I was watching your video on chapter 1113 & when you were talking about Sanji & Bonney's I got so excited. I hadn't initially noticed all the childhood parallels between them (agree with u 100% tho), but I do think Sanji is becoming her favorite Strawhat & that they have a dynamic/growing bond that Oda seems to want us to pay attention to.

However, I was assuming that Bonney was sort of imprinting (might not be the best word) on Sanji. We all know Sanji is very kind to girls so I think Bonney has only seen his best side & I think his specific brand of kindness might be reminding her of her daddy. Kuma & Sanji also both have terrible martyr complexes so she might be getting the same vibes from them & naturally gravitating towards Sanji because of it.

For all we know Bonney will be a true orphan after the arc and since she's still so young it would make sense for her to be looking for a parental figure even if it was subconsciously. That coupled with the points you brought up of how Sanji would be able to understand her in a way maybe the others wouldn't makes me more confident in my gut feeling.

I personally believe Bonney is actually being set up to be the last member of the crew so Oda adding in this dynamic between her & Sanji would help her integrate better. Maybe Oda wants Sanji to parent & mentor a child the same way Zeff did since Sanji looks up to & desires to emulate the kind of man his "true" father is? He has such a strong desire to protect & it would be sweet to see him able to put all that energy towards one person.

I also just think it would be funny to give Sanji a surrogate baby sister/daughter given how outlandish he can be sometimes. We already have Bonney calling him a "good man" (ur like 10 girl what do YOU know 😂) so imagine Bonney being very confused as to why Sanji doesn't get bitches & her trying to be his lil wingman? Their dynamic has a lot of potential for humor & tear inducing moments me think. I'm also very much a girl dad Sanji truther so anything that can quench my thirst for it is great in my book. Give it to me Oda. I'm begging you!

Well see first of all Sanji DOES get bitches, it's just that HE'S the bitch that gets GOT and he's oblivious to it, so jot that down!

Second of all, Sanji and Bonney have a very interesting relationship at the moment. Sanji clearly wants to be a positive figure in Bonney's eyes, and wants to be the one to protect and save her - and one of the reasons is because Sanji is softer towards girls. But there's also the fact that Bonney is doing everything to find her father, and we must remember how Sanji reacted to Kinemon and Momonosuke in Punk Hazard,

Sanji's heart immediately softened at Kinemon saying he was looking for his son, and while he had an odd relationship with Momonosuke, Sanji still cared for and protected the kid. Sanji has a REAL soft spot for anyone with a father/child relationship, probably because his OWN blood father sucked, and his ACTUAL father was a man who took Sanji in despite it all.

I don't think Bonney will join the crew because I really cannot imagine Nami accepting a child on their crew for the unforeseeable future, especially in such dangerous waters, but Sanji and Bonney's parallels really break my heart.

The fact the two of them have loving mothers who gave their lives for them. They both have blood fathers they'd despise and, no doubt, have complicated feelings about their blood. They both have ACTUAL fathers who adopted them and sacrificed SO MUCH for their futures.

They seem like mirrors of each other in a lot of ways, and Bonney is also using Sanji's name specifically, so she must feel a strong safety or connection with him. Sanji is trying to help Bonney, to keep her safe, and to keep KUMA safe, because HE experienced all these turmoils and traumas as a child too. Sanji watched Zeff sacrifice so much for him, his heart would BLEED for Bonney - who is watching HER father do the exact same thing.

I'd say it's much more of a big brother/little sister relationship between them, but it's also something more than that, because Sanji is saving a kid he would truly see himself in.

RM and Jungkook Dynamic Reading

Alright, time to get to this dynamic for this weekend's readings. Hmm, not sure I remember much of this duo and how they interact, so I think this will be fun to see what I can get from these two-energy wise. I don't really think this will be that wild, but who knows, let's see.

Overall energy: There could be a lot of repressed emotions these two have, or they struggle to express their emotions with one another. But there is also a sense of comfort, or they just help one another feel better in each other's presence without saying much. One or both can have this Mothering, protective energy for each other as well.

These two seem to vibe well. I don't particularly see much communication, but they both seem to create things very well together. Wonder if they will work on a song together in the future. But they both have creative vision and look to expand their creative vision, but they may not always see eye to eye, as most people don't, but for the most part they seem to get one another.

Namjoon's energy: I see him showing an innocent side to Jungkook. Not really wanting to reveal his insecurities or fears around him. I see him not really wanting to reveal too much either. Or show any shadow aspects of himself to him or appear vulnerable around him.

He seems to be a voice of reason for Jungkook. Someone he can talk to openly. He seems like someone who would speak up and defend Jungkook as well, if need be. He seems to be a calm presence around him.

I see Namjoon doing his best to stay away from competition and drama surrounding Jungkook and kind of keeping his distance from him, not sure if he sees him as drama at times as well, or involves himself in it, but he seems to keep his distance to keep his peace.

Although, the knight of swords is usually about communication, in this deck this knight of swords gives me someone running away from someone or something, so he may run away from him at times, but I also see this card as Namjoon can be quick to defend and stand up for Jungkook as well. Not sure why he keeps needing to defend him, but okay.

I see he sees him as a little brother, and he cherishes his connection to Jungkook. He seems to have a lot of fond memories of him. He kind of may still see him as a kid and struggles to see him as an adult, so I can see the Mothering energy here with him.

Jungkook's energy: I can see Jungkook feeling inspired and feel like he can do anything around Namjoon, or he motivates him to do things, or Namjoon is a champion for him. I see him wanting to learn a lot from Namjoon. He is kind of like his student. He is open-minded and willing to learn anything Namjoon offers him. It is like he may want to emulate him.

Also, there is something with trees here, are they both advocating for more trees. I don't know, but both these cards got me thinking about trees, as a tree is represented in two of the archetype cards he got. Maybe Namjoon inspires him to care about the environment more, or to take care of the Earth more. I also see him wanting to learn about things and take up causes because of Namjoon.

I see Namjoon helps him gain a new understanding of the world, but he also helps him and inspires him to complete things. He brings a new perspective of life to him. He can gain a vast wealth of knowledge through Jungkook. He seems to feel empowered and energized and can express himself fully around Namjoon.

Jungkook seems to struggle with lack mindset and he may struggle to ask for help. He could also isolate himself from time to time, but Namjoon may help him get out of that funk. They seem to have a nice balance, or he calms him, it is like around Namjoon he feels at ease and at peace, and he may learn a bit more about tempering and moderating his thoughts and emotions.

Hmm, interesting. I liked this dynamic. This may be my favorite so far from BTS. I think I expected it to be this way. This one didn't really confuse me or affect me that much energetically, very light and smooth reading.

As much as I loved my older sister, having a popular older sibling that received 90% of the attention both at home and in school took its toll. We were only one year apart but I felt worlds away from her. She had an easy beauty about her, shining like a pearl and pulling everyone in with her natural charm. I was more of a simple rock. Pretty from some perspectives but not as bright in the sunlight. My sister was amazing in every way, and I was proud to be related to her. But a small part of me was jealous that she found love and friendships to be so easy, so simple. She never had to try to make friends or secure a date with the boys she liked. I tried to emulate her, but we were different, at our cores.

