The K-Drama Of It All

Hello! My hyper fixation has (very unhealthily) latched onto this show so I'm gonna be analyzing.

First of all, I am a veteran in these spaces.

Very shy in real life I am an avid observer in all my fandoms but TRUST I know what's up at all times because of it.

This first analysis will be of the phenomenon of how they playing in my face with the classic K-Drama tropes and cinematic choices.

Let us begin.

Now we all agree that The Bear is a cinematic masterpiece right? Right.

I have been consuming media across all mediums since I was a kid.

I quite literally spent most of my life watching behind the scenes, in front of the scenes, and in between the scenes.

I'm also an aspiring filmmaker and screenwriter. As such I analyze stuff I like more.

I try to understand why they are the way they are.

Now that we got all the fluff out of the way let's get down to the nitty gritty.

In this this essay I will -!

Fr tho. Let's look at this from a K-Drama perspective.

I've spent about 10-12/13 years watching them. And luckily got into it during the golden era.

I literally watched She Was Pretty air (among others). Ex, Strong Woman, Descendants of the Sun (never watched; controversy+ bad attention span), School 2013.

So you know I'm (somewhat) of an og.

I'm those shows it's very formulaic.

This can extend to other Asian dramas but I'm going to try to stick to K-Dramas.

For example, the 10 ep rule. Must have a kiss or kiss in that episode. (Before is fine)

Now they're getting a little willy nilly and getting down in the first EP but I can argue they was down bad back then as well. Just more angsty longing looks.

(which tbf Sydcarm does all the time but it's 99% Carm though)

In KDramas there's something common in the cinematography that I'd call the halo of light. Almost all the time there are some form of beauty shots with them beautifully lit where they're together, the way they look at each other etc.

Which ironically they do with these two a lot on the show.

I know the show is gorgeous but you can't just explain away some of the choices.

I have watched and read a lot of discussions so this will be influenced by a lot of people. I will mention when I got the help from (if i can find it).

Now I just want to say I think this.

These following trope have been here since the dawn of K-Drama time.

Enjoy my infodump.

Firstly let's discuss this here:

1. The Meet Cute/Halo Effect

We've all been screaming to the void about the classic meet cute that happens with Carmy's life and him being constantly bombarded with noise and chaos.

Stylistically this wouldn't be a typical formula for K-Dramas as it leans more into Kmovie style (which valid The Bear was originally a movie) I think it's as textbook as it comes.

Now the original script (which I have read) had a story of different tone. Very Chicago and chaotic but still...

In this iteration of the script idk what the actors were on but JAW looked at the script and chemistry test and was like hmm yes.

A dramatic romcom. I see.

For her she's an ambitious woman who has (maybe a tiny crush) admiration for him cause like he's literally who she wants to be.

Young, talented and successful. He's made a name in their industry so of course she wants to work under him.

But he he's playing the male lead in an early K-Drama with the classic *she enters* and it's like the second coming out Christ being lit from behind her.

The classic 'I can't believe I never noticed how beautiful she is' in all dramas (and romcoms honestly).

You can also compare it to the corny slightly funny moments in slow motion when they miss each other/do the angsty look.

Like this.

Good old kdrama tropes.

What's interesting is that in their scene they do the opposite of what a K-Drama would usually do. They cut the music and let it become calm.

You get to breathe and relax and so does he. He feels at peace.

In K-Dramas, osts are a kind of a life line so they would most likely blare it when he has that realization.

And then at every other romantic moment after.

Another way that it could be is by using very like calm music (still the ost but still).

They do use this with having mostly romantic music in their scenes but it's usually quiet and a bit hard to hear or understand (unless you're analyzing like many of the wonderful people on this app).

Now you can argue her warm lighting in each scene from the finale and introduction represents his hope/life/good change being given back to him in the form of her (but if that's not the most romantic thing I ever heard).

Now for the flashback in the panic attack scene you could argue the blue tone he sees her in, as it usually represents some kind of sadness/distance/professionalism in this show, it can also represent his piercing blue eyes remembering her in the only shade they know how.

Good God that color grading is nuts. His eyes *ARE* the color Blue.

Now I want to talk a bit more about shot composition, color grading and color choices.

In a few interviews I've seen and read the editors, directors and others were quite serious about the shots and music they used were very much on purpose.

I mean come on.

The most telling scenes is the beginning of omlette and the end of the episode before it.

The director had chose to show her tattoo that represents loss in a deep blue lighting which was actually in a similar lighting that Carmy and Claire were bathed in afterwards.

The quora search says it means pain, heartbreak, and emotional turmoil.

It also lines up with the rest of the shots with him preparing dinner with Claire and her being alone.

I believe this kind of represents the emotional cheating (?) going on between them as he practically abandoned her (and their child, The Bear).

(which is a wild choice for platonic coworkers)

As I've said before blue lighting is usually representative of sadness, coldness etc.

In the scene personally even without connecting it to shipping or everything the message came clear to me.

Suffocation.

He was quite literally being suffocated as in the last scene her body was on his as he stared in the distance blankly.

Honestly that shot was kind of heartbreaking because it feels like coercion in a warped way.

He feels like he should be happy, he should participate in these acts, he should be doing well.

He's fulfilling his family's wish.

So why isn't he happy?

That's my writer kicking in but that's what I got from it.

But the same blue tone was used in his panic attack as the camera zoomed in.

Now the ironic part was that they used warm lighting for the scenes with Claire, but it's not that unusual.

Warm lighting has always been used to also represent a time period in the past in addition to good/warm times.

What's ironic is what's literally colored in what should represent good times isn't working.

He's remembering his family in those same tones. The past isn't helping.

But the future does.

Enter Sydney in blue.

Now blue usually represents sadness (or calm) but it's also used in futuristic scenes.

*They benefit from the cold clinical look i guess��🏾‍♀️*

Then he becomes calm.

I can also say that their kitchen scenes in early season 2 are blue coded but it has a calm feeling not a distant feeling. It ironically feel warm and calming despite the cool tone.

This appears in a couple other scenes in the show when he's showing her the work done in the early season.

But color wise it's usually warm tones with them as the color kind of transitions in that scene. It's half half.

His view is warm because he thinks she's good with what he did and hers is cold because he ditched her so yeah.

Now shot wise let's discuss because it's a bit obvious.

The staff head mentioned loving close ups to show the characters emotion but also to convey a sense of what's not being said.

An example of his uncertainty with Claire is the car scene. In most of his shots it's extremely close to her and gives off an awkward vibe.

But when you go to her perspective, she's more open and his shots show background and more of his character, also reflecting their relationship with each other,

This persists with the kitchen scene as well.

When I rewatch it it has that same quality. It's a bit more pulled out (obviously as they literally spent the night together so anyone would feel closer) but there's still an awkward/dreamlike feel like when its on her like she's not quite based in reality.

Or in Carmy's self sabotaging view, too good to be true.

In comparison to Sydney, the shots with her are almost always wide and open.

We see it with them as early in season one with the outside scene where he's staring her down and gets her to open up.

