Adding more to this bc I found my notes I wrote down and I want to share some more about this (yes I'm procrastinating doing something.)

It's basically a young single father Dick Grayson au. I've seen a few and honestly? Love.

Dick's like 16/17 when Bruce dies (haven't set a specific death, maybe at the hands of a villian?)

It's a few years until he meets Jason, so for a long time it's just him and Alfred in the big, lonely manner learning to cope, with Clark and Lois trying to come by as often as possible bc Dick basically shuts himself away. He works with the League as Batman, and still tries his best to run the Titans, even though he pulls back from them and shuts himself off.

It's not for several years that he finds Jason. He'll be 19/20, real young, finding a 10-13 year old Jason. (Debating if I want Canon ages for some of these or like, going the younger route. Also sometimes the age differences between everyone are confusing.)

He sees Jason stealing the Batmobile's tire after he's had a shit day and they just stand there staring at each other. Dick as Batman softens, his gravelly voice dropping away and asks the kid if he wants to get some bat burger and check out the inside of the batmobile for a little. (It takes a lot of convincing, and Jason holds onto the tire iron the entire time.)

Meshing about the kid just has him feeling a little less alone for the first time in years. And when he leaves for the night after dropping the kid off at a shelter... he realizes he feels empty now. Like the kid left with a piece of his soul.

He doesn't stop thinking about the kid and keeps an eye out for him, worry filling him for the young boy.

And then he rescues him from a gang or getting beat up somewhere, but the boy is badly injured. Dick panics and swoops the kid up, but he's fighting it, justifiably not wanting to be taken away by a strange masked man, even if it's Batman. Especially not to a damned hospital when he can't even afford *food*.

So Dick rips off the Batman mask, desperate to get his trust and get the boy treated, and Jason is left reeling in silent shock as he's taken to the Bat cave.

He ends up adopting the boy after that. Thats *his* son now, your honor. That's Jason Grayson-Todd, your honor. That's *his* boy.

(Dick and Jason fight a lot because they're both grieving lost parents and neither know how to communicate that. One bad particular fight, Jason screams that he wishes Dick left him for dead instead. The boy immediately regrets it as he watches his adoptive father crumble to the floor and shatter like he's never seen before. Jason doesn't apologize, but he silently settles down next to him, leaning into his side and only grouching a little when he's pulled into a hug. He's not let go the entire night. Dick gets a stack of apology pancakes in the morning, something that becomes something reoccurring in the manor. Dick's always end up a little burnt but Jason eats them anyways. Jason has Alfred help him, and they turn into fluffy pancakes that make Dick cry as he eats them everytime.)

Jason's first Christmas is emotional for all kinds of reasons, one of them being Dick stopped celebrating when Bruce died. He didn't see the point anymore.

But Dick had a son now who he had to spoil, so Christmas returns to the manor. Dick and Alfred cry as they put up the old decorations, and Dick has to excuse himself when they get to all of Bruce's ornaments or the ones he bought for Dick to put on the tree.

Jason's emotional and flighty since he's not used to grand Christmases, and it'll be his first, maybe second holiday without Catherine and he's just as much of a mess as Dick is, so it ends up being a lot of crying the whole month.

But Christmas day Jason is greeted with a pile of gifts just for him- and a surprise in the library. He gets his own corner set up in the library since he spends most of his time there, with a library shelf just to store his books- and its filled with 20 gift wrapped books for him to discover, and a used copy of the velveteen rabbit, his favorite book. (Dick found it going through Bruce's things. There's little notes in the margins from a much younger Bruce, and his heart aches everytime he sees Jason read the book, everytime he catches him asleep with the book clutched to his chest. But it makes him happy, makes him feel like Bruce is watching over Jason, his *grandson*.)

Anyways thats it for right now bc I need to go, and I'm so sorry if this is messy, I can't proofread it, and i am dyslexic as all hell. 😭

But I do have some notes for Tim I want to share later!! Haven't planned everything out yet, but slowly.

Lying awake at 5 am thinking of the au I planned out where Batman dies before Dick ever becomes Nightwing, so Dick becomes Batman and he ends up adopting all his siblings instead.

19/20 year old Dick Grayson staring down at a like 10-13 year old Jason Todd trying to steal his tires and understanding why Bruce took him home that day at the circus.

Him finding Cass and just accepting he has a daughter too. Doesn't even fight it anymore.

Duke? He just sighs and wraps the kid up in a blanket. Alfred's already got a room set up for him by the time they're back at the manor.

Eventually, Tim and Steph date and break up (she gets to finally have a good time as Robin PLEASE) but Dick gets said when she stops coming to family dinner. She starts coming again bc she can't stand the puppy dog eyes. She's his unofficial daughter.

Barbara and Alfred just watching all this go down and staring to place bets on when they think another shows up.

Dick but he just inherits his father's adoption problems.

Ft uncle Clark and aunt Lois with (baby!!!) Kon and eventually a baby Jon.

Ft an unholy amount of angst almost every damned chapter.

I always wonder how every fairy sees Timmy and his family. I mean, Timmy goes to fairy world every other day, he walks along the bakery and shops, and talks to fairies like their old friends. Sometimes he's out with Cupid, fixing whatever Love mishap seems to be roaming around. Sometimes he's with the toothfairy, as she squishes her cheeks but runs off to her next client. Sometimes he's even with Jorgen, its rare that a godchild is able to spend time with the head fairy, but somehow Timmy has many found memories of him, even if a lot of them are Jorgen yelling at Timmy. There are small TV clips of him playing on the air sometimes, as fairies gossip about him and his godfamily. If your a fairy, you've somehow been affected by Timmy Turner, for better or for worse. No ones really mad at him though, in fact once you meet him he's quite a sweet kid! "Oh he's not that bad- he just needs a push in the right direction!" "He saved fairy world like multiple times!" "Timmys a very bright kid" "Sure he's a handful but what kids arent?" You can hear chatter about him all across town, and whenever he was at Fairy world, it felt very normal. It was a custom almost, to just treat Timmy like anyone of them, but with a bit more care and love since he is 10 after all. What was bewildering at times though, besides the fact he's practically a resident, was his fairies. It wasn't hard to notice- especially if you've seen it first hand. His pink and green godparents seemed to dote on him like he was their own child! Many fairies have seen Wandas attentive eye on him, making sure he never gets hurt. Thereve been times where hell just carry Timmy around fairy world, especially if he's tired of walking. Its a care that, you don't really see from Godmothers. Most of them, while they do treat their child well, they don't take them to fairy world every other day, and talk to them on such a personal and deep level. Cosmo was a different story, his recklessness has put fairy world on the brink of destrction, its a wonder he's a godparent. Timmy doesn't seem to care though, whenever Timmy and Cosmo are together laughter can be heard, as if Cosmo would do anything to keep Timmy happy. Its a very sweet sentiment, and their closeness is one that hasn't been seen. Usually you could see the small fairy baby in Timmys arms as well, calling out for Timmys name the moment he wakes up from a nap. Its a very endearing sight, they even call each other brothers! Loving a human as a fairy is very, very unheard of. Whether it be romantic or familiar, or even in a friendship, Love with a human is terrifying, due to their mortal lives, and the rules that are set in place. Humans can almost never know about fairies in the first place, only children. Even then they are doomed to forget, so attachment is seemed as unnecessary pain and agony. Its knocked into every fairies head again, and again, and again.... but when Timmy apphered, with stars and wishes in his eyes, anyone can tell just how much Cosmo and Wanda loved him. How Timmy would always say I love you to both of them, how he's called Cosmo and Wanda his best friend, hell a few faires have sworn he's heard Timmy slip up and call Cosmo and Wanda Mom/dad one time. This type of bond is unknown, even the fairy council were perplexed when seeing how close they all were to each other.