I held out hope that my longtime crush, Choi Seungcheol, would turn a blind eye to my beautiful sister and perhaps see the shadow behind her. Me. We were casual friends at best, close acquaintances at worst. Seungcheol was popular among his crowd but didn’t shine as brightly as my sister did. No one stood out quite like her. He was handsome, though, and easy to talk to. He had a way of looking through me, rather than simply looking at me. He never seemed to be in a rush to end our conversations and spent time with me at lunch or between classes when we crossed paths. It made butterflies flutter in my stomach each time we talked.

“Trade?” I knew his voice from just one simple word. I looked up from my usual spot on the corner of the bleachers overlooking the athletic field, my simple lunch on my lap in front me. Seungcheol held a bag of salty chips as he smiled gently down at me and I knew he wanted to swap them for my sweet ones. He had an insatiable sweet tooth, and I was a sucker for savory snacks.

“Sure,” I grinned, handing over my packet in exchange for his. Our fingers brushed, the shock of it zapping me hard enough to make me yank my fingers away. I laughed awkwardly, heat creeping up my neck as I tore open the bag and shoveled several chips past my lips. They scraped the roof of my mouth sharply and I winced, earning a chuckle out of Seungcheol.

“Be careful,” he spoke quietly, a crooked smile on his handsome face. I nodded, munching away and refusing to make eye contact. That moment that our hands made contact replayed in my mind over and over, distracting me so much that I didn’t notice Seungcheol trying to get my attention until his hand was shaking my shoulder.

“Huh?” I jerked my head to meet his eyes. They crinkled in amusement, his head shaking lightly.

“I said, I had something I wanted to tell you,” he said with that deep voice of his.

“Oh! Of course, of course, go ahead. I’m listening, I swear,” I smiled encouragingly. He loosened a laugh through his nose, and turned away to stare at the metal seats in front of us. The sun was warm and I noted the small beads of sweat clinging to his dark hair. He bit his bottom lip, and I could have sworn he looked nervous.

“I was just saying that…I-I wanted to ask if-if you’d be interested in going on a date…with me..?” He stuttered. My mind blanked momentarily, and I frowned in confusion.

“Huh?” I blurted once again.

“If you don’t want to, I totally get it. And if this is making you uncomfortable, tell me and I’ll shut up immediately. I just, I’ve had a crush on you for a while. You seemed so…preoccupied with other things that I thought you really weren’t interested. But lately it sort of seemed like…anyway, I like you. And I’d really like to take you out, if that’s something you’d like as well. You’re a great friend and…and I think you’re really beautiful,” he confessed with a gentle smile. I held eye contact with him for what felt like the first time since we had met and didn’t turn away in embarrassment or nerves. Seungcheol’s expression was sincere as he patiently awaited my response.

“You-you…you like me? Not my sister?” I asked. Seungcheol cocked his head to the side.

“What? What does your sister have to do with any of this?”

“She doesn’t, I suppose. It’s just, well, everyone likes her. She’s the one everyone confesses to and wants to be with. Not that I blame them, I mean, look at her. I just, I figured someone as handsome as you would prefer her,” I rambled.

“You think I’m handsome?” He smirked. I coughed awkwardly, the heat from earlier crawling its way back up my neck.

“I-that’s not the point. The point is, why me?”

“You should have a little more confidence in yourself,” Seungcheol grinned. I laughed lightly, shoving his shoulder gently. It was annoyingly firm with muscle.

“I have confidence. I just know how it is, that’s all,” I stared at my fidgeting hands, the plastic of the chips bag crinkling loudly. The sound was interrupted as Seungcheol grasped my hands with his own, turning his knees so he was facing me entirely. I looked up and tried to smooth my face into a neutral expression.

“Listen, I know your sister is the one everyone else wants. But you’re the one I want. I mean that sincerely. And if you feel the same way, or even if you would just consider trying things out with me, it would make me so happy. You are everything that I want,” he sighed softly, his round eyes looking at me intently.

I smiled, unable to school my expression any longer and nodded.

“Yes. Yes, I’d like that. To go out with you, I mean. I…” I took a deep breath, gathering every bit of bravery I had, “I like you too.”

Seungcheol beamed, his hands squeezing mine once before letting them go. I shoved them under my legs before I could embarrass myself for reaching for him again.

“Good. That’s…that’s good. Great,” he amended, and I chuckled. We smiled in silence as the afternoon sun continued to warm us from above, and I felt particularly shiny that day in a way that was different from my sister at the prospect of what was to come.

pokemon AU brainrot is real (i can't draw pokemon) i have some thoughts underneath the cut, so you can read them for fun if you'd like. what i will say over it though is that once again rabbit's gigantic sexy galaxy brain gave the pokemon ideas for murasaku, moriliu, and mayukuro. mwah thanks as always you should give your brain more credit (i will force you to)

when SV came out i remember bulldozing for a charcadet cuz i saw ceruledge and was like damn that's cool, and named him "tatsuya" (first name for fun) - then i found out he had a counterpart (armarouge) and i was like wow this is literally kagami and himuro (please see their dex entries for more info). i haven't done much in the way of writing, but just know in my head there's an entire story with the dramatic breakup where they both started off with charcadet, and then stuff happened. emulating canon, basically. alex trained them with her skeledirge.

next, takao's emolga and erika's pancham torment himuro, because why not. hot man suffering or something. himuro's popularity certainly translates over to pokemon (emolga likes midorima better, but they like to tease himuro because takao does).

last of the himuro series, i do have an entire team thought up for himueri - i love ceruledge, but froslass would be THE pokemon for himuro (like, designated partner pokemon... reasons are self-explanatory). and cinccino is THE pokemon for erika (scarf...) - they're just tormenting each other. my favorite thought about this is that froslass very often thinks about making himuro a frozen statue because of how hot he is (she doesn't, because she's trained well, but she has Thoughts). she doesn't really care about erika but grows to tolerate her, and would turn her into a statue if it makes himuro happy (i mean, it wouldn't, but froslass is vibing). on the other hand, cinccino admires himuro's skin and wonders about his skincare routine.

murasakibara and sakurai own their own bakery shop, where they cater to pokemon and humans alike. don't mind the poisonous looking poffins. amoonguss (sakurai's) just chills around the shop a lot and tries to leech off the extra goodies if there are any. alcremie (murasakibara's) helps out with the baking, and is fascinated by how well the two can manage to switch between different types of pastries and bento boxes. savory AND sweet foods offered! i call it a bakery but it's a glorified bakery because they can do a lot of different foods.

moriyama and liu wei definitely start out like how i've written them in my yosen canon lol they bond over wanting to flirt and seduce women, but it creates a whole other can of sexual tension. moriyama's delcatty is often the semi-unwilling captain of moriyama's journey to become popular with women. she does love him but barely manages to tolerate his shenanigans (unfortunately, it sometimes works - girls will come up to pet his delcatty. she enjoys being pampered and the attention, at least). escavalier for liu wei, and to quote rabbit, a knight in shining armor represents his ideals best given his antiquated demeanor. plus, it's pretty swoonworthy to be popular with the ladies. they're all gay though.

