Hey, I have been reading posts about a bnha au with shiki, but can’t seem to find it anywhere?
Also, while i saw the google docs with au’s and the like in discord it isn’t all of them so i would really appreciate some sort of overview.
Thanks in advance
ps: i love Zenith of the Stars, keep up the awesome work :3
There are no written snippets for a BNHA AU, and solely exists as responses to Tumblr asks on this blog. You can find them using the "#bnha au" tag.
Only AUs with snippets written for them go into the Google Docs AU Index that I keep.
Also! On a side note, we have recently put together an #informational channel in the Discord server, which is a compilation of all zos snippets and related fanworks. Special thanks and shout-out to mouseink, pocketrat, and matcha who are the archivists maintaining it!

Question here does Shiki know how to use a gun or like any type of fire arm. Just thinking how badass it would be seeing a Gojo just going to places and one shotting cursed spirits left and right and everybody just wondering how on earth is she just killing them with a single bullet. Like bam shot it at one part of its body where multiple lines converge and the whole thing falls apart.
Shiki has not been trained in use of firearms!

A startled shout rips its way out of Imunlaukr’s throat, and he scrambles to escape from the deluge of ice and snow thundering down upon them all.
Decarabian had warned them that it would be dangerous –but not all had heeded their warning. Imunlaukr among them; as the one who’d entreated for the god to come to Sal Vindagnyr to save them, he felt that… he had a duty, to remain and see things through to the end.
And of the Mondstadtian knights who followed Decarabian, there were also those who continued to press onwards at their god’s side. Decarabian had not spoken any further after their warning, allowing them to make their own choice.
Which was a curious thing –ordinarily, a god would simply order those who followed them when they perceived ‘human foolishness,’ but from what he had seen Decarabian had never–
“RUN FASTER!” A sharp voice barks into his ear, causing Imunlaukr to jolt slightly from the sudden volume and close proximity of it. Knight-Captain Gerhard grabs his arm, yanking him along, “The mountain is–!”
With an earth-shaking, thunderous groan, the entire cavern collapses on top of them–
Or it would’ve, if a sudden Anemo-laced wind had not swept them off their feet and blasted them through the crumbling ice and stone, dumping them out on the open snowy mountainside.
Heart pounding heavily in his chest and gasping as the icy wind of the biting air cuts into his face, Imunlaukr immediately looks upwards into the sky.
Decarabian floats in the air, long black hair whipping out wildly behind them as the winds howl around them. They raise their blade, and swing down–
And the Divine Nail splits.
Imunlaukr sees it.
With a thunderous crack that echoes in the land around them, the Divine Nail splits into three separate sections. The backlash of it blows outwards like an invisible pulse of pressure, sending Imunlaukr crashing to the ground amid the sudden blizzard that picks up sharply –most certainly not a coincidence, not with this timing.
The Divine Nail trembles, and the entire mountain shakes with it.
Decarabian throws their arm back in a flinging motion, and with another pulse of powerful Anemo energy, proceeds to scatter the shattered pieces of the Divine Nail.
Hope, joyous and wild, races through Imunlaukr at the sight–
But from the cavernous fissure from where the Divine Nail had pierced down deep into the ground, there is suddenly a fountain of some –some strange, dark energy that rises in its place. The black-violet energy surges up, engulfing Decarabian entirely–
“No–!”
–and a massive pillar of lightning strikes down from the heavens, directly where Decarabian had once been. Directly atop the dark energy, smothering it just as it had swallowed Decarabian in turn.
Even from this distance, despite the wind and snow, Imunlaukr feels as if he’s being scorched. His eyes shut reflexively, for it’s too bright to watch–
And when it clears, when everything is still and silent again… there’s nothing.
Nothing.
Imunlaukr scrambles to his feet, and starts running. Half a heartbeat later, the Knight-Captain is racing behind him, both of them running towards the yawning pit once occupied by the Divine Nail, where Decarabian had vanished.
Decarabian– Had they–?
“My Lord!”
Imunlaukr pauses at the edge of the newly-formed ravine splitting the ground; Knight-Captain Gerhard, however, has zero compunctions about leaping in without a thought. The man pulls out his sword and drives it into the side of the pit as he falls, reducing the speed of his rapid descent ever so slightly as he chases after his god.
Imunlaukr grits his teeth, and follows.
