The offhand reveal that Nico casually keeps bits of human bone on him just in case (and also he can shape those bits of bone into things like keys) lives in my head rent-free. He needs to get into a locked garden so he just pulls a human fingerbone out of his pocket so he can shape it into a key and based on Will's non-reaction this is not unusual behaviour for him. This is a thing. Nico has human bones on him at all times just in case he needs them. It is now a canon part of his character that he does this. I love it.

How the kings would react to the shipping of them and MC
Satan
He was hanging out with his nobles, just talking gossip like normal people
But Paimon was just staying on his phone through half the conversations
"Paimon! What's so important that you're not interested in seing Sitri's baby pictures?"
Sitri was dying in the corner while Zagan was rubbing his back
Paimon takes his eyes out of his phone and giggles.
"Oh, I was just arguing with some people onlineeee"
Satan puts down the pictures of baby Sitri on the table (which Astaroth swiftly takes for himself. This will make such great blackmail material) and sits next to Paimon curiously.
"What are these dumpass arguing about now? Don't tell me Leraye started sending death threats to Barbatos over the weather again."
"Noooooo, it's better than thaaaaat. People are arguing about who the child of Solomon would dateeeee"
Satan takes Paimon's phone and starts to scroll through the comversations.
"And I'm winning, right? I mean MC has a pact with me, I was the first to meet them, it's obvious that I'm the one they'll choose"
"I know, riiiiiight?"
Satan would become the most active person in the shipping forum, just spamming it with pictures of him and MC
It's a way to assert his dominance over the whole thing.
Gamigin almost started a war between Paradise Lost and Gehenna when he started insulting Satan under his photos of MC
Mod Jjok had to work overtime to stop the harassment everyone in Gehenna was throwing at Gamigin for that
Lucifer had to send a formal apologise on behalf of his son to stop the situation from escalating further.
Mammon
Recently Eligos asked him to try on different fashion styles
At some point Mammon asks Eligos what this is all about
"The child of Solomon mentioned that they are interested in gothic fashion, so I'm trying to see what clothing would fit you and abide by goth fashion rules."
Mammon chuckles and ruffles Eligos' hair before telling him that he is already to his master's liking
"But there are a lot of people that claim that MC would be more interested in the other kings. We can't have that! Just yesterday Amon was bragging that MC and Beelzebub went on a date!"
"I'm glad they had fun with Beelzebub, but Beelzebub is mine and I am MC's. They can have fun with anyone they please."
Eligos' jaw drops to the floor. He gets flashbacks of all the arguments he had online about this and how he bought bots to mass report any Mammon x Mc slander
Eligos constantly tries to convince Mammon that the shipping wars are a big but Mammon doesn't really care.
At most he sends pictures of him and MC cuddling to Satan to spite him like all good friends do with eachother.
Leviathan
Leviathan is a lurker through the forums
It's where he got most of his information about you before kidnapping you
Probably reports all posts that aren't for the ship with him and you for false information
He would constantly post pictures of you and him doing mundane things with captions like "Living life perfectly", "Greatest day of my life", "Me and my wonderful significant other"
Makes everyone in Hades like his post and floud it with compliments
He'll make an account for you where he roleplays as a version of you that's madly innlove with you
The most likely to start an actual war between Hades and whatever ship is trending that morning
He sometimes doesn't sleep and just scrolls through the forums, refreshing constantly to see if you're having fun with someone else
King of all doxxers
No VPN will protect you from Leviathan's wrath
Beelzebub
Beelzebub was tied to his office chair with Bael glaring at him
"Go on, look at the complaint. What does it say?"
"I should take a vacation. I'm already burned out. You know, overworking is very bad for your health."
Bael glares at him with not an ounce of amusement behind his eyes
When Beelzebub skims through the files, something catches his attention
"Threat of war from Hades? I don't remember going to Hades recently, what happened?"
"While you were away having fun with the child of Solomon, Amon posted pictures of you two going at it on a forum. Next thing I know, his majesty Leviathan declared war on Avisos. I had to talk him out of it, but we now have to write a report about what happened and send it to the other kingdoms to tell them that it was resolved without any casualties."
Beelzebub was laughing his ass off while Bael was question his life choices
Beelzebub asks Amon to show him the forum which the younger devil does happily.
He sometimes go through it often, but he uses it as a way to find out where you are.
He's chiller about the whole thing, finding it kind of funny that so many people are so invested in your love life
Lucifer
Gamigin won't shut up about it.
If Lucifer took a shot every time Gamigin complained about the shipping wars, he'll dethrone Beelzebub as the king of Gluttuny
Lucifer is a softer lover, only being intense in more private parts of your relationship
So even getting him to kiss you in public (or outside the bedroom) is very hard.
This makes Gamigin's job as a shipper very hard
Lucifer finds the shipping war situation absurd
Why would anyone do this? What is it accompleshing? Why does he suddently get embargos from Hades or Gehenna after he goes on a date with you?
He'll probably have to sit Gamigin down and tell him to stop calling the other kings rude names just because they hang out with you.
It really depends on your reaction to everything as well
If you like being in the spot light, than he'll try to be more open with his affection, giving Gamigin more oportunities to gush about you online
If you want to keep your relationship more private, than he'll make all cameras fracture when pointing at the two of you

Overview of the things I've decided are canon for my son of zeus au so far (hopefully I don't forget any):
The gods are dicks. They arent *always* dicks, but I don't want to sugarcoat them from their original myths, they do bad shit and often
Denki is favored by Apollo, Dionysus, and Hermes the most, Persephone also likes him pretty well
Zeus is Zeus, meaning who knows when he'll decide he loves his son or hates his son or just genuinely doesn't care, he's such a little hypocrite bitch ain't he
Quirks are the exact same as they are in canon, the presence of the Greek gods didn't affect that at all, the gods have nothing to do with quirks and while they still are probably banging like rabbits they aren't really that active in Japan so no, no one else at UA is a demigod
Zeus slept with Kaminari's mom because he was intrigued by a mortal with a power in his domain (electricity) that didn't come from him
Since Kaminari's powers come from both his quirk and his dad, there's some complexities to them
Kamimari was born with lightning powers but they worked differently before his quirk actually manifested (I'm toying with the idea that his quirk manifested while being smiled by Zeus with lightning? I haven't decided if I like that or not yet)
Kaminari doesn't want other people knowing he's a demigod for classic hero story reasons but also because 1. Greek gods being real is a secret and he ain't about to be the one that spilled it 2. It'd be really complicated and annoying to explain and let's be real, at least one person would come out of that thinking he went crazy
Athena doesn't like him because, well, dunceface, duh. She does appreciate his strategic abilities though
Ares also doesn't like him because he doesn't like killing people, Ares and Athena hate that they dislike the same kid so much that they'd consider changing their tune about him on just that alone
In junior high he went on a big quest, I haven't decided on any details of it, but it involved a lot of fighting way to strong people while way too young as most quests do, this is also how he got into Apollo, Hermes, Dio, and Persephone's (and by extention Hades since he loves Persephone enough to deal with anyone she likes) good graces, the quest was likely given by Zeus and likely involved Hera trying to kill him
He's not really surrounded by people in the ancient greek community, it's not like he has a camp half blood and even if he did he'd skip it to go to UA training anyway, but he is pretty well known in those circles post big quest
I'm toying with the idea that he failed his first quest and thus had to go on a redemption quest
Kaminari doesn't like being serious, but despite what his classmates and teachers think, he CAN do serious, how else would he be such a big shot in the Greek community?
Imma be real, there was probably some kind of war that Kaminari had to lead an army in or something. I'm sorry, child soldier stories just have so many layers to dissect it's not my fault that they're compelling in a way
My point is, serious Kaminari is like war general levels serious, but not even LOA attacks are bad enough to bring out serious kaminari, are you kidding, did you gloss over the part about god war? He's having a little trouble taking literally any threat at UA seriously and he'll have trouble taking almost every threat as a pro hero seriously, it's not his fault junior high set the bar way too high on what situations are serious!