You can argue that almost all of their shots are as equals, or in the same frame with an openness that have/represents when they're communicating with each other. (I'm def writing about their communication)

Sydney's character is ironically what a male lead would be like and Carmy would be more of the female archetype.

Which I really appreciate now that I think about it.

The male lead is usually very successful/good at what they do, hesitant to share but when they do you feel it and know it's sincere. They're usually more bumbly with expressing when they're emotional but when they do its like a huge release. And when they love it's very obvious and excessive at times.

In comparison, Carmy is very expressive, sensitive and aware. He's devoted (Claire sorry but you don't quite count) to things he's passionate about, willing to communicate and has traits of sensitivity.

His eyes and body tells what he's feeling almost immediately. (Also JAW is just an incredible actor)

In Kdrama land their roles would be switched. Hell I can argue some American dramas as well.

Back on topic though.

The Halo Effect is there. Like all the time.

To my next point-

2. The She Looks Away, I Look At Her

Now you may argue this is very Disney Rapunzel, all that coded.

You will also be correct.

I am a Disney (more Nick honestly) kid.

This too applies to the K-Drama world nay I would say it originated there (it did not).

Do you know how many shows I can name where the male lead is just hopelessly in awe as he stared at the female lead because she just insulted him and he wants to tell her he loves her in every way.

Ring ring.

I heard The Bear calling. Yeah imma need you to clock out on this gaslighting.

Look at the gif sets!

But honestly, it's a common way to show that the character cares and wants a person without outright saying it.

You understand the vibes almost instantly.

He likes her. He wants more.

She likes him. She wants more.

3. Matching Clothes

This one is a simple one but we all know how common it is in K-Dramas to have a matching something.

A good example of a recent show is Extraordinary Attorney Woo, and how they almost always matched even if he was in casual clothing and she was in office clothes.

You're supposed to get a telepathy feel from them. Like they're on the same wavelength.

In ships/shows they usually subconsciously brainwash you into details of a relationship by having them wear or have something that reminds you of them.

In wardrobe, clothing is meticulously planned to match characters financial situation and express their personality. The clothes tell the story.

And the story usually is we go together. Real bad.

So yeah, sure in this scene/episode they were more in tune and tandem and as time went on they became more disjointed.

Granted they do work in a place with uniforms but I digress.

And lastly my third point part II-

Same But Different

If this were a kdrama there'd be like 0.00% chance that they WOULDN'T happen.

First they're the main leads so duh, and second the way that they parallel each other is insane.

There are many edits and examples of them directly mirroring each other in certain situations.

Scrubbing the floors when feeling lonely seemingly in the exact same spot, stressing in the freezer, saying stuff at the same time and their weird telepathy and answering each other's - sandwiches (that's what I was gonna say).

And if any of you say work wife I will rage cause let me catch my man laying under a table like that!!!

But for real, yes there's intimacy and friendship and all that but I ain't everr look at my friends of either gender like that.

If did I probably had feelings and just kept em in. And did the Carmy puppy eyes (TM).

And yes we are aware Carmy is emotionally constipated like a coke bottle filled with mentos with a tight cap on and his lack of a social life coupled with his (many) different mental illnesses/difficulties.

So he probably doesn't even recognize or even want to recognize them as such and honestly as a 4 lifer

I'm really sad but I don't think he'll confess in the next season.

I'm making a post about it but I'm also uncertain about it lasting more than three seasons as thematically and the way it was intended to be a movie I feel kind of uncertain.

It can extend to 4 but it was intended and the way it's narratively been flowing its exactly like a 3 act structure just spread out (like butter).

The next season is after the dark of night aka main character loses everything.

This season was fun and games - quite literally him having amusement and such. (Training Arc!!) It ended with his demise I'd say.

Now there's no where to go but up.

I'm not saying that it's impossible, but a 4th season would likely be more aimed toward getting a star or maintaining a star etc and family ties and such.

That'd be most likely when, if any, outwardly romantic contact should happen.

But they might surprise me.

Butt honestly in KDrama land there's no way the set up isn't romantic even if it was just a chef or professional focused show.

I'd say it'd be standard honestly for ones focused on career with a dash of romance.

Ex. Miss Hammurabi (best example)

The Good Doctor (Japanese Version)

There's probably more but I exclusively watch romance so 🤷🏾‍♀️.

In Conclusion,

Yes. They are end game.

I also wanna say how odd it is that this ship is attacked by fans of the show and non fans alike because I've literally grew up in the age of Rise of The Brave Tangled Guardians.

There's nothing more random than that time period.

They all dated each other!

Like my guy there's a Tony the Tiger x Grinch fic and don't even get me started on the Onceler selfcest as different flavors of himself (/j i love stuff like this)!

My point is it's not that unusual for the two leads to be shipped. Same gender or not.

I also have years of teenage brain rot developed from eating movies for breakfast so I know more than you! (/hj) I'm obviously right!

I will be discussing some more of this in length at a later date.

But I rest my case.

Hey there anon! Yah, it’s a massive AU/rewrite thing I have for the XY anime (and maybe games??) that I’ve been planning for a while now. The name is short for ‘beware of kalosian woods; lovely, dark and deep’ and it’s up on AO3 at currently idk 6 fics?? Which is super funny since so far I’ve managed to plan out 60 fics for it and the numbers are getting higher as I go on lol. Anyways, this all happened when I got inspired by a friend to rewrite some scenes of the anime and then welp, it snowballed into a project of massive proportions that should, if I’m motivated enough, keep me occupied for a year at least ^^’

I guess I should say some things about it since I’ve been rambling on for so long, huh? Well, in my watch of XY (and many future ruminations afterwards) I guess my biggest problem was that almost everyone but Ash and Greninja got their narrative presence and story potential whittled down to almost nothing (if not downright nothing) as the series went on. The start had promise but afterwards? Straight off the series itself I can’t tell you much about anyone in any real deep capacity (and the sad thing is that I do care about at least some of them, but they end up getting the shortest stick ever :/). So, in this rewrite I’m shaking things up and giving everyone opportunities to develop and grow, try out new things and new bonds, let the Pokémon play around with each other and their Trainers (Chespin my beloved, why did you never exist beyond the butt if the joke when you used to have a Reason for Being in your origin ep?? ;w;), all that jazz. Also including some game plots and characters (AZ should’ve been there and in my essay), more fleshed out Team Flare, maybe Southern Kalos??? Still thinking on that. More dramatic and honestly more cooler Kalos Crisis where we don’t just have two 50% Zygarde and then Zygarde Rock, changing up the way Showcases are done (letting them be their own thing seperate from Contests while also having that creative flare), more lore for that Bond Phenomenon, etc. Basically I’m going to have fun with the playground of Kalos lore/locations and letting any character that was a character have their time to shine, so if there are any backgrounders that you may have taken a shine to, there’s probably a chance that I’ve written them in this big thing heh.

(My second problem is the lack of Legendary Death Bird and Life Deer in the series that introduces them—wdym the only time I can see them is in one movie for 5 minutes? And don’t get me started on the cameo in the camp arc.

