I wish that the girls reading the comics and slowly coming to appreciate them stuck with TBBT after the Bakersville episode.
As a female nerd, that's one of the only things that bothered me about the show.
Like why couldn't Amy get into Star Wars?
Why Couldn't Penny get invested in Marvel/DC comics?
Why couldn't Bernedette become obsessed with anime/manga?
Like I know that some girls don't like it and at the time they weren't as Mainstream, but these things aren't just for men, and them rolling their eyes and calling it "stupid" alienates women who enjoy those things.
#the big bang theory#amy farrah fowler#penny hofstadter#bernadette rostenkowski#sheldon cooper#leonard hofstadter#howard wolowitz#raj koothrappali#its seriously is one of my only complaints about the show#like I get if one of the girls didn't like it#but I would have liked the others to at least try it out or show an interest#at least Amy likes Harry Potter

These folks watched a whole ass movie not realizing the main character was transgender and it was a 2 second kiss between men that made them lose their ever-loving minds.
It's amazing to me that if it weren't for those 2 seconds, many of these folks would have given this movie a 4 or 5 star review. But two seconds of the most vanilla, non-sexy, yet genuine and loving kiss somehow ruined every moment of enjoyment the previous 90 minutes brought them.
Imagine if they realized the trans allegory. I wish I had a way to tell them. I wish I had a way to make them realize they related to a trans character. That they rooted for them. That they accidentally empathized with a trans story.
This was a beautiful movie. In every sense. I really hope between this and Spider-Verse, we can have a moratorium on every 3D animated movie using this style of character design.
It's time to let go of the rubber toy look.
I love Toy Story, but its success kind of doomed 3D animation to never take any risks. I thought maybe it was just a limitation of the medium, and perhaps it was for a time... but after seeing Love Death + Robots and Arcane...
I realized they can make 3D animation look however the hell they want now.
The rubber people were just risk avoidance.
"That's what people are used to and so we're sticking with it."
But the real beauty of Nimona was the story. I won't spoil it but the plot is pretty much, "If you get to know a trans person, you probably won't hate them anymore."
Not knowing any trans people is one of the biggest factors in anti-trans bigotry. And so this movie uses allegory to let an audience get to know a trans person. And you get to experience someone slowly start to understand what it is to be trans from an outside perspective.
It's sad that will probably be lost on those folks above because all they will remember is the kiss. Seriously, it was such a harmless, mundane, blink-and-you-miss-it kiss. But I'm hoping that others will take the lesson of this movie to heart. That you should get to know people before you judge them.
Part of me does wish we could tell trans stories without allegory. That we could just have overt trans characters. But I think this is the best representation possible right now.
It's crazy that Supergirl was one of the bravest shows as far as modern trans representation. It wasn't an edgy HBO drama trying to push boundaries. It was a family-friendly superhero show and they were just like, "Here is a transgender woman with superpowers and it's fine." And I loved that it was part of the character but it wasn't all the character was. Though I think they just missed the manufactured "moral panic" window where that choice would have been extremely controversial causing boycotts of Warner Bros. and whatnot.
My only complaint about Nimona was a small penis joke. It went by very quickly and many may even miss it. But I was surprised to see it in this movie in particular. Especially since those jokes can have collateral damage toward trans folks. With all of the positive messages, wasting a joke on body shaming was a tad disappointing. I mean, it was a fairly lighthearted "Is it cold in here?" joke. I don't want to make it sound worse than it was. But it still registered on my Richter scale of things that bother me.
Anyway, I wholeheartedly give Nimona a 5 out of 5. It helped me understand my friends on a deeper level and it was warm and funny and entertaining. There was a scene at the end that was so beautiful and heart-wrenching and I was crying my eyes out. The animation and the symbolism and the acting were just so perfect.
It's a shame Disney tried to kill this movie. But I am so glad it was allowed to exist despite that.

