Masking, YCMAL edition
So, after the general info on masking, here's how it specifically looks like and impacts some of the 'verse's characters.
I think I kind of need to preface this with the fact that a lot of my characters have neurodivergent traits because, well. I do. I don't know how a neurotypical person thinks, the same way a neurotypical person doesn't know how a neurodivergent person thinks. You can read about the experience, and, despite shitty stereotypes to the contrary, you can empathize with it, but the wiring of the brain is literally different.
So when I'm listing characters here as neurodivergent, I either a) set out to write them that way or b) in hindsight can't deny that their experiences are written through a very specifically neurodivergent lens. Someone not being explicitly labelled as ND doesn't necessarily mean they aren't, I just..really don't want to go back through my entire 'verse applying diagnoses the same way I happily slap an MBTI or enneagram or kindergarten teacher/assassin label on them, because that feels wrong.
But if you're neurodivergent and see something in a particular character that makes you feel seen, I'm not going to tell you 'nah man, they're actually neurotypical'. Especially because literally every single one of them was written by someone neurodivergent.
Anyway! Canonically ND characters and their masks:
David: masks extensively. Generally does his best for 'unobtrusive, pay no attention', unsure why it doesn't seem to work (mostly because he's talented and beautiful, so it seems less 'unobtrusive' and more 'I think I'm better than you', which isn't helped by the fact that often when the mask does slip, it's to show frustration, contempt, or disdain -- think at the All-Star Game his rookie year, or several points early on with Jake. Also does not help that he often does think he's better than people.)
Bryce: Still laughing at 'straightsona' used to describe Bryce out with his teammates, because it's perfect. His 'I don't care, I'm hot as shit, bitches love me' dickhead behaviour was him picking up those behaviours from popular peers and teammates over the years, partly mistaking that for the reason they were popular (rather than being seen as boy kings making them callous or arrogant), and partly viewing them as the exemplar of someone no one would predict was gay. Jared's worst enemy.
Speaking of, honourable mention to Raf Sanchez AND Julius Halla here, Jared's going around collecting neurodivergent loved ones all through IJ(aoe).
James: 'unobtrusive, pay no attention', much more successfully than David, partly because he has a mouthpiece in the form of Finn. His crashing after road trips is partly extended overstimulation and change, but it's also having to wear the mask more extensively, because he has much less time to himself, especially when he shared a room. (He's mostly unmasked with Finn, that's why Finn is his exception to a lot of No People things, but he wasn't at the beginning).
Holden: Also kind of 'I don't care, I'm hot as shit, bitches love me', but...ironically? He doesn't mask as much as the others, and because of that, he frequently drives away people who originally seem to like him and wonders why. Has been described as 'a lot'.
Fiona: Literally will not leave the house without a full face of makeup and a pair of heels or she'll feel exposed and vulnerable, and putting her make up on is how she prepares to be Outside Fiona. She's very perky and friendly at work. The second she gets home it's an 'uggggh' moment and straight into the shower to decompress/literally unmask. She's more aware than any of the guys that she's putting on a performance, partly because she grew up with all those 'girls are expected to be...' followed by a list of things she definitively wasn't. Has also been described as 'a lot'.
Finn: And How May I Be of Service To You Today?
Now this is where it gets kind of interesting because like -- people often have facades. That's not a neurodivergent only thing. People can be fake, or posture, or pretend to be something they're not. Mike, for example, will lean into the big macho asshole when he's put on the defensive, Willy is Always Performing, Thomas is sunshine even when he doesn't really feel like being that, Robbie will play the buffoon to make people laugh if he thinks they need it, half of Joey's rants are playing to the cheap seats.
Like, there's a difference between pretending you're somebody else sometimes, or behaving inauthentically, and full on 'yeah, they're masking'.
But Georgie is masking. Georgie is, at all times, evaluating his surroundings, monitoring people's emotions and reactions (especially to him), and behaving in the manner he thinks is most likely to lead to his being liked. And he was already doing that when Robbie met him, but it's intensified significantly since.
I think that's where the biggest difference lies between some of the above ND characters and Georgie? David, for example, doesn't care if he's liked (like, yes he does, but also...no). The mask is for safety/to minimize vulnerability. David's in particular was tweaked to get praise and avoid criticism from his parents (didn't work), teachers, and coaches (worked much better), not so much for his peers.
But Georgie's isn't for safety. Georgie doesn't manage his behaviour to avoid harm, Georgie wants people to like him. And he's discovered that people don't seem to like him when he does certain things, or acts certain ways, or needs things from them, so he just...doesn't do those things.
Finn's interesting because he has both forms. Please like him it'll break his heart if you don't.

charles and edwin's enneagram types
ok so I’ve been seeing a lot of really good analysis on charles and edwin’s internal motivations and how they tend to react to difficult situations. I’ve also had a deep interest in the enneagram for several years, and I just started reading a book about it, and my brain immediately connected it to DBD. so here are my thoughts on what charles and edwin’s enneagram types might be, how this influences many different aspects of their personalities, how their types complement each other really well, and how they’ve supported each other to be the best versions of their true selves.
What is the Enneagram?
More than just a personality type, the nine types of the Enneagram describe the “basic archetypes of humanity’s tragic flaws, primary fears, and unconscious needs.” Most Enneagram authors agree that we are born with a dominant type, and that this type “determines the ways we learn to adapt to our early childhood environment.”
The types are not static — there are different “levels of development” that describe how each type behaves when they are psychologically healthy or unhealthy. There is also something called the direction of integration/disintegration — each type behaves like another type when they are under stress or in growth (e.g. type Nines behave like Sixes when they are stressed, and Threes when they are in growth). So two people with the same type may not behave the same way as each other, and a person throughout their own life may grow and change, but they will still align with that dominant type.
All this to say, the Enneagram is a really useful tool for self-understanding and for having empathy for yourself and others, because it gives a lot of insight into a person’s core fears and underlying motivations.
charles - type nine
A big part of Charles’s character arc in season one was the repression and denial of his own anger. This was the biggest clue for me that he might be a type Nine.
There are so many examples of this, especially in episode 4:
the scene with Charles and Crystal on the lighthouse where they talk about the events of the devlin house (Crystal: Charles, could we just for one second talk about what happened? Charles: Crystal, I don’t have anything else to say. yes, that guy was horrible. yes, my dad was horrible. yes, I got angry. now I’m fine. Crystal: you don’t have to keep things bottled up)
the scene (1) when Charles is upset that Edwin hid the fact that he saw the cat king again, Edwin directly asks “why are you getting so angry?” and Charles immediately falls quiet
the scene where Charles attacks night nurse — he can no longer hold back his anger, and his friends are shocked (2). It is unusual for him to express his anger like this.
Ok, so why do Nines tend to be out of touch with their anger? Type Nines are “the peacemaker”, described as easygoing, reassuring, and agreeable. The basic fear of the type Nine is of loss and separation (3), and their basic desire is to have inner stability, peace of mind. “They want everything to go smoothly and be without conflict, but they can also tend to be complacent, simplifying problems and minimizing anything upsetting.” Nines want to avoid conflict; they have seen from past experiences that anger can be a huge source of conflict, so they learn to repress their anger.
This could also be part of the reason why Charles decides to stay (4) with Edwin when they first meet. Going with Death would mean having to fully accept the fact that he is dead, and that’s upsetting to him. Nines are also known as “chameleons” and tend to mirror/blend with those they are around (a way of avoiding conflict) — “being a separate self, an individual who must assert themselves against others, is terrifying to Nines. They would rather melt into someone else or quietly follow their idyllic daydreams.” So it makes sense that staying with Edwin feels like the safest option to Charles.
Some other scenes that make more sense through the lens of Charles being a type Nine:
Any time Edwin tries to initiate a serious conversation, Charles’s immediate reaction is to downplay things, and give a lighthearted response in an attempt to minimize tension (ep 6 (5), ep 7 (6)). There’s also that flicker of emotion on his face before he promptly represses it and tries to present a more reassuring reaction (ep 6 (7))
“Every (8) day, I’m fuckin’ smiling. ‘Cause who else is gonna be the one holding it together and keeping spirits up? … What good am I even doing? I couldn’t stop Devlin from murdering his family over and over, I can’t stop Crystal from hurting, I can’t stop whatever it is that’s going on with you, I can’t stop anything! I sure as hell couldn’t stop my dad from beating the shit out of me. No matter how good I was.” — This directly points to his desire to create harmony in his environment (and taking on way too much personal responsibility (9) for it)
The scene in ep 5 where Charles admits he is afraid (10) that he’s like his dad, and Edwin’s response (11) — this is a really important moment where Charles finally allows himself to acknowledge his feelings, and Edwin learns to respond with patience and mirrors the reassurance that Charles himself so freely gives.
edwin - type one
One of the things we learn about Edwin in the very first episode of season one is that he deeply cares about solving cases and helping others.
“Our (12) deaths didn’t matter. No one ever solved them. Now you are sharp and fun, but this is not a game. We are solving cases that would never be solved. Police don’t know what to do with a fucking witch! We didn’t matter. He and I. So these cases matter. They have to matter!”
Type One is “The Reformer”; they are described as principled, purposeful, and self-controlled. The basic fear of the type One is that they are corrupt, evil, and defective (which makes it even more devastating that he spent 70 years in hell), and their basic desire is to be good, have integrity, and be balanced.
This description above reminds me a LOT of the conversation he has with the cat king in episode 4:
Cat King: Why do these cases of complete strangers matter to you so much? Edwin: Not that you would understand, but I help ghosts whose cases would go unsolved. I right wrongs. [after Cat King forces him to tell the “truth”] Edwin: I’m also doing as much good as I can, so that eventually if I have to go back to hell, I can make my case for leniency … I’m ashamed. It’s selfish.”
A lot of Edwin’s repression definitely has to do with the time period he’s from, but I think it also points to that type One desire to be “good”.
Does this not perfectly describe Edwin’s entire journey (13) of self-discovery in season one? See also, his remarks about emotions (14) and human connection (15).
Lastly, I’ll link to this post (16), as well as the fact that it took me a lot of thinking to figure out that Edwin was a One — he does not fit the usual stereotype of a One. He’s not overly perfectionistic or highly critical, he’s not afraid of making mistakes. Instead, we see a One at a healthy level — principled, a person of integrity, who is able to see that imperfections are part of perfection, who is able to work on undoing those patterns of repression. Additionally, type Ones tend to look like Sevens when they are in a direction of growth — Sevens are described as spontaneous and playful, constantly seeking new and exciting experiences. We definitely start to see this side of Edwin, and I think part of why he is able to grow in this direction is because his friendship with Charles has given him an environment where he feels safe and comfortable.
charles & edwin - the relationship between Ones and Nines
Even more interesting, there is a section on the Enneagram site that discusses relationship dynamics between different Enneagram types. This part highlights how the One and the Nine have different ways of reacting to stress and how they express (or don't express) anger:
For Edwin, this perfectly captures his prickliness and snippiness in the first few episodes towards Crystal.
And for Charles, this lines up with his emotions (17)/reactions starting from episode 3 in the devlin house and how he tries to ignore his emotions and repress his anger
Lastly, on a more positive note, this part really describes their partnership and synergy perfectly:
I also think this ties in to Charles’s direction of growth — as a type Nine, Charles would look like a type Three in his direction of growth. Threes are described as adaptable, driven, and energetic (as well as attractive and charming). I think he exhibits all of these traits -- being friends with Edwin for the past 30 years has definitely supported Charles in this direction of growth.
Overall, I think all of this really speaks to how realistic and complex these characters are. If you read this whole thing, THANK YOU. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on this, if you agree with these types, if you have any more examples you can think of in the show, if you think they fit better with a different type, etc.!! And if you’re interested in learning more about the Enneagram I’ll leave some sources below.

