listen, as someone who enjoys some good dragon drama, i feel fantastically well catered-to by this episode

the confrontation between rhaenyra and addam was fun, i liked that it's apparently kind of inspired by western face-offs but with dragons instead of guns

that conversation between larys and ironrod while they were watching aemond sentence men to the watch definitely implied to me that, unlike with his brother, the council is so wary of/intimidated by aemond they don't even want to talk to him about possibly important war developments. which does not bode well for team green's stability in the future, tbh

jace stop being mean about mysaria that's your mom's girlfriend you're talking about :(

i did find the conversation between rhaenyra and jace really interesting, i hadn't considered that the sowing of the seeds plan might bring out so much of his insecurities about being a bastard. he and rhaenyra have probably the most functional parent-child relationship in the show, but they really DON'T talk about this aspect of his life at all, and it really shows

oscar tully unexpected mvp of the episode perhaps? holding his own against that whole council of river lords…calling daemon loathsome…making him execute willem blackwood to atone for spurring on those war crimes…king shit!

i enjoyed getting to see viserys again, i've really missed his actor this season and seeing daemon's reaction to his ruined face was quite interesting

daemon you are SO close to realizing that you don't actually want to be king and would make a terrible ruler, i'm rooting for you to figure this out by the season finale

the scene with aegon and larys talking was probably my favorite from last week so i really liked that we got a follow-up on it. very impressed that aegon is capable of walking even the tiniest amount after what he's been through

rhaena running off into the mountains…she's getting that dragon by hook or by crook

ulf trying to get out of claiming a dragon by claiming he had an injury made me laugh

i like that hugh and ulf have totally different reactions to being possible dragonseeds, one boasting and the other hiding it

alicent was serving real ophelia by john william waterhouse vibes this episode

loved that the dragonkeepers had a huge fight with rhaenyra over the sowing of the seeds, they're in the background of so many dragon scenes but we've never gotten much perspective on what they think of dragons or the targaryen right to claim them before

i do admit to saying "wow, those are some toasty boys" out loud when vermithor was torching those poor dragonseeds

love love LOVE that we got to see both vermithor and silverwing this episode, they look so cool and i love their distinct designs

i have been waiting ALL SEASON for the payoff of hugh and ulf claiming those dragons and it was such an exciting sequence, you could really feel the adrenaline and the danger the whole time

ryan condal on the inside the episodes comparing the death of the dragonseeds to ritual sacrifice was also super fun symbolism

also house beesbury making problems for the hightowers, love to see it

after aemond has spent so much time this season intimidating and terrifying other people it WAS super fun to see him do a hard swerve into fear when he saw how many dragonriders rhaenyra has now

that final shot of rhaenyra standing on the dragonmount with syrax, vermithor, and silverwing behind her DID get to, i must say. it's house of the dragon! and we have the dragons!!!

okay yeah i am super hyped for the finale and whatever it may bring, seems like it's gonna be epic. the triarchy! the dragons! the riverlands! helaena in the war effort, apparently?! what fun!

"dude, you'd never make it with someone like them!" maybe you look over and see one of them elbow the other to try to get them to act cool - it's hard to remain calm when someone so perfect walks into a room!

after posting a selfie, your phone blows up with comments from so many thirsty mfs - "oh my god, you're SO gorgeous!" "are you single? you can't be single." "I can't believe someone like you exists!" feel your thumb scrolling through the seemingly endless comments from people you find attractive and fun who are hyping you up, people who could only dream of being with you. maybe you reply to comments, or maybe you make their heart flutter with just liking them.

you're having a conversation with someone who is so attractive (whether it's your SP or a stranger) at a public event, and the others in the room are visibly jealous; some come up to hover beside the person talking to you and try to get their turn to talk to you; one comes up with a drink or an offer to walk around the event; one even pulls the classic "is this person bothering you?" card. all you can do is smile knowing that everywhere you go, everyone is obsessed with you.

imagine walking into a room and having all eyes fix on you as conversations stop, because everyone is enamoured with your beauty!

so guys 🙋🏻‍♀️🌸 i have finished the entire new quest at last and omg 👼🏼 like this was outstanding!! you see, what i really enjoy about star rail is that it gives me similar vibes to hi3 in terms of the darkness in the plot, since hi3 is my favorite hoyo game i always love seeing stuff from it or just similar instances. SO YOU KNOW FOR A FACT I WAS SO HYPED WHEN ACHERON SHOWED UP 🤺 especially with the hi3 story with kiana as the mc being over and although i still love hi3 the most, kiana, mei and bronya, that trio, they were all the best characters together AAAARGHHH I SWEAR AND JUST THE ENTIRE STORY LINE WAS SOOO GOOD, I miss them all together as a trio and especially kiana, the best hoyo MC FOR LIFE. 🙋🏻‍♀️🩷

also guys, idk but aventurine's boss fight, 🤠 i personally expected more like it was so easy to beat ?! I THOUGHT I WOULD STRUGGLE BUT HE DIED PRETTY QUICKLY BUT ITS FINE, I STILL LIKE HIS CHARACTER 🌸🙋🏻‍♀️. + i was happy hoyoverse showed us his backstory and took their time to flash it out and not gloss over it in idk one/two scenes, but they really took their time with it which was amazing 🩷

also jade looks so cool as well! the design is very pretty and i can't wait to see diamond too, or the rest of the ten stonehearts but they're hyping diamond up so much like another emanator?? yes please, i'm all in🧎🏻‍♀️🩷

this entire quest gave me movie vibes, you were on edge the entire time and even during side quests you had to take, it was still very intense. it actually took me quite a bit to finish it of course since i'm someone who doesn't skip dialog, but it was so worth it and the best way to relax after a long day of moving my body 🩷 just laying in bed, playing while drinking tea!!

what i wanted to say too, guys honestly sunday is not okay HAHAHAHAHAHAH 🌝 I MEAN LIKE you guys🧎🏻‍♀️, that shiver in his voice at times and you can tell he low-key doesn't even know how to handle all of that either, of course, for one he looks like everything is accounted for while in the other, he sounds like he's losing his mind and can we blame him ???? when he went "why did you kill her" and lowkey cussed gallagher out i was like damn 🤠 okay 😏 HAHA + i'm somebody that doesn't think too much about theories, instead i love eagerly waiting for the next patch!! so i'm excited for what's coming 🩷 + robin's song slaps.

all in all guys!! 🩷 this quest was beautifully done, it had a lot of hard, dark stuff and it reminded me a lot of hi3, that's why i give it a 10/10, very well done. 🌸🩷

Watched Deadpool with my bestfriend.

The movie was good, but part of me felt like they were over doing a bit in some parts.