Author🙏,
May you show some benevolence to us peasants and give us some crumbs about our albino, Alipede✨
terminal ft. alipede
a/n: i adore yandere alipede with every fiber of my being. cw: yandere content, spoiler for johan’s past, mention of bullying, possessive and obsessive behaviors, manipulation, violent tendencies, implied parentification on reader's part, trashy adults made trashy decisions, injury, codependency (oops). wc: 2.67k ao3 link! m.list
This far into the countryside, you stopped caring what day it was. Every sunrise had the same rooster crowing behind the mountains and every nightfall sounded the same container trucker honking on a distant highway just as you were about to doze off. The same off-brand chips in every local dinner, the same celebrity whose life people tended to gossip about.
You wanted to say again, with conviction, that you weren’t miserable. There was no better fate to be bestowed upon. Maybe in another universe where your dad hadn’t left and your mom cared a bit more, you might have had the chance to act your age. Picked up a new hobby or two. Learned a sport. Went to summer camps. Fell in love.
Then again, maybe the caregiver role you took on during this three-month break was inevitable. The boarding school your mom worked at was so low on staff that you had to practically live there to play the part of a nanny. Keeping tabs on the kids. Making sure they take their study seriously. Breaking off fights in the hallway. On days when the tension was heavy and the lump in your throat had been too uncomfortable to ignore, you only knew how to smile and suck it up. Sending them away with a pat on the back.
The reminder persisted: they would always have you to count on, and you only had yourself.
Away from the crowds but never in the corner, Alipede was a strange one. Obedient to his own torment yet glimmering under the unfeeling façade was a rare defiance. He never fought back, never complained. You wondered if he had simply given up. If he had just taken everything with a grant of salt like you did once upon a time. Still, you admired Alipede. And nothing ever stopped you to try and do your best by the poor boy: slipped in extra bread, chastised his bullies, cleaned the dirt on his desk.
You stared at him like a hawk from the other side of the room. Many times a day, he might have stared back.
—
One noon, Alipede tripped over a tree root outside and scraped his knees. It was midday when the sun was at its highest, and specifically a day so boiling hot that the heat had felt like it was raking red sharp nails down your sweat-soaked back; your toes sticking together in a pair of too-large sandals.
The grass and dirt sizzled their complaints underneath your palms, but they didn’t for Alipede. Against the limewood, he rested his back with a peculiar look of detachment.
He hadn’t cried.
But you fussed over his wounds anyway with wet wipes and a few clumsy attempts at band-aids. Halfway through the heinous process with the tissue already stained with dirt and blood, you realized you might be risking an infection.
“S-Should I get a teacher? A nurse?” You choked out hopelessly before realizing the only semi-responsible teenager around here were you. “W-We should get you inside first!”
Your shoulders continued to shake the more you forced the words out. The boy’s eyes were dead set on your panicked face, but ultimately no answer came.
You gulped and put on your best caring tone. “D-Does it still hurt?”
Alipede blinked. No answer. A thousand years passed. Silence. Your lips wobbled with anxiety in your guts and an apology behind your lips. He had it so much harder than you.
Still, when the albino extended an arm out to reach something behind you… no, on you. Under you? You flinched. A marshmallow-soft sensation settled on your lap and your gaze instinctively followed where his hand went. A rabbit, fur as pale as snow and eyes as red as ruby, had unknowingly hopped out of its coop and was now curling up on your legs.
His rabbit.
It might as well have made you drown in guilt before, but that feeling was so far away now it barely registered in your mind. Alipede reached out to pet the creature. It nuzzled into his hand and emitted a purring sound, the vibration tingling your skin. You watched the interaction with relief.
A good distance away from the common building, everything measured up to a perfect amount of tranquility. There were no cheery nursery rhymes on repeat, no cagey and overly dramatic action movies playing from one classroom to another. You smiled and scratched the rabbit’s head with your forefinger, earning a soft snore from the little guy.
“You left the cage open.”
It took three blinks to realize that Alipede was talking to you.
He hadn’t tilted his head up yet, still caressing his beloved pet. Beneath the shades of linden, Alipede seemed so soft and kind—looking every bit the pretty boy he was told to be. Maybe it hadn’t been a compliment at all, and you knew how much the albino detested being labeled as just another darling face. But even then, without spring in his steps and a guide cane in his hand, Alipede had always had this air of helplessness floating in and around him, teetering between the fading line of despair and a sense of willpower just vague enough to keep him going.
Your heart was already in your throat when he continued to say something.
Was it your name?
The beginning and the ending seemed to match, but there was no guarantee what had slipped out in between. The sun hid behind a heap of cotton candy clouds, yet your palm remained clammy, uncomfortably hot. Maybe it was the guilt. Maybe it was the knowledge that you had too wronged the poor boy. That you had fed and played and cared for what was his when he wasn’t around.
A tap on your shoulder. This time, you gathered the courage to finally meet his eyes as the albino leaned in and muttered again.
So it really was your name.
And your forehead was touching his. So was your nose. Alipede was so close you two were basically breathing the same air, the apples of your cheeks up against one another. And you hadn’t minded the unusually intimate distance, too busy taking in the red in his irises and the flutter of his pale lashes. Only when the rabbit squirmed on your lap again, trying to make some room did you realize that you still owed him an apology. You pulled back and ducked your head sheepishly.
“I’m sorry…”
For touching the rabbit without his permission. For the wounds on his knees. For complaining too much when he hadn’t.
Your gaze was trained on your lap, waiting. Thomas once whined to you about the scratches on his hand, calling the albino a freak because he had overreacted. You wondered if Alipede would bite you too. His pet did the first time you approached it, leaving a red welt on your arm and a scar on your pinkie. The thought of an angry boy sinking his teeth deep into your skin sounded so silly that it almost made you laugh. Maybe you wouldn’t even blame him then.
He hadn’t said anything either, but when the albino unexpectedly took your hands in his and laced your fingers together, you hadn’t flinched. Alipede was smiling at you.
“It’s fine,” then came a gentle squeeze. There in those cemeteries of red, you spotted a glint of delight, “I’m not mad.”
“Oh.” You opened your mouth, then closed it. “Thanks...”
Alipede raised an eyebrow. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. I just…” You mumbled. “I thought you would be mad at me for…”
A lock of white hair fell over his shoulder as Alipede tilted his head. He looked so cute; you wanted to squish his cheeks together.
“If it’s you, I won’t.”
The comment might have made you feel better if it wasn’t for the dry delivery. Even then, you trusted the boy enough to mellow out with a squeeze back. Did you forget something? Your gaze darted back to his scraped knees and felt your heart jump; you still had to take him inside for a checkup.
“You’re still hurting! W-We should head back in—“ The second you had tried to move away, he gripped and pulled you back in with a strength you didn’t know was possible. Shouldn’t be possible. Eyes wide as full moons, you could only stare as Alipede cupped your cheeks.
“I’m fine.”
“But-“
“I’m not hurting.”
The albino lowered his voice, pleading.
“Can we stay here a little longer, please?”
You nod wordlessly.
It was only Alipede, after all.
You trusted him just as much as he did you. He didn’t need to talk and beg and cry his way into your free time; you gave it to him willingly anyway.
The albino’s thumbs ghosted over your cheekbones. You wondered if he had felt your silent agreement at all, if he could hear the heart beating inside your chest, the blood flowing in your veins, and the air pumping into your lungs. He might have heard a lot of things you couldn’t.
The rabbit squirmed once more, nuzzling its fluffy head against your thigh. Alipede’s hands finally left your face to continue petting his comfort animal, but his eyes didn’t.
“He likes you,” Alipede said with conviction, and a smile smudged around the corners of his lips like a gallery of oil paintings forgotten in the rain.
“Oh.” You gaped at him; it always got so unbearably awkward the first time. “Um… what’s his name by the way?”
The boy must have had one ready before you even asked, sonnets of adoration bubbling in his throat and vibrant stars dancing behind his eyelids. And you had waited too—all bated breath, all whispering humbleness. Uncertainty swirled your guts like a desert oasis.
But when Alipede opened his mouth to speak, it was your name that had slipped out.
And again. And again. And again.
He said yours the same way people would when they cheered for sport: loud, excited, hopeful. You blinked. You heard him the first time, you just didn’t know what he meant by any of it. A “Huh?”, small and confused, left your lips. Then the cords clicked and the dots connected themselves.
“Oh, oh.” You dropped your face into your hands with a choked groan; the heat on your cheeks rivaling the scorching sun. Through the crack of your fingertips, Alipede’s smile remained constant.
He had named his rabbit after you.
—
The hallway got dustier and narrower the further you went down.
Once lunchtime rolled around, it was a maze of spilled drinks and childish destruction—foods and toys and everything imaginable going back and forth in the air until all of them hit the floor in a mass of ruination. One noon, you sighed and tugged on Alipede’s arm, leading him into the teacher’s lounge.
The place was empty. Well, no teacher here had ever bothered to stick with the kids until their second meal of the day, anyway. Once an incoherent excuse was out, they slipped into their cars and drove off into the distance. You never saw them again.
Your mom was around for breakfast sometimes, downing her portion wearily. She reeked of cheap booze. Of nightclubs and bad decisions. Once in third grade, you flushed her Seropin down the toilet by accident, thinking they were expired candy. Even then, your mom had come home wordlessly the next day with bloodshot eyes and bruised lips, and you hadn’t gone near her medical cabinet since.
Alipede leaned against the wall, a hand clasped over his nose obediently as you cleared out cigar stubs and crushed beer cans on the floor. Turning on the AC and opening a few windows seemed to help with the stuffy air inside. You guided the albino to sit at the table in the middle of the room, on chairs that creaked and felt too adult-like with foam for cushions. There was no one else around, but Alipede clung to your waist with a pout and pulled your seats closer than they already were. You giggled; you loved his clinginess, just as much as he loved you.
“We have—” Still joyful, you paused for effect and peered down the two trays on the table. “—Japanese food today! Curry over rice and miso soup. Have you heard of them before, Ali?”
Alipede, nose buried in your hair and mind probably somewhere up in the cloud, only blinked. His grip tightened around your waist when he asked, “No. What are they like?”
“Hmm…” You pursed your lips, “the curry has a thick and smooth texture that feels like velvet against your tongue. It also contains a blend of spices like cumin and coriander. Remember that, Ali? You said you couldn’t stand the pungent smell!” Your shoulders shook slightly as you laughed. “Don’t worry, it’s sweet and pretty mildly spiced. We have carrots and potatoes too! You said you loved them—“
On and on, you went about the dishes with gusto. He kept his eyes on you the whole time.
You used to wonder what Alipede’s world was like. A pitch black. A collision of sound waves and echoes. An overdose of nothingness. Long ago, you read a story about a father who sacrificed his son for the prosperity of their land. The boy grew up beautifully still, slaying demons and taking back the body parts that had been rightfully his since birth. A touching tale about defying fate and pushing forward in the face of adversity.
Still, Hyakkimaru was a fictional character, and Alipede was not.
You couldn’t begin to fathom the battle he had to go through every day, struggling to just be seen as a normal person, one with a life just as valuable as others.
But he hadn’t complained.
He hadn’t cried to you about the bullying either. Months ago before you came, the albino huddled inside a coop behind the school, holding onto his pet bolt-tight. He didn’t need to cry; his fading bruises and healing wounds already did the job for him.
Alipede’s lips curled up against the shell of your ear, dragging you further into the wool of a couch nearby. “You’re right, it’s just mildly spiced,” he whispered, low and content like a purring cat, between the messy tangles of your limbs, “could use a bit more sweetness, though.”
—
“I wanna get out of here,” you sighed almost dreamily by a pond in the garden, legs tucked under your knees in your favorite sundress, “maybe visit Japan one day. Or Korean. Anywhere is nice.”
You raised a hand to point at something. Maybe a bird passing by. Maybe a red hot orb flowing on the horizon, half-submerged by the Earth. What it was, it was promptly abandoned the moment Alipede grabbed onto your wrist and twined your fingers together.
“You’re not thinking of leaving me, are you?” Alipede’s pupils dilated in the setting sun, the white of his hair and your dress bleeding into one oversaturated canvas. “You told me you wouldn’t.”
“Of course not!” The answer came just as quickly, hurt and amusement wrapped up in the form of a pout written across your face. Even then, he hadn’t returned an apology. You had felt silly for even bothering to wait for one, but that was okay.
It was only Alipede, after all.
Instead, you squeezed his hand back, lacing your pinkie together in the naive gesture of a promise.
“I’ll be your eyes, Ali. For as long as I live.”
You swore through mirthful smiles and hushed voices. Here, tucked away from the common building and terrible adults, the world narrowed down to just you and him. And Alipede—your sweet, adorable, and lovely Alipede—whose head was on your lap and whose heart was forever yours, only stared back unblinkingly.
Then he giggled, pulling you forward. Against all senses, you held on, and the two of you toppled into the grass. Nighttime prickled at your skin like a bug as you laughed along with him, and the summer dragged on, neverending.

Thermodynamics and Turmoil (Curly x Reader pt. 1)
Hello! I'm putting out my very first piece ever and I'm so excited to feed the masses as much Mouthwashing content as they deserve :) This game has a lot of sensitive topics to it and as such I'll try my best to bring them up as appropriately as possible. The story is gonna start off slow and elaborative because I love all of the Tulpar crew so much (except for Jollof rice, Jimneva convention) and they all have such interesting personalities that I couldn't help but to explore their wants and aspirations. This story will feature an alternative ending to the game because I cannot stomach sad things they make me very sad </3

