Summary: [Christmas Special (2005)] The Doctor's regeneration has left him unconscious for the unforeseeable future. Now, with an invasion on the horizon, (Y/n) is pushed onto the frontlines on their own for the first time.
Author's Note: I did a poll to decide what episode I should write about next and this episode won. I hope I've made you guys proud. If you have a doctor/series/episode you want to see in the future, just let me know.
Y'all. I need you to trust me here. I know what I'm doing.
MORE OF THIS OC HERE!
---------------------
It was as if there was no pause between the burst of regeneration energy and the Doctor's attempt to fly the TARDIS.
As if nothing had happened at all.
But it was clear that something had. Something fundamentally had changed about him. Some wires were still waiting to be properly connected. I could see it. It was in how he was stumbling and frantically glancing between things on the console. He wasn't ready. Not yet.
"Doctor, move," I said, stepping toward the console.
"I- I'm just trying to land," he replied, still scrambling.
"I know, but you are fresh off of a regeneration, this is-" my sentence was cut off by the TARDIS jerking to the side harshly. "Doctor, get away from the console, now!"
He stopped as soon as I raised my voice at him.
I moved around him, flipping a few switches to try to undo some of the chaos he had caused. I wasn't doing a great job, but I had most of it under control. There was one more crash before the machine finally stopped moving.
I ran over to Rose, who had fallen during the earlier chaos. "You alright?"
"What... What's happened to him," she asked quietly. "What's this regeneration thing?"
I watched the Doctor go stumbling out through the doors. "I... I'll explain in a bit. As soon as I know that he's not going to do something stupid."
I ran outside, making it through the door just as the Doctor fainted. I glanced between Jackie and Mickey. They both stared at me in shock. I knelt down, checking that he was alright.
"What happened," I looked up to see Rose in the doorway. "Is he alright?"
"Should be," I replied.
"He just keeled over," Mickey added. "Who is he? Where's the Doctor?"
"That's him," Rose explained. "That's the Doctor."
"What do you mean, that's the Doctor?" Jackie said.
"I'll explain in a bit, but can we first get him inside, please," I pleaded.
It took a bit of work, but we managed to get the Doctor upstairs and into bed. I don't know how they did it, but they managed to get him into a pair of pajamas while I was searching around the apartment for something that could help.
"I... I don't wanna know," I muttered when I walked into the room and saw him. "Do you have anything I can use?"
"Like what," Rose asked.
"Stuff to check vitals. Anything will be better than nothing."
Jackie let out a gasp. "I've got something. Be back in a tick!"
I barely had a chance to blink before she went running out of the room. I sat down next to the Doctor, letting out a small sigh as I looked at him.
"Are you going to explain what's going on now?" Rose muttered, leaning on the doorframe.
"He regenerated," I said. "It's a normal process for Time Lords. The body senses that it's near death and finds a way to fix itself. Losing consciousness like this isn't entirely normal. It happens sometimes. Usually, it means the whole process wasn't complete during the initial regeneration. His cells are still burning and regrowing. They're settling."
"But he'll be alright?" she replied.
"I hope so," I mumbled.
Jackie ran back in a few moments later, rambling about some neighbor of hers. She handed me a stethoscope. I placed the ends in my ears before pressing the flat piece to his torso, moving to check both hearts.
"I still think we should take him to a hospital," Jackie noted.
"We can't," Rose argued before I could. "They'd lock him up. Dissect him. One bottle of his blood could change the course of the human race."
"But-"
"You would trust human doctors with no experience of this situation while I am here and the only being alive that shares his anatomical makeup," I asked.
"I didn't-"
I shushed her, going back to listening to the Doctor's hearts. "Good. Both working fine. We'll just have to wait."
"Both?" Jackie replied.
"They've got two hearts," Rose explained. "Each."
"Really?"
I nodded.
"Anything else you lot have two of?"
"Ew," I murmured. "Come on. We need to let him rest. Finish the process."
Rose sighed, pausing a moment. "Could make tea?"
I chuckled. "Is that just a natural human response? Making tea when things are going wrong?"
"Mostly just the English," Jackie shrugged.
I nodded. "I see..."
I followed the two of them out of the room. As soon as they made it to the kitchen, Jackie seemed to be berating Rose with questions when she should have been asking me. Rose didn't know anything about this. She was already dealing with so many emotions. It wasn't fair.
"Stop it," I said firmly. "If you have questions, ask me. Don't torment her."
Jackie huffed. "I just want some answers."
"Rose isn't gonna have them," I replied. I looked at Rose, who looked back at me with tears in her eyes. "Hey..."
"I thought I knew him," she muttered. "I thought me and him were..."
The way her voice trailed off broke my hearts. I took a breath before speaking, "He may have changed, but his memories didn't. Who he cares for, what he believes in... they're built on more than his physical form. Those kinds of things are built on experiences. His favorite food might change, but not something as deep as his thoughts and feelings about you or me or anyone. He'll most likely still see you in the same way he did."
I was caught off guard by her hugging me tightly. I hesitantly wrapped my arms around her, closing my eyes as she hid her face in my shoulder. There was a long silence as we sat in that hug.
She leaned back, wiping her eyes. She looked at her mother. "The big question is... where'd you get a pair of men's pajamas from?"
"Howard's been staying over," Jackie replied, turning back to the counter.
"What, Howard from the market?"
I chuckled a bit as I turned around. I had never known a race to spend as much time gossiping as humanity. In some strange way, I admired it.
I glanced at the TV in the main room. "Is that Harriet Jones?"
Rose followed me out of the kitchen when she heard me speak up. "Why is she on the telly?"
"She's Prime Minister now," Jackie explained. "I'm 18 quid a week better off."
"Britain's Golden Age," I said quietly. "This is it."
"That's what they've been calling it," Jackie shrugged. "I keep on saying my Rose has met her."
"Did more than that," Rose replied. "Stopped World War III with her."
I furrowed my eyebrows as the report carried on. "Space probe... humans... always reaching for more."
"I thought you'd be a fan of exploration."
"As long as it doesn't draw in any unwanted attention."
Rose and Mickey left later that evening. Something about Christmas shopping.
I split my time between checking on the Doctor and awkwardly trying to help Jackie while she rambled on the phone to a friend.
It all felt... slow. Time was something that I was used to being able to somewhat ignore. It wasn't an important factor to me. I could bend it to be as fast or slow as I wanted, but now... all I could do was wait. Sit and wait.
It was infuriating.
It was a little while later that Rose and Mickey barged in, yelling at Jackie to get off the phone. I furrowed my eyebrows at them.
"What's going on," I asked.
"It's not safe. Someone- something is after the Doctor," Rose explained quickly. "We've got to get out. Where can we go?"
"My mate Stan. He'll put us up," Mickey suggested.
"That's only two streets away" Rose replied. "What about Mo? Where's she living now?"
"I don't know, Peak District," Jackie answered.
"We'll go to cousin Mo's then," Rose replied.
"It's Christmas Eve, we're not going anywhere!" Jackie exclaimed. "What are you babbling on about?"
"Where'd you get that tree," Rose asked. "That's a new tree. Where'd you get it?"
"I thought it was you," Jackie said.
"You accepted a new tree when you didn't know who sent it?" I chimed in. She paused for a moment. "Get the Doctor to the TARDIS and we can go anywhere in time and space. Escaping to a different planet will be better than a different... district or whatever."
The lights started turning on. And then, the branches started spinning.
"Go, now!" I shoved them all out of the main room.
Rose sprinted into the Doctor's room. I followed her, shoving Mickey and Jackie in with me. The two of them shoved a dresser in front of the door while I started rummaging through the pocket of his leather jacket.
I let out a relieved breath when I found the sonic screwdriver.
It was perfect timing.
The robotic tree had broken through the door. The others had quickly backed away from the door.
I picked up my arm and pressed the button on the screwdriver. I shielded my face as the tree blew up.
"You guys alright," I said, scrambling to the other three.
They all nodded, each clearly still in shock about the entire event. I made it to the Doctor, checking his pulse to make sure that he wasn't somehow hurt during the whole event. He seemed fine... and then I saw a puff of regeneration energy escape from him.
"No," I muttered to myself. "No, no, no!"
"What is it," Rose asked.
I ran outside, stopping at the railing when I saw a collection of Santa-looking robots standing on the ground below us. Rose was right behind me, along with the other two.
"What are they?" she whispered to me.
I shushed her quietly before lifting my hand, pointing the sonic screwdriver at them. They seemed to recognize the situation they were in. They moved closer to each other and teleported away. Presumably back to their ship.
"They've just gone," Mickey said. "What kind of rubbish were they?"
I raised an eyebrow at him.
"I mean, no offense, but they're not much cop if a sonic screwdriver scares them off."
"They're pilot fish," I replied. "They're being controlled by something else... someone else. Like the tree. Toy soldiers, robots."
"And that gold dust we saw?" Rose pushed.
"Regeneration energy," I explained. "I... I didn't think he was releasing it and now that I didn't see it, I don't know how long or how much he's expelled. Time Lords are powerful and there are creatures who know that."
"They can find him?"
"Pilot fish were what attacked you earlier, weren't they?"
She nodded.
"That's why. They found out where the energy was and knew that they needed to destroy his 'guardians' to get to him. Either use him or kill him or... just experiment on him. We walked away from something that we weren't meant to survive. There are a few species with a few questions."
"What do we do?"
"Nothing. You lot go inside. Protect yourselves. Watch telly, have tea, do whatever it is humans do in a crisis that they can't fix."
"What about you," Rose asked, going to grab my arm.
"I'm going to the TARDIS," I explained. "If there are pilot fish here, then there's something coming. Something strong. I need to figure out what it is."
"You're just gonna go running off?"
"If I need to, yeah."
"I'm not gonna let you do that!"
"It's not your choice!"
"And why is that?"
"Because I am not going to be the one to get you killed!"
She froze.
"Go inside. Take care of the Doctor. Let me handle this."
I turned and walked away before she could say anything else.
I made it to the TARDIS. I scrambled around the console. I found faint traces of the regeneration energy. Along with it was the signal from the new space probe that had been sent up earlier that night. I furrowed my eyebrows. That couldn't be right.
I watched the signal's trajectory. It had been lost at some point. It was around the same place that the regeneration energy seemed to disperse.
"Who is up there..."
I flicked a switch, tuning into the news about the space probe. I saw the head of the mission scrambling, trying to explain away the loss of contact.
"You are terrible at de-escalating," I muttered.
It was then that the signal was interrupted. Through the static came an image of four creatures. I leaned in a little bit closer. The creature suddenly growled at the screen and then the image was gone.
"Well... shit," I murmured, frantically reaching for a few more buttons.
It was a matter of minutes before Rose stormed through the door. "Did you see that?"
"Yes," I answered. "How's the Doctor?"
"Pale, sick."
"Oh...," I mumbled. "It's okay. He'll be okay."
Rose looked down for a moment. "What... What was that thing?"
"I'm not sure," I replied. "I didn't get a clear enough image. But... I know something. I was tracking the trace of regeneration energy that the Doctor has been emitting and it is going to the same place as the probe's signal is coming from."
"So... mars?"
"No," I shook my head. "The probe never made it that far. It's 5,000 miles above it. It's a spaceship. The probe is onboard and they're tracking the energy, coming this way. That puts the entire planet at risk."
"Can't we go stop them before they get here?"
"No. If they're looking for a Time Lord, then handing them a piece of Time Lord technology would be reckless at best."
"But if they get to the Doctor-"
"I won't let that happen!"
"Are you sure? Because you don't seem to be doing much to stop them!"
"Rose, they will kill you. They will kill me. They will kill the Doctor. We don't know what they want, so I'd like to not hand them one of the most sophisticated pieces of space and time travel equipment to ever exist!"
She huffed and turned around, going to storm out.
I closed my eyes and dug the heels of my palms against them.
I was just trying to protect her... protect everyone. I just... I didn't know how to do that on my own. I had become so accustomed to having someone to bounce my ideas off of. I was lost. Stuck. I didn't know what to do yet.
I had spent ages continuing to try to get some kind of answer when the screen turned to static again.
Those four aliens were there again. One of them started speaking again, but the TARDIS wasn't translating.
"Hey, hey," I said quietly. "I know that I'm not him, but I'm still Gallifreyan. I can still fly you. You can still work with me."
The video replayed. This time, the voices were translated. "People, you belong to us. To the Sycorax. We own you. We now possess your land, your minerals, your precious stones. You will surrender or they will die. Sycorax strong, Sycorax mighty, Sycorax rock!"
"'They'," I repeated the word to myself. "Who are you talking about?"
I tried to search for any sign of who they could be talking about.
It was hours before another message came through. One of the Sycorax stuck their hand out. A blue light emitted from it. The image disappeared after that.
"Nice to know that humanity wasn't slow to do something stupid," I muttered to myself. It was a harsh assumption, but it was a valid one.
I ran outside only to be met with a crowd of people walking by me. I furrowed my eyebrows as the blue light shined around their heads. I saw Rose up on the landing outside her door. We shared the same look with each other.
I followed her and Mickey to the roof of the building.
There was an entire fraction of the population standing on the edge. Each seemingly ready to jump. I stepped back, running my hands over my face.
"What is it? What's going on?" Rose said, grabbing my arm.
"I... I don't know," I mumbled. "It... I have an idea but... it can't be. I want to believe that the top minds in your country are not stupid enough to do something that would allow it."
"What is it?"
"Mickey, can you still get access to the military's files?"
He nodded. "Yeah. Yeah, of course, I can."
"I need you to get any information you can on that probe. Now. I can't work on it on my own."
"He left us," Rose muttered. "This is the time when we need him the most and he left us. He left... He left me."
"Rose, look at me," I grabbed her hands. "I have known the Doctor maybe as long as you have. I know one thing though... he is never going to abandon you. I promise."
"How do you know that?"
"Isn't it obvious?"
Mickey chimed in before the conversation could continue, "Come on!"
We ran back down the stairs to the ground level. As soon as we had made it outside, I turned to Mickey, "Go get your computer and then come straight back here. We'll work in the TARDIS. Rose, you're gonna go up and watch the Doctor. If something happens, then you call-"
My instructions were cut off by a loud boom. Any glass nearby had broken, shattering all over the ground near us. I covered my head and squatted down to cover myself, yelling for the others to get down as well.
"What the hell-"
"A spaceship just entered your atmosphere," I said as I scrambled to stand up. "Sonic wave."
"What do we do," Rose asked.
I looked up as the spaceship flew overhead. It stopped just above us. "Get the Doctor to the TARDIS. Now. It's the safest place for him now. I'm sorry that we didn't do it sooner, but we need to move."
I watched as the trio scrambled to get the Doctor and Jackie's supplies into the TARDIS. She ran out to get the rest of the food, even though I yelled at her not to go.
"What now?" Rose said.
"I... I'm not sure," I replied. "I'm... I'm not usually the only one coming up with ideas at this point."