Fairies dont seem to care though eventully, especially as Timmy comes over to their world more and more. Why keep him miserable when he's obviously so happy to be here? Thats why so many fairies have that little acklowdgement of his actual family, that he's basically been adopted as a fairy, and while everyone dreads the day he turns 18, whats a few more years of just making this kid happy.

So I'm going to ramble a bit cuz I've been noticing that there's a lot of split opinions on Timmy Turner that rage from people adoring him flaws and all to people thinking that he's a little shit. So I decided to throw in my thoughts cuz it's been awhile since I've analyzed a character and I've got some thoughts fam lol. Please don't take this personally cuz this is just my opinion.

I think one of the main reasons why Timmy gets such a mixed reaction from fans is because a lot of his actual story is played like a sitcom. It's not placed in a more serious way, though there are moments where it is, it's quickly glossed over. If you take away the sitcom setting and the attempts of comedy and whatnot you actually get a rather horrible reality for this 10 year old boy. And with it suddenly a lot of his actions and attitude makes a lot more sense.

Timmy when introduced is a 10 year old. He's a child but he's also old enough to know the basics of right and wrong. Much like any kid. He gets his fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda because he was deemed to be a child in need of help. This whole scenario is played for laughs and whatnot but like, Timmy's life is actually horrid. He's abused by his babysitter, is tormented by school bullies, is essentially harassed by his teacher and is neglected by his own parents. This is his every day life, from the moment he was old enough to understand this was what he was exposed to and forced to accept. In a way Timmy was forced to grow up a bit faster because of it but not to a point where he completely lost the magic of childhood. When you think about this in a more serious way, things start to click together more.

Timmy's behavior when he gets snappy or creates mischief is a way to get attention from his parents. It's not a good kind but it's something. Or when he acts cold and selfishly, while it could be chalked up to being a kid, I could also argue that he might have actually learned it. Cause who else in his life puts their wants and desires before others? Who else doesn't think about the consequences of their actions and how it'd effect others? Who else ignores other people's thoughts and feelings when it comes to things?

His parents.

Timmy's parents do this shit constantly. From leaving him with abusive babysitters, to not really interacting with him, to making jabs about how their dreams died when he was born to a bunch of other shitty things. They forget to feed him and always criticize him, they're always jumping at the chance to essentially get away from him. All these things are things Timmy's witnessed and has been on the receiving end of for a decade. And never once does his parents really suffer any consequences. It's a known fact that children watch their parents and absorb information from it. Timmy's behaviors can very well be behaviors he unintentionally learned from them. Which is so sad because whenever Timmy's not acting like this, it's quite clear that he's actually incredibly different.

It becomes clear that Timmy's actually incredibly kind.

There's so many moments where he shows his kindness. From lending Cosmo and Wanda to Tootie, to helping fairies in Fairy World to literally giving his fairies the baby they always wanted to saving the whole world several times with little hesitation. Timmy at his core is a kind boy, but due to his home life and its constant reminders of the people in his life not wanting him. (Hell there was a whole ass episode about the world being better if he hadn't been born, like can you imagine that, it's fucking awful-). So in a way Timmy hides that kindness and rarely shows it because of these things.

Which is why Cosmo and Wanda and eventually Peri are so fucking important.

Cosmo and Wanda from the very beginning where different from everyone else. These fairies while granting some reckless and dangerous wishes, have always had Timmy's best interests in mind. Cosmo and Wanda are the positive influences that Timmy desperately needs, the adults that he actually needs to help encourage and push him towards the right direction. Cosmo and Wanda are always in Timmy's corner, even when he's made a mistake, and are always there to catch him and remind him that he's loved and wanted. In one episode where Timmy sneaks into his godparents castle, at the end when they're putting the picture of Maryann back into the hall of infamy, Timmy's first reaction is to apologize and believe that because he'd made this one mistake that he'd end up there with the other bad kids. Only to immediately be told no, baffling Wanda and Cosmo with the very idea of it.

It's things like this that help Timmy grow and feel comfortable with making mistakes. Cuz what he thought isn't exactly a normal thing. They help Timmy in so many ways and grow to love him as their very own cuz when Timmy allows himself to be well himself he's a rather endearing kid. It's no surprise they get so attached.

There's a lot of other things that I've got in my noggin but I just wanted to say these things for the time being. Maybe I'll update on this later lol.

Yeah I personally don't view the lim life family tree as actually 'canon' in the blood related sense cause it just doesn't fit and it's not like any of them have a clear 'mentee + mentor figure' dynamic like sbi for example

can we all agree to stop trying to make sense of the limited life family tree 😭 i can accept cleo etho scar & bdubs as a family but when bad boys & the rest of ties are brought into it it gets icky because of how many times theyve flirted with each other which... is hard to ignore...

The Greek Goddesses Challenge by LJJ-Sims is a challenge based on the ancient mythical creatures and stories from Greece. I fell in love with Greek mythology in high school and have not let that love go since. In this challenge you will follow 10 deities in their journey through life. Every goddess has a different take on and goal in life. Special about this challenge?  All your kids have little challenges of their own, not only your heir. These challenges are optional, so if you feel like these are too much or just too restricting for you: by all means let them go. I also have sheets for characters that you can make before you start each generation. This gives your challenge a lot more personality and makes it frankly easier and more fun!

A little disclaimer: because I made these gods and goddesses into a legacy challenge, the relationships in the myths don’t exactly match the relationship in this challenge. There is a lot of keep it in the family in mythology, to put it lightly. And apart from the fact that you can’t do that in the Sims, I don’t really like that part. So I didn’t include it, thus the inconsistency. An example: Ares is now Hera’s stepfather instead of her son, which she conceived with her brother  and husband Zeus. This inconsistency can also be found in the stories. It’s just based on and not copied exactly, as Sims live lives that are a lot shorter than those of immortal gods. And it takes a way from the creativity if we just copy the myths. Even if we wanted to do that, it’s quite hard, as every myths has its fair share of variations and some are just completely different stories.

With Typhlosion trending, I think it's time to bring up the, "Humans and pokemon were one in the same," and the implications that humans uses to breed with pokemon. Please do not worry, this post is as SFW as it can be, but I do apologize for some other stuff that mighr be brought into it. I'm just discussing the origins of where these ideas came from.

"Did people mary pokemon?"

Yes, and while I'm sure there are some... different cases, most of the marriage worked differently than human marriages. The marriage itself was about the union; not the romance or the children that were expected of from marriage at the time. I explained it in this post, but the Diamond and Pearl clans of Sinnoh would "mary" their lord or lady pokemon, not in a romantic sense, but in a union sense. The wardens would still be allowed to have relations with or marry humans. Even outside of the clans, there were some instances of people marrying their pokemon to show a union between them that wasn't romantic.

In modern day, marrying your pokemon partner is considered taboo due to the modern ideas of marriage focusing on the romantic aspect of it only. Modern-day members of the Diamond and Pearl clans will still sometimes have the practices of weddings with their lord or lady pokemon, even if they are not legally married. It's important to know that, if you're meeting a warden who is married to their lord or lady, that they are bonded in marriage, but not in the way that modern society sees marriage.

