Thinking about how the Anti-Venom Symbiote that Flash ended up with when he came back to life eventually gained sentience, maybe even sapience, after the SavAv shenanigans and like

I'm surely overthinking it, but there's soooo much to unpack with the fact that it takes on the classic Anti-Venom look with Flash. It's more powerful and more creative than the artificial suit Flash had prior to death. It's a product of the Hive; a product of rebellion against Knull and one man's refusal to accept death as the final answer. And the most influential humans in the Hive were Eddie, Flash, and Rex.

But when it took the classic form with Flash, it must have been taking cues from its host. Maybe Flash knew, despite their clashes, that even at his weirdest, Eddie Brock sought to be a hero as Anti-Venom. (Well, more or less.) The way he went about it was really weird, but he did save a lot of people, and ultimately sacrificed everything that had saved him from cancer to in turn save all of Manhattan. Not to lean too much into Eddie's weird Pentecostal-esque ravings but it was pretty selfless of him.

There's something interesting about the Anti-Venom having saved both of them from death. It wasn't the same thing, any of the three times, but I do think the current Anti-Venom has more in common with the original product than it does with the Venom Inc suit. And I really think it's got a little bit of Eddie in it.

In SavAv and even in Carnage, it's full of righteousness, can't stand to stay still, occasionally impulsive (I mean, lol, you can't tell me that dalliance with Tandy was all Flash's idea)... Even the dragon-like look feels a little medieval-y.

You know, like, borderline Crusades.

I think it's fitting though, and that would also explain why, when it briefly bonded with Eddie, Eddie didn't like. Burst into flames. Theoretically the Anti-Venom shouldn't be compatible at all with the King in Black! He should've been annihilated!

Instead, it left a piece of Flash with Eddie -- and came back to Flash with a piece of Eddie in tow.

So, I get the impression that the AVS? It has a lot more control over its abilities than the non-sentient ones. It can be helpful OR harmful to Klyntar depending on what the situation calls for. It's not really anti-venom, it's more like anti-whoever-pisses-it-off. It can clear out corruption, or it can fucking destroy you.

So anyways, I guess, tl;dr

also my seeming change in opinion on Flash as Anti-Venom is almost entirely due to @krisseratops lmao

Canon merely exists for inspiration and cherry picking 😌 So without further ado, here's what could have happened in that arena if Flash had arrived a little earlier and life was kinder. Enjoy!

Flash crashes into the middle of the family brawl, decked out in full Anti-Venom, classic-style, because frankly the situation calls for it. And by "it", I mean "looking fly as fuck". It earns him about 1.5 seconds of stunned silence before he gets full-body tackled by Eddie who promptly proceeds to mash their mouths together in front of absolutely everyone. (A petulant "Daaad!" can be heard in the background. It is ignored in favor of sucking face.)

It takes a good while for Flash to remember that they’re kinda in a hurry. It takes even longer before he can get a word out.

F: Mmmh...Eddie, as... nnnh... happy as I am to see you again (in the, uh, flesh...?), we really don’t have time for this right now. There are these... things called zombiotes wreaking havoc all over-

*Flash gets tactical assault kissed by Eddie. Again*

E: Do not presume to speak to me about time, Thompson. You cannot even begin to fathom how long I've been waiting to do this.

F: Nnnnhh... fine. Five minutes, then we go save the city.

E: Ten.

F: *Sigh* Do I even have a say in the matter?

E: No💖

*Belligerent smooching resumes*

*Off to the side, Sympeter is staring at them longingly*

S: ...

P: ...

S: ...I want in on that.

P: I don’t.
