i'm gonna make my painful contribution to The Discourse and say i do not see the harm in women reclaiming female centric spirituality.
i am not a religious person nor do i want to become one but spirituality is also about culture, community and celebration. i would much rather women celebrate nature, the female form, and "divine femininity" than patriarchal phallocentric religions. that "divine femininity" is used pejoratively has always tickled me considering we live in a world hooked on divine masculinity. the old matricentric religions are really the only form of female culture devoid of male-centric worship we can grasp at, since men have dominated our belief systems for thousands of years. and women learning about the old religions is the best way to unravel the myth of the male creator, and realise it is really women who are the closest thing to a "god" on Earth.
there's also an element here, which i think is deeply capitalist, patriarchal, and a little racist, of people considering the connection to & celebration of nature as somehow primitive. i think that the lifestyles most of us live now, with none of us knowing anything about the land around us is actually very infantile and regressive for humanity as a whole. the ways of life we consider "primitive" (primitive communism, matrilineal societies) are really what we need to find ways to return to post-capitalism. they were in tune to nature, sustainable, and much more communal & equal. how can nature be primitive or ascientific when science *is* in nature, and the practices of these old societies were early scientific discoveries & practices. as a Black person, my community is often trying to reclaim our lost practices. it makes sense to me that women would try to do so too.
#i think most of the people posting against this are not understanding what is meant by spirituality#it's not necessarily beliefs in spirits+magic#imo it's something quite sensory#i don't wanna celebrate things like magic & witchcraft personally but#i am looking to replace the christian holidays with nature centered holdiays (the wheel of the year - samhain etc)#radblr

i hate how much of my life revolves around asking myself “am i being overly sensitive/dramatic or are my feelings valid here?”. being so easily hurt and upset sucks. i feel like im too soft for this world
#just thinking about general stuff nothing specific#you’d think at some point i’d get thicker skin after getting hurt over and over but no. i can’t seem to toughen up#autism#idk if it’s related but tagging to see?#actuallyautistic#autistic#autistic things#highly sensitive person#highly sensitive people#autistic adult#autistic community#rejection sensitive dysphoria#rejection sensitivity#actuallyadhd#personal#neurodivergent#hypersensitivity#sensory overload#i cry so easily too it’s embarrassing#someone just gets a lil angry at me and im already crying#which is probably a result of verbal/emotional abuse idk#emotion regulation

A lot of people headcanon prowl as being autistic for his absolute worst traits, and use this headcanoned autism as absolution for his worst acts, and I think that says a lot about how they view autistic people + think autism absolves people of being responsible for the harm they cause, both of which are incredibly abelist beliefs and the latter being incredibly infantilizing.
#Also if you wanna talk about characters who show autistic traits jazz shows several#You know like thinking it's rude to interrupt a song by transforming#Which can easily be shown by the idea of how autistic people tend to personify things#Best displayed by the article this paper will be sad if you don't read it#Also as someone who enjoys playing the bass for sensory seeking reasons I see myself there.

Whenever someone says "This would kill a Victorian child." Or "This would kill a medieval peasant." I have to think about Machete. Would he... would he survive eating a Dorito?
.
#I've never had doritos myself so I have no point of reference#I think they sell them here nowadays but it's a fairly new thing and I don't eat a lot of chips#they had spices in the past but they were extremely expensive#I think most of them had to be imported from South/Southeast Asia#India in particular#few could afford such luxury goods but if you could serve people spicy food it was a mark of wealth#so historically a lot of upper class dishes were extra flavorful#potentially to an overpowering degree maybe#it was a status thing#a dorito wouldn't kill him but I've mentioned he secretly tends to favor somewhat bland and unthreatening foods#that won't set off his sensory issues#he'll eat the various nutmeg cinnamon clove saffron ginger creations people serve to him because declining would be a massive faux pas#but it's not an enjoyable experience#answered#anonymous#give him some light broth and a little bit underseasoned chicken to eat with his watered down wine