So naturally I’m going to have them play a role throughout the series as well, down to the Crisis itself. Can’t have Squishy have all the fun :3)

So, I’m not sure if I truly grasped what this project is about, tbf I’m still planning it out as I go since I’ve always been a pantser, but it’s something fun for me and I hope that more people will come to enjoy it too! A mix of every genre, some crack interspersed within the fluff and angst, Sycamore adopting way too many children while placing himself in a self-made love triangle, lore and deep connections, history and its effects, life and death and order.

And being the best version of yourself. That too.

PS I forgot to add, my tag is basically a really funny spoilers-no-spoilers compilation of posts that fit the vibe of the whole series. Like the posts just resonates with a certain part of the series and represents it and I thought that hey, might as well make a tag that would make no sense to anyone until the series is finished while also giving myself inspiration and motivation. I should probably make a side blog for the project but that’s if it gains enough traction I think, like an askblog or compilation thing. Anyways lmk if there’s anything unclear in my massive ramble or if you want to know something more/else, I’ve really enjoyed this ask if you can tell heh :D <33

Im so glad we all rightly clocked the Minecraft movie as probably going to suck and I'm not alone. I was so worried I was just being a pessimist but after seeing what other's have said and what moistcritickal posted (haven't watched it yet), I feel a bit safer sharing my opinion. So, as a mc fan and player for almost, if not exactly, 10 years, I'll give my opinion.

It wants to be the super Mario movie. It wants to be it SO BAD but it doesn't care to actually commit to it. So many awesome movies about gaming IP have come out over the last 5 years from the Mario movie and the fnaf movie to detective pikachu and sonic. All bangers. Idk what it is apparently about 2024 and letting the most sludgy shitty gaming movies being announced/coming out but this is... Not it. This and the borderlands movie (tbf I'm only repeating popular opinion as I haven't seen the movie and am not a fan of the franchise but mega and even casual fans plus it's horrific box office say it enough. ) are probably gonna end up the same.

It looks terrible. Period. Almost everything in it looks terrible and I garentee it's budget was 150 to 300 mil and it still looks like fucking garbage. It can't even commit to being a live action or animated movie. It wants to be both so bad and not lose the recognition of the 2 celebrities it dumped probably a quarter of the budget on. Everything from the mobs to the world design to the cgi already looks like fucking garbage. It looks so fucking bad y'all I'm not even exaggerating. Holy shit. Everything has that fuckin cursed style of realistic components but cartoonish attitude and shape. Everything in the trailer looks like jigglypuff or Mr. Mime from detective Pikachu bred with sonic before everyone bullied them into giving him justice.

Tell me this shit doesn't have the same fucking energy.

This isn't cute, it was never cute, it's fucking creepy to put hi-def details on an originally cartoonish characters. Its giving fleshball with hair. Side note, since tf when were creepers made of grass and leaves n shit? I feel like I'd puke if I touched one by accident.

I want to give credit where credit is due and say the piglins and the ghasts look great. I fuckin love the fact the ghasts are stitched at the seems. They look great. It's almost like cartoon proportions but realistic style can look good in its creepy nature when out on top of characters who are supposed to look creepy and not right. 🙄

I have no idea why they wouldn't just fully animate this movie. Why are there fully human live action actors in this bitch but literally everything else is CGI. These poor actors are just standing on green screens when they very literally could have just been live action segments of them popping in and out of the world of Minecraft while voicing their minecrafty looking selves while animated. Literally just give it the ready player one treatment. Also why is Steve, the titular Minecraft character, a live action human as well? Even if your weird fascination with Zionist autism-speaks devotee Jack black is what you paid ungodly money for, he's a good voice actor. He showed that in the Mario movie as Bowser. Why does he have to be not only an IRL human but also his beard nor skin tone match canonical Steve. Jason Momoa, the only moc on the cast of human characters, would match Steve's actual skin tone. The boy's got melanin, Jack does not.

Speaking of the human characters, I can smell the uninteresting cookie-cutter nerdy boy with a crush he needs to profess to protagonist a mile away, I'm sure the little girl character is tough on the outside but soft when she warms up and is quirky and joins the bad guys for a bit only to come back but never has any actual character, idk litterally anything about the adult woman character other than her outfit is giving Dora and she litterally says nothing during the trailer and jason Momoa? I'm alittle worried. First off, why you got this whole ass man in that shitty ass wig. That is party city shit. I could find better for $8 on Amazon. Second off, though I think he's trying to be like... 80s 90s pop star twisted sister style shit, im NGL... My first thought was " is this a transmysognistic caricature?" Because of notch and the fact he moves pretty femininely through the trailer. I won't judge it yet but like... My hackles were UP up. I'm stressed. Another thing of note? No Alex nor Villagers. The villages were there and actively plundered but no villagers.

Something interesting of note is that the villagers were originally made, by notch, to be antisemitic caricatures. That's why they have the big nose, the nasally voice, considered primitive, the specific obsession with emeralds of all gems, why their deals always suck and they come off greedy. Mojang did very little to change their original design and even though you couldn't tell nessesarily without knowing that context that the villagers were a caricature, that doesn't make them less of one and Mojang really should of made the choice to change them by now. I, like many other allies and obviously the Jewish community, always felt a little uncomfortable with them but are now especially nervous about their more realistic but still cartoony take. We've seen plenty of human/realistic but cartoonish takes on villagers fully lean into the caricature with hooked noses, pointed ears and other common ethnicly Jewish features. Some even Include Payots ( the curly pieces of hair worn on orthodox Jewish men), Yamakas and stars of davids. These are clearly antisemitic caricatures and I, and many other fans, are worried about their one screen translations. I can only hope they humanize them as some more realistic takes on villagers can be good.

My second to last note is the setting, holy fuck is it UGLY ugly. Like I dont watch any Minecraft YouTubers or streamers so I'm not accustomed to tracing rays 1,000 mods realistic lighting, realistic resources, needs huge processors to run without the computer becoming the same temp as the surface of the sun to be happy with the way it looks but like... Ew. I play raw mc, no mods on console (and PC at one point but that was awhile ago and also with no mods) and I, through buildings or natural landscapes and locations, etc have seen prettier lighting and locations than what they chose. Like, one of the many joys of Minecraft is the simplistic but natural and real and relaxing atmosphere the world of Minecraft can be. Even when it's raining or snowing. Minecraft sunsets and sunrises after you spent the last real world 56,000 hours on this big building complex and finally resting and watching the sunrise over your work and the mountains or ocean or forest or even desert around you become pink then yellow then bright as the start of a new day is a healing experience. It can be emotional even. That landscape looked like garbage. Incredibly monotonous and boring and plain. Just nothing. How you squeeze the very easy thing of a beautiful atmosphere out of Minecraft is beyond me.

