CW: discussion of self harm, brief description of a small self harm incident, non-recovery/relapse, addiction mention (I'm just complaining abt my experience with sh being a symptom of my autoimmune disorder)

I think for me, the most frustrating part of having my self-harm be a symptom of my autoimmune disorder is that I have no control over it. Whether I want to get better or not doesn't matter, because my immune system is the one calling the shots here. No matter how long I go without it, how much I think I'm in the clear, I will eventually get sick and I'll relapse again and there's nothing I can do about it. Like I've gotten strep multiple times a year, every year, as long as I've been alive. And I don't see myself suddenly not doing that- if anything it's gotten WORSE as the years have gone on. So I'm just stuck listening to my immune system tell me to hurt myself in perpetuity.

I want to be abundantly clear here when I say that my self-harm is a symptom, I don't mean that I self-harm because of my symptoms, or in response to my disorder. I certainly have, but that is a separate issue. I mean that the urges themselves ARE the symptom. When I get sick or have a flare of my disorder, I get uncontrollable urges to self-harm that aren't triggered by anything except the fact that, as far as we know, my immune system can't tell my brain from an infection. I can literally be doing nothing, feeling great, and then I will suddenly be overcome by the Need to hurt myself.

And I can tell you the exact moment I first did it, because it was so fucking out of the blue. I was literally sitting in English class, having a normal ass day, and was suddenly so overcome with the need to hurt myself that I sharpened a pencil way beyond reason and scratched myself through the holes in my jeans until it bled. Multiple times. Yes, I was dealing with a lot of mental illness bullshit at the time, but I'd never really considered cutting myself. The furthest my "self injury" had gone before this was hitting myself while I was having autistic meltdowns and my relatively mild dermatilomania (and one instance of trying to "cut" myself with years-old safety scissors which obviously did not work, but I have Strong reason to believe that too was being caused by my autoimmune disorder). And I Still hadn't considered it, not really, my brain just Did It and before I realized what I was doing or why I was doing it, the urges were so bad I couldn't help myself anymore and I just did it.

By this point it's gone well beyond just a symptom of my autoimmune disorder and it IS also a separate issue bordering on an addiction, I can't lie abt that. But that doesn't change the fact that at the end of the day, even if I can curb it as its own standalone problem, it will Still be there. Unavoidable. I mean I was mostly clean for almost 5 years (there was a solid handful of incidents, but it wasn't really a Problem yknow? Like it wasn't all that much different from my self-injurious stims/autistic meltdowns), and completely clean for a year. And I know a year isn't a supremely long time in the grand scheme of things, but I really thought I was finally done with it. Until I got strep again last August. I've been spiralling ever since, and there's nothing I can do about it because I keep getting sick. Because my immune system is literally making me sick.

So why would I bother with trying to recover? I will inevitably "fail" because it's not in my control and never has been, and I'll end up doing something even more dangerous because "well I've already failed now, so why stop here?" If I can't control my symptoms I might as well control how I engage with them, and unfortunately for me, part of that is probably learning how to be safe and go about my life while cutting myself. I don't know. It's just frustrating because I want to get better to some degree, of course I do. It's not exactly a Fun thing to be dealing with if I'm being honest. But I just don't have that option.

listen to me and listen well. i'm gonna analyze the caitvi breakup scene conflict in detail (and tell y'all why caitlyn is not the villain y'all paint her out to be)

first of all, caitlyn has every reason in the world to hate jinx and want her gone. there are more neutral reasons like the fact caitlyn is a police officer and jinx is a threat to piltover and zaun's law and order, any material property she can reach and basically everyone around her bcuz she's insane, unstable and more than capable of causing damage. then there are deeply personal reasons: jinx tried to blow up caitlyn and vi on multiple occasions, kidnapped caitlyn (god knows what she did to her before vi joined the tea party, but other fans have pointed out cait was so traumatized she went from not exhibiting any fear of jinx before to shuddering when seeing her after), tried to get vi to kill caitlyn, killed her "father" silco on accident, blew up the council, killing caitlyn's literal mother among others and causing injuries and damages. caitlyn at this point might even believe jinx is the one who organized the massacre at the statue reveal ceremony. she even acknowledges how easily jinx's actions and the trauma they've caused her have undone a lot of the work caitlyn has put with the help of vi by her side into seeing zaunites as people despite the way she was raised. all of her anger at jinx for this, for taking her mother, for all the pain she's caused, even her fear make caitlyn desparate. she starts taking more drastic measures in order to catch jinx like using more violence/threats towards innocents, which is the one thing vi tries to address with her. caitlyn promises she won't change. but she already has, as an unconscious and natural reaction to what she's experienced.

