in terms of a percy jackson au i know komaeda as a son of tyche seems fairly obvious but i feel like he works better as a son of nemesis (as a goddess of balance) with descendant blood from pluto (as a god of wealth)

for hajime, i think he'd be the son of a dryad and a human - not exactly a demigod, but not mortal either. an in-between, sort of stuck in limbo

specifically because i think the fact that the only page in the traitor's diary that could be used to weed them out being one that only hajime could reveal was on purpose, because it was a test komaeda set for hinata specifically knowing that he was the mastermind. which also pretty directly implies that his plan was never to kill everyone, but rather to see which hope would win out

if the rest of the students survived his sacrifice marks the transformation of ultimate despair into symbols of hope once again, or the students are killed and and despair is destroyed entirely. either way, hope wins, and he's the one who put together such a situation, making his sacrifice one that makes him worthy of the title ultimate hope.

i feel like it's implied that komaeda knew hajime was the mastermind specifically (not just a participant in the killing game) just before the chapter 4 trial and people often reference the "i know you don't matter, so why do i care about you anyway?" bit of that conversation but not the rest of it... but i think it has really interesting implications for the rest of komaeda's actions

komaeda would make a really good elementary school teacher because he's patient and really good at leading people towards conclusions without outright giving them the answer but by nature of being komaeda nobody will ever give him this job on purpose

I think the comedic potential of Kaito's talent is underutilized. Like, sure the "Ultimate Astronaut" hasn't been to space, but like how funny would it be if he's still like an esteemed rocket scientist and astrophysicist?

Like Miu tries to build another Jetpack That Sucks You Off™ after the first one explodes and Kaito takes one look at the blueprints and goes "Oh, you forgot an O-ring seal on the right SRB here, that should keep your fuel stabilizers from decoupling" to the abject bewilderment of the others.

The man deserves the Fred Scooby Doo treatment where he's still a dumb jock, but with a PHD.

my personal dr/mlp opinion is that hajime/naegi/komaeda would be blank flanks... it just makes sense to me because like, komaeda would use it as proof of his worthlessness. hajime would be insecure about it because like, everyone else his age already has one and it makes him feel left out. naegi gets his cutie mark with the title of ultimate hope (which also turns him to an alicorn because of coursezies)
