#it's fucking frustrating as hell

it is not a buyout and it is incredibly frustrating the media has spun it as such. it is a scare tactic to get us to "resign" so he can obliterate the federal workforce bc he cannot just fire 75% of us like they want. they want to make the government appear inefficient so they can argue that it always was and then privatize everything for their own profit. they do not care about the average citizen. they do not know what it means to be a public servant and they have villainized us for simply doing our jobs for the taxpayers. they only care about deepening their pockets.

this last week and a half has been exhausting and terrifying. federal workers just want to do our job and help the people despite the constant villainization and utter hatred we receive from the general public.

I do not plan to give in and give them what they want, but I am miserable and utterly exhausted. while my closest friends try to show support, without working in government it is so hard to fully understand, especially going off of headlines.

the every day federal worker is not your enemy. most of us became public servants bc we love the work that we do. and we just want to do our jobs.

Helaena was such an irrelevant character in the book the show writers had to make her a dreamer to make her interesting but it flopped so hard because here's this girl who has foresight and knows most of the terrible things gonna happen and just...doesn't do anything about it. She's like oh my mother and grandfather will have my brother usurp the rightful named heir, force me to marry my abusive rapist brother, and my son will die? And I'll commit suicide??? Just wanted to make a post to say that I don't plan on being active in this fandom anymore.

I started posting in this fandom because I saw a problem, and I wanted to fix that. There was a severe underappreciation and negligence towards certain characters and aspects of the show which seemed unjust to leave untouched. I wanted people to full appreciate everything this show had offered and what it meant to me. I really wanted change.

However, as time went on, the more I stayed, the more I realised that was just wishful thinking. These days, I swear I'm just screaming at a brick wall. I'm trying petition for certain characters/AnB, and people simply do not care. Although I guess that was foolish on my part because I'm trying to change a group of people who are effectively incapable of it. Change is a good thing, and if that's something people in this fandom are unable to do, then I don't want to be part of it.

Hatred was a problem in this fandom when I came into the fandom, and it still is now. People taking things that other people put genuine time and passion into and using it in inappropriate ways that OBVIOUSLY don't sit right with the creators was a problem then and still is now. People destroying the love of this show for others was a problem then and is still a problem now. This fandom only caters to certain type of fans, and judging by the cycle, I really do not think it has the capacity to change.

I'll still answer Octonauts-related asks, and I might post a whim-of-the-moment thing when I feel like it, but I don't want to dedicate any more time and energy to this fandom because it's genuinely become joyless.

I'd prefer to just protect my peace.

Why do I feel like, The reason Helluva boss lacks world building and continuity is because the creators are focusing too much on the comedy part of the show and not the, well... Everything in the show...

Said by my Friend who critiqued the show before. I can kinda agree on that.

(I think a great example of it is, why the succubus go to Earth in the first place, and why does Asmodeus even want from Earth when the souls all eventually go to the pride ring ONLY (like why the fuck does he have crystal that allow access to the human realm, when he gets little to no benefits from it?????). Also btw the 'because they can and will' reason is not a good reason, it's a shitty excuse, because if that is an excuse, what is to say that sinners can try to go out the pride ring? Because they can? Then WHAT THE FUCK is the point of keeping all of them in the pride ring?????)

(Also a little gripe, it's me personally. But humans in this show are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too stupid, that it's fucking ridiculous how little to no brain power are made inside their minds...)

Helluva Boss lacks world-building because that’s not what the creators are interested in. I also think the creators expect their audience to have pre-established knowledge of Christianity and a shared irreverent perception of the religion, which is a huge oversight.

I presume that the reason Asmodeus enables incubi/succubi to go to Earth is because they require human lust and/or sexual fluids to live. As the Sin of LUST, Asmodeus’s job is to perpetuate overpowering sexual desire in humans that goes against the righteous path laid out by God. Part of that is sending succubi/incubi to prey on humans by encouraging sexual transgression, draining a human’s life-force, and impregnating them with hellspawn.

This promotes human suffering which is the reason why Hell and its inhabitants exist.

But like you said, humans are far removed from the other rings and Sins of Hell. They’re also completely inconsequential and stupid, existing only to die or precipitate shenanigans when the writers need them to.

(And on top of all that, Helluva Boss not only expects you to know all of that without telling you, but also expects you to throw out parts or all of that information when it benefits the direction they want characters and their relationships to go. Viv wanted the audience to root for Fizzarolli/Asmodeus, so she chucked out the very purpose of Asmodeus’s existence to make Asmodeus a good person. And a good person wouldn’t want others to suffer, would they?)

I never did catch back up with critical role campaign 3. So I threw some one again while doing some grinding.

And I was like man, this is so fucking good! Why did I stop? And then,

Player A has an incredible touching moment reminiscing about those they've lost but finding the strength to still fight and protect others

Player B, 30 seconds later while player A is asleep, hey what if I betray player A to advance my own power?

Oh right, that's why I stopped watching. They're still making stupid ass decisions 90 episodes later. Get it the fuck together, your supposted to be a team by now. Way to fucking kill the mood =/
