WHERES THE LINK TO THE POST ABOUT DANNY DYING IN A SKI ACCIDENT
i went looking for the post and could not find it, sorry friend :(
basically it was a rather long "yes and" post where someone suggested that for whatever reason (possibly something involving his jumpsuit?) a few amity parkers start speculating that phantom died in an avalanche during a skiing trip. then people kept adding on hypothetical evidence, like how phantom hates christmas (possibly the time of year he died) and has an ice core, and how his ghostly wail could be a result of the innate desire for someone to hear him while buried beneath the snow. in my head its iconic(tm) bc not a day goes by that i don't think about it, but i went through ten pages of the dp tag and 2 dp heritage post blogs and i CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE.
phandom members: does anyone know where this post can be found? like i said the post is about amity park assuming that danny died in an avalanche while skiing.
#i'm really sorry op i looked for like an hour :/#on the plus side i found a lot of really cool dp posts while searching#hopefully someone knows where to find it!#danny phantom#dp#dp au#danny phantom au#danny fenton#it's an ask

Hi I was wondering you mentioned awhile ago about Lucy being a stray child, labour orphan, kind of thing?
Like, maybe Lucy grew up in a mercenary group, a circus tent, a performance troupe, as their chore girl. And I was wondering do you have any hcs on this , I like the idea especially since I feel like Lucy is more stray child than rich child to me.
Especially since Lucy always talking about rent money and she has a guilty pleasure being called princess.
Love to hear your thoughts on this 💗
🀄️anon
I like to imagine she could still be Heartfilia here, like maybe she ran away right after her mom died, instead of when she's a teen. Maybe Jude completely lost his mind after Layla died, she couldn't handle it, and she ran away with only her keys. She gets picked up by a mercenary group/circus troupe (let's say their both, with a hint of illegal activity), and so continues.
Realistically she would be in a lot more trouble as a pretty little girl with expensive keys on hand, but let's say Lucy luck and the goodness of humanity won out. She gets raised fairly well in a group of older men and women. How about the troupe is full of people usually regarded as 'freaks', Greatest Showman style, and she's the poster girl because she's a conventionally attractive little girl? She's their baby girl and she's the most protected child in the world.
I'd say she has an advantage in the stray child world because she's educated. She can read, write, and she can do both of those well. She can also sweet-talk in an aristocratic level, and she'll definitely learn more on how to swindle and haggle by lingering around the boss. She learns a variety of things here-- how to attract the male gaze to find spots to pickpocket, how to get a man drunk to get information out of them, and how to keep people's gaze on you.
These could show in canon material in: 1. Lucy easily dressing as a maid/acting the part for Everlue. She later also waits tables perfectly on 8island. 2. going up on stage in a bunny costume because the attention is adoring. Her entire life is spent finding new ways to look cute and pretty, and getting paid because of it-- this gives her a bit of an inclination toward money and princess treatment. Attracting attention is second nature to her, but without all the stage presence hyping her up, she's actually average, and often comes off like she's overdoing/overconfident (which will turn people off), which would explain Jason and the ep1 shopkeeper's treatment of her.
She absolutely hates being snubbed. It hurts her pride because she's used to attracting much grander audience, but somehow once she's alone it's a tough crowd. She hates it and she will make you look at her or you get a kick and she's taking your money anyways.
Honestly, I like the idea of Lucy being good at cheating at poker, pickpocketing, dancing exotic dances, coordinating everyone's fashion and disguises, etc.
And now, of course, growing up in a circus troupe could explain her cheerleading prowess. She'll be the acrobat/trapeze artist of the trope. Other than gymnastics, she's good at being thrown, and throwing herself along a line (ergo, using her whip, especially after Etoiles.). Her limbs are strong as hell despite being thin (Lucy kick), she's flexible, and she's used to being thrown about in the air and keeping her control in mid-air. As a team, she works best with Taurus.
In this vein, I'd like to think the troupe scouted out Taurus for her, so they could sell this 'little girl with her big strong minotaur' as a show staple. I'd like to think the rest of her spirits love their work there too, Cancer for today's flamboyant theme, Lyra's harp as they all sing, and even Aquarius for a Water show! Though Aquarius might be mad.
I'd like to think Horologium first learned the whole 'she says' thing with these shows. They probably called him out for protection in some controlled disaster performance, and Lucy stayed in there for safety, while narrating her words out to the audience.
This adds a layer of very fun depth to Loke being the lion tamed by the showgirl. Could he find it insulting that she's trying to order her around? Or the other way around-- could Lucy be entirely confident she'll save him, because she's handled much freakier beasts in her life, and that's why she knows to respect him, not make him submit. She knows this relationship is a mutual partnership, and thus, she actually speaks to Loke even more than before. (Though Loke, after the arc is over and done with, starts going down the master servant route because he's a disaster and Lucy screams in embarrassment.)