engineer! reader x curly TW: a bad word or two, I think word count ~ 1.9K
Curly was back in the medical bay for his routine psychological evaluation with Anya. With all of the questions answered and out of the way, the both of them were just chatting before he had to go back to the cockpit and finish up his duties for the afternoon.
“You’re all good to go, Captain. Seems like there isn’t much change from your answers like last time, as usual.” Anya let out a tired sigh.
“That should be a good thing, given we’ve already been on this trip for almost two months now. We should all be used to the routine around here at this point. Has everybody else been adjusting alright?” Curly stood up from his chair, Anya following suit as they moved towards the door.
“For the most part, everyone’s been well but I wish they would open up or take the assessment seriously. I mean, at least Daisuke has been making my job a little easier – he just talks and talks.” she mused. Curly gave a little chuckle in response, thinking about the last-minute intern that the Pony Express decided to add on board to their journey. He wasn’t exactly the most helpful – at least according to Swansea – but he brought an air of lightheartedness that they all needed in a cut-corners, shitty working environment like the Tulpar. “Oh, actually, have you seen (Y/N) lately?”
Curly thought for a moment. Along with Daisuke, (Y/N) was another late addition to the crew. The Tulpar has started showing its age and as such, there were increasingly consistent problems with the water pipes, life support, and fuel usage. However, instead of giving the crew a new ship, they handed the responsibility of keeping the ship up and running to the passengers. After their previous trip, Swansea went straight to the higher-ups and ripped them a new one, stating that “he couldn’t be expected to perform miracles”. When the crew was assigned this trip, they were all surprised that corporate had listened to Swansea’s complaints and granted them with another engineer. (Y/N) was self-sufficient, only really needing to work with Swansea to consult him on how best to move forward and with Daisuke when Swansea needed a break from his overzealousness. As a result, Curly saw and knew very little about her. “No, I’m afraid I haven’t. Why?”
“She’s due for her check-in as well but I haven’t seen her these past two days to tell her that. Go figure. We share a room yet recently she’s been waking up earlier and sleeping later than I have. When I went to ask Swansea and Daisuke if they’d seen her, they said that they haven’t seen her at all today.”
“Huh. She’ll show up eventually. This ship only has so many places a person can be. If I see her, I’ll let her know to go straight to you. Thanks, Anya.” He patted her shoulder lightly before heading out, making his way back to the cockpit to fulfill his duties.
In the evening, the crew convened at the table for dinner. Curly always looked forward to this time of day, where everyone had finished all of their tasks and could open up with light hearted banter. With only the six of them on the ship for over a year, all they had were each other, and he cherished all of his crew members. Anya and Swansea were chatting to the left of him about Swansea’s kids back on Earth. To his right, he saw Jimmy get increasingly agitated as Daisuke tried convincing him to swap dinners with him. That’s when he spotted the empty chair across from him and realized that (Y/N) was still missing.
No one was concerned by her absence; it was a common occurrence, and he trusted Daisuke and Swansea to be in the loop about what she was up to and would report to him if anything happened. During the work day, everyone was so consumed with their jobs and couldn’t afford to worry about the whereabouts of the others, unless they needed to lend a hand. Curly wasn’t an exception to this. As the captain it was his responsibility to make sure his crew members were okay and that things were moving along nicely, and so far there wasn’t anything out of the ordinary that indicated otherwise. With everyone finishing up their dinner, clean up began before people bid each other goodnight.
In the middle of the night, he woke up parched. Debating whether or not to get a glass of water, he finally got out of bed and made his way to the lounge where the kitchen was. Leaving his room, he could hear a faint clacking noise grow slightly louder the closer he got to the lounge entrance. Opening the door to the lounge, he was finally met with the sixth crew member whom no one had seen all day. Sitting at the dining table, (Y/N) rested her feet on the seat of her chair and had her knees drawn up to her chest. All around her were books and loose papers scattered about. Her hair was messed up, likely a direct cause of the hand she kept on her head, fingernails digging into her scalp. Curly gently cleared his throat, trying to make her aware of his presence. Shooting a tired glance his way, her eyes widened a bit before immediately sitting up straight and tidying her hair. She looked guilty, like she was caught in the middle of doing something she wasn’t supposed to be doing.
“Finally, we get to see her. Where have you been, Miss Absentee?” He sent a small smile her way, walking over to her.
“C-Captain! What are you doing up? It’s quite late.” (Y/N) nervously fidgeted.
“Just up for a glass of water. What are you doing up so late is the real question.” He crossed his arms.
“Just doing a bit of work. Can’t get enough of it.” She joked dryly. Curly frowned and pulled the chair next to her to take a seat. She sighed and leaned back, finally relaxing from tensing up after seeing Curly enter the room. (Y/N) didn’t know her captain well, and as such she always tried her best to save face and remain professional with him, but at this hour of the night, she was too tired to keep up with decorum.
He leaned on the table, facing her. “I know we may not be as close as you are with Swansea and Daisuke, or even Anya, but as your captain I care about how you’re doing and I want you to open up to me.” Her expression became hesitant as she shifted in her seat. “We’re all busy and even though it’s common for you to go missing during meal times, seeing you like this now is making me worried about how you’re doing.”
(Y/N) kept quiet for a second, looking like she was mulling something over before picking up the object right in front of her. “Do you know what this is?”
“An abacus. Interesting that you have one.” he said.
“Yeah.” she sighed. She moved her gaze from Curly to the plastic Polle statue in the corner of the room. “Before I got on the Tulpar, they had given me all of the supplies I needed to fulfill my duties and do what they asked of me. I had met Swansea only briefly before so he could give me manuals and maps of the ship’s layout. I got the uniform, the steel-toed boots, notebooks, writing utensils, and a solar-powered calculator.” (Y/N) shook her head. “You’d think that would be enough to prepare me to be here, but no . If only there was a way to have a bit of sunlight in outer space in a ship with no windows. They gave me something so crucial but useless out here. I had brought the abacus on board with me for sentimental reasons, but ironically enough it’s the only thing here that allows me to do my job.” She glanced back at him. “I’m not sure if you were aware, but Pony Express lied and said this was an internship for graduate students. Little did I know I’d be thrown into something I wasn’t going to have much guidance in. I needed a break from my PhD and even though the pay wasn’t that great, I was desperate for some sort of escape from academia. I thought going to space would give me that, but every day I wake up is a constant reminder that I’m so underqualified. Swansea is an expert with the mechanical side of the ship and he’s helped me a great deal, but the fluid mechanics and thermodynamics of it all are things he knows nothing about. So I’m here, trying my best to play catch-up and praying that I figure out a solution so that this ship has enough fuel, enough air to last us an entire year, and that the Tulpar doesn’t pop like a pressurized soda bottle while we’re out here.”
“(Y/N)...” Curly’s voice died at her name, shocked at this revelation and disappointed he somehow didn’t know about her struggle sooner. “I had no idea what you were going through. You always seemed to have a grasp on your tasks and Swansea always praised the work you did, so I just assumed you weren’t having a hard time adjusting. Have you told any of this to Anya during your evaluations?”
“No… I really wanted to believe that I could do it and stick it out, and so far, thank God, I’ve just barely made it every time. I really wanted you and the rest of the crew to believe I was capable and worthy of being here.” He cautiously put a hand on her shoulder, testing the waters on how he should comfort her.
“You are worthy of being here. The fact that we’ve been having such a smooth trip with no complications so far makes that obvious. I really appreciate you opening up to me now. I want to do everything I can to make sure you aren’t stressed about your work. You need to get rest and eat like the rest of us. Sure, none of us are a chemical engineering smarty pants like you, but you can always ask for help, even if it’s just for something like bringing you food or running errands around the ship.” He smiled at her, and she weakly reciprocated the gesture.
“I’ll keep that in mind for next time. Thank you, Curly.” Too tired to remember formalities, (Y/N) let out a big yawn, much to his amusement.
“So are you gonna go to bed?” He asked. She threw her head back and groaned in defeat, murmuring a “yes”. “Good! I hope I get to see more of you around now that you’ll be asking for help, yes?”
“Yes, of course, Captain. I’ll see you tomorrow.” The both of them stood up, (Y/N) to head to her quarters and Curly to finally get his glass of water. Before completely leaving, she paused and turned back. “Oh, and Captain?”
“Hmm?” He raised his head up to look at her again.
“I know you have a lot of responsibility on your shoulders looking after all of us. Please, rely on me too.” She smiled gently.
“Goodnight, (Y/N).” He called after her as she slipped through the door. He felt content that he was making good progress to gaining the trust of the crew member he knew the least. It always made him feel good to be the reliable captain he hoped everyone viewed him as. Having that conversation with (Y/N) made him a little more relaxed now that she had opened up to him for the first time.

Costumes
Mapi Leon x fem!reader
SMUT 18+
summary: just the regular halloween bsf to lovers
“-Ria please!”
“No! There is no way I’m dressing up, especially as a pirate.” Mapi exclaims, continuing to scroll through her phone. You turn around from the full-body mirror and slump on the bed next to the older girl.
“But it’s a costume party with the team. We can’t show up bare.” You protest while placing your chin on her chest, making her look down at you, seeing your pleading eyes stare back at her.
She turns off her phone and places it next to her before sighing, “Hermosa, I don’t want to dress up. Can’t we just stay in and watch movies together like tradition?”
Ever since you were little, one of you would go to the other’s house and watch a bunch of Halloween movies while stuffing your face with junk. The two of you have been best friends for years, and now you both play for Barcelona together. You’re both attached to the hip.
Without your knowledge, Mapi has been in love with you for some time now. If you weren’t painfully oblivious, you might have been able to figure it out a while ago.
So seeing you give her your best puppy eyes while pleading for her to do this with you, she has no other choice and mumbles, “Fine.”
“Seriously?” You jump up from your spot with a bright smile on your face, making the other girl melt.
“You better get the costumes before I change my mind.” She grumbles, going back to her phone but secretly smiling when you run out of the room to grab the costumes from your car.