BG3 Headcanons Nobody Asked For.
Part 3: Enneagrams.
If you’ve never heard of the Enneagram, it’s a personality type system. You can learn more here.
I love the Enneagram (helped with some serious family healing) because it is in-depth, but I’m gonna to do a little “fly-over” of each type and who I feel best fits each. Feel free to give other types you think each embody!
The layout: Motivations // Core Fears
Enneagram 1: Minthara
Want to be right, to strive higher and improve everything, to be consistent with their ideals, to justify themselves, to be beyond criticism // being corrupted, defective
She is deeply upset that she broke her oath to Lloth, even if it wasn’t her fault.
Instead of seeking Lloth for forgiveness or redemption, she believes that she is too corrupted and would rather be an oath breaker than face her old goddess.
She does not like being wrong
Is often right which justifies her desire to never be seen as wrong
She is organized, orderly, and fastidious; maintains high standards — earned her place as the grey warden
She is critical and perfectionistic (cue my fave companion analysis conversation lol)
When first out of the cult she is moody and angry (and a bit irrational about her vengeance and her circumstances)
As she grows, you get ‘silly’ Minthy, the drow comedienne (“it was a beautiful webbing” lol)
Enneagram 2: Shadowheart
Want to be loved, to express their feelings for others, to be needed and appreciated, to get others to respond to them, to vindicate their claims about themselves // being unwanted, unworthy of love
“My Lady Shar must love me”
Not to mention her feelings of insecurity being reinforced by the stupid rats in shar’s temple: “unworthy!”
She is the mom/nurse companion, thinks her servitude is how she will be wanted
Acts aggressive and stand offish (leaning into 8 stress response) when feeling threatened/angry
She starts off prideful, deceptive, and self-deceptive and grows to be self-sacrificing, nurturing, and generous
As she grows she also becomes more comfortable in herself and finding ways to express herself outside of others (new hair!)
Enneagram 3: Gale
Want to be affirmed, to distinguish themselves from others, to have attention, to be admired, and to impress others // being worthless
50% of romance arch is him trying to impress you so much you pick him despite you consistently romancing other characters
Other 50% is him trying to impress you with trying to be a god so you will stay with him
Someone made him feel worthless as a kid so he summoned a fireball and a tressum and then finally got attention from a goddess so now he has to continue to prove his magic is worthwhile
After being cast out by Mystra, he doesn’t recognize it’s because he basically tried to give her the weaves version of a Trojan horse virus instead of him being “deficient” or a “failure” in some way. Sadly, the dumbest wizard in the realms solidifies this belief by saying “you know where you failed”
He was the definition of apathetic and disengaged the year in isolation (3s need people badly) when he was taken and started healing he embodied what he had always wanted to present: authentic, compassionate, and more easy going.
Ambitious is the name of the game! He would be the god of all 3s.
Enneagram 4: Astarion
Want to express themselves and their individuality, to create and surround themselves with beauty, to maintain certain moods and feelings, to withdraw to protect their self-image, to take care of emotional needs before attending to anything else, to attract a “rescuer” // have no identity or personal significance
Despite having not seen his face in 200 years and having only attention because of it you’d think he rather be ugly so he isn’t used for his body but nope he needs to be reassured that he is in-fact still gorgeous
A terrible combination is a narcissist abuser and a partner who will do anything to hold onto a sliver of themselves
“I called on all the gods but no one answered”; willing to entertain new kinds of slavery (basically prostituting himself to tav from his pov, entertaining Raphael, and the tadpole) if it meant being saved
All about the ✨aesthetic✨
At his worst he does things to manipulate to keep people close (believing they won’t stay otherwise) and is moody and violent (emotional turbulence of getting approvals and disapprovals almost at the same time sometimes lololol)
At his best is balanced, introspective, and vulnerable (vulnerable in a way that's not to garner sympathies/manipulations)
He starts off very hopeless, self-destructive, and very indulgent (has addictive tendencies for coping; Minthy's observation is excellent), taking everything personally and is paranoid
Is a creative (embroiders!)
Enneagram 5: Jaheira
Want to possess knowledge, to understand the environment, to have everything figured out as a way of defending the self from threats from the environment // Being useless, helpless, or incapable
She is epically tired and living in survivor's guilt in a leadership role, so she will seem like an 8 taking charge (this woman is a researcher and explorer with a sense of justice, just take a look around her incredible study!)
Secretive and independent are the titles of a 5 and she embodies both. Once again: her basement lair.
She stuck it out for 20+ years in the Shadowlands because she is a problem solver and won't leave until the problem (Ketheric you wrinkly ass) is solved. (Also someone explain to me how she is gone for 20 years yet 2 little human kids know her like she's their mommy? Come on larian....)
She is high strung and intense, yet an inspiration. There is a reason even Halsin is in awe. She is a force. He had to leave to survive, yet she was the one who found Isobel and created a safe haven. This woman might feel useless and isolated, but she is resourceful.
She is the ultimate defender, which makes her the best Harper. She studies her opponents before she attacks and she uses her warriors like chess pieces who rarely fail. The Harpers are known to be efficient because she is efficient. She wastes no lives. She needs them all.
Enneagram 6: Wyll
Want to have security, to feel supported by others, to have certitude and reassurance, to test the attitudes of others toward them, to fight against anxiety and insecurity // being without support and guidance
They are known for being the ultimate friend and buddy. They are the ride or dies. Wyll is the companions' favorite.
He is engaging not because he was socially trained, he is that way naturally.
He is both rebellious, but also not a risk taker. He defied his father to be warlock, yet won't hop on the tadpole train for power. There has to be a positive payout for the risk.
He can be one the of the most encouraging, but also one of the meanest.
He wants to be recognized. He likes his moniker. He will act like it was gifted to him, but he leans into it and hides behind it arrogantly. ("My friends call me Wyll", so everyone else has to know him as the Blade FIRST.) He thinks it hides his true failure, which is that he has to depend on a devil for any of the power his moniker gives him. ("A story of two men" when you find out he's basically a prince... as if that is a bad thing. Gods. Face palm.)
He is wary of authority figures and most literally chose to be his own authority by becoming the Blade and not the next Ulder.
He is a champion of the people, the bards aren't being paid by his PR team. 6s fight injustices big time. They may not defy EVERY authority, but they will stand up to them to help others (8s take a seat you're coming...)
In a safe space, he is laid back and fun. (Dancing with tav around the fire!)
6s do a really good job at saving face during stress, even if they are crumbling inside. (He totally is and I highly suggest you don't let his dad die.)
Enneagram 7: Karlach
Want to maintain their freedom and happiness, to avoid missing out on worthwhile experiences, to keep themselves excited and occupied, to avoid and discharge pain // being deprived and in pain
Karlach wants to taste, touch, see, smell, and hear everything life has to offer.
Getting trapped in Avernus was literal hell for her. It is an empty place where she was on a leash. Getting to literally touch grass is life-giving.
She can endure a lot, but if she could just turn it off, she would.
Her screaming "I'M FREE" even if Zariel is hunting her (versus Astarion's constant paranoia despite also being free)
She struggles with impatience and impulsiveness. She literally runs from her fears.
With growth she leans into true contentment, even if it means living in Avernus.
She is overtly optimistic even in the face of death (would rather die than go back to Avernus and is willing to back it up with wanting to use her time left to live to the fullest even tadpoled)
Enneagram 8: Lae’zel
Want to be self-reliant, to prove their strength and resist weakness, to be important in their world, to dominate the environment, and to stay in control of their situation // being harmed or controlled by others
Unlike Minthara who knows she has weaknesses, but has to overcome them, Lae'zel believes that she has to do everything to never be weak. She can't abide weakness.
Githyanki are conquerors and she must dominate all her foes and cirmcumstances.
They fight against oppressors (ghaik) to stay in control. She will fight Vlakkith once she realizes her queen is just another controlling oppressor.
You have to roll a wisdom or persuasion check to get her to be vulnerable or else she's not unless you're romancing her. And to romance her, you have to let her dominate you or you show your dominance. Literally.
She keeps things close to the chest until her proverbial armor begins to melt after the incident at the creche. She is terrified underneath it all. She is about to become the thing she hates most and her own people would rather kill her. She is no longer worthy of being alive. She stood her ground and made her place in pursuit of becoming one of the greatest only to be made weakest by the tadpole.
She starts off being completely self-interested and isn't willing to help others, but by the end, she is using her talents and self-confidence to save her people and the Sword Coast (she deserves a line like Shadowheart about "you know who I never cared about? Desperate people.")
Enneagram 9: Halsin
Want to create harmony in their environment, to avoid conflicts and tension, to preserve things as they are, to resist whatever would upset or disturb them // Of loss and separation
When asked if he will miss being First Druid and his answer is "Gods no!" is on brand 9. They make fantastic leaders, yet would rather not deal with the politics of it all.
He, like Karlach, is a runner. Even though he wrapped his avoidance in a "I must cure the shadowlands" bow, he saw a chance to get out of the Enclave's issues he felt he couldn't fix to go somewhere he felt he would be needed more.
A big complaint of Kagha's is that Halsin was inattentive. He was disengaged. He was clocked out internally while trying to give everyone what they wanted to "keep the peace". Only 4 other druids in the busy grove are against Kagha on this.
He defers responsibilities to have his own peace. He asks a lot of the companions for his own quest, while not joining them on theirs (I know this is a Larian issue, but there are so many lines with Halsin that are "Wait, why am I doing this for you?" and "Is he finally joining us?" indicating he was just chilling while the rest adventured)
He spends most of Act 2 trying to make up for a major loss. He clings to tav because he doesn't want to lose them too. The more he grows with the group, the more autonomous and self-assured he gets. Especially after reuniting with Thaniel.
He becomes one of the best and beloved companions as he heals: 'Optimistic, reassuring, supportive: have a healing and calming influence—harmonizing groups, bringing people together: a good mediator, synthesizer, and communicator.'
I know I left Minsc out but he’s a 7 from what I can tell! He’s a fun add on companion, but I’m going to omit him from this line up.
This was A LOT. But such food for thought. Thank you for enduring my mindFULL imaginings this time. This could have been so much more detailed but it's already so long.