"But you're clever. I've seen you; you are clever. You... You were said you were trained for wartime."
"A war. I was trained for a war on one planet with different conditions and tools and-"
"And they never taught you to adapt? To do... I don't know... peace talks and things?"
I paused for a moment. "Do you trust me?"
"With my life."
I leaned forward and flicked a switch.
"What was that?"
"I let out a signal. There's no way the TARDIS would be able to land on the ship, but I could get them to teleport the TARDIS onto the ship."
"You're gonna talk to them."
I nodded. "I'm gonna try... see if that theory of mine was correct."
I took a deep breath, going to walk toward the doors. I rolled my shoulders back and tilted my chin up a bit. I pulled the door open, letting out a sigh of relief when I found myself on the spaceship.
Harriet Jones was standing there with her assistant.
"Harriet Jones," I said, a grin forming. "You are a sight for sore eyes."
"I could say the same to you," she muttered, hugging me. "Is the Doctor with you?"
"Not exactly," I replied as I stepped back. "But if you trust me, I can handle this."
I stepped ahead of the group, facing the Sycorax leader as bravely as I could.
"You. You have the clever box," the presumed leader spoke up.
Harriet's assistant tried to translate for me, but I stopped him. "I can understand him."
"How," Rose asked.
"TARDIS has a stronger psychic connection with the Doctor but I am still the same species as him. I may not be able to expand its reach like he seemingly can, but I don't need him to be able to use the translation."
"Silence!" the Sycorax shouted.
"Alright," I muttered.
"You speak for this planet!"
"Yes."
"You will understand my wishes."
"Surrender, correct?" I replied. "Basic signs of obedience in your eyes. Harriet, what did he ask for? Some of the population?"
"Half," she answered.
"Half to be used for their own benefit," I turned back to the Sycorax. "Half to be used as slaves in exchange for letting a third live."
"Correct," the Sycorax said.
"Why Earth?"
There was a silence.
"There are millions of planets that are far more advanced. That," I pointed at the TARDIS, "isn't human technology. There are other planets more beneficial to you, if you're looking for resources. And many are ready for the taking. These people are barely scratching the surface of space exploration and you're exploiting it. There's a whole planet renowned for being quick to surrender, why not go there?"
"We want the Earth," the leader said.
"But why," I pushed. "Why can't you just leave these people alone?"
He didn't respond.
"And then there's the third of the population," I continued, going to step around him. "I have a theory of course, but... oooooh, great."
I ran up the steps.
"Look at that! A big red button! Control matrix. Tell me, if I look under here, will I find a little bowl of blood?"
"Step away from that!"
"Alright," I held my hands up before leaning down, going to open the center console.
"That was English," Rose said.
"Well, yes, Rose, I speak English," I replied, still looking at the control matrix. I dipped my finger into the small bowl. "A+!"
"No, the Sycorax spoke English. I understood him," Rose explained.
I stood up, turning to look at her. "What?"
"He... He told you to step away from the controls, right? I understood him!"
"That means the TARDIS is translating for you again," I took a few steps closer.
The TARDIS doors behind them creaked open, revealing the Doctor in his pajamas and a robe.
"Took your sweet time, didn't you?" I crossed my arms.
"Could say the same to you," he shrugged as he stepped out.
The Sycorax tried to attack him, but it didn't work out well. Instead, the Doctor grabbed the weapons that the creature had and simply tossed them away. Being fresh off regeneration energy either made him stronger or dumber, I wasn't certain which one yet.
"Now, give me a moment. I am busy," he said to the leader before turning to the group of four that was now behind him. "Mickey! Hello!"
That was the happiest he had ever been to see Mickey.
"And Harriet Jones, MP for Flydale North. Blimey, it's like This is Your Life."
"Harriet Jones, Prime Minister," I corrected.
"I see," he grinned. "Tea! That's all I needed. A good cup of tea."
I almost chuckled at the idea.
If there was one thing about the Doctor that didn't change at all, it was his ability to talk. He ranted and rambled and jumped between different tones of voice. He talked about little he knew about himself now. He was a clean slate with nothing known yet.
I had regenerated before, but I had never thought about the process before. Truly, I never had the time. I was kind of thrown from one thing to the other. Getting confused after regenerating never made it onto my schedule.
"Doctor," I called from the steps.
"Yeah?" he turned to me. "Oh, I interrupted you. Go on. Bet you were doing brilliantly."
"Oh, you didn't interrupt at all," I shook my head. "It's just that, well, if I were to find a big red button, then I would know better than to press it. However, a Time Lord fresh off a regeneration may not be so rational... considering he's figuring himself out and everything."
"You're right," he replied. "Does the very rational one happen to know what the button does?"
"It's operating a blood control system."
"No!" he exclaimed excitedly, running over to me. "I haven't seen blood control in years."
"I've only read about it. Similar to hypnosis, yeah?"
"Exactly," he nodded. "When'd you work that out?"
"It was a running theory when I saw everyone on the roof. If they could control any chunk of the population, then why would they not make it half alive for a half enslaved? Why only a third?"
"Oh, you are so clever."
"I know," I shrugged. "So... what do you think?"
"Well, here's the danger with a freshly regenerated Time Lord," the Doctor looked at the Sycorax. "I truly don't know who I am. So... if I see a great big threatening button which should never, ever, ever be pressed, then I just wanna do this."
The Doctor slammed his hand down on the button.
I heard the others yelling at him.
"You killed them!" Harriet's assistant said.
I turned to the leader of the Sycorax. "Are they dead?"
"We allow them to live," he grumbled.
"Oh, please," I rolled my eyes. "He couldn't kill them. He had no choice. When I said blood control was like hypnosis, I was being honest. You can't hypnotize someone into doing something that they'd never do such as kill themselves. Humans operate on an evolutionary basis that forces them to protect their genes, so the fight-or-flight system kicks in."
"Everyone's okay," Rose asked.
"Everyone's okay," I nodded.
"Blood control was one form of conquest," the leader spoke up. "I can summon the armada and take this planet by force."
"Which brings me to my question again, why? Can't you just leave them alone?"
"Or what?"
"Or... I'll stop you."
"How do you plan on doing that?"
I looked at one of the soldiers next to me before rushing over and grabbing the sword on his waist.
I stepped back, getting away from the crowd.
I poised the sword out toward the leader. "I challenge you."
"(Y/n)," the Doctor scolded. The Sycorax laughed loudly as he stormed over to me. "This is incredibly stupid. Reckless."
"No, it's not," I replied. "This is what I was trained for. I existed before you met me, Doctor. You need to remember that."
He stepped away from me slowly.
"You're just gonna let (Y/n) do this?" I heard Rose mutter.
"I can't stop them," the Doctor replied.
I looked at the leader of the Sycorax again.
"Am I right that the sanctified rules of combat still apply," I asked.
The leader unsheathed a sword of his own. "You stand as this world's champion?"
"Proudly. Do you accept my challenge?"
The crowd roared around us.
We both took a knee, swords next to us.
"For the planet?" the leader tilted his head slightly as he spoke. He was taunting me.
"For the planet," I confirmed.
We stood up.
I could barely remember who actually took the first swing.
I was beginning to realize that I hadn't been in a fight so similar to what I had originally been training for.
I could just remember the technology, the instructions, the fake wounds. It was as if with every swing, my blood started boiling more and more. I hadn't felt like this in a long time.
I could remember the days when I felt that every day.
Fake Daleks, fake Cybermen, fake monsters, fake gods. I could see them all so vividly. In between the visions were the familiar flipping of pages and frantic searching and reading. The tests and quizzes and practices.
Oh, I was furious. It was making me sloppy.
I ran onto the outside platform of the ship as I found myself getting angrier and angrier.
I needed to be able to focus on one target. I needed to bring myself back to the current moment. To recognize that this was not fake. That this was not every evil being that I had been forced to face, but was one being. One thing that wanted to have more power than he deserved.
I also needed to get out of the crowd as soon as I could. That crowd could turn on me the moment I won. My victory could last a matter of moments before they turned on me entirely.
I learned how much the leader of the Sycorax valued straightforward aggression. He wanted the anger. The yelling and wild thrashing that seemed more calculated than they were.
I had learned long ago how to adapt to someone like that.
This means that despite any scratches and bruises, I was more in control than he thought.
So, when I squatted down and swung my leg so I could knock him off his feet, he was the only one surprised.
I stood above him, only leaning down to throw his sword as far away as I could. I pressed the tip of my blade to his throat. His head was hanging off the platform. I could have turned him into an example for the entire human race and Sycorax alike.
"I win," I said.
"Then, kill me," the leader's words were hoarse.
"I was raised as a weapon," I explained. "I was created to fight. To stop any threat that could have come my way. But mercy... I had to learn that. And it took me so long to perfect."
I pushed a little harder.
"So do not take it for granted when I offer it to you now," I warned. "I will spare your life as long as you listen to this command. Leave this planet and never return. Is that understood?"
"Yes."
"Swear on the blood of your species."
"I swear."
"Good."
I stepped back, pulling the blade away from the leader's neck.
I turned around to see the Doctor walking over to me already. I let him pull me into a tight hug, making sure to keep the blade away from either of our bodies.
Rose ran out just behind him. I smiled widely as I went to hug her.
"I told you that you could do this," she muttered to me. "I told you that you were clever."
"Thank you," I mumbled back.
She stepped back.
"We should go. Now."
The Doctor smiled for a moment. "Sounds like- (Y/n), look out-"
I turned around. The leader came running at me, shouting as he went to attack me. I slammed my blade through his torso. I pulled the blade up and twisted it slightly.
"I warned you," I murmured to him before shoving him down. I dragged the blade out of him. "I... I tried to warn you."
"Hey," Rose touched my back. "Come on. It's done. It's over."
"No. Not yet."
I stormed into the main hall, staring up at the collection of Sycorax. I slammed the sword into the ground.
"I am this planet's champion, and you will heed my command. You are to leave this planet and never return for the rest of time. And I would advise you to take this battle as a warning. A warning that you will spread among the stars. As you speak of Earth and its people and all that it could offer, ensure that you tell them all that this planet is- and always will be- protected."
The Sycorax's teleport sent us all back to the surface after that.
I watched in silence as the ship began to fly away. I let out a shaky breath as tears pricked the corners of my eyes.
"(Y/n)," I turned to the Doctor.
"I killed someone," I murmured. "Directly, I mean. I... I wasn't just there. It wasn't some misguided attempt to save him. I killed him-"
He shushed me as he pulled me into a hug. "I want you to listen."
I closed my eyes, listening to the rumbling of the above spaceship. The sound of Rose and Mickey cheering cut through. Sharp and deafening in the best way. I heard Jackie's voice join them. Thankful and caring and proud.
"I hear hope... joy. I hear the cheers of the very people you just saved. Now, imagine that sound echoing all over the world. All of them. Safe because of you."
He stepped back, holding my upper arms.
"I'd say that's an alright balance, wouldn't you?"
I felt my lips tugging up as I thought about it. Yeah, maybe-
Any hope I had was shattered with the sound of an explosion. It silenced any cheering. Any joy. It was loud, violent, terrifying.
I looked over at Harriet. She stood there with a sullen expression painted on her face.
"What the hell is wrong with you," I asked. "They were leaving!"
"You said it yourself," she replied. "They go out and tell the rest of the universe about us. What happens when you and the Doctor aren't here? When another race decides that they want Earth?"
"You think that you're so important that it justifies murder-"
"Yours was?"
"I never wanted to do that! I wanted to show mercy! I wanted them to have the chance to make the right choice! Do not use me as an example to justify your monstrous behavior!"
She had no response to that.
"I shouldn't have just said to leave. I should have told them to run. Run as fast as you can because here comes humanity, the true monsters! The species ready to destroy anything different than themselves!"
I was almost screeching by the end of it. I felt the Doctor move his arm in front of me. I must have moved forward without thinking much of it.
I stepped away, turning to the others. Rose hugged me, muttering how sorry she was.
"I should have stopped you," the Doctor said.
"What does that make you, Doctor? Both of you? Another alien threat?"
"Don't challenge me, Harriet Jones, 'cause I'm a completely new man," he pushed. I stepped away from Rose, turning back to Harriet. "I could bring down your government with a single word."
"You're the most remarkable man I've ever met, but even you aren't capable of that."
"No, you're right," the Doctor replied. "Not a single word. Just six."
"I don't think so."
"Six words."
"Stop it!"
"Six."
He stepped around her. He walked to her assistant, muttering something into his ear. He came back to us.
"You go back with these three. I'll meet you there," he explained to me. I furrowed my eyebrows. "I can't very well keep walking around in pajamas and a robe."
"Fair," I chuckled. "See you in a bit."
"You too."
I followed Rose, Mickey, and Jackie back to the apartment.
They forced me to go sit down while they got dinner together, only letting me join them when the table was set.
"I could've helped," I said when I sat down.
"Well, we couldn't let the planet's champion make their own meal," Mickey replied. "Now, eat."
I chuckled and shook my head.
The door opened a few moments later. I turned to look at the Doctor. He was wearing a suit now. Dark brown with a light button-up and a tie. He had a long trench coat on now. He grinned at us before coming to sit at the end of the table.
I found myself faced with Rose holding out some roll of something. It was wrapped in green foil with gold and red details. I furrowed my eyebrows at it.
"Grab that end," Rose instructed. "It's a Christmas cracker. This is a very human thing. Like the tea."
I was hesitant but listened to her anyway.
"On three, pull toward you," she continued. "1... 2... 3!"
I tugged the roll toward myself. I flinched a bit as it popped. I found myself with most of the roll in my hand. I moved it, looking inside.
I found a crown made of tissue paper. It was yellow. Bright yellow.
"Put it on!" Rose pushed.
"Okay, okay," I replied. I placed the crown on my head, struggling to get it to stay in place. The Doctor reached over and fixed it for me. "Thank you."
"You're welcome," he muttered.
Rose pointed at the TV. "It's Harriet Jones."
She was rambling, trying to defend staying in office. I looked at the Doctor. He gave me a look that simply said 'don't ask'. I turned back to the screen.
That was until Jackie pushed us all outside.
I almost froze in the door at the sight of what seemed to be snow. It was as I stepped on it that I realized that it wasn't. It was ash. Leftover ash from the spaceship still burning up.
I closed my eyes for a moment before looking around me. I saw people. Couples and kids and whole families running around in it. They were laughing. Cheering. Spinning and celebrating.
There it was again.
That sense of hope.
That very small shred of it that made me feel like I needed to hold onto it as tightly as I could.
"(Y/n)," I turned to the Doctor. He was standing next to Rose, holding hands with her as they both looked at me. "Ready to go?"
"Yeah," I nodded. "Absolutely."
He grinned before going to open the door.
I let out a small sigh as I followed them both inside.
One shred.
That was all I needed.
Or... all that I was going to have... for now.
If I wanted more, I had to go find it.
And yeah, I was absolutely ready to do that.