Speaking of emotions, let's talk about the story and the humor/dialogue. I'll start with the later and end my thoughts with the former. The humor, the little we did see, seemed at least a little bit on brand for Minecraft. The animals especially. I'll give it that, I just hope it's not unending poop or fart or pee jokes. Finally, I, like many others, are very worried this is a modern isekai ass Jumanji style shit take of minecraft. We are very worried this is just modern people shoved into minecraft to solve a problem, save the world and leave. This isn't what Minecraft's about, it's not it's messaging nor ever been a " hero/band of heros story" about saving the world, I don't even think it will honor the final poem of the game.

Minecraft has always always ALWAYS been about community, belonging, making a place for yourself in a world that won't accept you, working together and coexisting. It's about peace. It's about sharing. These messages are very near and very dear to the 6 yr old gen alphas who've been playing it since they were 2 or 3 yrs old and beat it 60 times to the elder Gen z and millennials like me who grew up with the game and have a special place in our hearts for the world's we've built and lost to the 89 yr old grandma who played it over covid and built a home for her whole family to visit and live in with all the accommodations they could want. Minecraft is for all ages and everyone has either played it or heard of it, it is the most successful singular game in the world ffs. It has sold more copies than ANY single game in existence, over the most common production of solitaire and Tetris and Space invaders AND any super Mario or Pokemon game. Minecraft rakes in over billions of dollars and millions of players every single year. Those who start playing it struggle to stop. It's a cultural icon, a seriously beloved and wholesome one. One the fans truly took, made it their own for everyone's benefit and spawned so much spin off media and love that it's done better than most games could ever dream to do. Minecraft's success and communal love, despite the unsavory trend of pedo and bigoted YouTubers centered on the game, is its soul. It's driving force. Its succession literally cannot be understated and cannot not be attributed to its fans.

I fear this movie is a slap in the face money grab disrespectful turd in a doggy bag left on the community's porch. I fear this movie will have none of the game's and community's values and lessons and love. I fear this movie will do what Mario, sonic and fnaf did not, hurt it's audience. I, like many other fans, already have an unsavory taste left in our mouth's from this trailer pie and we can only hope it didn't come from American pie or the help. The movie looks fucking soulless. It looks corporate. Like it only exists to make money off the already successful IP that is Minecraft. Like they saw the box office explosive success of sonic and Mario and fnaf and decided to shit something else explosive out as quick as possible to jump on the trend. I fear because it's fucking Hollywood, the messages it holds will be watered down and tasteless like a fucking LaCroix where someone ate a cubic millimeter of an orange peel and shat in my can and called it flavor. It'll be the same old schmut that every kid friendly movie has. It will have no nods to and for its existing fans to comb through and point out and smile that they are seen.

It may not even have a fucking ender dragon or a wither. Will it even have the nether? People already pointed out that most movie trailers include some of the big cool (expensive) parts of the movie and if they eventually fight the ender dragon, they would of probably included that in the trailers due to how cool (expensive) that scene would be. It's not there. All we see is piglins, a relatively small enemy in the game, pillaging villages (why no , ya know, actual pillagers pillaging. Why piglins... Who are barely present in the over world....who dont attack unless provoked... and only attack the player not suddenly aggro with every AI in sight... Why are they attacking villagers suddenly....) which.... Isn't super interesting. That and the irl actors walking around and discovering how to fucking play the basic shit in Minecraft like getting wood.. and making crafting tables.... And talking to Steve. Like this has bad shitty written all fucking over it... I'm so worried.

We, the fans who work and love this game tirelessly, deserve better than isekai diet Jumanji live action meets shitty animated garbage.... I can only hope and pray that my take on this ages poorly. I hope it ages poorly and I'm horribly wrong and it's the next fnaf movie and shows huge amounts of respect for the fans. I want to be wrong. I want us to be respected. However you can't ignore the blood in the handkerchief concerning movies with a highly popular IP, too many a-list celebrities, high costs and piss poor CGI. It rarely doesn't lead to disaster. Please let me be wrong.

My opinion on the recent pixar movies part 2! :3

So I'm back here talking about pixar! Yay! :D I should really talk about animated stuff more.

Anyway, This will be an update from a old post I made a year ago. I said that I loved the new pixar movies, (besides Lightyear) and was excited to watch Elemental.

Since I watched it, and after also watching Inside Out 2, I'm gonna share my opinions on them!

Elemental: So I gotta be real, I was really expecting more from this story. I do love the story of the fire people. they're shown as outcast in the large city, And with the story from Amber's dad, it's a great message about immigration and how people that immigrate deal with the struggles of their journey. (Whether that be leaving your home, dealing with racists shits, etc.) However, I didn't really got into Amber and Wade's relationship that much. It's a good relationship don't get me wrong, but sadly, it's a kind of relationship that has been used over and over again. It feels like a mush of tropes that also extends to the entire movie. From the usual dad not liking the boyfriend, to the fake out death with Wade. And I didn't laugh at any of the jokes they took a shot at. Though, tbf, I've already seen multiple movies like this, and that's probably the reason I feel more sour with this one. 6/10 Kind of repetitive, but still good.

Inside Out 2: OMG THIS MOVIE GOT BE SOBBING WTF PIXAR?! So, going into this movie, I had my expectations low. I knew most pixar sequels are DEFINATELY worse than their ogs, so I wasn't going to expect that much going into it, but DAMN IT this movie went above and beyond of expanding the world of inside out, by bringing in more ideas that are fully in the plot of this film. How the strings form Riley's personality, how we bottle up certain memories so we "don't think about them right now!", how we store our deep secrets in a secure, almost FBI/CIA looking building. And the characters! OMG THE CHARACTERS!! Usually sequels would either completely reset the characters to how they were at the start of the first movie, or completely replace their personalities, but all of the characters, especially Joy, maintain how they were at the end of the first movie! They also give Joy another character arc! Letting Riley who she want's to be and not something Joy, or Anxiety wants her to be. Which speaking of which, ANXIETY IS PERFECT!!! Not only is she such a relatable character, (uh oh) she's also, and the concept of anxiety in this movie as a whole, is honestly one of the best interpretations of it. However, the part where I started to sob, was right after the anxiety attack, and Riley making her own self, when the trail of lights from Joy to the panel, and Sadness saying: "Riley wants you", and Joy starting to pilot, it was just a gut punch of joy and sadness all at once. It was...beautiful. I was crying until the credits rolled, and after the movie ended I kept saying "FUCK YOU PIXAR! YOU MADE ME TURN INTO MY 6 YEAR OLD SELF AGAIN!!" I have already watched this movie 10 times, and it's not getting old. I LOVE this movie, and it's now one of my favorite Pixar movies of all time. 9/10 Great ass work Pixar! (Now actually respect your animators!! >:( They deserve it for working hard of making this AND your other movies great!!)

(Jurassic Park example, actually. Alan Grant is the coolest mf in that movie and I'm p sure it's supposed to be Malcolm.) "look at how that dude dresses! how he acts! so cool!" "fascinating, but what is his favorite Star Trek series." I'm too autistic to understand whatever constitutes "cool" conventionally I guess. Hannibal is fine I like him but Will, with his dog obsession and deep desire to be Left The Fuck Alone, and then becoming unhinged over the series? very cool of him.