mimikyu for mayuzumi and pikachu for kuroko should be self-explanatory. kuroko's pikachu has blue eyes... because why not. i imagine that mayuzumi reads out in the park often to calm mimikyu's sadness. pikachu desperately wants mimikyu to like him. mimikyu ain't having it though. however, much to mayuzumi's disgruntlement, mimikyu does like kuroko more than pikachu. no one is deterred by the other's bitterness - in fact, it's much ammo for teasing.

okay so similar to the mikasa ones, here are all the ones for eren and my thought processes behind them!

i think men’s fashion tends to be a little less versatile than women’s fashion by a long shot, so i think there’s definitely a lot less diversity and variation between my eren’s compared to my mikasa’s! i think each of my mikasa’s have a specific “aesthetic” whereas my eren’s more so have more of a color palette/vibe to their style because i think there’s only so much you can do with men’s clothing tbh unless you’re aiming for a super curated aesthetic (e.g. cowboy eren)! so i think they’ll have a lot of overlap tbh, but this is kind of how i envision them all! and again i’ll include the moodboards i’ve made previously!

i think dol eren and mikasa both have this very “boy next door” and girl vibe to them, like i don’t wanna call them “basic” per se, but it’s a very sort of typical and like almost expected vibe you’d expect of average 24 year olds. for eren, since he works a more physically demanding job, i imagine him being a very casual person. i also just see most guys being casual in general, so wearing a lot of like solid/vintage graphic tees and then whatever random bottoms on a day to day basis if he’s not doing anything special! i imagine the only time he dresses up is when he goes out with mikasa, because she’s the only person who he cares to really impress (hence the chapter about their date), so he’d have some nicer clothes for when he has nice things to attend, but they’re only reserved for things like that!

i see him wearing the most of: t-shirts, hoodies/sweatshirts, the occasional nice button up. idk dol eren would be uniqlo if he were a brand. he is a GOOD QUALITY, LOYAL, and DEPENDABLE! when has uniqlo EVER done you wrong??? like it’s simple but it’s tried and true man, for good reason!!!

bodyguard eren is a casual guy but he’s like the emo version in my head lol. like bodyguard mikasa’s colors in my head are red/pink/white, and bodyguard eren’s are black/green/grey—he wears a lot of darker colors essentially! mikasa obviously is the more fashion forward one in this relationship, and eren is def more casual lol, he basically just wears all black or some variation of a neutral outfit bc he’s a very simple and apathetic man lol, he doesn’t really care. but similar to how eren inspires mikasa to dress more casual, mikasa would def play ken doll with eren and buy him clothes lol, so i think he’d dress up a bit more too! but i don’t think she’d ever force him to wear anything he didn’t like, i just think eren dresses casually bc it’s simple and easy, and he’s just a laxxed man.

he would be converse bc i see him begrudgingly taking his shoes off when mikasa pisses him off and he’s struggling to get them off in ample time bc they’re high tops lol

okay after model eren, i think e2l eren is the second best dressed, and this is solely because him and mikasa were together for so long LOL, she played build a boyfriend! like his style comes from her! but eventually after being together so long he does sort of develop his own sense of style but like the foundation of his style IS mikasa. so i think his style kinda emulates the same kind of vibe as hers, idk how that translates in male description. he would dress up a little more than some of the other eren’s and probably wear a bit more color too! def has that vacation-y vibe too. also e2l eren is a graphic designer, so he has that artsy boy vibe to him a bit too!

he’d be zara bc mikasa definitely introduced him to zara while they were dating lol

i feel like this one doesn’t need much explanation, we all know cowboy eren is just a hot, sexy cowboy. he’s a working man and he has to dress accordingly!!!! (and for whatever reason we’re all very oddly attracted to it) (it’s bc it’s eren) but i think for mikasa’s fancier events he would dress up, and occasionally omit the cowboy hat if need be lol

he is boot barn lol. and maybe levi’s.

model eren to me is obviously the BEST DRESSED out of all the eren’s, like this is an obvious given. he’s a model! of course he’s gonna be the most fashionable! to me, he screams pretty boy lol, so he’s going to dress and act accordingly lol. it’s one of the main things that mikasa also makes fun of him for too. so i think of his style as very tailored, very classic, but also some fun and a bit more stylized pieces! i think he would wear a little bit of everything, so he would dress super fancy some days, but then have some more casual pieces too! but then once he kind of stays in montana with his family, he’ll def kind of his model mikasa moment and have the little bit of cowboy flare to his style a bit too!

he would be all saints! or some niche expensive brand im probably too poor to afford

academic rivals eren is kinda my favorite to talk about bc he’s kinda funny LOL he’s basically frat boy adjacent and it makes me giggle. he’s literally what you’d think of when you’d think of an obnoxious little frat boy in the most stereotypical way (not in the board shorts and polos way tho omg), although he isn’t technically one! his style is definitely pretty casual, so he’d definitely wear a lot of t-shirts and flannels, but since he’s a bit well off, i think he’d wear a lot of stuff like golf wang and more expensive sneakers! i see eren as kinda basic tbh lol he’s a simple man but i think he’d have his occasional indulgences lol (and golf wang stuff is SO comfy). he’s just your tried and true college boy in my opinion!

i won’t lie i feel like this one gave me more grief than the one for mikasa did lol like i definitely had to think about it a bit more! men’s fashion is way harder to me so i had to be a lot more considerate about each eren and their vibes, but this was fun!

in terms of me info dumping or ranting, well im gonna leave my turtles to do any proper star trek takes lmao (donnie shall be my mouth piece, as i am the voyager stan)

but what i can say is star trek to me is not like a thing i ever actively watched as a kid, but something both my parents had an interest in. so i recognized ferengi and klingons before i knew what they were based on my dads graphic tees, i knew what the ships looked like cuz we had model ships. i have memories of watching star trek characters without having any idea what was going on, specifically janeway lol

and ive not finished any show, though i feel like ive seen all events in most shows? because the way star trek was intended to be watched was episodically on television, and thats how i consumed most of it.

and the other thing ill say is me and the editor (my sibling) came up with the idea based on like a silly thing i said which was simply "hey if the turtles love star trek canonically and 03 is the right age for the next gen - ds9 age, i bet they each have a different favorite, what would they be?"

we didnt have to think two seconds about mikey, mikey would love TOS its a classic it fits the vibes of mikeys classic comic book collection.

leo would love next gen because he would see picard as the best captain and want to emulate that. also think its interesting based on the fact 12 leo trys to emulate the picard parody (who is...a bad leader to emulate lmao, if 12 leo had proper star trek so many leadership issues would have been solved /j)

the real discussion came in the form of between raph and donnie whos voy and whos ds9. as im the raph and theyre the donnie, i wanted to offer up the donnie ds9 cuz thats their favorite show and voy is mine, but they said that raph would like ds9. specifically the politics and more intense war plot lines would speak to him. and that (maybe spoiler for something id wanna draw but oh well) during leos depression arc leo would like to sit and watch that with him because it would speak to him too at that time.

and as for donnie we didnt have the best reasoning for him loving voyager most, what else could we say but donnie has rizz (03 donnie is the only one who has a maybe romance in a one off episode, and i just.... yeah) but then i kind of thought about it more, and something about everyones favorite donnie episode same as it never was (and other donnie central plots) something about the crew of voyager trying like hell to get home even if they might be dead before they make it? i think it speaks to him.

but yeah! i have a lot of thoughts about it, kind of cuz of the age 03 is set in and the way that specific family unit is, that star trek speaks to them for a multitude of reasons! so im kind of making this little series thing about representation without knowing thats what youre looking for ? if that makes sense.

