Guys I think the writing for fire emblem engage is somehow worse than fire emblem fates. Im a longtime fire emblem fan, I've played every recent game, and this... this is just Awful lmfao

Im still having plenty of fun & I have my handful of characters I love soooo much. But God fucking damn this writing is just some of the worst I've ever seen in a game

ok additional thoughts on 4-3..

it was very 🤯🤯 to learn that trucy has a "real father".... who i highly suspect to be shadi smith lol. it hasnt been stated explicitly whether this is her biological father or not and i still stand by the opinion tht wright isnt the type to adopt children he has no blood relation obligations to, so im still under the belief tht shes wright's biological daughter.. tho it wouldnt be super hard for me to believe tht shes actually not his bio daughter cuz wright having a child at 18 would be crazzyyyy. but yeah thats for case 4 to reveal to me so thts exciting.. oh and also im guessing mr. hat is modelled after zak gramarye, so valant = yellow, zak = blue, and trucy = pink/red like she was in tht cute little picture!

klavier's and apollo's relationship is sooo interesting to meee.. i really really like how its completely different from every relationship wright has had w his prosecutors. every prosecutor has been antagonistic to wright, but even tho klavier makes fun of apollo's forehead and is condescending to him in the court, hes still pretty respectful towards apollo. it was really cool how he entrusted apollo to incriminate drayan, it was very reminiscent of edgeworth's trust in wright during the engarde case. klavier is sooo interesting, like hes all here talking abt "finding the truth" which took our previous prosecutors like 2 whole games to reach that point, but klavier has already reached it here. i also liked how bratty and grumpy he was in the concert LOL and tht whole part in his office where hes like "i want to pursue simplicity :)" is so interesting and i bet will get unraveled next chapter hurhuahfksdj. hes so different in such a refreshing way and i really really enjoy it. i also like how nice he is to trucy, honestly its nice that everyone is nice to trucy! shes the games special girl and im glad we all treat her nicely!

and of course apollo has been so refreshingly different tooooo, it was typical game stupidity for him to leave the crime scene unattended but hey, he hasnt endangered trucy at any point so that has been a huge plus for me. i really like how deadpan and level-headed and 'serious' he is. its just really good character writing that he fills out the same role as wright but his personality is still very different. like wright was bizzare and apollo is not. but hes still as entertaining. also his confidence in the court was very coollll i really like this kid. and also its so neat to play as a protagonist whose the same age as me HAHA. and ive already said this but seriously him and trucy are so cuteeee together, maya and phoenix were the best of friends, but apollo is like looking after trucy and its just super adorable.

also at first i was very 🤨 at this case bc it took its time to point out my defendant was BLIND and short and also how could letouse have known lamiroir was a witness if he wasnt facing the small window, so i was irked during the 1st trial bc of this, but then it ended with a WOAHHH when lamiroir accused drayan and then the court started to get criticized and it was just soooooo gooddddd. oh and the part where i had to figure out how the magic trick worked was really funny bc i genuinely had no idea, and trucy knowing but not telling apollo was hilarious and so was the judge's insistence on learning how the trick worked 😭 i really liked that part! im very happy with the game so far and im super excited for the last case, cuz even tho turnabout corner kinda rushed its ending it was still a neat case and i liked alita's personality as a killer very much, all the cases have been very solid. and im excited to finally receive answers to the many mysteries of this game.. tho im a bit worried abt having the time and space to actually play it cuz eid is in like 4 days hejfkwehjkshdagjk but what happens happens!

its really funny you say the author drew from real life bc recently one of her negative reviews got a lil bit of attention on tik tok for that book & it just tears into her for basically writing a self insert among other things.

i got this ask a few days ago and didnt quite get it but finishing the book and reading the reviews i get it now......it seems that the more you know of rfk the more you'll hate yellowface 😭😭😭 which is interesting....the main valid criticism ive seen so far is that she's been accused of colorism and her self insert was too and it was hand waved away....like that's weird....that's suspicious. and i get what ppl are trying to say...rfk uhhhh poking fun at her critics is annoying and i guess i could see it as trying to change the narrative or point the finger in a different direction but the themes in yellowface aren't wrong? and i don't think an author having a self-insert is inherently bad? at least not in this case....

