Adendum to my last post

The angels (Lucifer as well tbh) are neurotypical caricatures as well. The more I think about it, this game seems to be about autistic people versus the powers that oppress us… neurotypicals.

Think about it, the angels are always aggressive, mean, vindictive, abusive, uncaring, prideful etc.

The reason behind the demon genocide is because angels think they are better as a species than devils and they had camps where they abused young demons and their main weapon is turning the devils into angels… like, they abuse kids that are different and they force neurodivergent people to act and look neurotypical.

The three main angels we see (the –el trio) are constantly bickering and complaining about eachother. They are all fighting on the same side for the same cause but none of them talk with eachoter about it and they thing that their ways is the best. It really seems that other than all their infatuation with Lucifer, none of them actually cares about the other or the people around them. This is in stark contrast to the devils which all care for, at the very least, the people inside their country. Even Leviathan who loves to talk about how high and mighty he is will protect the people he simingly loathes. Gabriel leaves one of his soldiers on enemy territory just to psychologicly torture him.

You can’t even say that “oh, it’s just sibling stuff” because the Paradise Lost characters are put in direct comperison with the angel brothers. “Playful teasing” in Paradise Lost is calling Gamigin a little baby boy. “Playful teasing” in Heaven is ripping out your brother’s eye because you got rejected.

This extands even to Lucifer which serves as one of the most interesting characters when we apply this reading to his story. I think Lucifer is a low support needs autistic person. He also has a lot of autistic traits, mostly his sensitivity to any stimuli (light, touch, sound etc), lack of empathy, disinterest in social rules, flat tone of voice, lack of outword emotions. BUT he’s also one of the two kings that doesn’t instantly pounce on MC, his kingdom has the most rules, he views everyone else as dumb and beneath him.

I think Lucifer is supposed to represent the type of autistic person whose symptoms aren’t instantly apperant and most people just call a lonely genius. Everyone admires him because he’s perfect, that’s bound to give anyone a complex, and he cannot find the type of pure love he desires because his whole family is neurotypical and he isn’t. When he finds himself being taken care of by Gamigin (another very interesting character in this narative) he’s annoyed. He was supposed to be doing a sacrifice for his Father, and now this… thing believes it deserves his presence. Lucifer acts mean towards Gamigin because he sees Gamigin as lesser, because he is more open with his feelings and affection, because he doesn’t have stupid social rules that nobody wants to follow, because he doesn’t sulk at Lucifer’s mean words. Because Gamigin respect for Lucifer is born out of admiration not fear.

This sort of simple life is refreshing and relaxing for Lucifer and at the end of the backstory we see that he chooses to remain with Gamigin and the devils. He says that he is not a devil nor is he an angel and makes Paradise Lost as a safe space for the people that don’t fit into either catagories.

Lucifer’s story reads as someone who has “normal” autism, the sort where they can pass well enough into neurotypical society, realising and accepting their neurodivergence with the help of a “weirder” autistic person, someone who you see and know. He might have very low empathy, but he can love and care about others even if he doesn’t fully see them as equal to him.

Gamigin is a high support autistic person that got throw out by other autistic people for being too “weird” and “demanding” and through being his authentic autistic self bagged himself the prince of the universe.

On another note...

Leviathan and Orias went to special ed classes where they got abused. Both of them age regress, are hypersexual (especially during their age regressed state), have fantasies about gruesomly replicating their abuse onto their abusers, have a hard time expressing emotions, distrust everyone, have states where they just become violent for simingly no reason, have flashbacks.

I think in this context Orias’ autopedophilia makes a lot of sense. He was never a kid, forced to grow up and mature when he was young and then abused by all the adults in his life. And now he just wants to be a little lad but also do the freaky. He has sexual feeling but desprately wants to cling to the idea that he is still a kid.

The story constantly gets better if you read it as neurotypicals vs neurodivergents.

I think Whb is a very autistic experience, even more than other fandoms. Let me explain.