8. What is your favorite line/section from [insert fic]? For GoS and/or MoaH!

Oh man. Let's start with GoS, that's all out (technically). Sections in GoS, generally the final arc is some of my favorite, but the farewell with Echo still hits me every time I look back. For similar reasons, so does the credits chapter, but the one with Echo just always makes me cry. But I think probably when Link and Zelda finally kiss. There was some reworking of the story I realize doing this, but the kiss finally happening in the end section just fits them so much better.

For MoaH? God, that's hard cause there's so much favorite in what I haven't released yet. Like there this relic tutorial section in book 4 that was so much fun. And a ton of scenes to pick from with Hamuus in book 3. The relationship between Link and Syd in book 2 and how that culminates was really meaningful.

I guess from book 1, Firestorm. That chapter finally gets the main duo on the same page and it just. Mmmmm! So good.

17. What is something you recently felt proud of in your writing?

It's honestly really hard for me to pick things I'm proud of, not because I'm not proud of my work in general, but because I have a really hard time identifying what is meaningful to others and like. Specifics that I'm proud of. And storytelling, as much as it's for me telling the story, it's also about hearing how it impacts others. That's why comments really help me, because they tell me what I'm doing well. I genuinely can't identify this very easily.

With that said, I'm proud of my ability to emulate vibes while remaining my own thing. One of the comments I got most regularly on GoS and am getting now on MoaH is that they feel like games. And that's what I wanted to write! The fact that GoS & MoaH both hit that goal while being their own, and being their own independent of each other, is a huge goal of mine. They are obviously connected, but I want them to be standalone too as works, so I'm glad we're continuing to hit that.

23. What’s a story you’d love to write but haven’t even started yet?

Haha, oh, plot bunnies. I do try to avoid them. I learned my lesson with the five-way release cycle of 2017. Yikes! Problem is though, if I have an idea, I usually have to write it down to see if it survives. So we're going to play on the technicality of not having written a lot (by my standards) and go from there.

I'm really looking forward to getting back to my other three (RA, CoL, & DAD). Also looking forward to getting them imported over from Wattpad too so more folks can read them to tide me over on hiatusing htem until MoaH is done. I've had some ideas on GoS prestories about Link's parents. I have some notes on a modern AU of MoaH to use for a prompt challenge that would be fun (some notes in EH's Discord for that). There's some original legends thoughts about Lorule after the quintet is all done. But I think that's all that are generally "unstarted."

my angsty bob's burgers au that's like a character study for bob and louise (specifically how they enable each other's worst traits as linda pointed out) <3

when louise is three years old, gene is five and tina is seven linda goes to pick up gene and tina from school and gets into a car accident where all three of them are killed. bob was working at the restaurant and louise was w/ him

obviously they both take it pretty hard, since bob lost two of his kids and louise lost her mom and her siblings :( bob tries to keep it together for louise & continues running the restaurant and taking care of her while struggling with grief. he doesn't want to be like his dad and emotionally shut out louise or avoid all discussion of her dead family so he really TRIES to be there for her and vunerable and talk about her siblings and mom but it's hard and louise was already not a very social kid. they end up being pretty isolated from their community and mostly keep to themselves without having any friends or family to rely on. outcast type vibes </3 very similar to norman bates and his mom in bates motel (but less incest and murder-y). but louise is DEFINITELY a daddy's girl and has a very strong connection to him (and fear of losing him)

linda's family (and especially gayle) are obviously devastated without her and don't really talk to louise or bob anymore bcuz they're just a living reminder of what they lost. gayle didn't get along super well with louise to begin with

big bob tries to be there to support bob and louise bcuz he's been where they are, but it's hard on him too, losing two of his grandkids after he already lost his wife. and without linda there to repair their relationship and keep things friendly they eventually fall out of touch w/ each other

bob doesn't really talk to people or socialize outside of the bare minimum with his customers, and louise doesn't have her older siblings to push her outside her comfort zone or anybody to look up to and emulate other than bob so she becomes a social outcast herself & the kids at her school are scared of her and think she's weird and creepy (she def leans into the personality of s1 and s2 louise a little more with the voodoo/horror type stuff. she's got serial killer vibes tbh)

louise is creepy and generally keeps to herself but she's also just mean and pushy and rude to other people. she becomes a bit of a bully esp to the weirder kids like andy and ollie without her siblings around to morally guide her and remind her to be kind. bob definitely tries his hardest but parenting and grief is Hard especially with being a single parent and there's only so much he can do..... there's a little bit of disconnect between them. so when teachers from school call bob and tell him that louise is being kinda pushy and rude to kids on the playground he's just like "well she's louise. thats how she is" and doesn't challenge her as much as he probably should esp w/ the grief and trauma in her life, he feels like he has to go easy on her and let her get away with things she otherwise wouldn't have

teddy still eats regularly at bob's burgers of course but he doesn't exactly. make conversation with bob and without linda around he doesn't feel welcomed as a friend, he's more of just a regular customer who comes around a few times a week for a burger. definitely not bob's best friend

louise was so young when linda, gene and tina died that she doesn't remember them at all by the time she's her canon age in the show. she knows she HAD siblings and she's seen pictures of them but she can't remember what they sounded like or their personalities, sometimes it freaks her out and she imagines what they would say to her if they were still around. it's just hard for her :( and especially without her relationship with linda to show her the complexity of womanhood i think she has some more internalized misogyny. a lot of mental health issues and trips to mr frond's office (which she HATES)

because linda died after louise was already in preschool she did sew louise's ears for her before she died and they're her last keepsake from her mom, so of course she wears them all the time and has an even stronger emotional attachment to them. bob's pretty good at sewing and knitting so he fixes them up for her whenever they're torn

louise got tina's bedroom (previously their shared bedroom) all to herself after they died while bob stayed in his and linda's old bedroom. gene's bedroom becomes like a weird office/storage space that they dont really use for anything they just keep some of tina and gene's old things in there like his keyboard etc. louise's closet bedroom remains a closet lmao but louise does end up with a pretty cool bedroom when she's older

louise would eventually become friends with rudy in this au because he's like the first person to show her the kindness and empathy that her siblings would have if they'd been alive, and he's not scared of her. this au would mostly be about their developing relationship and louise trying to become a more social and less.... aggresive person??

bob could probably learn something from her too. it's so hard to lose your family and losing children is the hardest thing ever but you can't stay in that grief for the rest of your life. especially when you DO have a surviving child to take care of and love as hard as that might be sometimes (he's not neglecting her or anything but neither of them really..... moved on emotionally after the accident. bob probably doesn't drive bcuz he's scared of hurting her, and he's definitely overprotective of louise because he doesnt want to lose the only person in the world he's still alive for)

probably not gonna do anything serious with this au but it's something I do think about from time to time. also on a lighter note these messages w/ @goldendoodlerlockerlove

ARC Review: Say You'll Be Mine by Naina Kumar

4/5. Releases 1/16/24.