Me: draws a siren literally plotting murder
Also me: sighs “Wow, this is so romantic!”
Suffering from Epic: The Musical is the kind of song that completely messes with your head. The siren gives you everything you think you want—everything. She becomes Penelope, Odysseus’s wife, and suddenly, he’s not fighting through wars or monsters. Instead, he’s standing face-to-face with the dream he’s been chasing all this time. She’s begging him to join her in the water, to leave everything behind and be with her forever.
But Odysseus? He’s not fooled. He’s onto her. He sees through the illusion. She’s pretending to be Penelope, offering him the one thing he’s been fighting for all along—the appearance of his wife, and yet, it’s all just a trap. He’s using her. He’s using her manipulation to get closer to the information he needs to finally return to Penelope, to the woman he truly loves.
And God, when he sings “The things I’d do for you,” it’s like a gut punch. There’s such longing in his voice. He’s willing to sacrifice everything for his wife, and that kind of devotion? God, give me a man who would burn the world down for me like that. The things I’d do for him…
But here’s the thing—the surface of this song is so romantic. It sounds like a dream. “Come play with me in the water.” That sweet, almost innocent request. That feeling of being wanted, needed, loved in the purest sense. But underneath it all, it’s a death sentence. The siren, even though she appears to be Penelope, is trying to lure him to his death.
And here’s where my mind goes: how much of this is like maladaptive daydreaming? The siren’s voice is seductive because it offers the dream—that idealized version of love, the one you’ve been imagining in your head, the one you’re always chasing but can never quite hold onto. I’m so guilty of it—falling in love with the vision of someone in my mind, or a fictional character, the fantasy of them that I’ve created. But the problem is, that love isn’t real. You can’t love someone who doesn’t exist, and in doing that, you rob yourself of living your actual life. It’s like dissociation: the dream world feels so much easier, so much more comforting than the real one.
The siren, in a way, represents that distorted vision of love. She offers everything you’ve ever wanted, but at what cost? Sure, it’s romantic, but it’s toxic. It’s a trap, and the real love—what Odysseus has with Penelope—is what he’s fighting to return to. Even though the dream looks perfect, he knows it’s not.
But as an Enneagram 2, as someone who wants to love so deeply that I’d take on others’ suffering, I get it. It’s that temptation to make someone’s pain mine, to save them, to turn their suffering into something I can manage because maybe, just maybe, they’ll love me in return. It’s romantic in the most disturbed way—yeah, but also, it’s human. And it’s real.
In the end, I’d take the suffering from anyone I loved—friends, family, anyone—because I’d do anything for them. And maybe, just maybe, that’s the real power of love: the willingness to carry that pain and still try to make something beautiful out of it. So long as you don’t kill both of you by drowning in love.

Clone OCs: Dusk Company
I made these guys waaay back in March (?) of last year and for some reason never posted them here-
Randomly I decided to go back to them because I think I stopped working on them simply because I couldn't decide on a name for the group/color scheme but I got ideas and the time/motivation to digitalize my initial doodles, so introducing members of Dusk Company!
Dusk Company specializes in (surprise, surprise) stealth missions, thriving in the darkness and all of that. They're great to have when you need a retrieval or assassination mission done! Still working on their Jedis though.
Check out Dawn Company as well!
Close ups and brief Introductions under the cut!
Commander Milo:
- Just thought it would be a neat name - Mom Friend (Squad jokingly calls him 'Commander Mom-lo") - 2W1 on Enneagram - Constantly stressed and worried over his men (it's a wonder he doesn't already have gray hairs) - A very good listener - Hanging on by a thread guys please do not push him, he is one really bad mission away from completely snapping
Captain Eclipse:
- Eclipse because of night and also because he likes to 'eclipse' people and show off whenever he can - He's like subconsciously a show off though, he doesn't really mean to, it just happens - 3W2 on Enneagram - Has a tough time talking about his feelings and likes to pretend nothing is wrong and will laugh anything off - On a completely unrelated note, totally having nothing to do with all his bottled up feelings, but does someone want to hold him tenderly? He just wants to be held. - Incredibly stubborn to the point where it's almost reckless; has cheated death probably four times now
Ranger:
- Just thought it would be a cool name - Sharpshooter - Mute, uses sign language to communicate - Tongue piercing and eyebrow slit just because - Cool older vod kind of guy; will give you candy before dinner and won't tell your parents kind of guy - 6W5 on Enneagram - Really great at keeping secrets - One of the more reasonable clones in the Company and keeps the others out of trouble (if only they'd listen and take his advice)
Chip:
- Got his name because he's a technology buff - Was born with a mutation in his eyes for some reason and now needs cybernetics (like Wolffe) to see - Has orange tattoos just because why not? - 4W3 on the Enneagram - Doesn't like to talk much and will talk when needed (so he gets along with Ranger pretty well) - Eyes give him an advantage in the dark (sees a little better than his brothers) - Eyes are also reflective when you shine a light on them in the dark and this has scared a few of his brothers shitless as a result
Clicks + Buttons:
- A set, do not separate - Clicks has a nervous tic that causes him to make a 'clicking' noise, hence the name - Buttons likes to push buttons, both in a literal and metaphorical sense - Buttons is their pilot (he's not a great one but in his defense they haven't died from a crash landing yet) - Clicks is a 6W5 - Buttons is a 7W6 - Fives and Echo type of dynamic (Clicks is the only one who can tolerate Buttons) - Dye each other's hair
Tats:
- Clone Medic - Got his name because of all his tattoos and because he's the one to go to to get them done (he's got a ready steady hand) - Really chill kind of guy, has an incredible amount of patience - 9W8 on Enneagram - Keeps the Company together (is usually the voice of reason outside of Ranger) - Whattaman wattaman; knows how to treat people right - Extensive hair care routine
ARC Trooper Shark:
- Thinks sharks are cool (pretend there's sharks in Star Wars) + used to bite people as a cadet - Are his teeth sharpened? Maybe. - Not much of a conversationalist; mainly speaks in grumbles, growls, and groans - 3W4 on the Enneagram - Usually grumpy and tired (he's gotta put up with all the other knuckleheads of his company) - Honestly has no idea how to interact with others in a normal way - Is a little off-putting but I swear he's trying his best. Maybe.
ARC Trooper Leo:
- No real reason why he's named Leo, just thought it was a cool clone name - He's an ARC trooper and sometimes people question how and why - A little cocky and stuck-up but means well - Loves his time off (don't ask him what he does during it) - 7W8 on Enneagram - Dyes his hair that color; tends to dye it different browns/reds at a time - Got clawed by a juvenile Nexu once (hence facial scars)

I like your art!! Now I'm curious about the dynamics you posted, especially the last one, with Alice's "undying loyalty"!! I just love her so much, and would like to know more about her and why's she's smiling sadly at him like that!! 🙏♥️
so, i tried to put my response in words, but it didn't go well (;∀; ) so i decided to do some sketches.
it's not really coherant, so apologies for that, but here it is!! also, strap in this is gonna be loooong
some bullet points:
Felix becomes the sole heir to Applesoft after Ted "runs away" from the family
he and Austin get into a fight which results in Felix being home-schooled and isolated from his peers.
Felix overworks himself and is exhausted
Alice is always willing to help those even if she doesn't completely trust them
Alice meets Felix at his window on the nights where his parents are out of town, just to keep him company
i also decided to pair up your comments if that's okay!!
Alice
she's not one to put her trust in other very easily. it takes time for her to open up and for others to understand her completely. but, once she trusts someone Alice devotes herself to helping that person in anyway she can.
think of her as Enneagram 2 to the near highest degree. she's selfless to a fault and that results in a lot of her own destructive behaviours to shine through, even if Alice isn't willing to acknowledge it.
Alice doesn't trust Felix, but she can see him struggling with a lot of internal and external feelings. she may not be good with handling her own wants, needs and feelings but damnit she can't sit by.
especially since she's known Felix for so long.
Felix
a selfish kid that never really had any good influences in his life. throughout the years Felix has stuck his nose up at the group and anyone he deemed beneath him. It seemed he had everything and nothing could go wrong.
until a heated argument with Cindy, who he dated, had resulted in her cutting ties with him. from there it started a downward spiral for Felix of trying to prove himself to everyone around him. Austin got under his skin during their sophomore year, resulting in him and Ted getting pulled from school. a few months later, Ted "ran away" and Felix was left to pick up the slack.
the stress of being perfect and keeping appearances, was getting to Felix, which resulted in him humouring Alice whenever she visited him. soon, he grew to like her company and missed being able to talk to someone his age again. it was then that Felix decided to be a better person, it's a long road, but he's going to try.
i associate Felix mostly with enneagram 3 to the highest degree possible, maybe even leaning into enneagram 5. he's very work focused and isolates himself from the world, not because he wants to but because his parents expect him to.
i'm still trying to put everything together so things are subject to change as i iron out the details lol
[image descriptions in ALT text and under read more]
[Start ID: 6 digital sketches of mainly Felix and Alice from the Kindergarten games. The first sketch has Felix standing behind his mother and father, while the following sketch as Austin grabbing a fist-full of Felix's shirt and sneering at him, they seem to have just fought. Next is of Felix looking exhausted and Alice asking if she can help someone off screen. Finally we have Felix standing at his window looking shocked, and Alice sitting in a tree smiling at him.
a screenshot from Tumblr's comment section from user 'tozzy.' the first one reads: "Aaalice!! I'd like to know about Alice!! :3" then they rely to themselves with: "And Felix I guess 🙄/Silly". End ID]