Author's Note: I would like to take a moment to thank everyone for reading and accepting this OC. I know I play around with canon and I promise it is only going to become more evident as we go on. I have this OC planned out through Flux, just to give you an idea of how committed I am to this OC and their story. They have been through many of iterations before this one and I am so happy that this is the version that resonated with people. Thank you for your time and care. I promise that it is recognized and appreciated. I'll see you all soon!

If the DMC related requests hasn’t been filled to the brim yet: So there is this character in this anime called Spy x Family, and this character is named Yor Forger. She’s like this insanely strong and agile assassin who can kill a hostile cattle like a bull with just her fingers.
That’s basically what I want Y/N to be in my request! 😊
So, I want to see how the Sparda Men + V would react to a female Y/N who just so happens to be their lover, who is an insanely strong, intimidating assassin who is also a socially awkward person.
Oh yeah, I know her; I love that anime!! Here ya go and enjoy 💜
Sparda boys + V x Yor Forger-like!Reader headcannons
¤ Dante ¤
-When Dante first met you, he thought you were some regular old, socially inept klutz--cute and silly.
-He never in a million years expected to watch you break a demon's neck with one hand and then use its' corpse as a springboard to tackle another demon into the ground, shattering your spine.
-Dante was honestly quite intimidated and wondered if there were more secrets you were hiding from him.
-When you confessed the truth, that you were a trained assassin, and that unlike most, you weren't cold and calculated, but just yourself, his fears melted away, mostly.
-He trusts you and knows you wouldn't do anything to hurt him, but he wonders if you might break his bones by accident when you're fooling around together or cuddling.
-Well, if you do, his demon regeneration will take care of that, he reasons, right before tackling you to the floor and demanding a wrestling match.
■ Vergil ■
- Vergil initially thought of you as weak, thanks to your awkward demeanor, and his inferiority complex.
-When he saw how easy it was for you to leap from platform to platform, dodging and incapacitating demons as you went, he was shocked.
-Next came an interrogation. Who were you really? Were you a demon? Why are you so skilled? Are you planning to kill him? Why are you so self conscious if you have this much POWER, shouldn't you be confident in your invincibility?
-It took you a while, but you explained who you were, why you were the way you were, and so on. Vergil begrudgingly accepted this as the truth, but was still suspicious.
-With time, however, the cold and MOTIVATED man came to understand that some people don't change their personalities when they gain power--a lesson he would do well to learn.
-He frequently invites you to train with him, just so he can get a taste of your abilities.
□ Nero □
-When Nero first met you, he felt like there was something a little off about you, but attributed it to your timid, socially awkward personality.
-Then he happened to accompany you on a mission and got to see your true power. How you managed to twist off the demon's limbs was astonishing--you were doing everything Nero did, but somehow, faster.
-He was shocked, yes, but not angry, just awed. He wanted to learn everything he possibly could about you, but was kind of nervous to ask. What if your whole personality was fake? What if you were a truly horrible person on the inside?
-After you revealed the truth to him, he understood this really was the way you were, his mind now at ease. He liked you the way you were.
-Now he happily takes you on missions with him, the two of you kicking demon ass all day, every day.
-He also challenges you to arm wrestling battles every now and again, just to test your strength.
● V ●
-V met you and was intrigued; after all, you're as much of a dork as he is.
-He most absolutely did not expect to be tossed over your shoulder like a sack of potatoes and carried out of harm's way faster than he could blink.
-While his mind processed how you managed to lift him so quickly, he begins to wonder how you managed to lift him at all, given he's a rather tall man.
-After the danger was over and you'd decimated all demons, you sat down and revealed the truth about yourself, shocking him, in a good way. This whole time you were an assassin?! So cool!
-V was glad you revealed this to him because now he had one less thing to worry about. Having a ridiculously strong assassin bodyguard would be such a blessing.
-One thing to bear in mind: Don't be too rough with him, such as yanking him too hard in combat, even if you mean well, because his bones are fragile and with your strength, you could easily break them.