I'm curious, what was the first fandom you recall participating in, if any? What, in your opinion, was the best?
I joined Tumblr to escape FB, IG, & Twitter, and because I was about to move across the country, and a person I knew from HS was my first friend here and introduced me to a couple of other people they knew on here. Also, I was watching Supernatural (unironically but not rabidly), and there was a huge community here, so my choice seemed like a great fit.
I took one look at the SPN Fandom and decided I was happy to just watch from three houses down with some binoculars. Their fans are a bit... intense.
It wasn't until year two of Dracula Daily that I really got into a Fandom, but I'm not great at contributing. I have written, edited, agonized over the just right way to say what I'm thinking, and then just deleted more posts than I've actually posted.
I also have a translation issue when it comes to visual art: I can see in my mind exactly what I want to show/convey, but I can't translate it via my hands. I spent a decade in art classes, working on techniques and practicing before I admitted my limitations and turned to acting.
In fandom spaces, I'm a cheering section, mostly!

i had a dream that time travel was invented and too many people choose to travel back in time to save the titanic from sinking (the question of whether unsinking of the titanic deserved so much attention in the face of human history was the subject of both heavy academic and online discourse), which caused a rift in the space-time-continuum that led to the titanic showing up indiscriminately all over the world’s oceans and sea in various states of sinking.
this caused a lot of issues both in terms of fixing said space-time-continuum and in terms of nautical navigation, and after a long and heavy battle in the international maritime organization it was decided that the bureaucratic burden of dealing with this was to be upon Ireland, much to their dismay. the Irish Government then released an app for all sailors and seafarers so they could report titanic sightings during their journeys, even though they heavily dissuaded you from reporting them given the paperwork it caused.
anyway i woke up with a clear image of the app in my head and needed to recreate it for all of you:
#why mexico please don't ask me that.#dream interpreters would love your views on this please advise...

I'm very tired of this "queer college students should stop supporting Palestine, they'd kill you there!" I watched a hijabi ask a trans man, "but what name do you want to go by?" A butch giving a woman their hoodie so that she could keep her hair covered after the cops took her scarf. Muslim girls making sure the lesbian couple got through the system together. Religious men making sure purple haired protestors got out safe. I don't want to hear it. Solidarity forever, free Palestine.

one of the most infuriating things about becoming an adult is when you realize that it actually is 10x easier to solve problems by making a phone call vs literally any other communication method
#I was forced to get over my hatred of making phone calls bc of this#one 15 minute phone call is the equivalent of 5 back and forth emails#also if you don't know exactly what you need help with you can just ask and you can get real help#instead of just desperately clawing at faqs on websites#it's infuriating that it works so well#ramblings

Okay but just imagine if you had this guy in your friend group who’s a jerk with hardly any redeeming qualities but then your friend group drifted over the years after an incident with two of them and the guy turned into a mere passing thought.
One day you see his name on a student’s form - huh, that’s weird. Maybe the kid’s parents are going through something and he’s staying with his cousin for a while. That goes to the back of your mind as life continues. You notice that the kid stays withdrawn and doesn’t appear to have any real friends even if people idolize him. Then, several months later, he starts coming to school on a regular basis with another student; one of the most sweet and naive people you’ve ever known besides your best friend.
Finally, another student transfers from another school into your class. On his paperwork you notice the jerk’s name as his guardian. You also notice it’s on the sweet girl’s paperwork too. Later, when you talk to her, you find out that instead of living with her grandfather, she’s actually moved in with two boys and their older cousin, known for being a creep and a bastard. The girl promises nothing bad is happening.
The only solace you find in the situation is that the two boys seem to respect her and her female friends mention having visited and approving her living situation. You let it go after these observations.
Then that scumbag shows his face their senior year as their guardian and you wonder how you ever thought it was okay for three teenagers estranged from their immediate families to live with him for three years.
Now imagine your name is Mayu and the bastard’s name is Shigure.
when i tell you that last sentence hit me like a brick to the face -
actually, i think the best part about this scenario is that mayu canonically ends up marrying hatori, which means that she's not only legally related to shigure, she also has to see him all the damn time bc he's her husband's best friend in the world. i'm sure shigure eventually proves himself (especially if hatori vouches for tohru's sketchy living situation with them), but i think it'd be really funny if mayu kept up her grudge against him and made herself the #1 Shigure Sohma hater of the family. she and yuki have roasting sessions of him. if ayame is in the room they team up to make fun of him via a boke-tsukkomi routine. one time shigure drops by to annoy hatori and mayu answers the door wearing a custom "I h8 the year of the dog" t-shirt. it was apparently a christmas gift, but she refuses to tell him who gave it to her. (it was hatori.)
#she gets along great with ayame btw#they're old friends so she's used to the eccentrics#i don't think mayu hates shigure *that* much but the concept is super funny#payback for three years worth of worry and half-dialed child services calls#fruits basket#mayuko shiraki#shigure sohma#it's an ask