Stardew Valley MBTI x Enneagram: Abigail
Following my last post about the Stardew marriage candidates and their MBTI types, I've been learning more about Enneagram, how it pairs with MBTI, and how it changes some of the typical characteristics of each type.
The Enneagram and MBTI complement each other wonderfully, providing greater depth and understanding of how a person interacts with the world [Cognitive Functions] and their motivations why [Core Desire/Core Fear].
Here are my thoughts on Abigail's MBTI and Enneagram pairing.
Abigail - ENFP 7w8: “The Opportunist”
“ENFPs are the campaigners of the MBTI typology. They bring good vibes and excitement that’s hard to ignore. You’ll also agree that their happiness and charisma can be infectious. It’s not a surprise then that most ENFPs identify as type 7 in the enneagram of personality.
[ENFP 7w8s] enjoy a good adventure and good conversations. They can also easily be the life of the party when they are excited. However, having a type 8 as their wing makes things a bit interesting, [creating] a lot of changes in this type of ENFP.” - Personality Hunt
Abigails’s Core Desire: To be happy
The core desire of the ENFP 7w8 is to be happy. ENFPs need consistent intellectual stimulation and external engagement to be truly content.
Bringing their ideas to life is incredibly important to them, and the 7w8 tries to achieve this by reaching their goals and getting everything they desire.
“The birds were happily chirping today. They're too simple to understand the future. It's better to be like them, isn't it?”
“I always loved this place, long before you moved in. Now I can explore the farm whenever I want!”
“There's always something new happening on our farm... I love it.”
"The sounds of the night are louder out here. I'll never stop enjoying that."
“It's pretty cool that we have a cave on our property. It's something I always dreamed about.”
Abigail’s Core Fear: To be deprived
The core fear of the ENFP 7w8 is to be deprived. Because they lead with Extroverted Intuition [Ne] ENFPs get bored quickly and easily if they aren't given enough freedom and flexibility to explore new ideas and chase after their dreams [both old and new].
Because of their fear of deprivation, ENFP 7w8s do everything in their power to ensure they'll never be in that position.
“Hey, this is my favorite magazine! My Dad won't let me have a subscription, so I have to get it on the black market like this...”
"Don't tell anyone, but I snuck into the old community center last night... I think it's haunted!
"I heard you've been exploring the old mines. That sounds like fun! ...I'm working up the courage to go there myself...”
*sigh*... Can you believe my parents were ever young? They don't understand my perspective at all. I know, I know... they grew up in a different era, with different values. It still ticks me off sometimes, okay?”
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How Enneagram 7w8 changes typical ENFP behaviour:
New Strengths
1. More Direct
"ENFPs are feelers. This means that they use emotions as their first point of call. However, you get another vibe with ENFP 7w8s. While they retain their emotional intensity, they can now express these feelings directly and clearly. This can make the ENFP better public speakers." - Personality Hunt
Abigail isn't afraid to speak her mind or speak up when her values are threatened. Although she can come across as blunt in some instances, her emotional awareness allows her to temper her responses so that she still gets her point across without going overboard.
Examples:
“Hey. Sorry in advance if I say anything rude. I didn't get much sleep last night. What do you want?”
“I felt like making some soup for dinner. I hope it's not too disgusting.”
“I hope you'll still like me when I'm old and shriveled. It's going to happen some day!”
"Stop trying to make me feel guilty. I appreciate that you and Dad are helping me out, but expecting me to dress the way you want is ridiculous. I'm not a little girl anymore, Mom.”
2. More Likely to be Assertive [ENFP-A]
ENFP 7w8s are more likely to be Assertive [A] than Turbulent [T]. Because of their more direct nature, they can come across as opinionated or assertive. This can make them seem more determined and focused in the long term.
More information about the ENFP-A can be found here.
Examples:
"Ew, I hope I don't get a tan this summer."
"I used to think Pelican Town was kinda drab, but lately I'm starting to love some things about it."
“No matter how much we clean, the house keeps getting dirty again. I guess farms are kind of dirty.”
“Congratulations on the marriage. I guess this means Sebastian won't be moving to the city like he always talked about. That'll be nice. I'd be kind of sad if I never saw him again. We've always been good friends.”
3. More Disciplined
ENFPs aren't typically known for their discipline and following through on plans or projects.
Their Extroverted Intuition [Ne] constantly makes connections and seeks out new opportunities, and an idea that once had merit can no longer seem relevant or the best use of time, especially when more information and opportunities are made available later on.
Though ENFP 7w8s also struggle with procrastination and follow-through, this is reduced thanks to their 8 wing; however, the extent of their follow-through will depend on the strength of their wing.
Examples:
"I'm still mad that you beat me at the egg hunt last year. You'd better start practicing..."
"Feeling pretty good about the egg hunt, huh? Well, next year you won't be so lucky...
“Hey, the egg festival is tomorrow. I'm sorry, but I won't go easy on you because we're married! I plan on winning that egg hunt. Go ahead and try to beat me.”
"I guess you're wondering why I'm in the graveyard at this hour... Well, I'm here because it's the best place in town to find some privacy. And I'm all sweaty because I've been practicing my swordsmanship.”
4. More Ambitious
ENFPs are the adventurers and campaigners of the MBTI world. While they have big dreams, they don't crave financial success or riches. This is also true for ENFP 7w8s, but they realize that having money or power is one way to achieve the life they want. Thus, ENFP 7w8s tend to be much more ambitious when compared to typical ENFPs.
Abigail doesn't seem ambitious in the traditional financial sense, but her ambition is clear when it comes to making a name for herself: she wants to do something memorable with her life.
Examples:
“See? You understand why I'm out here, then. I've lived in the valley my whole life, but I've never really done anything memorable. I want to go on an adventure!”
5. ENTP Look-Alike
"ENFPs and ENTPs are cousin types. Thus, it’s only natural that they look alike. However, ENFP 7w8 will look a lot and behave like the ENTP to an extreme level.
They will be more rational, charismatic, and argumentative than your normal ENFP. Thus, a lot of ENFP 7w8 can easily misidentify themselves as ENTPs." - Personality Hunt
ENFPs and ENTPs have the same dominant and inferior functions: Extroverted Intuition [Ne] and Introverted Sensing [Si]. However, the main difference comes from their 'sandwiched' functions: ENFP ENTP
Extroverted Intuition [Ne] Extroverted Intuition [Ne] Introverted Feeling [Fi] Introverted Thinking [Ti] Extroverted Thinking [Te] Extroverted Feeling [Fe] Introverted Sensing [Si] Introverted Sensing [Si]
On the surface, Abigail may appear to be an ENTP. However, when considering the cognitive functions and their application between ENFPs and ENTPs, Abigail uses Fi much more readily to determine and defend her values and Te to implement her values in real life [ENFP], rather than use Ti to ensure her decisions are logically consistent and Fe for external feedback as to whether her logic is taking other people's values and opinions into consideration [ENTP].
For this reason, I believe there is strong evidence that Abigail is an ENFP 7w8 rather than an ENTP, though she does share qualities of both types.
Examples:
“Hey! I'm just debating what I should do today. I'm not used to having this much freedom!”
“Oh, that's right... I heard someone new was moving onto that old farm. It's kind of a shame, really. I always enjoyed exploring those overgrown fields by myself.”
“Disgusting... I love it!”
"Whoa... Where'd you find this? The workmanship is fascinating...It's a little too rusty to use, but I'll add it to my collection."
“Sebastian mentioned that he heard strange music while having dinner the other night...I didn't tell him it was us! It seemed better to keep it a mystery.”
“I may fight with my parents a lot, but I know they're just looking out for me. They're doing what they think is best. I dunno why I'm saying this to you. Don't tell anyone.”
6. More Focused and Determined
"Their wing beings a steely attitude to the ENFP. Thus, they will be more focused and determined. This might show in school, the workplace, or even at home.
ENFP 7w8s are go-getters and will achieve their goals or get close to doing so. You’ll see a clear difference between this ENFP and the stereotypical ENFP you have probably heard about." - Personality Hunt
Examples:
“*sigh*... so I've been playing 'Journey of the Prairie King' for hours and I can't even beat the first level...”
"Hey, I finally beat the first level of Journey Of The Prairie King! Watching you play helped a lot.”
“Maybe I'll boot up Journey Of The Prairie King today... one of these days I swear, I'll beat the whole game”
7. Less Impulsive
ENFPs aren't the best at considering long-term implications when jumping into something.
Their Extroverted Intuition [Ne] is great at taking advantage of opportunities in the here and now; however, their Introverted Sensing [Si] function is the weakest in their stack, meaning they aren't the best at examining past experiences to help navigate potential pitfalls in the future.
This can cause them a lot of trouble and lead to repeating avoidable outcomes that could have been prevented with some reflection. Depending on the strength of their wing, ENFP 7w8s will be slightly less impulsive and more considerate of the consequences when putting themselves in a position that may lead to the loss of power or control.
Examples:
“Whoa, that's a creepy looking book... I love it! *Flip* *flip* *flip*... Ooh... It's full of monsters...I'll have to study this before going into the caves... Thanks!”
“If I knew how to use a sword I would be exploring those caves by the mountain lake right now. It's probably nice and cool in there.”
New Weaknesses
1. They Have a Temper
"Type 8s are known for being confrontational. So, no matter how soft and emotional this personality type might seem, they have this in them.
Thus, ENFP 7w8s can have quite a temper. This might only be displayed when they are pushed to their wall or when their feelings have been hurt. It can be quite scary." - Personality Hunt
Examples:
“Hey, I heard you and Sam got together... He's a really good guy! We've been friends for a long time. You'd better be good to him, or you'll see my bad side!”
“Oh, it's because I'm a girl... isn't it? Ugh...Why? I'm just as strong as you! I'm not some fragile princess… I can take care of myself.”
"Mind your own business [Dad]! You think I should be at home cooking dinner because I'm a girl, don't you?!"
2. Manipulative
"This personality type will be more manipulative. Type 7 loves to have influence over others while type 8 loves power.
These two types blend to form an individual who knows how to control or influence people’s decisions.
While this is true, this does not necessarily mean that they might use this to hurt others. However, it is definitely part of their arsenal." - Personality Hunt
Though Abigail isn't manipulative throughout most of the game, when her marriage to the farmer is on the rocks, her manipulative tendencies start rearing their ugly head:
She becomes passive-aggressive, wondering out loud if she'll eventually get bored living on the farm.
She also asks if she could have done better than marrying the farmer and brings up her old flame Sebastian in front of them.
A low blow, if you ask me.
Examples:
“I wonder if I could've done better... I was very good friends with Sebastian before we met. He was probably the one...”
“I wonder if we'll live here our entire lives? I might get bored.”
3. Distrustful
"There’s a lot of talk on ENFPs being naïve. While this personality type loves ideas and wants to trust others, they can be especially distrustful.
They realize that people might not be exactly what they sell themselves as. Thus, this personality type might play the fool but understand exactly what is going on.
You’ll probably know where you stand with them when the chips are down." - Personality Hunt
Examples:
“One thing I've learned living here... everyone stares at you if you look different.”
“I can't trust a person who doesn't like animals...Oh, don't worry! I know you're an animal lover!”
“Hey. I know you're smart, but I still worry about you sometimes. The world is full of monsters. Just promise me you'll be careful. I don't want to lose you.”
“Hey! What... you think I'm too weak to swing a blade? Sorry, I guess I'm getting a little defensive.”
------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion
Abigail is everyone's favourite goth gf in the Stardew Valley community: she's outgoing, quirky, energetic, and marches to the beat of her own drum.
However, there is a lot more to Abigail than her renegade lifestyle:
Though her character arc isn't as dramatic as other bachelors and bachelorettes, Abigail struggles to find what many of us yearn for in our lives: happiness.
Though she hides it well, Abigail is deeply unhappy with her life and life circumstances. Her parents are overbearing and controlling, demanding she conform to their traditional lifestyle and manipulating her into doing what they want by holding financial support over her head:
"Stop trying to make me feel guilty. I appreciate that you and Dad are helping me out, but expecting me to dress the way you want is ridiculous. I'm not a little girl anymore, Mom.”
"Mind your own business [Dad]! You think I should be at home cooking dinner because I'm a girl, don't you?!"
Even her community doesn't seem to understand her or make an effort to. There are few people she feels she can trust to be herself around, and those are few and far between.
“One thing I've learned living here... everyone stares at you if you look different.”
Her Enneagram type 7 desire for happiness, paired with her MBTI cognitive strengths as an ENFP, leave her wanting more than what Pelican Town can offer her. That is until the farmer arrives and embraces Abigail for who she truly is: encouraging her to follow her dreams, and supporting her in all her adventure-filled endeavours.
“I always loved this place, long before you moved in. Now I can explore the farm whenever I want!”
Do you agree that Abigail is an ENFP 7w8? If not, what type do you think she is? Let me know your thoughts in the comments :)

My name is Mafuki and I run an art group for twisted wonderland! I am looking for twst yume artists who are also looking for friends!
The goal of our group will be to collaborate to create artpieces together (ex. art style challenge), and collab with each other (ex, 2 artists one base)! Something I'd love is for us to create a video with our ocs and their love interests together! All of this is non-profit so no one, including me will be gaining any monetary gain (unless you wanna post YOUR own pieces online aka not the other members unless you get permission). This is all for fun and you own the pieces you draw! We don't gatekeep pieces lol
We would love to make a group-home for people who just love twst and are passionate about it! The goal is for us to become a really close group of friends who just…love twst. If you have any questions, feel free to comment/pm me!
I've been put in a bind due to a missing member so if someone can start a prompt right away I would be very appreciative!
p.s. currently most members like to rp if youre into that

𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓
Just because you reply and fill in an introduction does not mean you'll automatically get an invite link to the discord group.
Due to the intent of the group, I would like to stay as far away from Drama as possible but also allow for there to be a safe space for anyone to vent and feel accepted. The goal is to operate similarly to Nightcord@25 [a project sekai reference].
As the person who decided to create the group, I hold all responsibility for anything that goes wrong and as such, I'll be speaking to each potential member first through chatting. There is nothing you need to do except be yourself. This is simply a vibe check. I'm looking to foster a safe environment for all those involved and will not tolerate extreme personas.
❀⌇Guidelines Before Applying:
➼ Must be between 16-25 (if you're slightly older, it's still okay! Around 20's is preferred but vibes are the most important aspect) ➼ Your race, gender, sexuality of both you and oc WILL NOT eliminate you. The goal is for this to be a safe space and as such, the only thing that matters is personality. Timezone also does not matter! ➼If you have a mental illness that is okay!! As long as you won't let it effect/use it as an excuse to hurt other members it is alright. Everyone I've recruited (including myself) has experience with various mental illnesses. ➼Even though this is an art group, art ability does NOT matter!! The goal is for us to have fun, and all that matters is that you're passionate about twst. And that you actually draw lol No need to know how to edit videos! As long as I have the assets I can edit the videos for the group! Bases are also okay with credit. ➼Since we're all making yume art, I'd like to try to keep to different characters per person ➼ Remain Relatively: Drama free, generally will have a good vibe aka not being judgmental, and is alright with criticism. Communicates well with other members and does not belittle.
Current taken characters: Azul, Malleus, Epel, Ruggie, Idia, Rollo, Rook, Lilia Potentially Taken characters**: Riddle, Jade, Leona, Kalim, Trey, Deuce
**DISCLAIMER: I accept people on a first come-first taken basis. It's purely on vibes so if I like someone's vibes then they're accepted along with their Yume choice. If I don't like their vibes, then I'll let someone else take that yume for the group.
𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒
If you're cool with everything, feel free to fill out this form and dm it to me! I'll speak with you shortly :3

Since my adhd is acting up again and I can't analyze the remaining characters in much detail, imma throw in every character's mbti & enneagram (+ a little explanation for the stuff I didn't already talk about)
Clover: INFP 1w9 (their idealism and wanting to do what's good (to them) is TOO STRONG; strong enough for the kid to die for this cause; that's why I'm giving them a combination that's got such strong morals)
Dalv: INFJ 5w4 (why 5 instead of 4? Because I feel like he's more focused on understanding & knowledge (about who his "mysterious friend" was), than on individualism. Although, he's shown to want to express himself creativity. That's why I'd give him a 4 wing)
Martlet: ISFP 9w1 (she's all about her own values, just like Clover; that's why the two of them have a final battle in the Vengeance route. I'd call it a "battle of moral values" Is it right to kill more monsters than necessary instead of simply fleeing after Clover killed five? And no, just because she's friendly doesn't make Martlet an extrovert; I think she leads with Fi and not Se, for the reasons I just gave)
The 9w1 is bc she's peaceful and relaxed, but with a strong moral code
Starlo: ESFJ 3w2 (that 3w2 was always clear as day to me: he puts on an image to make himself look/feel cooler, but he also cares about making others happy)
Ceroba: ISFJ (still trying to figure out if she's more of a 4w5 or 1w2. Personally, I'd go with 1w2 because I've read these people focus too much on what's wrong (Kanako falling down, Chujin being dead), they become moody (this is pretty evident whenever she gets annoyed with anyone throughout the game); refuses to be cheered up (subconsciously, imo: no matter what Star tried to do, she was still stubbornly depressed). And at their best, 1w2s apparently become more fun and spontaneous. Now, we don't see this in-game since Ceroba was at her worst, but based on the picture with her and Starlo as teens, she DOES NOT seem withdrawn like a 4w5)
I don't really see Roba as being motivated to be her authentic self, either. She wants to do good (for monsterkind). The other reason I don't think she's 4w5 is because of what I've read about this type's growth: they become more logical and disciplined, gain more motivation to get things done and follow through. I feel like Ceroba already had all this, and had to take the first step into becoming the more fun-loving monster she used to be so long ago.
ISFJ, because dominant Si (too focused on the past), and what she needs to do is realize that there are different ways to go about things, not just one (inferior Ne)
Axis: ISTJ 6w5 (yeah, this guy just wants to do his job, doesn't seem to care about power and prefers to solve things alone, that's why I over E. With the enneagram, at some point I thought he'd be a 1w9, but when I read about 6w5s, I'm now leaning more into that one: reacts, plans & acts when stressed (this is how he is throughout the entire section), emotionally intense (when he's mad it DOES show), wants to please authority figures (Chujin in this case), and values security)

he learned from a young age that a mask is important not to be taken advantage of. along the line, he became a cold and calculating person, all hiding behind a mask of warmth and friendliness. singing, dancing, piano, and language were all tools in his arsenal, and eventually became useful later on in his idol career.
he had a nanny whom he admired for her stoicism and strong presence. however, when she died, she admitted that she'd always hated him.
daehyun's insides shut down at this, whereas his outsides became more the mask that he'd always put on: inviting, mature, sensitive, and generous. he began lashing out in subtle ways: sabotaging his parents' dinner parties, wreaking havoc at charity benefits, etc., all while managing to gaslight gatekeep girlboss his way out of it. this started to become the only way he could feel anything.
his parents grew uncomfortable at how disarmingly polarizing he seemed within himself, so they sent him off to live in korea with his grandparents. they felt the same, and sent him off to a boarding school for performing arts, where he was scouted by midas.
he refined the act even more, growing twisted and cruel on the inside, all while remaining an angel on the outside. he debuted as a soloist in 2016 with a soft, sweet sound that cemented his public image as the perfect, sensitive boyfriend. behind the scenes, he has a sadistic streak, and this is more or less the only way he can ever feel anything. otherwise, he's just acting.
he's focused on philanthropy since 2018 to keep the image going, though he has started to grow actually fond of it.
some of his notable work includes don't go insane, squid game, and what's wrong with secretary kim.
in 2024, his nanny's son invited him for coffee, and daehyun was rattled at how genuine and kind the guy was. since then, daehyun's been having a snowballing existential crisis and is desperately trying to claw his way into being better. but old habits die hard, and every time he feels an emotion, he wants to crawl out of his own skin.
misc.
i'm heavily leaning daehyun's character development toward the growing disgust he's been feeling at himself for being a soulless, emotionless husk of a person. very, very much inspired by eleanor from the good place!
there are very few people daehyun genuinely cares about, and fewer still who actually know what he's truly like. i'm interested in connections with these kinds of people, and seeing how his connections with others help him grow as a person.
daehyun's started leaning into a darker sound since 2023, much to the surprise of the general public. his existential crisis has been building up more or less since he started getting into philanthropy, and really exploded when he felt the genuine kindness of a stranger.
he has a bernese mountain dog named maple. he got her as a puppy after falling in love with her at a volunteer event for the humane society. he also wrote a song, “your dog loves you,” for her, and cobbled a music video together with clips of her from his phone.
he also has a kitten, the newest edition to his family, a siamese named kiwi. he snuck her onto set to bottle feed her during the filming of squid game season 2.
he's surprisingly great with kids and animals, but thinks that everybody else in the world is a total manipulative nefarious snake.

My Thoughts on Popular Personality Websites
Inspired by conversations happening in the comment section of this post (shout out to @istj-mbti and @flayedsheep )
16 Personalities
Ah, 16 personalities, the enemy of the MBTI community… I’m joking… kind of. In all seriousness though, 16 personalities is really more similar to the Big Five personality types, than it is to MBTI. It can be a great tool… just not for understanding MBTI.
If you take it, you might get an accurate type, but more often than not… you won’t. I’m an INTP, and for the longest time, I always got INFP or INFJ on this test. My ISFP friend and ENFP friend both got INFP, and my INTJ friend has gotten variations, from INFJ, INTP to his actual type.
It has a big intuitive bias, and even though most of the MBTI community rejects this website, I definitely feel like this website is responsible for the intuitive bias present in the community. The biggest flaw however, is the disregard for cognitive functions.
And I get it. Cognitive functions are complicated and not everyone wants to sit down and learn the cognitive functions, and they really wanted to market this test for general audiences
I do think that alot of people who get into MBTI, start with this test, because it is so universally used in schools and jobs and stuff.
Personality Database
I have mixed opinions on PDB. Hypothetically, it’s a great place for discussions, when it comes to fictional characters, but like most MBTI forums it can turn sour very quickly, and it’s filled with people that have varied understanding of MBTI or enneagram.
Like, you’ll have a lot of adults who have been into MBTI for years and have a strong understanding of all the types, you have people who are just learning what cognitive functions are, then you’ll have teenagers who have just taken the 16 personalities test.
So in general, typings on that website are very hit or miss, but it’s a really great place to start when I’m unsure about a character typing, and want to see arguments other people have. However, I really hate when people use the typings on that site as the end-all-be-all of character types.
I mean, look at this?
Anna and Mirabel? ENFPs? I don’t have a super popular opinion on Anna’s typing but… ENFP?! Really? Also, how tf is Mirabel ANYTHING but an Fe user?
I agree on the consensus for Mulan though.
Sarkinova.net
I do think that out of the majority of the MBTI tests online, this one is the most accurate, because it takes cognitive functions into account. However I do have a few concerns with it, the first being its so long lol.
I know that they want to get the most in depth understanding of a person, but a lot of the times, it just feels like they are asking the same questions over and over again, but with different wording, and that can make it frustrating, and a lot of the time, I don’t finish it.
Not to mention, even though this one is more accurate than most, there are always flaws with these types of test. No test will be in depth enough to understand you enough as a person to give you an accurate type. This is another test I’ve taken multiple times and have been given a different type.
Though I will give the test credit, this one has been given me my actual type before… so at least there’s that. I do think if you’re going to take a test, this one is a good one to take.
MBTI Online
No judgement… but I am begging people to not pay 60 dollars for this test. You can find ones that are just as good for cheaper, or even better yet, free. This test isn’t going to give you anything any other test will.
I do know someone who spent the 60 dollars, and still got mistyped by it sooo… yeah. If you really want to take it, by all means, go ahead, I just wouldn’t.