The clans have always seemed to view pokemon as one of them. There are instances of people calling their partner pokemon their brothers, sisters, parents, or children. While I do not originate from these clans, I do follow a similar belief. I have been partners with my Dragapult, Aosmhor, since I was 10 years old, and she feels like a sister to me. I do not use pokeballs on my pokemon (accept for Mallaithe the Runerigus, but that was a catch-or-die situation) because I follow a similar belief that they can be used to control your pokemon. These pokemon feel like family to me, and I do not wish to put them into tiny balls.

"Can humans and pokemon have kids?"

Theoretically? Yes. But not with just any pokemon. It's assumed that humans could potentially make a successful embryo with related species to us, like Oranguru or Gardevoir, but no one (that we know of) has ever tried to make an embryo in a lab or anywhere else. There could've been some potential hybrids in history, but nothing ever fully concrete.

"Where did the myths of humans having children with pokemon originate?"

One reason is that it was most likely to explain why a pokemon looks the way it does. Typhlosion can be mistaken for human from a faraway distance (same height as a human, very human-like eyes, sometimes walks on 2 legs), and people back then must've thought it was part human/part pokemon. It's also why there are so many myths of Ghost Types once being human; to explain their odd behaviours. While I'm actually a believer that some ghost types were once human (Yamask, Spiritomb), pokemon like Gengar most likely weren't human. But, there are myths of it once being human because it follows humans, hides in human's shadows and, despite its wideness, it is the same height as a small human.

The stories could also just be for entertainment or to teach a lesson. A common theme amongst a lot of folklore is, "don't be tricked by seduction." Since fairytales love their symbolism, they'd often use pokemon such as Foxmon or Humanoid-mon as the symbolism for seduction, since many foxes are able to do magic or are just very sneaky, and some humanoid-mons can be easy to mistake for human women. It's why there's so much folklore of Zoroark turning into beautiful women, Primarina luring men to their deaths, and Kantonian Ninetales luring men into the woods with illusions of beautiful women. It's not literal; it's all a metaphor.

Some do have a grain of truth, though. Zoroark would use their illusions to look like humans, but Hisuian Zoroark rarely did this since they wanted to avoid humans. Primarina have beautiful voices that would enchant any sailor, but since they were still wild Pokemon, the Primarina must've felt threatened or scared by the sailors and would harm them in self defense. Ninetales create illusions from fire, and will sometimes use these illusdions to keep people away. But, they rarely ever do it to keep people in the forest, since they dont like anyone in their territory, and the illusions were often scary. But, for the sake of storytelling snd explaining things they couldnt understand, they would change it.

Then there's Frolass, who will just lure men away and freeze them. That one's real. Beware of Froslass if you're a man or too masculine presenting. Unless you're my kid apparently. Froslass just get confused looking at them...

Time period post: 1960s Thanksgiving

Going to make some time period stuff for holidays as they pop up as it’s fun to look into and I knew a few people are like me time period wise and want to look into it. I also make posts like this on request so if there’s something you want to know about let me know! Anyways,

Homemade-

Now, while people did bake and cook their food largely from scratch back in the day it’d be dishonest not to point out that post ww2 saw a rise in premade. Not entirely but canned soups, box mixes, jello and ingredient stuffs etc. However, for the large part people did cook on their own at least certain recipes. Now Oklahoma is a sort of middle ground to where it’s “located” so …. Cornbread or rolls on the thanksgiving table? Answer me that lol.

I mentioned this in a food post before but a lot of new recipes were coming out during this time with the rise in product availability, surviving the war and well a lot of drugs. Some of it is stunt marketing or to look nice at parties, others become stables! Green bean casserole which is a staple on thanksgiving in a lot of homes would’ve still been a novelty, new and exciting as it’d only been made in 1955!

Tradition-

Thanksgiving is perhaps the most tradition heavy holiday, especially in the 1960s at its peak. Your family started doing it this way X years ago and it will stay that way.

Who carves the turkey (maybe with one of those new electronic serving knives), who does the wishbone, who’s helping mom and grandma in the kitchen?

Kids tables, arts and crafts, playing some pre dinner football, dinner at 3 etc.

Macys thanksgiving day parade! It’s been around since the 1920s but was first nationally televised in 1947.

Football games, if your teams playing.

Everyone’s different but I’m rattling off a few as they’re prevalent ones.

Home for the holidays-

Just figured this one out/was told it but the “holiday season” was more of a defined thing back in the day. Relatives visiting would sometimes go from Thanksgiving-new years — if someone was hosting all the way through anyway. As sometimes it’s split between houses.

A tradition that springs from this is Putting up the Christmas tree! This was surprising to learn about but back in the day (and some families today) you’d put it up after dinner, with the usual fanfare and family help as it’s a hectic time of year so having it up and family around is a good deal.

Formality-

Sort of a hold over from the 1940s where you’d dress up just to eat dinner(usually middle-upper class) you dress up nice for holidays even if you’re staying home with family all day. Not black tie or anything but you dress nice. This has begun to totally dissolve in the last 10 years or so.

Usually you’ll get the nice china and actual silverware, table decor is HUGE.

Dinner is usually both cooked all day but also eaten early usually 3-4 but like traditions it greatly depends on the family.

Going out and class-

I thought about this a bit as the gang are poor so I’d wanted to take that into consideration on how it could affect holidays. Sometimes I think they’d fully cook a meal, not nearly as massive as a soc or fancy placement and china (as Soc’s are rich rich.) but quaint and nice.

Sometimes I think they’d go out to eat such as:

Where you can get a nice ��traditional’ holiday dinner for cheap that also works well when you have to work etc. There was also generally a trend of “resteraunting” (?) among more middle class families for thanksgiving, occasionally and it depends on who you are - most people would go the more traditional route.

Leftovers! Again time of ‘let’s try shit’ while new staples were being added to the thanksgiving meal so were how to deal with leftovers.

Story of thanksgiving-

Slight bit more of a focus on the Thanks giving part of the holiday, being thankful for friends, family, good fortune etc. Maybe you’d tell the myth of it to kids or have some sort of tradition of saying what you’re thankful for or do something symbolic.

Though I think in the 60s (even the decades prior) there was more of a shift towards it being the “food and football” holiday even then! As it’d already far secularized as a holiday and was just a nice warm, comforting time of year and time with family etc. you’d remember snuggling with grandpa on the couch for a nap far more than some old story told before you can eat, you know?

The Basics:

obviously his mental health is in the gutter.

on his own he's just sort of a nuisance, spitting venom and trying to keep to himself. save for the times he decides to swipe something from somebody.

nothing special in the eyes of anyone. just plain dog food.

his priorities are arguably much simpler than most of the warring students' at bullworth. the main one being Food and the other just being going thru the motions of the day.

but aint nobody at that School normal, even if they aint in any of the cliques acting out gang wars.

Expanded Lores:

he thinks nobody really has his back. and for the most part, he's right. but there is one exception to this.

that being his Auntie: the nasty piece of work known as Edna.

having an iron stomach, he's probably the only kid that doesnt get sick off her cooking, after all he was subjected to it all his life.

it still doesnt taste great even if he does help himself to seconds.

but she doesnt mind lending a waxy ear to his plights. at all.

oftentimes he's asked her to feed some of his bullies especially foul things. homemade cottage cheese and the like.

anyway aside from her slop his diet consists mostly of red bull (hah), corn chips, and that canned spray cheese.

he can and will pound 3 energy drinks back to back to get through the day. or night. or whatever he wants to zone out of.

his sleep schedule is absolutely fucked up.

for one he has like 3 different bullies' homework to do so he doesnt get his teeth kicked in. for another the quiet of the night is far less grating on the mind than the daily struggle.

but when you're up late the days tend to blur together. he is horribly timeblind. never knows what day it is.

