Jason should be a knife fighter. If he doesn’t have guns he should have knives and if he doesn’t have knives he’ll improvise one. That should be his thing- he is never ever without some kind of a weapon. The pantsless boy sidekick now a man covered head to toe in leather and armor.

Dick and Tim use stick-based weapons because of their dedication to non-lethality. Jason, even when he’s trying to not kill anymore, should use something sharpened. It’s a force of habit, a result of his training away from Bruce, a reflection of the fact that he doesn’t truly believe in Batman’s code.

He has not changed his beliefs so he should not actually change his weaponry from what he started with- the gun and knife (and bombs!). He is holding back, and so his weaponry should reflect that. He is limiting himself, not entirely changed.

I’ve started doing my Little Water Workouts (LWWs) for my FND and honestly the demographic is basically what I expected at 12:30 pm on weekday adult swims: 75 year old white women doing impressive laps and 50 year old Japanese men constantly bumping into lane lines.