“Ay dios mio, I look like an idiot!” Mapi exclaims as she tugs on the brown coat and white collar of the shirt.
She’s cut off when you open the bathroom door and walk out in a white shoulder-less shirt with a brown corset over it, matching the blonde’s coat, and a red long skirt with a matching bandana. The corset that tightens right below your chest allows your boobs to pop out more, distracting the older girl.
You notice her raking her eyes up and down your figure. “What? Does it look okay?”
Mapi snaps out of her thoughts and nods her head. “Y-yeah, you look…great.” She stops her complaints about her costume as she drools over how good she looks.
“Not too bad yourself sailor.” You giggle while adjusting her hat, making the other girl’s breath hitch. “Are we ready?”
The blonde sighs and begrudgingly nods her head. “You sure we have to go?”
“Yes, now come on Grump Sparrow, we’ve got treasure to find.” Mapi groans as you grab the side of her coat, dragging her with you to the awaiting car.
When you both arrive at the club, you see your Barca teammates all in a rounded booth with their designated costumes on. Multiple people are dancing on the floor dressed as devils, angels, cats, etc.
“Oh my god, I can’t believe my eyes. Mapi dressed as a pirate? Someone start taking photos!” Lucy yells while searching for her phone, making the rest of the team laugh while Mapi rolls her eyes as you pat her arm in fake sympathy, laughing with the rest of your friends.
“Okay, okay, get all your laughs out. I’m going to start drinking, do you want anything?” She asks you, in which you nod in return. “The usual?”
Once you nod again, Mapi heads over to the bar to get your drinks. You take a seat next to Alexia at the end of the booth and across from Ona.
“Hola, amiga.” Alexia greets you, wrapping her arm around your shoulders. You return her greeting and start a conversation with her while waiting for Mapi. “Y’know, Maria wouldn’t wear matching costumes for just anyone.”
Alexia is the only person who knows about your deep crush on the defender. Her being captain and also being very observant has its perks, so she easily picked up on your always flustered state around your childhood friend.
“Um, what do you mean?”
Alexia sighs at your obliviousness and says, “Oh I don’t know, maybe that she feels the same way!”
“No. There’s no way!” You both begin to whisper, bickering at each other until Mapi returns, sitting down right next to you.
“Here you go, hermosa.” Taking your drink, you smile at her but notice her focus on Alexia. Then you remember the weight on your shoulders, Alexia’s arm still wrapped around you, making the blonde next to you glare at the other woman. As the tension thickens, the arm around you removes itself from you, stopping the consistent looks.
You clear your throat and thank Mapi, soon sipping on your drink to get drunk faster. Alexia’s foot stomps on yours, telling you that the jealousy is clear.
Soon conversations start getting weird, drinks go down faster and faster, and everyone gets more tipsy as the night goes on. The whole team is on the dance floor besides you and Alexia who continue to sip on your drinks while watching everyone.
“So when are you going to tell her?”
“Ale, I don’t know if I can. I don’t want to ruin 23 years of friendship because of a stupid crush. I’ll get over it.” You shrug, causing the pink-haired girl next to you to frown.
“She feels the same. Trust me, you saw the way she reacted when she saw us.”
You just sigh in response and think about all the things that can happen. You can confess in hopes of her returning your feelings or you can get rejected and risk losing your number one person. Your thoughts are stopped by said person coming over to you, pulling your arm towards her.
“C’mon, hermosa! Time to dance!” Mapi shouts over the booming music as she pulls you onto the crowded dance floor. You down your drink in one gulp and begin to sway your hips and arms to the music with the older girl.
The alcohol floods through both of your veins as you start to grind on your best friend. Her hands grip on your hips, guiding you to keep going. Soon you turn back around and grab at her biceps.
“Maybe you should be called Jacked Sparrow.” You tease with a lopsided grin, making the other girl laugh.
“If you’re Swann, I want to be Turner.” Your breath hitches as her face gets closer to you; her eyes flickering down to your lips. “Let’s get out of here, yeah?”
In a trance, you nod your head and allow her to drag you through the crowd, stumbling occasionally from getting pushed. You take one glance over your shoulder and see Alexia with a smirk on her face, raising her glass in fake cheers.
—
You fiddle with your keys, trying to get your door open while Mapi hugs your waist from behind and breathes against your ear, making you shudder against her.
Finally, the click of the lock allows you both to push open the door and rush in. You giggle when Mapi’s hand wraps around your wrist and drags you to the couch. She sits down first and grabs the back of your thighs, trying to pull you into her lap which she succeeds in. Your skirt rides up to allow your legs to sit on each side of the girl's thighs. She leans up, stopping centimeters before your lips, her hat long gone so it doesn’t poke at you.
“Is this okay?”
“Yes, yes it’s okay, please just kiss me.”
She smiles before finally attaching her lips to yours in a soft kiss. You have imagined this more times than you’d like to admit, but it’s so much better than your imagination. The kiss starts sweet and innocent but soon turns more needy and sloppy. You pause and pull back, wincing which worries the blonde defender below you.
“What? What’s wrong? Did I hurt you?” She quickly rambles but stops when you wave her off.
“No, no it’s just this corset. It’s poking at my boobs.”
You both begin to laugh together while she moves her hand to your back and unties it to loosen it. Once she is done pulling all the strings she unbuttons the front and takes it off before throwing it somewhere on the floor.
“So back to kissing?” She asks, puckering her lips and squeezing her eyes shut, making you giggle at her antics. She smiles at the sound before placing her hands on the back of your neck and pulling you down to reattach your lips.
Your fingertips brush along the tattoo on her neck as she slips her tongue into your mouth. You turn your head slightly, deepening the kiss while your other hand grips onto her bicep. Her head moves down to the underside of your jaw, peppering kisses down the column of your throat, making you dig your nails into her arm while your other wraps around the back of her neck. She hisses at the burning sensation of your fingers gripping her skin, but it turns her on even more.
“Bedroom?” You whisper, pecking her lips a few times. She nods and stands up, carrying you with her as you wrap your legs around her waist.
She gently sits you on the bed while she takes off her leather coat. The street light from outside gleams into the bedroom, allowing you to have just enough light without having to turn on any lamps. You start to unbutton her shirt under her gaze. She lets you tug off her clothes, enjoying the sight of it, but when you unbuckle her belt while staring up at her with puppy eyes, it makes her go feral. She pulls down her pants, leaving her in a bra and underwear, and then grabs your face, pulling you into a heated kiss.
“You are so beautiful.”
You blush at her comment and pull off your bandana as Mapi starts to pull at the hem of your shirt. Getting the message, you tug your arms out the sleeves of the shirt, helping out the desperate girl who quickly lifts it over your head as soon as she can. Shortly after, she yanks down your skirt, revealing your matching white set of simple lingerie which you put on before leaving, hoping that something like this would happen by the end of the night.
Mapi signals for you to move up the bed so she can fit on with you. She hovers over you and leans down for a breathtaking kiss, slotting your bottom lip in between yours before playfully tugging at it while pulling away. She places a simple kiss right below your ear before her hand gently grabs your jaw and turns your head all the way to the side, pressing your cheek against the silky sheets. You moan at the feeling of her tongue sliding from the base of your neck up to the bottom of your ear.
“Don’t worry, amor. I’m going to make you feel so good.” She whispers, her breath fanning over the side of your face, making butterflies flutter in your stomach, but also making the ache between your legs stronger.
Her hand trails under you and onto your back, grasping the clasp of your bra. She looks at you real quick, quietly asking for consent. “It’s okay, baby. I want this, I want this really bad.”
She unhooks your bra and slides it off of you, flinging it on the floor. She sits up slightly, admiring how good you are right now with your chest heaving and your hair spewed out across the bed.
“Gorgeous.” She says softly before moving her lips to your beck once again. Her teeth sink into your skin once in a while, definitely leaving marks littered along your neck. An occasional whine slips out from your lips at the slightest sensation of her mouth.
Soon she starts to trail her lips lower and onto your chest, wrapping her lips around your hardened nipple while her hand gropes the other one. She switches sides, giving the other the same attention as she gave the one before.
The noises from your mouth become more frequent the closer she gets down to your core. She’s now leaving kisses around your belly button and over the fabric of your white panties. You buck your hips up with a moan when she licks a stripe up your clothed slit as your hands grip harder into the sheets.
“Please, Ria.”
“Tell me what you want, amor, and I’ll make it worth your while.” She taunts sultrily, teasingly placing kisses on your underwear.
“Anything, your fingers, mouth, anything.” You plead, continuing to buck your hips closer to her face.
Her fingers curl at the waistband of the white fabric and slowly pulls it down while trailing kisses with it. You whine in anticipation but are cut off by a loud moan slipping past your lips when her mouth attaches to your clit. She licks down to your slit and gathers up your arousal before dipping her tongue into your dripping hole.
Your back arches slightly as moans spew out of your mouth consistently. Mapi flips from thrusting her tongue in and out of you to sucking and flicking your clit. She sits up for a second, causing you to whine at the absence of your pleasure, so when you look up you see her tying her blonde hair up into a ponytail so it doesn’t get in her way. Her arms wrap around your thighs, allowing her hands to press against the top of them while she shoves her face further into your pussy.
She continues on her previous assault, making your orgasm approach a lot faster than you thought. The girl in between your legs notices when your moans become louder and your back arches higher, causing her to press one of her hands on your stomach to shove you down. Your hand subconsciously scratches her arm in pleasure as she flicks her tongue faster over your clit.
With one final push, you’re moaning loudly and seeing stars while Mapi continues to gently lick until your high is over.
“T-that was amazing.” You pant after experiencing one of the best orgasms you have ever experienced.
“Oh, we’re not done yet, princesa.”
You’re about to question her when you’re interrupted by her fingers plunging into you. She’s now kneeling on her knees while her unoccupied hand holds your thigh open, giving her easier access. Your hips slightly shy away from her touch due to overstimulation, but that doesn’t stop you from the euphoric pleasure you’re receiving.
The sound of your wetness can be heard echoing in the room from the blonde’s fingers working at a fast pace in and out of you. You both know you’re not going to last long since you’re still recovering from the last orgasm she gave you.
“Oh god, I-I’m gonna cum. It feels different though.” Mapi senses the worry in your voice but knows exactly what’s happening.
“Just let go, amor. It’ll feel good, I promise.”
With a few more strokes of her fingers, your inner muscles tense as you cum. The sound of her digits slamming into you begins to sound different, wetter in your opinion. Your orgasm lasts longer than you expect as you moan extremely loudly, probably waking up the neighbors.
Once you’ve calmed down, Mapi removes her fingers and you look down between your legs to see a huge wet spot.
You cover your face with your hands and groan out, “This is so embarrassing! Did I just wet the bed during sex?”
The blonde chuckles before grabbing your hands to remove them from your face. “No you didn’t wet the bed, have you never done that before?”
You shake your head no in response and ask, “What happened?”
“You squirted is what they call it I guess. It’s basically when you experience a very intense orgasm.” She explains while you nod your head in understanding. “Felt good didn’t it?”
“Really good.” You giggle before nuzzling your face into the girl’s chest. She laughs lightly and kisses your forehead as she wraps her arms gently around your frame. You start to tiptoe your hand to the clasp of her bra before you are cut off by a stern look. “What? I want you to feel good too, baby.”
“I do feel good. Right now, with you in my arms.”
“But-“
“Hey, we got all the time in the world to go again, if you let me take you on a date?” Her usual silly and cocky behavior is shifted to a more nervous tone as she bites her lip, waiting for your answer.
“I think we’re past the first date phase, Ria. I have been in love with you for so long.”
“I’ve been in love with you for I don’t even know how long.” Mapi breathes in relief, making you smile widely and leaning up for a passionate kiss. You both soak in everything that just happened and pour all your emotions into this single kiss. “Will you be my girlfriend?”
You laugh at the vibration of her mumbling into your lips, but you all but nod in return, causing the both of you to smile into the kiss.
“Alexia is going to be so happy this finally happened.”
“Wait- she knew about your feelings for me?” You ask in disbelief.
“Well duh, I was pretty obvious and she sees all knows all. The whole team basically knows. You’re just oblivious.”
“Am not.” You pout which makes the blonde pull you back into her chest.
“Awe don’t pout, amor. You’re my oblivious girl.” Mapi tries to reason as you huff in response.
“Ale knew about my feelings too.”
“What?!”