Vibes: fake dating but with good reasons, heroes with daddy issues, and justice against "that guy who's soooo nice and great and he won't make a move but I love him" guy

After finding out her longtime friend and crush (well, maybe more than a crush) Seth is engaged, Meghna decides to move on. I mean, she's going to be his best man--it's time. Although she doesn't hit it off with the grumpy Karthik, she is willing to take advantage when he agrees to be her fake fiance. She looks fully moved on from Seth, and he gets to shake his mom off his back. There isn't any drawback, right? Right?

This is a light-but-not-too-light contemporary, with a winning main couple and an emotional authenticity that was both engaging and... gentle? For want of a better word? Will please both the fake dating lovers and the haters (me).

Quick Takes:

--I have a real soft spot for a book where the heroine realizes that the guy she thought was THE shit, who never really made the kind of move she wanted but took advantage of her attention (keeping her on the hook, essentially) is... not the shit. This is one of those books, and it has the added nuance of Seth having zero real respect for Meghna's background and culture. It's not just that he doesn't really know her--it's that he doesn't even want to make the effort to get to know her on the most basic level.

That said, Meghna never comes off as pathetic during the story, which is honestly a credit to the way Naina Kumar writes and handles the story. She's vulnerable, yes. She's in denial, yes. But she's not pitiful. (This is also because Meghna is kind of a classic endearing romcom heroine--Say You'll Be Mine does read an actual romcom, which definitely can't be said of a lot of romcom books at the moment.)

--Karthik is a lot pricklier... and I imagine that some people may find that frustrating. But two things to consider: firstly, his prickliness makes it more satisfying when he gradually melts with Meghna and becomes emotionally connected to her. Secondly, his reasons ring true. At least, for me they do.

Karthik fundamentally does not want to emulate his parents' troubled marriage. He'd rather hold himself at arm's length, staying closed off to love, than risk recreating what they have (we love to read about men with daddy issues). As a someone from a ~broken home~ he really came off as authentic and relatable to me. He's not not overly angsty, he's really not an asshole. But he has walls, and they're deeply rooted in his childhood.

And I mean--again, I think it's incredibly important for that block to be there. This is overall a sweet, soft book, but Karthik's inner turmoil (and of course Meghna's relationship or lack there of with Seth) keeps it from being without stakes.

Ultimately, I want to stress--this is a really sweet romance. You feel that sense of knowing and comfort slowly rise for these two, until the extent to which they value each other is really clear. It's very comforting and kind of cozy, which works for this time of year especially.

The Sex:

The sex is sorta quiet here--just one more euphemistic scene towards the end, preceded by another kinda low heat over the pants action moment. (Which I did like a lot.) However, it does remain quite romantic, if not super steamy.

I really enjoyed this gentle yet entertaining romcom, and I especially liked Naina's writing style. She has a strong voice, and I definitely want to see more from her.

/2 and to be aware that you'll have some people jumping down your throat trying to explain away terrible writing choices with 'uwu poor steve has sooo much trauma uwu, you don't understand him' and proceed to write a giant block of meta full of hcs and personal interpretations and projection while trampling over your (a real, flesh and blood human being's) very valid feelings of frustration with the way the characters are written in this tv series, just to 'protect'(???) steve (fictional character!). also hilariously forgetting (or just ignoring) that the character of danny also has metric tons of trauma and none of it gets addressed. there's a pretty good reason why s6-10 are seen as 'character assassination' of danny and are the reason some authors left the fandom. sure, there's some nice mcdano moments! and storylines! but it's a quality rollercoaster there are some things that happen that i lovelovelove and others that make me want to hit my head on my desk so hard (the 'charlie will hate you' thing, everyone being ungrateful/dismissive, and in s8, and in s9 and in s10). the producers+writers for some reason cannot make them feel as close as they were in the first 5 seasons and that's just so sad man. they had a great thing going and they dropped the ball so hard. I really recommend rewatching the the first seasons right after ending the series to see the contrast, not just in writing choices but how the actors themselves are trying their best and still seem to be so -done- with everything which is absolutely tied to those links in my first ask; plus alex wanting to be done by s5 and leave, and scott also being done by s5, but staying (even if in lesser capacity, check his imdb: starting from s6 onward he disappears for 4-6 episodes (for his fam and his acting career))

i reiterate, i just writing this to say it valid to feel happy/glad/frustrated/angry/have negative feelings about the show, and nobody should make you feel like they are not or try to explain away questionable stuff like it's your fault you don't 'get it' (while making things up and not taking into account the unfortunate happening in behind the scenes).

About the stuff you mentioned with Danny and 'character assissination' I have to agree 100%

as much as I've started to like s7 the longer I keep watching the more the cracks start to show again,

with both Danny and steve being uncharacteristically nasty at times again towards each other and also this overall feeling that they're just not quite as close as they used to be?

Don't get me wrong it's still miles better than s5 and don't even get me started on s6

But with everything you just told me, that was apparently going on behind the scenes, I guess it's no wonder?

Still I keep my fingers crossed that once I've made it to the end it might not be quite as bad as I've heard?

Maybe it's just false hope because s7 has done a pretty good job emulating the vibe of the earlier seasons so far

Right now I'm at the episode where max is leaving and I have to say it genuinely made me teary eyed to see him go and knowing that he won't be the only character this season to leave for good doesn't make it very easier to keep going,

even if I really dig this more light hearted and at times somber vibe this season.

I also really liked how everyone got a very heartfelt speech about who they are to max and I felt they did a very good job keeping it equal

What do you imagine weddings in the nine houses are like? Do you think they still wear white or abide by any more traditional pre-resurrection customs? Since Jod drew so much inspiration from both Rome and Catholicism (Catholic wedding doctrine is based on the ideas of free will marriage that were tradition in ancient Rome) I think it's likely but there has to be some insane necromancy element too. Maybe a riff on the eucharist from wedding masses? Also, how do you think it varies from house to house? You always have really fun and creative ideas about the world, so I thought I'd ask your opinion about one of my favorite random headcanons to think about. (P.S. I hope the eras concert was fun!!)

Oh gosh, first of all, that is incredibly flattering lol. Second... I actually hadn't given this just a ton of thought before getting this, so it's been fun to thing about!

I think they probably resemble Christian/Catholic wedding ceremonies enough to be recognizable as such, but I would love it if they were like, the funhouse mirror version of that. I LOVE the idea of the Eucharist being involved prominently, but maybe even at a more symbolic level? Like we could obviously tie that to the whole "consume the flesh" thing, but I just feel like Tamsyn could come up with a really cool play on that concept that would never even occur to me lol.