And i don't know why the whole TVA mixture is added

It felt like the Marvel universe collided with the Hitchhiker's guide to galaxy (not saying it's the same, but kinda like, how if you fuck up in one universe, there are a billion other timelines and all that bit, again I know not the same, but similar concept, and makes me feel weird because it gives the idea of a kind of simulation and that makes me feel weird.)

My point is I'm okay with the idea of multiverse, I love it even. But I'm not okay with a bunch of weird beings overlooking it all. The idea of multiverse existing is cool, but that's because it is simply existing. But when you bring someone who overlooks and does stuff to it, it makes me feel like 'eh. No.'

Other than that, one scene where Logan who was chained to something and there were like bloody skulls around him all over made me think of the scene in Bleach with Yhwach v. Yamamto's where Yamamto's bankai made dead comrades of Yhwach appear [all red and skull, skeletons (my god that was a beautiful scene, what brilliant portrayal, the bleach one, the Logan one made me feel bad for him]

And then, the fight scenes could have been choreographed in a better way, they were good but, some parts felt like they could've been better.

Loved the background music a lot. Loved the fourth wall break a lot. Deadpool is just all over the world.

And my god, they even referenced Batman. Hahahahahah.

When Deadpool was talking to Happy, and I saw the 'Proof that tony stark has a heart.' Fuck. I felt my feelings a little too much

And Wolverine. My god. The love I have for this character is so immense. It was Deadpools movie but Wolverine really stole the show, specially in that one scene *ahem abs ahem*

But fr, the love I have for Logan. The feeling I have. And specially when I saw the Logan movie. It was like my heart was ripped out.

And then Deadpool desecrated his grave. And then as he mentioned, they brought him back.

Also why is quicksilver dead every goddamn where.

And Xavier's sister. What are these concepts.

And also the scene where Wolverine's past is shown. How he killed...anyone who crossed his path, the good the bad, anyone. I kinda get it. Not justifying his actions but...it was his way of dealing with his feelings. And sometimes it feels like that, to destroy the universe at its core because the people you called home are no longer here.

But overall, fun movie, felt like it was hyped a bunch, but was fun nevertheless. The interviews and Ryan and Hugh everywhere was kinda fun too, they're a cute duo, ngl (platonic y'all).

But it's enough bringing dead back again in some way or another. It's like, i grieved for this character man, and I'm happy that he's back again....but he's technically not the same Wolverine i grieved for. He's not from the universe I have been watching since so long. So just bringing the same character just from a different universe, it feels like you're deceiving me and playing w my feelings for this character. Maybe I'm looking into it a bit too much, I'm not sure.

--That won't distract me from his impressive skills, tho. I mean, I already knew he had some cooking knowledge from Frozen Echoes (in that side-stroy where he goes ice fishing and then cooks the fish with Karu, Blade, and Eiden).

But this isn't just the rudimentary "cook a thing over a fire until it's not raw anymore" sort of situation---this is an actual understanding of how to cook something and why you should use certain methods for the best results.

My mans is fun to tease, but honestly, he deserves more credit!

I watched the fnaf film today (Britain moment) and omg I loved it.

Spoiler free review:

The plot is not revolutionary, it’s what you’d expect. Fun rather than scary. Definitely a film for fans (and one they will love, I have never heard a cinema react more than with this film nor have I had such a blast watching one).

Now for spoilers. I just need to collect my thoughts somewhere so this may be a complete mess but I don’t care, I’m just so happy.

Characters:

Mike and Abbey: They had a good dynamic. I was a bit concerned with how annoying Abbey was at the start but she ended up really adorable. The initial bratty behaviour really helps build our relationship with Mike. I also like how she just acts like a kid, she gets excited when she sees cool animatronic animals and reacts as you would expect when she thinks her aunt is gonna take her away. I really liked her which surprised me honestly.

Congratulations to Mike Schmidt for having common sense and communication skills. This man actually accepts what’s going on and rolls with it and this is definitely to the films benefit seeing as we know what’s up with the animatronics. Also, instead of going ‘oh no my sister is drawing stuff I see in my dreams guess I’ll look concerned about it’ he actually sits her down and talks it out which I really appreciated. I genuinely felt awful for Mike, the guy clearly has it rough and still is struggling due to his brothers murder. The scene where he sees what he could have had was genuinely touching and made me really feel for the guy. I think he was a solid protagonist.

Vanessa was cool, a fun character but not explored too extensively. She’s Williams daughter and knows exactly what’s going on at Freddy’s (possessions, bodies in suits and all) and has kept quiet due to William’s abuse. This is stated right at the end of the film and her having some history with Freddy’s is hinted at throughout. My non-fnaf friends missed that William’s abuse is why she never did anything because it was only stated in like at a push two lines and never shown in a flashback. This was a bit of a shame as it would’ve characterised her and William more and added to the sympathy we felt for her because she is still hiding that 5 kids bodies are in the animatronics while on the police force. Other than that I loved her childlike excitement when with Abbey and building the fort but also that she clearly had some deeper trauma related to Freddy’s.

William Afton: That Spring Bonnie entrance HOLY SHIT. The Silver Eyes! Genuinely the best shot in the film, it was creepy and so cool from a fan perspective, the cinema was hyped. From the get go when he’s in Steve Raglan mode and is describing Freddy’s, Matthew Lillard is nailing it. You immediately get that this is a sick man who is getting so much glee out of describing this place and knowing he’s getting another victim out of this whole thing. When he appears again at the end and taunts Vanessa it is again amazing characterisation, really sells that this guy is just an awful abusive plank. The way he shouts and kicks Mike, while a tad goofy because animal costume, was another great character moment, the sick joy he’s clearly getting from torturing Mike is evident from the line delivery. We also get a glimpse of why he does it, degrading the animatronics as they surround him and taunting them that he made them like that to hold on to the feeling of power he gets from his murders. Like I said before, I would’ve liked some content of him and Vanessa when she was younger to flesh that dynamic out more, but overall I loved the portrayal. It is all that I thought William Afton would be, a cruel egomaniac with no remorse and a God complex. The moments we got of him were highlights.

Golden Freddy/vengeful spirit kid: Another great character lifted from the games. From what we know of Cassidy, boy does he live up to vengeful. Very cold and downright manipulative towards Mike in the nightmare scenes where they interact directly. The bit at the end where he stands staring a William dying in the suit was just fantastic and a great nod to UCN.

The aunt: She does her job, you hate her and makes you root for Mike but beyond that nothing noteworthy.

Moments in the film:

Cold Open: It was very exciting. Great to see the animatronics in action. The acknowledgement of the 2nd and 3rd games vent mechanics where also cool. Probably the most downright scary it gets.