This Week in BL - lots, just LOTS

I thought I would be pretty lean reporting for Oct 2023 but then (for reasons relayed here) the weeklies got saved by a drunk avenging hacker in a hotel room.

Ongoing Series - Thai

Dangerous Romance (Fri YT) ep 8 of 12 - Sailom, sweetie, Kang is never sleeping alone again. It wasn't really translated, but Kang's way of speaking in that opening stinger was VERY cutsie. Also the gay sheets have made another appearance. I do have to say that "rich kid problems" is not my favorite story arc, but I still think this is a great Thai BL.

Naughty Babe (Sat YT) ep 6 of 8 - I love that they are finally talking to each other but Yi’s whole personality is shifting. Honestly, this pair is great at kissing and casual touches, but the friendships are the best thing about this franchise. Also Mr Chenne remains my fav character. But where did Diao's baby superhero team come from? And why? This show is very confusing... It’s also not very good.

My Universe (Sun iQIYI) You Are My Soulmate ep 7 - This was the one of the series I was looking forward to the most, because silly, pretty, and v BL. It is, in fact all those things and nothing more. So I'm enjoying it, of course.

Absolute Zero (Thai Weds iQIYI) ep 2 of 12 - I like it, but it feels like it's gonna be so sad. I'm having Promise and Dew the movie flashbacks. Plus 12 eps seems too long for this narrative thread. I am worried.

Venus in the Sky (Tues iQIYI) 6 of 10 eps - This show is so slow it's hardly worth the bandwidth, but we attained "baby is a floppy drunk" and thus a finger bite frustration scene, which was nice.

Only Friends (Sat YT) ep 9 of 10 (not a BL but I'm watching it anyway) - Ray is so mean to Sand. The not-a-thing with Sand & Nick was cute. I’ve had several experiences like that. All my queer friendship groups tend to be incestuous, but sometimes they're just too much of a sibling and trying to sleep with them is the most unsexy thing in the universe. To be fair, I’ve also been in Ton’s position (this ep). Jojo sure makes queer shizz. But also, Ton must have a magic rod with everyone wanting a repeat. (I'm so glad they put Neo in this role, no one else at GMMTV could play him as complex or sympathetic.)

You Are Mine (Taiwan Fri Viki) eps 5 of 10 - now officially known by me as "I'm too sunshine for this seme" where our boss is being hella obvious but our cinnamon roll is just too ooey-gooey to notice. Al.though, baby boy, he takes you home, sleeps on top of you, feeds you cookies (IN HIS BED) and keeps you in his space? Surely even this sunshine is catching a few rays of truth?

Bon Appetit (Korea Weds iQIYI) 3-4 of 8 - ah gay panic, also what is Korea's obsession with 7 year separations? Is it only true love if you wait 7 years? Dohoon is SUCH a flirt, it's kinda great! Also, since it's Korea, we got us a bit of a love triangle with 2 hyung romances, so I (of course) am torn. Either way Dohoon is going down. I do love how much time we are spending with the food in this drama, finally one that lives up to its name. On an entirely different note, Korean camping is the most bizare thing to me. It's SO damn civilized. There will be NO DIRT. They pack blow torches. And full dinner sets. Every time I see it in a drama, I'm amused.

My Personal Weatherman AKA Taikan Yoho (Japan Sat Gaga) ep 7 of 8 - OMG these 2 are so in love with each other, and so ridiculous about it. They're tiny idiots but I love them.

If It’s With You AKA Even If I Fall In Love With You AKA Kimi to nara Koi wo Shite Mite mo’ (Japan Gaga) ep 1 of 5 - from MBS a live action adaptation of Kubota Maru’s manga ‘君となら恋をしてみても. Amane has stopped loving people due to trauma until he meets Ryuji. At first Amane just wants to play with Ryuji but… feelings.

I like the odd Japanese mature-childishness in this one. Plus a broken sunshine who is out in a kind of aggresive way and an instinctive caring seme. What's not to love? Well, it's Japan I'm sure it will surprise me one way or another.

Mr Cinderella 2 (Vietnam Sat YT) ep 3 of ? - the cray cray step brother quazi incest is a bit much for me. Why does VBL just suddenly get so unhinged like this?

(Japan cinema release in-country only) - This one is a movie from Japan so in customary fashion who tf knows when (or if) it will get international distribution. Salaryman Ayumu Koiwai just can't tear his eyes away from the strong, muscular man as he checks on the stocks of the vending machine in his office.

10/31 SHADOW (Thai VIU ????) - this is a horror BL featuring ghosts and other paranormal elements in a high school setting. I'm not wild about Thai horror (or horror at all, but if it must be done in BL let Japan do it). It features Singto (who did paranormal BL He's Coming to Me) opposite Fluke N (who's done a couple horror's before). Also Fiat. Dan suffers from sleep paralysis, and in his dreams he sees a shadow that suffocates him. It gets worse when he transfers schools.

10/? Bump Up Project AKA Bump Up Business (Korea ????) - BL staring OnlyOneOf that released(??) as a movie in July but is now being recut and reissued as a series. Stars NineMill and from Idol Romance bulled as a love story between a trainee who is about to debut and a celebrity from the same agency (based on a webtoon). OnlyOneOf have been auditioning for this since Libido IMHO. You can watch me chronicle their BL MV work in this post. Idol Romance will do sad but can do good kisses (Wish You, Nobleman Ryu, Once Again, Kissable Lips, Poongduck 304, Tasty Florida, Tinted With You) but I don't think we will get any in this. After that OmegaX Shoulder bullshizz buisness I am very wary of this show.

So I have this one scene in my head, that won't go away unless someone writes it😅

So it's like 10 years after season 4. Everybody is "grown up" , moved away, married, have kids, etc. They have a reunion at the park in Hawkins/Indy Idk?

Eddie is watching the kids. Suddenly a woman comes up to him saying his kid hit/pushed her kid. Eddie who saw the whole thing, says his kid was just defending them self from her kids bullying. The woman asks Eddie, if the kids mother would agree to this behavior. Cue Eddie calling out Honey! And then introducing Steve as their kids mother🤣

Its not much to go on plot vice, but I'm hoping your amazing brain can fill in the blanks😅

I am a Steve secretly likes being called mom truther. Sorry to everyone who isn't. I full believe Eddie started it as a joke, but he noticed the blush on Steve's face and kept doing it, and then the kids just naturally picked up on it and refer to him as both mom and dad depending on the situation. Imagine the confusion on a teacher's face when their troublemaker tells the principal "my mom is gonna be so mad that someone pushed me" and in walks a raging Steve. It's giving comedic relief. I didn't really include a whole lot of everyone in this, just mentioned it was a reunion and had a few moments with the Party. Hope that's okay, it's just difficult to include EVERYONE in a short ficlet. - Mickala ❤️

They came back to Hawkins as often as they could to visit Wayne, especially once they adopted Hannah. Shortly after Nancy offered to be a surrogate for them, they ended up adopting Hannah’s baby sister, Lucy. In case that wasn’t enough, they still decided to take Nancy up on her offer, and they ended up with twins (“can’t do anything halfway, can you?” was Robin’s reaction) Ben and Molly.

Everything happened so quickly, all within two years, that Steve and Eddie turned to Wayne often as their calming presence.