like. at the start of the novel athena is propped up to be a saint after death even tho no one liked her and then it was revealed she leeches off pain. not good. but she also was a victim of the singular minority thing in publishing but she also didnt go out of her way to uplift other asians in writing. she's a complex character with a lot of faults its not like rfk made her a mary sue that was confirmed to do no wrong. so ppl are mad that she drew from real things and is probably putting some of her real feelings into the mix but i feel like every character gets a HEALTHY dose of reaming and what's 'hand waved' away is real life. like? 😭😭😭😭 cassandra clare is a freak and a half and had a booming career. idk ive read ego inflating self inserts and this didnt really feel that way to me bc EVERYONE is painted as in the wrong you know? the critics are right but they also thrive on negativity. the writers are often awful ppl but theyre also victims of hate mobs. twitter hate mobs are trying to uphold morality bc theyre stupid and twist moral causes into reasons to be hateful. etc. its hard for me to say that rfk was poking fun at anyone specifically just the industry itself...and it is a fucking goofy racist mess lol but i guess it can be seen as hypocritical to critical of the system you're a part of even tho thats the only way u can get critique

ive caught up w blue lock.... (anime only not manga sorry I usually dont read mangas lol) some Thoughts:

biggest critique is the use of the overpowered self insert characters lmao. like isagi is the generic japanese teen boy who despite having no significant athletic ability is able to rapidly improve and compete w some CRAZY talented guys, ego is the slightly older generic japanese 20 smth whose ideas about things are taken 100% seriously and given a bunch of money and little to no criticism ('cant argue w him hes RIGHT') for some truly batshit ideas. I’m not a huuge fan of that sort of thing (as I’m not the target audience) and it makes me roll my eyes p much constantly sorry :/

second biggest critique is that I CANNOT take soccer this seriously ksagjavshshfdsshhsh sorry but it is Not that big of a deal 😭 plus the amount of goals theyve been scoring from the start is super unrealistic I feel (tho maybe thats a biased opinion from the only soccer ive watched being whatever my dad has on in the english premier league or whatever??? idk I feel like those are always 1-3 goals total for the game for the most part)

HOWEVER. I do like the show I promise. listing good things now those are my only gripes really!!!

bachira is v v v good, he's my lil guy ❤️ I also like nagi a lot tho!! which surprised me bc hes not usually my character type but idk.... hes fun teehee. his relationship drama w reo and new friendship w isagi is keeping me SO hooked

general shoutout to all the side characters tbh; ive liked p much all of them so far?? also the drama squad of nagi/barou/chigiri all rooming together KILLED MEEE I love them sm

despite criticizing isagi in the first point I actually do also like isagi a lot LMAO. I didnt think I would but ive been really engaged by the way he thinks about the matches and puts things together, esp in the second selection! makes it somewhat more believable that hes made it so far but also just like. the connections themselves are v cool idk it feels like a good version of the whole 'ive planned this 30 steps ahead of u' thing

I also like how theyve been balancing the 'you need to work w a team to maximize potential' and 'you need to have your own individual skill to be worth anything' thing to! I was actually super pleased by the way barous arc ended; having him suddenly be willing to work w people wouldnt have felt right, but I wouldve gotten real sick of him if he never changed either, so him and isagi just fighting the whole time on the field was a cool way to resolve that!! new ways to combo and everything hehehe

bachira and isagis relationship is making me SOOO crazy u have no idea. they like each other so much and theyre so ready to throw hands at any moment but theyre literally making out while they play against or w each other ahhh. mentioned in the tags of my earlier post but I’m SO excited to see whether or not isagi actually picks bachira if/when he beats this 4v4; I feel like atm bachira hasnt really evolved explosively like everyone else yet so if that stays true and isagi ends up picking rin instead I’m gonna be SOO pumped to see how bachira responds to that!! I think thatd be a really cool growth arc for him and isagi both tbh. plus a nice parallel to nagi and reo since I think bachira would be less pissed and more motivated, might get the evolution that (it seems) reo isnt getting 👀 ofc I could just be wrong hahahaha

okay hi yes im happy to talk about this but i think i should preface with two things:

1) even tho it may seem like im biased towards him or being very defensive of him im actually a super casual karl viewer and the only reason i am super defensive of him sometimes is bc we act a lot alike irl and that is mainly because of our neurodivegency. when i say a lot i mean we share traits like "annoying" stimming (jumping around, making loud noises, repeating the same phrases until everyone is sick of hearing them), the difficulty reading situations, the very obvious issues with volume control and not just bouncing from subject to subject to subject as we fucking please. basically anything you've seen karl do on stream that is Very Neurodivergent ive done the same in my own way which is why i get defensive when i see people calling him annoying or saying they dont like him, usually for these types of reasons. that being said, when i say im a very casual karl viewer, i fucking mean it. i usually only watch him when he's streaming with other ccs i like or when he's doing chill alt streams bc even with the annoying donos, he's pretty relaxing and comforting when he's just fucking around by himself and he isnt trying to get as hype as he would on a main channel stream. so yeah, it may seem like im biased and sure, i guess i am on some level, but it's not coming from a place of me hyperfixating on him or me even loving him as a cc, it's coming from me being a neurodivergent who likes him just enough to get upset when i see people basically being casually ableist towards him.