Opening credits: An amazingly animated scene which explained the backstory and paid homage to the 8-bit mini games of the series. We also got our purple guy actually purpling. It was very cool to finally see the actual luring in some form in official media. A lovely mini tribute to a core aspect of the games.

The Foxy runs: Yes they did it 3 times. Lazy? Maybe. But did it have me giggling like a schoolgirl each time? Absolutely. The humming ripped from the game made me smile like a child on Christmas the first time I heard it. The second run was fantastically shot. Seeing him at the end of the hall and cutting to a close up shot/jumpscare was great, up there with one of the best moments for me personally.

The break in: WAS THAT THE BITE OF ‘87?!? Freddy bit that woman fully in half and it was incredible, probably the scariest the film gets. There is only so scary you can really make the animatronics outside of the game setting so it wasn’t especially scary outside the previously mentioned bite. I was just smiling the whole time while these people were getting murdered because I have waited for 7 years to see this stuff happen on the big screen. Is the cupcake (which is used multiple times) goofy? Yes. But boy does it do some damage (that poor man’s face) and is a fun Nightmare Chica bedroom jumpscare nod.

Seeing the endo’s: Just wow, it looked so good.

They build a fort: The animatronics just join forces with the main character about half way though and build a fucking den in the middle of the Pizzeria. It was very funny and plain good fun. Bonnie fell over which was very dumb but in the charming way. It’s nice to see the film acknowledge that these are children haunting the suits, of course they’re gonna want to do dumb kiddish stuff like this given the chance. Not what I was expecting at all but Freddy Fazbear held a chair so my life is now somehow complete.

The weird ghost attack: Jeez Mike goes through it from those ghost kids. I’m glad they did it that rather than having him get beaten up by robot suits. But boy does he get it rough, properly gets beaten up.

Golden Freddy in Mike’s house: Pretty cool. Again vengeful spirit does a lot of the lifting on the scary part but God is Golden Freddy’s design cool. Genuinely one of my favourite renditions of the character design wise. It’s unfortunate we never got to see him slumped over.

The explanation to why the ghost are attacking: This wasn’t explained great. Basically, William is somehow manipulating the kids since they don’t remember anything however we only I get an ‘I don’t know how he does it but he does’ from Vanessa which isn’t very satisfying. That said I’m not sure how else the film could’ve explained it. The whole ‘show them what really happened’ hardly made any sense apart from the ‘kids learn through pictures’ stuff given at the beginning.

Saving Abbey: Not scary, but the animatronics are cool and the Freddy snapping over in Mike’s direction was awesome. However, overall the final act wasn’t the strongest aside from the few minutes William showed up.

The Springlocks: It. Happened. Was it overly gory? No. No screaming in agony either. But it was so cool to see it happen. I know others will probably be disappointed with it but I honestly felt it was completed by the later scene where William is still dying in the suit and reaching out for Cassidy to help him. Basically it wasn’t as extreme as what everyone hoped for (basically that amazing fan audio that I don’t know where comes from) but it was still great to see. I also liked how the animatronics dragged him off while he writhed, though the writhing was subtle due to how bulky the suit was.

‘I always come back’: This got cheers and was good to hear. My initial reaction was that it felt forced because he says it as he puts the suit head back on as he dies but my non-FNaF friend had a different perspective which made me kind of like it. He thought it was him saying ‘I’ve always been come back and have been using you to hurt others and you didn’t realise,’ as a final taunt in line with his previous ones. It made me think about it more and I think I get the intention now. I think he was declaring that the ‘yellow rabbit’ that killed them will reappear to hurt them again because even if they kill him, he knows he will come back because he will possess the suit like the children have. In putting the suit on he’s just making sure he can haunt and hurt them longer. So yeah, with some deeper thought, I quite like this moment, it makes the agony of he’s in in the following scene with Cassidy more karmic, he might still be able to come back now but GOD is he suffering for it.

The credits: WE WON. They played The Living Tombstone! First two notes and the cinema erupted, I’ve never heard anything like it when watching a film, not even with Avengers: Endgame way back when, you could tell everyone was elated. The waves of nostalgia! I was smiling and dancing in my chair and my non-FNaF friends will probably never let me live it down. I cannot describe how good it felt to hear that song, felt like my childhood was completed.

Right off the bat the book with ‘Dream Theory’ plastered on the front made me chuckle and immediately made me know that I was gonna have a blast watching this.

Chica’s Magic Rainbow as a ice cream shop(?) logo was a fun little nod to fnaf world that I’m glad was put in.

The Springlock suit that they tried putting Abbey in was Baby, her design from the books, more precisely the design off of the 3rd ‘Fazbear Frights’ book which made me slightly giddy. It looked REALLY cool as a suit regardless of if it was a reference.

The ‘Save Them’ at the end of the credits: Holy hell my jaw hit the floor, such a fun treat for staying right the way through them.

Cameos:

CoryxKenshin: We already knew about the first one but he appears mid credits and gets Balloon Boy-ed which was very funny.

MatPat: The cinema went mad, properly shouting with excitement. Apparently he had a ‘that’s just a theory’ reference in the line he said but everyone was cheering too loud so I couldn’t hear it. It made me very happy he was there considering he’d played it like he wasn’t asked.

The fnaf YouTubers on the wall: Don’t think you got a good look at it so you wouldn’t know if you hadn’t already heard it was a thing.

To conclude:

Overall it was a film I really enjoyed, just a blast to watch that, while flawed in places, made me smile, laugh and excited point like an idiot at the screen. Films are allowed to be dumb fun and this is one of them, especially for a fnaf fan. I love this film and I don’t care what anyone says because it is 2 hours of my childhood.

There are two, soon to be three, canon graphic novels.

Through the Moon takes place between seasons 3 and 4, like a little season 3.5 It isn't Necessary to read it before watching S4 but the story is cool and the extra information is neat. It feels like we might get more info regarding what happened to Rayla while she was gone later in the show

Bloodmoon Huntress takes place when Rayla is a child around when her parents leave. Lots of Runaan and Ethari, also introduces Kim'dael who will be in S5. Again, not Required reading but a fun extra story.

Puzzle House is coming out August 1st and is about Claudia and Soren as children, and we also get a look at younger Viren and other people. Harrow's father, King Atticus is still king in this one so interesting Katolis lore, SUPER hyped for when we get to read all of this one. The Scholastic link has a 15 pages preview if you wanna take a peek.

There are novelizations for Dragon Prince Season 1 and Season 2, they add a bit of introspection and small extra details. Viren in particular gets more of his internal thought processes laid out and for me it just Confirmed a lot of things. Season 3's novelization is coming out April 2nd, 2024. I'm sure all 7 seasons will eventually have novelizations.

