I finished a series of shark potions for Sharktober!

The lore behind these potions is that they are based on shark eggs, otherwise known as mermaids' purses. Each one contains a dormant shark spirit. As long as the potion remains in the water the shark spirit is able to refill the potion after use. The potion can be shattered to provide a large boost of stats. Shattering the potion also frees the spirit. There is a small chance that the spirit will choose to join you as a companion <3

Wizard – Tiny monstrosity, unaligned

An arcane anomaly is what they described the wizard to be; a rejected experiment; nothing more to worry about they said – after all, it is just a lizard, they so naively thought. Shortly after, the streets of Falbheim were shattered by spells that were exclusively known to the well-read and most exalted scholars of wizardry. With all of the city’s magical stores, arcane schools as well as magically gifted resident, the wizard found a perfect place to live, to feed and thrive.

I made a few new wax seal stamps out of clay (like the ones I did for my worldbuilding stuff forever ago), this time just of random symbols that I thought might look good done in the style of painting over the raised part of the wax or etc. :0c Some of them aren't carved deep enough to really show up that well, but overall they worked okay for being clay lol

actively disappointed in y'all. i saw the "cohost mod is into cub porn" post reblogged uncritically on my dash a few times and was like hmm seems kinda flimsy so will not be reblogging. but to find out that the main target of the accusations in that post is a trans woman and that the accusations were really as unsubstantiated as they seemed... now of all times, in a conversation about leaving the site that was precipitated by spurious claims of sexual deviancy against trans women... i'm sorry but you simply can't be holding onto the whole "reblog warning posts about so-and-so being a sexual deviant" mindset even if you claim "oh but i won't reblog the unsubstantiated ones against trans women" cause clearly thinking that is not protection against actually doing it!

i've been thinking about how irrigo and violant work recently. so of course i had to make diagrams about it

i don't think the plaque is like a literal tangible thing like it is on your tooth or in your blood vessels, but it's more of a residue that either snaps the synapses immediately and makes it impossible to reconnect the memory or builds up over time on the synapse and makes it harder to access a memory

"with resistance" in this case refers to someone who uses or has been exposed to irrigo frequently over an extended period of time. it works in the same way as drug/antibiotic resistance does in the sense that your synapses grow more resilient to the effects of the plaque and don't just immediately break. think of it like going from dental floss to rope

i also think violant can provide resistance too - in this way it would more likely cancel out the effects of the plaque and it's like placing a casing over your synapse, but at the same time now you have both a violant casing (with violant being impossible to erase so the casing is there basically forever whether it's effective or not) and irrigo plaque on your synapses so it's not something you can do repeatedly without eventually damaging the synapse and doing something fucked up to your memory

there's also potential for the buildup of irrigo and violant causing toxic shock in the brain in the same way foreign objects do - it's only in a long-term sense and if left unchecked the body will start attacking itself and engaging an immune response to remove the buildup, which will in turn inevitably damage, weaken or break the synapse entirely

the way to treat violant+irrigo buildup is with exposure to apocyan. in essence this has the ability to remove the plaque buildup and the casing, essentially breaking it off your synapses, and can help to heal any damage caused by an immune response or the synapse being freed from the casing and plaque. in this it would return the neuron to its natural, unaffected state, and the pathway would neither have the benefits or drawbacks of using violant or irrigo

No connection with Haunted, although it could be. The heat combined with a never-ending migraine attack is killing me and I've done this just to keep myself busy without risking screwing up an important work. Can't wait for the heatwave to end...

Concept Items

I was supposed to present these in full some time ago, but I only showed animated videos of them, instead these are the official concept pages!

You all know the "Elemental Medallion", it's the mysterious object entrusted by Sky to Link

The "Advanced Device" is an item with great potential that Link finds in the Korok Forest

The "Angelic scepter" is actually an unknown since I'm undecided whether to remove it from the comic, but I'll let you know what I decide, however it is a magical item with two different effects

Finally the "multifunction cannon" a really powerful weapon that allows Link to produce different attacks

These concepts came to mind while showing old stuff from the comic on Discord "it was really funny by the way 🤣"

Krampling – Tiny fiend, chaotic evil

When things turn from bad to worse, it was the krampling – a cunning fiend emerging from the cold fogs covering the endless plains and mountain slopes. It is quite charming one and will try anything to hide its true motives. Happily, it offers help to the wounded or guidance for the lost; it has food, it knows the way or finds a solution – whatever it takes to convince its victims of its ″noble″ indentions. They say that only a heart of gold is safe from the krampling’s ill will. Those with an unburdened mind filled with malicious thoughts, however, will be chased – just as if the krampling was solely sent out to punish the wicked.