At six years old, Hannah was a spitfire. She had Eddie’s personality despite not being theirs until she was four: unapologetically herself, loud, dramatic, and so fucking smart it scared them both. Lucy, at two (and a half!), was already well on her way to being the same way.

But this visit to Hawkins was different.

Everyone was back.

All the kids, who were far from kids now, and their significant others and kids decided to have a reunion over Labor Day weekend.

Eddie just got off a tour a few weeks earlier, a tour that proved to be quite chaotic when he insisted his entire family join him for two months on the road. Steve argued that it wasn’t necessary, that they would be fine for two months as long as he called every day, but Eddie wasn’t having it.

They took up a whole tour bus by themselves, but the rest of his band loved the kids. They brought Hannah on stage for soundcheck, they even had special headphones made just for her to be able to watch and play the instruments.

Steve usually used soundcheck time to walk with Lucy, find a place where she can run around and let loose all that toddler energy. Most venues they stopped at had a large backstage parking area for the buses and equipment vans, so while Lucy would run around and find weird bugs and sticks, Steve would push Ben and Molly in the double stroller so they could get some fresh air.

Once the doors opened, Eddie brought Hannah back to him and they went back to the bus so Steve could make them all their dinner, give them their baths, and put them to bed. They’d converted the bottom bunk spaces of the bus to a crib space for the twins and Lucy, and made the top bunk more kid friendly for Hannah.

It worked, and it was fun, and it was an experience that they all were happy to have together, but it was exhausting for all of them.

Being back in Hawkins was almost like a vacation.

Compared to the rush, rush, rush environment of tour, Hawkins was sit back, relax, enjoy the breeze.

Especially because everyone wanted their turn holding and playing with the kids. There were some points in the day that Eddie didn’t even know which adult his kids were with, but he was fine with it because Steve was sitting in his lap, more relaxed than he’d been in close to a year.

“Love you, Stevie,” Eddie mumbled against his hair, smiling as Steve curled further into his chest.

“Love you, too, baby.”

“Well aren’t you two just adorable,” Wayne said as he took the seat next to them, Ben asleep in his arms.

“When did he fall asleep?” Steve asked, voice low so he wouldn’t startle Ben.

“About 20 minutes ago.”

“You can go set him in the pack and play.”

“Nah. I wanna get as much time with these kiddos as I can,” Wayne said as he smiled down at Ben.

“Is Molly sleeping anywhere?” Eddie asked.

“Last I saw, Max was trying to get her to crawl in the living room, but I don’t think Molly is very interested.” Wayne started rocking back and forth slightly, like he did anytime he held a baby, whether they were asleep or not. “I heard Hannah ask if she could go to the park. If you wanna take her and Luce, we can keep the babies here for a bit.”

Eddie patted Steve’s back, silently asking him to let him up.

“I can take them. Stevie, you can stay here and get some rest.”

“No, I’ll come. Lucy will want someone to push her on the swings the whole time and Hannah won’t want to even look at the swings. It takes two with them.”

They made their way into the house to collect Hannah and Lucy, smiling at the way Max and Will were trying to bribe Molly to crawl with toys.

There was only one actual park in Hawkins, and the playground had only been added about five years ago as more people started moving back into town. It wasn’t impressive, especially compared to their Chicago parks and playgrounds, but Hannah and Lucy weren’t picky.

As expected, Lucy ran straight to the swings, yelling “Ma! Push me on swings please!”

Steve rolled his eyes fondly, but followed her over to them, preparing himself for the next 30 minutes of pushing her back and forth.

Hannah, well, she was a wild child. Literally, Eddie has had to drag her out of a hole she dug in their backyard once because she thought it could be her new bedroom. She cried when she thought that the bugs would hate her for leaving them. She found fun in any outdoor environment, which was good because the playground didn’t have a whole lot to offer other than one slide, a small set of monkey bars, and one tube to run through.

There were only a few other kids playing, all the parents standing off to the side or sitting on the bench.

All moms who would probably not want to talk to Eddie, especially if they recognized him and had been living in Hawkins during the whole, well, thing.

He stood away from everyone, just keeping an eye on Hannah, but occasionally looking over to Steve and Lucy. Lucy was ecstatic, he could hear her yelling “High! Up! High!” and Steve smiling as he pushed her just a tiny bit higher.

It was during one of those moments that he heard a yell and then heard someone walking over to him.

He turned to see a woman, probably pretty close to his age, coming up to him with a stern look on her face.

Oh boy.

He sighed as she stopped in front of him, her arms crossing over her chest.

He glanced at Hannah, who was being shoved by a boy maybe a year or two older than her. Hannah just raised her brow and shoved him back.

He looked back at the mom in front of him, assuming she was the boy’s parent.

“May I help you?”

“You may. Your daughter just pushed my son!”

“Is your son the one I just watched shove her?”

“If he did, it was to defend himself.”

“Hm.” Eddie glanced back up to see the boy crying and Hannah walking towards him. “Maybe your son should keep his hands to himself if he doesn’t like being pushed.”

“Maybe your daughter should learn to move out of the way.”

Eddie smirked as Hannah came up next to him.

“Hannah, wanna tell me what just happened?”

“He told me that I was too fat to go on the slide so I told him I would show him that I wasn’t. And then he tried to pull me away and I didn’t let him so he said that he was going to push me off the top. He tried to, but I’m strong, so he couldn’t. I pushed him back.”

Eddie nodded.

It’s not that he thought his kids were perfect. Far from it.

He got calls frequently from Hannah’s school that she was being too rough with the kids, and he had to remind her that a lot of kids don’t play that way. She never had bad intentions, she just didn’t know how strong she was. Kind of like a large breed dog thinking he can still sit in your lap when he’s fully grown.

But he also knew that because she had never had bad intentions, there was no way she did anything that wasn’t in defense of herself.

“It sounds like your son was rude and put his hands on her first,” Eddie said to the woman, who was turning a violent shade of red.

“There is no way her mother would allow her to act like this. This is inappropriate for young girls.”

Even Hannah knew that was the wrong thing to say.

She covered her face and shook her head and Eddie couldn’t hold back a laugh.

“What is so funny?” the woman asked angrily.

“Her mother is the one who taught her how to defend herself, but if you’d like to talk…” Eddie turned to the swings, where Steve was focused on Lucy. “Sweetheart! Can you come here for a second?”

Steve looked over to him with a frown, grabbing Lucy from the swing and mumbling something to her when she looked disappointed that they were done.

“What’s going on?” Steve asked as he looked down at Hannah, who was patiently waiting to see what Steve was about to do to this woman.

Eddie absolutely loved his children equally, he really did. But Hannah was something else entirely. He felt connected to her in ways that he hadn’t expected when they first met her. If it were possible, he would think she was his biologically with how similar they were in personality, how they both had the same dark curls, brown eyes, loud laugh, and smirk.

The woman seemed surprised to see Steve come over, but quickly went back to the angered demeanor of a moment ago.

“Your daughter tried to hurt my son.”

This woman was not going to convince Steve of that even if she somehow managed to record it on camera.

“What did your son do?”

“I beg your pardon! He didn’t do anything except try to take a turn on the slide.”

“Right.” Steve looked at Eddie, who gave a small shake of his head, then down at Hannah who did the same. “My sources seem to remember things differently.”

“Ma, he said I was too fat and then tried to pull me away!” Hannah was getting more upset now, not because she was in trouble, but because it was interrupting her playtime.

“Which one is your son?” Steve asked.

Oh no. That was the bitchy tone.

Eddie loved where this was going.