Tales of Xadia is the ttrpg book and it's gorgeous and is probably the most lore heavy supplemental material as far as world building goes. The system also looks fun! The website has a character builder too for OC making. As a writer, it's been a great help as far as seeing some aspects of the world laid out. The system looks fun and there are videos of some of the cortex(?) team playing ToX official tales/campaigns but I haven't watched them yet. The campaigns are also available to look at online too.

I think that ToX is getting an expansion at some point since the base game doesn't touch much on Ocean or Star magic, I imagine due to spoilers for the seasons we're coming up on.

There's also a tabletop game called Battlecharged which I haven't personally played and I don't think it Adds lore but I've heard it's fun.

Also, it will likely be a long time before we see it, but there's a video game in the works as well that's in alpha testing right now called Project Arcanum. Wonderstorm is pretty busy!

Reflections are official short stories hosted on TDP's website and all of them are excellent and provide little extra scenes. Some of them are quite impactful, and the ones in this second batch are promising an absolutely wild S5. The first batch was released pre S4 and the second batch is being released now pre S5 as we count down to the new season. They aren't Required reading since the most key information from them will be in the show (going by the S4 ones) but I highly HIGHLY rec reading them all. Banger after banger. As of posting this there may be one more coming.

There's also little 4 panel comics called Everyday Xadia that have been also released during countdown mode and they're just fun/cute. Volume One and Volume 2 (still coming out). Sometimes when people say comics they might mean these, or the graphic novels lol.

The very moment your wondering eyes met with Gojo Satoru’s was the moment declaring the last night of your life. That frightful Halloween night, you were the one with the shiny price tag that captivated him that night.

Everything was going perfect. It was one of those cool autumn nights, the city radiant with luminous, twinkling colors. You were at this Halloween party taking place at a friend-of-a-friend’s luxurious mansion. The nightly ambiance was exhilarating, the Halloween decorations were spot-on, and the drinks were strong enough to ease your mind. There was also a large platform set up as a stage with instruments, multi-colored spotlights, and a fog machine lightly filling the room.

You were leaning against the wall finishing up your drink, all glamorous in your skimpy costume while absentmindedly seeing young adults on the dance floor all over each other and raising their red cups in the air with a grin. That’s when the loud music started to fade, and a man walks up the stage with a microphone.

“How’s everybody doing tonight!?” he exulted, hyping the crowd up with cheers. “I know y’all have been waiting long enough to see our guest performers tonight! We have a tribute act performance by our favorite local grunge band, who just debuted three months ago. Now, please welcome, Flirt With Death!”

The crowd goes wild again, hyping up the band members as they make their way up the stage. Hearing the name suddenly heightened every nerve of your body, as if you were just electrocuted by the most hazardous downed powerline. The more the party got louder, the more your adrenaline rushed. You were in utter bewilderment of everything that was happening at that moment, and nothing could tame the fiery excitement coursing every fiber of your being.

Flirt With Death was your favorite band from your city. And to have them be guest performers for this insanely huge Halloween party caught you utterly by surprise, vanishing your regrets of showing up here with people you barely know. Squeezing your way through the crowd to get closer wasn’t much of a problem since it was loosely crowded. Your body falls to a feverish state at the heavenly sight of the lead singer, Gojo Satoru. Nothing could soothe the erratic adrenaline rushes from being up close and seeing him in person for the first time.

“Thank you for having us tonight. It’s so good to be here with y’all!” Gojo exulted into the microphone, the teeth flashing from his wide grin so radiant you could become blind. “We’ll be singin’ a few of our favorite covers! I hope y’all enjoy and have a happy fuckin’ Halloween!”

The crowd roars again as the drummer counts off with the sticks and the electric guitar riffs take over your ears. Nothing— literally nothing could compare to the elated expression plastered on your face that night. It was as if your body was on fire. As if a brilliant, radiant firework set off in your chest. You had a restless heart, a squeezing sensation in the outer edges of your body, and a rushing flow of ecstasy from the exhilarating moment…

You managed to make it to the front of the stage, craning your neck back and grinning so widely as Gojo was doing dramatic poses and expressions to the lead guitarist playing the intro to the song “I Wanna Be Your Dog” by John McCrea. The electronic punk riffs sounded incredibly vibrant, thrilling you and everybody else in the party as if you were in a rave. Dark red spotlights, increased fog from the machines, the clashing of the drums overpowering your ears, and Gojo’s titillating stage presence sending you ablaze.

You couldn’t take your eyes off him; that frost-haired man with pale, angelic skin, glossy soft lips, and an enticing appeal to him. It felt slightly infuriating to you that there could be other girls from the crowd who’s never seen this heavenly man before and could start falling for him. Ever since you discovered them, you started gatekeeping— the band, the discography, and Gojo himself. They were still unknown at that time, their monthly listeners on Spotify ranging around 60,000. Without thinking twice, an exhilarating thought rushed past your mind that night: A chance to interact with Gojo before anyone else could.

If only you knew that your desperation would soon lead to your demise. Because at that very moment, where the world slowed down and fell blurry to the climax of the song, it felt as if it was just you and Gojo. Acknowledging your curious presence down at the crowd. Him making the most intense, prolonged eye contact with you through those hypnotizing, icy blue eyes, burning into yours. The last time of your perfect life where everything felt so surreal— being noticed by your long admired idol. Gazing down from the stage, giving flirty winks and genuine smiles at you like the only girl at the party. It was your dream come true, your perfect fairy tale ecstasy, your moment.

“What’s your name?” he asked, squatting down on the stage before you without the microphone.

“Y/N,” you replied, internally gushing.

“Let’s have some drinks together, Y/N. Meet at the bar later!”

But little did you know that spending the rest of the night while drunk was your last ever experience of happiness.

After the band's performance, you were at the designated bar. You felt like the most ravishing, enchanting girl at the party that night— to ever be offered drinks in the presence of the most beautiful man you ever laid your eyes on. You were stunned beyond your belief. Gojo wasn't even a big star (yet), but in your own eyes he exhibited the title so perfectly. He watches the way you get all coy and coquettish with him like a hopeless romantic, swooning over his divine voice and how his songs were like harmonious love spells to you. You tell him that his divine talent and beauty blossomed something in you the day you discovered him back in Summer 2021, that sultry, sensual Summer where nothing mattered to you... Consuming his music, his creativity, his passions, his undying love for his listeners… There was something about Gojo fucking Satoru that utterly bewitched you.

An ardent couple you two were that night, drinking and giggling together as the crowd of the party kept growing when time passed. As the man kept buying you more drinks, you didn’t realize he was moving you to different areas of the large estate. First, the both of you were on the dance floor, feeling the stranger caressing your waist when you kept moving your body on his. He cupped your face as if he knew just what you wanted. And once your lips finally met, something like fire and passion ignited, deepening the kiss. As if a kiss from who you thought was Gojo Satoru himself couldn’t intoxicate you more, he kept encouraging you to drink up from his cup, holding your chin up and watching the way you consumed the mysterious liquor. And then at that moment, everything started to change.