pleeease give a review for infinity nikki ive been thinking about downloading it but i dont know if i have the space and if its worth it to clear some up for it !!!
as someone who spent HOURS on flash-based dollmakers as a kid, i absolutely love it. the gameplay hits somewhere between dressup game and open-world RPG, in that there's a large botw-like open map to explore, but the express purpose of exploring it is to unlock new clothes for your character. The exploration itself feels very calm and cozy most of the time, with the emphasis being on small collection tasks like fishing, bug-catching, and foraging. again, all of this is specifically to craft new outfits for nikki which you can both coordinate with no limitations to wear in the open world and use in scored styling contests with npcs, some of which reward you with game currency and some of which help you progress the story quests. the only place where i feel the gameplay truly suffers is in combat. you have one attack, and it's a ranged shooter, but there's no aim-assist whatsoever, and the mobile joystick isn't NEARLY sensitive enough to justify this. aiming in combat is one of the most difficult parts of the game, and nikki can only take 5 hits before she dies and has to respawn, making combat decently frustrating. However, there are very few places where combat is strictly necessary in-game, and both of the boss battles i've done so far had hitboxes large enough that it wasn't an issue; it's really in the open world against hordes of smaller enemies that the lack of targeting becomes really frustrating. other than that, though, the controls are fairly well-designed and intuitive, especially if you've played similar games before.
The clothes themselves are the star of the show, of course. I've yet to see a single clothing item in the game that I don't want. there's a good mix of fancy intricate outfit pieces and basics to obtain early-on, and without even touching the gacha you can coordinate some really cute outfits via in-universe boutiques and quests that reward you with clothes. Even the very obviously themed ability outfit sets that you craft early on almost always have a few pieces that are easy to mix and match with, so there's a TON of styling potential even for free players! As for the gacha, it's actually one of the more generous games i've played in terms of rewards and pity systems. My one complaint so far is that the 5-star gacha outfits especially seem to be very accessory-heavy, meaning it's possible to pull shoes, multiple necklaces, gloves, socks, and hairpieces before ever pulling the dress they're very obviously designed around. there is a pity mechanic to prevent this, but it requires you to pull a few too many times before your guarantee imo.
The story is ridiculous in a good way. It kind of reads like a 2000s-era barbie movie to me right now, in the best way possible. there's an amazingly predictable sexy villain, cute little flying creatures that follow you around, and every conflict is, of course, solved via clothes in one way or another. My absolute favorite thing about the writing, though, is how blatantly earnest it all is. at no point does the game poke fun at its own wacky concept or even attempt to make some self-aware joke about it to the player--it plays everything completely straight, and in this aspect it almost feels MORE self-aware. it knows that the kind of person who wants to play a dressup rpg is also the kind of person who does not, under any circumstances whatsoever, want to be questioned or made fun of for their love of fashion or their engagement with that game. It very much feels like the devs know that they're working with primarily girls and young women and a subject matter that those girls and young women are often looked down upon or made fun of for seriously engaging with, and so it promises to engage EXTRA-seriously to make up for that. (side note: there's one point in a story quest where, when asked to make a wish, nikki wishes that all girls never get cramps again. that was when i knew this was a game that knew its audience.) If I wanted to nitpick, i might say that every quest so far has sort of felt like an increasingly ridiculous trading sequence--you learn what you need to do very early on, but you'll always spend several hours of gameplay encountering obstacles and doing other smaller tasks to circumvent those obstacles so you can reach your original goal. this might annoy me more if the game was trying to market itself as a serious RPG, but it seems very self-aware to me, and despite how i'm describing it none of the quests ive played have actually FELT tedious. I think the fact that it's such a wild concept to begin with gives the writers a bit of leeway in how they handle the story quests, and because I as the player am aware i'm playing a dressup game I don't really expect quests to immediately get to the point and let me fight something. I will say that there are certain things that aren't super intuitive especially if you aren't a seasoned gacha rpg player, particularly the features relating to advancing your skills and the styling points of your clothing. though the game does technically explain what you need to do, it doesn't explain the RELEVANCE of the feature, just that it exists, so I had to lose multiple styling contests before I realized i could upgrade my clothing to get higher scores.
The final thing I'll talk about is performance. I'm playing the game on my iphone 13, and the performance is.... not great, i'm ngl. Off the bat, if you play the game on a mobile device, you're going to be getting a HEAVILY scaled-down version of the terrain graphics. all of those screenshots you see online of beautiful terrain full of flowers and particle effects are from ps5s or custom pcs. truthfully, the mobile app looks like a game from 2012 and it will still turn your phone into an incinerator. I've also encountered multiple graphics bugs, some during pivotal scenes, and I get consistent lags when playing for longer than a few hours, likely due to the strain on my phone's hardware. it's also an INSANE battery drain, so i only play when my phone is plugged in. All that being said, the game has been out for less than a week, so visual bugs are inevitable, and the developers have stated that mobile optimization is a priority, so hopefully we'll at the very least no longer have to overheat our devices to play it soon. Also worth noting, from what I've seen the rendering of the CLOTHING doesn't suffer AT ALL on mobile devices. presumably they sacrificed terrain rendering to allow for such beautiful texturing on the clothing itself, which, given that the clothing is the main focus of the game, I can't fault them for. Basically, if you're going to try to run an unreal engine game on your iphone, be aware that it will run like an unreal engine game on an iphone. and prepare yourself to have to let your device cool down every few hours.
tldr: i love the game so far. i'm really excited to keep playing and see where the story goes, and I think they should make more games for girls <3
#asks#infinity nikki#<3 <3 <3#did anyone here ever play style savvy as a kid? it's not the same by any means but in terms of the clothes it very much has the same vibes#in that there's a great balance of basics and complex pieces and an insane amount of styling potential. god i loved style savvy#I barely ever went to my store in that game i'd just buy out the depot over and over so i could make new outfits for my character#OH ALSO other note: I really appreciated that despite being open-world and having so much jump-based platforming the game blatantly refused#to EVER allow for panty-shots no matter what outfit nikki is in. her skirt will not fly up while she's exploring#and when you remove her clothes in the dressup menu she gets a nice tasteful little tank top and shorts set! no oversexualization here <3#again a great example of the game knowing its audience

for kinktober: Eddie Munson giving oral to a transmasc reader?
ofc, thanks for the kinktober request <3 (I really hope he isn't out of character here)
Kinktober 2024 Day 18: Eddie Munson giving oral to a transmasc reader
Warnings: smut/nsfw content, cunnilingus/oral sex (reader receiving), slight hair pulling, Eddie's a massive tease, swearing
You were over at Eddie's trailer for what was supposed to be guitar lessons. You'd always wanted to learn, and luckily for you the town's resident bad boy not only owned a guitar himself but was also kind enough to offer to teach you how to play. That's what you'd initially planned on doing, anyway, until things got sidetracked in one of the lewdest ways possible.
He definitely didn't expect you to show up wearing cut-off shorts with a spaghetti-strap tank top of all things, but in your defense Hawkins had been having an unusually hot fall and you didn't want to be sitting in a trailer that had no air conditioner for hours on end while you were sweating your ass off.
"Damn, sweetheart. I was going to make a joke about you having to repay me for guitar lessons, but if you're going to show up dressed like this every time I guess there's no need," he lightly teased, letting his eyes linger on your bare arms and legs a bit longer than he probably should.
"Haha, very funny, Munson." You thought nothing of his comments as you rolled your eyes, chalking them up to being nothing more than the usual flirty quips he'd throw out whenever he saw you. It wasn't as if he was attracted to you or anything like that, he just acted like that around everyone his age. That's what you'd convinced yourself, anyway.
"Seriously, you should wear shorts more often. The legs on you are enough to make a man drool," he continued with a cheeky smirk, watching as you flopped down on his bed with a certain sense of casual ease. You'd been over to his place so often you didn't even think twice about it. "And don't even get me started on those arms and collarbones."
"Yeah, yeah. I get it already, you pervert," you lightheartedly complained while tossing a pillow in his direction, which he caught before it could hit him in the face. You hated to admit it, but the playful compliments he was throwing your way was starting to actually have an affect on you. You could feel your face growing hot, and it wasn't due to the weather.
Eddie wasn't stupid, either, despite what other people might think. He knew just how much his words were getting to you, which is why he wasn't at all fazed by your complaints or the way you threw one of his pillows at him.
"Ouch, sweetheart. That really hurts to know a pervert is all you view me as," he feigned offence while making his way over to the bed, setting the pillow back down as he sat next to you. "And here I thought you might actually like me."
"Oh, shut up," you huffed with another eye roll, starting to run out of retorts to his nonstop teasing. If you didn't know any better, you'd think he actually liked you, but there was no way that was possible.
"Make me." He leaned in some, the smirk that was on his face having widened into a grin. He wasn't really expecting you to do anything in response except for maybe giving him a shove before telling him to knock it off, but you were feeling a little bit bold today, bolder than usual.
Maybe it was the outfit you were wearing, maybe it was the heat, but whatever the case may be you were willing to take his dare and run with it. Which is how you found yourself laying back on his bed without your shorts or underwear on, his face trapped between your thighs as he ate you out like a starved man.
"Oh- Oh, my God-" You moaned out loudly as you arched your back up off the bed, your hand finding its way to his hair and giving it a sharp tug. "God, yes- Just like that-"
You could practically feel the way his lips were turned upwards into a smug position at your desperate cries of pleasure, and you had no doubt that he was enjoying this just as much as you were.
His tongue moved expertly throughout your dripping wet folds, zigzagging from one area to another as he slurped happily. The cold metal from his rings dug into the soft flesh of your thighs as he gripped them tightly, keeping them spread apart.
"God, baby, you taste even better than you look," he mused out loud as he lifted his head up some to glance at you, seeming amused by the way you shoved his head back down with your hand.
"I thought I told you to shut up already." Your words held no real malice to them, but he could tell you were going to be pissed if he kept denying you, so he didn't push it.
"Jesus, baby boy, calm down. I was just trying to give you a compliment, sweetheart, that's all." His mouth met your pussy again, pulling a long and loud whine from you when his nose intentionally bumped into your clit.
"You're doing this on purpose, you bastard," you accused while tightening your grip on his hair, something that made him let out a groan that seemed to reach your very core when the vibrations of the sound hit your pussy.
"Sorry," came out his muffled response as he finally stopped teasing you and got back to work at eating you out like he was supposed to be doing in the first place. You left out a quiet sigh of relief that was shortly followed by a series of needy moans, your fingers lacing through his hair as a grounding mechanism.
Learning how to play the guitar may have been a fun idea, but getting head from the guitarist himself ending up being a much better one, especially when he made you see stars from how good he was at doing it.

