Guys idk if you can tell but I'm rapidly watching TV shows, listening to podcasts, and desperately catching up with the QSMP to keep my interest on one thing. It's not a good strategy lol.

I'm having trouble focusing, and my seasonal depression is really bad

guys i'm truly anxious about the election hysteria detracting from attention that should be going into fundraisers, so ahead of all the ruckus i genuinely think it's important to remember and that fundraisers remain paramount. platforming campaigns periodically is one of very few ways we can help and i'm worried many people will lose sight of that in the midst of the pointless discourse about the election. but it's literally all smoke and mirrors and none of it makes a tangible difference the way fundraising does

My roommates phone bill came out two weeks earlier than expected, and she pays it using her alimony, which is also on a schedule. Long story short, she's about $120 short of being able to cover everything she needs to cover this week, food, a drs appt, and gas. I am the only one in the house able to work, and I'm the sole provider of the household, and my checks this week and next are going totally to rent and food. She urgently needs help with this.

I once studied American Football- something I never cared for- including positions, titles, plays, and watching games, for weeks in order to write symbolism in a fanfic. I once studied how to play poker, practiced how to count cards, and played Spades more often just so that I could include them in a fic. And I am ass at math.

But if I can do those things, you are perfectly capable of putting in the far more important work and research to depict Black hair textures, including styles and hair care. While there are plenty of resources to lead you in the right direction, there is no bypassing the work and time required. Art as you currently do it took you time to learn- why would this be different?

I feel like I disappoint people on here kinda often when I don't have some link of a massive collection of "how to depict and understand Black hair". You're not just learning hair, you're learning an entire culture, as well as breaking biases you didn't even know you held- ofc it's not going to be an immediate process.

It's worth it. Be willing to commit to your Black characters.

i do love talking about how sy is weak to pathetic men but i just had a fucking moment because it occurred to me. sj is also weak to pathetic men. his favorite guy is yq (extremely pathetic) and a lot of his angst around yqy is that he thinks yqy doesnt need him anymore (is not pathetic anymore). his issues with men in general are that he perceives them as Threats (not pathetic)

a "man" carrying children of this age in such a way is seen as feminine, much more so than it would be in humans because it's coded heavily with their biology (to their conservative circles, this is low key drag?? since they’re wearing a replica of a female physical trait and using it in a woman-like way. Actual cross dressing/ drag for a rossetian man would involve a lot more horn covering, exaggerated pouch stuff, and dresses idk).

Rossetian tongues are highly sensitive and are used not only to smell but also to pick up on other chemical signals, like whether or not a root vegetable is good to buy. Very important for survival.