earlier, caitlyn doesn't offer vi the police badge just bcuz she's mentally stripped vi's zaunite identity from her and now sees her as a topsider and one of "the good ones" (i bet she's started to do that too, as alluded to by maddie's words abt caitlyn saying vi went after silco alone, but caitlyn does this just so she can compartmentalize better and separate her lover vi here next to her, from her mother's killer jinx who's taken so much from her in zaun), but also bcuz she needs vi's help to get through zaun and find jinx. as she's just lost someone, she badly wants to be able to keep vi close, on her squad, in her line of sight, in order to protect her and make sure nothing happens to her on the potentially deadly task of finding and eliminating jinx. (i want to add smth else here: notice how vi feels guilt for failing to keep others safe and feels responsible for protecting the people around her, so she tries to distance herself from them, like not letting powder go with the big kids, and fights short range, keeping enemies close to her and away from her allies so they can't get hurt. caitlyn does the opposite, she's a long range sharpshooter so she tries to keeps her loved ones as close to her as possible under her watchful gaze, far from her enemies.) it's never implied she wants vi to be a cop forever, or perform any such duties outside of this jinx mission. she's still at fault for not understanding what putting on the uniform would mean to vi - a betrayal of her family, her home, everything she's ever known and loved until now, which vi isn't ready for and caitlyn can't rightfully ask of her. yet vi doesn't say that to caitlyn (and continues to not say anything when their squad of misfits starts gassing up the undercity) and takes it because she sees no other way. she knows her chances alone against jinx aren't looking good.

vi can't bring herself to kill her sister (despite the fact that she's mostly gone, incredibly dangerous, unstable and could've easily killed vi and caitlyn - even accidentally, like she killed silco) and doesn't want her to die either. we can even look at what caitlyn thinks needs to be done with jinx and what vi thinks needs to be done with jinx as a cultural difference betw the two bcuz in zaun where survival is essential, family is everything, you're bound together by what you've been through and you need each other to survive so you don't just cut family off, you don't judge them harshly, leave them or turn them in, but in piltover where that's not the case, there are laws and people who serve to enforce them like caitlyn so if you're a bad person who's done bad things, there's a way for you to be dealt with. vi doesn't realize she wouldn't be able to kill jinx or let herself feel that way bcuz of the amount of guilt she harbors for "creating jinx" and the responsibility she carries for jinx's actions (smth she internalized bcuz of vander teaching her that as a leader she's responsible for whoever chooses to follow her) - again, jinx stealing the hexcore, kidnapping/torturing cait, almost killing the two of them, blowing up the council, etc. so she offers to deal with jinx herself, which caitlyn doesn't want, knowing first hand what jinx is capable of and maybe even suspecting vi's weakness before vi can - caitlyn even says that she's scared that if either of them goes after jinx alone, she'll return in a box. and instead of listening to her own feelings and telling caitlyn about them, vi again decides to "toughen it out" and pull through with it. she tries to seem stronger, more ready and certain when she tells caitlyn to take the shot, but her fear of being faced with having to kill jinx becomes even more evident in the fact she basically indirectly asks caitlyn to do it for her so she doesn't have to.