One of Kaminari's demigod powers, as the son of Zeus, is that he can't take fall damage. No matter how high up he falls from, he will never ever get worse than a few scrapes
Pissing him off really badly makes the sky get stormy, I'm talking immediate clear skies to nothing but gray clouds moving in and you can't even SEE the sky anymore, also possibly rain, he doesn't do it often but he can and he'd probably be able to control it if he were to practice his demigod powers along with his quirk but we all know he ain't gonna do that any time soon
He can sword fight, he hopes this never comes up
He has to keep reminding Dionysus about the legal drinking age, Dionysus thinks it's stupid and therefore never listens, they have argued about it multiple times
Apollo and Kaminari play chess together on occasion
Hermes at one point gave Kami a special knife when he decided he liked him enough to give him a gift, it's a magic thief's blade which is just a dagger that cannot be found on his person no matter what you do. Pat him down? You won't feel it. Scan him? It didn't show. Metal detector? It didn't beep at all. But he can pull it out whenever. He won't but he does *have* it just in case. I'm also deciding if making it not be able to leave him would be too much. I don't want it to feel like a riptide ripoff, I'm thinking maybe it sprouts wings and flies to him?
Yes, I've just decided, the Thief's Knife will fly to him if left behind and can squeeze into any crack no matter how small to get to him
I'm shinkami trash so you KNOW shinkami is about to be canon in this au
In either 2A or 3A, Kaminari tells Shinsou his secret about the gods being real and him being Zeus' son, he spends a great amount of time explaining all the details to Shin and answering his questions, it's a lot
What can I say? Shinsou is gus confidant, he was gonna have to tell him at some point 🤷🏻‍♀️💅
He doesnt tell anyone else, but obv they've got to eventually find out somehow, what you think I'd just let it be lame?? Even after they find out, he won't tell them anything he doesn't have to, waits until it comes up to explain things, it's just too complicated he doesn't want to go through all that AGAIN and with twenty people this time
Oh and before you ask, I'm gonna say no on the flying thing. I know it could be a power of a Zeus kid, I know it could be cool, but no. No he cannot fly.
I can't think of anything else right now but I can't wait to wake up in a cold sweat tonight and realise what i forgot
Also, I'm gonna go ahead and tag @iys-cloud since I know iys really likes this au :]

hi, i know the episode came out weeks ago, but i wanted to talk about ep 277 and your essay on it. i thought it was very well thought out and had brought up lots of concerns abt apollo's other victims and the harm persephone caused to others that i just. hadn't really thought about myself because honestly this webcomic is a BLUR to me LOL. thank you for writing these insights and putting them online for others to read ! i think you manage to keep a respectful distance to rachel [1/]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, regarding how the SA was handled...
Tumblr media
I think Rachel did exactly as well as anyone might have expected someone like her to write a plotline like that.
Honestly if Rachel really did want to do the arrow thing, I think it would have worked WAY better if she had used the arrow of hate. First of all, because it had already been established back in S2 when it was shot at him by Psyche, but ALSO because making it an arrow of love confirmed that Eros literally did what Apollo asked despite the fact that he's Persephone's best friend and should have been more suspicious of what he was going to use it for. Why not just do a bait & switch where Apollo is under the impression that it's an arrow of love but Persephone trusts in her friend and pieces it together that it's probably an arrow of hate? It would also payoff the whole "news crew being nearby" thing (as well as all the other gods that just randomly showed up) because uh oh now they all see his true nature and he can't hide behind his lies anymore!
After all, as I mentioned in my previous post about this (the one I believe you're referring to) it's not like there wasn't already foreshadowing that Apollo was going to fall on his own sword the way of Mr Waternoose from Monster's Inc, he was already showing signs of cracking under the guilt that he was feeling towards how he treated Persephone/Eris/Hermes/etc. so why did it have to be Persephone taking a massive risk by sticking him with an arrow of love that still doesn't fully explain why he would even suddenly be a changed man? Loads of people like Apollo think they're in love / define their infatuation as love so I don't see how an arrow of love would suddenly make him empathetic to her pain. Especially when, again, he still begs her not to make him confess, so the guilt he's feeling is still completely empty and unmotivated.
I will leave this with one final thing that I saw the other day that very much reminded me of the Apollo SA plotline and I think it rings very true for the misdirected conclusion of the plot itself:
Tumblr media
One of the biggest issues of the Apollo SA plotline, at least in my opinion, is that it never really gets to the root of why people like Apollo exist. There absolutely were strong foundations for this - he's the son of a guy who's known for being a serial cheater, he's popular and egotistical and is used to women wanting him, etc. - but all of those foundations kind of fell to the wayside in favor of turning Apollo into just another boogeyman, especially to lift Hades up as a "good man" by comparison (when Hades himself also falls on this spectrum). But many people like Apollo aren't just random guys in an alleyway or conspiring with some "higher power" that's manipulating them, they're men who fundamentally do not understand consent and assault on the varying spectrums in which it exists from "SA just exists, oh well" passiveness to "I'm an actual monster who gets pleasure out of victimizing women" aggressiveness. I think there's a lot to discuss about how people like Apollo exist WITHOUT sympathizing with them, but LO manages to do neither - not only does it give us uncomfortable and unnecessary looks into the rapist's POV more than we get the victims, but it does it in a way that doesn't actually address the issue of how people like Apollo come to be, it's just "Apollo is the big evil boogeyman who raped Persephone". Not only does it not actually put enough focus on the victims, but it reduces the societal and cultural complexities of where Apollo's brand of egotistical entitlement comes from to just "some guys just be evil like that". Guys like Apollo don't just come out of the womb like that, they're often shaped into what they are by a society that both excuses them for awful behavior towards girls ("Boys will be boys!") and enables - if not outright encourages - them to objectify women as trophies that they're entitled to. Even the seemingly innocent and sentimental practice of "giving away a bride" at a wedding is rooted in these patriarchal systems, with the belief that a woman first "belongs" to her father before being "given to" her husband.
It's the part of feminism that often gets overlooked - it's not just about uplifting female voices and helping survivors speak up about and heal from SA, it's also about deconstructing and challenging the patriarchal systems that lead to SA victims being created in the first place. Sure, Apollo got sentenced to building temples in the Mortal Realm, but what is that actually doing to address the bigger topic of how men like him come to exist in the first place? Especially when it was also treated as a good thing for TGOEM to be disbanded, instead of, idk... reworking it into a women's support group for survivors like Persephone?
IDK, it's a very complicated subject that you can approach from a million different angles, I don't think that my criticizing it should outweigh the opinions of those who were satisfied with the punishment that was given to Apollo (my saying the SA plotline sucked doesn't mean you're not allowed to find your own validation in it) but I do think that, at best, Rachel ended the SA plotline the only way she could because she herself is just not equipped to tackle such broad subjects that require a lot more education, experience, and nuance than what she's capable of writing. There are definitely 1298423108 better ways that plotline could have been resolved, but not with Rachel Smythe at the helm.
And that's my many cents on that.

picture this: nico & percy go on a picnic date by the river styx
mrs o'leary is probably with them (percy insisted on bringing her), there's definitely blue food (also thanks to percy) and they're probably secretly hiding from hades the entire time
percy ends up eating most of the food while simultaneously chatting nico's ear off but nico thinks it's one of the best dates he's had. and it puts how much percy is okay with nico's underworld side into perspective for him considering percy's there voluntarily (much better than will)
~ inhabitinganotheruniverse
(so when I reblog this I look less strange lol)
Oh my gosh!! Yes!—a hundred times yes to this, Pip 🥹 I am having so much brainrot here.
First, how do they open the tunnel to the Underworld again? Does Percy sing? (I know he canonically can't, but I'd like to believe that somewhere in the future, his voice evolves to like that of sirens >.<) Or... does Nico sing? Like you know, maybe something Italian, or Latin, or just Christmas-y ("Silent Night" is the first thing that I can think of) that he remembers from his past. Either way, both of them are mesmerized and whipped.