BTS Suga Birth Chart Analysis
Based on my opinion and observations. Not an expert. May change later
March 9th, 1993
Daegu, South Korea
Unknown time
☀️♓️🌙♍️
Pisces sun is artsy, creative, sensitive, and empathetic. It should positively aspect his Pisces mercury. He genuinely seems like an emotionally intelligent person (esp with his interest in pyschology) as he's very patient and understanding. He's never raised his voice at the members or get very angry in general (except ofc for the few times he did fight with RM...I still wonder how Joon was able to get Yoongi so mad to the point of throwing things at him lol. But they were both very young and both have Cancer mars, an emotionally charged mars sign).
Virgo moon is reserved, prefer to detach and analyze their feelings and thoughts. This could be why he may seem "cold" to people. He's not, he's just calm and more controlled about his emotional expression like a majority of Virgo moons.
Having a Pisces sun and mercury though, he is able to comfortably express his deeper emotions through a creative outlet: his rap and lyrics writing skills. Music has always been his comfort and love. His song "First Love" is the best example for this.
Aries venus is in detriment. Being a Pisces sun, Suga is sweet and even a little idealistic at times, but Aries venus can make it awkward to express that. It's either he doesn't know how to initiate affection (e.g wanting to hold hands with the members but not knowing how to ask) or can be quite bold (e.g wanting a red string tattoo with the members. Could also be linked to his Pisces' romanticism lol)
Seems like a grand square is in his chart, which indicates many struggles and hardships. He's been very open about all the harsh things he's endured, so seeing this isn't surprising. Having to survive on small amount of money and working other jobs to support his career that was at high risk of failing, having unsupportive parents, shoulder and ear injury, mental illnesses, etc...
Possible rising: Aries. I have seen this to be his rumoured rising and I agree tbh. I'm not too sure about Venus in 1st considering how reserved he is (could be in his 12th). Mars could be in either 3rd or 4th. I am leaning towards 4th bc I know his parents weren't the most supportive of his career and he has made some implications that his parents were just a bit strict in general.
Sun and Mercury would be in 12th. Sun in 12th is perceptive and internal, preferring to observe from afar. A sense of detachment. Mercury in 12th keeps thoughts and feelings to self, so essentially a quiet and private person, which he is. Both are quite intuitive placements.
He has the passion and determined nature of an Aries. Capricorn MC also helps with the good self discipline and hardworking ethic that Yoongi has. Capricorn MC can also make one look serious and private, maybe a bit cold and workaholic, which a lot of people tend to say about him. Both signs share the ambitious and success seeking trait, which is very Yoongi.

DISLIKES — the way that memory hangs like a knife over him, stains, when people bluster their way through things, emotional intimacy, the general existence of his bardo, again REALLY hates it when people are wrong but act like they aren't, dishonesty, when something is done wrong when it could have easily been done right, also... genuine mess.
HOBBIES — baking anything and everything, interior decorating (he tends to pretend to go antiquing in near vane), catching up on all of the media that he's forgotten (film, theater, books, music, you name it— the one thing he hasn't quite gotten a handle on his video games), does doing his job count as a hobby? because it genuinely is one for him.
HABITS — drumming his fingers in pattern he can't quite place, idly fixing wrinkles in his clothes and other people's, twisting at his watch (does it work? no. does he still wear one? yes! it feels comfortable for some reason), and he has a tendency to bring his hands or fiddle at the back of his neck when he's nervous.

5, 6, and 13 for the ask game~
5. Are there any scenes in your story that you enjoy re-reading?
Yes! My favorite is the first time Atlas and Asher hang out one-on-one and they just sit in Ash's living room having one those conversations where you flow from one topic to another for hours. This scene was so much fun to write and so much fun to bring to life and share, and it really captures the two of them so well... I think I have it memorized by now tbh 😅
6. Are there any scenes you wish you could go back and re-write?
Yes! Honestly, I would probably re-write all of the Prologue. At the time, I was moving through things pretty quickly because I was still playing a legacy challenge first and storytelling second. Now that my priority is the story, I wish I would've spent more time in the beginning. My biggest regret is probably not fleshing out the clash between Phoenix and Wolfgang. I just kinda showed that it was happening, but it's pretty one-dimensional. There's no real substance behind it. And I think if I gave it the same attention then that I would now, it could be a pretty fun enemies-to-friends arc. That being said, the best thing to come out of it is Wolfgang's nickname for Phoenix ("Penis") which will just never not bring me joy... because I'm that mature.
13. What characters do you feel most connected to? Why do you feel connected to that character?
ATLAS! I think Atlas is the most like me: Introverted, anxious, reserved, introspective. We're both 9w1 on the Enneagram. But also, I spent the majority of this year really digging in with him. The Past arc was my first time writing first-person prose, and it gave me the opportunity to get into Atlas' head in a way I've never done with any character before. And now, I hear his voice in my head, I feel it in my chest when I've tapped into him.. more than any other character, he feels like a piece of me.
💖Thank you so much!! I loved these questions!