How do you think Erza's relationship with Natsu and Gray changed post-Tower of Heaven arc? I know we see it in small ways (i.e. Gray being more open with her in one-on-one heart-to-hearts, Natsu trusting her to win her fights and live in the Battle of Fairy Tail arc, etc) but I was wondering if you had any specific headcanons I guess. Thanks :]
I wonder how long this ask has been in my inbox... sorry for taking so long! I think you might not even remember this ask either, but I'll answer it anyways, thanks!
Now-
I guess the most notable one would be that Erza goes from being the strict mediator of Natsu-Gray fights-- into someone that actively jumps into fights, too. She drifts from her role as the stern, serious knight into a playful enabler. I think this also happen because Lucy is in the fray now. I like to think that as a child, she was always put into the role of the mature, selfless, protective big sister of the group, and so continued it in Fairy Tail all the way to Phantom. After that (after she learned that she doesn't need to lead the battle, doesn't need to sacrifice, doesn't need to be strong, because she can be protected too by her friends--) she learns to let loose and be as cheeky and playful and whimsical as she likes. Like the young girl that used to want to do silly things like fly in the sky on a witch's broom, after TOH, she lets herself play and have fun. Her barrel-surfing at the bar during GMG is a good example.
Another point is her attitude towards love. (I have mixed feelings about Erza becoming local wingwoman in canon, but let's not talk about that today.) Before TOH, she didn't seem all that interested in romance anymore because of what happened to Jellal-- maybe a passing fancy, a sort of 'hey, that's cute' or 'oh, you're a couple, good for you' kind of detached attitude towards it. But after it, I'd love to think she starts jumping into being supportive of romances around her. She's much more perceptive to love between others because she's been holding back her own for so long thinking it was impossible, and she doesn't want anyone else to go through the same pain she did when the world kept getting in the way of her and Jellal's relationship. She naive and innocent, but when it comes to love, she's aware. She knows Alzack and Bisca like each other--- everyone does! She talks to Gray about returning Juvia's feelings. This insightful nature in Erza, borne of being heartbroken many times before--- is why Jerza's the only big four that actually have a long, genuine talk about how they want to advance their relationship each step of the way. This makes Jerza the most well-handled of the big four in my opinion. Not perfect, but it's a rocky, painful relationship that actually feels in some way like a realistic progression between two people trying to take a step towards a future together, considering if they're ready for a relationship before progressing.
Alright, enough Jerza, next.
Following on that Gray point. I really love the way Gray and Erza have a relationship where they truly let their hearts open to each other. Before TOH, it seems as if Gray is always chasing after Erza. From childhood, to TOH, Gray is always going after her, trying to break through her facade of strength to get one over her. It evolves into care after he sees her cry. Erza doesn't start returning this until Galuna, when she point her sword at him and threatens his loyalty Fairy Tail if he doesn't stop. She didn't try to see his perspective, and he threw it all back at her with the threat of 'kill me, then'. That was likely the first instance Erza truly felt Gray actually angry at her. He's been cranky, childishly competitive, and fearful of her--- but never so disappointed and broken. She sees Gray's anger with the same shock as Gray did, when he saw Erza's tears when they were young. Natsu's absent during their backstories, so Erza and Gray are the ones to hear each other out, (including Lucy, our insert character) and they are the ones to truly stand by each other and understand each other in their most vulnerable moments. They fight to get to that point in each other, and to me, they feel closer than they do to Natsu, even though Natsu is undeniably a third piece in their puzzle. It's just a sense that they always go together in a sentence, even though they're not a parallel like Natsu-Gray or Lucy-Levy. Even in Edolas, they come as a set piece naturally, as the two reliable saviours that show up in the nick of time. TOH is where Gray's chase for Erza finally reaches her heart. That's where the pinnacle of the Gray-Erza dynamic is reached, and they become a pair of perfect deuteragonists to Natsu and Lucy.
I'm sorry, as usual, I ramble too much and fail to answer the question.
I do think the easiest way to see changes in Erza after TOH is by how she really becomes a little more 'lax' in things. She joins them in messing around--- first seen in Fantasia, when she pulled out the gothloli. What she chose to show the world wasn't armour, which she's most proud of, she easily sheds the shell around her heart and puts on something silly, something she knows the general public will go crazy for, something brazen. And for some money she doesn't really need. It's just mischief, and she continues this trend into her fight with Evergreen, where she doesn't actually punish her for what she did. Even though she had all intentions to go through with consequences back on Galuna with Team Natsu, enough to abandon a crisis so they could learn their lesson about betraying the guild master. Evergreen truly betrayed the guild master, but she gets off with a slap on the wrist, because Erza learned the value of life, of unconditional care for friends, and being betrayed by Jellal didn't dull her ability to have grace for her enemies and forgive them.
Back to the point about Erza being the big sister, protector. She was the Jeanne d'arc of the tower-- the leader of the charge, the one that had to fight so everyone could continue, the one that motivated the battle to the end. Even though she didn't want to fight, she selflessly fought, for everyone's freedom. This continues all the way to TOH, but we most prominently see it in the first few arcs. She hears of a rumour in a bar and leads a team out to fight Eisenwald. She didn't have to, but she did, because she knew someone had to. She threw herself in front of Jupiter knowing it was reckless, and came back to fight Aria, too. She was ready to die when Jose had her. TOH even more so. She always charges ahead, thinking she was the strongest and thus she had to. But in Fantasia, that changes. Here, she willingly back down against Laxus despite knowing she was a much better fight--- she entrusts the role to Natsu instead, because she's learned that she doesn't need to fight the biggest enemies anymore. She knows she can fall back and watch someone else do the job instead. If that isn't growth from the pacifist that was forced to be Jeanne d'arc, I don't know what.
Alright, that was long. Glad to be back!

