Hi, I'm Thistle Ishtar Daggers-Drawn and I'm a transgender woman squatting in the desert community of Slab City in Southern California.

I've just recently gotten a trailer and am building an underground house in anticipation of the scorching hot summer. During the summer here it gets to be 120°F or hotter so having an underground shelter (which can lower the temperature by 20-40°!) is a life saver!

Homeless LGBT couple asking for help!

Hello again, everyone.

It's a new year and we are still facing a lot of old problems. My family is homeless and it's been hard for either of us to find work. I've been working on things to try and make myself a better candidate for a job that would get us out of this situation but it's still going to take time. Right now, I'm getting really sick again and between my physical health and our mental health, my wife and I are having a difficult time.

We need help affording food, a motel room, and toiletries. Any help funding our needs while we look for work and while I recover is appreciated. It also helps to get fresh attention on this post as we get way more notes lately than funds. We have to pay our room every three days so this is a constant need. I appreciate everyone who has been helping so far and I'm hoping I won't need help for too much longer. Spirits have been very low and we are nearing our limit.