2) i dont have all the facts or even a great understanding on what the fuck has been happening recently with his "drama"...mostly bc he talked about it on his priv, which im not on, and people are gatekeeping the tweets, as they always do, and basically making you "dm to see them" (which is already a problem in and of itself bc apparently in these tweets he said he didnt want them being ss and shared, yet they are being shared thru dms over and over and over again like. at that point just stop withholding the information and post the fucking shit, you clearly dont care that he said "dont share"). additionally, most of the threads ive seen on this situation havent actually explained the initial issue, just talked about his apology (a lot of people have said "it's bad" but havent said why and with no screenshots ((i havent asked for someone to dm me them and i still havent seen them posted, which is mildly surprising, but incredibly frustrating at this point)), i only have a few basic details i can actually assess it on) or they talked about the initial issue in very vague details so um. excuse me trying to explain this now, but ill try and make it make sense with how little ive actually pieced together.

(oh, also, here's my first rant about the ableism in this fandom which is way more broad. this is a pretty different rant from that one, but they're both pretty big reasons why i hate this fandoms treatment of karl)

so basically the problems started with mr beast being apart of a charity stream that donated either to autism speaks or to a similar company, im unsure on that part. im also unsure on if the people participating in the stream actually knew of this or not bc, from what i remember, the money was being donated to a separate organization that was like. under the bad company or some shit like that, idk how stuff like that works and also i read about this shit months ago bc this originally happened months ago and just sorta came to a head recently.

anyways, i think karl was supposed to be apart of this stream but pulled out of it right before (that or these were two separate streams and karl was supposed to participate in the first but pulled out while mr beast did both?? idk. regardless karl did not actually participate, just mr beast). from there people started doing the guilt from association bullshit they always do, this was also doubled by the fact that the chris being racist stuff came out sometime around then and basically he got dragged all over twitter for "being ableist" and "supporting racists" and i cant remember if he actually apologized when this originally happened or not. i vaguely remember him apologizing about something back then but i genuinely dont know if it was this or something else.

basically that died down eventually, a good chunk of people unstanned him but him and honktwt didnt end up getting the lovely lil technotwt treatment and they still havent yet, surprisingly. good for them honestly ajsksk

but now we get to the past few weeks and apparently something happened with him "laughing at someone saying the r slur" (it was mizkif, i believe), specifically when it was directed at other people, which is a big yikes, obviously, but when karl was called out for this a lot of people kind of. made this into a situation that it wasnt bc um. basically karl didnt laugh at it, he gave a few nervous giggles, as people often do when in a situation like that (and karl specifically said he does this in the one part of his apology tweet which i did stumble upon, although it wasnt the important part of the apology thread bc why would it be) and people fucking crucified him for it. they quite literally dragged a neurodivergent man for supposedly "laughing at the r slur" when he can literally reclaim it and also he was just nervous laughing.

and this is where the situation just gets really bad because they. basically forced him to admit that he was autistic on his priv to apologize for this. i havent seen the screenshots of him saying this, but i saw people discussing it and i am frankly so fucking pissed about this because sure, it was a bad situation, and i understand people wanting an explanation, but an apology? for a neurodivergent man nervous laughing at a slur he can reclaim? and then forcing the man to admit something he literally said in that tweet he didnt want people to know which is why people were being so gatekeepy about it while also LOUDLY discussing the situation, as if that wouldnt drive MORE PEOPLE to look for screenshots and ways to get ahold of this information? and then people had the audacity to call it a "bad apology" when they had quite literally just violated his privacy by forcing him to admit something that he shouldnt have needed to share in the first place if he didnt want to, which he didnt.

and this is why im so pissed off. karl is already constantly picked at and made fun of and called annoying for his neurodivergent traits, things which he literally cant help, things which are generally harmless, and now he was forced into a situation where he can now be further picked at and made fun of and called annoying bc they forced him to admit something private instead of just understanding and accepting that he had been nervous laughing at someone using a slur he has definetly been called for his neurodivergency.

tldr of my thoughts: yes i think karl needed to address this situation, it definetly looked bad, but twitter stans have this sense of entitlement with their ccs and because of that, they consistently take it way too far and harm the people they claim to care about so dearly. we've seen it happen time and time again with dream, but this is the first time ive seen them basically force someone to out themselves to make their apology "valid" and most of them still seem to not want to accept it anyways, which just makes me feel bad for him bc now that info is out their and people are just disregarding it to continue "holding him accountable".