You were slowing down while the world around sped up. Nothing was making sense to you. Your eyes began to sulk and your knees felt weak. The next location you remembered that night was somewhere in a secluded lounge area, where nobody else was. You kept babbling on and on about nothing, since you lost hold of your coherence, allowing him to keep you drinking. He was moving you around like a lifeless doll, feeling all fuzzy and floating as he kept speaking words to you that you couldn’t make out. But of course, in the vulnerable state you were that your mind couldn’t keep up with, you listened to everything he said to you and took every word and every behavior of his as if it was good for you.

“Tonight, you belong to me,” he cooed in your ear while you were on his lap. “I’ll own you in every way possible… because after this, I have a surprise for you.”

There was nothing that could stop your strong and unbearable passion for Gojo. Even in your drunken state, you couldn’t get ahold of your excitement. You were ready for this, you were made for this. Made for him. This was your everything with him, and being high and intoxicated together felt like writhing into an unexplainable ecstatic state of mind. The slapping of your skins, the sweet moans, loss of breath, the heat, the unforgettable sensation. Each hard thrust into your aching cunt sent you ablaze. Oh, to lose yourself in indulgence to one of your wildest groupie fantasies.

“Well. Took you long enough to finally become sober. You drank so fuckin’ much that you puked in the back of my car. What a mess.”

You froze as a familiar voice from behind drew closer, hearing the rustling of leaves and trudging of dried dirt just to stand before you. And there you were; bewildered. Who you thought you could trust, the lead singer of Flirt With Death, Gojo fucking Satoru— that godsend man with a voice as heavenly as angel hymns… looking right down at you with a smirk on his face.

And there you finally realized; Gojo Satoru was nothing but a twisted, revolting man. He would go beyond recklessness just to embrace the fame, the fortune, and the adoration.

“What’s the matter, eh?” he chuckled, popping open a bottle of Delamain Cognac. “It’s not my fault you wanted to get wasted. You were so wild out on the dance floor and with me. I know you know I may like my girls fuckin’ wild, but after all that… I just had to take you out here. Away from the party and everyone. But at least I’m the only decent human being to take care of you.”

At first you lied to yourself that this couldn’t be him. But the denial you puddled up just to admire and satisfy this man, soon fell short to a malicious, cruel truth. You couldn’t help but let out more tears and sobs, shaking your head rapidly while feeling an uncontrollable ache in your heart like you were stabbed numerous times with a razor-sharp knife. Your trust, your admiration, your passion to be with him all crumbled down in the most gut-wrenching and acrimonious pain you’ve ever endured.

Suddenly, you were furious. So fucking furious that you started cursing and chastising at him, not caring if your words were muffled or if tears streamed down your face. You yanked hard on the ropes that was tied to the post as if you were going to charge right at him. But the man smirked down at himself, hefting a chuckle at your poor attempt of running free from his rope artwork. As kind as he could be, he ambled closer to pull the gag off your mouth and held your chin up.

“You fucking idiot,” you condemned sharply to the singer, glaring up at him. “Do you not think about what would happen if your bandmates found out what you were doing? Kidnapping and killing one of your biggest fans? And for what fucking reason?! Why me?”

Gojo’s heart raced, feeling hysterical and every immense level of insanity every second from the atrocious words you spat. He kept smirking down at the ground, the most twisted smirk you saw from him it horrified you. He then chuckled wickedly. His adrenaline was soaring, hence this was the first time he’s ever attempted doing a ritual for the better cause of his world. A world where everyone will know his name, plastered everywhere like billboards, magazines, articles, movies, TV shows…

“Oh, kidnapping and killing you? What the fuck do I look like, those fuckers you hear from True Crime? No… I’m Gojo fucking Satoru. I’m a fuckin’ star. The whole world is gonna know my name. A man like me deserves to have his name in spotlights. A man like me deserves to be the center of attention with all the flashing lights and the press running toward me for interviews. And once I sacrifice you to the devil, he’ll gift me popularity in return. This is the life I deserve and accept… And my bandmates? Their only use is making me my goddamn music. Nobody will care about them since they’ll be irrelevant compared to me.”

Your heart faltered, shaking your head rapidly at the shame Gojo forced you to endure. The shame for ever falling for him, the shame for drinking even though you couldn’t remember well if he was the one buying drinks, the shame for putting yourself in this situation.

“Sacrifice..?”

“Yes, sweetheart,” Gojo beamed enthusiastically, taking another heavy sip of his alcohol. “I’m linked with my demons and my devils now. Like fuck, do you know how hard it is to make it as an indie band these days? Of course you don’t, you’re literally a nobody. But this fucked up industry is only useful for their hyperfixation on a top celebrity and I’m gonna take advantage of that. And because of your ‘undying love’ you professed to me… the greater your admiration, the better my reward will be. The devil would love that.”

“No. No…”

Gojo shattered the wide bottom of his wine in the fire, watching the flames blooming greater. “You know, Y/N? I just— holy shit, I just had to fuckin’ break you! I just wanted to ruin you because you were my biggest fan and for the fun of it. If I made you the happiest woman alive tonight just by spending time with me like my fucking groupie or some shit… I could so easily take that away. Oh, Y/N. You should know better than to glorify your idols…”

When the shards from the bottle scattered, in the corner of your eye there was a tiny glass shard right next to you, sharp enough to free you from your ropes. Before Gojo could turn around, you grab it from the ground with your mouth and spit it right behind you for your hands to grab. Your heart was pounding erratically when he turned around, raising the weapon above you with both his hands as if he was holding a dagger, licking the bottom of his lips and chuckling deeply at your helplessness. Your eye immediately caught the shiny glints on the shattered wine bottle, catching your own horrified expression through the reflection.

“With the deepest malice, I deliver this broken woman onto thee,” he recited with charisma.

You went back to sobbing and crying out, tugging as hard as you could to break free but all you endured was the agonizing pain stinging your wrists. The blood flow from your fight or flight response being blocked was already turning your hands numb. Every inch of your fragile body was in pain from the fire and the agony. But luckily, you managed to get ahold of the shard clenched in your fists.

“Oh, come on. You’re too fucking pretty to be crying like that for me,” Gojo coaxed. “Sadly I can’t make any promises on how quick you want this to end. I mean— it is my first time murdering somebody. And for a really good cause, too!”