ros reaction to super sick mc who still insists on going on missions
(Sorry about the delay! Hope this is okay).
S: They take their role as leader very seriously. It’s not only your life they are watching over; it’s the others, too. So, even if you want to come on the mission, S will politely but assertively remind you of the danger you could place others in if you aren’t one hundred percent well.
“I’m sorry, darling, but your mission is to remain in bed, rest, stay hydrated and regain your strength. Do that, and I promise we will perform our own mission admirably and promptly.”
Rain: They debate for a long time in their head about what to do. They never want to undermine you, but they also don’t want to see you suffering, putting yourself in danger for the sake of a stupid mission. So, instead, they ensure your bedside is well supplied with recovery items and climb into bed beside you.
“It’s okay, MC. I’ve convinced S to let me stay with you at home. They’ll be fine. You need to concentrate on getting better.”
Taj: Taj glares at you as you hopelessly shuffle around the room, attempting to throw together gear for a mission. Eventually, their patience runs out, and they place their hands on your arms, firmly directing you back to bed.
“You are so damn stubborn, Koel,” they moan, guiding you back into bed. “No complaints. You are going to make S’s job ten times harder in that state. Just stay home. Get better.” They kneel beside your bed, holding your hand delicately as if afraid it might break. “Do it for me. Please.”
N: N spends some time watching you force yourself to behave normally with an amused glint in their eye. It’s adorable watching you muffle your coughs and dabbing at your eyes every time you hold back a sneeze. Eventually, the spectacle becomes too pitiable, even for them.
“That’s enough, my dear. As much as I am savouring your show of bravado, I think it is quite clear you are not up to the task. Instead, why don’t we lounge about in bed all day and revel in my attentive hands? Much more enjoyable, yes?”
Umbra: Umbra paces around you restlessly, twirling their fingers in their hands in an anxious habit. Every time you go to pack another item into your bag for the mission, it “magically” disappears from its usual spot before you can get to it. When it becomes clear Umbra’s hijacking of your packing isn’t deterring you, Umbra settles for sitting on your bag, blocking you from reaching it.
“Please stay home, MC. I-I’ll stay with you. We can play board games or watch television while I make you some tea with honey… You spend so much time taking care of others. It’s time to let someone take care of you for a change.”

How to show and how not to show a serious topic, Hazbin Hotel and Rick and Morty comparison.
WARNING THIS POST CONTAINS GRAPHIC DECEPTIONS AND DISCUSSIONS OF S//A AND ASSAULT TOWARDS MINORS. IT IS ALL FICTION. IF ANY OF THESE ARE TRIGGERING FEEL FREE TO LEAVE
So I was watching Rick and Morty Meseeks and Destroy and it baffled me how they handled a sensitive subject much better than Hazbin Hotel. Let's start off by Hazbin Hotel's depiction shall we? For context for those who don't know, Angel Dust is a porn star who gets s//a by his boss Val for what seems to be in the regular. This is shown in a song with very suggestive lyrics while he is heavily sexualized. Feels a lot like fetish content.
But that's not even the worst part, there are s//a scenes made by someone who fetishizes s//a. Warning these images are graphic and can be triggering. These are also randomly shown throughout the song, they also give no warning for this so you can't even fully skip the scene since its not one scene.
And they also joke about s//a in a later episode, which I like dark humor, but make it make sense. What do you want people to take seriously?
Now, how does Rick and Morty handle it? They do show a different subject, with Morty nearly getting violated by Mr. Jellybean. You may not need context since this scene did get popular, but Morty made a bet with Rick that they could do a simple, fun adventure. Morty is around 14 while Rick appears to be in his late 50s early 60s.Rick agrees to the bet and they go on the adventure. They do make a joke about r*pe but it is done by Rick which is in character with him being cycincal and this was done before the scene.
Now eventually they are walking down steps and Morty stops by the bathroom. In the bathroom he meets Mr. Jellybean. He appears to be nice which shows how predators aren't obvious. They normally seem nice
Now everything seems fine, but then Mr. Jellybean gets...touchy. Morty gets uncomfortable and attempt to leave but Mr. Jellybean forces him to stay.
Now this is where the triggering scene starts, trigger warning. Nothing happens thank god due to Morty being able to fight him off. And the scene, while triggering can be skipped easily since it's one scene as a whole.
This scene was made to show how horrifying attempted r*pe is. There is a dark joke about how Rick is having a good time but this does fit with the show's dark humor
I do believe they should've put a trigger warning, but that's my only complaint about the scene in general. Morty goes out of the bathroom and begs Rick to just go home, Morty cries for the first time in the series and it's really easy to feel bad for the poor kid who was clearly traumatized.
Rick catches onto what happens and choices to comfort the kid, arguably the biggest piece in the show is nice for the first time here.
This cheers Morty up for the moment until they see Mr Jellybean again and Morty immediately leaves with Rick.
He does eventually get his karma shortly after by getting shot by Rick
Rick and Morty handled this better by not sexualizing their character while spreading awearness, treating the situation seriouslt and showing how horrifying it is, and not getting some who fetishizes r*pe to make the scene. We also get to see the biggest piece of shit in the show be nice for the first time. It shows how predators often come off as nice. This is definitely the darkest I'll ever get with my posts, but I hope you enjoyed reading it and agreed with me.

can i just say i love your fics SMMMM my serotonin boost fr!!! what do we think abt him with an s/o who has a lot of admirers 👁
THANK YOUU here is a treat 4 u <3
sorry i ended up doing too much and also going off-topic a bit oops
it ended up becoming modern au!sukuna 😭 forgive me (gender neutral reader)
sukuna is so used to being the one overshadowing the others - he's used to being the one admired, revered, respected, for his power and intelligence. it's safe to say he'd also be used to seeing people fight each other just for a lick of his attention - desiring for even just a glance from his way. so it's a given that he's not used to feelings of possessiveness or jealousy.
but now that he has you, someone who always has others admiring you from both closeby and afar, he's beginning to understand those petty sensations and thoughts. he's obviously never one to be insecure about your popularity, on most occasions, he even likes to make a show of it - he enjoys seeing them gnashing their teeth with envy as he flaunts his relationship with you in front of their faces - "see this? all mine," he seems to say, as he openly kisses you in public.
but when it catches him on a bad day, perhaps following a bad argument, he sees you with someone who is obviously interested in being more than just a friend to you (which you're not aware of, frustratingly so), and he starts feeling sick to his stomach. with everyone else who came before you, sukuna would simply tell them "don't like it? then leave," whenever they voiced complaints to him about their relationship... but now it's the opposite of what he wants. just the thought of you being with someone that isn't him gets his heart dropping to the ground, making him feel restless.
he knows he isn't the best at being soft. nor at using the kindest words when he gets heated. he'll always be more selfish than selfless, and he's not the most emotionally intelligent. it's unlike him to use words like 'i'm sorry' or 'i love you' so he's uneasy for the moment where you might find someone who'll be everything that he isn't amongst your sea of admirers, and that you'll leave him and never look back.
it's simply so humiliating, feeling this way... he's not sure what to do about it. you seem to be seriously upset this time around, and he knows brushing past it or glossing over it using his usual charm (which is a bad habit that he has) isn't going to work. you're not acknowledging him or responding to his texts properly or saying good morning or goodnight and it's driving him insane because he misses it... you're not looking at him. he's the one gazing at you, longingly.
sukuna will pin you down eventually, somewhere, somehow, and trap you so that you're not able to avoid him any longer. he'll drag you away from your stupid little crowd of spectators and talk to you in private, where'll spend ten minutes trying to apologise in a strange, roundabout and aggressive way because he knows it's his own damn fault. you know him, so you're able to recognise that he's trying to say sorry. your gaze is still elsewhere, looking off to the side instead of him. and that bothers him immensely.
"why won't you look at me?" god, he sounds so sad and pathetic.
truth is, sukuna now simply withers out and dies a little without your attention. what can he do to have that spotlight upon him once again? why are your eyes on anybody, anything, that isn't him? pay attention to me, and me only.
when you finally spare him a glance, he feels like breathing again. and he'll fight tooth and nail to keep that gaze of yours on him. fuck your insignificant and measly admirers. he's all you need, and sukuna's going to make sure of it. (he'll compromise for you, if he has to.)
he's definitely overstimming you in bed that night, in order to catch up on all the lost pride and attention that you'd deprived him of.
tagging; @gojos-thot-patrol <3 hope its to your liking.. even tho its not as angsty as i originally intended it to be haha