Then, ofc, which part of their relationship are they having this date? Are they boyfriends? Or husbands (like an anniversary thing)? Or... (crazy i know) Percy just "kidnaps" Nico because Nico is too stressed with Will and Percy knows Nico misses the Underworld, too. They go there as "friends" :3 If it's the latter, their "picnic stuff" comes later when Percy calls Mrs. O'Leary from the shadows and she has a cute bag with Sally's baked goods and something she made for Nico only.
The general dynamic of the date that I can imagine is Percy just being Percy, telling Nico what happened during his first visit in the Underworld, downplaying what he did and how he survived and Nico is just... in love. But also, a bit of angst is when Nico remembers how he betrayed Percy. BUT! BUT!
I remember that after Nico's betrayal in the books, Percy dreamed of Maria di Angelo and how she was kill*d. I have this hc that Percy thinks his swim at the River Styx was bad because of the floating memories that he couldn't quite grasp, but when he thinks really hard about it, Nico living in the modern world without his memories, is like a daily swim in the River Styx. Ugh, I wish I am more coherent for this. Let me just pull up what I wrote before:
Tumblr media
Anywaaaaay. This idea of them having a date by the River Styx is a sign of courage and acceptance, a thing that only they could understand. I think at some point, Styx appears and coos at how they're enjoying their date and suddenly says, "You don't have the Curse of Achilles anymore, but I'm glad you ended up with your anchor after all." Percy and Nico are just 👀
Plot twist: Hades knew all along and somewhere in his palace, Persephone is teasing him how he softened for a son of his brother, after all.
Lmao. Pip, this has gotten out of hand. But yeah, yapping about percico is our thing, so ig you get it 😆

Percy Jackson: Jason is probably jealous of Nico and Percy and hates it
I mean gods are not the most involved parents and everyone messed their kid up at least once but there is defendly a range between good godly parent and bad godly parent (Zeus). Yeah I know Jason is technically the son of Jupiter but they are still the same just from diffrent points of views so I am just gonna role with it. I love bonding between Poseidon&Percy or Hades& his kids but Jason just doesn't have that at all.
Hades is as far as godly parents go actually a good father to Nico. He cares for him and wants him to be happy and healthy. He is just very bad at showing it but that isn't just a Hades&Nico thing that's just Hades' personality. He also tries to protect and teach Nico and welcomes him in the underworld. Nico has the closest connection to his fathers domain, he is by now a part of it or made it part of himself. If I understood it correctly then Hades was actually around when Nico grew up and that only chanced after Zeus killed Maria. Hades also made Nico his ambasitor, he trusts and respects Nico. And he fought a battle to help Nico even if it was after being pestered by him. That is another thing, Nico is allowed way more leeway to speak freely with his father then most gods would allow their kids.
Poseidon and Percy are a bit diffrent but I think they have defindly grown closer. While Poseidon wasn't around when Percy grew up that wasn't fully his fault and he tried to protect Sally and Percy, same as Hades offered Maria. He also is known to at least care when his children call for help or answer them. Poseidon while not the most present or war parent clearly cares for Percy. He also allowes Percy most of his insolence, if out of respect or amusement or just plain resignation I don't know but propably all three.
And then there is Zeus. Nope. He isn't around at all and usually causes his kids some harm (directly or indirectly) He claimed Jason and that was it. No conversation, no protection nada (he saved Thalia but let's be real he turned her into a damn tree and left her like that) Jason has no emotional connection to his father whatsoever. He fights and fights so hard to be good enought but his father just doesn't give a damn. Zeus doesn't care for Jasons wellbeing or happieness, he barely acknowledges him. Jason can't go into his fathers domain like Percy can, or like Nico who is as much as home in the underworld as in camp. Jason can't just go to Olympus, he wouldn't dare it, why would he? Zeus is an asshole.
I think Jason doesn't want to be jealous of his friends, his cousins but that isn't something he can help. He wants what they have with their fathers. It hurts that he doesn't have that and he knows that he never will but they do. He wants to be happy for them but sometimes he is just a bit bitter about it.

Rise of Red Rewrite Brainstorming;
Tumblr media
I'm rewriting Rise of Red to make it fit into my version of the disney descendants and am at the brainstorming phase. But I'm stuck on a couple of things and need feedback.
Here are the differences first:
1. So first off, Bridget and Ella didn't go to school at the same time (because I'm trying to make it fit up in the timeline and match the other things we knew previously).
This is because I'm pretty sure it was mentioned the heroes went to school together at some point and if Alice is old enough to have a teenage daughter in the same high school as Ella's oldest son then she's likely around Ella's age. Which means they probably went to school around the time, either together or a few years apart.
(Whether that be college or high school doesn't really matter).
It also fits Bridget having three kids instead of one in my au too.
Right now I'm figuring out if her husband was at school with her and was her only friend in Ella's place or if she was friendless in school, and ended up marrying him so she could obtain the throne.
Either way she'll have her siblings but I'm not sure how they become strained as of yet.
2. Uliana's gang still exists at the same time as Bridget.
Did the math to figure out if this would work and it ended up working.
Peter Pan takes place in 1904 from what I can tell (going off the movie that is).
Alice in wonderland takes place sometime in mid to late 1800s.
The little mermaid takes place mod to late 1800s.
And Morgie's mom, Morgana Le Fay is a part fae in some tales. Fae live longer than humans so it's entirely possible for her to have a young child around the same time.
Assuming Maleficent, Hades, and maybe Persephone were de-aged around that time the group can both exist and go to school around the same time as Bridget.
They also all still go to the old version of Merlin Academy (it still exists today, it just split off from Auradon Prep and is now a Camelot exclusive school).
Also Hook is still a pirate, after getting kicked out of his Naval School, and has been to the Neverland but he doesn't have his Hook yet.
This is possible because his mother, as shown in Jake and the Neverland Pirates, was a teacher at Neverland Academy. So he's been to Neverland and is a somewhat feared pirate (not too much so though because he's still a teenager and Peter Pan won't exist for another few years yet).
Also Hook has a brother here because I remember somewhere he had one and I thought it would be fun. He also is friends with the three Smee brothers (one of which isn't a pirate since Smee has a great nephew in Auradon in 'the school of secrets' web series) but isn't as close with them as he is with Uliana's gangs (because they and the few other pirates hanging around are mainly just lackeys to him atm).
3. The girls (and their friends) don't just travel to one time period.
Did this so they could both still see teen Ella even though I have no idea what to do with that plot point just yet.
4. Chad is missing for a few years (cause I started my rewrite idwa with that plot in mind ages before the flim even came out).
5. Glass Hearts is canon (it could be pre Glass Hearts or Glass Hearts happens in the middle or epilogue).
6. The characters are slightly redesigned and they were friends before the QoH's hostile siege of Wonderland.
7. Either Chloe and Red (and friends) are eighteen or Wonderland has been under control of the QoH for only six years timeline wise. Haven't decided.
8. Queen of Hearts was on the isle.
9. Ace and Chester and other Wonderlandian next gen members are mentioned/maybe saved at some point (doesn't affect Glass Hearts outcome at all).
Now. On to the point/points where I'm stuck:
1. I can't decide whether they fix things with one go around of the past or if they have to go back to fix an error they made.
I don't want Bridget never having turned evil to be the permanent outcome because yes, while that seems like a good outcome it really isn't.
For Red anyway.
I don't know how many of you have seen back to the future and I guess even if you had it doesn't really get dwelled on for long but....
Marty remembers changing the past.
He remembers the original timeline only.
His first one, the one he grew up in.
He doesn't remember this new great timeline where his parents never fell out of love, his siblings are successful, Bif is kept in check by Mr. And Mrs. McFly, and everything in his life is great.
Everyone else does except him.
And I think the same would probably be true for Red based on what we saw.
She doesn't remember her mom being loving growing up.
She doesn't remember her mom baking her cupcakes or being nice to the people of wonderland.