“Fuck you!” you spat out, your voice shaky from the tears welling down your aching face. With your rage fuming in your core, you forced yourself to glare sharply into the hypnotic eyes of the vile man one last time, your nose flaring with hatred and your jaw clenching tightly.

“I hope the whole world finds out what you’ve done,” you whispered, hefting a weak scoff. “Because once you do this… you’ll have to live with this memory forever. That on this Halloween night… you took an innocent woman’s life.”

Gojo, as insensitive and nonchalant about the situation he could be, replied with nothing but a scoff. He then lowered the bottle in his hands and squatted down to meet your eyes at the same level, deadpanning into you coldly.

“Let me tell you something. The whole world is too busy idolizing the most fucked up people. Whether I be famous as a talented singer, as a vile murderer, or maybe a fucking Satanist— this world will idolize me no matter what. Lots of women and men will continue swooning over me. My name and my face will appear everywhere, from articles to national billboards and TV. And I’ll never experience a downfall in this career I’m about to enter in, you know why? My fans will just blindly follow me like dogs. Flirt With Death will be the most successful indie rock band in Hollywood after I give Satan what he wants. Which is, a lucky woman like you.”

“Lucky? You’re a sick fucking bastard!” you cried out.

“Oh, but you are lucky!” Gojo bantered, slanting his head at you. “I’m even planning to write a song about you. You know, as my biggest fan, I think that’ll be pretty cool!”

He inched forward and held the back of your head with his right hand, soft caressing you as you sobbed uncontrollably. You were deep down repulsed from him caressing you and trying to comfort you as if you weren’t about to face a possible demise. But it was all a distraction for him while still cutting through the ropes slickly, even having to hurt yourself. You had no mental energy to flinch away from him or curse him to get off you. You just kept your eyes shut as he pressed his forehead against yours, taking in his scent that you used to admire but now fall physically sick from. Being in the presence of this man alone now made you ill.

“Shh, shh… I’m gonna count to three, and then it will be all over. Okay?”

“No, please!”

“Three!”

Your eyes immediately flung open and you threw your head back in an instant, head-butting him as hard as you could before he could grab the bottle off the ground. You screamed from the immense migraine pain throbbing constantly in your head, panting heavily as you slipped your wrists free from the ropes you managed to cut with the shard. Then, you cut through the ropes binding your legs, wincing from the shard cutting into your thighs from rushing to break free. As you stood up, Gojo started frowning after his temporary unconscious state. You had to run.

No, not run.

Burn his fucking body. Then run.

Before any innocent girl that Gojo may prey on could suffer through the same traumatic fate, you dragged his unresponsive body near the fire by holding under his arms, struggling from how heavy and strong he was. You were almost there, almost ready to run and embrace your freedom. The adrenaline rushing in your body was unbearable and you were deep down frightened. Your head was also still pounding after forcing all your strength and willpower to thrash into his head. But it was the best you could do to knock him out. You would do anything to survive.

“Got’cha!”

When Gojo’s eyes flung open and grabbed your ankle, you stumbled over and screamed, almost about to fall into the fire until he grabbed you and shoved you in a different direction. He got on top of you and got ahold of your struggling body, still screaming in agony and the unbearable pain scorching in your back from the wine bottle shards on the ground poking into you. He pinned down your bleeding wrists onto the ground and straddled on top of you. All of a sudden, you resorted back to crying from this unpredictable ultimatum. What you thought was a chance of survival had left you in a state of hopelessness.

“That was a fucking sick move back there,” Gojo marveled, breathing heavily into your face. “I admire your will to live, sweetie. I really do. But remember the promise you made to me when I fucked you at that party? As my groupie, you receive the honor of dying for me.”

“No!”

Before you know it, your eyes widen in horror at Gojo snatching a large shard off the ground and brutally stabbed it in your throat. You immediately gag and choke from the blood clogging in your throat after screaming in immense pain. Puddles of crimson clotted blood coat on the grass and soak your neck. You struggled to raise your arms to try and gouge his eyes, but your staggering strength began to falter. In fact, he kept repeatedly stabbing your throat. It didn't take long until your weakened, bruised, and ruined body grew numb. A sign of your beautiful life fading away tragically.

Moments later after gasping your last breath and dying right there, Gojo pulled out plastic gloves from his pocket and proceeded to cut open the middle of your chest to snatch your heart, which was perfectly unharmed. It made him gag a little, but he managed to fight it with his motivation. Your heart was the final offering piece for the ritual, and the gateway to his taste of success, fame, and fortune for Flirt With Death. For him mostly.

“I will remember this night,” Gojo whispered, grinning widely now that his dreams were right at his fingertips. He could feel it, he could taste it.

“I’ll brag to your face all about my new life when I meet you in Hell one day…”

I read your answer about 07 Mikey and it also kinda gives the vibes of Bayverse Mikey, specifically the version of him from the second movie. His main thing is that he wants to be out in the world and meeting new people, and he actually cries when the police turn on them and call them monsters. Im genuinely so obsessed with that scene.

I'm kinda new to the fandom and as I understand the bayverse movies are so-so in most people's opinion. But those were my initial entry point into the franchise back in like 2015/2017, so they do hold a special place in my experience.

For the actual ask: thoughts on Bayverse Mikey?

OHH OHHHH BAYVERSE MIKEY!! i do actually very much like those movies. like yourself, a big part of it is just nostalgia because i got into tmnt like as they were coming out but. they aren’t like the WORST movies ever. they have their flaws and there’s definitely a lot of things i do not like about them but.. im one of the few that will hype this movie up so. thank you for enabling me.

off the bat i wanna say everything about bayverse mikey is special to me. completely ignoring and erasing the whole. awkward weird april crush he had going on. bayverse mikey is actually so enjoyable. he’s funny he’s just Typical little brother but oh my god is he so sad :( again he’s just the perfect culmination of that whole “sociable extrovert forced to be introvert” type that most of his iterations are but this one.. this version just hits different.

one of my favourite plot points ever is that when it’s revealed that there is a very real chance that they could become human and live normal lives, the first thing leo does upon discovering this is make it VERY clear that mikey is not to find out. of course, it takes all but 10 seconds for him to find out because raph has overhears and gets SUPER offended on his brothers behalf (again. something they do SO WELL is the mikey and raph duo in this movie vs leo and a begrudging donnie, something not often done!) and of course, mikey is just so conflicted the entire movie and it’s wonderful.

he’s so tortured in that sequel. he’s SO desperate for a normal life. he has the chance, right there and leo basically snatches it out of his grasp and he kinda just rolls with it because it’s his brothers or nothing at the end of the day, and that’s SO SAD!! but going back to the whole point of leo being up in donnie’s grill like “yeah ok whatever there’s a retromutgen keep that under wraps, mikey is to NOT find out about this” just proves that each of his brothers understand how much their brother is hurting for a life of normality. i think i made a list once regarding which turtles would be most likely to want to be human/live amongst the humans and mikey almost always came up on top.

