Africa

When Ian lands himself an internship with famous wildlife photographer Mickey Milkovich he can't believe his luck. Spending one month traveling through South Africa with his big hero is a dream come true. The two are off on a wild adventure but there's something mysterious about Mickey who seems to be holding more to his chest than just the tricks of the trade Ian had hoped to learn from him.

Stolen Goods

From the outside Ian and Mickey seem like two ordinary guys. Ian works at an animal shelter while Mickey runs a garage. At least, that's what they tell anyone who asks. Ian's shelter doubles as a front for his side business, selling the priceless artifacts of the museums he robs blind to the highest bidder or the country they came from.

Meanwhile Mickey fixes up cars that have clearly been stolen, no questions asked. Below the counter he deals in green card marriages and weapons. Both men lead dangerous lives. To blow off steam they meet every Sunday night at Roxy's for a casual hook up, only to find that their lives are far more intertwined than they possibly could've imagined.

You Can't Let Your Guard Down

Ian broke up with Ned weeks ago but to his annoyance he keeps showing up at his doorstep, begging for Ian to give him another chance. Fed up, Ian finds himself a bodyguard in the shape of Mickey Milkovich, hired around the clock to protect him. Neither of them realizes how their lives are forever changed by that one decision.

The Devon Creature

It storms when Ian boards the ship that is supposed to sail him out and away from his hometown in Devon, England in 1852. As the ship sinks to the depths of the ocean, and the crew drowns around him, the Merfolk come out to scavenge for the goods they carried on board. It's then Ian looks into cold blue eyes and pleads for his life.

SJ and the Pitfalls of Toxic Masculinity

Liking women wasn’t shameful in the least, but treating a woman as your savior, shrinking into her embrace in search of self-confidence—Shen Qingqiu needed no one to tell him how incredibly shameful that was. So he would rather die than tell anyone, particularly not Yue Qingyuan.

Hot take: og!SQQ had toxic ideas about masculinity, and it ruined him.

SVSSS is all about the ✨Toxic Masculinity✨ but this seems to be more associated with SY than SJ??? So yeah, lets talk about SJ (my poor meow meow).

There’s actually some subtlety here, because talking about SJ and masculinity naturally involves an interplay between historical and modern views on masculinity in China, which is something that has developed over time and has influences from other cultures (e.g. the west and our views on masculinity). (Interesting thing if you haven't already come across it) I am… not qualified to read the subtleties here.

To note, SJ is coded as masculine… sort of. He’s the head of the scholarly peak, a master of the Four Arts, which is one facet of ideal masculinity in traditional Chinese values. (Fluttering a fan around was very gentleman-like. Although also, expressing your emotions through poetry and copious amounts of tears was very masculine back in the day. 'Traditional masculinity' has and always will be an elusive ideal.) But I get the feeling nowadays ‘scholarly’ has more feminine connotations than ‘martial’, albeit a slightly weaker one than in the west. Also, on the topic of toxic masculinity, certain groups of people Who Shall Not Be Named would like you to believe that Real Chinese Men are stoic warriors and ‘gayness is a western thing’ (my rage is unreal but we will not talk about that).

Anyway, broad strokes, broad strokes.

Arrogance and Insecurity

A big part of toxic masculinity is a need for social recognition, to be the ‘alpha male’ (not an ABO pun and on a side note I literally cannot take anyone talking about alpha males seriously now, for many reasons, but this is the funniest).

SJ is obsessed with his cultivation, but more pertinently, he is obsessed with his reputation. He demonstrates this in a few ways. Firstly, he works his ass off, which is not bad in itself, but he does this to the extent it is detrimental to his health (that grindset lol). Secondly, he projects a certain image with his actions and mannerisms: reading in order to seem intelligent, looking down at people to seem superior etc. Thirdly, he responds to any perceived slights of his ability with violence. (Fighting with LQG is an example, but also drawing a sword on SQH when he pointed out that he was reading an upside-down book.)

Now interestingly, the unanimous vibe that Cang Qiong seem to get from SQQ is that he is ‘arrogant’. When in truth, all of this is compensating for his insecurity.

Shen Qingqiu was overly suspicious, always feeling as if everyone was talking behind his back about how he was still incapable of forming a core, didn’t accept his position, wanted to sabotage him in secret, and so on and so forth.

Sadly, SJ is justified in being afraid of other people’s opinion. His comfort and security rely entirely on his status, which in turn rely on other people’s opinion of his competence. Of course he wants to get to the top – he’s been under other people’s power before, and suffered terribly as a result. Why should he not desperately defend what he has worked so hard for? Yet ultimately it works against him, because when he’s in serious trouble, he hasn’t been able to build the human connections he needs to get help.