She doesn't remember a mother who never transfigured her friends (happened in the book) and who never would stage a coup at her daughter's soon to be school.
She doesn't remember a mother who shows love a healthy way.
She remembers the QoH.
The woman who had strict out of pocket rules and even stricter, harsher punishments like transfiguring people into mindless beings and chopping off their heads.
She remembers the woman who told her _love wasn't it'. That it didn't exist. A woman who, whether she realized it or not, was basically telling her own daughter that she didn't love her or her daughter's other parent.
So while Red now has a loving mother its not everything she imagined. Because Red can't forget her actual mother and all she did, and in this new timeline where her mother didn't do any of that, will never get the apology she so desperately deserved and wanted.
She can't remember this nice woman as her mother. Just as Bridget, the nice girl she went to school with briefly.
She can't remember all the lovely things they supposedly did with the rest of the family.
And it's driving her up the wall.
Red knows it's not fair to be mad at this Bridget for the stuff her real mom did.
She knows it's not fair to lash out at her for what the other her did.
But she's angry and scared and can't remember any of the things she wanted and now has.
And she hates it.
She hates that she finally has what she wanted. She hates that she hates this nice woman for things she didn't do (because Red and Chloe stopped it before she snapped) and she hates her father for being different too.
(I based her dad entirely off the one from the animated movie even though Bridget is the same as in ROR so bare with me).
She hates that her cowardly father who was her favorite parent in the other timeline before she got older and started to resent him is happier and a better dad here.
Hates that this one doesn't cower away from her mother.
That this one is just as happy and perky as the new adult Bridget and that he never stood by while she and her older siblings were worked to the bone, and yelled at and stripped of their joy as their mother became a tyrant.
She hates how he's happier here and louder, and just..
Red hates how unfair it is that this wasn't her life all along and that she can't enjoy it now that it is.
But she's stuck.
Not literally but mentally.
She's stuck on what to do.
She should be happy.
She was never ripped away from her friends or abused here.
And now she has the family she always wanted.
A loving mother who indulges her interests and loves her as a person, and who doesn't yell all the time and hurt their people. A mother who was never hurt and who never turned evil enough to be sent to the isle.
A father who isn't too afraid of her mother to do right by her and her siblings, and their people.
Aunts and uncles who were actually in her life and not against her parents.
And a no longer depressed older sister (named Quinlynn) who, since she's never even been to the isle, isn't depressed over having lost two people she thought were the love of her life and friends she never should have had to outlive so young.
It's only after she realizes that her family is so different from what she remembers that she realizes it isn't complete. Someone is missing.
Her older brother is missing.
It takes one question to her parents for her to realize why he (Hart/Hardy) is missing and why he hasn't been home in the weeks (or less) she and Chloe have been back.
It's because she doesn't have a brother. Not. In. This. Timeline.
Her annoying conflict-avoidant-when-it-came-to- their-mother-only pirate of a brother didn't exist.
Her family didn't know his name.
Uma and her crew didn't know Red (hadn't watched her grow up), and didn't know who she was talking about it.
Why this is, she doesn't know.
Doesn't know whether it's because her parents were happy and off the isle.
Doesn't know if it's because the rumors are true and her brother's REAL other parent is on the either (she heard that he was her mother or father's affair baby but had never believed it before now).
She doesn't know or care why it is. Just that it is.
So now, she's already in a dilemma.
Either she goes back with or without Chloe and allows whatever prank that broke the camel's back to turn her mother evil again and gets her brother back.
Losing this happy, carefree version of her sister and the happy, loving parents (and extended family) she'd always wanted.
Turning her back on teen Bridget, who was so nice and kind and the adult Bridget who thanks to her stayed that way.
Or she turns her back on her brother. Accepting this new loving family and this strange happy version of her sister and life that will never be hers.
Letting go of her mentors (the Badun Detective Agency in my au) and her non-Wonderlandian friends who weren't with her and Chloe and the others when they time traveled.
Accepting a world that isn't truly hers and basically killing her brother.
(Sorry for the ramble).
So either:
1. They only meet Bridget (and no one else) and stop the prank—only to see that she still turned evil due to something that happened after they left.
But they arrived just in time to steal her cards and stop her coup, and the qoh is arrested. Allowing for Red to be placed in her siblings custody and for her to be deemed a hero, ensuring that what would have been a rough time at school had the coup been staged before it could be prevented doesn't happen/isn't as bad.
Fixing the present on one go without any need to go back.
It doesn't solve the problem of Chad's disappearance or allow for Chloe to meet a slightly disillusioned version of her young mom.
It doesn't include the above mentioned angst but includes the angsty idea that nothing could have been done for her mother without removing Uliana's gang from the equation (which, given who exactly is in the gang isn't really an option).
But it's a quick fix with a mostly happy ending. One even better if you figure in that maybe what QoH did to Ace and Chester isn't permanent and can be reversed.
Red will have her friends and siblings back, get taken away from her parents, have an actual social life in school, and get to fall in love with Chloe.
Chloe's saved her parents. Saved Auradon Prep. She doesn't have her brother back but it's maybe starting to heal from his disappearance, and maybe with Red and their friends by her side she can find him.
It's not perfect but it's bittersweet. A mostly happy ending.
Or
2. They met Bridget, stopped the prank, and then met Ella.
Either making her life worse somehow OR intervening a little too early.
Getting Ella out of her abusive home situation and of course, not thinking anything of it because it's the right thing to do. Thinking instead that now the future's gonna be the best because now Chloe's mom has a little less trauma and didn't have to deal with her stepmother's wicked meddling with time this time around.
Only they get to the future.
And Bridget is still nice and loving (which, again brings its own angst that mentioned before) to her (now two instead of three) kids, husband, and siblings as well as her subjects.
Meaning Maddox didn't lose his father to a transfiguration punishment and that his job is now easier.
But things are now worse for almost everyone else who went back in time.
Danny Darling's mom is even more traumatized because somehow something THEY did ended up with one of her brothers dead and doesn't let him or his two older siblings out of her sight.
Shan Deja's father is meaner because Hades and Maleficent, and several others give him a harder time than they did in the original time line on the isle.
Snow White, having now no longer gone to school with Ella and having lost that connection, is more anxious and paranoid than before and stopped her daughter Sophie (Glauco's older sister) from becoming Yen Sid's apprentice. This somehow leading to Glauco getting turned into a tree sooner and not being turned back, unlike the original timeline.
Which means his parents don't recognize his teen self and refuse to believe he isn't pulling some cruel prank on them.
Edith, Hadie's cousin and Eris' daughter,'s mom is now apathetic to her existence when before she was loving because now Hades isn't her friend.
And, as for Hadie and Chloe?
Simple: they, like Red's brother, don't exist in this timeline.
Why?
Well, because since Chloe and Red intervened and got Ella away from the Tremaines sooner it changed things.
Like: Drizella and Anastasia never got redeemed, never made up with Ella just to get sent to the isle anyway, and never met their husbands ( a redeemed Hans Westergaard for Drizella and the baker for Anastasia). Which means their children never got to exist even when they got sent to the isle earlier.
Lady Tremaine's reputation was publicly in ruin and the house was seized and held until Ella turned 19.
By then, instead of Ella having met her Fairy Godmother and getting to meet her Prince Charming she instead received her house.
Getting an education and a pseudo family in the form of the baker's family that took her in but never finding love.
Prince Christopher, unwilling to marry someone he doesn't love, ran away never to be seen again. Leaving his father heartbroken and the kingdom in disarray after he dies.
Chad is no longer missing and he still exists but he was never adopted here.
Meaning he never went to Auradon Prep and never met his friends or the vks. Never became a prince, never became disgraced, and never disappeared into the night never to be seen again when Chloe was ten because she didn't exist and he wasn't a Charming.
He wasn't anyone important to anyone.
Because he'd never been adopted and had found the birth parents who didn't want him, and was turned away.
Because he aged out of the orphanage (the one that was no longer named after their mother's story) and now is nothing like the boy Chloe remembers. Any version of him.
