sometimes i think about how curt probably haunted owen just as much as owen haunted curt in those four years. curt passes out drunk with eyes that aren't there on his back just as many times as owen wakes up grasping at a hand that he can't reach, the sensation of falling rushing in his ears. owen sees curt in the faces of countless chimera doctors and scientists, even when they seem like they're hurting him more than they're healing him. he feels phantom hands ghosting over his scars like curt used to do in dim lit hotel rooms when he knows it's just him and his weapons in the pitch dark. the voice in his head that gets slowly quieter and sadder as the years drag on and on sounds like curt when it insists that he shouldn't have to do this. it also sounds like curt when it gets loud and mean. he doesn't know which one is worse.
