Why does the western lolita community say stuff “isn’t real” or “doesnt exist” when it isn’t even part of the conversation.

It isn’t even combating misinformation it’s just annoying. In no other fashion will saying (insert theme) and then fashion name get you attacked like it will in this.

Just because you don’t want to class something as a substyle by your definition doesn’t mean it isn’t real and hasn’t been done, and further using more specific description words is actually helpful to people in building their wardrobe and coords and pinpointing what they really like.

Like if yall spent as much time as you spend on “correcting” people on stuff like steampunk, bittersweet, guro, or whatever the fuck else, instead on actually answering people’s questions and helping them maybe the comm wouldn’t have such a bad rep to outsiders …

Why yes I do indeed take it personally when Omega Red is left off a tier list or when he’s on a cover and then only in the actual book for one or two panels.

They really love doing that with him too. They’ll give him maybe two panels and a singular line of dialogue if he’s lucky, then they’ll slap him all over the cover.

It’s marketing, I know, but it feels very disingenuous. Like you know people care enough about this character that they’ll buy a book if he’s on the cover, like he’s enough of a draw for that, yet you don’t care enough to give him more stories or decent screen time? Okay then 🙄