It’s a dangerous, bumpy path down. Imunlaukr acquires several new injuries in the process, but perseveres. And at the very bottom of this rocky pit–
Decarabian.
Imunlaukr had thought that he would finally be able to breathe a sigh of relief upon finding the god, but…
But Decarabian is unconscious. There is no trace of that strange dark energy lingering anywhere anymore, but they’re unconscious, and–
There’s something strange happening to them. Their body is shrinking–
No, not just shrinking. It’s like they’re growing younger, the body of a youth becoming that of a young child once more. Their ink-black hair is changing color, shifting into ever-lighter shades of gray and becoming white by the end of it all.
Imunlaukr watches, frozen and stunned by the inexplicable sight in front of him, as Decarabian becomes a child.
The reflection of a god’s image… is also a representation of their power. Typically, a god who has reached maturity and is in the prime of their power wears the form of a youth, or adult. So for Decarabian to change like this, for Sal Vindagnyr–
“… No.” The utterance is soft, quiet. It slips from Imunlaukr’s lips without him even realizing it, not until the quiet whisper of No echoes back at him from the rocky cavern. “I… I never thought…”
“Save your words.” The Knight-Captain’s voice is frigid, severe. Imunlaukr dips his head, understanding the man’s cold rage. “What you just saw here –you must not utter a word of it to anyone. Do you understand?”
… Because Decarabian is a god of battle. The Great Hunter, who protects their people from dangerous monsters, and is the sworn enemy of Andrius, the Lord of Beasts. If it were to become known that Decarabian had been so severely weakened and was in a vulnerable state…!
Why?
Why did you do it? We… the people of Sal Vindagnyr aren’t your worshipers, nor your followers. So why would you… for Sal Vindagnyr… pay such a steep price?
“I understand,” Imunlaukr grips his hands into fists. “I and my entire bloodline, for as long as we exist in this world, will serve and protect Lord Decarabian and Mondstadt. This I so swear.”

Is there any lore you’re interested in changing beyond what you’ve already done? Cause I’m curious if you’ll keep Yuta as a descendant to Sugawara considering the political ramifications you’ve set up for a reveal like that, since in canon it was really just a quick way for Gege to explain his abilities at the end of a short and initially self-contained story, but with zenith you’ve purposely emphasized the importance that relation holds politically
I imagine a reveal like that would certainly run counter to the goal Shiki’s expressed of keeping him out of the spotlight in recent chapters lol
Certain things that we'll see changing in zenith of stars include [REDACTED][REDACTED][REDACTED]-
(Coughs)
Regarding Yuta! The reveal for his bloodline will be fun. :D

“You need to eat me.”
The white-haired girl in front of him blinks, “That’s an odd way to start a conversation.”
Eligius briefly chokes at that uncaring, blasé response. “… I’m being serious here.”
“So you are.” Even so, the girl’s voice remains unperturbed, and her expression does not change. “Would your strange request have anything to do with the visitors who passed through recently?”
… That is a remarkably understated way of referring to the most recent Sarkaz travelers who’d visited Arkos. Travelers who’d come specifically in search of Miss Salome, too. From the heavy robes and tight wrappings that consisted their attire, from the necrosis-type Arts that they commanded, it had been obvious that they were Nachzehrers.
Nachzehrers –beings who were the very personification of war; gruesome, relentless warriors known to be devoted to the battlefield, who reveled in the slaughter.
But the standing policy of Arkos is that all visitors are welcome. Save for those who threaten the stability and wellbeing of the settlement itself, or commit crimes within its borders.
And so the Nachzehrers had been allowed to enter Arkos, just as so many others had been allowed before them, and no doubt far more would be allowed after in the future.
Eligius had regarded their Nachzehrer visitors with wariness and curiosity in the beginning. Which swiftly morphed into shock and outright alarm, when they had accosted Salome on one of her routine patrols around the mountains.
“You’re Herleva’s daughter, aren’t you?”
“My name is Naftali, a soldier who once served under Commander Herleva of the Withering Court. I apologize that it took so long for us to find you –I’ve come to bring you home.”
Salome had refused to leave with them.
… Much to the relief of many, Eligius included. Though their numbers were steadily increasing, it was undeniable that Salome was the heart of Arkos, and if she left, then in all likelihood they would end up scattering across the land once more. Misfits and travelers and wanderers with no place to belong, and no place to rest.