im gonna keep it real im getting tired of how often we get told how handsome hua cheng is. i know its all xie lian’s pov and while im not terribly familiar with it i know what genre we’re working with and im assuming thats pretty typical. its something i dont much care for in general and idk maybe it sounds better in the original but ngl its starting to make me roll my eyes. love you goth king but god okay we get it.

i guess what i will say about hualian so far is that overall i like them and i like how they interact in general they have a lot of nice moments and they just genuinely seem to like each other which is really nice to see EXCEPT for when it actually comes to things that could be romantic or sexual which is a shame bc i dont think it has to be like this. again disclaimer that im only reading a translation and dont know everything might not have all the knowledge necessary to accurately criticize etc etc and im assuming a lot of this is expected from the genre (disclaimer to this disclaimer that i cant say that for sure its just based on things ive picked up about the bl genre over the years) but idk like xie lian was so distressed after their underwater kiss scene. it was kind of uncomfortable to read and maybe im being unfair i know his cultivation is based around abstinence or whatever but idk i dont care for it. and that scene alone doesnt have to be a bad thing like idk i guess its his first kiss ever (?) and it would make sense if he feels weird about it but i just have my doubts thats going to be addressed or resolved in a satisfying way. also im like. dude everyone is like centuries old. xie lian’s been on earth for 800 years. has he really never met or heard of a gay person during all this time? maybe he hasnt idk what he got up to yet maybe that’s actually a thing. also same thing with the reactions from the immortals to xie lian in a dress and characters like the windmaster like again you’re all centuries old and its not uncommon to be able to just completely change gender presentation. why are you all weird about a man wearing a woman’s dress? i just feel like that shouldnt be a big deal to these characters idk

also again not going to lie part of this that im not really a big fan of reading romance in general. yes i am reading this book. yes i do read and write a lot of fanfic that includes or centers romance. im multifaceted. but really what im talking about is the like physical side of it and descriptions im extremely picky about it. ill give an example. early on in the torture pit (or whatever it was called i cant remember lol) when xie lian kind of accidentally felt up hua cheng in the dark when he was being carried. i dont think thats a bad thing to have happen between the two romantic leads i think thats fine and good to include that early but i just did not enjoy reading it when it happened idk maybe it was the wording and i do think that moments like these work better in a visual medium. ive definitely read het romance that reads like this and i wasnt a fan of that either lol same with fanfic i get tired when writers go on and on about how hot one characters finds another character. this isnt a huge criticism of it like i said im picky but again like with the way that hua cheng is described it just makes me roll my eyes sorry kings

okay back to the reading. this whole saving the fishermen thing feels like a big set up for something narrative-wise. hua cheng specifically insisted on coming and i know one of the characters involved ends up dying im wondering if thats now it would be a good time tbh if things get just a bit too unfortunate during this heavenly calamity... and the brothers are notably not having a harmonious time... also tho it feels very likely we’ll just have another Hualian Moment (tm)

its so funny tho. i started watching sk8 bc friendo told me about it bc i was writing a skateboard action sequence for rottmnt fic and was struggling with very last bit and they said maybe this fandom might have skateboard action in fic tag? (no. it doesnt actually. ive combed through the tag. nobody ever writes action and nobody would ever write it for non combat or non chase sequences MUCH LESS SKATEBOARDING. IVE WATCHED SO MANY SKATEBOARDING VIDEOS BEFORE I EVEN HEARD OF SK8 BC OF THIS LEO FIC). anyways so i looked into it via clips and literally. very instantly fell in love with rekis character. like. i zeroed in on his character design alone. and like. the more i learned about him the more his appeal fell perfectly into place as My Type of fav character..... god i love outwardly genki but is secretly insecure inside bitches so much. my type of lad. i really did just single him out and instinctively knew he would be my fav.

there’s two types of kids in this group: hjr and enyu screaming their butts off, and lin mo and xzx wallowing in regret of their life decisions

hjr and enyu always saying its too short when the ride ends LOL

lin mo talking real talk over dinner about their feelings BC HES A REAL LEADER and knows how important it is to address this. these concerns are obviously very present in his mind, even when theyre out having fun to relax, and he’s still trying his best to figure out how he can help them and motivate them. 

makes sense that they would include enyu interview clips bc hes surely spouting the real talk, but i think its interesting its mainly him and lin mo getting screen time. 

enyu would be the one to speak up and say something when lin mo is trying to talk to them though. i think theyre both right though, im guessing lin mo is in part too nice, bc he doesnt feel comfortable enough with them to be as strict as he normally is, bc he knows they have reason to not be motivated and he feels bad for them. but at the same time, he brings up a good point that they themselves need to have their own motivation. it cant just be him putting in effort. and i HUGELY respect that he is telling this to them straight up bc its a hard conversation to have, esp bc im sure he wants them to like him as a friend. but i respect that he knows if they have problems they have to air them out bc lack of communication will be too costly. 