when the fight breaks out, the danger is very real. sevika can take caitlyn down easily as she's a long range shooter, not a close combat fighter. while cait's fighting tooth and nail, jinx and vi are dancing around each other the way teen girls fight compared to other fights they've had (jinx hitting with her wrists, vi stumbling, etc). they're not fighting to the death bcuz they don't want the other to die. when vi finally pins jinx, who's seemed quite normal until now btw, as if she's finally in her right mind (like smth in that mind can be salvaged), vi notably hesitates. a lot. and before she does anything or moves so caitlyn can shoot, isha jumps between vi and jinx with a gun to vi's head. and here's where i need y'all to be fucking for real. the fear and anger caitlyn must've experienced in that moment are what made her completely lose it, i bet she fully had an out of body experience. now, caitlyn isn't a great shot, she's an excellent shot. if she shoots the gun out of this kid's hand, she saves vi from her brains being blown out of her head. if she misses, worst case scenario, she takes this kid's hand out. she takes the fucking shot to save vi's life, a calculated risk even if she does it rather on reflex. we even see how the bullet flies way closer to vi than to the kid because she's self correcting potential aim errors away from the kid.

now that the kid isn't pointing a weapon in vi's face anymore, instead of pulling the kid from jinx and hauling ass so caitlyn can shoot again safely (see: bcuz she doesn't want jinx to die), vi stands up and starts telling caitlyn not to shoot, even getting in front of her. caitlyn is verbally but not really mentally responsive to her surroundings in this moment, that's how gone she is. her vision tunnels onto jinx and she tries to keep shooting until sevika pulls the lever and we exit combat. vi reasonably confronts caitlyn for shooting at a kid (after caitlyn stops hitting the wall like a woman gone), which she only does because of her fear for vi and fear of jinx (and what she might do next, or if they let her get away) because she feels betrayed, since caitlyn just told her she wouldn't change. she did changed - she became more brutal, but she'd already changed long ago, when she lost her courage, her mother, her progress and when she came to love vi.

and now it's caitlyn's turn to confront vi. vi didn't have the guts to tell her she can't kill jinx, that she can't wear the uniform, that she's not okay with gassing zaun up, and even encouraged her to shoot, so cait was under the impression that this was it. that they were going to end jinx for good. when she says "i thought you were different but you're not", of course she might mean she thought vi was "better" than other zaunites, but i think perhaps even more than that, she means she thought vi had also been changed in the same way by the trauma jinx had caused caitlyn, that she'd finally let go of her hope powder was still somewhere inside jinx and realized how truly destructive and dangerous jinx is and how that necessitates killing her. while vi is immunized against the terrors, caitlyn has never experienced anything like this in her life, which is why she doesn't understand why vi doesn't understand, why she wants jinx to live despite everything.

while vi doesn't seem to understand, she's ready to try to. she's let her guard (and gauntlets) down, she's open and attempting to talk to caitlyn who has shut off completely and refuses to even look her in the eyes (which is one of the primary ways in which caitlyn connects to people). vi tries to stop her from leaving and caitlyn strikes her, as hard as she can, purposefully hitting her in her stab wound which she helped vi recover from herself - almost as if condemning their past relationship and everything they've been through. not only does that physically bring vi, someone used to taking hits, to her knees - it completely incapacitates her and breaks her heart. she can't even follow. she's officially lost the last good thing she had, the one person who cared about her.

both of them are left feeling betrayed and hurt. some of these conflicts could've been avoided by simple communication, others were by design of who they are and where they come from.

Okay, this is random as hell but I just thought of a weird au where Tim, after failing to get an adult to help with Batman and his increasingly violent methods of grieving, resorts to trying magic. Cue Tim attempting to revive Jason using necromancy so that Bruce will finally calm down because, he's like this because he lost Jason, so surely bringing Jason back will fix things, right? So yeah, he tries necromancy, maybe tries using one of the artifacts that his parents brought home from a dig cuz it's cursed or smth, but ultimately "fail" for whatever reason.

Tim, now at his wits end and finding no other solution to the problem, becomes Robin just like in canon. Expect, the magic did work, it was just delayed. Cue the whole "Jason digging out of his grave, getting snatched by Talia, and trained in the LoA" thing.