"this angel is a tyrant in favor of the apocalypse" deeply uncool. "this angel is a hedonistic coward that likes to victimize abusers" well, the bar is pretty low… (which isn't to say I think that deeply uncool (imo) character trait makes them a bad character in general, I just can't associate them with "cool-ness".)

no, no, it's fine. i see all these guys as pretty equally weird and autistic. i mean, ian malcolm is described as a rockstar of a mathematician for a reason, this is his Thing, you know? he thinks flirting via explaining his mathematical theory is hot. i'm really not sure you could claim he's not fascinated by the dinosaurs, given that they're his vehicle to prove his theory correct, that he's the one in the book who takes note of their population growth and figures out that the park is going to get out of human control very quickly. (as far as I remember, it's been a few years since i revisited it.) sorry wait this isn't ian malcolm defense squad time. and we don't have time to get into hannibal lmao.

BUT. i will not be accepting raphael slander ever forever. incorrect. they lay out their reasoning for the apocalypse very clearly in 5x03, how they have watched every monstrous thing that has occurred in human history and only been able to come to the conclusion that god has to be dead, because otherwise he couldn't have allowed it to happen. the apocalypse is a promised escape from pain. and then, of course, castiel's resurrection in the s5 finale alongside the apocalypse being cancelled tells them only one thing: that god is alive and he just. let all that shit happen. let it happen to the world, let it happen to raphael. now, gabriel is dead, michael and lucifer are in the cage, god is still mia, and castiel. it doesn't actually matter what castiel believes because he's become the face of all of that. it's an impossible position to be in, and archangels are, as a rule, not very good at changing course. raphael is alone, and raphael has decided to self-destruct. i just wish the writers actually gave a shit about them so they could have leaned into what is one of the coolest arcs of disillusionment with god and grasping at any measure of control when the one stable thing you've based your whole life on has been yanked out from under you.

and gabriel is deeply uncool. that's the point! he's not a hero of the people, taking out evildoers in funny ways. he's a deeply petty, incredibly self-serving asshole who still carries the belief that, as an archangel, he gets to decide what's right and wrong, who lives and who dies, and how much pain he gets to cause them before they do. he's all for the apocalypse until it starts messing with his things. his eventual stand against lucifer isn't righteous, it's a dozen insults lashing out as his older brother, trying to hurt him as much as he possibly can because lucifer hurt gabriel first. and he dies because he is still too much like lucifer. he's still playing the same tricks lucifer taught him to. cause what's the apocalypse but a much larger version of gabriel's game, right? one angel who decided humanity as a whole was rotten and needed to be wiped out against another angel who has spent the past few centuries taking out his issues on whatever jerk crosses his path. like, really, the difference is that lucifer is out to get Results. gabriel likes fucking with people, but he doesn't want the status quo to change because that would mean no more people to fuck with.

first and foremost, gabriel is a dickhead whose shots sometimes hit their mark. i love him so much, he's so awful.

TFOne takes the crown of The 2024 movie, saw it in the cinema three times I love it so much. I also watched all of CSI: Miami in February, surely lots of it was a rewatch as I've been watching on TV since I was like 13 on every given occasion lol. Finally did a rewatch of Generator Rex that i still gotta finish tbh. Saw the cunt the movie 2024, thank u the cunt content in 2024 very cool. Alien Romulus was fantastic, GxK keep doing whatever u doing I love Godzilla what can I say lol. Twisters made me crave more catastrophic movies that I always loved very much. Started a the X-men marathon that I kinda abandoned but will be back to it, and decided to also watch the entire series of Paranormal Activity as I havent seen anything from it before.

Silver Talks AniManga (29/12/24)

Like I said last week there's barely anything this time. Between the anime season ending and magazines being on break for the holidays there wasn't a lot going on this week

(I was gonna yap a bit about stuff here but it turned out a lot longer than I originally planned so I put it under the cut lol)

Since I didn't end up talking about any of the series above this time, instead I wanted to look at this year as a whole

Can't talk much about manga since stuff rarely starts and ends on the same year unless it gets axed, but I have to mention MHA and JJK ending ofc. I was with MHA since basically the start (chap 4), and while I didn't read it (or anything else tbf) for a few years, I caught up a while before it ended, it still felt unreal to see a series that I kept up for 10 years end. As of JJK, I caught up 1 year before it ended, tho in my head it was less time. It had many flaws yes, but it has one my favourite power systems I've seen in any series and the fights were always super cool and easy to follow, I had an absolute blast reading it. I hope I can get to the anime eventually As for axed series, I was very sad seeing MamaYuyu go. The art was great and the paneling was amazing so it was a shame to see it go early (tho 34 chaps is still p good). Really hope to see the artist return sooner rather than later

As for anime, I'm pretty proud of myself. Last year I watched a total of 10 shows (11 if you count the Fate special). This year I watched a whole 29! That's basically triple so that's crazy. It might not seem like a big deal but before I started watching stuff seasonally again last year, the last time I had watched any anime was in 2019 when I watched the broly movie in theaters and finished Jojo P5 and the granblue anime that I had pending with only a handful of eps. Before that, the last time I watched anything seasonal was in spring 2018. If I recall, that's around the time I went to uni and I was way too depressed to anything so I didn't read or watch anything for ages oofies. I don't remember everything that's coming next year, but I'm hoping there's a lot of good shows once again so I can match this year or even pass it

The only thing I would've changed about this year would've been doing more stuff with my backlog. There's a lot of stuff I'd like to catch up with, like the Blue Exorcist manga which I mentioned multiples times, or stuff I'd like to go back to finish that I left hanging, Shokugeki and Dr.Stone manga stand out the most. Not to mention various anime I missed over the years like the new Uma seasons or BtR. But between all the stuff I'm already watching and reading, working and trying to do other stuff in my free time I find it hard to find the energy or motivation to go through the backlog. I know that I just need a little push to get over the initial inertia and then I'll be fine (for each individual thing) but it just hasn't happened yet. Here's hoping I can find the time and will to do that in this coming year 👍

Gets extremely excited for zoo visits, as a kid he actually used to frequently get lost at zoo trips since he'd run off to look at all the animals faster then his mum/ class.

Likes splashing in puddles (especially if it means he can splash Chifuyu or Ryusei).

Whenever he sees Luna and Mana they beg to braid his hair (he secretly likes it being played with)

Actually likes talking while watching movies, he likes having someone to theorise with and discuss the plot with.

He can't take any credit for his hair care cause his mother taught him everything he knows.

As a kid he would constantly invite Kazutora round for dinner because he didn't like the idea of him being home alone/ with his parents.

Actually doesn't understand the fuss over dating at all (not until he meets a certain someone and falls in love at first sight).

Can make a really great paper airplane (used to aim them at Mikey's hair)

Will show affection through biting

Is super handy with tools, always fixing things his mother tells him to (she taught him everything he knows).