“The one getting off the slide,” the woman pointed, but immediately tried to start arguing. “She had no right to push him no matter what he may or may not have said.”

“The kid who is currently pushing another girl out of his way?”

The woman looked over and gritted her teeth together.

“Daddy, Ma, he’s mean!” Lucy yelled as she held Hannah’s hand.

“Yes, baby, he is being mean. That’s why we taught you and your sister to stand up for yourselves when someone is bullying you,” Eddie said pointedly.

“Kids like that grow up to be mean adults who don’t have friends and raise their own kids to be mean,” Steve added with a glare at the mom.

“We all have to take turns on the slide,” Hannah nodded in agreement.

“Ma! Ma! Swing again!” Lucy suddenly yelled, totally over the way this conversation was taking away from her valuable swinging time.

“Sure, baby.” Steve turned to the seething woman in front of them. “Are we done here or do I have to go on about how your son is going to peak in high school just like you did?”

She stormed off without another word, no match for Steve when he was in Mama Bear Mode.

It was so fucking hot.

Steve sighed.

“I’m proud of you Hannah Banana. You okay?” Steve knelt down so he was eye level with her, and pulled her into a hug.

“Can we go to another park, Ma?”

“Sorry, baby, this is the only one here. We can go back to Papa Wayne’s house, though.”

“Can I swing with Lucy?” Hannah asked.

“Of course. How about we swing for another ten minutes and then we get some ice cream?”

Eddie perked up at that.

“Ice cream!”

“You’re worse than the children,” Steve smirked at Eddie.

“Ice cream!” Lucy yelled.

“Can I have strawberry?” Hannah asked excitedly.

“Sure,” Steve ruffled her hair. “Strawberry’s my favorite, too.”

“Brownie!” Lucy yelled, eyes wide.

“That’s my girl! We’ll get brownie ice cream,” Eddie said as he lifted her up into his arms and walked her over to the swings.

The rest of the afternoon was uneventful, which is exactly how they liked it.

The Kang and Lee family go way back, from their great grandparents being close business partners to the current generation being best friends since they were in diapers. Kang Haerin being the only child under the current generation and Lee YN, the eldest daughter followed by Lee Hyein, the youngest.

The pair weren’t forced to be friends but somehow they simply clicked ever since they were babies. It was said that Haerin held YN’s hand the first time they met, calming her down. From that day onward, they were inseparable, and when Hyein was introduced to the pair, their bond grew stronger wanting to protect the younger Lee. 

YN had a caring nature even when they were in preschool, always putting Haerin and Hyein first before herself. If either one wants to use the swing, she’ll gladly give it up for them, or if Hyein got an orange juice while YN got the apple juice, she’ll switch with her despite not liking orange juice that much. It was no surprise that Hyein was the first person to notice Haerin would act differently around YN compared to when they were alone.

“Haerin-unnie, do you like YN-unnie?” They were only 5 years old while Hyein was only 3. Haerin looked at the younger Lee as the older Lee was running to help her parents in setting up their snacks.

“... I like her, she’s friendly and caring.”

“Is she your prince charming?”

“Yes.”

They were only 5 years old, Haerin was the first to develop feelings. It took awhile for YN to develop the same feelings. Taking notice that Haerin would spend her time with her rather than with anyone else, telling her random facts about frogs and when they were playing pretend, Haerin always wanted to be paired with her. A perfect pair as their parents would say, neither one would leave the other, they could if they wanted to but neither one would do so. YN was 10 when she realized she had a crush on her best friend.

“Unnie, do you like Haerin-unnie?”

“Yes, Hyein… I like her a lot.”

“Will you get married in the future?” YN chased Hyein after that question, saying it was too early and they’re only kids. Marriage was the last thing on her 10 year old mind.

At the ripe age of 14, at the Lee’s backyard where Haerin and YN were seen together under the cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms blooming and covering the grass with its pink petals, holding each other's hands, after years of pining, YN confessed.

“Hae, do you know who my crush is?”

“You have a crush?” Haerin’s heart was shattered, who would capture your heart before she could confess?

“Yeah.”

“Who is it, then?”

“You. I like you, Hae.”

Under the cherry blossoms, was the start of their relationship. Haerin fell first but YN fell harder. Hyein cheered for them as they sealed their relationship with a kiss, years of pining, they could say they’re finally together. Sadly, this is no fairytale, YN might have been Haerin’s prince charming and she was the damsel in distress, no one mentioned how complicated a relationship is.

A year and a half, under the same cherry blossom tree at the Lee’s, where their relationship ended. They were together but Haerin didn’t want to let the public know, YN respected that decision wholeheartedly, yet neither was willing to fight for their relationship that was well hidden from the public eye. Haerin was scared of their opinions, two girls dating each other, and YN grew tired of having to fight off any possible suitors Haerin encounters.

“Haerin… do know that I love you.”

“I love you too, YN.”

YN could not look at Haerin, everything about the girl, she just couldn’t hold it anymore. She really loved Haerin but having to fight for her without raising suspicion was getting to her.

“Is this… the end?” Haerin tried to reach for YN’s hand, she knew it calmed the girl down who was on the verge of crying. She seemed so close yet so far, what happened?

“No, Haerin. Maybe it’s the end of our relationship but it's not the end of our friendship.” YN was putting on a brave face, for Haerin, if she cried, and continued on with the relationship what would happen to her? For Haerin, she’ll be strong.

“Friends?”

“Friends.”

That relationship caused a rift in their friendship, 3 months of avoiding each other only for Hyein to force them to sit down and talk, the girl was only 13 yet she was much more mature compared to the two. Trapped in a closet, it was the first time in a while that they were left alone, they both know their own feelings. YN could not tell the girl that she’s still smitten by the cat-like girl who sat in front of her. Haerin took notice how YN grew taller compared to the past 3 months, there was something different about the older Lee.

“H-how are you?” YN was the first to break the silence, always the first one to make a move.

“Quite… alright. You?”

Trans Heather Chandler AU

Hayden Chandler, Heather McNamara and Heather Duke played in Hayden's room, the 3 kids giggling and talking about teachers in their pre school. They'd met since Heather McNamara's mother worked for Hayden Chandler's parents and Heather and Heather had been friends since Kindergarten. Heather and Heather were 6 while Hayden was 5, Hayden felt safe with the two girls named Heather despite being a boy.

He didn't know much since he was a kid but he knew his parents liked him being a boy, they were iffy with him being friends with girls, thinking they'd infect him with their girly stuff.

Heather and Heather's parents came to pick them up and Hayden was in his room. Something was different though, his TV was glowing brightly. Something about warm light was comforting, like it understood him. He heard his parents call to him for dinner so he quickly looked away and ran to the kitchen.

He tried to eat quickly so he could go back to his room to the glowing TV, craving its comfort it gave him. His parents talked about work and how he was going to run their business when they retired, they didn't want a girl as boss since girls are 'bad at running stuff', even mum agreed for some reason.

He went back to his room, boy-ish toys filling his room. He suddenly felt upset at having toys for boys, he wanted to play with Heather and Heather's toys, they got to play with barbies and ponies, it wasn't fair. He took one of his figures and tried making it look like a girl. The Tv glowed again over him, putting him in a trance as he stared into the comforting light.

He went to his wardrobe, it was a walk in so he has lots of room to sneakily mess with his clothes. He held craft scissors and glue in his hand as he looked for his favorite pair of shorts. Once finding the red shorts, he began trying to make it look like a skirt, cutting the middle out and gluing it together.