1. They speak very ackwardly

One of the first things you’ll notice while playing whb is that it is very weirdly translated. It’s like they took the koreean text, put it into google translate and didn’t have anyone edit it. Words are not placed in the correct order, stuff is repeated constantly, everyone (especially the MC) don’t seem to grasp how normal human speech is supposed to sound. What did it for me the first time was the “he scolds me with words” which was so bad it made me take a break from the game.

But it’s voiceacted.

Someone other than the writer (I refuse to believe there’s more than one) had to see the text and read it out loud. Yeah, its in Koreean and maybe the koreean text is better, but still. When you see badly written stuff on the internet, you just assume that said person doesn’t know English, but when it’s voiceacted it wierdly feels like the text is correct or that the error is somehow intentional.

As someone with both dislexia and autism, the way whb is writen makes me feel very seen. Those weird sentences, the internal monolog that does more to confuse than to elucidate are how it feels like to read my writing. I don’t really know how speaking works and putting it in writing adds another challenge to the already difficult task. I trully believe that if only they had one editor to come and look over their stuff it would be more coherent, but it would lose the particular charm I grew fond of…

2. The MC is very clearly autistic

I’m not exactly a conosur (7 years of french and this is still my level) of Preetybusy ips, but I did play a bit of every game they released and I can say that MC being autistic just seems to be a thing they always add.

I think the writer at preetybusy is autistic because I don’t know how else to explain some of these things.

As stated before, Mc in particular gets some of the strangests lines, especially during the nsfw scenes. Does that mean that they have a speech impediment? I sure hope so. The thing is that even when the writing is ackward it still somehow feels like something MC would think.

Secondly, MC is extremely picky with who they talk to and actually engage with. We see that they like Minhyeok because he’s basicly their caretaker, but Minhyeok says that he takes MC out to hang out with other people and they always stay close to him and only him. MC seems incapable of making the type of small talk that is expected at meetings like this… almost like they’re autistic and have a funky way of expressing themselves, leading to people being offput by them. Just saying.

Thirdly, Mc has a special interest in sex. They don’t just watch porn to get off, even when the devils come out with some more niche kinks, MC is just like: “Oh, I know that one” and plays along. I don’t care how kinky you are, there’s no way you would have intimate knowledge on so many fetishes if porn didn’t do a little more than arouse you.

Fourthly, MC is weird. Just fucking deranged, I grow to love them more with every word I type out. We know very little about MC because everytime we learn something new people throw a tantrum over it, but the little with know is just so fucking tragic and funny at the same time. MC is someone that has some out of the box interests and due to that and their speech problems they get isolated and the only time they feel at home is when they get kidnapped to hell where every single character is autistic.

There’s this small scene in I think Levi’s selfie story, where MC is bracing themselves for a social interaction and being anxious about saying or doing something weird and ruining the whole event and it pierced right into my soul. Mc has autism

3. The devils have autism

This one is a lot easier. Usually when writers want to make a species that isn’t quite human they just write someone with autism. Robots, fairies, dragons, ghost, if its not human, then it’s autistic.

The demons have no concept of personal space or boundaries, they have the same weird speech patterns, they’re kink is half their personality, they have two people that they’ll do anything and everything for, they can’t lie, most can’t read social cues, they’re autistic.

And that’s why they fit in with the MC so well. Because as an autistic person, you start realising that in order to get that emotional fullfilment you desire you must stick to other’s that are like you. Not to bring Luceafarul into this, but in order to get that strong meaningful relationship where you both love eachother more than anything else on earth, the love where you feel like being away from that person is a crushing weigh, the love that makes you wish you would sacriface everything just for an hour of spending time with them… you have to do it with another autistic person. You won’t get that from neurotypicals because a relationship means something else to them. They prefere the aesthetics and you have to play this 4d chess with them in order to realise what they want and if you read it incorrectly then you risk that person breaking up with you for seemingly no reason. For them a relationship is simultaniasly mendatory but also something you’re supposed to only enjoy for a little while.

Random thought I had after playing Gamigin's H-scene. These are all bs hcs but I'll try to explain my reasoning

Gehenna as the balcans just feels right. Everyone knows everyone else in the region, they get the most invesions, Sitri had to go study abroad, what's more balcan coded than that?

