The Jungle Temple: The first attempts with redstone. ZIT learned a lot and got sentimental to keep them there. Skizz forgot everything.

As Impy is a dragon, so they made the strongholds to ensure that he can go home whenever he wants. (I’ve heard that he doesn’t like horns, heard that he changed his mind, he said it’s fine but the way he said it sounded like he minds— no straight answers, haven’t found proof of any of this: so I’m just assuming that he’s like Tango and doesn’t like being associated with demon regalia, so dragon instead, still horns and parts but more cooler!)

Zedaph made the underwater monument because he wanted to see if he could. Tango and Impulse worked together on the guardians, the literal, and this is canon to Minecraft, robots. Skizz was happy to be Zed’s lab rat. Especially as he can be sure that Tango doesn’t attempt to go in water. (They later made Tango basically immune to water, but not during that period)

And no, no one is sure how Tango is… still alive. Blazes don’t live forever. In fact, they have short life spans, that transfers over to the hybrids- but he’s still here! Skizz and Impulse, the immortal beings, don’t mention it as they are afraid that if they say something, it’ll magically correct itself and he falls over dead like a Cartoon.

Zed is still here because there isn’t thing he hadn’t experimented with. And his main thing to experiment on is himself. So, they just agree that Death is afraid of him. That or he altered his DNA so much that he made himself immortal. The Goat/Sheep thing- He was originally a white goat, now he’s at least partly a pink sheep now- and no he didn’t use dyes to dye himself once he was sheep no- he’s terrifying. And no, Zed did not make Tango immortal. Mr. Tek let’s Zed do so much to him but definitely not enough to accomplish what Zed did to himself.

Circe's Potion

So no one is going to talk about how Circe's "potion" is not really a potion at all (like just a liquid) but that it was practically a type of broth? No? Then I guess that I have to do it so you can make it at home hahahaha and enchant all your guests or maybe make them fear you! Hahahhahahaha your choice!

And then she mixed cheese and barley and golden honey and stirred them with Pramnian wine.

So her potion is not really a pure drink but a broth! A salt-sweet broth given the ingredients. The name of the drink or rather the notion of it seems to be also appearing in the Iliad as a healing potion given to Machaon (and ironically is yet another time a female character to make it). The name seems to be Κυκεών / Kykeon which simply translates as "potion" from the verb κυκάω which means "to stir"

The honey is mentioned as χλωρό that also means "greenish" of color or greenish gold. If you are like Circe may I suggest wild flower honey or eucalyptus honey or potentially herbal honey such as thyme or bush honey. Plants typically found in the wilderness and also known for their healing properties.

Barley if raw might need some preparation to be soft enough to be consumed unless you do not mind some crunchiness XD otherwise it can be boiled or turned to dust beforehand I guess! If you have a mortar or a blender!

For cheese I would suggest white cheese as it would be more common in antiquity. Goat cheese is preferable hahaha! Just probably not too salty!

Both main ingredients (barley and wine) are associated with gods that have to do with life and death Demeter and Dionysus

As a result this type of drinks were associated with Eleusinian Mysteries

Which consequently I find very interesting given how Odysseus drinks this and then descends to the underworld! Odysseus is basically doing LITERALLY the Eleusinian mysteries!

In fact the whole thing seems to be somehow related to the travel on the underworld. Odysseus meets Hermes who assists him through (Hermes who passes the dead in the underworld) he drinks a potion related to Eleusinian Mysteries he travels to the Underworld and he comes back!

Pramnian wine was probably made of resin grapes (although the actual making process is mostly unknown) therefore it was very thick and heavy to drink without watering or preparing and ancient writers thought it was reserved for its healing properties

Maybe this is why the Greeks drank her potion! Maybe they thought she wanted to heal them! Oh Circe you are good!