The problem is with the system. The idea that having strength allows you to do whatever you want hurts not only the people regarded as inferior, but also creates a collective sense of anxiety for those who find themselves ‘at the top’. Anyone can be kicked down and treated like scum. Everyone is afraid.

Dominance and Bullying

The phrase ‘toxic masculinity is fragile’ quite often, but to elaborate, these kinds of rigid ideas of masculinity are by nature constantly under threat. Because any crack in the perfect shell is regarded as failure, it requires constant, aggressive maintenance, which takes the form of bullying the weak in order to elevate oneself.

SJ’s treatment of LBH is complicated, but here I want to draw attention to a different character – Ming Fan.

SQQ (SY) would have you know that MF is not a bad kid, other than the fact he’s a huge bully to LBH. And in part that comes from jealousy of NYY’s crush on him, but what allows it to happen is the way SJ runs the peak. It's interesting to note that so much of SJ's bullying of LBH happens through MF, whether it be giving him the faulty cultivation manual, giving him chores or physically assaulting him. In doing this, SJ creates a system that firmly establishes himself at the top, likely in order to give himself some semblance of security.

But ironically, this is the very system that SJ has suffered under his entire life, recreated to it's extreme on the peak that he controls. When he was completely under the power of others (QJL, LBH) he suffered. When other people were under his power, he inflicted suffering. He encouraged other people to do the same. Again, the whole thing is a scam! He is putting all of his energy into things that aren't helping him, things that ultimately bring him down.

Real Men Don’t Cry – the Dangers of Emotional Repression

SJ has many, very justifiable reasons in life to be upset and angry. The things he went through are both terrible and extremely unfair. Being angry at everything is not a healthy outlet for these feelings, but he hasn’t exactly been taught an alternative either. On the streets, tears would have gotten him absolutely nothing. Anger at least gave him energy to fight back.

And this destroys him. He is angry at the fact he had no one in his life who loved him, his talents were wasted because of QJL/WYZ, nobody takes his abilities seriously… and with no healthy way of expressing this, he goes onto bully LBH. LBH then returns to destroy him, literally. More subtly, he is unable to express his fear and anxiety in healthy ways, so acts standoff-ish and aggressive to his those around him. As his relationship with them deteriorates, his fear and anxiety increases. Feedback loops.

SJ puts on a mask of anger and stoicism to the point that everyone around him (including himself) is convinced that he is unrepentant and evil. Suppresses and suppresses until it breaks him, until he has nothing – not his comfort, nor status, nor the one that he truly cared for:

He had single-handedly facilitated Luo Binghe’s today, and now who had single-handedly created this outcome for him? Yue Qingyuan was never supposed to have an end like this. In order to come to a decades-late appointment, to fulfill a completely useless promise. A broken sword and a dead man. It shouldn’t be like this.

A Note on Ambivalent Sexism

It’s funny because I think there’s a fandom vibe that SJ was the secret feminist of SVSSS. Don’t get me wrong, I love this in fanfics. Badass feminist SJ all the way. But my honest opinion is that I don’t think that was the case.

More explicitly, I don’t think SJ took women seriously. NYY, for example. Certainly, SJ valued NYY. But the expression of this care involved doting on her, hiding his treatment of LBH from her, and not particularly pushing her to grow. And PIDW!NYY wasn’t implied to be the most mature of the lot. Okay, while we don’t know a lot about PIDW!NYY (narrator unreliable), it’s probably safe to say some distance from SJ helped her a lot.

Another point – the Qiu massacre. SJ killed the men, but not the women. And while this says more about his distaste for men, it also indicates (possibly - I will float this idea but I won't die on this hill) that he straight up doesn’t see any woman as an enemy, or capable of being a threat. Which is possibly a natural conclusion he’s drawn from his experiences (QHT was not very perceptive, or very threatening) but also inaccurate as a worldview.

And his attitude towards the women he sees as saviours? Has the same vibe as ‘it’s so embarrassing to be protected by a girl’.

Okay, so being doted on and not being killed are positives compared to being abused or murdered, but this kind of attitude is the opposite side of the same coin to ‘women are incompetent and inferior’. And when it comes to raising kids, not allowing them to grow can be extremely harmful as well. See e.g. Ambivalent sexism.

Although I do want to mention that I do not think SJ was like… actively misogynistic. I think he genuinely liked women more than men. The point is you can be sexist without realising it.

Conclusions

To conclude, SJ had ideas of success and self-worth associated with toxic masculinity which were instrumental in his downfall.

Masculinity doesn’t have to be toxic. While the Cang Qiong family aren’t exactly the healthiest bunch, YQY’s calm and patient leadership, LQG’s steadfast loyalty, LBH’s ability to cry like a maiden and still be the strongest… these are all traditionally masculine traits that can be very positive. These are also people who can have feminine traits and explore their gender identity without being prissy or weak.

