I wanted to draw pregnant Ratchet and realized.. that might not work at all. This fat man is the bane of my existence.

So in rescue bots ( not academy ) there are times you can see the humans in they’re like chest compartments ( which is just basically the front half of the car seating and all ) and I’m mentioning it because I stand by the headcanon of behind able to put sparklings in that chest compartment when they’re clingy, and i fear I may need to tell someone else so you get to deal with it now :))

And I’m mentioning this because just imagine ( I’m using my oc for this ) a autobot who’s got a sparkling that’s a seeker; and seeker sparklings are probably really clingy and need to be with they’re carrier or sire but like unless you’ve got extra arms you can’t really hold a sparkling and work so chest compartments, it’s like they’re still with the carrier and probably gets the sparkling to nap well the carrier can work.

Very fun Ted Talk, I like the concept. For seekers the headcanon that their sparkling can just be stored in their cockpits is pretty common, it’s one of my favorites. For other alts it’s not too common for them to stick their sparklings in their chassis (chest) though. I think some can, those who have a lot of space like Optimus or Ratchet, while others with less space can’t, like Jazz since he’s so small.

Another option I really like for clingy sparkling is the magnet baby method, where they just stick to their creators or others.

I’m thinking of adding the magnet baby headcanon to my AUs, it’s grown on me, and there’s a bunch of funny scenarios I can think of.

Here's a bit of a silly question based on your Cybertronian carriage info, but how successful would a carriage be by a pair of vastly different frame sizes? Ie, a Titan that has a battleship alt, and a Seeker with like, a B-25 alt (aka a pair of OCs between me and my fiancé with 3 kids but ANYWAY-)

Oooh interesting, I love a size difference ship, they’re just so- hehehehhe

Okay so for sparklings, if the titan carries, they’ll have a really easy time, there’s already a lot of space in there. Even if the sparkling(s) inherent their alt, they’ll be big babies but small compared to their carrier.

Now if the seeker is the carrier… Primus help them let’s hope the sparkling(s) is a seeker because if not, that carriage is gonna be so incredibly difficult. What’s a small baby for the titan is BIG for the seeker.

That’s said, it’s up to you, both choices have their own cool possibilities. Hope you and your fiancé have fun :)

What would the Supernova Trine have been like?

I think her life would’ve been a lot easier if she’d had her siblings with her, at least in the beginning. Having others who truly understood her, who she could relate to, lean on, and who could share the weight when things got hard, would’ve made all the difference. With a trine, the burden she carries now wouldn’t fall all just on her,they could’ve split it.

Thing is, the others still wouldn’t have made it. Supernova’s life is one constant string of life-threatening situations, and she survives them all out of sheer stubbornness and unfathomable willpower. She inherited that from her creators, this absurd ability to refuse to go offline no matter what. Her siblings? They wouldn’t have been the same. One too many near-deaths, one too much pressure, and they would’ve been gone.

Even though she will never get to know her siblings, maybe it’s a mercy she’ll never have to grieve them. She’ll never know their faces, their voices, or the pain of losing them. But then again, is it really better to never have loved at all than to have loved and lost?

I came across your post and holy airball, this is so cool, especially the way you draw transformers. I'm intrigued by the Starscream with a sparkling ima dig in deeper to find more stuff about it! Also, what ships do you do?

Welcome :D my blog’s kind of a mess of whoever guy is most in my head at the time but we have fun here. I have 2 AUs one with Supernova, and a separate one called Baby Prime which now branched off to a second part of the AU, where the main plot is over but I make everyone be happy and have babies because I can <3

My main ships are JazzProwl, Wheelratch, and the Elita Trine (which I should do more of oops). But I have a lot of other confirmed pairings in the AUs, I just don’t draw them as often.

Was Starscream veey affected by losing his other Sparks?

He took it about as well as expected, which for Starscream, is not great

He never truly forgave himself for losing them. Not just because of the lives lost before they could even begin, but because their absence left Nova alone. She’ll grow up without siblings, without a built-in support of her own kind. And with no other Seekers her age, or any untrined Seekers at all, her chances of ever finding a trine were painfully slim.