I kind of doubt they wear white; I don't really have a good rationale for this other than vibes. Just thinking about how we see a decent range of aesthetics across the clothing of the Houses, especially in color, it would track that they have differing customs for wedding/ceremonial attire as well. Like, I can't really imagine that the Sixth whole gray librarian thing translates into formalwear the same way that say, the Third does (although using the Third as an example feels like cheating, because I suspect they go over the top for EVERYTHING so no one was gonna be doing it like them anyway lmao).

As an aside, I'm pausing for a moment to push one of my most indulgent AtN bingo card items, which is Harrow wearing white. I know the Lyctor robes are like, iridescent white, but I mean purely white. With Alecto getting so much imagery around light, and how Harrow describes her in the Tomb as wearing wearing "a white shift", it could be a cool parallel. Oh also, now that I think about it, the whole thing about Harrow being a nun, i.e., "betrothed to the Locked Tomb". Plus like, there's something there about the way it would be close to but not exactly like the iridescent white of the Lyctor robes, like, John was trying to emulate that and could only achieve a flashy approximation. And something something Harrow setting aside the black of the Ninth something mumble. But mostly, I'm heart eyes over more wedding/marriage imagery for her and Gideon 🥰 (Idk what to make of that in contrast to the white that the Tower Princes wear, but it's entirely hypothetical at this point, which means that I can ignore anything that doesn't fit my agenda.)

On my last reread, one of the little details that I was actually really taken by was that Magnus is noted to be wearing a wedding ring. So that tradition still stands, at least for the Fifth, and I absolutely melted over it.

I would kind of assume the vibe of a wedding ceremony varies from House to House, maybe along the lines of what we know about the cultures of each and what they tend to emphasize. If that's the case, I would LOVE to see a Seventh wedding; I bet it's gorgeous and deliciously fucked up. I'm really really curious about the wedding that Tamsyn has mentioned being in AtN, especially because she mentioned party dresses, and you know how I love putting blorbos in outfits. I suspect that her saying that is a bit of a red herring... Like if I'm giving my best guess, there WILL be a wedding (an actual one, not just a symbolic Lyctorhood whatever wedding) BUT I don't it will be the focus. I could see it being used really neatly as backdrop for some heisty business, more of a plot device to get people all in one place or as a distraction. I'm not getting my hopes up to see the actual ceremony, I guess is what I'm saying. The real action might be happening in the next room over.

(and P.S. THANK YOU! It was AMAZING and honestly, probably the best night of my life and also I cried for basically the entire thing, I still cannot believe I was lucky enough to be there. I got to go with my best friends, who live quite far away from me and I hadn't seen since January, which made it that much more fun. We went to the second night, and we mostly stayed off our phones/away from any social media so that we could go in and be completely surprised without having seen anything about it, and I'm so glad we did! I wouldn't have held out if we were going to a different date lol.)

Rpg Anon: Strap in, mod. Cuz I gotta give my two cents on you being interested in Disgaea now.

First of all, I don't anything about what happens in disgaea 6 or 7. Kinda didn't care anymore after the older characters didn't feel like work was done to make their moves modern anymore.

Ok now, if you're that interested just of the hinazumi bit, you can ignore Disgaea 1 and 3. I didn't play them either but they didn't seem too interesting to me. Just know Laharl, Etna, and Flonne are old characters from the first game.

I recommend playing Disgaea 2, 4, and 5. Mostly cuz I biased like these ones. You can play 2 on a psp emulator like I did. 4 is the first game I saw and how I got into the series tho and 5 was pretty fun to watch and had a great story.

Before I gush over the hinazumi-ish details of Adell and Rozalin, important tips for Disgaea 2 tho. 1. DO NOT kill your friends. Friendly fire is always on and it's always a bad idea to accidentally do this in all the games but 2 actually punishes you HARD if you do it way too much. *shivers in fear remembering the Worse Ending* 2. Adell hits REALLY hard if the opponent is stronger than him. Prepare yourself to see him level up like crazy for being a level 100 fighting level 500's. 3. Adell's cowardly scaredycat little brother is the best unit in the game bar none. His aoe attack where desperately flails all around himself does more damage than anything in this game.

Now for the stupid gushiness. Spoilers tho. Adell and Rozalin start off really not wanting to be around each other. They really don't like having to drag or be dragged everywhere. Character Development happens tho and by the end of the game, well, Adell fucking kisses the insanity out of her. 👍. Funny as the credits show her trying to shoot him for doing that. Here comes the reall Hinazumi levels of tsundere lovey dovey shit. Come Disgaea 4, you can recruit them separately as dlc. The thing is, well, they both seem to have secret motives for why they want the job and need the money when you first try to recruit. Turns out they secretly wanted to buy something valuable for the other. (Adell wanted to buy a fancy necklace for Rozalin and Rozalin wanted to buy a new fancy house for Adell) How sweet. However, whoever you recruited first suddenly arrives after the second is beaten and admits their reasons and they feel moved. Cue the lovey dovey atmosphere of "You did all of this for me?" "You were doing all of this for me, too?" "I... um... uh..." *long silence and then the atmosphere burst into colorful hearts and rainbows as they're both lost in their own world, staring at each other in silence* What happens next can only be described as:

Ibuki coming out of nowhere screaming out "OH. MAH. GAWD. These two. Are. MARRIED!!!"

(Cue the tsundere.)

Hinazumi finally realizing everyone was watching: WE'RE NOT MARRIED!!!

Hajime: yeah um um um she's just a freeloader living together with me under the same house!

Mahiru: Hajime, you idiot! You're only giving them more of the wrong idea! Also who are you calling a freeloader?!

Ibuki: You two are definitely married!

Fuyuhiko: Okay okay! That's enough. You're both fucking hired. Work together as husband and wife to make money for the business, you two.

Hinazumi: We're not married!

(This was fun to go thru again.)

From then on, it gets more and more intimate and hilarious. Honestly, I wish I could gush over it more but I don't have time.

Yeonjun and Taehyun's Dynamic Reading

So, last week's reading made me interested in doing this duo to see what I can get for them energetically. I say they have a pretty quiet bond. I was interested in watching some videos of these two but decided to wait after this reading, so I don't have a bias. Although, one of my faves. I don't always pay attention to their dynamics. I focus more on their performances and music, than anything else, so interested to see what I get here.

Overall energy: Looks this is going how I was expecting it to go. So, they start with the House 2, both seem to be about money, materialism and physical security. I get this energy from these two, so they relate in that sense. Money, success and accolades is what these two want and probably how they connect their self-worth to.

We also got Air energy here, so both are pretty matter of fact and intellectual with one another. They like to share ideas with one another. They are both very social creatures, and have an extroverted mindset, so I say they connect, due to relatability, but I don't really see a close bond here. It seems pretty cordial. I mean one of the keywords on the card is detached, so their energy does give me that vibe. They are cool. I don't see anything messy here. It is just they are in the same group, so they get along due to that. But I see these two respecting each other a lot and their ideas.