It's the great tragedy of SJ that he had many positive characteristics. He was talented, intelligent, articulate, perceptive, loyal, and caring… under the right circumstances, he could have grown into a great person.

And maybe he still had that chance, right until the end.

24. Funniest fandom related story

Ok, dunno if it's that funny but storytime, guys.

When I was a young teen, I had a Skyblog (the frenchies should know what I'm talking about). That was my very first social media, I used to post One Piece fanarts and fanfics, I would read a whole lot of fanfics and original fictions, I got three or four online friends I would talk with (one of them turned out to genuinely despise me and wouldn't say it to my face but that's another story). Long story short, I was kind of a popular blog? Like, it worked well.

So anyway, I ended up closing it coz I grew up and got in highschool and didn't have as much time and just generally didn't care all that much anymore (plus Skyrock ended up dying so no blogs anymore).

In highschool, my class and a few others went to Paris to visit museums and all, and we went there by train. I got bored so I started drawing, and the girl next to me started watching. And watching. And watching.

And suddenly she says "Wait, you're [old handle]?"

The cold dread and cringe I felt. Someone I now knew was familiar with all the shitpost I made when I was 12.

Those ridiculous feelings aside, we had a fun time in that train. We talked about One Piece and I told her what the end of the fanfic I wrote and discontinued was and she was genuinely the sweetest girl ever. I ended up giving her the drawing I was making.

We never really talked after that, but that's definitely the day I realized all those numbers on my screen were actual, real people. That was a shock for my 16 years old self.

The other fun fandom story I have is the one time I've spammed comments so much on all the Twst related fanfic of one author, and did like two fanarts for them, that I ended up making a friend.

Basically I became friends with someone because I was unhinged about their work lol. Tested and approved method 👌

okay, so, it was a lot of fun. i'm not really sure how to get into this but it is definitely a finance movie. there was a lot of business jargon that took some getting used to, but it was also pretty fast paced so it all just sort of glossed over really needing to know what they were talking about. (and as the director/writer said after the film, it really isn't necessary to understand the technicalities).

the next big thing i need to mention is the editing. holy sound effects batman! there's a lot of cutting to stock-esce footage and sound effect over sound effect and sometimes absurd editing and cutting. but besides being a little jarred in the beginning not knowing what i was getting into i think it really worked for what they were trying to show here.

i just can't tell you how wonderful it is to see tom on a giant screen again, i missed this. having tom talk to you for an hour and a half was glorious! gah his voice ☺️🥰 it was very ferris bueller-esce in that way. also he says fuck quite a bit in this film and that was a wonderful treat haha

but it wasn't just bobby (tom's character) who i liked, i grew to really generally enjoy the other characters in the movie. tom has a lot of funny moments of like jim from the office looks to the camera or through his 4th wall breaking, but there are also some really funny moments from all the characters

side note: my fav side character was farouk played by ashwin gore. so keep an eye out for him, he was hilarious. (also the actor showed up to the screening in-character and it was genuinely one of the funniest things ever. he did a song where he mentioned "where is tom blyth" and the little audience waved flashlights.)

anyways, i think there's also a lot of good fic potential for this character, i really want to explore MORE with him. especially since this was more of a fast paced comedy and not like a character exploratory piece

OH ALSO, i really wish they had kept the og title "discussion materials" especially bc it is mentioned in the film several times and i think it would've been a neater bow than bull run.

So a couple of weeks back I was chatting with @kscribbs and I was like I'M OUT OF SCRIMBLE IDEAS! AH! and K went "well listen...if u want suggestions...👀👀👀👀" and she GAVE lmao. So here is the first of FOUR (4) kscribbs suggestions that I am going to call SCRIMBLIES: CHALLENGE MODE because they ARE a little more challenging but we are READY!!! LET'S GO!

ONE OF FOUR: IN WHICH MEL, IN DISGUISE AS A MAN, RUNS INTO JACQUELINE AND THE TWINS DURING THE GREAT FIRE OF LONDON, 1666 EDITION. The weird thing on her elbow is her moustache which has been "lost" in the chaos 🤭🤭

Fashion is fun! Went generic for late 17th century until I found a detailed reference website HERE which has been QUITE the BOON. I think it's pretty on brand that Jacquie is a few decades behind, given this is around the same time as the piracy lol.

Positioning the twins was a BITCH, FINO ESPECIALLY! Lil guy was NOT cooperating, had to remind myself IT'S A SCRIMBLE, DANI and then we (sorta) got it. Fiera is .2 seconds away from escaping and telling Mel all about their exciting night! Mel is just trying to help people, poor dear, running into these three in the middle of an uncontrollable fire 😅😅😅 (side note: think I finally know which colours I want to use for her!)