Shinichiro used to ruffle his hair a lot as a kid, he always loved that feeling (Shinichiro's the only one allowed to do this though)

His school sports coaches are constantly trying to recruit him for baseball club (i mean tbf he does have great aim).

Used to have his own piercings but his mum made him take them out (that's why he knows what he's doing with Kazutora's).

Is really great at climbing trees (he wanted to beat Mikey so badly at climbing that he started practising non stop.)

Has accidentally broken his phone at least 6 times

Has named every single stray cat that comes into his room.

Got so angry when Senju attacked him while training Emma (he immediately pushed Emma behind him to try and protect her) but that anger immediately vanished when he realised who attacked him and why.

Has teased Mikey before by saying Emma likes him as a martial arts partner more.

Has a lucky hair tie for fights

Is very protective as a partner, will constantly check your wellbeing and safety.

Is also on bug duty, there's a big spider in the house? It's his job to take it outside.

Is a bit of a baby when it comes to taking medicines, doesn't like the way they taste and refuses to take them.

Went to visit Sanzu in the hospital after the incident, he brought him magazines to try and cheer him up.

Feeds the local wildlife as well as cats, he has a few trees where he hangs birdfeeders etc

His mother always makes a big effort for his birthdays so he's learnt to make a big effort for everyone elses. Though he always puts in the most effort for her.

Has been late to meetings because he was distracted by a cat before

Baji kept every letter Kazutora sent him

As a partner he's very good at reading your moods and adapting to them. Your sad? Then he'll cheer you up. Stressed? He'll help you relax. Angry? Then he'll take you out somewhere to let that frustration out.

Watered a fake plant for two years without realising it wasn't real once.

How many times would you guess you watched the first back to the future movie?

Since I only hopped on this time train towards the final third of the year lol: fully all the way through, at least 4! Otherwise I've jumped around a lot while looking for clips and references and stuff. So if I stitch all those together, then we'll say approx 5ish :) The first movie is my favorite one!

Yes I did !!! It is actually the most fan content I've ever made for a fandom since I was in... maybe junior high? So like YUH. Tbh, it's very difficult for me to find what you would call 'pride' in my art so ehh >_>; that being said, I do think that I had a lot of good IDEAS for Doctober (esp days 19 and 28), but my execution wasnt really the best. I would have liked to draw days 17 and 24 (+ time travel day) a little more properly too; like, I'm not as disappointed at how they turned out, but I still wish they were better and/or I could have given them more time. The ones I most actually-tried-and-dont-mind are days 7, 9, and 21 + under the sea dance day. (So many links was probably cheating but tbf I've kinda bent the rules for the past few questions so... whatevs lol). I've ALSOOO still been working on my godforsaken essay, it is 40 pages rn but even tho it's not done, I'm INSANELY proud of it Q_Q

How many times were you late for school this year?

None! B) For one thing I'm graduated lol, but also I'm typically early gang. I'm that person who'd sit in the classroom by myself for like 5 minutes before everyone else would show up LMBO ^^;

Yess I did!! A... lot actually :0 Most of them were by chance/pre bttf era, but still :P Here is my list as well as I could find, sorry it is soooo long, but what are ya gonna do:

Star Wars/The Mandalorian; The Addams Family (1991); The Tale of Desperaux (2008); Cyberchase; & Clue (1985) -- Christopher Lloyd, havent rewatched the latter 3 since I was a kid and literally went :0 to learn he apparently was in them. Also Kings Quest (2015) which isn't a movie/show but I think it counts uwu

Stuart Little (1999) -- Michael J. Fox, which also rocked my world to discover O_O like hearing it now I'm like "yeah thats him alright" but as a kid I would never have been able to tell you that was the same guy from that time travel movie, despite watching both way too much LMBO

Elf (2003) & Last Vegas (2013) -- Mary Steenburgen, nothing much to say except that she slayed ^_^

Love at the Christmas Table (2012) -- Lea Thompson, I didn't care for it and was shouting "LEA GET OUT OF THIS MOVIE, UR BETTER THAN THIS" like the whole time lol.

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (2002) & Curious George (2006) -- apparently these have Donald Fullilove (Goldie Wilson) in them? Same w Jason Scott Lee (Whitey) in Lilo & Stitch (2002)??? And Star Wars/Kenobi show apparently had Flea (Needles)????? ...HUH.

I binged both the entirety of Law and Order: SVU as well as Seinfeld this year w my sister; apparently Mary Steenburgen, Lea Thompson, & Casey Siemaszko (3-D) are in at least one episode of the former, while Elsa Raven (Clocktower Lady) and Ricky Dean Logan (Data) are apparently in a random episode of Seinfeld each. So like, technically I saw them, tho I don't distinctly remember it :'D Also, I have been making my way through Little House on the Prairie recently, which has Matt Clark (Chester the Bartender) in a few episodes !

Finally finally finally, I watched I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore (2017), as well as the LOTR trilogy like. Twice? And they all have Elijah Wood of course >:3c

Was there a memorable moment you heard a Huey Lewis song this year?

None in the wild, no :P But I did end up being in the top 0.1% of listeners for Huey Lewis this year... so UHHHHH take that as u will LMBO

How many times did you fall down this year?

Did you get to see BTTF: The Musical? What was your experience like!

Nooo, I didn't even know it existed until like October !!! It looks super fun but atm/last I checked it doesn't come to where I live so :( I should listen to the soundtrack soon!

How many times did your mom retell the story of how she and your father met?

At least three times, and then probably a few times I'm forgetting :P

If you could describe your year in a BTTF quote, which one would it be?

The year in general is definitely "Oh great, the atrocity channel!" LMBO (but when hasn't it been since like... 2020? 2016???). For me personally, I think it's either "I don't know if I could take that kind of rejection." or "Don't talk to anyone, don't touch anything, don't do anything, don't interact with anyone, and try not to look at anything." ^^;

I need to get better about that. Also I'd LIKE to get a full-time job and my own place some time next year, but we will see !!!

tbf im not a huge horror guy despite the Everything about me and my blog (a lot of horror doesnt scare me so it just makes me bored unless its horror comedy or there is homoeroticism) BUT

Pt. 2

Summary: Y/N is new in town and comes across two beautiful boys that both spark and interest in her. Which boy will she choose....

Warnings: Just some cute stuff, romance, 18+ still to come

Word Count: 3.8k words (tbf this whole story is over 10k words)

Author Note: I am new to this whole thing, and this is my first post, so be gentle. But also let me know your thoughts and if you want more? I have written so much of this but am always willing to make changes. Part 3 is going to be juicyyyyyy

The night went on with you having dinner with Sarah, Rose, Wheezie, Ward and Rafe, much to your surprise Rafe sat right next to you. Every so often his knee would graze yours but it would linger just long enough to know he was doing it on purpose. But you could not do that as he was in a relationship and you were not that type of girl so you moved your knee further from him. The conversation flowed between you and the Cameron family, them asking about your life and you telling them everything they asked, it was a night of laughter and good chats. After dinner Sarah had asked you to stay the night to which you agreed. As dinner ended and everyone was clearing the table Rafe pulled you to the side, away from prying eyes, “Hey, Y/N, since you are staying over I wanted to know if you wanted to watch a movie later?”, you agreed but you knew you could not trust yourself to be alone in the dark with him so you insisted on Sarah joining, much to Rafe’s annoyance.