It's a shame about Astro Boy Epsilon 2003's design to be steeped lowkey in this "Well he's the most feminine of those seven robots so why not turn him into a girl" because his design is genuinely cute there, but also because of his more pacifist manners + caring nature, really sends an odd implication when it comes to turning of any of the famous robots from Astro Boy into a girl imho. Your comic really shined a light on that which I really enjoyed and it reminded me how while I enjoyed Astro boy 2003 it has its grounds to cover by how it changes things around
yeah I had the exact same thoughts! it's odd too that in 2003, epsilon doesn't retain the main qualities that make him such an interesting character- those being that he's a caretaker of human children, and his brief relationship with pluto. the former especially seems like such a missed opportunity given how much of a theme robot-human relationships are in the anime. we see plenty of other robots taking care of human children and the conflict that causes, so I don't see why one of those instances couldn't have been epsilon. it wouldve been a really smart way to integrate them more heavily into the plot. my only idea is the writers thought like "well if we make our only recurring powerful female robot a literal mother figure that feels pretty reductive" but it's not like the show isn't already sexist in other ways? and the consequence is that epsilon loses the things that made the audience care about him and becomes a pretty flat character. every other version of epsilon dies protecting a child. 2003 epsilon is defeated because she's worried about some random dolphins. it's kind of an emotional downgrade.
I don't mean to be overly negative though- I actually just finished watching the show last week and it was amazing. it had a perfect ending, which isn't something I can say for many things. AND most of the episodes range from "great" to "mindblowingly awesome and heartwrenching". there's so many good things to say about it- which is exactly why I get so critical of its few flaws, especially when it comes to things that felt like a downgrade from the manga. they stick out like a sore thumb! I could make plenty of complaints about the manga too (and I have, to my friends) but that doesn't stick in my craw as much because the manga is much less consistent in terms of quality. astro boy 2003 is a fantastic show and a really really smart adaptation apart from like, two things. and to be fair they're only things that will really bother you if you read the manga first, which I did. so if anyone reading this is an astro boy fan (or just likes robots tbh) and hasnt watched it for some reason...... do that. it's incredible, seriously. don't let my complaining scare you away.
#asks#tbh the way pluto is written bothers me WAY more than the way epsilon is written but thats a whole other can o' worms#and we have plenty of other great plutos and epsilons so i cant be too mad about it

Sighs so I’m sure a lot of people here saw that tweet that blew up about a TD movie “supposedly” being talked about by the production crew. I really don’t think this is going to happen and I wish everyone would shut up about it because a movie just doesn’t really work with TD’s format but what’s really pissing me off rn is how everyone is saying if this movie happens it’s for sure gonna be about gen 1. I into another fight with a genwunner about this and need to share some points I made:
So like, think about it: logistically, gen 1 coming back, at least not without pissing off some of the same fans who act like any TD content that doesn’t involve gen 1 isn’t feasible. First off, there’s the voice actors. Some of the gen 1 characters VAs no longer live in Canada and legally wouldn’t be allowed to be hired again to work with Fresh so they’d have to be replaced. Not to mention there’s several POC characters who have white VAs; you’re going to piss people off no matter what happens there (yes, I am on the side that POC characters shouldn’t be played by white VAs, but yeah there’s some people who very strongly disagree with that). Given how much genwunners whined about Chris’s VA change, I have no doubt they’d whine here too.
Second, a lot of genwunners complain that the reboot lacks the “edgy humor” of gen 1. The thing is, too much of the humor from gen 1 just wouldn’t fly today. I tried rewatching Action during the summer and literally could only get about 5 episodes in before quitting because of how disgusted I was by the constant misogynistic jokes. There’s definitely misogyny in the reboot too, but at least Chase and Ripper aren’t spewing it out literally every five fucking seconds like Duncan. There’s just so many jokes in gen 1 where the punchline is racism, homophobia or the characters being sexualized. That last one could be fixed if they visibly aged up the characters and stated that they’re all adults now, but given how many people have said the complaint that Owen wasn’t aged up for his reboot cameo is “ridiculous” I don’t think the genwunner crowd would be too fond of that idea. A highly profitable studio like WB isn’t going to approve a show with problematic humor without seriously watering it down before release because it’s 2024 and they know their studio releasing content like that marketed at children could get them labeled as problematic and lead to a drop in profits.
Speaking of which, a gen 1 movie probably wouldn’t do too well at the box office. Total drama is marketed at ages 8-16, the majority of whom were not alive during 2007-2010 when the first three seasons were airing. Given how successful the reboot was in both the US and UK, it’s safe to say that it’s very likely the reboot was popular with its target audience. When all the kids who watched the reboot hear about the movie, they’re gonna be really confused about why a total drama movie doesn’t have the total drama characters they’re familiar with in it. I know there’s plenty of people who grew up with gen 1 who are still active TD fans, but not a lot of adults care that much about shows they watched as kids and haven’t thought about in years. I’m an adult who loves cartoons (and there’s nothing wrong with that) but there’s def quite a few shows from my childhood that I haven’t thought about in a long time because I grew out of them and I certainly wouldn’t be opening my wallet to buy a movie ticket or streaming service subscription should I hear a movie was made about one of said shows. Again, there are plenty of people who grew up with the show who still care, but I don’t think the majority of the people who watched TD as kids who are well into their 20s now are gonna be all that excited about a movie. I could definitely be proven wrong on this one, don’t get me wrong, but still
As I said before I don’t think a TD movie is actually gonna happen and that tweet was just a rumor/misinformation, but if a TD movie does happen it needs to be about the reboot cast. It just doesn’t make sense for it to be about a cast that isn’t up to date with the standards of what is socially acceptable for children’s shows in the 2020s.

It would be so funny if the player could still send texts on their arc phone and decided to send every complaint directly to Arceus
Everything from "Those ungrateful bastards banished me" to "My tummy hurts :("
Bonus points if they hand the phone over to Volo or Ingo and let them rant at god for screwing them over
Tbh if it were me I would let Arceus know every single inconvenience I had with being thrown into the past with no warning.
You let Arceus know no peace, making it very clear of your feelings on the matter.
[There is a leak in my room. You know what didn't have a leak? My old home.]
[They deadass are sending me into the wild??? On my own?? Assuming I have no experience?? They want me dead, Arceus.]
[THEY DONT HAVE COFFEE]
[Why do I have to fight the big scary pokemon?? WHY IS IT A STRANGERS JOB-]
[I think Cynthia's ancestor is stalking me.]
[I REACHED TEN STARS FUCK YEAH]
[WHY do I have to solve this village's problems. How am I the only one doing anything to help here.]
[WHY IS THE TRAIN GUY FROM UNOVA HERE.]
[ANSWER ME ARCEUS.]
[ISNT THIS GUY A CELEBRITY???? ARCEUS. HOW LONG HAS HE BEEN HERE-]
[When i invent mac n cheese, its over for these assholes.]
[Do you think I could piss Cyrus off by adopting his great great grandmother as my own mom?]
[They fucking banned me, Arceus.]
[AFTER EVERYTHING I DID-]
[Volo is def stalking me btw. WHY is he the only one wanting to help me besides the nice lady who also looks like Cynthia-]
[THE SKY IS RED.]
[Did Kamado seriously send Beni to assassinate me or did I just hallucinate that whole encounter.]
[WHY IS IT I KEEPING MEETING PEOPLE WHO WANT TO DELETE THE UNIVERSE WITH GIRATINA]
[If i had a dollar for every time this has happened, i'd have two dollars. It isn't a lot, but its weird its happened twice-]
[HOW COME HE GETS LIKE THE EQUIVALENT OF 8 POKEMON AND I CANT]
[If you had just said hi to him we could have avoided me almost dying TWICE.]
Arceus almost never responds unless you have a genuine question, or need help. But you do find solace in complaining to it.
You later tell Volo that hey, like, you know things are kinda awkward, but you have a means of directly messaging Pokemon God-
He's shaking as you hand him the phone and show him how to use it. At first, Volo for once, doesn't know what to say. He had dreamt of unloading his problems onto Arceus many times, but now?
He is almost at a lost for words.
That is, until you reach around him, showing him your previous conversations.
"Yeah, see here? I kinda bitched at Arceus last week because I'm still not allowed to go home yet. I kinda just use the chat to vent about things most of the time."
Volo stares for a moment, until he's furiously typing. He doesn't stop typing for a good few minutes, sending one very long, winded message, before handing the phone back to you. It's the longest message you have ever seen sent on your phone
The merchant is awfully quiet after that for a little while.