Hey, everyone! Today, I’m gonna do something quite different in this post. You may have gathered this from my pinned post, but I am heavily interested in personality tests and typing, most notably with MBTI and Enneagrams! But the reason why I have been invested in this is that I initially wanted to type each of the main characters in KINAC, most notably my one and only romantic F/O, Petal! It took many attempts, changes and difficulties, but I have indeed typed her with something that I won’t likely change.
In this post, I will tell y’all all about what I typed my F/O Petal as and WHY I typed her this way. I will be going over some characteristics of each of the types, including some very specific yet neat stuff, and how they relate to her! I might even do more personality analyses like this in the future, if y’all want! I won’t waste any more time here, so let’s get started under the cut!
(SPECIAL NOTE: I am making this blog post assuming that everyone who will read it has prerequisite knowledge of MBTI and Enneagrams, including cognitive functions and the function stack for the former; and wings, instinctual variants, and tritypes for the latter. I will brush over some of the listed topics as I go along, but I highly recommend familiarizing yourself with each of these topics if you haven’t already!)
(ALSO...I don’t really consider myself an expert in this subject per se, and there are times when I rush through things and might make quite a few mistakes. Feel free to correct me on anything or even give your own insight into what her type could be, if we have different opinions!)
Personality Typing Deep Dive - Petal
I think first and foremost, this prerequisite is required: what is Petal’s personality like? I will give a brief rundown.
Petal is considered to be motherly; she is protective of those she cares about and loves looking after them, especially Kitty. Petal is also very kind, caring, and enthusiastic to a fault...so much so that the other cats have gotten annoyed at her sometimes. Despite her kind and gentle nature, she knows when enough is enough, and is willing to put her foot down if it means justice.
Petal’s motherly nature makes her quite intelligent for a cat. But at the end of the day, she is still a cat. She doesn’t fully grasp human culture and behavior (often calling humans weird or unintelligent), and because of her cat instincts, she has done some pretty derpy things at times. And yet, despite not fully understanding sometimes, she does her absolute best to be as kind and respectful as possible.
MBTI brief recap
The first of two personality typing systems we will use to type Petal is the Meyers–Briggs Type Indicator, or MBTI for short. MBTI, as y’all know, is perhaps the most famous personality typing system besides Zodiac signs. 4 letters with 2 possibilities for each of those letters each yields 16 different types one can be. Under the hood, 8 cognitive functions are each stacked in various positions in one’s mind, with varying degrees of consciousness. A function can be the driver for your decision-making at best (your conscious stack) or a demonic force of evil at worst (your shadow stack).
I personally wouldn’t say that MBTI determines your personality and personality traits as much as it determines your behavior and how you cognitively make decisions, due to these functions. Two people can be of the same type yet have entirely different personalities. As such, it’s more like a “blueprint” rather than a complete definition of one’s personality. Nonetheless, it’s an interesting way to see how different people behave in any given situation, whether they know it or not!
But enough waffling on...now that we know what Petal is like and what MBTI exactly is, we can move forward with her MBTI type!
After much deliberation, I have concluded that Petal’s MBTI type is ESFJ!
What does it mean to be an ESFJ? ESFJs are often called “consuls” or “caregivers.” They generally have strong practical skills and a sense of duty, and they are very loyal and can easily connect and flourish with others. They generally ensure that others are cared for, and they provide a warm and safe presence for them. However, they can also be too needy or selfless, and are sensitive to criticism. They can also be very averse to conflict and can have trouble with giving criticism, too.
Sounds like Petal, right? But generalizations and stereotypes aren’t good enough for explaining why she’s an ESFJ. In order to fully gather that, we must look at what’s under the hood: her cognitive functions.
Dominant Fe
Your dominant function can be thought of as the driving force behind your cognitive processes. It’s the one you use most often in everyday situations, and it’s your most trusted one when it comes to making major decisions. As an INFP, my dominant function is Introverted Feeling, or Fi. My Fi is about my inner moral compass; what I personally feel is right. As a Fi-dom, I want to go through life by staying true to who I am without having to conform to societal standards.
Petal, on the other hand, has Extroverted Feeling as her dominant function, or Fe. If Fi is about what’s inside, then Fe is all about the group. Fe-doms often have a strong desire to help people and make sure that everyone is involved. They love talking about their feelings with others, and they want to live in harmony with everyone. If there’s any motto for what things they do, it’s: “It’s what the people want!”
Sounds a lot like Petal, especially with her penchant for helping others! Petal definitely puts the desires and intentions of those around her before her own. In fact, she gets so caught up in the group that she often gets dragged along into any silly shenanigans they get into. For example, in one episode some of the cats performed a play about seeking buried treasure, and the cats including Petal, thinking it was fact instead of fiction, searched all around the mansion for it! I definitely imagine her thinking to herself, “Everyone else is doing it, so I should, too!” When they did find treasure and King Tubby took it all for himself and the other cats got mad, she did as well! There were many other instances of her playing along with the group, including investing in the stock market and playing tag.
But despite this, she knows when to take charge, and there are times in the show when she does. She isn’t always a leader-type, but when she is, she is very effective in telling others what needs to be done and how. (Although, this may be more of a Te thing now that I think about it.)
I want to touch upon this quote a bit:
“Hello there, I’m Petal. Most would refer to me as the motherly type, which is fine; I like looking after everyone.”
It’s the introduction she gave herself when she filmed a video. It’s a common stereotype with Fe users (especially Fe-doms) that they struggle with their identity. So, they turn to others to determine who they are. To put it in a quote, “I’ll be whoever you want me to be.” It’s very subtle, yet it says a lot.
But there is a certain episode in which I feel is where her Fe truly shines: “Petal Pushers”, the 43rd episode of the 1st season. At the beginning of the episode, Petal is shown to be very encouraging of the others, much to their annoyance. In one particular part, she was showing a flower to Kitty and Timmy Tom when Cheeta busted in and announced that he could touch his nose with his tongue, which he tries and fails at that moment. Now, he interrupted her, but did she get mad? Nope! Instead, she congratulated him for his “ability,” and encouraged him to try again! Miley was there and she got annoyed at her for not making him apologize. To which Petal responded:
“Oh, he doesn’t need to say sorry! I’m only sorry I was doing something while he was obviously trying to do something very important!”
Later, Petal overhears some of the cats talking to each other about how annoyed they were with her, and that she was “too nice all the time.” Petal, initially distraught, decides that if “they don’t want nice Petal, they won’t get nice Petal.” So, she dons a leather jacket and spiked collar, and becomes mean. She throws food around, insults others, insists on watching hardcore shows, eats unhealthy food, and stomps around. Despite doing all this, she finds that it’s incredibly hard for her to be mean. She gets tired of keeping up the act, and finally drops it when the other cats apologize to her for taking her kindness for granted.
If you know your dominant function, you also know your inferior, opposing and demon functions. Could her demon Te have taken over in this case, then? I unfortunately don’t know enough about the demon function to accurately say anything about that. But some of her final words sum up her Fe well: “I just love you all so much!”
Auxiliary Si
Your auxiliary function is also an important part of your cognitive processes. If the dominant function is the driver, then the auxiliary is the guide, helping it out in making major decisions. My auxiliary function is Extroverted Intuition, or Ne. Ne is mostly about finding every possibility one can in the world. However, I mainly use it to enhance my Fi by coming up with ways I can express my values and identity.
Since she is an ESFJ, Petal’s auxiliary function is Introverted Sensing, or Si. Si is mainly about one’s past experiences, and how one can use them to deduce what could happen or what they could experience, so that they can be prepared for any situation. However, Petal doesn’t use this on its own; instead, she uses Si to advance the interests of the group and to assist others if they need help.
Petal is one of the first ones to offer any advice on what to do if a problem in her group arises. For example, when the cats experienced a blackout, they were stuck on what to do until the power came back on. She immediately said, “Oh, we can roast marshmallows!” and handed Cheeta marshmallows and sticks to use to “put them on the fire.” (He misinterpreted this and actually threw them into the fireplace.) In another instance, Timmy Tom couldn’t stop yodeling, which the others thought was a case of hiccups. She immediately exclaimed, “Oh, I have a remedy for hiccups!” and pulled out a lemon, which she made him bite down on. In summary, Petal helps others by using her own tried and true methods that she has learned over her life.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much else to say about her Si. As a result, I would like to go down a step in the stack to another function that can better explain exactly why Petal is an ESFJ.
Tertiary Ne
I personally believe that when it comes to typing characters, the tertiary function provides better insight than the auxiliary into what type they exactly are. The tertiary function aids you just like your top two functions, but it is often labeled as the “child” function. This is due to the fact that it is most often used in a “childish” or “immature” way, and isn’t entirely reliable in making major decisions. My tertiary function is Si, and I use it very differently than Petal does. I mainly use it to relax, by finding comfort in routine and familiarity. For example, I often become nostalgic when I rewatch old movies or listen to music I’ve loved over the years or even browse through old photos, as it reminds me of much simpler times. (This may not be the best example, but...yeah.)
Like me, Petal also uses Ne. However, I am much more mature about it than she is. Ne is about possibilities; as such, sometimes Petal is absolutely enthralled in the exciting and unknown...so much so that it can become a problem. If she sees a new thing that she likes or can be useful for her, she becomes obsessed.
One example of her tertiary Ne showing is in “Junior Rangers”, the 6th episode of the 2nd season. In it, a junior ranger troop leader explains to Petal the premise of being a junior ranger, including showing off some badges. She becomes instantly hooked on them, spending all night sewing together tons and tons of them...even though she initially planned for Kitty to become a ranger so that she can be taught how to behave like a human. She would end up giving them away basically for free, and it ultimately distracted her from the fact that cats cannot be junior rangers. Ouch...
Miley: “Are you sure this is the right thing for Kitty, or are you just in it for the badges?” Petal: “For the badg–I mean, Kitty. Er, all for Kitty.”
But there is one dark side to the tertiary function that can really make itself known during difficult times, that truly cements how one can behave when it’s not used wisely: the dominant-tertiary loop. What happens during a loop is that your auxiliary function is completely ignored, and as a result you “loop” between using your dominant and tertiary functions with devastating consequences. As an INFP, I’ve definitely found myself in a Fi-Si loop before. The experience is different for all INFPs, but in mine, I become so paralyzed by my past mistakes that I retreat from everything and am deathly afraid of trying new things.
But as for Petal and her loop, let’s look at “You Can’t Handle the Juice!”, the 40th episode of the 2nd season. In the episode, Petal signs a contract and is the not-so proud owner of a bunch of boxes of orange juice. She is told by both the neighbor and a person in a video that she has to sell the juice, but it’s not so much selling as it is helping. Seeing as how she’s an ESFJ, she was enticed by that. She was also told to never take no for an answer. Hoo boy...
In my eyes, what happens next is a great example of a Fe-Ne loop. Again, the experience is different for each ESFJ, but here is how Petal experienced hers. Every time that a cat had a problem, Petal and her juice were to the rescue, or so she thought. Out of milk for your cereal? Use OJ instead! Stained your fur? OJ will clean it up! It doesn’t matter what kind of problem it is, she sees every single opportunity to just help everyone out using the juice. She’s not thinking rationally, but only how she can help. This juice can solve ANY problem, just you wait and see! The worst part is, she ain’t even realizing that she’s making everything worse! AND SHE’S GOING INSANE IN THE PROCESS! It’s what the people want, dammit!
Anyway...again, if you want to type a character, just think: what does their loop look like?
Critical Se
The last function I want to go over before I move on is part of the shadow stack. These are the functions that aren’t exactly a part of us. As a result, we tend to have no control over them, and they could help or seriously harm us.
One of these functions is called the critical function. If the auxiliary function is the guide or “nurturing parent,” then this one is the “critical parent.” In short, we tend to criticize and berate others when they use this function, or we criticize ourselves when we don’t. My critical function is Introverted Intuition, or Ni. If Ne is about what could be possible, then Ni is about what will be possible; Ni can be described as making one long-term plan and sticking to it, with no other options. Because this is my critical function, I tend to silently berate other people who limit my options. As a real-life example, my stepdad was talking to me the other day about my career in statistics. He said that I can be interested in applying my skills to various things, I need to apply it to one and only one thing in order to advance my career. Him saying this just made me angry. Why should I limit myself to only one topic? There’s got to be another way! I cannot live like this!
In contrast, Petal’s critical function is Extroverted Sensing, or Se. Se is often described as “living in the moment.” However, there’s more to it than that. In particular, one big aspect of Se is that it’s the experience you give to other people. Being aware of how your words and actions might affect others AND being able to use that awareness effectively is a possible indicator that you have strong Se. (As someone with trickster Se, I can’t relate, lol.)
If Se is in the critical position, what does it mean for Petal? In summary, she is often critical of people who leave a bad impression on her. If she is around to witness another person being rude, there is no doubt that she will criticize them for it. She has a strong sense of justice, and takes notice of any bad behavior or intentions in order to correct them. Not only this, but it may be that she criticizes herself when she leaves a bad impression on others, in the form of over-apologizing and having an “Oh, shit!” look when she makes a mistake.
“Pardon my French, Pierre!”
She also tends to be critical of habits that seem strange to her. Besides King Tubby, she seems to be the one cat that is the most critical of human culture and behavior. She even goes as far as to say that humans are weird and unintelligent. (As for how she fell in love with me, I’m unsure tbh.)
But overall, she is one of those rare ESFJs that know how to use their critical Se to their advantage. With it and her sense of justice, she knows how to give proper discipline to others and hold them accountable for their actions. This is just one of the core aspects of her motherly nature, and that is just one aspect that makes Petal who she is.
Enneagram brief recap
The other personality typing system we will use to type Petal is the Enneagram. If MBTI is how people behave the way they do, then the Enneagram is the why. There are 9 Enneagrams that each correlate to your core motivations, desires, and fears. Again, I wouldn’t say it determines your personality; it more so determines the reasons for you behaving the way you do. Just like with MBTI, two people can be of the same Enneagram type yet have entirely different personalities.
Despite how basic it may seem compared to MBTI at first glance, there are several complicated sub-topics when it comes to exactly specifying your Enneagram. There is the idea that you act like another type depending on if you’re in growth (integration) or in stress (disintegration). There is a wing, which is when you inherit traits of an adjacent Enneagram. There is also something called instincts, which reflect how you further behave, which can all be stacked into an instinctual stack. There’s even the idea that one person has 3 Enneagram types at the same time in something called a tritype! As stated in the beginning of this post, I am assuming you have prerequisite knowledge of all of these topics. You don’t have to be an expert, you just have to be familiar enough with them so that you’ll know what I’m talking about!
So what are we waiting for? Let’s type Petal! (The following descriptions are probably going to be much shorter than the MBTI ones due to the types being self-explanatory given what I said earlier.)
After much deliberation, I have concluded that Petal’s Enneagram type, including wing, instinct stack, AND tritype is 2w1 so/sx 216 (2w1-1w2-6w7)!
What does it mean to be an Enneagram Type 2? In summary, 2s have a core desire of feeling loved, and a core fear of being unloved or unworthy of love. How does that relate to Petal? Well, an extremely common way that 2s want to feel loved...is by helping others! In fact, 2s are often seen as the “helpers” of the Enneagram world. They are generally empathetic, sincere, warmhearted, friendly, generous, and self-sacrificing. However, they can also be flattering and people-pleasing.
I mean...this fits her pretty damn well, I think! One thing to note about Enneagram typing is that it’s not finding exactly what fits a particular character, it’s what fits a character the most. And 2 definitely fits her a LOT. In her own words,
“Oh, I love helping!”
Does all of this sound familiar? If so, that’s because there’s actually a large overlap between ESFJs and 2s. Being helpful and compassionate towards others? Sensitive to criticism? Putting others before themselves, so much so that they forget their own needs? Yep, fits both of them well! In fact, a study done to find the correlation of MBTI and Enneagrams found that about 61% of ESFJs are 2s, and that about 47.5% of 2s are ESFJs. Very cool!
I feel like I really don’t need to say anything more here, since a lot of what was said about Petal in the previous sections can also be applied to type 2s. But let’s dive deeper into her specific wing, instinct stack and tritype!
Disintegration into 8
I want to briefly touch upon disintegration, or when you become so stressed that you inherit the bad aspects of a certain other type. This other type depends on your own type, but for Petal, she disintegrates into an 8, which makes her aggressive and domineering. She has been shown to get really angry at times, in particular when things don’t quite go her way or when someone left a really bad impression on her (critical Se!). In particular, she might cuss or insult others. She apologizes right after, however. (Now that I think about it, this may not be true disintegration...then again, maybe her becoming mean in “Petal Pushers” was?)
“When I’m underappreciated, I kick off!”
1 Wing
Enneagrams can also be split up into 2 “wings.” In short, a wing is something that enhances your type by inheriting characteristics of the adjacent type. If what you desire in your primary type is your end goal, your wing can be seen as HOW you achieve that goal.
Keeping that in mind, there are 2 possible wings for the helpful type 2s: 2w1, which incorporates the 1s’ sense of justice and perfectionism, thus wanting to achieve being loved through being prim and proper; and 2w3, which incorporates the 3s’ sense of ambition and goal-setting, thus wanting to achieve being loved through being successful. I mentioned Petal’s sense of justice before, which already makes her lean towards the 1 wing more. But let’s briefly dive into some differences between these two wings:
2w1s are more concerned with doing the right thing, while 2w3s are more concerned with keeping up a good image. Petal seems to genuinely care about others and wants what’s best for them.
2w1s want to be loved but being proper is almost more important. There have been times where Petal has spoken up about things needing to be done in a proper way. 2w3s, however, want to be loved and there could be nothing stopping them. They can be manipulative and competitive, and will try to help everyone.
I saw an analogy on Reddit that really sealed the deal for me: imagine that two 2s are about to serve a dish to a group of people. 2w1s will make the absolute best dish they could think of in the hopes that everyone will love it. 2w3s, however, would make everyone’s favorite dish to prepare it for every individual person. The first one definitely fits Petal better; in fact, she has served one appetizing dish to the other cats, and all of them loved it.
Knowing all of this, I can confidently say that Petal definitely fits the 1 wing better. For her, it’s not about success; it’s about being good, as well as her genuine love for those she cares about.
SO/SX Stack
Enneagrams can also be divided into 3 instinctual subtypes. The 3 instincts can be thought of as “survival mechanisms” for how to make it in the world, whether alone (self-preservation), with a partner (sexual), or with a group (social). Everyone has these instincts, but like the cognitive functions of MBTI, they are “stacked” to varying degrees of importance in one’s mind. There is the instinct that is sought, the one that is a resource, and the one that is ignored. Although instincts are different for each and every Enneagram, the core idea remains the same.
NOTE: Wings and instinct stacks DO NOT and SHOULD NOT affect each other! You can be of ANY wing and stack combination!
Knowing each of the instincts, I think it’s safe to say that for Petal, the self-preservation instinct is dead last in her stack. I don’t need to say again that she is mostly influenced by the people around her, and that she often does certain things only because everyone else is doing it. The question is...is Petal a social 2 or a sexual 2?
The way I see it, instincts enhance your core desire. On the one hand, social 2s want to feel loved by a group of people. They often are supportive and overextend themselves for the group in order to gain influence and love in it. On the other hand, sexual 2s want to have a partner to feel loved by, and can be seductive or manipulative in order to achieve this. In addition, people with the SO/SX stack tend to appear friendly and lighthearted on the outside, while those with the SX/SO stack can be energetic and enthusiastic, yet intense and impulsive. With this, I think SO/SX definitely fits Petal more.
216 Tritype
And last but definitely not least, comes the tritype. As stated earlier, there is an idea that people are of 3 Enneagram types (and wings!) at the same time, ALSO stacked based on importance! There are restrictions when it comes to what possible tritypes there are (specifically, you must have one type from each Enneagram triad), but each of these types work together to form a cohesive framework into what motivates your behavior as a person.
When figuring out Petal’s tritype, I was conflicted as to whether she was a 216 or a 269. What I was hung up on is the 1/9; does she strive for peace and harmony, or perfectionism more? To answer this, I decided to take a look at the two tritypes as a whole:
126s’ greatest ability is to be there and serve others when they need it, while 269s are excellent at dealing with conflict. Thinking about it, Petal definitely takes on more of a nurturing, protective “guardian” role more so than a “mediator” role. She can often be seen in the show doing chores around the house, helping out whenever it is necessary. It’s very important for her that any chores need to get done, and that others are responsible for their behavior. 9s in general tend to be very passive and have trouble asserting themselves, and let’s just say...Petal asserts herself when it’s right.
For example, in “Kitty Copy Cat,” the 28th episode of the 1st season, Kitty starts copying Miley’s behaviors, and the latter gets extremely upset. So she and Luna decide to get back at Kitty in order to get her to stop. They end up making Kitty angry and she storms off...but Petal witnessed the entire thing. And so she gave it to them straight.
“Ahem! Can someone please tell me why Kitty just ran off dressed like a rebellious teenager? Imitation is the highest form of flattery, and being catty is the last form of cat-havior! I expect better of both of you! Just fix this!”
Knowing this, the choice is very clear. Now that we have her basic tritype, we can go over her specific tritype: 2w1-1w2-6w7. If you know about the wings of types 1 and 6, it is clear that her wings are somewhat obvious. Her 1 has a 2 wing, as she is more inclined to make the group around her better by helping others be prim and proper, at the cost of her own needs. The last in her tritype is 6, which is about wanting to be safe and secure. Petal does seem like the type to want a safe and peaceful life, and she ensures that others are safe as well.
“I’m Petal. I’m looking forward to building a shelter, and making sure everyone works and plays nicely!”
One of the biggest differences between a 6w5 and a 6w7, though, is that the former wants to appear capable and competent, while the latter wants to have fun every once in a while. On occasion, Petal will definitely have fun, either dancing in one of the cats’ many cat parties, or going to a large social event, such as a craft market. Now that I think about it, 6w7 fits Petal infinitely more than 6w5; she is more social, remains optimistic, doubts herself more, is often pulled along with the group, and sometimes enjoys new ideas. There is absolutely no 6w5 in her. There’s no 5 in her whatsoever, even.
And we have covered pretty much everything! I may have missed some things worth noting, but I have covered the major portions pretty well, I think! But no matter what, even though Petal may be typed as an ESFJ 2w1 so/sx 216 (2w1-1w2-6w7), at the end of the day, she isn’t defined by any personality typing system...she is defined by who she is as a person. She is kind, caring, motherly, enthusiastic, and has a sense of justice. She is my lovely lady, my beautiful bride, my wonderful wife. Petal...is Petal. And there’s no changing that.
And that’s all, folks! Man, this was an insanely fun post to make! In fact, this may not be the only Personality Typing Deep Dive I make; if it’s requested, I may do one of these again, whether it’s for any of my non-romantic F/Os, or even other KINAC characters! If y’all think this is something you want to see more of in the future, please let me know!
Until then...see y’all in the next post! I love you so much, Petal!