Sure, it was a glued mess but he was very proud of himself. Something he'd always do was chase his parents validation, praise made him feel good about himself so he ran out to show his parents the makeshift skirt he made. But he didn't get the reaction he wanted, his parents yelling and taking his skirt, screaming about how boys can't play with girls things to dress like girls.

He ran back to his room, crying and having a meltdown. He unplugged the TV in a fit of rage. He soon settled and cried from guilt of unplugging the TV. He told himself it needs to stay off, for the better of getting his parents validation.

8 year old Hayden sat in his room, doing homework before he noticed the TV glowing again, he didn't remember plugging it in but the light comforted him like he did when he was 5. He knew he had to do something, but he couldn't let his parents know or see this time.

He rung the Heathers, asking to cone over with all their girly clothes and toys but not let his parents know they were coming over. They agreed, arriving on their bikes and climbing through his window. They dressed him up like a girl and they played with barbies, after they would take the clothes and toys back and go back home, this became a regular thing that happened almost every day.

He stopped going for haircuts and would secretly buy himself girls clothes and toys with his friends support. His parents were too busy with work to notice this all happening.

One day in his room, playing with a ponies set, he felt the warm glow of the TV, the light having comforted him for all these years. He was 10 now, and he knew what had to change now. He wanted to be a girl, he wanted people to call him a girl. She wanted this now.

She let her TV glow, so should you.

for your request for a random pairing to plot around! One that's honestly intrigued me-- Astarion/Jaheira

oooooooh!!!! That's a good one, ok, thinking.... this has to be a one shot "10 times x happened" type deal, yes? I'm thinking something a little melancholy, a little tragic, a lot slow-burn romantic.

Spawn!Astarion ends up an adventurer/"hero-for-hire", and Jaheira (typically) ends up returning to the Harpers, though you can talk her into remaining in Baldur's Gate. Astarion is a feral stray cat. Jaheira is a "used to be a sweet house cat, is now feral old mama cat who wanders further and further everyday until she one day never comes back at all" type cat. Cat!Astarion needs to join the colony is what I'm saying

It makes total sense to put them together and I love their sass but the emotional availability is the problem here. Astarion is open to emotional intimacy, longs for it even, while Jaheira is only available if you really, really need her, and then only until you're fine without her. (Looking at all the kids she takes on and then her distance when they grow up.) So, plot:

Astarion starts off hunting for his meals in much the same way he used to find people for Cazador. He's pickier, aiming to murder only really awful people so it won't twinge his budding conscience, but in the process he stumbles into a Harper operation or runs into other trouble etc. Some fast talking gets him in front of someone who recognizes him - maybe Geraldus - and before long he's made contact with Jaheira once more, who rolls her eyes tries to get him set up with a few contacts. It's very "if you wanted a job, you should have talked to me. Idiot" -type vibes. This makes so much sense there's even a comic about it lol.

But I can't see Astarion actually enjoying the sort of organization the Harpers are. He doesn't want to join, swear a vow, fall in line etc. so he's very "thanks but no thanks" about it. He goes off on his own again, and then Minsc finds him, forcing him to move (again!). Irritable and a little bored, he seeks out Jaheira to bitch about it and they commiserate over Minsc's.... everything. Maybe he picks up a contract, maybe he doesn't, but contact and a routine is established. If there's the 7k spawn in the Underdark, Jaheira might be a useful person to bring in - she's used to working with strays, has a lot of organizational knowledge and leadership abilities, could have contacts willing to trade with spawn etc etc. That's definitely one route to keep her around for a while.

But the point it - Astarion and Jaheira interact as peers, and that's something Jaheira lacks in her day-to-day life, which frustrates her even in BG3 if I remember correctly. She's pretty burned out on being High Harper but feels it's the best way to make a difference, and after the events of the game gets a drive to fix the things that have fallen apart. Astarion gets to drop in and play the hero on occasion, but he really only listens to Jaheira. Jaheira enjoys the attention and his little flirtations, but that's about it - they've got a flirty old friend vibe going after a few years, though younger Harper's certainly think there's something more to it, though that's purely because Astarion's hot and therefor must be sexually involved with anyone he associates with.

I could see them naturally hooking up after a while. I doubt Jaheira has been celibate since Khalid's death, but I think she'd also initially see Astarion as someone who'd latch onto her, so she wouldn't indulge his flirtations beyond talk, but given enough time she might. Alternatively, a catalyst - the underdark spawn colony gets its first trading partner through Jaheira's efforts and grateful Astarion honestly propositions her (because fucking any of the other spawn there would be.... potentially very weird if it's someone he doomed to vampirism and didn't remember), or some type of whump where an important Harper dies, or perhaps one of Jaheira's kids.... lots of options.

Anyway, they sleep together. Once. Twice. A few times. Not often, not regularly, but an established hookup every few weeks/months etc. Distant enough it never grows more, close enough it's regular and Astarion thinks about her a lot.

One day Astarion realizes he's the closest person in Jaheira's life. Maybe he talks to Rion or another of Jaheira's kids, or someone high up in the Harpers, and realizes he's the Faerûn equivalent of her emergency contact. No one knows where Jaheira went - he knows she's in Neverwinter, dealing with the aftermath of the DnD movie lol. Minsc finds him again. He asks him, "Do you know where Jaheira is?" and Minsc has no goddamn clue. Somehow, he's closer to her than Minsc!

Fuck. Are they dating? Is this a relationship? How did he end up in a relationship and not even realize? How embarrassing. How awful. Does he want this? The second he says something she's going to bolt. He's no Khalid, and doesn't want to be. Should he say something? No. No, definitely not. Why ruin a good thing? They're having fun. It's nice, having a warm bed to crawl into with someone who doesn't look at him like he hung the moon and stars. Jaheira's maturity is one of his favorite things about her.

So naturally he tells her. It eats him up inside - Astarion is terrible at keeping long-term secrets. Maybe he couches it in a joke, a little nonchalant observation, but Jaheira sees right through it. The next morning, she bolts, and Astarion doesn't see her for at least a year.

But a year isn't that long, when you've lived so long already. He's not mad at her, which is new for Jaheira: everyone knows about her issues, call her out for it often, and are yet always surprised when it happens to them. But Astarion isn't upset. Midnight chimes, hm? But they have such chemistry. They fall back into bed together after a while. Things continue.

This plot has already taken place over years lol. They stick together more and more, and so long as no one talks about what their relationship is, it's fine. Astarion keeps quiet. He's smart enough not to make the same mistake twice. Jaheira wonders if she's keeping him from finding true love, a relationship that can meet him at the level of intimacy he clearly desires - but he's an adult and can make his own choices. Selfishly, she enjoys his company.

She gets older. Maybe they take in another stray kid and stay in Baldur's Gate a while, and Astarion gets to play the decadent evil step-mother without realizing he's more emotionally available and reliable to the older kids than Jaheira is. (note: this is the only way I could see Dad!Astarion happening, namely purely by accident and somehow being more emotionally available despite sending the kids late to school with nothing more than half a loaf of bread and a very sharp knife to cut it with.) Or maybe something happens to Rion and they call him instead of Jaheira, and he finally puts his foot down and demands some clarity and definition on what "they" really are.

Either way, despite her young immortal lover (but in truth, because of him) Jaheira decides against extending her life further with the druid ritual. She becomes old enough this adventuring business has reached an impossible level of difficulty - and like an old cat, she leaves home one day without telling anyone, to go die by herself somewhere nice, or in battle, in some selfish way that Astarion does not see coming at all. While he knows she won't live forever, she's not decrepit, and even he realizes leaving someone when they start to degrade is a dick move, so he had no plans to leave her, but Jaheira wouldn't see it that way. Instead, she dies, far away and alone, with Astarion helpless to do anything about it.