(No place to call home.)
Eligius had known that Salome was Sarkaz for a long time now, but he hadn’t realized that she was Nachzehrer Sarkaz. She certainly didn’t look the part; Nachzehrers were said to possess bodies that easily withered and rotted away like the necrosis Arts that they commanded, and Salome did not display any of those traits. She had a pair of distinctive Sarkaz horns sitting on her head, and that was it. Were it not for those curved horns, she probably could’ve passed as a Pythian girl with her pointed ears and long, snake-like tail covered in glittering white scales–
Or so Eligius had thought.
Because he’d seen it, the other day. Salome usually wore clothing that covered most of her skin, including a veil across her face, but he’d glimpsed her taking off her gloves –only to reveal blackened fingertips, eerily reminiscent of necrotic rot, which caused Eligius’ blood to run cold.
Was it because of her Nachzehrer blood? Was she –was she somehow rotting away? Was her Pythian blood not enough to offset the horrifying effects of her inheritance?
Wracking his brains and ruminating over what he’d overheard from the Nachzehrer visitors, there was only one potential solution that Eligius could think of. Through devouring the dead, Nachzehrers were able to add the strength of the fallen to their own, so–
“You need to eat me,” he repeats. Because if she doesn’t, if her situation worsens, then…
Salome arches an eyebrow. “Do you want to be eaten?”
… No. Of course not.
The day that Eligius had left Kazimierz, a broken husk of a knight who had failed his family and could no longer even properly swing a blade anymore… Eligius had thought that there no longer remained anything left for him to protect. Not that he even possessed the strength to protect anything, not as a disgraced, crippled knight driven out of his homeland.
Fate had led him to Arkos, eventually. He’d aimlessly followed a merchant caravan as a cheap hired hand, and somehow ended up staying in Arkos when a Sarkaz girl killed the head of the caravan. The man had a sexual proclivity aimed towards children, and had acted on those urges in Arkos –Salome had sliced the despicable merchant into bloody pieces for it.
Eligius had thought of his days as a knight in Kazimierz, of all the harsh training he’d undergone… only to be helpless in face of injustice and wrongdoing all the same. A knight must be honorable above all else. But what worth was there in honor when it was something that could be traded and bought by the monolithic corporations that ruled Kazimierz?
Arkos… is not perfect. The buildings are shabby and run-down, and the rooftops have a tendency to leak when it rains. There is no particular schedule for when merchants are passing through, and resources are always running tight. Sometimes, brash mercenaries end up causing trouble, even with the threat of Salome hanging over their heads.
But at some point, Arkos had grown to be precious to Eligius. The tenacity of the people that lived here, with all their storied pasts, and the young leader who never allowed the opinions of others to prevent her from doing what must be done.
Eligius is no longer a knight. With a body had been ravaged by vicious poisoning and missing his dominant sword arm, his days as a knight of glorious Kazimierz are long over.
But even so, there must be a way that he could still protect what was important to him. Even if he wasn’t the one holding the sword himself.
Eligius squares his shoulders and looks towards Salome determinedly. He knows that he is not the only one who is willing to become her strength through being devoured by her, but it’s better that a useless cripple like him becomes the first to die, so that the others–
“You don’t look like you want to die,” Salome says. Then, turns around to pick up a… shovel? From behind her? “Here.”
Eligius falters, automatically accepting the dull shovel with his sole remaining hand, “What is this?”
“A shovel,” Salome responds. Fair, but that’s not what Eligius meant– “Seeing as you have enough time on your hands to be thinking about useless things, you can go work with the others on developing the terraced gardens first.”
Eligius gives a small start, “But you–”
“I’m not interested in cannibalism. Let me know once you’ve figured out how to grow potatoes properly here.”
With that said, Salome turns and walks away.
Leaving Eligius standing in the street by himself, holding a shovel.
… It’s nothing but a rusty shovel, given to him haphazardly by a girl who doesn’t even bother to toss a second glance back towards him as she departs. But for some reason, the shovel rests in his hand with a greater weight than the sword he’d once held during his knighthood ceremony, and there is a strange emotion welling up within his chest–
Eligius tightens his grip on the shovel, exhaling slowly.

“A shipment to Arkos, you said?”