Sarah sat on the bean bag and you sat on the loveseat to which Rafe happily sat next to you but you scooted as far away as possible and it seemed to have hurt Rafe a little as his head hung low. Sarah fell asleep half way through the movie which left basically you and Rafe alone, which is what you did not want. Much to your surprise you and Rafe spoke throughout the whole rest of the movie about your lives, ambitions, goals and what you want to do after school. You actually had a lot in common and the conversation flowed like you had known each other for years, he was so easy to talk to and his laugh was something out of an angel choir, the way his head flew back when you said something funny and he giggled like a 2 year old with a new toy, he was perfect but he was not mine, he belonged to someone else.

Little did you know Rafe felt exactly the same and he had butterflies that he has never felt before, there was something about you and he was infatuated. The way your blonde hair fell perfectly passed your shoulders and down to your lower back, the way your eyes twinkled when you spoke about the things you loved and your laugh only drew him in, the little dimples that appeared every time you smiled. Rafe was hooked on you and he could not shake it, but there was one problem, he was with someone, although he did not love her anymore, he was still spoken for and he could and he could not do anything until he had sorted it out. You and Rafe had been talking for what felt like hours and you never wanted it to end, neither did he.

When Sarah eventually stirred in her sleep and woke up she insisted you two go up to bed, as she left the room, you said “I will be right there, give me a minute” she nodded groggily and left the room to go upstairs, you turned to Rafe. “Thanks for this, it has been really nice talking to someone who has similar life interests, but I better get up to bed I have a long day tomorrow” with that you stood up. But Rafe did not want you to go, he did not want this to end, and with that he grabbed your hand and yanked you onto his lap so that you were straddling him, faces inches apart. You tried to push away saying this is not right and that we can’t do this but his firm grip held you tightly in place. “I know, but I can’t pretend that I feel nothing for you, and I don’t think you can either” he said, and you just looked at him. With that being said he kissed you, so eager and so lustful like he had been waiting for this moment for so long and with ease you reciprocated the kiss. It got really heated with you pulling on his hair and his one hand snaking around your throat while the other gripped your ass, he then picked you up and flipped you around to lie on the couch as he hovered over you, he hand then snaked it way under your shirt till it was firmly cupping your breast, you didn’t want this to end but it was not right and with that realisation you quickly pushed him off of you and stood up leaving both of you panting, Rafe looked at you with sad eyes but he too knew you couldn’t be doing this not when he was in a relationship.

“Rafe, that should never have happened, I am not this person” you said with tears threating to spill. He stood up and cupped your face “I know, but there is something about you and I can’t seem to shake it” he said. You pulled away “That cannot happen again, you are in a relationship.” You stated and started walking away, “I don’t love her you know, haven’t for a while. And you have just confirmed that” he said as you were walking away. He continued, “I want you, in more ways than one, and I know we only just met but I feel like we just connect and I feel like I have known you forever and its magic Y/N. Tell me you feel it too?” you stopped in your tracks and turned to him “Rafe, I do feel it but as long as you are with someone else we cannot do anything about us.” He looked as if he was contemplating something, “I’ll leave her if that means I get a chance with you.” He said, “When that happens we can talk, but don’t leave her on my account Rafe. Do it because you feel it’s right not because you feel you have to.” You said, he walked towards you and cupped your face with both hands, “This, this is what I want. You, to get to know you and spend time with you but I have to sort some things out first” and with that he planted one small kiss on your lips and left, leaving you there on your own thinking about what just happened.

The next morning was your first day of school, as you got ready you kept replaying last night, how could you let that happen, you made your way to the kitchen, now back home and saw your dad in the kitchen just about to leave, he said his goodbyes and with that he was off to work. You ate breakfast and then got ready to leave, as there was no uniform you put on a short floral white skirt along with a tight white crop top hugging you in all the right places, you paired it with some white converse and you were off. You knew you would not bump into Rafe today as he went to another school which was a relief, you got to school and thankfully all the pogues were there, and there he was the blue eyed, blonde haired boy who yesterday asked you to go for a ride after school but after what happened with Rafe you don’t know if you could, seeing as you already felt so strongly about someone in a relationship.

No, you know what I am going to go as Rafe is in a relationship and that does not mean I can’t go out too. He smiled at you as you walked towards them giving you a small wink, “Hey guys” you said and they all said hey back, you all spoke for a bit until the bell rang, and you walked to class, JJ being the first to offer his assistance in showing you around which you were thankful for. School went on as normal and then came break you all met outside in the seating area and you and JJ got to talking, you spoke about your plan for after school and where to meet, you spoke for a while until a girl with long brunette hair and piercing greens eyes walked up to us and sat right next to JJ. She was beautiful, in every way, but I got this weird feeling from her by the way she sat so close to JJ and placed her hand on his leg.

JJ spoke up after removing her hand from his leg and placing his on yours, it was quite cute actually, much to her hatred. She piped up “Hi, I am Jennifer, but you can call me Jen. You have either heard of me or my boyfriend Rafe, the hottest guy in OBX”, now you had to introduce yourself to the girlfriend of the boy you heavily made out with last night. “Hi, I’m Y/N. I am new here” she did not look to impressed, looking you up and down as if she was judging you silently, which she probably was. She ignored you and faced JJ, “So, JJ what are you doing later” she said fluttering her eyes, which was weird to me because she Is with Rafe. “I am taking Y/N out on a date” he said and looked at me and smiled. She was not happy and that only made me smile more, I took JJ’s hand in mine and I stood up and we walked away, not letting go of his hand which he did not seem to mind. The rest of the school day went by as expected, you trying to locate your classes and getting up to speed with everything, as you entered the school year halfway through it. After school I met JJ outside where he had said by the bike parking spaces.

I walked up to him sat on his bike, but god he was so hot, I honestly felt so lucky that this man wanted to take me out but my head kept going back to Rafe, but I had to shake that. I got on the back on his bike and put my helmet on, what I did not notice was Rafe sitting in his jeep across the lot watching us, he was there to pick up Jennifer but he was seething, he hated seeing you touch another boy, let alone that worthless pogue, but he knew you were free to do what you wanted as he was in a relationship which he planned to end today. But seeing you with someone other than him killed him, and the thought of another boy touching or kissing you made his blood boil. He was so distracted by watching you two ride off that he did not notice Jen enter the call calling his name.

“Rafe, hello? ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?” she yelled snapping him out of his haze. “No, sorry what did you say” he said looking at her, she was mad because she could see him staring at you and that pissed her off. She did not love Rafe, she wanted JJ but she could not let the new girl have both Rafe and JJ. So she put a plan in motion to tear both boys away from you. Starting with JJ. She had to push you closer to Rafe, so that she could have JJ and then when that happened she would inevitably get Rafe back, leaving you with nothing.