He isn't the kind, excitable struggling boy who loved her to death he was before their grandfather died and before her heart condition got worse and their parents got busier fighting for their step-aunts and their children to be released from the isle.
He's not the teenage Chad little Chloe had built up in her head during the times he rarely came home and avoided her like the plague. The cool one who did no wrong who everyone loved and who found and sat with her under the table she'd hidden under after Dragon Maleficent attacked during Ben's coronation when she was eight.
He's not the heartbroken, cries himself to sleep Chad that he was after Audrey broke up with him.
Or the healing (becoming less of an asshole) Chad that went to Jane's birthday only to come back a cowering, heartbroken mess that could hardly stand to be around Audrey anymore, falling into depression Chad who Hades dumped water on less than a year later at Bal's wedding (the same night Chad would disappear).
And he certainly wasn't the Chad that Chloe had only gotten to know after her brother had vanished into the night.
He wasn't an asshole or a bully, or a cheater who was slowly becoming a more tolerable person.
No. This Chad was none of those.
No, instead... This Chad was quiet and broken. With no friends, no family. No job and no home.
And Chloe, despite very much still being alive and breathing and not disappearing doesn't exist by any records and can't help him because he doesn't know her, and no one would believe her if she tried to tell them anything.
A problem which Hadie is also having.
Because in this timeline instead of a de-aged Maleficent, Hades, and Persephone all growing up and their poly three turning into just Hades and Persephone when Maleficent grew more power hungry...
Well, instead of that, a de-aged Persephone saw the aftermath of an even CRUELER prank that they were involved with and broke up with both Maleficent and Hades like her mother had always wanted. Cutting out their friend group as well and turning her backs on them, going back to her mother and begging to be aged back to her actual age.
Leaving Hades and Maleficent to never break up, and to only get meaner. Ruling the isle together with their friends and raising Mal.
Mal, who despite having no reason to, still comes out pretty much the same. She still chooses good. She still has the same friends and still marries Ben. Only now, she has two lizard parents who let her down and no little brother.
Because Persephone and Hades never had Hadie.
Sure, they had his three oldest siblings before they got de-aged and sure, Maleficent and Hades still had Mal.
But because Persephone and Hades didn't out last Maleficent and Hades, Hadie wasn't born.
Which of course, means they have to go back and fix both of the things they messed up and live with all of all of that knowledge.
Now after that, I'm not sure if I should end it with them just fixing all of that and nothing else.
Or if I should go into my other idea which I combine with this one.
Which is that after they fix whatever they did to mess up their parents stories, they end up landing somewhere in the past and discovering that...
Chad is somehow there.
A grown up version of Chloe's original brother.
A grown up version of Chloe's brother who should not be in a Wonderland bar, serving drinks and several years older than he should be.
They find out that he disappeared into the past on purpose out of shame and because be didn't wanna ruin their family's good name and maker things harder on Chloe than they already were.
They somehow convince him to come back to the future with them.
Only for their meddling to send them smack dab right in the middle of the Queen of Hearts hostile take over of WONDERLAND (six to eight years in Chloe and Red's past).
A couple of months before their Chad ended up in Wonderland.
There's a battle, someone gets hurt, and after some more meddling with the past, the group ends up in a better future.
Red's friends are all human again.
Red and Chloe are apparently dating.
And so on.
(This is probably headache inducing but I wanted to brainstorm and this was fun).

So I'm back on my percy Jackson bs again and I saw this one post on Tiktok claiming that Solangelo is "Klance Coded" and I simply had to laugh because that couldn't be any further from the truth...
Klance is Red and Blue, Fire and Water type polar opposites in both personality and aesthetics
However, not every polar opposite style ship is "Red and Blue Coded" there's also Sun and Moon, ( Or in Solangelo's case, Sun and Star) Light and Darkness.
so basically, and this might be controversial, but I know those who will get it will get it, what I'm trying to say is.....
Solangelo is NOT Klance Coded.
Solangelo is SORIKU Coded
Tumblr media
I can go into heavy detail, and I will!
Will is definitely a lot like Sora in that even when surrounded by so much bad happening or even when he's going through his own stuff, he still puts on a smile and pretends nothing is wrong. of course to his own detriment and also has self sacrificing tendancies. Overworking himself to heal others to the point of exhaustion and even down to the self esteem issues. Sora sees himself alone as worthless without his friends ("My Friends Are My Power") and Will feeling like Healing is the only thing he's good for since he didn't inherit any of the other natural talents most of his other siblings have as demigod children of Apollo. And the incident with Octavian probably didn't help either. They also have somewhat of a hero complex and struggle with dealing with the fact that they can't save everyone. Sora broke a major taboo in order to bring kairi back in kh3 because he didn't want her to die, and Will being a medic that had been through not 1 but 2 LITERAL WARS, one in which he lost several of his siblings and of course being a medic in general, no matter how hard you try or how good at your job, it's just a fact that you cannot save everyone that's put in your care. Also, Both Sora and Will are heavily associated with Light both literally and figuratively
And then we got Nico, who just like Riku was lost for so long in lieral and metaphorical darkness, both trapped in metaphorical labyrinths of their inner turmoil of thier feelings, their pasts, their trauma (wether it be losing someone they care about, or being abused and manipulated at the hands of a shifty adult figure for their own gain) , and feeling that they have no place of belonging. only to be brought back by the people that care about them the most and through their own self determination and strength. And also both characters associated with darkness literally and as a concept.
Riku and Nico also have a teensy bit of Angel character symbolism with Nico's last name being Angel in italian and Riku's original keyblade Way To Dawn having both a monster/demon wing and Angel wing at the hand guard and for the "teeth" of the keyblade
you could also argue Riku could technically be seen as a "Fallen Angel" type character since he was originally chosen to be a keyblade wielder by Terra but lost that right when he fell to darkness hence why the keyblade went to Sora instead, then Riku spent the next several games on a very angsty redemption arc.
And of course, Nico and Riku aren't strictly associated with darkness. Nico is a son of hades, a prince of the underworld, The Ghost King. However, he isn't all doom and gloom. He's still just a teenage boy that's secretly a giant nerd and is actually a a good kid.
Riku as well, has the power to wield both the powers of light and darkness and it was Riku's light inside his heart that sora reached out to that dark and stormy night on the beaches of destiny island that let him wield the keyblade in the first place
And don't even get me started on how Riku is 100% gay coded (don't beleive me? look up the "Riku Is Gay" video on youtube, grab a snack and enjoy. you're gonna be there a hot minute)
Both characters in both medias are opposites to each other but both also compliment and balance each other out. But not like Fire and Water. Like Light and Darkness. Not only hat, but the dynamic between Sora and Riku and between Nico and Will are kinda similar. not identical by any means, but enough to where I definitely noticed it.
If anyone else has anything to add to this, let me know! I had this lightbulb a few nights ago and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since!

So I was re-watching the show and I had a thought about the dynamic between Zeus's kids. Ignore if you've answered this before, but how do her siblings feel about Persephone?
I kinda feel like there are parallels to Sally trying to keep Percy away from Olympian drama and Demeter trying to keep Persephone away from Olympian drama, only for both to fail badly. Not to mention that Persephone probably, for a brief period, turned into the kid Zeus paid attention to most, mostly because of how Demeter protested her marriage. I do have the HC that Persephone and Hermes get along the most, due to Hermes being the sibling to visit the Underworld the most, but what do you think? Hades might be a useful ally in a rebellion.
I haven't really thought much about Persephone's dynamic with everyone else🤔
However, I will touch on my thoughts on her relationship with Demeter and Apollo (in the RRverse) because those are the ones I know right off the top of my head.
