Jules and Lassie's friendship has me feeling soft y'all. Shawn and Gus have their own traditions and inside jokes and I bet that Jules and Lassie start to develop the same things. They go out to eat together and have movie nights at each other's places every week. Jules lets Lassie infodump about US history and guns as long as he wants and Lassie (begrudgingly) lets Jules paint his nails. They chat about all the latest gossip in the SBPD and gush over their crushes together. They tell each other (almost) all their secrets. Lassie stays with Jules 24/7 after the clock tower and comforts her when she and Shawn temporarily break up. Jules is one of the only people to see Lassie truly break down and cry and she holds him for as long as he needs and tells him that they're going to be okay. They have their own jokes that nobody else gets that they whisper to each other and giggle at. They laugh until neither of them can breathe. They hug each other every morning when they arrive at the station and when they leave, and casually hold hands. They started out as just coworkers but by the last few seasons they are basically platonic soulmates, parallel to Shawn and Gus. And I love that. I love them.

Hi honeybun! Sorry for the delay, I was busy horsing around! And thank you so much for the ask, I will try to not spontaneously combust while talking about my fave! And you did ask about my fave, so you brought this on yourself! Here we go!

2. Favourite canon thing about this character?

Before I start, I have to let you know, I am Indecisive(TM). As fuck. Which means I often don't have favourites simply because I cannot choose which one to pick. And also there are so many things about him that I love. Like his design. I love all the symbiotes but there is just something about his face and the way he looks that scratches my brain just right and makes me go apeshit. And that he is a wet pathetic dumbass extraordinaire, worse than when he is Venom even though he desperately tries to pretend like he's got his shit together. Like, they were always idiots but I swear Symby took half the braincells in the divorce, and when he got Anti they had to split what was left. And of course the whole religious nut messiah complex is funny as hell. Also little things like the way using his healing powers leaves him conked out, and the way he grows tiny spikes all over when he gets agitated or upset. God I love his little spikes. And also the way he embodies the whole "If I cannot be wanted, I will be needed, and if I cannot be needed I will be used until there is nothing left". Aughhh.

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

I actually don’t do a lot of crossovers between different media, as I usually prefer putting my blorbos in situations in their own universe, or completely off the shits headcanons. But remember that story idea about symbiotes disguising themselves while in the spider verse? Yeah, I've stuck him in the spider verse a number of times for shits and giggles. Also because the multiverse means unlimited potential for settings and situations for them all to get roped into. Otherwise I do like putting him in medieval or fantasy settings, usually in multiverse context, because symbiote dragons babey!

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

Oh my. There are SO MANY HEADCANONS swirling around my noggin. (Like, I use canon for cherry picking, then take that and bits and pieces of fanon and anything I can find that I like and put it in a blender, then fill the gaps with whatever headcanons I feel like. Just frankensteining together several versions of him in my head that are between 30-80% headcanon, I keep them on rotation for whatever fits the mood.) One of my main headcanons is that Anti-Venom survives the spider island event. Simply because I don’t want him to die, and for fanfic plot reasons so that he and Agent Venom get more fun times together ;). I have a few different takes on how exactly the symbiote lives on, but it's kinda similar to how Carnage had bonded so closely with its host that it never really left, and could regenerate itself over time from the smallest traces in his body. Bonus points are that the biblical similarities of Anti-Venom sacrificing itself to save the souls of the innocent by giving up its body, only to rise from the dead some time later would absolutely send Eddie's messiah complex into overdrive and make him even more insufferable. Oh, right, and I should probably also mention that I frequently headcanon Anti-Venom as sentient/sapient. Because I want to, and because it makes things a lot more interesting. But I won't go into more detail about that here or else this will turn into a dissertation.

right now it's JUST yukari (though I have some tasty ideas regarding shinjiro BUT...put a pin in that for now), the were!shadow mechanism i'm imagining is still kind of a hand-wavey vaguery to get me get to the good stuff LOL but. generally, we know there are sort of three basic outcomes to people during the Dark Hour: transmogrify into a coffin, stay awake and risk being devoured by/becoming a Shadow, and stay awake and eventually transcend into a Persona-user. but, I'm imagining; what if there's a sort of fusion of those second and third states, where an existing Persona-user survives an attempted Shadow devouring and their Persona regresses to Shadow state/they fuse with it as a result...