Idk how the rest of the AU would unfold since I thought of this in the middle of doing stretches and I forgot the rest of the concept bcuz I decided to finish stretching before sending an ask, but I do have a very vague mental image of Tim, after being attacked by Jason in the tower, right before he goes unconscious, just muttering a soft "It worked, it actually worked, I brought him back" and Jason hearing this and having a mental breakdown about trying to understand what the heck Tim was taking about and re-evaluating everything he currently knows about Tim.

"equivalent exchange" by scribblemetimbers I can not recommend enough. It's about Tim making a deal with a demon (similar setup to Supernatural's demons) where they bring back Jason Todd in exchange for Tim's soul. This is set at the beginning of Tim's Robin run. He believes that, because Dick and Bruce appear to not want him, that Tim won't be like other pact holders who try to escape their end of the bargain (which leads to Constantine needing to get involved to clean up the collateral). Lots of angst and the ending is so fucking good. I can't wait for the sequel.

I can't remember the name, but there's a fic where Tim sets up cloning pods and magic in his house to try to "revive" Jason.

There's also one where Tim makes a deal with a creature, but ends up not having to pay his end when Jason crawls out of his grave before the creature manages to revive him.

However, I like your AU for how it makes Jason instantly realize the sacrifices Tim enacted to bring Jason back (and let that man have complicated feelings about that). The real angsty part is Jason finding out about what Tim has done after Jason has already hurt the kid :(

Anyways, this cues Jason feeling conflicted when it comes to Tim. The older one feels that he came back *wrong* and kind of wants to blame Tim for that. Yet, he is just a kid. Yet, him being a kid wasn't enough of an excuse to stop Jason from beating him up.

Then, did Tim bring Jason back as a dedication of love towards Jason or for Bruce? Does Tim even care that it's Jason that's returned, or does it matter more that the role of Bruce's dead son came back to life?

any Tsukasa headcanons? I feel like everyone sees him as this demon monster who has no personality aside from murder :/

Tsukasa is an interesting character for me because he’s actually my favorite Yugi twin but I hate when ppl try to justify his actions…however some people go the opposite way and treat him like he’s a heartless villain with no depth so I end up defending him. Ppl get weirdly ableist abt it too it’s crazy. Tsukasa Yugi they could never make me hate you.

Now onto the headcanons

• I’m a firm believer that Tsukasa is adhd coded (I have adhd and I recognize my own kind)

• Specifically bcuz of the scene where child Amane said smth to Nene abt how Tsukasa would lose it if they didn’t play his favorite game at the festival, and due to the way he acts in movie theaters

• There’s room for debate over whether or not it can be called “coding” but you’ll never convince me that boy was intended to be neurotypical (autistic Tsukasa truthers are also valid)

• Since Sakura compares him to a cat I like to imagine he gets really clingy and cuddly with ppl for like 30 mins and then flips a switch and tries to bite them like cats do

• From “somebody hug me rn” to “touch me and I’ll kill you” within the span of a few minutes

• He takes a very “when I’m bored but then I remember I have a sibling” approach to bonding with Hanako. If the Broadcasting Crew and Mitsuba aren’t interesting him, he’ll pop over to Hanako’s bathroom and annoy him

• Not the kind of torment we see in the series though, he’ll just make annoying noises or keep asking Hanako to play games with him

• He likes animals but he’s terrible with them. Too aggressive, think of those poor fish

• I’m an aroace Tsukasa intellectual. I cannot see him caring abt romance beyond mild curiosity and his perverted behavior in the series seems to just be to mess with people/get reactions out of them as he’s known to enjoy doing (as opposed to Hanako’s pervert behavior which is pretty genuine, albeit comedic)

• His favorite subject in school was geography

• He doesn’t genuinely like many people besides Amane. He has a soft spot for Sakura and Natsuhiko though

• He’s very creative and likes to invent things. In another life he’d kill it on Shark Tank

