please help i just had a dream where svsss was a dating sim. so, of course i tried pursuing shen qingqiu, but it ultimately backfired because suddenly he realized that he was in a dating visual novel?? and since i put myself as a guy, he just refused to show up to special in game events to avoid me interacting with him???

and obviously i was like "wtf why isn't he here?" when he didn't show up. then at some point i explored the area, and the screen suddenly zoomed in to show sqq talking to sqh (supposedly telling him all about the little situation). next thing i know, both of them are slowly turning their head to stare at the screen in pure and utter terror

also in some part of the dream, i think i did some liu qingge events or something and as his affection levels rose, he would continuously jump scare me by popping up out of nowhere and go, "its not like i like you or anything!!" while covered in blood and holding out a demonic beast head as if it were a box of treats

anyways, totally random question guys haha if i made an svsss visual novel dating sim would you guys play it. no reason in particular at all.

Sekido [in my head] has a mean exterior SO loud it makes you forget he's working with the others to actively protect the main body and has faith in their abilities. He gets annoyed at his younger counterparts cause he knows they're not using their full potential... I also really like how he's both very proper and improper, like a thug in a meeting or something... so cool.... Also, him taking the leader role and everyone going with it has big bro vibes.. oldest bro vibes.

Karaku [in my head] is the thrill seeker type who's more than willing to be the most annoying man around for the sake of his entertainment and living in the moment. He plays around rather than disposing of someone immediately like a fucking psychopath. Even if late, he knows when to get serious and when to tone down his antics. he still gets fucked over by playing with his opponents too much.. I like that he's not stupid, he's reckless. mega "cool big bro" aura.

Urogi [in my head] is obnoxious and loud, boastful even especially when he's either screeching or talking, never entirely silent. While he does fight on his own, he'd drop everything if given an order and try his best to comply. also a troublemaker... like a younger bro who never really has responsibilities but does them when told so he can go back to doing wtv he was doing before. Like he's just there to have a good time. He's also not stupid, just excitable, then he gets cocky, then gets his shit rocked.

Aizetsu [in my mind] is extremely sassy and gives passive aggressive vibes and prefers to deal with conflict swiftly because it's bothersome and makes him upset. He might look cute and weak, but he's scary. While he's sensitive, he's no pushover and will also cut pretty deep. He's definitely the younger brother who's trying to constantly get out of trouble by seeming like the angel.... It's also interesting because he never sugarcoats his words. He twists them in a way that makes him sound helpful and you, pitiful.

Zohakuten [in my mind] is a little hater who's most protective of everyone but, more importantly, the main body. He sees himself as a decent guy going against injustice for a man who's just trying to survive. Like a little bro who's stubbornly wrong about something he doesn't fully grasp. Also he's just so hilarious?? it was not necessary at all to insult your opponents looks then tell tanjiro to get over it cause the dead weren't relevant to him. How can someone so disrespectful come in a small package..

something that surprised me about pidw was that ning yingying, the childhood friend character, wasn't the first girl luo binghe had sex with. instead, qin wanyue stole his virginity at the immortal alliance conference.

but the more i thought about it, the more it made sense.

pidw!binghe's first time involved very dubious "i'd rather not but i guess if you're dying and you really want me to..." levels of consent on his part, with qin wanyue being far more active and manipulative.

the pidw readerbase didn't view it as assault at all, but as a "lucky guy" situation. even shen yuan is pretty dismissive when he recalls it in svsss. but it is manipulation and assault. it did hurt luo binghe. it did contribute to his blackening after all the suffering he endured before and at cang qiong. by the time luo binghe escapes the endless abyss, he turns around and does the same to countless others to satiate xin mo and expand his own power.

in zero-to-hero type male fantasy stories, tournament arcs right after abusive childhoods are THE place where things turn around for the better. the protagonist gets more powerful, shows off his hard work or insane deus ex machina skills, gains friends and rivals...

...but pidw was never meant to be that sort of uplifting story. instead, luo binghe gets sexually assaulted by an ally he'd just fought hard to save, then thrown off a cliff by his abusive teacher into a hellscape where he has to fight for his survive 24/7 for five years.

and the worst (yet most accurate) part is, because pidw is a male gaze harem porn novel, it frames all of that as good. desirable, even. an exciting empowering sexual encounter plus training for him to get revenge later. rape, what rape? luo binghe is a man, he should've loved something like that. the readers, even shen yuan, assumed he enjoyed it.

god. really makes it that much more tragic.

Imagine you're a Dungeon/Game Master for a group of yanderes-

*Sneak Peek* since I've been sick and not feeling up to writing. CW: implied and referenced violence and sexual intimacy. Nothing is explicitly mentioned (yet) but definitely implied.

Imagine being the Game Master for a ttrpg to a group of yanderes that have chosen you as their darling. Their eyes watching you completely enraptured, hanging on every word like it was the very oxygen they needed to breath. They ask endless questions about your homebrewed world- the lore, the NPC's, the religions and deities, hell, even the mindless and mundane politics intrigue them. At first, you were worried because they all seemed so competitive, almost aggressively so; yet, as you molded the story for them, urging them to create bonding moments, creating situations to encourage teamwork, friendship, even love for one another, they became close. Dangerously close, unknown to you. You've unknowingly forged your own little cage where you sat when they realize they can love each other and share you in the process. (After all, that's what you wanted right? That's what this was all about.) There's also the realization that with them together, no one can get in their way now; there's no way for you to leave them. The roleplay ends up becoming far more intense after that; so much so that you fluster in admiration and pride often whilst listening to them. "I knew you'd have it in you!" You'd cheer them on, endeared that they're finally getting along meanwhile they're so proud that you're all theirs.

Imagine how greedy they are for your praise. Constantly coming up with harebrained schemes that get you giggling, breaking character, round cheeks hot from trying to keep your composure. They somehow manage to pull off nearly perfectly coordinated plans without extensive conversations (that you're aware of, anyway). Even if the dice rolls unfavorably for them, they somehow manage it successfully. You're always giddy during combat, excited to see the quick thinking and silly solutions they'll come up with; and they can't stop coming up with new, creative surprises to keep seeing that awestruck look in your eyes trained on them (hoping it'd never leave them- always looking at them and only them with love and lust and-). Though, they have to admit, nothing quite beats the roleplay scenes between potential love interests you've created just for them that they'd been silently begging for. They know it's not really you saying it to them, but that doesn't stop them from leaning into it more intimately and getting you to answer similarly. (Doesn't stop them from recalling what you say later, at home...in bed...or the shower.) They tend to get a little teasing during these moments, too; eager to see you flustered and squirming in your chair.