unlike my p4 au which I have taking place entirely *after* the canon events of the game, I actually want this to be an alternate timeline that transpires *INSTEAD* of the p3 canon and this happens to Yukari VERY early in the events of the game--possibly even during/as a result of the very first Full Moon shadow operation against the Priestess on the train? not totally settled yet, but...something to think on

I think Yukari is a really juicy candidate for this (aside from the idea first randomly coming to me in a dream LOL who knows what my subconscious was cooking) because she already IS the SEES member we see struggling the most to adapt to this world in sort of the "everyman" position--vs. Minato/Hamuko the natural-born leader, Junpei the gung-ho (even if that's a bluff), the experienced senpai, etc. She has the most trouble summoning her Persona to begin with, she's got the Ick about the whole situation and suspicion about her comrades, and I think it'd be deliciously intriguing if that hesitation resulted in her getting attacked + transformed and fomenting even MORE resentment about her situation like, "of course this had to happen to ME, WHY did this happen to ME", and the tension there that escalates between her and various SEES members, etc., who she blames, who blames themselves...but also, crucially, how it becomes a bonding point once that hurt dies down

and yes for MOST of the month she only transforms during the Dark Hour, except for the three waxing-full moon-waning days when my headcanon is Nyx's influence is the strongest. then she's stuck like that for a full 72 hours babey >:)

CHARACTERS:

squirrelkit/paw: one of firestar and sandstorms kits. about to be apprenticed. will become squirrelpaw immediately, basically

leafkit/paw: firesands other kit. wants to be a doctor. will become a doctor. this will never have consequences on her life /sarc

brambleclaw: bramblekit! he's an adult now.

tawnypelt: tawnykit! also an adult, now in shadowclan.

stormfur: stormpaw! an adult. (grey)

feathertail: featherpaw! an adult. (grey)

crowpaw: a windclan apprentice. hes a bit of a dick but its ok

BACKGROUND LORE:

the clans live right now in whats called the forest territories. this is because its a forest. they also have the moonstone where they talk to god (starclan)

now: arc two. the clans are being run out of their forest by humans who are. tearing out trees and shit. four cats (bramble, tawny, storm and crow) are given a vision of a lake. they must go find a new home for the clans. storm cant leave without his sister and squirrelpaw is so fucking annoying (/pos) that bramble is forced to bring her along. they walk. they bond. book ends.

the rest of the arc can be summed up similarly. they walk, they bond, they walk, they- hey wait what the fuck are there cats on this mountain?

yes. they meet the Tribe of Rushing Water, a mountain tribe of cats who are being harassed by a cougar named sharptooth. by harassed i mean killed bit by bit. they feel sad for this tribe and take refuge for a while before leaving-

but theyre stopped. the tribe was given a prophecy. a silver cat would kill sharptooth. storm and feather are both grey/silver ish. the tribe wont let the travelers leave without their silver cat. storm stays back. the others move on (walk)

they find a lake, deem it suitable for a new territory, and go back for storm. the tribe is being attacked. feathertail jumps from a ledge, breaking off a chunk of rock, and kills sharptooth, dying with him. consistently one of the top ten saddest warriors deaths ever. crowpaw was in love with her. this is incredible sad for crow and storm, and ig the other three too idk

and then they walk back to find the forest almost completely gone. humans have ravaged it. graystripe has been taken by humans (he was the only one they couldnt save) so they take the clans allllll the way back to the lake (more walking) where (in no particular order)

- territory is claimed, camps are made

- squirrelpaw is named squirrelflight

- brambleclaw is named deputy now that graystripe (former deputy) is gone

- crowpaw is given his warrior name, which he chooses, crowfeather. after feathertail, who he was in love with

oh also theyre really sad to split up. and bramble and squirrel are kinda in love (unfortunately).

side note, we see the forest slowly getting destroyed from leafpaws prospective the whole arc. and also her and squirrelpaw have sister telepathy in this arc that we never fucking see again.

and. thats the arc. we call them the traveling books 😭 arc three is more fun i promise they get kinda freaky from here on out

the thing is, nate and anders are regularly hooking up, very possibly dating, and velanna and sigrun are dating, and nate and velanna have chemistry and are maybe sliding into the start of a relationship with each other, and you would think justice and anders maybe have something going on but at this point in their lives they are just friends, its velanna who is actually willing to engage with justice on issues of oppression and its actually nate that is putting feelers out for something more with justice, and sigrun and justice dont quite understand each other but in a different way than they both dont get understand normal people, they are very much on a shared autistic to autistic communication wavelength so they are bros in that manner. meanwhile the primary tone of interpersonal relation between anders and velanna is awkward metamours and sigrun is willing to be friends with anders but he hasnt quite figured out how to do that. 