I am still trying to process how the a/b/o idea was so popular lol, but while I procrastinate potentially plot that, another idea popped in my head (Well- It's been floating around in my head and I finally nabbed it to be more accurate.)
Brief emetophobia warning, as this idea does have a few references to that, as well as food allergies, starvation, and what's basically an eating disorder? I'm not sure how to describe it, but I'm putting a read more just because of all that. Well, and because it's pretty long.
It's really just an where Vox has severe allergies to anything that isn't directly from sea food. The reasons why could vary; he had allergies while alive and somebody thought making them worse would be funny, the person in charge of designing their forms just thought it'd be funny in general, or maybe he just had bad luck (I mean, he ended up with a TV for a head-)
Essentially, anything that comes from a land animal or bird causes really bad rashes and hives (Amphibious creatures tend to be hit or miss), and anything that comes from plants results in severe choking, coughing, low blood pressure, vomiting, and eventually (temporary) death. Epipens and stuff like that don't really work if not administered like, a millisecond after he ingests whatever it is, because mechanical shit starts shutting down too, and the medicine doesn't fix that. When Vox first fell into Hell, he ended up quickly deciding 'Oh, you know what? Starving to death and reviving is better than this.' It took him a long to time to find out what would and what would not trigger reactions, and he ended up dying a lot during that time.
I guess a slight difference that is sort of important to mention is in this timeline/alternate universe, the more you die, the faster you regenerate. The cause also affects speed, obviously. So when Vox dies because of an allergy, it initially took him roughly half a day to fix all the stuff that stopped working, but it reached the point where it's now ten minutes at most. This also carried over to when he loses in fights to Alastor, so, at most, it takes him half an hour to get back up. Alastor is understandably annoyed by this, because he can literally rip Vox apart, and then get jumped less than an hour later while he's still recovering, because unlike Vox who's died somewhere upwards of a hundred times, Alastor's never died in Hell. Basically, Vox has the advantage of speed.
While he and Al were friends though (Don't know if you can tell, but my favorite version of Vox is CRT head Vox lol), Alastor would make his 'special' meals, because apparently any sinners that are primarily fish based (Aka, Papermint, who's ONLY exempt from Vox's cannibalism because he's does there taxes) are perfectly fine for him to eat. Alastor would go to Rosie's and basically buy the best cuts, make sure they were from Sinners he was 100% sure would be safe, and then make Vox something that actually tasted good using the limited seasonings he could. He also learned how to make a version of candied salmon for Vox's sweet tooth, and did Vox just break down at being able to eat something that isn't just straight sugar for the first time in years.
Yeah, Alastor claimed it was just because it wasn't amusing if Vox spent an hour coughing up his lungs and then another hour regenerating, but Rosie knew what was up. Love is her specialty after all.
But, sometime after Val fell into Hell, Alastor ended up needing to cut off ties with Vox, because the person he sold his soul to (Let's say... Roo and Eve became one person for this fic) thought he was getting too cozy. So he... may have intentionally slipped something multiple things in Vox's food when he invited him over, and Vox, who trusted him unconditionally, got a pretty nasty shock when Alastor ripped him apart and basically told him how he was good for nothing more than entertainment while he was dying on the floor. When he recovered, he ended up getting very depressed and met Valentino, and the two became fast friends. Vox was hesitant to tell him about his weakness, but Valentino actually was pretty good about it. Okay, maybe he slipped something in his food once, but he regretted it immediately when he saw how bad the reaction was, and then became immensely protective of Vox, who actually got so much better mentally because of this. When Velvette joined the Vees, she became super protective too.
Aaaand that brings us to the modern timeline (Help, this is super long), where the entire season progresses as normal, but, after the battle with the angels, Vox, after literal decades of no reactions, starts mysteriously getting really bad reactions out of seemingly nowhere. After a really bad incident in public, at Val's club, which they barely managed to get out of without being seen due to Val doing an impromptu sale on a night with the dancers (who had thought it was just dancing), they end up realizing somebody's spiking the food. The first thought is obviously Alastor (Alastor has never done anything with Vox's food after the first fight), but after several cases where Val and Velvette actually watch the prep from start to finish while Vox's is stalking watching Alastor, and Vox still has a reaction, they realize, okay, no, it's somebody else.
And then they come up with the bright idea of sending Vox to the hotel because it's the safest place they can think of while Velvette and Valentino try to hunt down the culprit. Charlie, understandably, refuses them when they just appear, especially because of Valentino, but then Vox purposefully eats a brownie or something (He's been craving chocolate for the past 70 years or so, give him a break), much to Alastor's horror, and Charlie decides because of that coupled with the fact that Vox basically stated point blank he will starve himself to death because that is his only other option, maybe he can stay. Angel does get time off too though.
Cue Alastor realizing, okay, maybe he still does care about the insufferable picture box, Roo/Eve appearing repeatedly and threatening to punish him if he doesn't obey and stop hanging out with Vox, who is having an existential crisis, because on one hand, Alastor tried to kill him on multiple occasions, but on the other, he's still kind of hot??? Velvette and Val checking in every once in a while, as well as three new guests who all appear at a suspicious time, and, oh wait, look at that, don't they all have a grudge against the Vees and Vox in particular? Sure hope it's not one of them that's been spiking Vox's food...

Been meaning to make an Aster lore post (and lore about Z-777 and this AU in general) since I have many thoughts about her right now so here.
CW: Abuse, violence, medical malpractice/horror/gore, Urbanshade generally being terrible and making Aster feel terrible
Tumblr media
Aster's birth was not planned, and she was the result of a one-night stand between a strange man and Beatrice Hawkins, the wife of Urbanshade operative Judas Hawkins. Judas got promoted because of this, his co-workers were not happy about that.
Judas and Beatrice are just Bojack Horseman's parents but involved in corporate conspiracy bs. Judas was the more physically abusive, controlling parent, Beatrice was, like her namesake, a neglectful, verbally abusive alcoholic.
Learned how to fight through schoolyard brawls. She bites. Hard.
Aster has a sneaking suspicion that the community she grew up in was a cult. It definitely was.
She and Sebastian were partnered up for a project or smth (this was probably before he switched to engineering. It was amicable but eventually grew into something genuine. Their college era makes me sick they really could've had it all but fucking Mr. Shade stole that from me and I hate him for it.
Urbanshade was aware of this. They were unaware of just how much it escalated (they still are) but they could tell he was getting attached to her and vice versa.
They could excuse a casual passing friendship or even a casual hook-up/friends w/ benefits deal, but a genuine bond is a big no-no.
And then they hire Sebastian to do some engineering/electrical work and he stumbles upon something shady, probably a weapons cache (or even the storage for the previous Z-777 harvests). In smart horror movie character fashion, Sebastian decides to not play hero and wisely peaces tf out, but Hawkins probes him about his feelings before he can get to the door and oh yeah bro's smitten.
An attachment is an attachment, and attachments lead to problems. And Urbanshade is very good at getting rid of its problems. Who gives a damn that Sebastian's literally just some well-meaning guy and Aster doesn't know about any of this, fuck them kids.
They were initially going to tamper with a later job and get Sebastian killed, but they didn't account for Aster being there and getting caught in an explosion caused by Judas and a rookie operative. She has her first "death", Sebastian is framed and snatched up by Urbanshade. Judas is brutally demoted down to the lowest operative rank.
Naturally, Urbanshade is pissed as hell, and has to do some esoteric occult shit that ultimately dooms Aster to bring her back to life. The community gets sacrificed, Judas and Beatrice are allowed to escape but Beatrice divorces his ass.
Urbanshade sends Aster to a hospital under their jurisdiction, she wakes up almost a year after the incident and sets out to prove Sebastian's innocence after learning the truth. She manages to get some evidence from that night to the cops which helps clear his case, but Urbanshade yoinks her too.
Ten years of torture babeyyyyy. She gets Z-9, another supernatural anomaly attached to her along the way, giving her a monster form that activates when she feels strong survival-based emotions (anger, fear, etc).
Urbanshade eventually goes behind Mr. Shade's back and uses her on Z-2, an anomaly that's been causing trouble in the Blacksite. It's basically a hungry, sentient house, and it wants Z-777 instances.
Mr. Shade is pissy about it, but calms down once they explain that Z-9 is trapped as well, as it's been haunting him for a while, too.
Aster spends an undetermined amount of time in Z-2 before breaking free thanks to Z-9, and runs out during the heat of the Blacksite. Blah blah blah, alliance with Sebastian and Painter, blah blah blah.
The scars on her neck are from a shock collar she used to have to wear early on. They removed it once she became more compliant and subdued. The ones on her wrists and ankles are from pulling on the restraints before her regeneration fully manifested.
Aster was kept alive due to how useful she was to the company as a source of money, but was kept isolated from the EXR-Ps outside of occasional behavioral/psychological tests. No one really stops to think about the transplants and transfusions, given how useful they are
Z-777 is not the person, but the anomaly itself. It's a biological phenomenon that makes everything compatible with everything, and allows the body to adapt to almost all conditions. How the effects vary depending on the methods of harvest cannot be explained.
Z-777 is also said to have some indirect sway over luck. Urbanshade says that about Aster making profits skyrocket, but Sebastian also lost twelve years of his life, the community she was raised in was burned down, Mrs. Solace lost her son, etc. so....
Z-777-2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 all died at some point during their own experimentation periods. Aster is the most successful instance since Z-777-1, hence why Urbanshade is so hellbent on holding onto her. They cannot afford to wait for a Z-777-8.
Aster has the opposite kind of touch trauma from Sebastian and becomes unresponsive instead of violent when people get up in her personal space. She also tends to dissociate/shut down in stressful/overwhelming situations and has developed self-destructive habits thanks to her regenerative abilities.
Despite everything, Aster does genuinely feel good about all the people outside of Urbanshade who did end up getting donations from her, which ultimately saves them from the cons of Z-777's properties. One of the recipients just so happens to be Mrs. Solace, who was suffering from a mild health condition that worsened after Sebastian's "execution".
Aster was a Paramore/Avril Lavigne girlie. She would've liked Olivia Rodrigo's rock music. She listened to Hurricane Streets by Hey Monday and Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls on repeat for hours.
She liked to draw and often got in trouble for not paying attention in class because she was doodling. Her and Painter bond over that in the Blacksite.
Kind of a gifted kid, she didn't know what she wanted to do with her life after college and remained undecided. Probably would've done good in law thanks to her having a knack for finding loopholes, but that was never her thing
She wanted to be a singer and definitely had the potential for greatness. She and Sebastian used to have little jam sessions in their dorms when they got bored.
Did parkour as a hobby, her height and weight made her very good at it. She can, in fact, do a sick flip.
I don't have a set love language for her, but physical affection and quality time are the ones she does the most :)
She likes the rain and water in general. She often went night-swimming in the lake near her house or the college pool when she needed to relax or just wanted quiet time to herself.
A very, very repressed romantic. She was mildly disillusioned by her parent's crumbling, messy marriage but still wouldn't hate having a "The Notebook" moment. She would absolutely love it.
The light gold in her eyes came from the experimentation and glow in the dark.
Biting as a love language real.
A very, very good kisser.
Just a walking ray of sunshine and good vibes and that warm, comforting feeling of home and safety and that feeling that everything will, in fact be okay, but also a final girl and this meme:

Boom
It was extremely surreal to hear Moffat Dialogue™ come out of Fifteen and Ruby's mouths. At least for the first part of the episode. I got used to it later, but initially it was like the previous Doctors and companions were here.
Like the previous episode, this story felt too early in the season for the threat to feel real. Come on, we know the Doctor's not dying or regenerating today, and his "trust fall" with Ruby at this stage of their relationship is more like a team-building exercise than the horror of holding a loved one's life in your hands. Though this also meant I was genuinely shocked when Ruby got shot. But I thought the cold open was very cool but also a red herring, sort of like the cliffhanger in the s5 finale, and that immediately after the titles the Doctor would just sonic the mine and move on to the real plot of the episode. Then some time later, when I still thought the episode was just beginning, I looked at the time, and it was about 30 minutes in.
A solid entry in the "Doctor is incapacitated and cut off of their resources, and has to find a way out of the Situation with only their wits" episode genre. And also "close-ups of the Doctor's anguished face" genre. Fifteen's got a pretty and expressive face and the camera loves it.
Dr Nyarlathotep fans are eating well today.
After one dud, we're back to social commentary! Even got a shot at religion in! Now we're talking.
Several callbacks to the Moffat era... but the biggest similarity is actually to "Mummy on the Orient Express", which wasn't even written by him! (#BringBackJamieMathieson2k24) Which kind of feels unfair, like, reuse your own material, man! People are also mentioning Oxygen which, as I now realize, also was a Mathieson episode.
Not a fan of the ending scene. "Dying defines us", says the immortal alien. The general writing and direction in that scene are awkward as well, but if the people here are right and it's part of the overarching story-inside-a-story plot, I'll forgive it.
"...which makes it more exciting given the romantic tension between us" is surely one of the fourth wall breaks, right? At first I thought it was just a moffatism, but considering the other plot crumbs in the season...