We've talked about them running into one another during this particular fire of London before, and I think how it actually happens is Fiera runs into a burning building, Fino close behind, while Jacqueline panics. Mel goes to help only to be told IT'S OKAY THEY'RE ALSO ON FIRE as the pair of them burst through the front like SEE? SHORTCUT! and Jacqueline is like FOR YOU TWO MAYBE! And Mel is like THE BUILDINGS ARE GONNA COLLAPSE IF YOU KEEP THAT UP as the building collapses behind them, lmao (or some such similar encounter).

It is very much an "in passing" moment with brief words shared, of which the words in the scrimble are the funniest I could think of lmao. Fiera's excited to be there and Fino's appalled that Jacqueline is lying about their fire (unaware of the ramifications this could have for the pair of them). It is truly a miracle that Jacqueline's hair has A) stayed up and B) is only half melted lmao (especially since she is LITERALLY holding TWO WHOLE FIRES in her ARMS)

Anyway. I am VERY behind. Don't know how that happened. 2 more and I'm caught up for this week! Not only is it KSCRIBBS CHALLENGE MODE it is also a TIMED CHALLENGE apparently lol. Y'all are in for some TREATS

Actually, the funniest thing is that I've always imagined that those two would have a secret relationship and only would start "officially" dating when Deuce graduated nrc. Funny scenario: 19/20 y/o Deuce posting on Magicam that he's in a relationship with Divus and all his notifs are from his friends blasting "ayo? 🤨" Then he gets a text from his mom like "DeeDee, you know I will support you in everything and anything but don't make the same mistakes as I did when I was younger, this is how you were born 😔"

Out of all the first years, Deuce does feel like the type to officially go out with a teacher after graduating lol I can’t explain it, but it feels right in a weird way. Also! His poor mother, this boy just keeps making her worry lol At least Deuce isn’t going to get pregnant, so that should be a relief…

In terms of a relationship… it’s a bit difficult to compare them because both couples are kind of confused within themselves. Greenhill is a bit oblivious about Violet’s feelings, and Lilidia are both confused about them being online friends lol so now I imagine these four looking at each other confused because they don’t know why are they even here and what is going on.

If both ships are established relationships though, it would be a tough fight, because Greenhill and Lilia are both competitive.

GreenViolet could win because Greenhill knows Violet better than Lilia knows Idia. And Lilidia could win because Lilia is a war veteran who would get super excited about winning and then teasing Idia about them being the best couple ever…

The Leech parents would absolutely love Riddle! Both because he is hilarious (so uptight, I mean, upstanding!) and because he is genuinely a surprisingly good pick. Just like you said, he is so polite, so well-educated, at times it almost feels too good to be true, how come Floyd of all people brought home such a good boy? They always expected Jade to be the one…  They’ll absolutely let the boys know about it lol embarrassing all of them.

Riddle would be super nervous and a bit scared, but parents are parents, even if they are scary fish mafia parents. So he has to be respectful and polite. Which is honestly only going to amuse Mama and Papa more – Riddle is so tiny and cute with his baby face and tiny hands and stuff, but oh so serious. He’s like a baby doll… they would woobify him a lot lol and tease him in general, but always try to be stealthy about it. Maybe they just don’t want to scare him away because there is no way Floyd finds someone else similar to Riddle lol

Also! Riddle being a goldfish merman is such a fun theme, I love it when people draw him like that. Floyd really should turn him into a merman, poor Riddle is going to be so confused. He is reversed Ariel lol

Oh Mrs Rosehearts is going to hate this so much… Leaving her alone with Mrs Leech is such a bad idea, because Mama Leech is going to play along at first, complaining about how having sons is such a huge source of stress, how rude and ungrateful they are sometimes, and just how much she wants them to just be good and proper at everything that they do. Mama Rosehearts could even think that they are on the same page at first (even though this Leech woman is way too dramatic…)… Mama Leech would just troll her the entire time, just as she does with everyone she talks to… but she’ll like her a lot, she’ll consider her a good friend afterwards <3 and call her every day.

He got ate one day, completely out of the blue, and went to Janine about it later. She just laughed and told him he’s officially be adopted into the idiot squad.

Speaking of Janine, she’s the only one spared from the constant random noms in the firehouse. Not because shes a full Pred or anything but because they’re afraid of her.

The Gho/stbus/ters might not fear ghosts, but they do fear their dear friend and secretary Janine.