and this is normal, this is the baseline state of my understanding of the awakening polycule before any other factors. different warden commanders bring different dynamics and potential additional entanglements to the table.

you've got wilbur and phil as father and son. techno and phil as platonic soulmates. wilbur and techno as acquantinces at LEAST because of phil, and the fact techno came to help wilbur with pogtopia (so i'd consider them fairly close). and then there's tommy. tommy, who views both techno and wilbur as older brothers even if neither of them are literally so. who hero-worships phil and clearly looks up to him, although all phil does is tolerate the kid. same with techno- tommy looks up to him in a way, and techno tolerates him.

their relationships are real. their dynamics are there! they're just not a family in a father/brother/son way except for the blatant "my son" crap from phil!

phil has never said his character doesn't know tommy on the dsmp. he just says "i have one Canonical Son and that is it" and same w techno! tommy is "not my family" because it'd be weird to be so mean to him. but the relationship he has with tommy is so fucking complex that reducing it to "brothers!!!" would be incorrect!

say what you want about sbi dynamics and all that but i think their relationships in canon are infinitely more fascinating when they're not actually related.

"oh well whether sbi is canon on dsmp is kinda up for debate, its confusing" no its not. phil and techno have said multiple times sbi isnt canon. i know you guys refuse to listen to either of them but like. in order for it to be canon all parties involved have to agree. yall get that right. if im playing dnd i can't just make my friend and my characters siblings if they dont want that. thats not how roleplay works. theyre not family. end of story

Will you please share your black adam thoughts?? I was also very nervous about it and how it would handle the JSA but i actually really liked it! I actually work at a movie theater so i saw it twice already 😂

i'm putting these together because they're all related to my thoughts on black adam 2022 and i thought it'd be more convenient for everybody (even if they're wildly antithetic povs)! i absolutely loved black adam and i think i'm gonna see it again quite literally as soon as i can. given that i only got back approx ten minutes ago, here's some jumbled thoughts right off the bat:

i think what makes or breaks a superhero movie is whether the people involved think comic books are beneath them or not (as the folks over at the mcu often seem to do) and black adam certainly loves comic books with its entire heart and soul and you can tell. from various black reign panel recreations to carter's picture perfect thanagarian ship from hawkman 2002, this is a very sincere and earnest movie with none of the parodic tone i so often despise in superhero media.

VISUALLY GORGEOUS. SIMPLY GORGEOUS. the fact that 99.9% of the film takes place in daylight immediately resolves the lighting issue of all modern cinema but lawrence sher (of joker 2019 fame) as cinematographer simply changes the game with this one. in fact, i can say the same thing about the magnificent use of cgi -- cyclone's powers, in particular, are one of the most beautiful things i've ever had the pleasure of seeing in action.

while there are certainly a few things i disagree with, such as carter's estate and kent seemingly having a chauffeur/butler, i think most of the major changes were unavoidable either in a lost in translation sort of way or simply in order to make this movie palpable to average audiences used to marvel. over all, i felt the jsa's dynamic was captured perfectly and what drew me to the team in the first place is very much still there in a way that's definitely absent from stargirl, for example. they're still a horrible little family made up almost exclusively of weird uncles.

SPEAKING OF. AL PRATT? I SCREAMED.

i thought it was made clear that this isn't the entire team but rather just the members carter chose for this particular mission, which i also enjoyed. and while we're here, to touch on some of the points from the anon, i don't think any marvel-style humour was actually present? or at least, it didn't come across that way to me. i mean, it's a very funny film, i was laughing nearly the whole time (or tearing up! or simply absolutely on the edge of my seat!) but it all felt perfectly natural to me, especially in al's case where it's a clear consequence of powers he's obviously still unused to. the relationship between him & carter is actually exactly the element that made me feel a first spark of recognition like.... man i'm seeing my favourite lil comic book guys up there on the big screen.