• Because of this he really enjoys cooking! He’s surprisingly good at it when he’s not just making the most appalling thing he can think of

okay so

at first when you say you want to do a horror movie marathon with him, he's hesitant

yeah, human world horror might seem a bit lackluster for a demon, especially ones centered around possession or summoning- they might even see some as comedies if the execution was done poorly

but possession hits a bit too close to home for mammon, and he's never been a big fan of horror in general

you see him hesitate and before he has the chance to hide his feelings and force himself to agree, you give him an out

"hey, we don't have to if you don't want to... I just thought it might be fun since Halloween is coming up and it's a fun way to get into the spirit of it all. I won't force you, my love."

and he almost takes it.

but then he thinks about how you were probably really missing out on human world holiday traditions... and he sees the bit of disappointment you're trying (and succeeding for the most part- if he didn't know you as well as he did you would have fooled him) to hide

so with a deep breath, he sucks it up and shakes his head. "no, it's okay. we can totally do that! pick a time and place and we'll binge as many as ya want."

your eyes light up and you grin. "really?! thank you so much, mammon! I promise we'll start off with some easier ones and work our way up! I'll go make a list."

he doesn't regret his decision one bit and appreciates that you're being considerate of his feelings

until he realizes that your definition of "easy" horror movies didn't exactly align with his.

the first movie on the list was not "easy" at all, and at first he thought you were pulling his leg a bit

until he saw that you looked almost bored whenever there was a jump scare

it was almost embarrassing that he was clutching the pillow as tight as he was, but you were so focused on the movie that you didn't notice.

you did make sure to periodically check on him in between scenes and during bathroom breaks, but he didn't want you to feel bad, so he put on a brave face that seemed to sway you

he somehow made it through the first movie, and the second, but by time you were on the third (still in the "easy" category, you had said), he felt mildly sick to his stomach

during the movies, you had actually laughed during a few of the scary scenes.

how were you so desensitized to the horror genre?!

he usually admired your bravery, but this was a whole other level.

this third movie had to do with a zombie apocalypse, and you teased him, saying it reminded you of that haunted house you both got trapped in forever ago.

he tried to laugh with you, but at that moment the main character came into contact with one of the zombies and he wasn't able to hold back his scream since his guard was down

suddenly he was hiding his face in your shoulder, and shivering in your arms

poor baby starts apologizing and shaking his head when you pause the movie to check on him

"mammon have you been trying not to let on you were scared this whole time?!"

he tries to deny it but you give him a stern look and he sighs, nodding, starting to shake less now that the initial shock had worn off

"I just wanted to make you happy! I know how much you must miss human world halloween traditions and I wanted to make it feel more normal for ya..."

- to dude, marnie was supposed to be nothing more than some1 he can sleep with whenever he is horny& can stay at&hang out with as a getaway for when the bitch is nagging him too hard where he needs a break&a person he can leech off booze&weed whenever he wants. marnie kept dude around bcuz of how chaotic he was, he brought a great deal of thrill into her boring life which consisted of nothing more than work&rotting at home on days off. idfk what happened between these to but yeah

- marnie is the 1 who took champ in after dude shot himself&was @ the hospital+the bitch left& after he got out looked after his bandages&stitches&made him stuff that he likes when got home&gave him meds when the aches were too much after the motherfucker shot himself bcuz marnie genuinely cares abt him. this is what prob solidified their whole relationship or smth

- i know i portray them as lovey dovey sometimes but reality is they r not that affectionate tbh. they r loners at heart&prefer to have their own space. they basically never cuddle in bed bcuz not only it is hot as balls in arizona but also bcuz they just like space. they do not kiss that often bcuz they like their space. there r times where they sleep separate or go on a full week if not more with barely talking to each other&it is not bcuz they are avoiding each other out of malice; they just like to have their own space&sometimes need a break from each other

- dude is the 1 who uses petnames as he is more playful out of the 2 w shit like babe and dear, the universal 1s but 1 unique petname for marnie that he has is doll .idk why but he just calls her doll as endearment sometimes. marnie does not really have any petnames for dude bcuz there r no nicknames for a motherfucker like him :/

- again dude is the one who is more witty and playful both in public&at home because he is the more outgoing out of the 2. marnie can sometimes be playful in return or even be the 1 who starts it 1st but only in private because that is where she feels most comfortable doing so