With Demeter, I don't like the helicopter parent stereotype attributed to her. Contrary to the media's beliefs, Demeter's panic is very sound considering her daughter was. ya know. kidnapped.
it was an arranged marriage! yeah yeah it's still kidnapping, and Persephone screamed for help. it's all there in the Hymn to Demeter.
because of this, Demeter and Persephone had a very loving mother-daughter relationship imo. Demeter also wasn't against Persephone marrying, btw. In the Orphic tradition, Demeter prophesizes that Persephone would marry Apollo, though that never came to pass obviously (I have a silly take on this in a bit sit tight).
Now Apollo :D the fun starts here.
SO. PERSEPHONE'S PLAYMATES WERE ATHENA AND ARTEMIS. Additionally, as mentioned previously, Demeter was like "oh yeah Persephone's gonna marry Apollo one day".
SO I PRESENT-
Apollo & Persephone are BFFs, and Demeter is the mom who sees her daughter has a boy friend and starts shipping them XD
Persephone: MOM WE'RE JUST FRIENDS
Demeter: You look so cute together!
Persephone: MOM YOU'RE SO EMBARRESSING hides face
also! there's another myth that adds on to this headcanon of mine :D
People think Demeter causes winter. She does not - she just stops the plant growth.
Apollo lets winter happen when he takes his vacations to Hyperborea :D
SO I PROPOSE-
Apollo aligned his vacations during the time Persephone is in the Underworld because fuck it if he can't hang with his BFF during this time of year might as well do his vacation instead so he has more time during the spring/summer months with her then!
BACK TO DEMETER BEING A SHIPPER-
Remember this scene in The Last Olympian?
The older lady harrumphed. "I warned you, daughter. This scoundrel Hades is no good. You could've married the god of doctors or the god of lawyers, but noooo. You had to eat the pomegranate."
Apollo is the god of healing. He also hold dominion over law, and played defense attorney for Orestes.
...DEMETER STILL SHIPS PERSEPOLLO TO THIS DAY XD
she presents it to Persephone like she has two options but they're the same person LMAO
I also wanna talk about the whole 'Demeter forbid Apollo from going near her kids' thing too! Because with the context of this^, it makes you wonder why.
...but then you realize that maybe it was because of the above she forbid him from her kids - or more specifically, she forbid him because he didn't marry Persephone XD
So she ships them. But also she's salty she didn't get her favorite nephew for a son-in-law to marry her favorite daughter and therefore banned him from her kids.
Seems counter-productive, but you do you Demeter lmao XD
(and yes, Hades would be a useful ally in a rebellion...hehehehe)

Theseus being the "dumb muscle" is so accurate, lmao. He needed help getting out of a labyrinth, a singular path that just curls in on itself. AND HIM GOING ALONG WITH PIRITHOUS' STUPID KIDNAPPING PLAN
This is gonna be fun 🤣. Thanks for the ask.
I initially said that because Superman is associated with the dumb muscles guy superhero, which doesn't represent him well at all.
And Perseus is shown in the same way in some retellings : as a guy who can't think things through, is bad with women and screws everything up, which is just as inaccurate.
Heracles is very strong but can also scheme, Achilles is more "angry muscle guy", Odysseus is mr. Schemer (except that one time he doxxed himself), etc...
Theseus ? Sorry buddy, but you have the attention span of a goldfish. He and Pirithous are like "Dumb and dumber", istg 🤣🤣🤣. Exactly for the reasons you mentioned.
The Underworld plan was so stupid !! Trying to kidnap a goddess in her husband's domain, which is the realm of the dead. And you guys are mortals. They're lucky they didn't end up in Tartarus 🤣. I guess Persephone was in a good mood. Instead, Hades gave them the funniest punishment ever. It's one of my favorite stories because it's so hilariously dumb.
Other not so smart things Theseus did (though we can explain them, they're still dumb)
Ordering his son's death after an accusation without proof. I know he was shocked after Phaedra's death, so his emotions were strong and that Aphrodite orchestrated the whole thing... but he seriously thought the guy who adamantly worships Artemis and doesn't get near from women raped his stepmother. At least the exile idea was better, because he could backtrack. But no, he had to die. He's either a terrible father and doesn't spend time with Hippolytus or has a bad memory. Tbf the second option is more likely 🤣.
And I love how, in some latin sources, Asclepius resurrects Hippolytus but at Artemis' demand. Not Theseus', even when it's technically his fault. Did he just forget about that ?
Well, at least he felt bad about it and Hippolytus had the time to forgive him in Euripides' play.
The black sails thing. Zero excuse for this one. Aegeus should have been more patient but still, Theseus was warned about his dad's decision and yet forgot. You'd think he'd try to avoid forgetting things after leaving Ariadne on the island 🤣
Anon, you're so right about the Labyrinth thing. Without Ariadne's help, he would've just been stuck. With 6 other people who counted on him. And Minos laughing.
The abandonment of Ariadne is debatable. Sometimes it's divine intervention (tbf, seeing Theseus' future probably made Dionysus/Athena too worried not to take her out of this mess). But I'd totally picture Theseus just forgetting to take her out of Naxos, because, again, memory of a goldfish. And then just confusing Phaedra for her and marrying her instead 🤣. Yes it's a funny headcannon backed out by zero source, but I'm sorry : marrying your ex's sister is weird.
Kidnapping kid Helen isn't dumb. Just veeery weird and icky. Fortunately, Castor and Pollux could pull her out of Theseus' palace when he was stuck in the Underworld.
A funny coincidence : Theseus wanted to marry a child of Zeus. Instead, it's Ariadne who did and built a family with him, while Theseus failed 🤣. Is it a coincidence, or was he jealous that his ex got someone better and deemed himself more worthy of Zeus's descendants ?
The first option is 100% the correct one, but the second would be funny (though not backed up by any source)
One I don't see mentioned : Poseidon offers him three wishes at one point. He only uses one of them... to kill his son. He didn't think about using one or two to, idk, regain the throne of Athens after it was stolen from him. Not making wishes when needed is a true proof of goldfish memory.
And then he died pushed from a cliff.
Does Theseus have qualities ? Yes. He's a decent king and he still saved the Athenians from getting eaten by a monster. My arguments show why Theseus is kinda dumb, not that he's evil or morally wrong (except the Helen one maybe).
If anything, it makes him human. Dumb people exist, dumb leaders too, even if they make great things.
(btw Jason is a good contender for second place, though. Abandoning your witch wife, who killed her brother for you, is NOT a smart move.)

!Spoilers for Chalice of the Gods!
I read Chalice of the Gods and I gotta say, I loved it so much. There's just so much I want to talk about, so spoilers for those who haven't read it yet, bc I'm about to geek out over how the characters are portrayed.
Firstly, Percy. He's a veteran from TWO different wars, and the only reason why he wants to go to New Rome is because he knows that he'll be safe there, and that he can have a family with Annabeth if they live there. That's all he wants. To be safe with those that he loves, and to live his life to the fullest. New Rome is the best place for that.
He actively says that it's a nice chance of pace when he can just sleep in his room, not having to worry about his mother getting hurt by an asshole in the middle of the night. He likes being able to spend time with his family, to not have to worry about survival. He likes to feel safe.
Which is why I love how he's shown to be so tired of running around, out on quests for the gods. It's only natural for someone to want to get away from something that's the basis of their trauma, but Percy can't get away from it. He knows that.
He's also very disgusted about how Ganymede is treated, that much is clear. He decides, from looking at how Ganymede is treated by the other gods, that he made the right choice in turning down immortality. At the time, it was for a girl who he wasn't even dating yet. In COTG, he sticks to that because he does not want to leave that same girl, but also because he doesn't see immortality as a gift, but rather a curse. He's seen how it affects the gods, who think that they are all so high and mighty. There are exceptions, sure, but you gotta admit that most of the gods are narcissists.
Zeus is the largest narcissist in the entire book. He's the reason why Ganymede is scared of eagles, which are his sacred animal. He doesn't care for how Ganymede feels. He just cares about having eye candy to oogle whenever the fuck he feels like it. I think that the brunch scene, where Percy's hiding on a pastry cart and is subjected to Zeus' story of when he was younger and all alone when his siblings were stuck inside of Kronos' stomach is a very clear sign of that. He's playing it up, trying to get pity points or something, but all he's doing is annoying everyone else.