She’s got a shot glass of cocktail swords and toothpicks she wields and wields well when small

Has stabbed Peter on multiple occasions for almost setting his hand on her while she was small

Egon is a Pred lean for science, although not against being ate so long as he’s warned and willing

Ray falls to the prey side but is pretty center. Can and has eaten the others

Peter is a pure switch, like the ass he is

Winston leans Pred, HOWEVER poor dude was stuck getting ate for the first few months after joining the crew

They’re all silly little guys tbh. Thats all.

Dana and Janine talk about how stupid they are all the time after work. They think it’s the funniest thing in the world. The boys? Not so much.

Your Reader AU has my brain going brrr...though im mostly focused on the crack-ish ones.

This gave me an idea (maybe for a fanfic ill wrote muuuuuch later!) like what if Reader is aware of the Links trying to court them and the second they realize that the Chain likes them romantically, they immediately go cold. What if Reader has a long, long history of bad experience with romance and they're just tired and deadeyed. And when they start noticing the Links going yandere, they just laugh, saying "oh look, something new this time!"

the chain try their best but they're just constantly confirming Reader's worst fears.

You passed it back saying you were full already.

Thought they finally decided to back off and leave your friendships the way it was, as just friends.

Time paired you up with him again, giving a curt response about how the inn was short on rooms, sometimes it was that the group just needed to save rupees, and people needed to group up.

You told him you'd just room with Wind then since the young teen wanted to hear another story about your own teenage years full of youthful fun and mischief.

But no.

Sky and Four presented you with an earring they had made together: it was a metallic earing with a red feather hung off the end, crafted just so that the feather was long enough to lightly tickle you cheek and sometimes your neck from time to time.

You haven't worn it once.

They hadn't taken the hint. They've ignored the warning signs. Practically driven over them with a stampeding horse, or a Hinox.

Twilight wrapped his wolf pelt around your form for the tenth time today, reminding you of how cold it was and how he didn't want for you to get sick.

You shrugged it to Wind, reminding Twilight you were fine just like the other nine times he had tried giving you his pelt before.

Just what more did you have to do, what more signals did you need to give them for them to get the hint?!

Hyrule had been hovering over you like a frantic cucco all afternoon, constantly offering to heal you and making sure you were okay after your little trip from a branch on the dirt road.

Once again you showed him the small scratch you had gotten, the one that was already scabbing over, telling him that you were fine, and he should save his energy for an injury that mattered.

You didn't want to sit them all down, outright tell them that you knew what they were all doing and how you wanted it to just stop. So you gave little hints here and there about past relationships that ended not so nicely, about how you were a little wary of dating again.

Wars shooed away a stranger that couldn't get the hint you weren't interested in his advances, wrapping his strong arm around your waist and glaring at the poor sap.

Though your thanks died upon your tongue when the war hero kept his arm there even after the man had left only letting go after you had pried yourself away from his side.

But did they get the fact that you weren't interested with them either? No.

Legend scolded you again, demanding you hand over your favorite shirt that had been slightly damaged by a stray arrow from a bokoblin during a skirmish, so he could fix it up.

Begrudgingly you handed it over, also wanting it to be fixed since it was always so comfy to wear. But you kept an eye on Legend's progress with it and swooped the shirt up with a curt thankyou as soon as he was done with it.

You wouldn't fall for his lies about how he had messed up a stitch or that he wasn't done with the article of clothing like he had done the many other times before.

You knew they were heroes and that maybe they had gotten so used to fixing things or that they just had the sheer will to preserve through all of your shutdowns and mis-directions since they were apparently the bearers of the triforce of courage, but it was getting ridiculous now.

Perhaps you needed to have a straight talk with them, needed to tell them that you weren't interested and that you wanted to just remain friends with them.

After all it's not like you could just up and leave them, as if they would ever allow it. Hyrule, no matter which one you traveled across, was dangerous and you didn't exactly have the survival expertise to even make it a day on your own.

So you just had to deal with the group's antics with the slim hope that they would cool it down after you had a talk with them.

If someone randomly asked me to name the ninth episode of season two of LazyTown, it'd take me forever to remember what it was. So, Pixel TV is pretty much unknown to me.

The episode begins with Sportacus going to his screen, and Pixel is on his screen, telling him he's live in four seconds. Sportacus tells the camera that LazyTown is always moving and so are we. Then he does a buncha cool moves.

In his house, Pixel is managing his antenna and is talking to the LazyTown people on his TV screens. He's set up a LazyTown TV channel with good moves, good food and go, go, go! Stephanie will be doing Sportscandy, Bessie and Milford will be doing news, Ziggy and Stingy will be doing their cooking show (probably the funniest segment), and Trixie's doing a talk show (that's why she called Loud Girl).

Everyone has LazyTown TV, even Robbie, and for some reason, the LazyTown theme song plays on his television. He changes to Bing Bang, he changes to Sportacus eating, he changes to Pixel. And at the end of it all, he says.. 'they have their own TV show?!' and doesn't he know it.