he’s always the “cool party fun dude” which is often code for comic relief character but when you look into it. these are characters that are forced into a hard, cruel life away from society. characters that for a good 15ish years, only know each other and their father. imagine mikey spending all that time, desperate for normality and for friends… like yeah he has his bros but he knows there’s more out there in the world and he wants it so much more than the others do.. and that’s why leo gets hot on donnie about keeping the retromutagen a secret. he knows what mikey will be thinking. he’s watched him play it out a million times over as kids, and leo is just so afraid that in giving him a choice, he’ll lose his brother because of it…

and when mikey does get to experience the world for the first time, he’s called a monster and almost killed. leo warned him of it and yet he still had faith that he had a place in the world only to be proven wrong almost instantly.. that’s so devastating. i remember sobbing in the theatres during that scene and i still do shed a tear when i rewatch because damn!!! mikey being sad is so gutwrenching:(((

but yes. i don’t think we ever talk about bayverse mikey and all his trauma enough simply because those movies get a somewhat bad rep. again, im not claiming them to be perfect movies. sadly all of those points i just mentioned kinda fall flat when you remember the, ahem, shell tightening comment he made… but i digress. he’s a sad little turtle that deserves more love than he’s given. and i shall love him :P

So Murder Drones Ep 8

I was so excited for it but ended up being really disappointed 😭😭😭 the animation was gorgeous and the fights were cool but the ep was only 20 minutes which was NOT long enough 😭😭😭 episode seven went all out with the horror and displaying the power of the absolute solver, just how deadly and bleak the situation is, and then right off the bat in ep 8 we're getting comedy and Nuzi getting together?

It keeps switching back and forth between the usual Murder Drones humour and the horror scenes with Cyn, which made it really difficult for me to feel any tension? The scene were Uzi was desperately shoving her core back into her body without any arms was horrific but so short and I wished we had more moments like that?

Then Cyn was just defeated really fast. Yeah they're fighting her the whole ep, but the actual effort to use the null and defeat her and all that was crammed in near the end. She is a world devouring entity, and yet we don't get the characters trying to make a plan? It felt so quick and effortless, it just had me like "wait, that's it?" And then I see there's two minutes left. What.

There also was barely time to breathe. It was just action, comedy, horror moment, action again. I would've liked some slower scenes to balance it out?

There just doesn't feel like there's any stakes, and tbh bringing V back just made that worse. It took away the sense that not everyone is going to make it out alive. And yeah, for an episode titled "Everything Ends" it was disappointing to see that they took the safe way out and had everybody, even the solver, survive. It just cuts to Uzi finishing her presentation and was so startlingly happy and upbeat for an ep that was so hyped up and made you feel so much dread. And speaking of the characters, it's annoying to see characters like Nori or Khan barely have any point in being there? It feels like Nori was just there for exposition and giving N the crucifix in the precious ep, she could've been replaced by someone else without much change?

Ofc, I don't absolutely hate this episode. I adored the Nuzi moments and I liked getting to learn a little bit more about J. It was fun to watch the fights and though it was tainted by the comedy, the horror elements were still very good and fun. I enjoyed watching it, but I'm still very disappointed. It feels like there's a chunk of stuff missing.

- Mista had it rough in the past before joining Bucciarati so he appreciates your calm and introverted nature. It brings a sense of peacefulness to him that wants to cherish before it can all go wrong...

- Mista loves the most how empathetic and booksmart you are. He finds your empathy refreshing and inspiring in this world. He's more street smart so of course you'll work together amazingly well. Mista also has his eye on everyone who might want to benefit from your kind, understanding nature. He's protective but because he knows you can stand up for yourself he's not that obvious about it.

- So of course, as much as Mista loves you, he won't get that clingy (not in public at least) and will give you some space when you need it. Everything just flows naturally with him.

- He's there for you when you get burnt out socially. He got you, don't worry. Mista notices right away and puts his arm around your shoulders and does the talking. He'll assure you that shortly, he'll get you to a silent place where you can rest and recharge.

- The sextet of his tiny Stands, Sex Pistols adore you. Mista doesn't even has to tell them to protect you during a battle because they already know that it's what he wants. That's probably how his feelings for you get exposed, once he lets them out to hang around for a bit, they start jumping on your shoulder, shouting about how Mista has a big crush on you. Watch Mista sigh and get angry at his own Stand.

- Mista likes that you have many fun interests, he's never bored with you. He also has some interests and wants to share them with you. For him, you're the perfect combination of peacefulness and fun.

- Nap dates. He went through so much in this part, no one can lie that he didn't get tired at some point. He does feel tired now and then but doesn't really show it. If you come up with the idea or it simply happens, you'll have him wrapped around you, softly snoring. If not, I can picture you accidentally falling asleep on his shoulder and him not moving an inch. The others from the gang start teasing him about it but he still doesn't move at all.

-Your y2k style goes so well with his style! I can picture it so well. You two are officially the the cool ones out of the group and no one can tell otherwise. Also, Mista can't help but stare at you at how pretty you are. He'll either brush it off or joke about it somehow so you don't get suspicious (just like he did with Fugo and Trish in the car scene).

- Hit the gym with him or play video games with him, it's going to be the highlight of his day. Mista might find the gym a bit boring but if you come along? It changes everything. He hypes you up again so it's fun but in the same time, you both get the benefits of training. He will never admit that he's not that good with video games so you'll get to see him pout and look away. However, he uses this to get a crumb of your affection, he's smart.

- Gift giving and physical touch go very well with Mista, it's exactly what he didn't get in the past and secretly craves now. He is very flustered if you decide to randomly get him a gift. He's going to be so touched. Regarding physical touch, he simply likes it but more because it's coming from you and he can feel how most of your touches have a deeper meaning. However don't expect him to receive this kind of love and do nothing in return. His love language is acts of service and words of affirmation. He's there for you if you ever need anything or if you need to get something done. Mista will do anything without exception. He doesn't do that to everyone, just for the ones dear to him, so you understand that it's his way of saying how much he appreciates you. Words of affirmation? It's expected. Even if he seems laid back, Mista doesn't avoid saying things the way they are, especially when it comes to his appreciation.

Boop! Oh that's a really fun yet difficult question to answer!

1. I think basically all of the episode "Elsewhere and Elsewhen" is my favourite. She's so wonderfully autistic and relatable <3 Look at her, I will cry. I love her so much :) Bespectacled S2 Lilith is the best (⁠◕⁠ᴗ⁠◕⁠✿⁠)

2. This is kind of similar to the above but again it's the delightful autism, and the recovering from the coven. Her getting to just do the things she enjoys again and to be herself, I just afgfgdf. Goodbye to the perfectionistic self that she had to be in the coven - she needed the coven for a time but she's so much better of now :) look at this little nerd watching the ink dry. (I'm normal about this.)