To be honest, I love how Rick showed the Big Three. We have Zeus, an obvious airhead who is narcissistic, which fits with his whole thing of being the sky god. Poseidon is much calmer than Zeus, not narcissistic like his younger brother. He reflects the nature of the sea - often unpredictable, going from gentle waves that are perfect to swim in to towering waves meant to kill. Poseidon is more fun, more caring, yet still easily angered (I think that the main reason why he was saved from being killed in one of the books is because Poseidon clearly cares about his child, and will go bat-shit crazy if he was murdered). He cares about Percy, even if he can't show it. He always watched over his son, and will continue to do so as Percy breathes.
Hades is probably one of my favorite gods out of the Big Three (I only really hate Zeus though, so that probably explains it) because, like his brothers, he reflects his domain. Sure, he's dark and gloomy, but he's more grounded than his brothers are. He doesn't kidnap pretty mortals like Zeus and he's definitely that guy who gets consent before sleeping with someone (his relationship with Nico and Bianca's mother is too strong to be something born from anything but consent, because she is shown to actually love Hades to some degree. He's not someone who does things like have children with mortal women without their permission.)
Some people say that the book is cringey, that it's not as good as Rick's other books. Those other books are about a kid thrust into war too young, his childhood ripped away from him the moment he's born. This one is about a teenager who is dealing with the after-effects of that, trying to navigate life as normally as possible when it's insanely impossible when he's a demigod. All Percy wants is peace, to live with Annabeth and grow old with her and Grover. That's why Rick wrote it. As an aspiring author myself, I can appreciate the beauty of a story where all the main character wants is to rest from a traumatic life.
Remember that this is my opinion, and that you're all free to have your own. I'd actually love to hear what you guys think of it.

Descendants- Entry #2: The Villains
I'm going to make a quick analysis of the Villains as parents and of their character in Descendants
The Villains
Maleficent
Maleficent's character is quite solid during D1, her being based off in her counterpart of the animated movie, even when we see her in Merlin Prep we can see that counterpart of hers.
What I don't understand is why they didn't use her counterpart's past from the Maleficent movie (2014) that would've been even more gut wrenching since it would've added depth for both her versions. But, utilizing her version of the Maleficent movie wouldn't make sense for her to be a bad mother (given that we see her being like a mother to Aurora).
Evil Queen
For me, the best interpretation of the Evil Queen was Regina from UOAT, she was misunderstood and had a stronger affinity with magic (and better character development).
We don't see that much of her during D1, but the little we see about her, I interpreted her as a mother that tried to do her best, who tried to get past that 'fairest of them all' thing to be a better mother to Evie, even tho we later learn that Evie was scared of her mother.
For me, the Evil Queen was the best parent between all the villains, who was proud of her daughter because of everything she could do and become, but thought that her daughter would only gain success if she married someone with royal lineage, which made her the kind of mother who a daughter would think that she'd never make proud.
Jafar
The biggest mistake that D1 made was making him have a kid (even tho I love Jay and his fantastic) and that he could live in a house with two teenager girls (I think that everyone was weirded out by the scene where Jafar kissed Jasmine).
But other than that he would just ignore the existence of a son and would just use him to make his dirty bid.
Cruella De Vil
Cruella being one of the big bads in D1 didn't make any sense, she isn't considered a fairy tail nor had magic to make others so afraid of her (but the , só having her as one of the 'absolute rulers' of the Isle of the Lost didn't make sense.
Hades
Hades being the CEO of daddy issues is so funny to me (since his dad literally ate him), and he didn't even apologize to Mal for draining her magic.
Other than that he was a fantastic character and was really coherent with his animated version (plus the way he was portrayed in D3 was super good, because that was exactly how I would imagine Hercules' Hades in a modern setting)
Ursula
With what we know about Ursula (basing in her tentacle appearance in D2 and Uliana whole personality and actions) is that she's someone that both her daughter and her sister looked up to her, wanting to be her (Uma wanting her mother's influence and Uliana wanting her sister's power).
We cannot determine if she was a good mother to Uma, but we can determine that she had that sisterly relationship with Uliana where both of you are a pain in the other ass.
Captain Hook
Same goes with Hook, we don't know if he was a good father, but we can speculate that Harry looked up to him (since he tries to act like his father) and that he was a rather ambitious man (D4 Hook).
As a character, younger Hook having already lost his has was like "where TF is this kids parents", my man already had beef with Peter Pan (and the probability of Peter being a goddamn baby is too funny for me).
Dr. Facilier
Facilier being a good dad to Celia is cool as fuck, I, personally, can't think of him as a girl dad, but is rather good his relationship with Celia.
And his character is not consistent when we compare him with his animated version. I just hoped we saw more about him.
Drizella and Lady Tremaine
Drizella not appearing was a crime and Lady Tremaine trying to be a good grandma (D3) did make sense, but them trying to redeem her in D3 didn't make sense.
Lady Tremaine character was consistent in ROR, but in D3, it wasn't that much.
Mr. Smee
Him being a good dad made sense, we know shit about his version in Descendants

IMO KOTLC is better than PJO for this
One thing that I will ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS, love about KOTLC is that it's WAY LESS problematic than Percy Jackson.
CYNICALCLAIRVOYANTCADAVER, you yell, marching in with your shotgun, WHAT IS THIS BLASPHEMY?!!?!?!??!?!
It's true. It's not blasphemy.
Before you gun me down, hear me out and then decide.
First of all-
Percy Jackson has Holocaust Denial.
It's true. In TLT, Grover tells Percy that WWII was caused by the sons of Zeus, Poseidon and Hades fighting And...........that's it.
Do you know how terrible this is?
No, literally. WWII was one of the if not THE worst war to ever ravage the Earth. Causes and reasons of it are very complex and there is no single reason for it. Millions of people suffered unspeakable atrocities and had fates worse than death, and Jews were nearly wiped out.
Millions of people are still affected today by WWII. Jews have lost entire families and lands, and there are huge gaps in their family trees because of this. WWII will never be something to joke about, and..........
and........in the PJOverse.........surprise! Actually, it was cuz big 3 kids were whiny babies fighting about something (WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY WERE FIGHTING ABOUT?!?!?!?!) and then dangerous prophecy came so uWu we're gonna use this terrible war as a reason for why GREEK GODS CAN'T HAVE DEMIGODS ANYMORE!
Oh, did I mention that the Greek Gods are considered a reason WWII started in Percy Jackson?
DID I FUCKING MENTION THAT? OH YES I DID! AND THIS IS HORRIBLE, BECAUSE YOU KNOW WHAT?
Associating Ancient Greek Gods with modern day horrors.......and BLAMING them for it, no less........is absolutely disgusting. It affects Greek people and Hellenistic Pagans because there are idiots who will read this and believe that all of this is true. That Hades is associated with Hitler, and he's literally his son. And it was canon until Rick said it wasn't because of the backlash.
And this is for children who don't learn about the Holocaust until much later, so THIS is going to be ingrained in their brains and they're going to struggle to accept the real version. It happens.
I was just so flabbergasted when I read it. I mean, PJO is so problematic for this. It's not a joke.
You don't compare someone to Hitler. You don't compare anyone to Hitler because Hitler was an evil bastard who murdered millions of people. You don't use WWII as a plotline, ok?
And this is where I come to KOTLC.
When the gang was in the Forbidden Cities, Sophie was reminded of Hitler (go elsewhere for context).
And Shannon, right here, Shannon could've compared the Neverseen to Hitler. But she didn't. She didn't compare them, because the Neverseen are way less problematic than Hitler. Yes, they're evil, very evil, but they're not Hitler, all right? Hitler was way more problematic than these morons.
Just type in WWII PJO and search for why it's such a problem. You'll get it, I swear.
And, also, setting aside WWII and Hitler-
PJO bastardizes Greek culture and gods. It plops the gods in America for no good reason (the explanation for why is complete shit, search it up) and it makes them wildly OOC.