Robbie decides if they can have their own TV shows, he can too - since he's handsome, talented and smart. If you're so smart, try actually coming up with a plan that works. Anyways, he has a mini TV that fits on his arm, and now it's time for Stephanie's show. He says he needs a disguise and goes to.. an empty purple box. It makes more sense when you see all his disguises being dropped via a chute.

Colours is performed, and that song really annoys me because mid-way through there is a random cut to Sportacus. I am all for Sportacus scenes, but I'm also all for LazyTown songs. During the song, Robbie steals almost all her Sportscandy, leaving one strawberry. LOL.

Due to that, she cannot make her Sportscandy Rainbow Smoothie (for some reason she keeps on breathing during every word. Sportscandy *sigh* rainbow smoothie.) & Pixel is going to switch to the news so he gets into his Rob R. Robley costume.

When Stephanie turns the camera on (she films and and has her own TV show.. remind you of a blue elf?), Milford doesn't talk. Pixel tells him to go. He asks, 'Go where?' 'You're on!' 'On where?' Haha. I love this season. Then Stephanie tells him the camera is on and to start reading the LazyTown Good News - Three butterflies on the sports field, and new flowers. This town would be so peaceful if it wasn't for Robbie. Speaking of Rob, he shows up with a fan, that blows away his wig and notes.

It's even funnier when you think that someone who was helping write this episode (I'm guessing Mani) said 'Let's give Milford a wig purely to blow it off.' XD! Now, Robley takes his place (Bessie is visibly angry, showing that she doesn't like him purely to use him).

So he announces a buncha lies - Sports Candy makes you sick and all sports has been outlawed forever. By Pixel's request, Stephanie switches over to Bessie's weather show. But Rob takes that pole thingy Bessie's holding and grabs it so hard she falls.

Rob says 'let's take a look at the weather' & signals for Stephanie to pan the camera up. Once she does, he says 'let's take a look at the weather' once again. WHY IS THIS FUNNY? WHY IS STEFAN SO FUNNY?? He takes off the birds, suns, clouds & adds a bunch of storm and rain, telling everyone it's too dangerous to go outside so they must stay inside doing nothing. Now Trixie's doing her yap show.

She's supposed to have a guest, but doesn't then she starts yelling at Pixel about how she needs a guest. Considering the fact he set up an entire TV channel, I think his brain can comprehend it, Loud Girl. Robbie disguises himself as her guest - some apparently famous dude called Purple Legend. Trixie yells at Pixel as he told her they were gonna have interesting guests (PL got steamrolled!), and PL says he eats ice-cream, cookies and candy all day, sleeps till noon, and Trixie says those are both boring. So, PL jumps on the chair out of anger! LOL!!

Trixie says if he's so interesting, he should do something like sing or juggle or DANCE, and he decides to do some weird Irish leg dance or something. Trixie is laughing. LITERALLY.

PL purposefully bumps into the camera, ending the show since the camera broke. And they switch over to Ziggy & Stingy's cooking show, but for some reason, Stingy can't say anything. He tells Ziggy to introduce the show, which he does. They are going to make a castle with apples, and Stingy tells us the ingredients are apples (WOWZA!), 50 of them. Ziggy corrects him by saying fourty-nine since he's eaten one. But they're interrupted by Chef Robert, who cancels them both.

And he is making the most delicious food in history of food - the sugar candy chocolate candy ice-cream gooey-ooey yummy cake. The ingredients - 2 bars of chocolate, a ridiculously excessive amount of sugar, and the candy. The worst part is that he doesn't even take the wrappers off the chocolate bar, or the lollipops off their sticks. Ziggy says it looks delicious but unhealthy.

Robert asks if he's a chef who went to cooking school wearing a big white hat. The answer is of course, no, and he yells at him to go away. The next step is to put the mix in the fridge, but he steps on an apple he threw on the ground, slips and falls, and now the mix is on his head. Slapstick moment.

Anyways, Steph and Trixie managed to get the camera up and running, and now comes the best of all - Bessie's puppet show. I'm being sarcastic, this sucks.

(During it, Pixel complains since this is being broadcast worldwide.) Robbie sees the puppet show, and he says 'Puppets, now they've gone too far!' LOL. He decides now he has to stop the TV station once and for all, and he does that.. with a gorilla outfit. And the way he does it? Instead of scaring him into stopping it, he CLIMBS UP PIXEL'S ANTENNA AND SHAKES IT.