So basically Circe's potion is yet another example of the word φάρμακον which in ancient Greek meant both "medicine" and "poison" Hahahaha! And speaking on "poison" see this HILARIOUS artist make it! And the rather encouraging reaction when he tries it! XD

Poor boy and rich girl trope

There's a popular het romance trope in our regional cinema culture ....poor but hardworking and sincere boy falls in love with a rich girl(depending on the story,she is either very haughty, or extremely kind and generous , we'll go with the latter)...the boy marries the girl and sordidly pleads her to make amends with his humble little home,as the girl is accustomed to luxury, the boy is concerned for her comforts. The girl, being a kind lady and hopelessly in love with the boy coyly accepts his proposal.

The conversation goes something like

"I can't offer you much luxuries, would you still to accompany me?"

"with you, I would even go half-hungry"(pardon my awkward translation) XD

This scene is hilariously reminds me of CXS telling LG how he can't give much to LG, and LG not batting an eye to it(while it's hinted he comes from a rich household). Trust me it's way hilarious as a Bengali because of how much it's reminiscent of this specific trope.

Living in your In-laws house

In Bengali culture, we live with our family. Therefore, after marriage, one spouse leaves their home to live with their spouse and in-laws(that one mostly being the wife). And guess who leaves his home to live with his bestie?(I'm not trying to enforce gender roles on them it's just funny)

I haven't done this in quite some time, but I'll be giving some more TL comparisons between the original JP release and the localization, because an anon from Retrospring shared some tidbits from Madarame's route.

Because they have also explained what nuance got lost, briefly or otherwise, I won't do what I did in my previous posts (compare with MTL) just basically compile each translation discrepancy in a subsequent order, and add their notes in each one.

Towa: "You were always like this. Are you satisfied now that you've ruined my life?" 「あんたは昔からそうだ。引っ掻き回して満足か？」　-> ["You have always been like this. Are you satisfied with the violent chaos you caused?"] NOTE: 引っ掻き回して appears to be an idiom meaning to "disrupt order through violence."

Madarame: "To hang out with friends." 「うろついてる連中と遊ぶんだよ」​ -> ["I'm going to play around with the people hanging around."] NOTE: Madarame has nobody he'd call a friend so the English line seems so out of place that it was easy to notice.

Madarame: "We had a lot more fights after that. Sometimes we came close to killing each other for real. But he still didn't back down." 「それからも喧嘩して、半殺しにしてやった時もあった。だが、アイツはそれでも向かってきた」 -> ["We'd fight from then on, and there was a time I beaten him half to death. However he'd still come at me."] NOTE: Well, someone was envious of Madarame's absolute power. LMAO

Madarame: "Stoop to an idiot's level and he'll beat you with experience, you know. Then after that..." 「馬鹿の相手をしても時間の無駄だからな。そうしたら……」 -> ["Because it's a waste of time to deal with idiots. Afterwards......"] NOTE: The English line is some dumb phrase I've seen on the internet. I get the feeling that the phrase was used against the person who put it there. XD

Towa: "...If I was a chick, I'd have ditched you by now." 「……俺が女なら腰が砕��てるところだ」 -> ["If I was a woman then my knees would have given way.] NOTE 1: 腰が砕けてる seems to be an idiom, it could mean like what it literally says, or to collapse/give up/lose one's nerve/to have one's knee's give way. NOTE 2: Wouldn't be surprised if the people who changed it hated Madarame (that's the impression I get), I just find that hilarious that they'd probably be seething and crying over a fictional character. Madarame ain't real, but he is already giving real people slow damage. LMAO.

I have to say though, it's rather obvious that while the one behind the localization seemed to dislike almost everyone with how their dialogues got butchered, Madarame's route really takes the cake, or whatever is the most unpleasant dish you can think of, in this case.

A JP-fluent of mine also mentioned how Madarame's route got the worst of the questionable translation choices, saying that Madarame's speech doesn't really have him cuss or talk that crassly. And it didn't surprise me that the H-scenes were done poorly, almost deliberately, even.

Now, this was what I replied to that very last statement OP had made, which I felt I should also share here... Even with a proper translation, I can easily see Madarame being divisive among fans either way.

He's meant to be something of an antagonist (not a villain) and while there's an intended goal in his route, said route still isn't exactly the easiest to swallow. Even so, a translator letting their bias affect their translation is already one giant misstep.