whats ur fucking deal
#GGGRRRRRRGRRRR GGRGAGGHHH#despicable me#maxime le mal#felonious gru#gruxime#spread the word.#pre transition maxime if anyone gaffffffff#realising i can just draw shit and not have to explain myself or provide full context. awesome (provides anyway)#non descript minion. i like the idea that they go to school w gru in like shifts each week#maxime has a cokcroach ☝️ on his shoulder#they look so fucking stupid next to each other i cant get them to look normal. sorry gru ur built so weird#i need to do more kinda doodly stuff and not alwayssss full pieces#this uniform is pretty cute btw but strange that the trousers and skirt colours r different?#i mean actually. my school did that at one point but its still odd to me#btwwwwww design notes.#was torn abt giving gru his scarf but i thought it wld clash too much. for me i feel the tie serves the same purpose#looking at the One scene we see the uniform it seems the dress code is… not soooo tight? but this is also 30/40 yrs prior soooo idk#(also yeah debatably the uniform wld have been different. but fuckkkk that shit)#forrrrr maxime i like to think his glasses r like actually prescription but he uses tinted ones bc 1. he saw nefario once and was like#‘FUCKKK THATS KINDA CRAZY COOL’ and stole the idea#and also 2. he is light sensitiveeeeeee. :3#gloves r again mostly cus of sensory issues but also this kinda body dysmorphia thing he has going on#samew the socks.#was considering tights buttttt i didnt see any of the students wearing them and also booooo tights suck. so just knee length socks#so he can get around dress code andddd still cover up more#plusssss it lets him not have to shave his legs :T#shoes i didnt see any pattern i assume u can just wear whatever lollll#i give him a hairclip toooooo just cus theyre cute. and put some greeeeen in itttt#btw drew the minion w the gay flag then realised it wldnt make sense w maxime being pre transition but#i think its funnier to imply the minion just sees right thru him immediately

You know, I think there was a real moment of clarity achieved here with the revelation that he's the thing most likely to get in his own way. That's like, the most self-awareness he's shown over the entire course of IZ canon, I'm almost proud. It's too bad about the brain damage, but,
#invader zim#zim#iz posting#natterings#saph reads#im half joking here but also not#there IS something kind of brilliant in zim realizing hes at his most competent when not given a moment to think#sidenote one of my all time favorite zim fics has him broken out of delusion through extended white room torture#and at this point i think its just canon to me that the greatest weapon against zims psychological defenses is sensory deprivation#i mean it makes SENSE#zim is in a near constant state of state of motion and hes smart enough that simply not thinking too hard about things#is his only recourse for handling certain obvious truths#so what happens when you take everything away and leave him alone to drown in himself for weeks and weeks

steve ‘floor time’ harrington and eddie ‘no one touch or perceive me’ munson. they flinch at every noise even though they expected a good night, a stable night, but something changed and they’re in sensory overload. steve tries to take eddie’s hand but he pulls away immediately, shrinking in on himself. steve hums and cocks his head, signalling eddie to follow him.
they leave the loud and lively living room, the kids yelling all over each other, and find a dark and empty room and just lie on the floor for a while before they’re ready to come back. they don’t talk, don’t touch, just lie there next to each other. eddie takes steve’s hand when he’s ready for touch again. they start talking in hushed voices, bringing noise back, rebooting their senses, slowly and gently easing each other in again.
when they come back, hand in hand, mike turns down the music and lucas makes sure to remind people not to talk too loudly. the boys are drained, but the kids try their best. they’re all trying their best.
#steddie#neurodivergent steddie#i am in absolute sensory overload but it’s my brother’s birthday and people are talking about things i can’t add to#and asking stupid questions when i need silence and they bump into me and i’m about to snap and i don’t wanna#because officially i’m Fine™️#i’m screaming i’m yelling but i silence and just thinking about neurodivergent steddie to stay sane. the usual etc etc#just a concept i might work on later when i have my words back. i cannot make them work rn

how does antiquing work in Star Trek?
like, okay, there's no scarcity Because Replicators. great! except you can't replicate an antique, not the real thing. probably some AMAZING reproductions- 24th-century historical costumers must be having the time of their lives, because as great as modern synthetic baleen is, imagine what you could do with a machine that literally replicates the exact molecular structure of the same! or that extinct flax that made medieval linen so great! -but I know antique collectors. there's nothing like the feeling of something you know so many other people have loved for centuries
is it like a barter system? do you go to the antique "shop" with things passed down in your family or found in the equivalent of a Facebook buy-nothing group, and trade what you have for what the history nerd running the place has based on your respective interests?
is Brimfield like a giant swap meet? could I go with, say...a big bag full of my grandmother's chunky 1950s costume jewelry and trade it for 1880s blouse waists because the stall owner wants the former and I want the latter? equivalent value wouldn't matter- what's value, beyond how much you treasure something? nobody's got rent to make or bills to pay, after all
do people become antiques "dealers" just for the thrill of the hunt and the pleasure of matching an object to someone who will love it? you don't have to work, after all; you can spend your whole life searching the world for rare treasures if that brings you joy
this is a nice thought
#star trek#worldbuilding#oh my god think of the wonderful materials you could have at your disposal to make clothes out of though#with replicators#as much merino and silk-velvet and cashmere as you wanted. aforementioned Good Linen. the lightest#sheerest voile imaginable#forget pajama jumpsuits; their world could gain back some of the sensory textile richness ours has lost#furs- anything you wanted! from any animal! because it's not FROM the animal but it's exactly the same!#it's not 'faux fur' made of plastic- it IS the real thing#hi my name is Marzi and I grew up on TNG but internalized NONE of the aesthetic and got bored in the battle scenes