Her whole friendship with Hooty is also literally the best thing ever. I used to have a friendship that was pretty much exactly that and I really needed to mention how much I love that. I love Hooty and Lilith both and their friendship is just the greatest <3 Best canon ace rep I've ever seen. However that's not what I'm going to pick for my third thing. Because that's this:

The way her voice cracks, the hype... oh you dysfunctional traumatised queen. "I'M A GOD'S AUNT! \⁠(⁠๑⁠╹⁠◡⁠╹⁠๑⁠)⁠ﾉ" Yes, King & Steve are right, she might benefit from working on this, and also it's not good for King. But I loved that we got to see this. It's a thing that makes so much sense, both from an invisible autistic child standpoint and the standpoint of dealing with that in an autistic way. To me it feels cathartic to witness the unconscious coping mechanisms she developed over the years coming out, and it's so cool that the show then let's her grow from it. (This ask has me yet again going full "hold on, I need a moment" about how right The Owl House got this. They did this so well, I've definitely got feelings about this.)

Anyway I could pick more moments and write a whole essay on her (and I'm sad she didn't get more lines in S3) but I've picked this by trying to just go with the first thing that came up. I just think she's neat :D

8. sabikui bisco (2022)

if it werent for the positively nonsensical jump in the middle of the show and the way theres just like. a lot of gaps? it’d rank higher. it’s a very cool premise for a show and i like the bisco/milo dynamic, and [SISTER] is fun as hell. it didnt wow me though overall, and while i enjoyed it i was hoping for more.

7. trigun stampede (2023)

im sorry trigun stans i simply didnt love it. i see the appeal i really do but it just didnt hook me. i really liked the animation and the storyline. im intrigued by whatever the fuck is going on with those plants and yall have said theres a tallgirl in the next season? so i’ll keep watching. i just didnt love it

6. that time i got reincarnated as a slime (2019-2021)

in contrast to #7, i can see why this show is weak HOWEVER i just enjoyed it. i like it. huge fan of how much gender the protag has. i love how they get new powers. i enjoy that it can be interpreted as an extremely bisexual show. it was well paced and the slime diaries OVA was a great addition. a lot of the characters really stuck with me too and its like. idk. one of my favourite isekais i guess

5. buddy daddies (2023)

this should rank higher. its so fun. its SO fun. its silly and it doesnt take itself seriously. i laughed in every episode. the dynamic between the guys is great. the dynamics between them and the kid is great. just a really solid show if you can stand the queerbaiting. i dont even care

4. bocchi the rock! (2022)

the bocchi side of tumblr is right this show rules. i like how real bocchi’s social anxiety feels (literally how it felt when i had it). the characters are entertaining, the show’s well done, they even have solid music (which band-based shows dont always do right!). its really funny and its really earnest and its a joy to watch

3. demon slayer: swordsmith village arc (2023)

i included the entertainment district arc in last year’s list so this arc makes the cut. im always late getting around to watch the new stuff and i dont want to read the manga but god DAMN does this show hit different. incredible fight scenes. i loved everything they did for the hashira backstories. i love whatever the fuck is up with genya. it even gave me some akaza to sustain me for the next year or whatever. ik this show gets overhyped but its normal hyped. to me.

2. frieren: beyond journey's end (2023)

oughhh frieren… ive only known this show for a few months but it means to much to me… i dont even wanna talk about it because its so good i just wanna watch it again. go watch frieren if you havent already its anime of the decade. to me

1. gundam: the witch from mercury (2022-2023)

ive never seen a gundam before but i will be watched them after this! what can be said about it that hasnt already been said on this site. the romance storyline is impeccable, the fights are awesome, the moral questions it posed were excellently covered. by the end of the first episode i was speechless. by the end of the last episode i'd cried like 4 times over the course of the show. this thing made me cry to happy birthday. what the fuck

Wait whats your opinion on Pokemon the First Movie and its remake Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution

LOVE the first movie, hate the remake lol. I know people get on it for being a little basic or whatever but idc, it's a really fun time and it's what got me so attached to the mew duo. i think it's by far the most charming pokemon movie because despite what ppl say considering the "entitlement" from the "the first movie" title, it really feels like they put in a lot of effort to make this movie feel like a huge deal. the cinematography (mewtwo in the lab and when its directing the storm) are genuinely really cool and the battles are stunning. it all comes together really well and you also see this in the show itself since they were hyping it up, which isn't something the show ever really tried doing again. It makes the movie feel big and important. Mewtwo's conflict is great and Mew itself is adorable and AUGH it's a great movie and idc what people say.

I despise that remake though. At first I just kinda didn't care for it, but as time goes on I'm actually more insulted at its existence. Instead of a new movie we gotta do nostalgia bait with a movie that's trying to be a remake but bastardizes the presentation so much. I actually can't believe people were making twitter comparisons on "how far technology has come" by comparing the shot for shot remakes, the new film looks hideous when it copies the original directly thanks to the awful character models that don't match the realistic backgrounds, and when it tries to do its own thing, it completely fails to understand what made the original scenes so impactful.

The scenes I mentioned with Mewtwo directing the storm and destroying the lab are such good examples. I can't really find isolated clips unfortunately so bear with me. In the original lab scene, there's a sense of claustrophobia. The scientists stand over Mewtwo in the shot, their faces in darkness as they explain Mewtwo's supposed purpose. In fact, its all dark, its hard to make out the surroundings all the way. There are tubes and lab equipment everywhere surrounding Mewtwo. We get a ton of close up shots where Mewtwo is cramped in the shot- it's kinda basic but it's effective- Mewtwo has just been born but it's essentially a prisoner and it's suffocated by the expectations and purpose forced onto it by Dr. Fuji and his team. When Mewtwo then breaks out, the shot has zoomed out, but he's still surrounded by smoke and such when Giovanni arrives- he's still trapped. Like, there's a point to it all. There's intent in these shots.

In the remake tho we can't have poor lighting because how will we show off our REALISTIC BACKGROUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111!!!1! so they removed all the clutter and the lab is all bright so we can see the (ugly) human models bc ohhhhhhhhh technology has come soooo far we swear. so now the claustrophobia so integral to the original scene is gone. I guess you could say the bright light is disorienting for mewtwo??? but it completely fails to match the tone of the original.

There's no reason to watch the new one imo. It's just an inferior version to the original movie to the point it honestly feels insulting to me. It's such a blatant cash grab and idk how ppl dont see that.