Yeonjun's energy: He starts with the God card and the Poet, dude be feeling himself, good for him lol No but, it seems he knows his strength and power, with the god card coming up, there is a sense of feeling superior to Taehyun or having more authority, now yes, they do have a hierarchy system, but this is the first time, since these reading I got this, so it plays a big role in this bond. But I can also see him trying to appear powerful to him. I don't see him wanting to show any weakness or flaws around him. So, he might put pressure on himself to appear flawless in front of him.

Now, with the Poet, Yeonjun seems to be very good with words and a very inspiring person, so he may share these insights with Tae and give him a lot of loving words of advice. It is like he wants to be a moral authority for him. I don't see this as anything negative. I just think he may want to be a god model figure for him. Hmm, wonder if I get this same energy with the other younger members.

Now, with this Hermit card, he stands on his own and does his own things. He seems to like to figure things out on his own and be in his own world. But I do feel he does know himself very well and Tae may see that as well. Now, with the Chariot he is bold and courageous and willing to take chances and face challenges, not sure how this connects to the bond, but it does show Yeonjun kind of does his own thing. Maybe Tae respects all these qualities in him.

But I do see something about loss and disappointment, so he may show signs of sadness around Tae or he senses it. Or I feel like when he is feeling down, he needs his alone time and maybe that is what this is showing, maybe Tae is aware of that, like he may not like to show when he is down but doesn't really have a good way to hide it.

I see Yeonjun as someone goal oriented, a grinder, someone who is consistently moving towards his goals and pushing to reach new heights in his career. I feel Tae respects that and applauds his persistence and may want to emulate that. I also see him being pretty loyal and supportive as a friend when need be. He doesn't seem like a flakey friend.

Taehyun's energy: We start with the storyteller and the fool card, so he probably enjoys telling him stories that make him laugh or just sharing of the wall stories. I feel Tae can get pretty vulnerable around him. I don't think he can hide himself around him. I do see him trying his best to make Yeonjun laugh, not sure why I am getting that.

I see him having good energy around him. I think Tae just wants to lift his spirits and give him good energy. I feel he feels comfortable and at home around Yeonjun. I just see them having a lot of fun together, maybe having drinks every so often. It just seems like a fun time when they are together, so although they don't know each other on a deep level, that is okay, they seem to enjoy each other's company, so their bond seems pretty calm, fun and cool.

He does seem to feel conflicted when it comes to Yeonjun. He seems unsure of himself and not really able to make a decision. I had to clarify that and got the 3 of Cups, so he may be caught in between him and someone else. I still don't get that but moving on. I think from Tae's perspective they have a nice give and take balance. He helps him out and Yeonjun helps him out. I say their love language would be acts of service. They support one another in their own way. They are there to offer each other support in tangible ways and can count on each other as well.

Once again, a nice calm bond. I liked this energy too. I am kind of happy I went with these bonds this weekend. All were pretty clear cut, not as draining and fun to look into. Also, pretty quick as well.

What would the Gaang’s Daemons be?

This is based off of His Dark Materials and what each of the Gaang’s daemons would be. This was a surprisingly difficult task because I obsessed over it for like a week.

Aang: Feathertail Glider

Aang’s daemon wouldn’t settle until the very end of the series when he has completed his task to defeat Ozai and stands by his morals. As such, shortly after Aang’s daemon would settle. Before this I could see her taking forms like birds or lemurs so she could fly around. I can’t think of a suitable name but something sweet like Peach or something to do with air as a whole.

But I think that she would settle as a feathertail glider because these little guys are the extroverts who hate confrontation. They tend to be quite energetic yet value others over themselves most of the time. Also the big eyes and ears combined with their tiny size reminds me of Aang. Also they can fly. The idea of another little flying thing following Aang around is adorable. Strangers would be so confused on whether Momo or the glider is Aang’s daemon. Or even Appa?? Like who knows. Not them.

Katara: Snow Goose

Despite others opinions that Katara’s daemon would settle after her mother died, I don’t think that he would. I think we would have to wait until the Southern Raiders episode as the experience of Katara not taking revenge is a pivotal one for her character. Before then I think her daemon would mainly assume the form of a sea otter or a penguin. I actually considered a sea otter as her settled form but something felt off about it. I like the traditional Inuit name Aput for Katara’s daemon as it means “snow”. It feels right to me.

As for why I chose a Snow Goose. The key characteristic surrounding this form are loyalty, dedication, ambition, outspokenness, being a team player, and a more extroverted personality. Katara shows great ambition and her ability to be outspoken when she faces the Northern Water Tribes sexist ideas and convinces Pakku to teach her. Other secondary traits that fit Katara to this form are her protective nature, her desire to help others, her stubbornness, and her ability to empathise with others. The fact that this creature lives in the Artic also shows her pride for her heritage.

Sokka: Common Raven

Sokka’s daemon certainly does not settle in the form he desires. What he really wants is to emulate his hero, his dad, with a wolf daemon. So in Season 1 we see his daemon take the form of a wolf often. However, when he fights as the planner or the inventor (when he works best) his daemon could take another form as a foreshadowing. His daemon would probably settle in the first few episodes of Season 2 as the loss of Yue settles in. I like the name Ila for Sokka’s daemon. It means “friend” or “companion” which I think Sokka’s daemon would mainly be for him.

Whilst Sokka could certainly fit into a wolf form, I think that a raven suits him better. Ravens have a strong sense of social hierarchy which suits Sokka’s desire to act as a leader for the Gaang. They are also opportunistic, adaptable, innovative, expressive, planners, bold, occasionally suspicious, affectionate, and witty. Sokka’s role in the group ranges from the meat and sarcasm guy to the planner so a versatile form was a must for me. The symmetry between Katara and Sokka both settling is birds is just a nice circle.

Toph: Wolverine

Toph’s daemon would either settle straight after she left her parents or not at all in the series. There is no in-between. The only two options for me. Whilst she was with her parents her daemon would often be a mole as a small tribute to the badger-moles who taught her Earth bending. As the Blind Bandit, he would take the form of something ridiculously large for the lols, like a rhino. Other fun forms for Toph would be a bat or a badger. I like the name Bao for him. It means “treasure” and I think Toph’s parents would name a daemon to fit their family vibe.

I had a lot of trouble picking a daemon for Toph. Mainly because all the animals I thought of were not aggressive and avoided conflict. But do you know what animal doesn’t avoid conflict. A wolverine! Traits connected to this form are independence, aggression, a hardy attitude, confidence, loyalty (though they are very socially selective with their friends), and a slightly playful personality. I think that this fits Toph’s no nonsense/ let’s kick some ass whilst playfully insulting my friends attitude.

Zuko: Yellow-Throated Marten

I think that Zuko’s daemon wouldn’t settle for ages. However, after his banishment he and Akira (seems like a good name for her) faked a settle as a lion? Or a bird of prey? Something that Ozai would approve of. Only Iroh knows that Zuko hadn’t settled as he walked in on Akira trying to comfort Zuko in a different form. Aang found out as Akira turned into a beetle during the Blue Spirit episode whilst Zhao only became suspicious. Akira turned into a seal so Zuko could break into the Northern Water Tribe.