I'm back again with another art
Though I'm, unfortunately, the bearer of bad news :
I messed up the background
I wantex to draw Bunny Mr.Devil for March, but the blue background was definitely a bad choice *sob*
Though I hope Mr.Devil is still looking good.
I hope you're doing well and thank you for all the drabbles and fics 🫶
- 🎠
Buny :D.... You have absolutely nothing to apologize for, chief this looks incredible same as all the other pieces you sent in. Thank you kindly - I know the months almost over but with your permission I'd like to use this as my pfp with credit where it's due of course. I understand completely if not and thanks again 🐰❤️
#Traditional artists are built different because I cry everytime a pencil touches paper.#I think this is also just a sensory thing because besides being ass at drawing on paper the sound of the pencil makes me want to explode#Fanart

Tyelkormo, Morifinwe & Curufinwe
Nelyafinwe & Kanafinwe
#tolkien#silmarillion#jrr tolkien#sons of feanor#celegorm#tyelkormo#turkafinwe#caranthir#carnistir#morifinwe#curufin#curufinwe#atarinke#normally i would draw albinos with a purple or blue undertone in the eye but celegorm has seen the light of the trees#that are said to shine through the eyes so thats why theyre red#celegorm is wearing hunter braids which is worn by followers of orome#yes im convinced that the followers of orome is a cult and if not a cult then a religion for itself#i use tyelkorome instead of turkafinwe again because of the cult thing but also because i think he uses it more himself#to feel more empowered by his own actions and not because of his royal blood#caranthir has a bun over his noldor symbolism braids for sensory issues reason#curufin is just rocking the basic noldor royal symbolism braids#yes im still convinced curufin is obsessed with fashion#no not in jewels although he does like that but the lates noldor fashion he can get his hands in he will wear#hes a fashion icon#caranthir probably makes most of his clothes and in return curufin makes him his jewelry#celegorm just got out from a fight in the middle of a random forest#curu and tyelko has simpler and practical clothes which is usual of the noldor whereas moryo has more of a show off#i give him this as i headcannon him as the riches one of his time and not being afraid to show off#and the layers and fur is to prove his alliance to the haladin as i see them as nomadic people preferring colder weather and wind#moryo also looks wider as i think it was a sign of beauty for a lot of people in the first age except from the elvers from valinor

An AWS comic
#My art#For the record I am not a medical professional and as far as I know AWS isn't even something you can be diagnosed with???#It's so hard to describe what the two sensory hallucinations really *FEEL* like#Like the time one... You know how a dramatic slow motion scene looks like in an anime?#It's like that but if you made it a 60 fps interpolated version of it#It is an absolutely bizarre feeling#Meanwhile the hyper awareness and everything feeling intense feels like how a fisheye lens shot in an anime feels#No I could not be bothered to try to figure out how to draw that for this comic#For the record I haven't actually had those visual hallucinations since I was a small small child#Hell I don't even think I had any hallucinations in my teens at all like#The sensory ones just kinda started happening again in the past 7 years or so?#Also the swelling sensation I've only had once so far. Usually I get the hyper awareness sensation#(Also sometimes I get this intense feeling of swaying when I go to bed but that might not be an AWS thing??)#(Like there's other things that could make you feel like you're rocking on a boat when laying down so I didn't include that)#No I have never talked to anyone about these hallucinations because for the longest time I didn't know what they were#And they are like. Harmless. Like I'm 100% aware they're just strange sensations but not real at all#They last max 15 minutes if even that long and they happen like super rarely#Only once have I had the hyper awareness be SO INTENSE it made me feel distressed#So like. It doesn't really affect my life at all? So why bother with it?#Also IDK if I could even go to a doctor and ask about AWS and have them know what that even is#And even if I could as far as I know there is no treatment for it so like. Whatever#As long as I don't start having distressing hallucinations or visual hallucination's I'll be fiiiiiine

im not autistic but i believe in their beliefs (because i share like 80 % of symptoms typical for autistic women with yall)
#overstimulation? check#bursts of anger? check#overwhelmed in social situations and needing a lot of downtime in my safe space? having comfort people? check#seeming ‚weird‘ to other people? check#always feeling like i dont fit in with the girls? check#overly excited over small things? check#sensory issues? check#never knowing when its my turn to talk in conversation? check#people reacting weirdly when i interject in conversations? check#monologueing about my special interests? check#special talent? semi check because i dont think im that good at drawing but i used to get in trouble in school for drawing too much#often say inappropriate/inappropriately frank and honest things unintentionally? check#extremely analytical thinking especially regarding social relationships but unable to make me less weird? check#having been the odd one in my family and school and at work all my life? check#having specific rules how everything has to be done? needing rituals and structure and a controlled environment? check#social anxiety as a result?