- giving both r pieces of shit their arguments r not as explosive actually. i always believed that in order to have dude blow up during an argument u would have to be feeding into the fire which is fighting back&pushing him over the edge; marnie does not do that. they do argue but marnie shuts the argument down&does not initiate any further b4 it reaches a breaking point bcuz not only she does not have the time to prove herself to dude, but also bcuz she does not need to. she knows her truth&there is no point in trying to prove what is right to a stubborn motherfucker. she does not care what he thinks it wrong or right, she knows her truth(whatever it is). this gives time dude to cool down bcuz there is nobody who is keeping the fire aflame to a point where he genuinely loses his shit. this is not to say that they have had not had violent arguments; they have. but they r rare bcuz of prev mentioned stuff

- they do not share clothes bcuz that is nasty. do u really think marnie would want to wear dudes gross ass unwashed shirts?

Alex has to fight with himself to keep a neutral face as he turns around, mindful not to let all his sickly sweet feelings translate into his expression. “What, will you want a kiss, too?” Alex retorts, pouring himself a glass of orange juice (Florida grown, the bottle proudly declares), his joints still stiff and not quite awake yet. Logan falls unusually quiet. He had been the one to start this whole interaction, and yet now he's freezing up. Alex chances a look at him, and finds Logan chewing the silky insides of his bottom lip, his eyes trained intensely on the juice and the way it sluices around the glass as Alex takes a calculated sip. There's a flush on his cheeks, and he finally forces his eyes away once he notices how purposeful Alex is being.

Hi' I think a few days/weeks ago u answered an ask abt cvtting over scars, and u mentioned that it was harder to keep heavily scarred areas clean. Do u have any advice for that, or is it just harder no matter what you do? And similarly, do u have advice for keeping areas that r cvt clean? Like I obviously don't want to b getting soap in my cvts/scabs when I'm showering but at this point I don't think I have fully/properly cleaned my thighs in like a year bcuz they've always got smth healing on them that I don't wanna get soap in, which is obviously not really good lmao.

And sorry if u don't wanna b giving advice/getting asks like this! U just seem very knowledgeable abt this stuff and searching online has only brought up "how to remove scars, nice clean smooth skin now" type shit lol. Absolutely feel free to ignore this if u want to or it makes u uncomfy /gen

So for cleaning highly scarred areas, you just basically have to be more diligent and careful. for my fully healed sc4rs, I lightly exfoliate and then wash with a soft, moisturizing soap after. then I moisturize the scars afterwards. I also put on a lot of sunscreen and try to keep them covered when the sun is out. highly scarred areas just pick up more dirt and grime cuz they are an uneven, oily, unpredictable surface with a bunch of dips and crevices for shit to get into. it's like one of my biggest annoyances with long term $H

for cleaning healing cvts, it gets complicated. for babies, styros, or fully scabbed beans I honestly would just wash my whole body in mild unscented soap (like dial) if you have a beans cvt that isn't fully scabbed, I would try my best to avoid getting soap in it, but it won't kill you. just be sure to rinse it well afterwards. then pat all ur cvts dry, possibly rinse with saline as well if if feel you need the extra security, and then put on some Neosporin. if it's beans and it's still open, only put on the edges of ur wound, not the inside. I would then cover them again if they're still open with nonstick bandages.

I know how annoying constantly having something healing is. if anything is deeper than beans, I honestly think you should try your best to get stitches and follow their aftercare instructions for that. I haven't healed anything deeper than beans since I started actually doing aftercare, and while I've healed things deeper than beans without medical help as a teen, I don't want to say how I did because it was irresponsible

also the products I specifically use for scar care are mostly from Lush, I use the Sticky Dates soap and the King of Skin for moisturizer. I don't have a specific scrub, I just get the cheap shit from Marshalls low-key.

for cvt aftercare I specifically use dial clear hypoallergenic, the same thing alot of ppl use with tattoo aftercare. honestly, if you don't hit deeper than styro, tattoo aftercare is pretty close to how you should take care of urself.