ALSO THE LEGEND OF CARTER - KENT GAY HOMOSEXUALITY LIVES ON. OLD FRIEND? CARTER CRYING? YES OKAY OKAY I'M ON BOARD. IT'S NOT CARTER IF HE DOESN'T HAVE A BIZARRE WARRIOR BOND WITH SOMEBODY.

considering i was all set on hating this portrayal of kent, i also can't believe how much i ended up completely utterly loving him. the movie definitely has a knack for making you fall in love with its characters nearly instantly (maxine!!!!!!!!! oh maxine!!!!!!!) because it's so well written but kent's random outfit changes for no reason whatsoever, the bit where he's parading around in a dressing gown on carter's ship, "i'm not that kind of doctor", the entire scene in adrianna's apartment... yeah babey. actually i was losing my entire mind at "i remember the day i saw my first aeroplane...", the way pierce plays him might not have been intended to be hilarious but by god, giffen himself couldn't have done a better job. you can tell he's not all there (and i did also enjoy maxine calling him possessed by fate) and it's precisely how kent should be even in the absence of unnatural youth.

the narrative actually allowing carter to be his usual arrogant asshole self-appointed leader with a heart of gold self was also a welcome bonus, i loved seeing him the way he's always been written at his best and i loved that his sharp edges haven't been dulled any by a script that could've easily gone the sanitized route. his black and white thinking is also something that's always been a part of him and i don't think it's necessarily odd to have him say superheroes don't kill -- superheroes certainly don't kill as easily and indiscriminately as black adam does, not even the jsa.

on that point, the jsa's actions are clearly framed to be in the wrong? i loved black adam's arc, i thought mr the rock was acting his little heart out and succeeding like never before but we're also definitely pushed to be on his side to begin with. adrianna and amon are the moral centre of the movie and they certainly stand with black adam! the movie doesn't simply co-opt anti imperialist languages for the hell of it, the jsa is plainly told they're coming here with a us-centric pov and helping nothing & nobody in the name of some nebulous form of justice. i thought it was definitely abundantly clear that the conversation opened around a colonized kahndaq does not condemn adam's actions against intergang etc.

FINALLY, MY THOUGHTS ON THE FATE HELMET AT THE END? HERE'S HOW JARED STEVENS CAN STILL WIN.

this got long enough but god, i really did love it. i loved black adam. i loved the jsa. a respectful, loving, beautiful cinematic adaptation like i never thought we'd ever get.

• When I started shipping them: hey did you guys know theres a chin tilt™ in the movie Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle Of The Realms (2021) that Ive seen this january of the year 2022

• My thoughts: I hate them so much. theyre perfect foils in almost every way you can think of. they have an extremely appealing enemies-to-friends arc. in fact they tick most of the enemies-to-friends-to-lovers dynamics in one way or another, in one incarnation or another. with the multiple timelines deal you can even sprinkle a little bit of soulmates trope in there. you cannot have one without the other in the general consciousness. theyre perfect opposites and so similar at the same time. their shared storyline is Romantic with a capital R, with its fair share of drama, revelations, guilt, duty, honor, and conflicted feelings, two assassin clans alike in dignity, in fair earthrealm where we lay our scene. theyre LITERALLY fire and ice and everything about them just bring you back to that point. AND theyre both stupid pretty on top of that.

• What makes me happy about them: they were grown in a lab for 30 years to appeal to me personally💙💛 literally tick every single boxes

• What makes me sad about them: if they werent two guys they wouldve been canon ages ago and you know it

• Things done in fanfic that annoys me: mischaracterization in favor of the author's personal fantasies, usually sexual. Sucks so much when a good fic or a good concept gets ruined by them being OOC during (sometimes uneeded) sexy times. I know thats like, 90% of the fics on AO3 but still, lemme mourn.

• Things I look for in fanfic: if we're going Legends or OG timeline, you can never go wrong with a good old devoted protector scorpion. If we're going current timeline, oooh babey gimme that grandmasters middle age mutual pining, sometimes keeping things simple is where its at.

• My wishlist: so fun fact, most of my wishlist already kinda happened, thanks snowblind but literally everything before it. So I guess I would really just like to see the two of them interact in a casual setting for once, see how theyd normally interact. Second would be cuddles and kisses ofc.

• Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Im a subsmoke enjoyer but ONLY in a tragic doomed teenage romance kinda way, two boy best friends in an extremely restrictive environment that forbid close bonds let alone intimate, come on. Other than that... kuai has stupid chemistry with a lot of characters but in the actual story i dont see a lot of potential candidates. As for hanzo, I like him with harumi ngl, if he manages to get his family back good for him, but just like kuai, the ninjas are pretty isolated otherwise and have the closest narrative bond with each other so if not with the other well I dont think Id see it :/

• My happily ever after for them: Legends/OG timelime wise, scorpy continues to play guardian angel with benefits while kuai gives him a purpose, current timeline is the two grandmasters accidentaly making their clans more and more alike due to them sharing a similar mindset, which could perhaps eventually end with them reuniting the clans as it once was, as joint grandmasters wink wink. but my personal favorite is the mk9 sub zero ending where both of them "disappear together into legends" and are just living together in a little house in the middle of nowhere when theyre not avenging the innocents. and disappear even more into legends when they both get to the netherrealm killing the shit out of everything in sight there.

in my autistic opinion... here you go. a SLIGHTLY more organized version of what i have dropped in the DMs of anyone who is willing to listen, copy and pasted from a google doc i have so eloquently named "bones is fucking autistic" !!

this headcanon is like. 95% confirmed, which kind of makes my heart do a little "!!!" <3 idk brennan means a Lot to me and always did as a young autistic afab person :-) so here you go !! (under the cut)

okay SO here is my explanation for my headcanon, explained in bullet points- this took up multiple google docs pages so i hope you're ready

emotional display:

has absolutely zero poker face- we see this frequently. there are too many instances to count where she cannot hide her facial expressions !! it is also referenced by booth in late season 8, and i think a few other characters have mentioned it throughout the series?

this is especially in the earlier seasons, but her response to stress and trauma is Very Neurodivergent. she rarely has an outward response- it's so rare to see her cry before season 7/8 ?? this could also definitely be a trauma thing but like,,, trauma symptoms and autistic traits are unfortunately hard to differentiate between because autistic people tend to go through more traumatic situations

not exactly emotional display, but similar- she clearly has alexithymia, or something of the sort (basically, she struggles to recognize her own emotions). this is exhibited a few times- the one i can remember right now is "i don't understand what i'm feeling" "you understand happy, right?" (conversation with angela, season 9). this is actually something i have rarely seen in a character- at least not done well. it makes me very happy !!!

empathy:

she struggles to understand why others would think differently than her- her view of the world is Correct in her eyes, and she finds it difficult to look from someone else's point of view. this frequently ends in her criticizing those around her- her view of the world is incredibly black and white, so when others disagree with her, she believes they must be wrong.

extension of the black and white thinking- she doesn't understand concepts, no matter how hard she tries. she needs evidence and proof. examples of this would be her views on god/religion, love (pre-season 6), and marriage (pre-season 8)

despite her lack of empathy toward people, she exhibits a lot of empathy toward animals. this is actually a really common autistic trait?? examples of this would be her emotional attachment to the dogs in 4x04, or her explosive reaction to finding out the tiger was killed in 8x04

social/conversational skills:

this is probably her most obvious and easily recognizable autistic trait- it's what made me go "she's autistic" after watching a few episodes

she does not understand jokes or sarcasm very well- she frequently gets confused by jokes, explaining why they aren't funny or don't make sense, especially pop culture jokes. when she does understand jokes or pop culture references, she gets very excited and explains them out loud, even though everyone around her already understands (just adding- i love this so much ?? her explaining jokes is Very Cute. i'm sorry i'm a simple gay who can't go ten minutes without declaring my love for her)

struggles with small talk and social niceties- this is used as a joke in nearly every episode. she doesn't do small talk well- preferring to talk about topics that are actually important or interest her. she doesn't see the need for most social conventions either, which leads to her frequently being seen as rude.

she misses social cues in conversations- she frequently brings up topics that are probably not Appropriate for the setting (talking about dead bodies in a restaurant, talking about sex while standing over a dead body, etc.)

she is incredibly literal, and doesn't understand metaphorical speak. this goes hand in hand with the not understanding jokes- she takes many phrases at face value, sometimes confusing others

tone:

she frequently comes off as cold or blunt without meaning to be- many people read her as "heartless" or just uninterested because of the way she speaks, even when she is very invested.

i don't know how to explain this other than her speaking pattern is Very Autistic- the way she pauses mid sentence all the time, the facial expressions she makes while speaking, it's all autism babey !!!

intense focus on one topic:

okay it's very obvious that her special interests are forensics and anthropology

she gets hyperfocused, often losing herself in her work and putting herself through the ringer for it. she puts her work above (almost) everything, and has stated on multiple occasions that she would be nothing without her work.