Tartaros as Koreea is more on vibe. I'll be honest with you, I have never really studied the culture and mythology of any country, everything I do know is from my best friend's info dumping and that's mainly about Romanian mythology... idk, I had to put something. Koreea, why not?

Hades as the UK is my favorite one because it just fits. It's a shitty island with shitty weather and they really obsess about their king. Leviathan is so passive aggressive against everyone, of course he's british! I cannot wait for chapter 10 to come out and for Leviathan to get out of the HU (Hellish Union) because his tax dollars are going to Paradise Lost and not to him.

Abyssos as the United States because if I didn't put the US somewhere everyone would stake me and call me a vampire for good measure. Idk, they get drunk and fuck while a country close to theirs is getting bombed, that's very United States.

Paradise Lost is BeNeLux and you can take this headcanon out of my cold dead hands. All their population is made out of migrants, they're all highly educated (its the fucking healer country), they're as centrist as it gets, their ruler used to participate in genocide, they have way too many rules regarding the monarhy, this is just BeNeLux, guys!

Abaddon I think wants to wear the aesthetic of China but we've seen a total of one room in the entire country so maybe Asmodeus is just like that. And I do not give a shit about whatever Belphegor's region is called.

Short fic for Gamigin's birthday (it's his bday every day in my heart)

Gamigin was always an early bird. The sort of person to go to sleep early and wake up even earlier. He was used to slithering off from Lucifer's arms but today something was strange, the king was nowhere to be seen. He looked around the small cabin for a bit but just assumed that something important must have come up during the night and Lucifer simply didn't want to allert his brother. Gamigin chuckled, he was such a great older brother. He sometimes hoped that more people would interact with him and get to see his real personality, but most were offput by his strange identity. Gamigin never really thought about what he was, he was a devil and he was a dragon, but those weren't mutually exclusive.

He checked the calander and gasped. It was his birthday today! He completely forgot! Oh, he was going to get all his brothers together and they were going to play board games and then they'll bake a cake made from Lucifer's flowers and the morning dew and then they were going to hang out in the park and then-

Gamigin kept thinking up ways to celebrate his birthday, but when he reached the Paradise Lost hospital, the heart of the whole country, and stepped inside, he was met with silence. He went to the office and checked the table only to.have his worst fear revealed to him - all his brother's were busy. And with quite important clients with heavy injuries. But Gamigin never let sadness get the better of him. He breathed in and decided to spend his day with Jjok, the only devil that he knew would be willing to spend time with him now.

The small devil gifted Gamigin some berries and wished him a happy birthday. After all, they've known eachother since they were young.

"Aren't the rest going to celebrate with us?"

"No. They're kind of busy right now, I don't want to disturb them. But the night will come and I'll throw the coolest party ever. I made them raspberry juice, just the way brother Morax likes it. And of course I got brother Lucifer his favorite tea. Even added some sugar to it since its good for circulation. Hope he took care of his bandages today."

"Kids these days don't know how to celebrate a birthday..."

"Jjok! Don't say that! We're the same age."

The two friends continued chatting as Gamigin picked up the ingredients for the cake he was going to bake himself.

Then Gamigin's phone rang. He usually didn't spend a lot of time on his phone, but he knew how messages and calls worked. It was a message from Lucifer and Gamigin couldn't help but squee as he saw it.

Gamigin's bells jiggled louder than usual, nourishing the vegetation around, but also annoying Jjok. They both ran to Lucifer's garden, excitment plastered all over Gamigin's face. As they both enter it, Gamigin spots Lucifer at the table and waves at him.

"Brother Lucifer!"

With a lounge, Gamigin almost makes the chair fall over along with Lucifer. The king can't help the small smile creeping on his face as the young dragon curls on his lap and they start cuddling. It was a familiar sensation, one that they both enjoyed. Lucifer as the oldest being, celebrated many birthdays, though the ones spent with his brothers usually ended up with Michael and Gabriel mawling eachother if they didn't get the exact amount of attention from Lucifer as the other. But with Gamigin it was different... more innocent and sweet. Lucifer began doing what he never thought he would again, he sang Gamigin a song. His voice was rearly heard, but even when he spoke it was with a monotone expression. Singing was always off the table, but not today, not for Gamigin.