He's gutted. They weren't - together - but they were to anyone who had eyes. It was all very comfortable and easy and nonchalant but he did love her even though he never said it, but she didn't respect him enough to talk to him about her plans. She didn't give him a choice. Went off to kill herself, as if he somehow wouldn't care, as if what they had really was just a fling that never ended - even after years or decades together, he was no Khalid. His grief is eclipsed by anger, and a much older Rion, her eyes dry, tells him something that amounts to "I told you so."

I'd end on something years later in the future. Another few decades, maybe with a lover who could dedicate themselves to him as much as he could to them, an Astarion with a bit more experience with love and the pain of outliving someone, after seeing other relationships degrade and how people deal with the inevitability of death - perhaps he writes a journal, or reminisces with someone, and understands just a little more why Jaheira was the way she was. Looking back with fondness and nostalgia, and seeing all the good they had together even if it wasn't perfect. A little bittersweet, a little melancholy - but also a lesson, in what not to be.

Anyway while I don't think Astarion needs a partner, I do think he would benefit a great deal from having one. Emotional intimacy is something he'd crave deeply but it also afraid to ask for, so while he'd be aware of Jaheira's emotional unavailability I think he'd be unable to pull himself away from it. I can't see a relationship between them ending anywhere else other than inevitable heartbreak :(

ok. elephant in the room or shit i thought about a while ago but didnt post, my going theory on the rise cancellation which idk if its a theory more-so as reading the room and putting the pieces together.

it seems like playmates fault to me on account of the toys being shit and then cancelled outright. like waves of toys ready to go in 2019, none saw the light of day.

obvs a lot of them were shit, not the point. the point being theres up to 6 waves of toys on the table at 2019 toy fair, only 1 and 2 were made. compare to the last toyfair showing the mutant mayhem toys.

playmates made both of these era of toys. do you see how much more effort went into one than the other. you can say movies are more popular blah blah blah. but playmates has made ALL tmnt toys since they ever existed, and comparing the rise toys to even the previous shows toys it seems obvious where they put the money.

anyway my theory here is playmates got told (or given or offered or whatever) mutant mayhem. they immediately went. oh. yeah this will make us money. lets start prepping moulds for this now, lets get ready to sell a shit ton of different stuff. and they just left all those rise things on the cutting room floor. they didnt tell anyone on the team they were gonna do that. they didnt say "yeah it doesnt matter what you do cuz we have this NEW thing coming" they just abandoned it. they pretended theyd give it a chance to come back if their movie went well just to appease them and us, cuz they saw more money elsewhere.

the dumb shit about that is like imagine saying that about like. batman or the avengers or something. yeah we wont make this cartoon anymore cuz we have a theatrical movie coming in 3 years. like. you can have more than one iteration YOU DID IT WITH 12.

truly this is nothing against mutant mayhem by all accounts it looks amazing, my point here is that im sick of playmates fucking over each tv show with their stupid hunks of plastic. it has in fact happened each time, rise was just faster

87 was good, then there were the 90s movies that got popular enough that the show needed to be closer in style to.

03 was good, then it got dark, told to be more fun (cuz kids like ben 10 now) so they made fast forward, which was also good but in its own way, but then tmnt 2007 came out and playmates literally said "nope nope, we want to save on moulds so change your show to look like this movie" then 07 didnt go well cuz warner bros didnt fucking market it (what i heard from a podcast w nolan north was that they were super preoccupied marketing the shit out of 300 at the time. which. ok very weird choice for kids toys)

then we have 2012 after nick buys the franchise. and 12 has the weird tonal dissonance of dark stuff and kid stuff, with the most "designed to be toys" characters in it, clearly messing w things in the show itself while it was going.

then bayverse comes out along side it and once its over we get rise, where the designs clearly take inspiration from that movie (donnie and raph specifically)

then mutant mayhem is announced and rise just. fades out of existence. planned seasons cut and cancelled. planned toys disappear.

anyway. none of those shows are bad. none of the movies that come out along side them are bad. its just the dumbassery of like. not being allowed more than one iteration at a time, and its nOT on account of popularity or brand synchronizing like youd think, its literally to not have to make as many DIFFERENT SHAPED hunks of plastic! its fucking stupid. rise's downfall seems to be POOR FUCKING PLANNING on playmates part for THEIR shitty toys and then also being cheap/unwilling to have TWO DIFFERENT KINDS OF TOYS AT ONCE (proof being the 03/07 thing)

anyway. thats my theory or whatever that fills me with rage. i hate playmates and i think its insane that the downfall of rise literally comes down to two stupid companies and their desire to sell garbage to children.

Greek Goddess Legacy Challenge: Generation #2 Aphrodite: Complete Sheets

I present to you: Aphrodite!

You’re pretty and you very well know it. Sims lie at your feet, so you decide to date and kiss as many sims as you want. Too bad no one can keep up with you, you never seem to find your match. This all changes when you see him. Ares, god of war. He is your equal in every way. You both fall madly in love with each other. No one can keep you two apart. Until your brother Crius forces you to marry rich and influential scientist Hephaestus. His ring feels like a prison. you find yourself falling back into old patterns and new beds. More often than not it’s Ares’. The magazines and public have a lot of opinions on your life, constantly bothering you and your family. but you don't care what they say. You deserve the world. All is fair in love and war.

Little bit explanation with the sheets: - First sheet is for describing your current generation, with the challenges you need to do each life-stage. Also, because I love the myths, a bit of mythological background. May it inspire you :) - Second sheet is the preparation sheet for this generation, with important characters for your story. It is technically optional, but I love seeing sims with a backstory in my world, so I would highly recommend it. - Third sheet is for your gens children. They all have their own little challenges if your interested in those. I try to make all of them a bit different from each other, so it doesn't get boring. Your heir is also on this sheet, but I've put their challenges on their own sheets. Stay tuned for those ;) - Fourth sheet is completely optional. If you want sims with names from the myths and love making sims to see them in your world, this is for you! All with a little mythological background ofc, you know me.

Next Generation is Hera! Previous (and first) Generation was Gaia

The Greek Goddesses Challenge by LJJ-Sims is a challenge based on the ancient mythical creatures and stories from Greece. I fell in love with Greek mythology in high school and have not let that love go since. In this challenge you will follow 10 deities in their journey through life. Every goddess has a different take on and goal in life. Special about this challenge?  All your kids have little challenges of their own, not only your heir. These challenges are optional, so if you feel like these are too much or just too restricting for you: by all means let them go. I also have sheets for characters that you can make before you start each generation. This gives your challenge a lot more personality and makes it frankly easier and more fun!

A little disclaimer: because I made these gods and goddesses into a legacy challenge, the relationships in the myths don’t exactly match the relationship in this challenge. There is a lot of keep it in the family in mythology, to put it lightly. And apart from the fact that you can’t do that in the Sims, I don’t really like that part. So I didn’t include it, thus the inconsistency. An example: Ares is now Hera’s stepfather instead of her son, which she conceived with her brother  and husband Zeus. This inconsistency can also be found in the stories. It’s just based on and not copied exactly, as Sims live lives that are a lot shorter than those of immortal gods. And it takes a way from the creativity if we just copy the myths. Even if we wanted to do that, it’s quite hard, as every myths has its fair share of variations and some are just completely different stories.