she often explains the things around her with references to anthropology and ancient civilizations- she uses these references to explain her feelings, the situations she's in, and frequently, to solve crimes. things make sense to her when she thinks about them like this.

not engaging with peers in an "expected" way:

she is often showed to have difficulty getting close with people- she doesn't like showing emotion to others, and would rather just talk about the task at hand. this could very well be explained by her trauma background- but i believe it's probably a bit of both.

she finds it difficult to bond with her peers over common things, like pop culture, and rather talks about work or other things. she doesn't open up to a lot of people, even those who she is incredibly close with.

other/misc.:

stimming !! this doesn't have enough instances to get its own section, but i like to interpret that wonder woman scene as vestibular stimming, purely because i love to spin and jump !!!!

detail oriented, to the point of obsession. it's common for autistic people to get caught up in the details of things, which she definitely does.

views on sexuality differ from the "norm"- she is very critical of monogamy during the first half of the series, and does not see the point in marriage. also she's definitely arospec, just putting that out there <3

i am autistic and i love her therefore i'm right

final notes:

i think she's one of my favourite autistic characters to exist- i usually despise the socially awkward detective trope, but it's handled well here. the people around her don't expect her to change the innate aspects of who she is- rather, they love her unconditionally (even if they are exasperated at times- which is natural to feel with people that you love)

i very much like that they didn't go with the socially awkward + smart = unattractive trope either- she knows that she's hot, and so do the people around her. i'm so sick of nerdy girls not being allowed to be hot 😭 especially when it comes to autistic-coded characters- let autistic people have sex lives 2k21

she just,,, holds a very special place in my heart. as an undiagnosed autistic afab kid, she meant a lot to me. i saw a woman on screen who was smart like me and sometimes confused people because of her intelligence, who didn't really get social situations, who didn't know how to express how she felt. she was like me- and she loved herself, and people loved her. she's a very important character to me and has been since i was really young <3

Specially bout the parents (especially sunny's) cause almost everyone do be bashin them ( not entirely unwarranted )

So

Here's unorganized rambling

His dad is big tall ( for an Asian person cause its like accepted that they're at least ambiguous asian), like 5'11" to 6' something, while his mom is more average 5'6" ish

His dad also has a resting bitch face and is rather stoic, like sunny, making him rather intimidating (unlike sunny)

Massive baseball/softball fan, introducing Mari to it when she was teeny babey

Hc'ing that Mari was an avid baseball fan - it's why she played softball, until her knee when kaboom

Sunny's mom actually introduced.mari to the piano. She used to play it, but was never truly proficient. Getting Mari to play the piano was kinda her living vicariously thru her child

Babey Mari often plonked away at the piano because it make funni noise and cause her mom sometimes just set her in front of it as exposure theory

Sunny's dad was basically Peak Asian Student and is very good at basically everything

Honestly think it'd be interesting for Mari to actually struggle with math when she was growing up. One of her main bonding moments with her dad was them going over math when she was younger after dinner or something

Ironically Sunny is amazing at math and basically everything else, but he's either too lazy or daydreaming to actually put effort into using 100% of his brain

This mildy frustrates his dad

He still watched them do math hw tho as it was Communal Homework Time and they all did it near each other

The way their parents got together i hc as a massive long burn type thing, like it takes 10 years for them to marry style

Also hc that it was kinda not really Sunny's dad's fault for him being so quiet. They both don't like making noise, and his formative years were mostly spent with a very quiet father figure who rarely spoke, so he emulates him in that regard

This happened cause Mari was a Boisterous Bouncing Baby and did not care whatsoever about child inprintment or whatever it's called

Plus, their mom was there when Mari was still growing up

Basically mom got really busy (or was promoted wee) so she couldn't spend as much time with Sunny as she could with Mari

Despite being busier than ever, their mom still put time aside to read to them almost every day before bed (yay parenting)

Toddler Mari actually got into her dad's vintage comic stash and may or may not have trashed part of it

They went out camping at least once a year, later bringing Kel's family along with them too. Sunny and his dad often stayed up the latest to watch the stars.

This is one of the few ways they actually bond, as Sunny's not interested much in sports or exercise and they both kinda bounce off each other personality wise

Both of them can just sit together for hours without making a single noise

Of course, these good times ( and good parenting) come to an end.