momo is lucky he has someone like enyu on his team who’ll actually talk to him with real opinions rather than just hide in fear of disrupting the status quo. literally enyu is the one voicing that he doesnt want takeout and he doesnt want to stay up late, and other people agree, but the surprise on lin mo’s face just tells you that he wouldnt have even realized these are things that are bothering his teammates unless they straight up told him, and thankfully enyu did, bc lin mo thankfully is reasonable and willing to change his habits for the sake of the group TO HELP THEM. hes willing to do anything he can to help them, as long as they tell him what they want from him. huang enyu’s lesson in communication, dont let people guess, just tell them straight up 

its interesting bc its clear enyu respects lin mo a lot, says he has the experience and the skill and the right to yell at them to get it together, but hes still not afraid to tell lin mo he thinks lin mo should be more strict with them. and then i respect lin mo for not backing down when being criticized and for strongly insisting that they need to put in effort themselves too. he cant force them to do anything they dont want to do themselves. they themselves have to want to do well. 

lin mo is really out here taking care of his group of children and leading them and helping them and looking out for them and im just floored by his leadership yet again. i really hope they can pull it together. 

lin mo is a dork and stanning him leads to mostly either second-hand embarrassment or disappointment. from qcyn to snzm, it just always feels like he’s being mistreated and taken advantage of and stepped on, and sad things just keep happening to him. but then he has these moments where he reminds you of why he’s worth stanning. why it’s worth waiting for something good to finally actually happen. and why he deserves those good things. its just so nice to see hes getting some appreciation and recognition for the things he does. at least youku let us see his leadership in action.

hunter x hunter thotz so far

soooo ruth and i started watching hunter x hunter woohoo finally! we’re like 10 or so eps in so i decided to collect some thots below on what i think so far (i havent rlly been spoiled so im interested to look back on this once ive watched more)

first off i love gon sm, hes immediately so endearing...hes just a baby!!!! just a little baby boy!!!! hes just so cute and good, im so not ready for him to get put thru the wringer later on as ive vaguely heard happens

the first few episodes were really fast paced which i enjoyed and thought was for the best. the characters came thru really strongly and i feel like we heard juuuust enough about the setting, premise, and what a hunter is 

i wasnt expecting leorio and kurapika to show up in the FIRST EP lmao that surprised me. i love so much how the three of them like IMMEDIATELY became a family unit in like 3 eps lmaoooo it was like ok here are 2 parents and their son bam. also leorio and kurapika having a showdown on the boat (which didnt end up happening) was a wild ride 

i have like zero fucking idea what a hunter is and the more they attempt to explain the more confused i get. its honestly kind of hilarious how little sense it makes. to be clear this doesnt detract from my enjoyment of the show at all (if anything it adds to it)

oh my god fuckgin hisoka is the worst he hasnt done much but i hate him so much already. good villain writing/design so far, hes so hateable

ruth every time hisoka shows up: WE HATE UR PUSSY BIIIITCH 

the character design in this show is....a lot lmao. ruth and i decided its a cross between soul eater, jojo, and one piece in terms of aesthetic. the designs are certainly unique and so many of them are just so ugly hvbjafdbdskgs it reminds me of that post thats like ‘masterpost of jojo characters who look busted as shit’ lmao

i already love this show a lot tbh like the way its structured so far has been kinda atypical for a shounen, at least in terms of fights - we really havent seen a lot of fighting yet. also nen hasnt shown up yet and its reminding me of stands not becoming a thing in jojo until p3 lmao 

anyways in litrally ep1 i already loved the 3 main characters we saw...leorio is a wild dude, i love him sm, especially as a fellow medical binch who wants MONEY. like, thats literally me. and kurapika is also wild, like damn they rlly just dropped their backstory in ep 1 huh. like we rlly are jumping right into this 

also when leorio said he was a teenager i was like WHAT???? just like evryone else which YEA omfg. i cant believe hes that young lmao. kurapika too

so leorio is one of those 19 yr olds who looks 40 and kurapika is the type of teen who looks like a 12 yr old

and KILLUA i love him sm also....hes an adorable assassin catboy and hes perfect. i love how quickly he and gon hit it off (tiny bfs.....) and how hes just like, this extra as hell 12 yr old with a SKATEBOARD and ASSASSIN SKILLS and then he sees gon and is like guess im gonna fall in love 

i gotta talk abt gon again i just love him. hes so polite and cute and kind and good, i just love him...wht a good protag. his motivation is just wild too, hes like well my dad abandoned me to go off and be a hunter (which he isnt even mad abt, what a nice lad) so im gonna do that to see what the deal is

i love how gon (just like the audience) doesnt really know what a hunter does/is and just goes into the exam totally blind lmao. also the fact that his skills seem to include jumping good, being speedy, having the energy typical of a 12 yr old, being a weather sniffer, being nice, and having good instincts/constitution as a result of having eaten random grass and forest shit growing up...amazing. 