🖤 ✨ 🖤 ✨ Rika ✨ 🖤 ✨ 🖤
Let's start with Rika...
⚠️possible spoilers ahead, be warned⚠️
I can't believe I actually didn't realize that. I mean, I did it. Like 7 years ago, but I had no clue on how to explain it.
Besides it needs from Mystic Messenger Timeline *which I'm still working on, and trying to finish* to actually make sense.
Disclaimer: Please take into account that whatever I say here, it's only my opinion after playing the game so many years. I'm not a psychiatrist or a psychologist, or therapist of any kind. I'm just a writer, who loves to spend time analysing characters and stories.
I did asked to my mom to help me with this and the other characters because of how difficult the task ahead of me was. My mom, who is an actual therapist, did her best to help me, but I did most of the analysis here, since I'm the one who knows the in's and outs of this game. Besides, I did my research and I'll make sure to quote it! So give it a chance and keep reading even if you disagree with me. And then, I'd love to read your thoughts on the topic 💕
Narcissus. Also known as daffodil.
Should I talk to you about the dark side of the flowers and tie it to MM characters?? Anyways, Rika is a narcissistic. But also has a profound trauma. One doesn't exclude the other. Here's a quote from Mayo Clinic:
«Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental health condition in which people have an unreasonably high sense of their own importance. They need and seek too much attention and want people to admire them. People with this disorder may lack the ability to understand or care about the feelings of others. But behind this mask of extreme confidence, they are not sure of their self-worth and are easily upset by the slightest criticism.»
Causes: The cause is likely complex. Narcissistic personality disorder may be linked to:
Environment — parent-child relationships with either too much adoration or too much criticism that don't match the child's actual experiences and achievements.
There are other two, that are genetic, and neurobiology causes, but I'll be focusing more on the environment, which let's be honest, it's what is displayed on the game. If you're interested on reading more about it, there's a link before the quote and, on References, I'll also be leaving every single link.
So let's go back to Rika and please read the next three images while remembering how's her relationship with V, and Saeran. Sometimes even with MC, and Mika.
As you can see...
Attention:
* Creates the RFA. Receives attention.
* Creates Mint Eye. Receives attention.
* Says V is her Sun.
* As soon as she gets tired, says V's killing her and wants to leave
* Wants to mix RFA and Mint Eye. I assume is because despite everything, she feels like she's losing attention on everything she created. And MC is the reason of that too.
They don't choose losers:
V is a millionaire
Jumin is a millionaire
Zen is super sexy and hot
Jaehee and the twins are really smart
Do I need to keep going? Even Elizabeth the 3rd is one of the most beautiful cats ever seen.
Grooming:
Here's the part that keeps bothering me because I realized about it before I could actually explain what it was going on. Seven years ago I decided to play the game, and I finished feeling a bit too weird on how everyone was so infatuated with Rika... it wasn't any other person that just dies and then the group dies too. It was still active two years after losing her (?) Even though they have only know each other for... 4 to 6 years?
Some even less. Like Jaehee. Which randomly brings me to: She's an ENFJ so she does focus on details like Jaehee (Jaehee might be ISFJ, ISTJ or even ESFJ considering how well she manages around people too. But that's another story.) Her enneagram is probably 1.
I can understand Yoosung, but... you know what I mean. It was weird. And once I reached the first VN novel about V and Rika I felt even more weirded out by these two.
I don't think I can pinpoint it but I felt like Rika was manipulating V so I was surprised when I realized some members were tying these two as lovers and a beautiful couple. Do you guys remember V being surprised by Rika quoting "The Sun is the mother of all"?? Yeah... Even back then, for me it was a highlight of how messed up their relationship was. But again, I couldn't exactly pinpoint it. Until, now.
After Cheritz released Another Story, and Rika DLC, many of my theories came true. But still in a disorganized way. Which is why I created The Mystic Messenger Timeline.
I did confirmed one thing:
Rika is a narcissist and V is a people pleaser (that doesn't make him any less villainous of what he is, but I'll explain once we'll reach his profile. I promise.) at least at the very beginning of this story.
She probably has psychopatic tendencies
She definitely has sadistic and abusive tendencies: I have a hard time putting through her whole behavior during Saeran's Route and especially during his AE. But she takes pleasure in hurting others. V, Saeran, MC, Mint Eye associates, etc.
A bit of One on the Enneagram:
It is called The Reformer.
Because Ones have a “sense of mission” that leads them to want to improve the world in various ways, using whatever degree of influence they have. They strive to overcome adversity—particularly moral adversity—so that the human spirit can shine through and make a difference. They strive after “higher values,” even at the cost of great personal sacrifice.
If you think I'm too far off, then please check the levels of healthy and unhealthy Ones can have. They sure ring a bit too much for me on Rika's behavior. From Level 1 to 9, we can see her evolution during the game. But here you have a couple of her worse traits.
Unhealthy Levels
Level 7: Can be highly dogmatic, self-righteous, intolerant, and inflexible. Begin dealing in absolutes: they alone know "The Truth." Everyone else is wrong: very severe in judgments, while rationalizing own actions.
Level 8: Become obsessive about imperfection and the wrongdoing of others, although they may fall into contradictory actions, hypocritically doing the opposite of what they preach.
Level 9: Become condemnatory toward others, punitive and cruel to rid themselves of wrongdoers. Severe depressions, nervous breakdowns, and suicide attempts are likely. Generally corresponds to the Obsessive-Compulsive and Depressive personality disorders
If you want to know more about this, check this.
So, why do you (player) like Rika as character?
Because it's okay, I know people who actually like Rika. I don't, but I definitely don't hate her either...
You don't need to be worried about it as long as you know what she did was wrong. That's it. Now, why do you like her/identify with her?
Things that might, or not, ring a bell:
* Trauma: Rika has a traumatic past. And you might feel like it's a mirror of your past. Hence identifying with it might not be something difficult. Of course this doesn't mean you are leader of some religious cult.
* Her willingness to fight despite having everything at odds. Let's not forget that before she goes nuts and starts brainwashing people, she did a lot of great deeds. Tried to stay positive and all that.
* Her kindness (we can discuss over certain things, but as much as she did terrible things, she also did amazing things, like creating the RFA to help people. Wether she did it with a certain master plan in mind or not, she did helped as much as she hurt and that's the important part.)
* She's just a great villain! It might be hard to understand for some people but you actually just look at her character as what it is, a character, and you're impressed by how many discussions and hot debates she brings onto the table. Understandable!
* Her flower means forgiveness♡
Do you have any other ideas for why you might like Rika? I'd be happy to read them. 💕
Also, this might be one of my last post about her. Might not be the last but I do need to finish with the Mystic Messenger Timeline, and I will but I don't think I have a lot more material to write about. So thank you for sticking with me all this time! I'm linking the main post on MysMe theories I have, I still need to finish tying up all nicely. But we're coming to the end. I'm definitely talking about trauma, coping mechanisms, parenthood, childhood and societal pressures but it'll be in other posts, possibly not even linking them to this one. Who knows? Stay tuned~!