“Rafe, we both know this relationship has been over for a while now, so with that being said I think we should end it and go our separate ways. And don’t think I haven’t noticed you staring at Y/N. It was fun while it lasted Rafe” after she said that she got out his car. Rafe had not said anything as she has basically just done what he was going to do although he could not think of that right now all he could think about was you and where you were.

You and JJ finally arrived at the spot he had been talking about and it was incredible, the view of the whole of OBX with the sun setting at just the perfect spot, he had set up such a beautiful picnic for the two of you and you were so grateful. You two sat down and drank champagne and spoke till the sun was down and the moon and the stars where out, you spoke about everything and anything just enjoying each other’s company. It was the best time, and for the time being you forgot about Rafe and were just in the moment with JJ, everything about him was perfect, his laugh, his smile and the way he spoke about everything he loved and wanted to do. He was so soft and gentle and you could tell he had a good heart, you were just staring at him with awe as he spoke and in that moment all you really wanted to do was kiss him, so you did, you took his face and pulled it towards you and planted a kiss on his lips and he was shocked, you pulled away and quickly apologised, “I am sorry, I don’t know what came over me” you said covering your face with your hands, he pulled your hands into his and looked at you, “never apologise for that, I would do it again 10 times over” after saying that he leaned in again and kissed you, it was much different to the way Rafe kissed you, JJ kissed you with passion and love and Rafe kissed you with lust and wanting. Both incredible but so different and your head was scrambled. You and JJ spent a few more hours there just enjoying each other’s company until you had to head home.

JJ dropped you off at the ned of the road of Tannyhill and gave you a sweet kiss goodbye, “thank you for tonight Y/N, it was incredible and I hope we can do it again soon. I’ll call you later okay?” he said and I nodded and he left.

You did have the greatest time with JJ but as you were walking up the road to your house your mind kept going back to Rafe, what was it about him that you could not shake, but you knew you would kick yourself if you didn’t see it out. Little to you knowledge Rafe had watched the entire thing unfold with you and JJ in the driveway and he refused to lose you to a fucking pogue. He knew he had to do something, so that is exactly what he did, and it was something. Rafe ran out of his house and caught up to you before you could get into your house. He ran up to you out of breath and you could not help but admire how beautiful he was, even when he was out of breath.

“Rafe, what are you doing, did you just run here?” you questioned him, wanting to know why he was here and if he saw you kiss JJ. You felt guilty about it, even though you had no reason to, you are single. “Y/N, I need to tell you something, well a lot actually” he trailed off, he almost looked nervous and you had no idea why, or what he wanted to talk to you about. “Uhm, Jen and I broke up today. I just couldn’t be with someone I did not love anymore, especially when I felt such strong feelings about someone else, that someone else being you. Look what I am trying to say is that, I like you Y/N, a lot and I cannot get you out of my head, and I know I just got out of a relationship like literally 4 hours ago, but God do I want to be with you, so bad. I want to spoil you and praise you and treat you like gold, I want to love you and cherish you and do everything in life with you by my side. Please let me do that, and I saw what happened with you and JJ and that’s okay, it proved to me that I could not let you go”, Rafe was rambling at this stage and you just looked at him in complete admiration at how he is so easily confessing his feelings to you, “Rafe, shhhhh”, “No Y/N you need to hear this” and as he was about to continue rambling you kissed him, with so much passion and so much heat it was like you were running out of oxygen and he was your air, he was shocked at first but very quickly reciprocated, he snaked his arms around your waist and prompted you to jump.

You obliged and jumped into his arms while he carried you into the house. He made his way to your bedroom, surprised he knew which one but I guess he did use to live here so he was very familiar with the property. He laid you on your bed and continued kissing you he hands found their way under your shirt and cupped your boob and he started playing with them, you wanted this, you wanted him but not so soon. You pushed him off gently, he looked very confused “Rafe, I want this, but not right now, it’s too soon, I want to get to know you more, can we take this slow? I also want to talk to JJ, he deserves to know” you said quietly not wanting to upset him, a part of you also wanted to make sure he actually wanted to be with you and not just sleep with you. “He cupped you face when you two sat up, “Baby, I will do anything you want, if you want to take it slow, we can take it slow, whatever makes you happy” he said in the softest voice, and you couldn’t help but feel that you were going to fall and crash hard in love with this boy. You two spent the rest of the night talking about yourselves and your families and your backgrounds. You spoke about your insecurities and what kept you up at night, you spoke about the things you both loved in life and your dreams. You spoke until the sun rose and what was hours felt like minutes, being with him was natural. Rafe was in his element, he loved every second and every moment with you and he never wanted to leave. This very moment reminded Rafe of a song and he grabbed his phone as you were falling asleep laying on his chest, he thought you were sleep but you were in and out just listening to his heart beat and him stroking your hair, then he started playing the song and your heart skipped a beat,

When the song eventually ended you felt tears well up in your eyes, you never knew you could feel for someone so deeply so quickly.

The two of you eventually trailed off to sleep for what felt like 5 minutes because then your alarm went off and you knew you had to go to school and tell JJ what you felt for Rafe.

You stirred awake and noticed that Rafe was not there, you were confused why would he leave you? But as you turned you saw a note on your pillow and you smiled, it read “My beautiful girl, sorry I had to leave you, I would of woken you but you looked so peaceful sleeping. I had to run some errands for my dad but I will see you later xoxo Rafe”

You held the note close to your heart so tightly, you got up and got dressed for school, slightly dreading it because you had to see JJ and tell him. He had phoned you last night like he said but given the situation you were in you didn’t answer. You got to school and saw JJ sitting out in front and he gave the biggest smile when he saw you and your heart dropped, you were now going to have to break his heart and that did not sit right with you but you can’t deny what you feel for Rafe.

“Hello gorgeous” he said beaming and he tried to kiss you but you swerved and he was confused, “Hey J, we need to talk” you said and he looked worried but agreed. You went and sat next to him and took a few minutes before saying something and he waited patiently. “I had an amazing time last night, just so you know, but a few things happened when you left and it is the right thing to tell you” you continued “Rafe came and visited me and we spoke for a really long time and JJ I cannot deny what I feel for him, and I can’t live with myself if I did not see it out. I do like you JJ, I really do but I feel gravitated towards Rafe, I am so sorry. I would still love to be in your life and be friends but that is purely up to you and I will respect your decision” you said shyly. He dropped his head and was silent for what felt like hours but he then said something and you half expected him to absolutely demolish you, but that is the opposite of what he did and you kind of wished he hated you to make it easier.

“Look Y/N, obviously that is not great to hear, because I saw potential in us, but I will never stop you from following your heart, I will stand by your side, because you are an amazing person. I would love to still be in your life, that won’t change just because of who you are with. This sucks it really does, but all I want is for you to be happy and if that is with someone else so be it” he said sadly but you could see he was telling the truth. You looked at him with sweet eyes and then pulled him into a hug and the rest is history.