is this gonna turn out to be one of those things where its like, wow theyve been using nen this whole time without realizing! tht would honestly explain a lot lmao 

i really enjoy how like....semi-normal the power levels are rn? while also being all over the place and wack as fucks obvs (like hisoka dissolving that guys arms in his first appearance was A Lot, as well as all the card stuff hes done..). like the part wher that blue guys (evil franky one piece) punches the ground and it leaves a crater and everyones like !!!! wow wtf thats unnatural! that literally threw me off bc that kinda thing is so normal in anime lmaoooo. but i like that thats the starting point bc it leaves a lot of room for power escalation w/out it getting too out of hand 

specifially our protags are starting out pretty low on the Shounen Badass scale - especially gon (and leorio, tho i kinda predict he wont be as fight-y? what with him being premed)

i find it kinda hilarious how killua hasnt done too much (aside from murdering those 2 randos in like half a second) despite being so clearly skilled...like when they have to do the 5v5 fight thing in the tower, i wouldve thought hed be the first up cause hes so badass but nope

actually thats what i find interesting - i was expecting all 5 (or maybe 4, we’re in the middle of leorio’s ‘fight’) of the fights to be physical smackdowns but so far nope, theyve been very cerebral. that bodes well, w/how smart the fights have been, bc i doubt the fights will get stale tht way 

tho they might be kinda frustrating sometimes - there are times when u DO just wanna see a good ole fashioned shounen beatdown yknow. but we do get enough of that now (and im sure we’ll get plenty more) to satisfy (like kurapika decking fake-franky) 

oh also the opening. its so charming and cute and i love the song...its also so hilariously basic and classic - like one of those typical 2000s anime openings where theres stock run cycles of all the main characters and theres a little animation of all the characters fighting together (and that fight doesnt actually happen, its just for the op) 

also love that leorios the only one who doesnt fight in the OP, instead getting saved from death by gon lmao. im curious if he’ll end up fighting at all (i assume a little?) and if he’ll use nen (probably healing type nen?) 

also i already wanna fistfight ging for abandoning his perfect angel son. also leorio is literally gons dad already, they even look alike wow

i rlly like how much of the plot, especially the early hunter exam stuff, is moved along simply by gon being a good kind polite boy. 

love the fact that he and leorio and kurapika (and later killua) all team up without even saying anything...i love that, most shounen would have them be like ‘che, i cant team up with anyone, i have to prove myself ALONE or my victory wont be EARNED’ or w/e idk. who knows that might happen later but rn i love how they all effortlessly work together (and how they all contribute - without each other they would have all failed at different points) 

oh man also killuas first appearence was so funny when he drank a bunch of tonpas poisoned drinks and was like [smirks] tch, loser, im immune to poison. get dunked on. [skateboard away] i love him so fuckgin much

HOOOOLY FUCK I ALMOST FORGOT, BUT 65% OF THE REASON I MADE THIS POST WAS TO MENTION HISOKAS THEME LMAOOOOO his music being like fuckgin, spanish guitar/traditional mexican type music is sooooo goddamn funny to me for some reason, like the first time it played i was like ok whats going ON with this spanish guitar lmao but then i figured out that its his theme and god thats so funny 

hisoka is also so fuckign jojo like he could so easily be in jojo. he and dio would be the fakest best friends ever and would constantly try to kill each other on the lowdown and shittalk each other constantly in private but be super sweet to each others faces. also they would hatefuck. no im not taking criticism bye 

i rlly love everyones backstories also, and i find it interesting that weve gotten to hear/see at least some of all 4 of the MCs backstories. theyre all compelling and interesting and i cant wait to dive in further 

also calling it now but kurapika is totally gonna get way too absorbed in revenge and get fucked up/disregard their own life (maybe in the style of robin in one piece?) we’ll see but i feel like it aint gonna end well. i could be wrong, i really havent been spoiled at all, thats just my guess

also i had no idea the ep titles were formatted like that w/the x’s and thats rlly funny 

ok but the part where leorio - who seems to be pretty bad at fighting - tries to fight hisoka - whose literal first appearence involved him effortlessly dissolving a dudes arms - is so fucking funny. leorio rlly b a premed w/no brain cells....same bro. 