In season two, Akira turned into a type of cat to travel incognito in the Earth Kingdom. So in the abandoned town the rest of the Gaang found out that Akira was unsettled.

In early season three, Akira presented as a snake, a python of sorts, within the palace. But her eventual settlement happened when Zuko was on his Airship going to find the Gaang. It was very much a bittersweet moment as Zuko finally felt fully confident in his choice but he was also leaving the last remains of his childhood behind.

But I think if you rewrote the series to have daemons Zuko would probably get an earlier redemption arc as he has a physical manifestation of his soul to talk to in order to work out his feelings. He may have even joined the Gaang at Ba Sing Se.

The reason for my choice of a Yellow-Throated Marten is their guts. Like these small things actively hunt deer and their favourite move is to grab their prey by the neck and flipping them onto the ground. That feels very Zuko. They tend to keep in groups of two or three which remind me of Zuko and Iroh. They have a angry outside but a slightly awkward and kinda sweet inside. Like Zuko. Plus the yellow on them makes me think of Zuko’s eyes. Zuko and Akira cuddles pleases me because she is a fluffy-ish animal.

Suki: Fennec Fox

She would be the only member of the Gaang who we would meet after her daemon settled because Suki is a fairly flat character in terms of her character arc. She already is confident in her role in life and her morals. She doesn’t have to overcome any significant challenges which could cause a settlement to be delayed. We probably wouldn’t learn her daemons name until season 3 when she stays in the show for more than a episode at a time. I’m thinking something common like Liu or Huang.

Fennec Fox Daemons tend to be social, hard-working individuals who are very tough. They also tend to have a good sense of humour and have a higher level of tact than other canine based daemons. These are traits that I see in Suki. Also the balance of Sokka who longs for a canine daemon meeting Suki who has a smaller canine daemon who then beats respect women and all daemon types equally into him. It adds to the plot. Trust me.

How would the Gravity Falls characters cope in TWST?

Oooh this is actually such an interesting ask!!! I love comparing how different characters would cope in a different fandom world. Let’s get on into it!

I wasn’t sure which ones you wanted me to do so I did the following characters: Dipper, Mabel, Soos, Wendy, Gideon, and Pacifica. Let me know if you’d like a specific character not listed!

Dipper

If I were to categorize Dipper into a Twisted Wonderland dorm, I would have to put him into Diasomnia. He’s shown to emulate a lot of ideals that Diasomnia values such as intelligence, honor, and magic most of all. I also put him in there with how much he cares for his family (Dia is very big on familial love and care for one another).

Dipper would absolutely be someone who would investigate the true reasons behind all the overblots. He’d be the first to suspect something fishy after Azul’s OB’ (no pun intended) and continue to work to find the reason why such a “rare” event keeps happening at Night Raven.

Both the Pines twins would live in Pyroxene and spend summers in Briar Valley— they’d love the mysteries hidden throughout the Valley for sure.

He’d also be all over Ramshackle, interviewing and investigating the ghosts, why Mickey is there, and overall examining the decrepit dorm from the inside-out.

That also would make him become good friends with Malleus… sort of? Dipper would definitely be creeped out by him at first but ultimately grow a kinship with Malleus.

He would either make his own mystery club or join Malleus’ gargoyle enthusiast club (to get to know more paranormal/folklore stuff).

Dipper is on-par with reputation as Ace and Deuce are, he’s known for trouble following him or him causing trouble on purpose.

Mabel

For Mabel, I personally think she’d be in Diasomnia as well. Her interest in the paranormal and magic as well as her deep-rooted loyalty and bond with their family makes her an excellent member of Diasomnia.

Mabel would be right by Dipper’s side investigating the Overblots, but she’d do it her own fun way. Making friends with all the Twst cast, befriending the Heartslabyul hedgehogs and flamingoes, leaving the school grounds unnoticed to just explore the woods, etc…

Mabel gives me the vibes that she’d join the Light Music club. She’s besties with all three of them! Lilia and Mabel both play their pvp games with Idia together, her and Cater chatter about anything pop culture related over tea, and she would help Kalim with his parties (under the supervision of Jamil).

I can see Mabel and Dipper both landing a job in the Mostro Lounge to pay off a debt because they learned from their Grunkle how to make counterfeit money and Azul caught them in the act.

Mabel often visits Heartslabyul just to hang out with the hedgehogs and have tea, she’s an honorary Heartslabyul member.

Soos

I am putting Soos in Pomefiore. He is someone who works for his goals and seeks to improve himself and his relationships with others. In addition, he is always willing to help others improve themselves as well, which lands him into the dorm modeled after the hard work of the Fairest Queen.

Like Dipper and Mabel, Soos would be dragged along investigating each overblot, acting as a third person to interview students, check out each area where a suspected (or known) overblot has happened.

Soos would also land a job in the Mostro Lounge, but he actually genuinely enjoys chilling there and helping out the guests. He and Azul get along so well.

DJs for Kalim’s parties and the Mostro Lounge. He’s teaching Idia how to DJ!

He and Ortho get along so well, he talks to him often when visiting Ignihyde for Idia.

Wendy

Wendy is difficult to throw into a dorm, but I would say she’d fit in best with Savanaclaw. Savanaclaw students are ones that value freedom and individuality over rules and societal expectations. They are often categorized as rebellious and known to do things that they would prefer to do/believe would be interesting or beneficial to them.

The type to skip class when she just doesn’t feel like it, she’d make good friends with Floyd. Grunkle Stan has to bribe her to attend her classes.

A lot of the underclassmen look up to her and think she’s super cool. She hangs out with students like Epel and Deuce a lot, those two admire her so much.

She attends Kalim’s parties often.

On weekends, Wendy often visits Sage Island’s town, looking through the markets.

Gideon

Gideon is most definitely an Octavinelle student. He’s materialistic and ready to gain the upper-hand when it comes to his own needs and wants. He will help you out if you serve a purpose to him and/or you are able to give him something in return.

Works in the Mostro Lounge as well, trying to upstage Azul’s business deals with his “psychic readings”.

After some stunt he pulls that makes the lounge lose customers, he’s fired and unable to work under Azul anymore. He still tries to do his psychic business in the lounge but to no avail. He is Octavinelle enemy #1 and Jade + Floyd are always on the lookout for him trying to scam Azul’s customers.

He’s quite a successful potions student, and uses these potions for his own advantage most of the time.

Pacifica

I’m putting Pacifica into Pomefiore, because of her goals of improving herself and learning to think for herself and be someone other than what her family has instilled in her.

Initially she is what everyone at Night Raven thinks is a stereotypical Pomefiore student: conceited, entitled, and self-absorbed, but she grows and turns out to be more tolerant and less like her original self.

Pacifica often visits Heartslabyul for tea parties and unbirthdays.

She also heads to Diasomnia every once in a while to admire the architecture of the castle.