You act?! That's so cool! What have you acted in? Do you have a favorite monologue?!
I'm proud to have been Marion the Librarian, a candy cane (Nutcracker), an extra (so many plays), and the court jester (Once Upon A Mattress). I'm fuzzy on the others because HS was not my best time; I was too wasted to know what day it was most of the time but it strangely allowed me to memorize and regurgitate whole scripts with an ease I can no longer attain. It was really weird.
I did not continue acting after HS as my life took a sudden hard turn into domesticity just when i was beginning to get my shit together.
My favorite monolog was actually a tie between The Last Rung On the Ladder that my BFF prepped for UIL, and the monolog at the end of Izzy, Willy Nilly that I prepped for UIL. Both are raw and steeped in complex emotions. I adore the overplayed House of Blue Leaves but... after you've seen 5457 terrible to okay renditions, and you are inured to the 3-4 good to incredible ones.
Monologs are nifty, but everybody's just been chasing the perfection of Hamlet's soliloquy for a few hundred years with varying success. My jam is watching the interplay between people and the wickedly clever ways snappy dialog can be played. Think Mel Brooks.

i feel like a lot of the 'i hate kids' crowd would be more tolerant if they understood that due to a kid's limited experience of the world that 4 hour flight might just be the longest they've ever had to sit still for or that trapped finger might literally be the most pain they've ever felt in their short life or they might not have ever seen a person with pink hair ever so of course they want to touch it or nobody's told them yet that they can't run around the museum and they only just learned cheetahs are the fastest animals so of course they want to put that to the test. how were they supposed to know etc etc.
#like majority of the time kids are not just 'being naughty'. they have big feelings inside little bodies it's a lot#also like.#it should be illegal to dye your hair fun colours if you aren't prepared for kids in public to ask if youre related to a my little pony#EDIT: the notes on this post are an absolute cesspool. i don't care about your reasons for hating kids you sound like a disney villain