I WANNA TALK ABOUT THE FUCKING EISNERS-
i've been finding lately that there are so many topics i still wanna talk about concerning LO and its development and they just don't happen because i get distracted or busy and my brain is like "ok we're just gonna pretend we've already talked about it even though we haven't" JFKDLSAJFDASKLFJSLKA
Let's talk about the Eisners and LO's recent 'win'.
I've already briefly mentioned in previous posts that LO has had a lot of its awards and accolades bought for it. This is especially true for both the NYT Bestseller label (seriously, none of those labels are ever earned, it's not some top 100 list that you compete on, it goes to whoever is willing to pay for it or whoever an editorial column wants to highlight) and, of course, the Eisner Award, which is not exactly an award judged by the industry's finest (the judges this year were made up of largely comic book shop owners and librarians).
But we're not here to talk about that. I wanna talk about what happened after LO won its second Eisner.
First off, the fact that it can be nominated at all when it doesn't even really fit the criteria for their submissions is sketchy at best:
see: "new, professionally produced long-form original comics work posted online in 2022." LO is not 'new'. Sure, it has new episodes, but I don't think that really follows the spirit of what they meant by 'new'. The Eisner doesn't seem like an award that should be granted to the same series twice, is my point, and that's one of the many complaints brought up in the absolute dressing down that LO got in its announcement post on the Webtoons Official IG page.
Of course, you can see for yourself right here.
But for the sake of fun, let's share some of the excerpts here.
(and yes I'm sharing a LOT of these because frankly I don't trust WT to not delete them in an attempt to hide all the shit that's being thrown at their precious "baby")
While names have been censored to protect the users involve, I will say one thing - this isn't some attempt from antiLO/ULO members to brigade the series' win, there are other comic creators in this discussion as well from the Canvas section who aren't pleased with seeing LO win another Eisner when there are multiple new series from this past year alone which deserve more attention than they're getting. Again, see for yourself if you click on the link above, the vast majority of comments on this post are expressing their disappointment and you can tell from how they've been sitting at the top while all the positive comments are being 'pushed' to the bottom - the like counts say it all.
All of this, paired with the fact that LO didn't win a SINGLE user-voted award during the Webtoonies, goes to show that the Webtoons audience is over LO. They're done with it. It's not relevant anymore, the only ones who still keep up with it are the stans and those holding on in the hopes that the story gets around to resolving the SA plotline and gets its TV show (which I've also mentioned has a real possibility of not happening, at least not now when it would count the most LMAO)
It still gets more likes than any other series on the platform (for now) but you can tell during its current hiatus that when LO is out of sight, it's out of people's minds - despite many of these episodes now being weeks old, their like counts aren't going up, no new readers are being pulled in. And the fact that a series with over 6 million subscribers can barely scratch 100k likes nowadays is... really something.
And that's on its free to read episodes, it's FP episodes - where views count the most because it's where LO makes its money and initial views - aren't even a fraction of what the free episodes often take well over a week to gain at this point.
Episode 252:
And the midseason finale, 253:
Compare it to Down to Earth which gets 70k likes on average on its free episodes (though its current new FP is sitting at the 1k mark), is LO still bringing in higher numbers than other series? Yes. But it's clearly falling to a point where it's going to be on par with every other comic on the platform in no time. I can't even imagine what it's going to be like after it comes back from this poorly-timed hiatus, when all of its official fan groups have also been shuttered preventing people from staying in touch within their own fandom.
Awards like the Webtoonies are, while largely just for street cred, still audience-based, and I really hope the fact that the people have spoken not once, but twice through their engagement with the platform - both through the comment section on LO's Eisner win and the votes in favor of other series in the Webtoonies - will be a major wake-up call to WT that they can't keep trying the same things over and over again expecting different results. They can't keep stuffing money into LO as if advertising or awards are the reason LO isn't pulling in the numbers it used to. They can't keep pretending that LO still has the merit and credibility that it once had 5 years ago.
It's like that comparison from Super Eyepatch Wolf talking about why you shouldn't take advice on how to be "successful" from Youtubers who got famous 5+ years ago:
"Say you decide you want to become a carpenter, and particularly, how to build a nice chair. Think about the kind of person you'd want to learn that skill from. Would it be from someone who has built nice chairs every day for 20 years? Or would it be the guy who built one nice chair five years ago out of a special kind of wood that doesn't exist anymore, who has no experience with the kind of wood available to you now?"
LO is a byproduct of a version of Webtoons that no longer exists. It was fortunate enough to join the Canvas section when the Canvas section was still only lightly populated, before WT started trying to sell the idea that anyone could become "rich" on their platform (an idea largely perpetuated by creators LIKE RACHEL who only became big because WT threw all of their money at them), before Greek myth comics became commonplace (again, something that's a consequence of Rachel/Lore Olympus) and before the romance genre became largely filled with problematic "dark" romances (again, see Lore Olympus).
Do you see the pattern of what I'm talking about here? A lot of what Webtoons became known for was a byproduct of Lore Olympus and series like it, because those series did phenomenally well, due to being in the right place at the right time, so WT went "hey, cool, this makes us lots of money! Let's do more of that!" Obviously this isn't to say that Lore Olympus is the root of all evil here OR that it didn't have its own merit back in the day, but if you make a series that blows every other series out of the water in stats, it's only natural for a company to want to pursue more series and story tropes like it in the hopes that it'll replicate exactly what comics like LO did, completely misunderstanding why LO did well in the first place. At the time, LO's art was unique for the platform, and it was tackling a story that was extremely popular on platforms like Tumblr so it naturally gained a crowd.
But that was five years ago. Since then, the WT audience climate has changed dramatically, as it always does every few years; and LO and WT haven't kept up. We went through a phase of BL, isekai, and now WT seems to be in an odd limbo because it's still clinging to a series from three whole lifetimes ago, especially now with so many of its other signature series either finally ending (True Beauty) or walking away from the platform entirely (Let's Play).
At this point, Lore Olympus is a chair that was nice five years ago, but has since started to fall apart - its paint is chipping, and its legs don't stand up so well anymore - and WT is still trying to sell it you as the exact same chair - with cheap new paint and a few bits and bobs attached to try and convince you that the chair is new - but it's long past its prime. This isn't to say that the chair itself doesn't deserve to exist, just that it shouldn't be given so much proprietary advertising and attention when there are so many other works on the platform that deserve to be uplifted and seen.
LO was good for its era, it was successful for a reason, but we're halfway through 2023 and it's painfully obvious that the comic and the platform's audience is ready to move on to new territories. Webtoons just needs to learn to let go.

Hi IS!! I seriously hope you're actually taking a break from Tumblr and social media instead of reading this haha, but I've been a follower for a few months now and couldn't help but send in a little post after seeing your rant. As someone who grew up with 2012 and adores it, and also as someone who respects Rise for what it is, I understand. 2012 is a huge comfort show to me and I've definitely gotten upset when all people do is go out of their way to tell you how horrible the show is without reason. 2012 is by no means perfect!! I am extremely aware of its flaws, but I don't believe that gives anyone permission to go out of their way just to ruin it for you. To target the one criticism that drives me a bit nuts, the "real brothers" thing. Rise has a very valid interpretation of brothers! But as someone with 3 other siblings, it is not sunshine and rainbows all the time. My older siblings would make me cry, we would fight and get hurt and hurt each other all of the time, my younger sibling would tattle on me, etc etc. But we also look out for each other, and have grown out of many of those things since then. I see a lot of my own sibling situations in 2012. Sure, it doesn't get everything right (and can be purposefully exaggerated because it is a cartoon!!), but it isn't wrong either. Everyone has different family experiences, and believing that Rise is the only correct interpretation of siblings would just be a bit narrow minded. I have many, many more points I could make in regards to the sibling ordeal (and other criticisms you mentioned!) but I'll leave it here for now. Overall, just enjoy what you want to enjoy! This goes for everyone. Someone is always going to want to rain on your parade, don't give them the power to do it. It's so much easier and less tiring to spend your time enjoying something you love over dunking on something you hate. :)
Thank you <3
As I mention over here, not really in a place to drop it yet, but I may sometime in the future. Your support is greatly appreciated!
As someone who grew up with 2012 and adores it, and also as someone who respects Rise for what it is, I understand. 2012 is a huge comfort show to me and I've definitely gotten upset when all people do is go out of their way to tell you how horrible the show is without reason.
Exactly! I have nothing against rottmnt. RISE is a great addition to the TMNT fandom. It has its highs and lows like anything else. It didn't deserve the dislike that many fans gave it in the beginning.
So why does 2012 deserve the exact same treatment after its time is over? Why doesn't it deserve the same respect for its diversity?
They experimented with some awesome and iffy things.
Some things worked and others didn't. Why can't we leave it at that?
I try and read the opinions that say "I like this, this, and this, but-" and ignore anything that is pure hate or comes from an account that has never said a single nice thing about the show.
But even then, it's often always the same old list of complaints.
And, like, Donnie is downright awful with his comebacks but sometimes I find myself doing the daily quote thing to the screen when I come across someone who is being supremely unreasonable.
(Not that I'd ever actually say that to anyone. It's my stress vice.
But. I definitely think it. Very hard.)
To target the one criticism that drives me a bit nuts, the "real brothers" thing.
EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH BRINGS ME AN UNNAMABLE JOY.
You hit the nail right on the head!!
My family dynamic is so similar to these boys. One of my siblings very seriously told me a few days ago that I am not at all attractive, but a few weeks ago, the same sibling also reassured me that I deserved a love interest so much better than any person the world has handed me. Freakin' Raph impersonator over here.
Literally, I have siblings who interact like Leo and Raph. Constantly trying to be the superior in the relationship and hating when the other bosses them around. But you'd almost never find them apart because they are the other's shoulder to lean on.
I'm not anyone innocent either. I've said lots of things that I didn't mean in the past and I still slip up from time to time. I'm the type of person to be annoyed with a sibling and smack/shove them. My siblings do the exact same! Teasing and mocking and crude words aren't anything crazy. It's just how our fam do family.
I have a sibling who is just as insane and annoying as Mikey, but it's so frustrating because he's either purposefully stirring chaos and then laughing when we get upset, or so innocent and confused when I'm getting mad at him for doing something similar a while later.
We get so tired of it. But it's not his fault. He's untreated ADHD and lives his life to the fullest. What you gonna do? Stifle that? Please.
We get so tired of each other.
But we're always the first to have each others' backs.
Overall, just enjoy what you want to enjoy! This goes for everyone. Someone is always going to want to rain on your parade, don't give them the power to do it. It's so much easier and less tiring to spend your time enjoying something you love over dunking on something you hate. :)
Thank you so much. I always try to remind myself of that, but some days it can be hard. I really appreciate your kind words! I hope anyone reading this is also making note of them.
I don't ever want to be a hater.
Going giddly over the boys being themselves is so much more fun.

The most common complaints I've heard ever since becoming interested in the Helluva Boss show: Antis/Critism: Hey wait! Helluva Boss is supposed to be about three comedian imps, a boring stereotypical moody hellhound and a horny one-dimensional owl. What? What do you mean these gay characters were given actual personalities and the show became more meaningful than that! This isn't what I signed up for! This is pure false advertisement! That's not how Helluva Boss is supposed to go! You lied to me Viviezop! It's only supposed to focus on I.M.P! Gay characters can't be taken seriously, they're always there in the show only for a laugh, everyone knows that! Stolas was supposed to be the villain and no, we don't want him to be gay. Stella should have always been his love-interest. Blitzo is a total dumbass for dumping Verosika! If Verosika were my girlfriend, I'd screw her like a screw-driller! So why didn't Blitzo! The show was at its best when it just focused on plain predictable assassination jobs. We don't need some big giant plot that's actually going somewhere! It focuses too much on Blitzo! I hate him as a character! Why can't it focus mainly on Moxxie or Fizzarolli!? Why did Stella have to be an evil villain with no sad tragic backstory! You know there's no such thing as villainous evil women! And why didn't Viviezop..(head explodes, spraying party confetti everywhere)
Yeah....that's uh....that's about the sum of it.
Although, you forgot to mention when there's development in the show, they get pissed bc it's not the development that THEY WANTED. Honestly, even fans do that too. It's kinda annoying.