The TV's now all glitchy and stuff, but he shakes too hard and almost falls down. Luckily, Sportacus appears (where ya been dude?) to save the gorilla. Milford is going live with LazyTown Good News. This is sure to make headlines! Milford asks the gorilla what he's doing up there, and he RESPONDS with 'I'm breaking this antenna forever!' But when he falls, Sportacus attaches a hook to Pixel's roof, causing it to open so the gorilla lands in his house. Once he does, the head falls off, and it's revealed that Robbie was doing all this nonsense instead of .. just.. not watching TV.

It turns out well in the end as Milford tells everyone it's just Robbie, Sportacus goes back, & Stingy films Steph doing the Bing Bang. No Sportacus power jump unfortunately. In the lair, Robbie is attempting to forget about the day with ice-cream, but a news report about the day is played on the channel.

And he yells. THE END!

The positive stuff

The voice acting was amazing if there's one that they'll get right it's everything that has to do with the voice work

There were actually some funny parts in the episode

Vortex is literally like one of four genuinely good characters in this entire franchise he just seems like a dude that would actually be cool to hang with

Finally, 40% of that song bee sung was good and the visuals were amazing

Ok so I'll get one thing that confuses me about this entire world out of the way. This is less of a criticism or nitpick but more of a genuine question.

How the hell(lol) does time work in hell? Is there like a day night cycle? Are there hell timezones?? Is there a hell sun and moon??? How does time work in different rings???? Why do I keep increasing the question marks with each question I ask?????

But in all seriousness I just realized that there's time in hell so that's kinda weird to me

Ok now time for the actual critiques

I'll start with that God awful cotton candy song. Now to be honest I've never really liked Kesha. I don't hate her but she won't be on any of my playlists. I think she didn't technically sing the song but it's a Kesha song. Remember how I said I liked 40% of the song? Well that's because the chorus literally ruins the other 60%. It's so shitty and repetitive. Like saying two words over and over again is cocomelon levels of songwriting. Normally the chorus is the best part of a song but nope not here 💀

Bee as a character is very confusing in my opinion. Like when blitz was drinking himself to death why did she look sad?? She is the literal embodiment of gluttony. Like this part is genuinely annoying me the most why does she even care that he's getting black out drunk at a literal party? Is that not the point of those? And he has someone that could take him back home if needed so she should be even less worried. In my opinion it would've made more sense for tex to be the only one who cared about him.

Another thing that kind of annoys me is how much of an asshole loona is being for no reason. Bee showed her nothing but kindness and even was worried about her father but then she starts getting defensive for no reason?? Like girl you do realize you're lowkey picking a fight with a SIN.

Oh yeah and that girl that was bothering loona in the beginning of the episode was pretty much the average vivziepop female character. Bitchy and sassy for no reason and also did we mention she's skinny and white coded.

Luckily the last part of the episode was the funniest. When blitz starts breaking down on the couch I'm pretty sure everyone reading this had the exact same reaction as me LOL

Final thoughts

In all this episode was a waste of time and a strange diversion from the previous episode. The fact that this is a season finale is an insult to not only the fans but also all the episodes that came before it. This is more like an extra that should've been a short (like five minutes long). It would've worked much better. Or how about a better idea? Continue the plotline started last episode. This episode was a horrible way to introduce one of the most important figures in hell. 😭

Tbh I'm kinda dreading the next episode because I heard it was horrible and when the show started to decline but that's for tomorrows me to deal with

Why the hell can’t they just talk man omg this is so fucking realistic and frustrating at the same time. I mean, from what I heard doumeki was very silent and also rough which is not a bad thing. If we think about it he was in the moment and I guess seeing yashiro under him after so long was intense, so I don’t blame him one bit. I have to be honest on this tho, I didn’t expect for things to turn out like this. Doumeki is still in his acting career moment if you know what I mean and I feel yashiro is being the only one honest with himself and his feelings which is great and also VERY surprising. He did what he had to do tbh, he had is reaction, he let doumeki kiss him, he deepened the kiss, he hugged him and also during the banging session he tried to be more active so in my opinion doumeki needs to be a little less afraid of what Yashiro reaction could be and more perceptive. The real main issue here is that yashiro was expecting something else which is amazing but doumeki doesn’t know that, so now he’s wondering if doumeki and that woman are really a thing and if he is only gentle with her. The funniest thing of all is that he saw those famous contact lenses and got jealous once again because that woman is still on his mind 24/7. I really don’t know how things are going to develop after this sex scene but it will be very interesting.