also i loved the Cutthroat Kitchen portion of the hunter exam and how not a single contestant was any good at it lmaoooo. do they not have the cooking channel in hxh-verse earth 

ok i love how the main characters are all intuitive in different ways depending on their own skills, like how killua can immediately guess that kurapika has never killed anyone before after they didnt kill evil-franky

kurapika joined killua in the Edgy Corner during that part also. like, they both have legit reasons to be edgy, but the shots of kurapika sitting in the darker tunnel part was kinda funny

also killua, a literal 12 yr old, calling out kurapika for being a murder virgin was pretty hilarious 

ok also i didnt know that madhouse animated hxh which is rlly funny but w/e i love the animation especially the occasional chibi parts and the facial expressions (like killuas ‘i love murder’ catboy expressions) 

oh also when killua murdered those 2 guys and his hand was all vein-y and his nails were pointy, his hands looked like hisokas do...i wonder if thats a legit connection or it hisoka just b getting his nails did 

kurapika talking abt how even seeing a regular spider makes them rlly angry was both very sad and kinda funny. kura u have so many issues god bless 

kurapikas smackdown on evil blue franky was fuckin dope tho. and the red eyes reveal was SPOICY 

rlly love how the individual fights highlights the characters strengths/morals/motivations/whatever....the writing is already really strong tbh

Specifically pertaining to crowfeather and how hes actually an antagonist in this au

• His relationship with Nightcloud is actually an arranged mateship; when Ashstar became leader after Tallstar's death, Onewhisker defied her and rallied a rebellion and Mudclaw actually supported him in this verse (hehe flipped). After the rebellion is quelled and Onewhisker either a. Dies, b. Backs off, or c. Is exiled/runs off, Mudclaw stays and as a sign of windclans unity they arrange for Ashstars son Crowfeather and Mudclaws daughter Nightcloud to be mates

• Anyways. After Crows rejected by Feathertail a second time, he kinda seems to dodge around the idea of an arranged marriage (nightcloud also isnt thrilled but agrees bc she feels like this is what a loyal windclan warrior would do). He reluctantly agrees but during this time starts sneaking around with Leafpool as his rebound, and he eventually convinces her to run away. When leafpool tells him they need to go back and break this off, crows pissed at her and moody. He goes back to nightcloud and pleads that she take him back to prove hes a loyal windclan warrior and nightcloud, both pitying him as he was her friend growing up and also again feeling pressured by her clanmates/clan, agrees and takes him back as her mate. Crow however still acts really shitty towards her, continuing to moon over leafpool and feathertail while doing a complete 180 around them and acting particularly mean/aggressive to leafpool

• Its kinda heavily implied that crows still pursuing romances with other mollies (be it rogues, loners, kittypets, other clan cats, etc.) by nightcloud a lot as nightcloud seeks comfort from squirrelstorm (who, while they never acted on their romantic feelings as apprentices, are still close friends and squirrel continues to quietly pine for night but chooses to push those feelings to the side) and nightcloud mentions that crow sneaks out at night a lot, is generally distant and cold towards her, and nothing like the friend she grew up with

• It kinda drives home nights worries when she goes into labor and crows literally nowhere to be found until the next morning, after night has a stillborn birth and breezekit is in severe critical condition

• Crow and night both begin to resent windclan. Night resents them for the pressure they put her in and acting as though the clans safety/unity solely resided on whether she had crows kits or not, but they continue to stand back and allow crow to treat night and breeze the way he does with no confrontation or even attempting to guide him to change (the only cats who ever seem bothered by crows treatment of his family besides night are whitetail, barkface, and breezes apprentice friends). Crow on the other hand resents windclan for keeping him tied down but mainly resents leafpool and nightcloud, believing that they ruined his chances at a happy life

• Idk if either crow trains in the dark forest or breeze trains in the dark forest yet tho tbh. I think breeze would still train while crow just remains an antagonist factor but idk

• Anyways. After the secret is revealed by lionblaze at a gathering (which causes both lion and holly to run away from thunderclan i might talk abt that in another post idk), ashstar decides she cant really punish crowfeather and doesnt even scold him bc whats done is done and in his defense he didnt know abt the three being his. Most of windclan actually blames leafpool for it (except for a select few ofc). Nightclouds resentment finally hits its peak and she decides to run off to thunderclan as they seemed to be the only cats who sympathized with her; breezepelt also agrees to come with her and they join thunderclan

• Leafpool also like the night after or so found nightcloud and begged her not to be mad at squirrelstorm for nevet telling her abt the threes bio kits. Leafpool had been unaware of nights arranged mateship to crow when they ran off and was extremely ashamed to not only be carrying a windclan toms kits but also a taken windclan toms kits so she begged squirrel not to tell anyone abt the bio parents of the kits. Squirrel agreed and in the end believed it didnt matter who their bio parents were bc she raised them as her own. Night decides to forgive leaf and squirrel and actually becomes even closer to them in thunderclan