Zeus is portrayed as a cruel, paranoid abuser, and there's no nuance to him.
Poseidon is portrayed as a chill guy who's done nothing wrong when he's really cruel in the myths.
Ares is portrayed as a bad father when he was probably the best father in Greek Mythology.
Don't start me on the demonisation of Aphrodite and Athena as well as Artemis and how he portrays her and Hestia, and also how he gives Athena kids when she's a freakin virgin goddess, and no, brain children do not count because they're still children that she created.
But most of all, he makes the Greek gods bad parents........which was not the case in the mythology.
I mean, I am aware that Rick has the creative license to portray the Greek Gods however he wants, but what he did with them was terrible. And I have the right to criticise him.
KOTLC does not do any such thing. It does not bastardize elves or their culture. No one has an inaccurate view on elves because of KOTLC.
Yes, KOTLC has sexist and racist stereotypes, but so does PJO, only PJO has it on a larger, grander scale. Rick actively refuses to listen to his POC fans' criticism while Shannon is trying to fix what she started.
KOTLC will always be better than PJO for this.

please drop the link for the Nico finds family in Venice au when you're done pretty please 🥺
would be very interested in reading it
I regret to inform you that I, in fact, have nothing regarding this AU except for maybe a few visions that would do much better were I an artist instead of a slow-as-snail writer.
I have some reasonable explanation for the di Angelos - Maria had many siblings, and therefore Nico has many cousins who are actually still alive. One of them being the current head of the family (?) and he recognizes Nico. He has a vague sense of the whole Hades thing, so when Nico tells him the truth, he believes him and welcomes him back to the family. Nico then lives with them as his grandson.
I like to play around and imagine that it's like a big family staying together. And Nico now has an 'older brother' - who is actually his... grandnephew?? idk i probably just made that up. It'd be 10x times funnier if said grandnephew is actually aware of the truth. So they have this weird dynamic of "I'm 70 years older than you, son" - "Not in the adoption papers you are not, grandpa" LMAO. And then maybe - just maybe! - a boyfriend who is friends with said older brother/grandnephew? LOL
My plan, as of currently (which is code word for: all the prompts I can think of), is only an one-scene oneshot (you know, typical me).
Initially, I was going to merge it with another prompt I've got in store - which is about Grover coming across Nico in Italy again when he's traveling the world as the god of the wild. The plot would be quite simple, obviously: Grover lands in Venice, recognizes Nico who is just having a nice morning out with his (new) family, and then spends some time together on a bench sightseeing as they contemplate Nico's life story.
It's a one-time encounter between old friends to reminisce about your past - that sort of thing.
On the other hand, I just realized maybe five minutes ago that Reyna can fit quite well in Grover's place, as well. Mainly because:
1/ She is traveling around, too.
2/ She's close to Nico, too.
3/ She's now a Hunter of Artemis, which is a whole other branch that can connect to Bianca in case I want to go there, too.
Hazel is also a good candidate, though in her case I'd have to modify the plot a little, figuring out a good reason for her to cross the freaking Atlantic, what kind of transportation she'll have to take, their reactions upon reuniting - just. a bunch of things, really. I reckon if I'm going to pick Hazel, I would need to bring Percy too bc 1/ Frank would never let Hazel go that far alone but CJ needs at least a praetor; 2/ It allows for more interesting interactions.
But alas - I hardly have enough willpower for both Hazel and Percy, so there's that.
This is everything I have in mind. I'm sorry if you were expecting a multi-chaptered fanfic bc honestly I can't do longfic and half of the time I say I have an AU - it's like a 2-sentence prompt at best 😭😭😭

(Small blurp time!)
Thinking about the Vamp! Y/N au and how Achilles and Patroclus must have felt after a few years passed, and their son still wasn't there.
In the beginning, the first 10 or so years passed, and they're relived. Their son has probably settled down somewhere by now and is resting. Hopefully away from war or with Chiron.
Then 20 years, and he's still not here. It hurts, but they're so glad he's still alive. Maybe he's taken a lover, maybe has his own family to care for. (Hecate had only just taken him in. He's scared, he's hungry, and she is all he has now... He's misses his dad's more than ever.)
30 years, 40 years, surely their son is in his old age now, maybe he gets to pass from it, no illness or war has taken him yet. He'll be here at any time, and they will greet him with open arms, and he'll tell them about his wonderful, long-lived life, surely. (At this point, he prays his father, and Pa will never see him like this. With the eyes of a monster and fangs of a beast and a bloodlust that's goes far deeper than any hunger he's ever felt before.)
50 years. Their son should be in his 70s by now. Gods, what will he look like? Last, they remember he was barely an adult, still their little boy in their eyes. (Achilles regrets so much. You were so young when they were called for war.) Maybe you didn't get to be in Elysium? No, no, Achilles made absolutely sure you would be there with your pa. You can't be anywhere else. Hopefully, you're simply being well taken care of, loved, and well fed. (The livestock helped, and Hecate had found a way to store blood for you to drink when you couldn't hunt. It was bland and didn't fully satisfy that dark instinct in you, but it was manageable. Hecate had promised to train with you so you could burn off that need to run, to chase, to lock down on something breathing as you pierced through their skin.
Hecate helped you calm down after the spiral sent you into a panic. Neither of you brought it up again.)
80 years. 80 years, and their son is still alive (they think he should be. He's not in the underworld as fair they know, no records ever mentioned him passing) they're relief and jot has slowly whistled away to worry and longing, where is he? He should be here, with them at any moment. He'll come home to them at any moment...
100 years... Something is wrong. It's been too long he should be here by now, Hades nor Thanatos have answers, not even Lady Nyx and her other children who bring souls to Charon have answers. He's still not here.
XXX Years pass. Prince Zagreus meets someone at his mother cottage. He almost looks exactly as Achilles and Patroclus described. Except for 3 things.
His eyes, his teeth, and the fact that this man should be well over the age of 100, yet looks no older than his 20s.
What happened to him?
(Aaah, I hope you enjoy this thing. Super excited for the Father's Day fic!)
Ahhhhhh! thank you for the food!! 🙏 This is amazing. I love it so much. <3<3 I literally read this over and over before replying. Anon you did great. I love it. Gonna put my rambling thoughts under the readmore.
Gonna use Vamp!Y/N as a tag for these.
Also thank you and everyone’s else patience for the late Father’s Day fic. Real life decided to get in the way.
I definitely think Achilles and Pat were both glad that their son didn’t follow them into death. And they are just hopeful he had a good life, one filled with love. Hell, they might even have grandchildren for all they knew.
achilles would joke that he was going to get his son an ‘old man’ as payback since Y/N would occasionally call his father ‘old man’
it devastated them when they learn the truth.
Because like they thought maybe Y/N’s life wouldn’t defined by the war, that he was happy.
Also Hecate and Y/N’s relationship would be interesting because they both stuggle with emotions, not willing to let people get close. And I like to think they would actually be friends but they never talked about it.
It got to the point where they can communicate with a single glance and they both appreciate that the other didn’t push the boundaries.
and when Hecate had a moment of weakness, Y/N just helped her through it without making a big deal about it. Anyone else would had tried to use against Hecate or try to make her talk about it but Y/N never did.
i like to think Y/N and Persephone were kinda friends as well. Maybe she would occasionally ask him to move something for her or invite him for tea. Y/n didn’t take her up on the tea at first but she wore him down eventually.
he was fond of her fresh chamomile tea.
Just imagine being Zagreus lol. He literally just escaped the underworld to like check on his mom’s cottage, maybe sweep the floor or something and there was some freaky guy standing there.
and Hypnos did the greeting for Y/N, happily adding your name to list only to trail off when he looked up and saw Y/N’s eyes, and very much felt like prey. ( he didn’t how to feel about that. He kinda liked it)
Y/N is an excellent house guard bc most people were too freaked out to go near him therefore the area he watching over remain empty.
And yeah, good job. I really enjoyed this.