Honestly, I don’t think Doumeki was being rough at all lol. That was just regular sex between two people that like each other imo. The first time they did it, it was extremely romantic because they admitted their feelings for the first time, but that kind of atmosphere doesn’t always happen when you have sex; having sex with the person you love for the first time is always more special. It’s normal that not every sexual encounter is going to be super lovey-dovey. They definitely took it down a notch on the fluff, but this time around they were still kissing and touching. Doumeki gave Y oral and moved him to the bed pretty quickly to make him feel more comfortable. It was passionate sex, but a different kind of passion from before, because this time they already know each other’s bodies, which means they didn’t feel the need to explore. This time it was about reconnecting and fulfilling this sexual desire they’ve been pushing down for years. They both clearly missed the other's body and wanted to be physically close as fast as possible. In other words, they were pent up and got straight to business. And it wasn’t just Doumeki that was going in on the action- Yashiro was grinding on Doumeki’s lap while they kissed in chapter 51. Not to mention that the sexual tension between them was already building up in the days leading up to this moment. What I’m trying to say is, they desperately wanted to have sex.. I mean Yashiro literally came when Doumeki entered; Doumeki couldn’t even continue the foreplay once he saw Yashiro desperately calling his name. They were craving this, which is why it was so intense and fast, but definitely not rough. I actually thought this chapter was romantic. They were doing it from the front and Yashiro didn’t complain about it. Doumeki initiated another kiss and Yashiro came again right after. Speaking of kissing.. they did at least four separate times, that we know of. Their hands were interlaced at one point. Yashiro dared to touch Doumeki’s head and shoulders, when normally he acts like his hands are tied.

The only thing that would’ve made this “officially” romantic is if Yashiro and Doumeki knew each other’s real feelings and/or changes. Sure, Yashiro thought Doumeki wasn’t being “kind,” but that’s because he assumes that Doumeki has a girlfriend, and it’s clouding his judgement. Yashiro is used to extremely painful sex, so I highly doubt he was in pain while they were literally making LOVE. Knowing what we know about Kido and Ryuuzaki’s lack of sexual stamnia, Yashiro is probably sore because he’s old and his muscles aren’t used to having sex for too long. Bottomline, I think this chapter was another success for their relationship and I’m super excited and optimistic. Also, I’m very sure Yashiro recognized the contact lens case based on his expressions. ALso, big bonus for me was Yashiro and Nanahara’s phone call. Thanks for the ask!

I want to liveblog a show again and since a few shows ended and I have the bandwidth to add a couple more shows so I’m back with another liveblog. This time it’s I Saw You In My Dream. The opening is cute.

Okay. This is subject to change but right off the bat, not a fan of Yu. Just very…boys I went to high school with. I don’t see what’s so funny. But I do like the little drawings. I love when shows do the little drawings like this.

NOT JOY TO THE WORLD NO. I hate this Christmas carol so much. I have for my whole life. It is a known thing to my family. I have to suffer it every year at the one and only church service I go to. 1. when did you first watch/discover good omens, and how did you find out about it?

I started watching somewhere last year, I think in late summer/early fall. As for why? My boyfriend! We're both neurodivergent, and if you think my Good Omens hyperfix is bad, his is worse. I finally let him bully me into watching it and it became a hyperfix that eventually evolved into a SpIn.

4. what is (if you read) your favorite good omens longfic?

Ok, I considered a little white lie here, but I'll be honest; it's you'll never be lonely (you're my only one) by ladydragona and SylWritesStuff. Omegaverse has always fascinated and comforted me, and this is probably one of the best I have read in any fandom, and definitely the best out of Good Omens. I love the ineffables' relationship in it and Warlock's characterization. I could rattle on abt this fic for paragraphs upon paragraphs but I'm not gonna do that to save everyone's sanity lol

5. what is (if you read) your favorite good omens one-shot?

Ok this one was hard because I read far more one-shots then longfics but after digging through my bookmarks, ultimately, it's i am just the (new invention) by littlesnowpea. It's cracky, it's sweet, Crowley is oblivious and Aziraphale's a bastard. I clocked him from the very beginning so the "YouTube comments" were and still are some of the funniest bits of any fanfiction I've read

7. what is your favorite underappreciated quote?

Help my memory is dying. Uh. I do not know that many quotes so it's probably not underappreciated but maybe one would be Crowley's "Lovely knowing you all. May we meet on a better occasion." From the body swap. It kinda gets drowned out by Gabriel's infamous line directly after but it always sends chills down my spine. Crowley's got Aziraphale down to such a science that he knows, without a doubt, that even when being faced by death, he'd fawn. He'd be polite. It's powerful.

14. what is your favorite good omens-coded song?

18. what is your favorite moment through history, and why?

It's a basic bitch answer and I know it's a basic bitch answer but it's the 1941 church scene, ok? Nothing can beat it for me.

24. what's a theory for season 3 that you NEED to be included?

Crowley's gonna be mean. Like. Really mean. And while I know we all want and need(heh) them to get their happy ending, it's not gonna be right away. I want to see that anger, that frustration, that pain. I also want Aziraphale to snap at some point. I want them to know just how much they've hurt each other so they can actually work on fixing it.