Awestruck by the sheer beauty and reverance of Lucifer's voice, Gamigin stared with a blush on his face. He understood the meaning behind it even though the words were in an ancient language foreign to the dragon. The song ended with Lucifer stroking his hair and placing a sweet kiss on his forhead.

"Happy birthday, brother."

"Thank you, Lucifer. I love you"

Gamigin hugged Lucifer with his arms wrapped around his neck and his legs around his waist. Lucifer let the young man purr in his arms a bit before responding.

"I love you too, Gamigin"

When he first found out he thought it was a joke, but it didn't take long for him to realise that, no, in fact you are more interested in his nobles than him.

He would be angry at first, but he will never direct that anger towards MC.

He'll tease his nobles more often, but not to the point it becomes mean spirited.

As long as you pay attention to him as well, he'll be alright.

After all, seeing you happy is fullfiling enough for him.

He'll be the happiest out of them all

If his master wishes to hang out with his nobles, he's more than happy to oblige.

Sometimes likes watching from a distance, like a proud father

You can ignore him all you want, just having you in the same room as him is enough to satisfy him.

Makes sure to always bring at least one of his nobles with him whenever you two meet up

He's glad that you're so greedy for attention. One man couldn't satiate you, of course, after all you're his master. You should have the whole kingdom!

I think having the MC at least being a bit pissed off about almost getting killed multiple times should be an option. Tbh, if I was in MC's shoes, I wouldn't talk with this man ever again. I get that the story is fixed with very little space for differences but I think it's not too much to ask for a few lines of dialog where MC calls Leviathan out on his crap.

You're allowed to have a character that's an asshole, but you should let me decide whether or not I call him a cunt. Leviathan is an interesting character but the narrative doesn't allow him to be anything more than 1. Tramatised child or 2. The most annoying type of tsundere possible.

I know I'm going to get backlash from Levi simps, but I ask you, wouldn't you want Leviathan's character to be more than just that one traumatic even in his life and/or very mean for no fucking reason? Don't you want MC and him to have a conversation that can't be reduced to "I can fix him"?

My favorite character is Gamigin but even I call out the decision to make him an innocent little baby boy even though he survived a genocide and is a war doctor. When I criticise something I love is because I wish it to get better, not to point at a group of people whose taste baffle me and laugh.

I'm sorry, but I just have to get this off my chest. Since the School Uniform card dropped I lost all respect for this character

I guess we could call it xenophobia if we're being cheritable and I usually really really really dislike using real world terms with real meanings to discribe fictional settings.

Again, this does make sense for Leviathan's character. He acts really agressive towards all the kings, do you really think he'll be any less harsh on their subordonates. My problem isn't necessarly that Leviathan is like this, it's that I, as a player, can't at the very least point out that "hey, maybe calling our healer an 'oddity' is a bad idea".

It's insane that Leviathan tries to kill the MC twice and they're just like "yeah, happens all the time"... like... that's abuse. Again, makes sense for Leviathan's character, but it really makes the MC feel like such a doormat of a person

Didn't finish reading all of Chapter 6 (busy with real life stuff atm) but wow the jump in quality is surprising. The translation still needs an editor and I would have liked some more meanigful dialog options (like punching Leviathan in the throat for being racist or at the very least xenophobic), but still. I am impressed. Whoever's writing this is deserves a raise and an extanded work contract

There was a new event. Tldr: MC get "the Christmas cold" which makes them really really really horny. The kings want to cure it and they think this fallen angel guy (forgot his name, sorry) has it, but he does not. Lucifer takes MC and the event ends with basicly the prolouge to Lucifer's Blow card.

Other than that there hasn't been anything new. They're adding some nightmare passes which I don't care about, but the main story is more or less the same it was when you left.