“Yup! Logistics wants this delivered before the end of the week.” The young lady types rapidly into the keypad fixed to the wall, and the doors slide open –revealing the warehouse to be stacked high with giant boxes of various medical supplies. Bagpipe cranes her head back, surveying the contents of the storage room.
“… All of these?”
“Mhm. It would’ve been included as part of the regular shipment last month, but the guys over in the Medical Department changed something about the new formula that they’re developing, so these got delayed,” the girl explains. “Sorry for the trouble, Ms. Bagpipe.”
“Don’t worry about it.”
Arkos… it’s a familiar name, although Bagpipe has yet to go and pay a visit there in person. It seems that she’ll finally be getting the opportunity now.
Arkos is not quite a city, exactly. It’s more of a collective –a gathering of various disparate individuals; a hub of mercenaries and traders alike, in addition to a small regular population that calls Arkos home. The small settlement is located in one of the more treacherous parts of the rugged terrain between Leithanien and Ursus, making it an excellent resting stop for any travelers.
But on the flipside: Arkos is located on dangerous terrain, and one must wonder how anyone had even thought to establish a settlement there in the first place. In a way, it’s genius, but it’s also insanity. Because Arkos is not a mobile city; if a Catastrophe ever came their way, then…
Well. Bagpipe assumes that there must be some manner of precautionary measures set in place. She’s never known Doctor Kal’tsit to invest in a sinking ship, after all, and the agreements signed between Rhodes Island and Arkos would not have been possible in the first place if the Director had not truly seen something in it.
According to the rumors, the first homes in Arkos had been built by their elusive founder and leader herself. Weary travelers had been allowed a place to rest, and none were turned away on basis of race or occupation, gradually leading to a motley collection of individuals who gathered together in the area as time passed.
… And at the same time, there were also rumors that those who dared to cause trouble in Arkos with any ill intentions were all met with violent, bloody ends, without exception. Also courtesy of their great and powerful leader.
Bagpipe is curious as to what the leader of Arkos is really like. Kal’tsit is the only one in Rhodes Island who’s ever met them in person before, and she’s very tight-lipped on the subject, which only adds to the mystery of it all.

Guizhong blinks, staring out at the mountainous terrain that was formerly Malphas’ territory.
… Or rather, what remained of the mountainous terrain.
It’s… a mess. The mountains? Are just not there anymore. As in, they’re just completely gone. Vanished! Like they just up and disappeared into thin air!
Now, there’s nothing but a sea of lapping waves stretching out as far as the eye can see, drowning out what used to be perfectly good dry land. There’s no telling how long this unnatural flood will persist, as if the scale of damage wrought to the landscape and environment wasn’t catastrophic enough already.
The flood reached all the way to the borders of the Guili Assembly’s territory. It was only thanks to the defenses that they’d previously put into place that they were able to defend against the sudden onslaught of waves at all. A necessary precaution, given their close proximity to the Lord of the Vortex. But Guizhong hadn’t expected to be putting their adeptal spells and devices to the test so soon.
Looking back on it, the first sign of something amiss had been Lige suddenly spinning around and staring in the direction of Malphas’ territory, stock-still with narrowed eyes. Ever since they formed their alliance, Lige had been slowly shedding that shell of unfeeling stone, but there were still times when his behavior was acutely inhuman.
It had been the startled reports that Guizhong received from their citizens that led her to realize that Lige abruptly left on his own, shedding details of his human form in his haste and scaring quite a few people in his wake. So Guizhong had taken it upon herself to calm their people and get them to settle down again; it was part of their contract.
Lige would be responsible for taking care of martial and warfare-related matters, while Guizhong would be responsible for governance and civil affairs, maximizing both of their strengths in a fruitful partnership.
After Guizhong had finished calming their citizens… It hadn’t taken long before she’d sensed the stirrings of battle on the edge of her awareness, in wake of Lige’s departure. But even then, she’d been confident that her fellow god had things well in hand.
… Which was before the water level had started rising rapidly at an alarming rate, forcing Guizhong to hurriedly rally together the other adepti to put their protective measures into play, in order to protect the Guili Assembly. It was only after the water started receding and Guizhong was sure that the adepti could hold down the fort that she’d left their territory and followed after Lige’s trail.
Which led to where she was right now: Flying above the waves, and trying to make sense of what was going on.
“Just what in the world happened here?” Guizhong mutters to herself, frowning.