More Random CS Headcannons
KAPPA: (most of these feel purely observational)
Has no clue how to hunt since the ocean has just always provided for him or castles feed him when he visits.
If he ever stopped glowing, he'd probably be initially excited. Does this mean he's not the Beacon anymore? Though he would probably freak out the first time he experiences complete darkness.
Tends to curl in on himself when he's sad, scared, anxious etc… to appear smaller and not draw attention. It's a clear sign he's unsure of himself or the situation. Does this even when he reunites with Siren. At least until he's sure Siren's really there. Not sure if this is a headcannon or just observational?
Does not like talking about himself. At all. It makes him genuinely uncomfortable. Because people always ask about Beacon this or Beacon that that he feels most just don't see him as Kappa. All they see are his pretty scales, their prophecies, and what he can do for them. If asked anything personal, Kappa dodges question or changes the subject.
Has zero filter and is unapologetic about it. He puts up with weird prophecies. People can handle a little sass every now and again. Probably started after the Vaquita prophecy. It's usually a sign he's defensive from years of people excited to see the Beacon. It's something Siren picks up on quick as a sign Kappa feels uncomfortable around new people.
Nobody ever got onto Kappa for his lack of filter either. Who's gonna call out the Beacon? It's a way for Kappa to insert his real self into the conversation and defend himself when uncomfortable.
Siren was the first to actually enjoy the snark. Everyone else ignored it or seemed shocked before blowing it off.
Kappa used be terrible at sticking up for himself. The finale for season 3 put a stark end to that in my mind. Siren's always happy to do it for Kappa regardless.
Kappa doesn't know most/any swear words. Because who's gonna curse in front of the Beacon? Siren ain't teaching him either.
I imagine if Kappa and Silver ever meet, they'd bond over hours of telling embarrassing stories about Siren. Siren would be torn between not wanting to hear, interjecting corrections from his side, or just being happy the two care so much about him to remember details.
Sleeps curled into a ball. It helps him feel secure, especially in a new castle. By contrast, Kappa sleeps more straightened out when feels safe. Started with the witches and sleeping with his back against Mucku. While in recovery after the Lord Ogo incident, it really showed. Now he sleeps completely uncurled surrounded by his found family.
Unsurprisingly, Kappa now prefers to sleep settled in Siren’s arms and under his jaw. He often makes comments about how strong Siren is to get him flustered before falling asleep with his tail curled over or around Siren's. It's not quite straight, but not making himself smaller either.
OTHER CHARACTERS:
Mono has photographic memory. It's how she's able to produce exact copies of things she sees at a glance. Like Kappa’s doodle of Siren for example.
Silver is Ace, possibly even Aro/Ace. This could simply just be wishful thinking. I was honestly starting to think Kappa was Ace too, but the author addressed that in an ask as not true.
Silver's bucketlist consists of absurd requests such as getting to hear Skiff whispering a swear word in her ear on her deathbed so she can literally die laughing.
Speaking of which, Siren taught Skiff all the swears he learned from Silver. Because the mental image is hilarious for some reason.
Siren is weirdly ambidextrous. Either that, or he still hasn't figured out which is his dominant hand when it comes to his knife.
Worm/Arp has retractable teeth. Like Toothless from the How To Train Your Dragon movies.
Like real-life axolotls, Worm can regenerate lost limbs. Not that even Kappa has ever seen that happen.
Worm is either the last of his species or he isn't native to anywhere Kappa has ever been. I'm convinced it's the former. Because nobody seems to have any idea what Arp even is.
The story at the end of episode 105 is an allegory of the order the witches accepted Kappa. Mucku saw "4 fish" from the beginning. Mono saw "3½" as she was the second to warm up to him. And Neth was adamant is was just "3 fish" because she was the last to accept Kappa into their little family unit. Her consenting to it being 4 fish at the end is similar to her accepting Kappa as part of their group.

rose tyler's favorite things about every new who doctor
based off of physical attributes. she wants that ass in every regeneration
nine: his gorgeous low voice and those blue eyes. he has such a strong body but it's all wrapped up and hidden under that jacket. when she hugs him he's warm and solid and safe pressed up against her. he's so masculine and smells like spice and leather. he's the dangerous, mysterious man who took her away from the monotony of her old life, and she thinks she might be attracted to adventure, and he is the physical culmination of adventure itself.
ten: well, everything. this body was crafted and molded out of love for her, engineered to absolutely drive her crazy, and the tight tight clothes make her think he might be trying to distract her with every movement. the elegant line of his thin body and the gentle curve of his muscles. the hair she could spend hours running her hands through. the way he tugs at his own hair and makes her want to replace his hands with her own. every time he bends over to fix something under the console those ridiculous pants stretch over his absolutely perfect ass. she thinks she might die. she pokes fun at his dramatic speeches and daring, theatrical rescues but secretly swoons watching her very own romantic action hero swoop in and save the day.
eleven: she'll be honest, she mourned the loss of her hot-fresh-made-just-for-you doctor for a while longer than she would like to admit, and the doctor made it his mission to make himself equally as attractive to her. she begins to give in to the way his hair flops over his eyes in a way that makes him seem shy and sexy all at once. the intensity of his green eyes makes her shiver. and though she mourns the slim lines of his body in his pinstriped suit, she finds her fantasies turning to broad shoulders, strong biceps, and long, muscular legs. she never realized legs were that attractive until this doctor. and that jawline, those cheekbones, the way he whispers in her ear. her friends tease her about how her boyfriends get younger and younger, but rose secretly likes that the millennium old lord of time is also her sexy young grad student-looking arm candy. his boyish charm wins her over body and soul. and this one seems to be determined to distract her with pants that might be even tighter than pinstripes.
twelve: she's prepared for it this time. he's warned her that he might not always be her pretty young thing, but she gets over it very quickly when she hears the sexiest scottish brogue, and she might forget about young, pretty boys once and for all when the most elegant, alluring fingers attached to incredibly large hands come to cup her face and kiss her deeply. those hands. those hands, those hands, those hands. she wants them everywhere. he leans back in the tardis, playing his guitar, looking deep into her soul with those intense eyes. she's just looking at the way his fingers wrap around the neck of the guitar. she wishes she were a guitar.
thirteen: (eek I have not paid enough attention to jodie's body and looks to accurately do this one but rose definitely has so let me try my best) she is just as thrilled as the doctor when he regenerates from gray curls to blonde. the doctor's initial excitement fades for a moment as she turns to the love of her life but she is quickly assured as rose doesn't even hesitate to stride right over, cup her face in her hands and give her a passionate, romantic kiss to rival every kiss between them so far. she pulls back and touches her forehead with her own. that night she runs her hands along soft curves and says "I understand a little better why you liked this so much!"
fourteen: the initial shock lasts at least ten minutes. she thinks she might be dreaming. she loves the doctor in all of their forms but she would be lying if she told you brown eyes didn't haunt her dreams. she spends the first night reacquainting herself with every inch of the body she missed so much. "thanks for giving me another go at this one." she thinks it couldn't possibly get better than this.
her first thought when she sees two doctors standing in front of her is fear. how will this work? the second thought is her brain supplying five to ten very helpful ideas of how this could work. she watches them play a game of chess and thinks of seven more. "sharing is caring, babes" fifteen says as they lean back against the railings in the tardis that night, processing the day they had been through. "I wouldn't take her away from you. ever. Plus," he adds, "It's pretty stupid how whenever there's two of us we act like we aren't the same person. The three of us are still a couple by definition." fourteen isn't totally sure about all of this, but fifteen seems to be cool as a cucumber. "Don't be shy, honey. I was you last week. I know everything you're working with. No secrets here."
Rose thinks her birthday might have come early and every day. as does she.
fifteen: she hasn't stopped staring. her jaw dropped twenty minutes ago and hasn't picked back up. fourteen tells him to go put some trousers on and rose shouts "NO!" as if he had said he was going to throw the tardis into a black hole. this new doctor is a model. those gorgeous dark eyes and his glowing skin. she hasn't stopped kissing his neck in days. she runs her hands up his muscular, perfect thighs, back, arms, and chest. he's been toned before but never this sculpted. he's maybe even more of an action hero than her second doctor. he's just effortlessly cool and an effortless flirt.
okay thank you for reading in conclusion all the doctors are hot and rose agrees with me.

Tyrant Theory, Part 1: Lisa Trevor and the Blobs
Tumblr media
Name: Lisa Trevor Age at infection: 16 Sex at birth: F Gender: F Pathogen: Progenitor Type-B Infection rate: Rapid Emotional state: Extreme distress
I'm trying to compile all potentially relevant data, whenever it is available.
Lisa Trevor was the first Progenitor Virus mutant created in the modern world. She's not the first Tyrant (that would come later), nor is she the first Tyrant-like (that would come earlier), however she is the basis of most of what's to come. She's also a little difficult to parse, because the form we see is not her initial mutation.
Initially, she was noted to have increased strength, deformed limbs, and near-immortality. However, she suffered brain damage and gradually deteriorating mental faculties until she essentially entered a vegetative state. It's never stated that she grew taller during this period, and her skin discoloration was never noted, but I think it's safe to assume.
For the next 14 years they basically just kept shoving new viruses into her and hoping that something would work. It's...honestly shocking just how shoddy Spencer's science was even compared to the rest of his little eugenics club. There's a reason the Arklay Lab produced basically nothing of value until Wesker and Birkin took over. It's unclear what effect these viruses had on her (if any), but it wasn't until they implanted a Nemesis parasite (likely a prototype) that her condition suddenly improved.
Well, improved in that she came out of her vegetative state. Got worse because she grew gross eyeballs on her back and became even more uncontrollable than ever. It also resulted in the G-virus creation, which I will discuss separately. It's notable that she has a large, orange eye on her back, a trait that will become important later
She has many traits that will become typical of Tyrants. Increased size. Increased strength. Discolored skin. Etc. However, she does not seem to ever mutate further, perhaps because her regeneration means she's never injured enough to trigger such a transformation. Or maybe she's about as messed up as she can get.
Tumblr media
Blobs are the only other things we know were created directly under Spencer, with a Progenitor-type virus. It's unknown directly what created them, though it's likely an early version of G, considering that's about all he'd have access to. Due to the tissue bloating and nautical features, it's possible T-Abyss might be involved, though how is completely unknown.
Again, note increased size, increased strength, discolored skin. The bright orange weak point eye is what marks this as a viral descendent of Lisa Trevor, and indeed their mutations show a lot of similarity. Especially the big orange eye, which will become a staple of other G-virus descendents.
The one thing we can gather here for overall trends is that, as prisoners in a dungeon, they were likely also in extreme distress when they were infected with the virus.

'Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies shares his honest thoughts about how he approached writing David Tennant's Fourteenth Doctor return. In October 2022, the show revealed a shocking twist when Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor took on the face of her Tenth incarnation in "The Power of the Doctor." Tennant's return to the role will help celebrate the show's 60th anniversary across three-anniversary specials before Ncuti Gatwa takes the keys to the TARDIS as the Fifteenth Doctor for the 2023 seasonal special, Doctor Who season 14, and beyond.
After the release of the first Doctor Who 60th-anniversary episode, "The Star Beast," Davies sat down with the BTS show Doctor Who: Unleashed. The showrunner stated he had no reservations about Tennant's return despite any potential backlash he could face from the fandom. He then explains that the scenario would allow his regeneration into Gatwa to be unlike anything the series has seen following a slowly unfolding arc across the background of the three-anniversary specials. Check out Davies' full response below:
Oh! I didn’t worry about that for a second. It was just like, so, Jodie Whittaker becomes David Tennant. Once you think that, it’s like, there’s no rules, you can do absolutely everything you want. There’ll be fans complaining about that, “You can’t do that.” Every time someone says “You can’t do that,”, that’s exactly where you should go.
It’s funny, because he’s an old Doctor, he’s played the Doctor before, but this has never happened. The Doctor’s never got his face back before, or her face back before, so that’s fascinating. It’s a plot that runs throughout the three hours of why has this happened, why has this happened, and leads towards the most extraordinary ending, which is a scene we’ve never played before in the whole 60 years of Doctor Who, so, that’s what I mean – New areas, new territory, new thoughts, new lines, new ideas. That’s always the right place to be.
What Do We Know About The Fourteenth Doctor's Familiar Face So Far
The Doctor donning a precious regeneration's face during a new incarnation was one of many mysteries surrounding the possibilities that the concept could hold, alongside other questions, including the mysterious "Brain of Morbius" Doctors and the dark inevitability of the Valeyard (Michael Jayston) from the "Trial of a Time Lord" story arc. First teased in the closing moments of Doctor Who's 50th-anniversary special, "The Day of the Doctor," in 2013, the Eleventh Doctor meets the Curator of the Under Gallery, played by Fourth Doctor actor Tom Baker, who is hinted to be a retired future incarnation of the Doctor many regenerations later. Hinting that the Doctor would revisit "old favorite" faces in future regenerations, other incarnations of The Curator in expanded media include regenerations resembling the Sixth Doctor (Colin Baker) and the Eleventh Doctor (Marr Smith).
However, the circumstances of Tennant's return are shaping to be something outside his future as the Curator. Promotional material for Doctor Who's 60th-anniversary had emphasized the mystery. The question was further doubled down on this in "The Star Beast," as the Doctor speculates whether his familiar face had anything to do with his reunion with Donna Noble (Catherine Tate). However, the episode quickly disproved the theory that he took on an older face to say farewell to Donna when both discovered that her potentially fatal Metacrisis condition had been healed. These developments launched theories about whether Neil Patrick Harris' Toymaker may have meddled in the process.
Classic Doctors returning is a familiar, fondly-loved tradition of significant Doctor Who milestones, but Tennant's latest return has also raised many questions. While some viewers may initially have fears that it is simply a move to cash in on nostalgia, it is clear that Davies has taken steps to avoid falling into such traps. With the showrunner teasing a unique regeneration that takes the show in new directions, Tennant's farewell and Gatwa's Doctor debut will end the 60th-anniversary celebrations with a grand finale.'

Synopsis: In the ruins of the Multivex Corporation, Seward Trainer has completed repairing the device that will regenerate his withered body. Gaunt warns Trainer that he will tolerate no further failures. That's when they are visited by Gaunt's mysterious employer, who orders Seward to hurry as he is preparing to initiate his plans that will finally see the destruction of Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Seeing who this person comes to a total shock to Trainer, who realizes that Ben Reilly is in deadly danger and tries to think of some way he can warn his friend.
Meanwhile, in Queens, Peter and Mary Jane are arguing over the facts of an old Bugs Bunny cartoon as they wait for a bus. The bus soon arrives and Peter's pregnant wife boards it so she can ride into Manhattan for a shopping trip with her Aunt Anna. As soon as Mary Jane is gone, Ben Reilly drops out of the trees right on time for his meeting with Peter. At that moment, at the Daily Bugle, Ben Urich has gotten an unmarked envelope by registered courier. It appears to be a letter from Liz Osborn who has information she wants to provide him and asks for him to meet her at the Bugle at 10 pm that evening. Ben considers the good fortune he has making friend with Liz Osborn when he wrote his book on the Osborn empire. However, he is unaware that others in the building have also received similar black envelopes.
Later, Seward Trainer has managed to sneak away from his keepers and made it to Ben Reilly's apartment. However, as he knocks on the door he is ambushed by Gaunt, who is decked out in new cybernetic armor. Digging through the rubble for Trainer's body, Gaunt discovers that Seward somehow managed to slip away. While at the Daily Grind, Shirley Washington has just hired a new waitress named Alison Mongrain. Although Mongrain is warmly welcomed to the team, Shirley and her staff are put off by her cold personality. Back in Queens, Peter brings Ben Reilly up to the attic of their Aunt May's house. Peter explains that he and Mary Jane need to clear some space when they move in, and he wants Ben to go through things because they are his memories as well. Ben is touched by this, as when he was on the road for five years he lived a very minimalist lifestyle. Looking through all the belongings, Ben finds a photo of Peter Parker with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben. This brings both men to tears, as they both miss the two people who were like parents to them. That's when Peter opens up and tells Ben that when he was first told that he was a clone he freaked out, but he eventually learned from Ben's example how to live with the truth.
Back in the city, Seward Trainer has survived Gaunt's attempt on his life and trying to figure out what to do next. Spotting someone reading an issue of the Daily Bugle inspired Trainer to go to the Bugle building in the hopes of finding Peter Parker. That's when Gaunt catches up on Trainer and attempts to kill him again. However, Seward manages to flee the scene by hopping into a subway train. However, Gaunt rips open the subway car in the hopes of getting at him. Later, at the Osborn Industries Plant located at Islip, Long Island, Liz Osborn has taken a more active role in the company she inherited when her husband died. She is on the phone with her boyfriend and lawyer, Foggy Nelson. She has just got a letter from Ben Urich asking her to meet with him at the Daily Bugle that evening and asks Foggy to tag along with her. In Queens, Peter and Ben come across a box full of Peter's old books. They both reminisce about the good memories they had reading these books as a child. When they find their favorite book, Peter Pan, it prompts Peter to tell Ben something that he has kept secret since Aunt May's death. He tells her that on May's last day the pair took a trip to the Empire State Building where she revealed that he knew that Peter was Spider-Man for years and that she was very proud of him. He admits he kept this to himself, particularly after he learned he was a clone, as he wanted to keep that memory of his own. Ben understands and tells Peter that they need to stop letting themselves get distracted and get back to work.
Meanwhile, at the Daily Bugle, Paul Sousa the director of maintenance of the building interviews two recent hires. A lot of the staff suddenly quit and he has had to quickly hire new people. After reading the glowing references the two men received from their former employers -- Oscorp and Multivex respectively. At that moment, Seward Trainer emerges from the subway outside the Daily Bugle. However, he is attacked by Gaunt again and is forced to flee down an alley. As he begins making the distance between himself and Gaunt, Seward runs right into the arms of Gaunt's mysterious employer. Having grown tired of this loose end in his plans, the mystery man snaps Seward Trainer's neck, killing him instantly. By this time, Peter and Ben have become distracted again when they find Peter's old Battleship board game. They are interrupted by Mary Jane who calls to tell Peter that she and her Aunt Anna are going for lunch at the Daily Grind and asks her husband and Ben to join them. They agree, unaware that Gaunt's mysterious employer has been listening in on their conversation and has other plans for the Parkers and Ben Reilly.