For Seekers, a trine isn’t just tradition; it’s survival. Trines are their foundation, their family, the bond that stabilizes their minds and even their sparks. Flying, fighting, even living is easier, safer, when a Seeker’s spark is in sync with two others. Without a trine of their own, their lives lonelier and for some, unbearable.

So, I was reading through the carriage guide to get inspo for my own characters, and saw that a reason why a new spark could get rejected is due to low compatibility between creators.

So, did Starscream ever have a real risk of loosing Supernova in the early stages due to his poor relationship with Megatron? Was she supposed to be part of a Trine, but was the only one who survived reabsorption?

You got it right on the nail, seekers don’t just create one new spark when they merge, it’s always at least two, most usually three. Starscream was no exception. Supernova wasn’t the only spark he created, she was just the only one who survived. Term one new sparks are very fragile, and the others simply couldn’t withstand the circumstances, the low compatibility, no other merges to draw energy from, the constant stress and the low energon intake.

I’m curious so after both Jazz and Prowl have the twins, Chromia and Ironhide have a sparkling, and Ratchet and Wheeljack are raising the Dinobots is Optimus finally able to convince Elita-1 to have a sparkling together or is she still salty about the whole baby Optimus thing that happened

It’s different for Elita and Optimus. The others all have big responsibilities (I mean Jazz and Prowl practically run half the army) but they’re still not the leaders of the Autobots. Optimus is the Prime, and Elita is his second-in-command. They carry the heaviest responsibility, and the idea of having a sparkling of their own feels like an even bigger weight. Bringing a child into a life as dangerous and complicated as theirs is hard to justify.

And, if Elita’s honest with herself, the whole “Baby Optimus” fiasco left a mark. Watching him get turned into a sparkling, then losing him to the Decepticons, was the most terrified she’s ever been. Even after they got him back, part of her can’t shake the memory of that helpless little guy and how close they came to losing him forever. The thought of having a sparkling of her own stirs up that fear all over again.

Plus! They’re not really… together together. Yes, they’re each other’s person, the one they trust the most. Yes, they understand each other like nobody else can. Yes, they love each other. But they’re not quite official. They’ve wandered into romantic territory plenty of times, but their bond has never been given a label. They’re just… close.

And then there’s B127. He may be old enough to not need a guardian bond, but he’s still really young, and after so long in isolation, he needs guidance to adjust to the real world. Optimus and Elita are more than happy to fill that role. In a way, they’re already raising someone.

and if i suggest that sparklings are they/them until they can decide what they want for themselves ...

Context

It’s definitely a cool idea, I had a headcanon before that sparklings were genderless until they get into their adult frame, where they got to choose mech or femme.

Buuut now I like to think about it more like they literally have no genders, there’s no biological (mechanical?) difference between them since there are no sexes. Pronouns, as well as ‘mech’ or ‘femme’ is something that doesn’t exist in their language and culture, it’s something they adopted from other biological beings (specifically humans) to make it easier for them when communicating. So while to us we see them as ‘he’ or ‘she’, to cybetronians is just ‘them’ or ‘this person’

The irony of Ratchet judging Ironhide's sparkling naming abilities, when they (Ratchet and Wheeljack) named the dinobots Slag and Sludge. (Grimlock, Snarl, and Swoop are decent names tho)

To be fair to Ratchet, Wheeljack named the kids before he even knew they existed. And to be fair to Wheeljack, 1. He was lowkey panicking about the 5 sparklings he had in his hands and what he was going to do with them and 2. He didn’t think the dinobots would get attached to them

Not much of an idea but what if Ironhide is so much worse than Prowl? (Not saying they’d be bad) Like intense mood swings (I know probably don’t make sense but I feel like it sort of fits him and Chromia is just trying to not get strangled)

Actually while carrying Ironhide is super mellowed out. Normally he’s super rowdy, always ready for a fight, just overall a very energetic and out there. But once he got sparked he did a 180 and became super chill most of the time, and he was even harder to get mad than Prowl was when carrying. He had his moments though