The waves below her remain silent, and do not yield any answer besides the obvious: That a cataclysmic battle had taken place between gods here, and this was the terrifying result.
The goddess closes her eyes briefly, silently mourning over the many innocents who were caught up in this conflict through no fault of their own.
Malphas’ people… while Guizhong held no love for Malphas, who treated humans more like playthings and curiosities than actual people to be cherished for their individuality–
The humans who lived in Malphas’ territory didn’t deserve such a fate, drowned in a watery grave that had no business flooding the land like this.
If this was Osial’s work… then the Lord of the Vortex had much to answer for. Guizhong was sure that Lige would agree with her, and he definitely wouldn’t be the only god to do so.
Speaking of–
Guizhong holds out her hand, where a Geo crystalfly alights gently on her fingertip, tingling with a familiar energy signature. The crystalfly flaps its wings, then lifts up into the air again –and begins flying in a very specific direction.
Follow.
“You’d better have a good explanation for all of this, Lige,” she mutters under her breath.
While Lige is not one to shy away from battle, he is not one for meaningless, wanton destruction, laying waste to anything and everything around him. Guizhong trusts that he wouldn’t have intentionally caused such destruction, but if he had really been pushed to this extent by Osial, then… the Lord of the Vortex was far more dangerous than either of them had suspected.
Concern rises in her chest, coupled with worry and anxiety for her partner.
The emotions do not abate until she finally catches sight of him again. Lige looks… definitely more roughed up than Guizhong remembers seeing him this morning. And he’s also injured, with a particularly serious gash torn diagonally across his chest, still bleeding heavily –even though his expression remains passive and unchanging, as if he doesn’t feel the pain at all.
But Guizhong does.
Tears spring to her eyes, “Lige!”
The Geo crystalfly that had led her to him lands on the other god’s shoulder. Lige blinks, some measure of awareness returning to his eyes and easing his stone visage… and he nods in her direction, relaxing slightly at the sight of an ally. “Guizhong. You’re here.”
“Of course I am!” Had he expected otherwise? Just because Guizhong wasn’t a god who was suited for combat didn’t mean that she couldn’t fight. “What in the world happened, Lige? Is this Osial’s work? Should we be expecting an invasion?”
“An invasion…” Lige mutters, amber eyes hardening. “It is possible. Although it won’t be happening for quite some time, I’d imagine.”
Guizhong frowns. “Are you certain?”
“Yes,” Lige nods. Then, in that infuriatingly unchanging cadence of his, “He just lost five of his six heads. I’d be surprised if he regains enough strength to lead an invasion and wage war anytime soon.”
The Lord of the Vortex is one of the oldest gods! One of the most powerful Hydro gods on this side of the ocean! And he just–?
Guizhong gapes at him, “You–?!”
Lige shakes his head. “I claimed two heads. The other three were her work.”
And so saying, the god gestures to the side. At this point, Guizhong finally focuses on the others who’d also been present this entire time –a heavily injured bird spirit who watches the two of them separately, clutching tightly onto an unconscious girl in his arms.
No, not just a girl. That was… another god?
The bird spirit shifts uneasily under Guizhong’s attention. Were it not for his wings being all but shredded, she has no doubt that he would’ve taken flight perhaps the very instant that she’d arrived–
“There’s no place for you and your new god to go to even if you run,” Lige says. “Osial may have been dealt a grievous blow, but his armies remain. His influence stretches wherever the water reaches, and it will be quite some time before the waves subside. You’ll only be endangering the both of you, if you run.”
The bird spirit says nothing in response.
“We’re not going to hurt you,” Guizhong says gently, crouching down to the young spirit’s height. Lige’s words might be a little scary, but Guizhong can read him well enough by this point to know that he’s legitimately concerned for these two. “Let us help you and your god, please?”
The bird spirit still says nothing. But his gaze wavers, flickering between them and the bloodied god that he clutches in his arms.
“I promise that we will not harm you or your god. Come with us to the Guili Assembly, and we will get you treated,” Guizhong tells him. Then, reaching out a hand and pointing towards Lige, “You know who he is, right?”
“… The Groundbreaker.”
“That’s right,” Guizhong says encouragingly. “He’s also the God of Contracts. So if I make a promise before the God of Contracts, then know that my words can be trusted, and that I will not act in bad faith to you or your god, alright?”