1948 Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series 1
Howard finally opens the S.H.I.E.L.D. agency and makes Peggy director. The SSR keep the Playground base and are absorbed into S.H.I.E.L.D. as their research division.
Howard's greater authority and larger amount of resources from the government (as well as his own) allow them to pull in more heroes.
S.H.I.E.L.D. will fight terrorist cells and non-state actors, investigate supernatural phenomena, also deal with and cover up powered people cos the general public "can't handle the truth". This is part of their mandate from the government and S.H.I.E.L.D. is threatened with closure or refusal of funding many times for trying to circumvent this aspect of their role within said government.
Director Carter is trying to maintain a long distance relationship with Sousa and has to investigate the "hit" on Agent Thomson.
Zodiac is the main story for this series.
Zodiac is behind the assassination attempt, with the council of 9 previously being under them. Vernon Masters returns to do their bidding (never saw a body right?). Peggy's brother has been alive all this time and it was his redacted file that Thomson was to smear Peggy with and not actually Peggy's (Michael's name and d.o.b. were redacted just leaving the surname Carter and informants that heavily implied that it was Peggy). With the smear failed, the Zodiac group want it back, for safe keeping. Thomson is the only one outside of the Zodiac or the council of 9 that has read it, so he was supposed to be killed, but they hired Dottie to do it and she was able to make it look like she was trying to kill him without killing him ("if I'd wanted to kill him he'd be dead"). She arranges a meet with Peggy in a subterfugey way, info dumps, insists she really was trying to be helpful by taking the hit job, and manages to wriggle away again.
Zodiac is led by Marcus Lassiter (A buff Milo Ventimiglia with a cool beard). Marcus has the codename Aries and wears ram horns at the meetings which seems silly at first till we realise they are functional and they all have silly costumes. Marcus has super-human strength, which we don't see initially.
All of the Zodiac members have themed powers/tech:
Taurus (Cornelius Van Lunt) has bought his seat on the board and isn't afraid to use that fact. He has a bull's head costume. He also has dangerous horns.
Gemini (Joshua and Damian Link) are identical twins have identical costumes and carry identical dual wielding pistols. They have an amazing synergy when they fight as a duo. They only get one vote between them.
Cancer (Jack Kleveno) has a crab costume. That is all I have to say about that.
Leo (Daniel Radford) is a dude in a lion suit. It has a lion mask and an exoskeleton that gives the wearer enhanced strength, agility and durability.
Virgo (Elaine McLaughlin) has an extraterrestrial material coating her suit which gives her great durability and shock absorption. It also allows her to heal/regenerate herself or others. In my head, crab man gets injured by S.H.I.E.L.D. and Elaine comes back and gets captured just to heal her secret crustacean lover.
Libra (Gustav Brandt) has a hi tec blindfold that allows him limited psychic abilities and a teleportation ring. Martial artist too.
Scorpio (Jake Fury) has a costume with venom blasts and neurotoxic sprays. Yes. That Fury. In the comics he is Nick's brother. Here he would have to be his dad. In the series he is only referred to as Jake initially to keep his identity a slight surprise.
Sagittarius (Harlan Vargas) has an eye mask that grants enhanced vision and tracking abilities. He is highly skilled with a bow and arrow.
Capricorn (Willard Weir) is green. I'm thinking they're an alien. This superpower ideas site says Capricorn might have shape shifting abilities so they could be a Skrull masquerading as a Willard Weir.
Aquarius (Michael Carter) has a water based costume and weapons. Michael was not happy with the smear on Peggy but went along with it for fear of repercussions.  But now her life is under threat, so he leaves warnings for her to help her avoid getting killed. Eventually Aries discovers the betrayal and beats Michael to death in his secret apartment. Peggy comes across the apartment as part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. investigation and discovers the body. She realises he was the one giving warnings (to help them avoid traps, ambushes etc) and finds a note he wrote for her when he knew Aries was coming for him. It's written in their shared childhood code. It explains his motivations (he was trying to change the world for the better) and gives some info about what Zodiac are going to do next. Zachary Drebb is the second Aquarius.
Piesces (Noah Perricone) is blue and looks like he'd be good in the water so I'm thinking Talokanil
S.H.I.E.L.D. discover there is an off-books SSR mole on the inside. They are furious with Flynn for not telling them straight away. Flynn thought it would compromise the mole's safety.
As the Zodiac members are arrested or killed during the S.H.I.E.L.D. investigation, Jake Fury is revealed as the SSR mole. He tries to escape with the actual Zodiac key but it corrupts him and he tries to incite rebellion within the remaining Zodiac council members to effect social change. This just causes everyone to squabble and fight. Aries finds this amusing, but comes for Jake nevertheless. Jake ends up losing the key back to Aries, but escapes with his life.
Aries reveals himself as an actual god at the end of the series. He was cast out by Zeus for causing too much trouble in Omnipotence City and bound to be peaceful. He has taken that to mean he can't fight personally and has been manipulating world events with extracts from the aforementioned Zodiac Key to cause as much conflict as possible. The S.H.I.E.L.D. team have been annoying him by thwarting his plans. He says he is tired of being subtle.
They need the whole team, including Dottie, Sousa, Thomson and the Howling commandos using Stark tech and the Human Torch (Jim), Union Jack II (Brian) and Spitfire (Jacqueline). Peggy also calls in a favour from California based Adam Brashear (aka Blue Marvel) to help take him down. As Adam was the love interest from the previous series, this risks embarrassment for Peggy and could possibly end her relationship with Sousa, but the stakes are too high not to.
Ultimately Jim is the only one not affected by the Zodiac key and has to go Supernova to knock him out. He knew he was becoming unstable and had been advised he might go supernova, he just decides to do it on purpose. Heroic sacrifice! The team is devastated at the loss.
A relationship between Jim and Jacqueline would be built up through the series so she would take this the hardest.
Zeus could come and actually bind Ares with power dampening bangles. This physically prevents him from conflict instead of just getting his word. He is captured and will not be seen again till Dark Avengers.
S.H.I.E.L.D. recommends Adam for a commendation and Jim for a posthumous one. The CIA intervene and say that not only will no one will be getting one but no one must hear of it. The existence of gods and aliens is very much covered up at the behest of the American government so as not to cause mass hysteria. No one outside of the President and the people who were at the final battle know anything about it.
Adam is told he cannot be publicly rewarded and is no longer allowed to fight crime (he has been fighting crime in a costume and mask to hide his identity) as the CIA believe the world is not ready for a black superhero. The President reluctantly confirms this. S.H.I.E.L.D. must assign him a handler (he is so going to fight crime).
As Jim was essentially a sentient weapon the CIA won't publicly acknowledge his existence and stipulate he must be buried in the desert in an indestructible airtight box. The President reluctantly confirms this too.
Dottie disappears after making a significant contribution and manages to stay off radar until the first Black Widow movie…
Peggy and Sousa decide to carry on with their long distance relationship.
Namor shows up when he finds out about Noah. He is not happy that his citizen was defeated and arrested and he vows never to return. He is also not happy with said citizen for acting without his consent and forces S.H.I.E.L.D. to release him into Talokanil custody. He is sorry about Jim Hammond's passing though and stays for the burial in a secret S.H.I.E.L.D. location in the desert.
Post credits:- Peggy calls Marlene Frazier and asks, as she has been with Adam this whole time anyway, if she'll be his handler. He comes home and gives her a kiss, they have developed a relationship while working together. She says she is happy to keep an eye on him.

Alright it’s Jeanne Time Go White Woman Go
OC Page: Jeanne
Pronouns: She/Her
Types: Poison/Dark/Fire/Dragon
Ending: Self-Rule
First on the list of disaster women in Tellius is Jeanne! And before I get into her full backstory, I just remembered something else I forgot to tell you that these characters all have in common: the school they all went to was a military academy. This affects some relationships the MC has in canon with other characters (namely two childhood friends, Alanah and North, who serve as allies and rivals) but it also serves to color their interactions and backstory a bit.
Anyway, Jeanne is a trans lesbian anarchist who found out two of those three things at the academy, but she only really shared them with Taylor, who had secrets of her own, and the two bonded over shared understanding and Taylor’s grand scheme to reform the country from within. When the first Royale uprising happened, Jeanne and Taylor both were made to flee the country by their parents, along with Alanah, while North stayed behind. Notably, Jeanne and Taylor/Alanah went to separate countries. While away, Jeanne transitioned and ran into leftist writing, and was dazzled by ideas of how to make Literally Everything Better. Unfortunately, when she excitedly went to call Taylor and tell her what she’d learned, the other girl was…less than receptive. The initial shock of the ensuing argument, coupled with Jeanne’s short temper and Taylor’s black-and-white worldview, caused one disagreement to bloom into many, and by the time they returned to Tellius (the start of the canon game) they’ve become outright enemies.
However, Jeanne still isn’t publicly anti-council, so Taylor hasn’t publicly moved against her yet; Taylor just considers Jeanne as another opponent in her 5d pokechess. Jeanne, for her part, was never that good at subtlety, and is really frustrated at her inability to get through to her former friend. If Taylor would just stop trying to be ten steps ahead of eleven different enemies, if she could just see how much better things could be, if she would just listen…
But that’s not likely to happen at this point. Maybe they could make up…but it’s more likely they’ll keep making each other worse until they go down together, hand in unloveable hand.
In the meantime, Jeanne just tries to tell the truth (except to cops) and do right by people. Given the kind of game Empire is, this means she has few to no friends and bad things happen anyway. She’s starting to get bitter about it.
Oh and as a first run oc, she has no naming scheme.
Well, after that fucking depressing bio, let’s get into the gameplay!
A Word on Smog
Strengthened: Special Fire, Dark, and Poison moves (x1.3)
           Weakened: Special Fairy moves (x0.8)
Passive Damage: On all except Steel, Poison, Smog abilities, and Overcoat/Magic Guard
           Abilities Activated:
                       Stench: x1.5 damage dealt
                       Chainsmoker: +2 speed
                       Bogged Down: x0.66 damage taken
Toxic Boost, Poison Heal: As though poisoned
                       Noxious Fumes: Sets Smog
Moves activated: Desolation: 115 bp 30% poison, Perfect accuracy in Smog, as Thunder
For Jeanne’s own interpretation of this strategy, she favors leading with defensive walls (after smog is up) like Whiscash (who has bogged down) and Amoongus (who also has it, but still uses regenerator because c’mon. Regenerator.) along with new Fire/Dragon Poison Heal mon Chemera, wearing down all offensive momentum with status, forced switches, and raw defense, until one of her sweepers like Zangoose, Drifblim (chainsmoker, weather ball), and Charizard (Omegabuffed, gets most of the benefit of Mega X in base form).
Empire’s new sleep rules benefit this team, since it’s always two turns, Amoongus can always switch out on a successful Sleep Powder and guarantee a setup for a sweeper. And yeah I said Sleep Powder, Spore did not survive the journey to Tellius, unfortunately it’s 75% acc or nothing.
As you might have surmised, Jeanne’s become a pretty…Toxic person. While her urge to just drag everyone down around her definitely isn’t great, there’s still a part of her that wants to do good in the world, and that’s the part that keeps her moving forward…even when she maybe should probably stop. In fact, she’s going to be my only character to beat a particular optional boss in episode 4 (thanks to a bugfix making the strat impossible, who’s run I posted earlier, and I am taking all the obsession and frustration involved in beating six optimized level 75s with a team not over 35 and giving it to her as a gift. Like Karkat.
However, among the many things Jeanne suffers through, chief among them is Empire fields turning off her goddamn weather. While reborn literally only does this for the champion battle, Empire does this with multiple fields across multiple episodes, not just for bosses but for enemy bases and other, stranger things. Therefore, Jeanne’s formulated a second whole strategy, one that’s just as defensive, just as frustrating, and can theoretically output amazing offense. It’s even another Empire-exclusive! It is…
Ruthless Terrain
           Type Boosted: Dragon (1.5x)
All PP usage +1 (note that all moves in Empire have their PP maxed)
           Whirlwind/Roar deal 20% of target’s max health
           Boomburst does half damage
Basically, this team revolves on setting Spikes, then using Whirlwind/roar spammers like Mandibuzz (Jeanne’s starter) to weaken the enemy team, then going for the win with boosted dragon moves, especially Twister, which now gains +20 base power per hazard you’re set, via the newly buffed Noivern. I won’t speak too much on it because it is a backup strat, but I think I can really ruin the dragon leader this way.
Also none of these strats work in other games, so she’s uh....mono poison? poison/dragon???? I’m running her as a realist-route poison mono in Deso and let me tell you the early game really got me that headspace. Don’t do deso mono poison trust me
In terms of appearance, Jeanne began life with dark hair but it has not stayed that way. Already a fan of punk before she left, her hair and outfit use deep purple and bright red tones similar to Eternatus, a legendary that shares two of her types! otherwise she wears practical if colorful clothing, including pants with plenty of pockets, black doc martens, and a jacket with plenty of pins and a draconic design on the back. Oh yeah, she also has a gasmask. It’s honestly kinda mandatory.
Overall, I hope this gives a good impression of what we’re working with here. I wish to stress that Jeanne is the nicest of my Empire OCs, so get frigging ready. Next time, we’ll be diving into Miss Capitalism herself, Taylor!