• Anyways. Back to crow. Seeing night actually be happy in her thunderclan life (and the possible blooming/happy romance between her and squirrel), as well as leaf achieving her dreams and becoming a medicine cat, drives crow further into his bitterness. Hes mad that they got happy endings while he didnt, so in the final dark forest battle, crow targets them and breeze

• Ashstar actually takes a pretty bad wound defending breezepelt from crowfeather and begs nightcloud for forgiveness - she feels guilty for letting her son slide on so much and regrets shoving nightcloud into an unhappy romance under the guise of it being for the sake of windclan. Night forgives her but tells her she wont be rejoining windclan as she finally feels good about herself in thunderclan. Ash understands and accepts this (after the battle breeze does decide to move back to windclan, but hes happy for his mom back in thunderclan)

• Crow targets leaf at one point during the battle and attacks her, attempting to kill her, when either night bounds in and tears him away from her. They duke it out and crow tries to trick night into turning her back on him so he can sneak attack/kill her, but as he lunges for the kill holly intervenes and actually kills him (this is still up in concepts so idk tho. Night herself might just wreck him idk lol)

• Last thing. Idk if ill use this bc honestly i never read avos and ive never rlly thot abt rewriting the plot past oots but if i did: darktail would actually be the result of one of crows implied earlier romances (perhaps between him and one of the mollies from The Colony). Darktail sees this new era the clans are in of peace and open borders/being more open to cross-clan relationships (be it familial, romantic, or platonic) and feels enraged over the fact he and his mother lived a difficult hard life on their own, pushed away by crowfeather, for the sake of this code that is now not even a huge deal anymore. So he teams up with sol (? Perhaps idk) and tries to dismantle the clans and turn them on each other and go back to their old code bc if he had to suffer then he better not have suffered for no reason

ive been thinking about this and like i wanna add that the same ppl that are always like “i dont like michael” are the same people that praise and adore stamets. yall know im not a big fan of him (i do think his actor is phenomenal tho loved him in rent) stamets literally acts like every white gay man that ive ever met that put themselves on a pedestal of “im better than you” and if yall have met them then you know EXACTLY wht type of person im talking about

from day one that michael is on board, stamets acts with hostility towards her. like sure you can tell me his hostility was justified because she was sticking her nose in places she shouldnt have but that really isnt quite the case. she was doing what she was told to do and because shes a fucking genius she figured shit out. period.

but even past their initial friction, the writers time and time again have set michael up to be on the recieving end of stamets agression (see the endong of season three if you need any proof) and they have set her up in a way in which stamets and her will clash pretty badly in the nets season if they decide to go in that direction

i dont give a shit that stamets is gay (yall already know culber is the love of my life) but like because 1) hes gay and 2) white, any hostility between the two will result in people being on his side and further criticism against michael ie: “oh shes being homophobic bc she has tension with the gay man. nobody should be mean to my sweet little white gayngel why is she clashing with him” yall may not see it but this is a pretty good example of mysogynoir. like its a deliberate set up by the writers for some conflict and yet another reason to question her captaincy (which i think has been fucking ridiculous that it took as long as it dod for her to become captain)

for a show giving us the promise of a black female lead who was literally in line to be captain from the start they sure had no fucking issue kicking her down time and time again

-as mentioned before we both love going to live concerts every time weve got time for it. especially amateur ones, just two dorks sitting in the front row applauding after every song for a street performance. and like any genre too. moz maybe initially wouldnt know what to expect but im so enthusiastic about it and tbh hes pretty interested too so its a really fun thing for both of us

-i like to praise him a lot, not just about his music and stuff but telling him hes an integral person w his servant powers too, and that hes been so helpful and saving my butt and stuff. when hes praised for music he just kinda smirks like “well obviously i am a genius lol” but hes at first super doubtful about being praised for non music things, eventually tho he accepts it, though gets a lil emotional over it (tho he tries not to show it)

-like all the mozarts hes extremely blunt and has no censor on his words. no subtlety at all and doesnt really think much about whats “polite” to say or not. but at the same time if he says something that hurts someone else he doesnt take it back or try to excuse himself, and he never says these things in malice, just out of having like no censor on himself. like his harshness of criticism always has intentions to improve others. and tbh its something i rlly like about him. wed be a weird pair, since im constantly trying to say things w a positive spin on them but moz just doesnt give a heck if it sounds positive or not, but at the same time he doesnt dwell in negativity or try to push negativity onto others. we both respect each other n stuff its the good shit