//THE GOTH DOCTOR\\ Intro Variant.
BASED ON THE AESTHETICS OF HORROR-THEMED SCIENCE FICTION, The Doctor has survived The Time War, but at a cost. One he refuses to acknowledge. The Doctor in this stage of his life initially starts as very standoffish and bitter. He's just lost his race and ended a war, he's got very bad PTSD which manifests as rage and bitterness. He's sad, trying to push people away and exist on his own- because if he lets anyone in for a moment, he'll break down. A good man at heart, this Doctor carries a lot of pain. He's mourning- mourning for his race, and for the person, he used to be. He goes through an arc of starting as a vindictive, insulting, disrespectful bastard- but eventually, he picks up a companion who heals him into a softer, mellow, understanding figure- who's got a lot of weight on his shoulders.
BELOW THE READ MORE ARE PROMPTS FOR THE GOTH DOCTOR. A loner and a standoffish incarnation, this Doctor is COLD and RUTHLESS. His PROMPTS are HORRIFIC and the monsters he faces are ELDRITCH beings of UNSPEAKABLE HORROR. You've been warned. He works with characters who can take that kind of abuse, ones who are ready to stare into the abyss- ones who are ready for the truth of the universe: That there's an evil that must still be fought, even if you don't want to.
FIRST MEETING PROMPTS / SOLO ADVENTURE PROMPTS >In Which your Muse meets The Doctor and works with him collaboratively (or antagonistically) during a one-off adventure. As mentioned in my rules- I write a lot of my threads like "Micro-D&D campaigns" in which our muses go on an adventure! Here are some prompts that follow that concept. These are basic ideas- they can always be discussed and plotted further.
Some threads may or may not establish that The Doctor is already traveling with @lunaetis's Yelan- as periodically, Yelan returns to present-day Teyvat while The Doctor has a standalone adventure. If you are a Genshin muse, the choice to acknowledge that is within your discretion. I do it mainly for TIMELINE purposes, as Hina's Yelan is one of my main's. If you want to establish the thread we're doing as an ALTERNATE TIMELINE or PARALLEL UNIVERSE in which The Doctor is not a native of your universe, we are free to acknowledge that.
The Goth Doctor can MEET and RECIEVE companions if we plot that as a possibility. Yelan will be The Companion who travels with him up until his regeneration. However, The potential for Companions set before HER arrival aboard is limitless. The Doctor you will receive prior to her, however, is an ABSOLUTE BASTARD- So keep that in mind, as he works really hard to make sure you know that (He Doesn't want friends.)
THE RELICS: Every Two Centuries, The Museum Of The Universe will pass through a random galaxy. On this day, it passed through YOUR CHARACTER's planet, and you, like the others before- received a massive invitation in the sky to pre-order tickets! Only five people would be selected from the entirety of your PLANET to view the contents of the museum. Naturally curious to see what it might have, and what you can learn- you pre-order a ticket. The Surprise that comes when you out of everyone on the PLANET is picked must've been shocking... but when you end up TRAPPED in the Museum with shadows that consume all in its path... Well, just be glad you're not trapped alone... Though, something tells you that THE DOCTOR didn't pre-order a ticket.
MANE OF BLOOD: Six Months ago, a howling echoed through a full moon night. At first, it tried to hunt them- but nobody could anticipate the strength of something that was half man, half beast. Now, the people lock their doors on every full moon night- they turn out the lights, and establish a curfew (even if the soldiers who maintain it don't wish to be out there...) But, YOUR CHARACTER feels that something is amiss... and when a man in a blue box arrives, his investigations into the matter cross paths with a curious mind like theirs...
THE EVERLASTING CURSE: Women and Children are drawn to THE SHORES of YOUR CHARACTER's home city. They walk into the water, past the shores- and they disappear. Only to return weeks later, as mouthless... silent... empty vessels, afraid of the water. It sweeps the population in a grip of fear that they cannot break from, so they continue to let it happen. YOUR CHARACTER has had enough and meets someone who thinks the same way... The Doctor.
VAMPIRE IN THE MASQUERADE: A Masquerade ball! And how EXQUISITE it is~! YOUR CHARACTER arrives, someone eager to be a part of the festivities. However, when a string of gruesome murders leaves the ballroom panicked and cordoned off by The Police- you realize only one person can make sense of these PUZZLING murders- which leaves the victims flatter than a pancake... and it's a man who doesn't wear a mask.
FRANKENSTEIN'S MONSTER: The TARDIS arrives on the set of a science fiction movie that(or play, if your character comes from a time before motion picture), YOUR CHARACTER is involved in the production of this project. As a (minor) film geek, The DOCTOR is intrigued by the production- but when he finds a familiar foe being used as a film prop... things get grim and bloody.

( gonna do replies in a minute, but have more ~ romana thoughts ~. today's episode: romana + physical contact/affection.
on gallifrey, physical displays of affection aren't really common. they're not completely unseen, but you wouldn't really expect to see it, especially not from someone with a high rank / from a high house. those displays would be more expected from someone with lower standing, or would be seen as a sort of... controlled thing, to serve a purpose, rather than to express affection (a polite hug, a handshake, something practical rather than emotional).
so, in her first incarnation, fresh out of gallifrey, romana i isn't the most used to physical affection. she'll accept it when necessary (if she's frightened, she will accept an offered hug. if she wants to get your attention, she will tap your arm), but she's not going to go out of her way to initiate it, and while she is a bit curious about it, she's not going to be caught seeming to enjoy it.
as she travels with the doctor, some of that distance starts to melt away, though she never becomes a particularly touchy-feely person.
but then the regenerates. and romana ii is a lot more physically affectionate. she likes hugs, she likes linking arms, she likes holding hands. it's mostly just with people she really likes/trusts (so, mostly the doctor), but it's a start!
except then etra prime happens and any progress she was making is just thrown out of the window. after etra prime, romana is severely touch starved, but like hell is she going to initiate something like a display of physical affection (because she's just been hurt, badly, and she is not going to risk any form of rejection, no thank you!)
so with post-etra prime romana ii, you've got someone who likes to be physically affectionate, but who absolutely will not allow herself it. which is one of the (many) reasons why she likes leela; leela doesn't have these hangups, and is more likely to initiate 'purposeless' physical contact. when she does get physical affection from the people she cares about, she really treasures it.
in her third incarnation, the hangups are seemingly entirely gone. she is extremely touchy-feely. if she likes you, she will hug you in greeting, to say goodbye, if you look sad, or just if she feels like it (provided you're comfortable with it, of course). she'll also reach out to touch your arm, or to give your hand a squeeze while talking with you, and just display a lot of casual physical affection.
the change from the avoidant romana ii to the excessively touchy iii was probably a shock to those around her, though iii still maintained some distance. it may not come across immediately, but she's very controlled about when she shows affection; it isn't nearly as spontaneous as she'd like it to appear. and while she would be eager to offer physical comfort if someone else was upset, she would be unlikely to accept it if she was upset. )

👁👁 your shiki au...go on...
bc you know...imagine the sheer confusion and shock when everyone sees a mini gojo pop outta nowhere and starts calling gojo "satoru-oniichan" and nanami "kento-ojichan."
idk where or when exactly she'll appear(and tbh i havent read jjk past the first 3 chapters or so LMAO) but if she appears at the boxing of gojo, or the nanami vs mahito fight OOOO
Yes!! The utter confusion that would follow in her wake can you imagine haha.
Like, say if Shiki stumbles on Nanami in his encounter with Mahito or something. Sees the patch-faced curse about to touch Nanami with his hands. And even though she's utterly lost and has no idea what's going on around her at the moment, something in her just snaps. How dare that curse try to lay his hands on Kento-ojichan?!
And so, Itadori runs in on a spectacularly bloody scene of Shiki eviscerating Mahito, with Nanami collapsed against the wall somewhere from his injuries. Itadori's initial thought is that Shiki is another of the working sorcerers called in to help with the fight, like Mei Mei and Ino. But the way she fights, her movements -it's on another level altogether, clean and sharp and it's obvious that whatever she's doing to Mahito is working. The wounds aren't regenerating, and the curse's expression is visibly contorting with panic, and-
The girl flips off a nearby piece of rubble and lands neatly before front of them, a clearly protective gesture. Itadori catches sight of her eyes -a deep, eldritch blue, ringed with an eerie glow.
Wait. White hair, cursed blue eyes?
"Gojo-sensei has a daughter?!"

@koscheicore right, right, you asked for it, here are my rambling thoughts after 9 years of having Missy on the brain!
Okay, so let’s start with some context. We have the Twelfth Doctor. This is early days for him, and at this point he repeatedly shows himself to be uncomfortable with physical contact. He doesn’t do hugging, he doesn’t particularly like it if someone takes his hand, and his whole brain basically shut down for a good few minutes when Missy pinned him to a wall and snogged him in Dark Water and had to ask Clara if it was over! (This is a stark contrast to his nuwho predecessors, but that’s not entirely relevant at the moment, so I’ll move on for now!) I have pointed out before, shortly after it first aired, that when Missy realises just how badly Twelve reacted to it, she backs off and doesn’t try anything like it again.
Now for the scene in the graveyard. Just before this, Twelve in frustration asks her why she’s doing this. She responds, initially in frustration, but then a tinge of vulnerability enters her voice. “I need my friend back.” Nothing more. No expectations. And it’s the first time that her mask really slips. Up to that point, even as she kneels before him and sets up a power imbalance between them with him in the position of power, she's still unmistakably the one in control. Until then. She burns, she destroys, she murders without second thought because she doesn’t know how else to get his attention. As she later says to Clara in Magician’s apprentice, traps are her flirting. I don’t think it even crosses her mind at this point that there’s any other way she could get her friend back – she needs to show him they’re the same. That he can be as destructive as her.
But this is the key difference between them. He knows that he could be as destructive as her, but he makes the choice to find another way. In some ways she’s right – they're not so different. I’ve recently been having conversations on AO3 which opened me to the thought of how Eleven would have reacted to Missy, and that maybe – if she had timed her offer just right – he might have accepted it. Eleven would have adored Missy, you can’t change my mind on that, and they would have made each other worse for some amount of time before something happened that made Eleven realise that he’s made a big mistake. He’d perhaps have been justifying it, that he was doing it for the greater good, until someone (Clara?) snaps him out of it, and shows him what he’s become. (Okay, I’ll stop going on tangents now!) But anyway, this is, I think, what he realises. Twelve has been trying to figure out since regeneration who he is now, is he a good man?
Kissing Missy isn’t something that he does out of obligation. There’s no ulterior motive. As I said, in this regeneration, he’s very particular over physical contact (especially at this point) and avoids it. But he chooses to kiss her. He’s not uncomfortable with it – he wouldn’t unless he really wanted to. And he gets down to her level – he doesn’t maintain the power imbalance that she set up between them, he makes them equals and kisses her so very tenderly. You can see the shock in her face, the longing, the moment of hope. All her fire, all her fight has drained from her – she's totally taken aback, because she never expected any of this. And then the moment’s gone, he’s on his feet, and he starts his speech, and he says “I am not a good man” and for a brief moment as she too gets to her feet, that hope flairs. But then she sees that grin spread across his face (Peter Capaldi has such an expressive face, and he pulls off that almost cheeky grin so well) and he continues, and she doesn’t quite know what to do with herself. She’s gone from slightly manic but in complete control of everything to just watching him speechless.
Then he asks her “Do you know what I am?” and she can’t do anything but shake her head, unable to take her eyes off him. “I am an idiot!” he says, and there is that unmistakable fondness in her eyes because yes, that’s her Doctor. An idiot.
Also, Missy is the only person (on screen) that Twelve ever kissed. And in this scene, he did it willingly. I will never get over this. I will never shut up about it. I will never shut up about Missy. I will never shut up about Twelve/Missy. I will never not go utterly feral over them. And don’t even get me started on the fact that in Magician’s Apprentice/Witch’s Familiar, Missy drops everything to come running the second she thinks he’s in any real danger! (I already have a fic from Missy’s perspective unpacking some of that. Missy is so fun to write for/rant as!)
the episode should've just ended there
