My first time at this grocery store
I go to the regular aisle and the cheapest tapioca flour is 4.19
I go to the Asian aisle for something different and I find another tapioca flour! It’s 1.99 😭
#idk why flour is so pricey 😭😭#like the Asian tapioca flour was on the bottom shelf where it was a no man’s land#not even part of the regular flour baking section#ty random dragonfly brand for saving me in this economy#sighs#I’m making Brazilian cheese bread#or rather#pão de queijo#this goes to my online friend beebs who helped me pronounce this forever ago lol#I miss them <3#bella rambles

dancing on the seaside
aka: mandando o passinho na beira do mar
lavinho x manager gn!reader
synopsis: the fc barcha team is invited to a beach day by lavinho, and you, the team's manager, is his special guest
tags: crack, beach episode, lavinho brazillian icon, fc barcha cast, fluff, male reader in mind
warnings: words in portuguese (w translation), mature language, kinda long fic
a/n: shout out to all of my brazillian mates! (you can send requests in pt-br if you want :D) + requests are open!
masterlist.
Managing FC Barcha’s business and marketing was a hard task, surely, but a satisfying one. You were once a player, but now took care of the team, and Lavinho recognised your job well.
You became closer to him, and his care-free personality revealed a lot of his mind. It was no surprise to you that, one day, he invited – almost dragged – the entire team to a beach day. While you were not a player, you were his special guest.
For weeks he searched for the right place, somewhere they could have fun, relax and, most importantly, have a barbecue. You helped him find and rent a BBQ spot, as he was quite lost on the process, being a foreigner. He promised a thank-you, a special one for you, but only on the beach.
The place itself was a beautiful stretch of dark sand that gave face to the japanese sea’s horizon, few islands and boats on the way. Behind laid a path of grass that was separated from the beach by a wooden fence. Some trees sprouted and leaned to the ocean, letting pink and yellow petals fall on the shore. A small, but long gazebo covered the grill and some picnic tables.
The photos taken from the rent place managed to convince majority of the team to show up, while Otoya convinced the last two or three people. Everyone was going, and you were the only person that knew how happy this made Lavinho.
When the day came, everyone was excited, but no one could expect how excited Lavinho was. The days inside the Blue Lock complex made him hunger for the sun, the sea and the wind. His lack of a shirt, the palm-tree pattern of his shorts and the amount of junk he brought showed it.
There were beach umbrellas, weird types of meats and other food for the barbecue, a sound box playing loud funk, and many beach towels made of a very fine fabric.
When everyone questioned his over-preparation, he and the spanish players were shocked to discover that japanese beaches were quiet and organized. And to you, he described the loud and colorful vibes of the south american seaside, promising to take you to Rio de Janeiro one day.
Everything was fantastic. Bachira managed to build a huge sand castle, while the rest of the team tried to pillage it with water guns. Otoya disappeared for half an hour, and came back after flirting with a couple of girls around.
Lavinho taught you how to grill steaks in brazilian style – or, better describing it, he gave some instructions and let you battle against the griller. And to his surprise and admiration, your cooking skills were wonderful!
The steak was perfectly medium, which managed to collect some compliments from the team. He grilled some cheese and garlic bread, along with meats you and the team had never seen before.
Later on, you all played soccer on the sand, and with such a different field, things got a bit hard. The dribbles were slower, but even without some years of practice, you managed to follow Lavinho’s pace, goaling for your team in a drawn-on-the-sand goal.
“Wow gracinha [cutie]!” - He said, examining you - “If you keep up like that I’ll have to upgrade your thank-you”. - You had already forgotten about it, but something on his face made you believe that, not only did he not forget, he thought about it quite some times.
Finally, when he was melting with sweat, Lavinho ran to the sea. Some of the players were already there, and they even played volleyball on the water, almost letting the sea carry the ball away.
Many of the spanish players, alongside the brazilian, wanted to stay until the sunset, so you all did. The evening was quieter, with the majority staying around the tables, grilling, eating and enjoying the view.
When everyone started to pack up to leave, Lavinho had somehow gone into the water without anyone noticed. - “Porra [fuck], I’ve been here for some time now, I can’t believe none of you noticed! Seus idiotas [you idiots]…” - You, who had stayed dry the entire time, was elected the one to drag Lavinho back to land.
It was no easy task. He seemed to dance not only on the field, but also on the ocean. Anytime you got closer to him, he dived and appeared behind you, scaring the shit out of you. - “Hey hey delícia [hottie], come on! Shit, what happened to you? You used to be faster!” - and again he dribbled, not a ball, but himself from you.
The sunset painted the sky pink and yellow, while the flower petals decorated the white ripples. And then a hand grabbed your arm, pulled you underwater and held you by the waist, letting you float above the culprit. Lavinho gave a simple smile, and as soon as your muscles understood how to keep your breath, you felt a kiss.

MY BRAZILIAN ASS HAS BEEN SUMMONED! Pão de Queijo is so good and amazing a good lil snack! If you put some cream cheese and like prosciutto in the middle you have a mini sandwich made by the gods
Omg while I was snacking on them, I also had the thought “hm, I wonder if this will be good with cream cheese” so I’m glad I’m not insane with my taste buds 😅
Unfortunately, my family and I ate all of them by the time I answered this ask, so I can’t try out this cream cheese and prosciutto hack. Nevertheless,I will have to make this bread again someday. Perhaps I’ll even post a pic to this blog, so all my Brazilian fishies can judge my baking skills and roast me!

Fun facts about Pollo Miller
He was born in Brazil in the state of Sao Paulo He is 30 years old He is autistic level 1 He joined the Toppats in his late teens to build weapons and things for the clan, he worked for a famous scientist who unfortunately betrayed him and tried to kill Pollo. Pollo's favorite food is stroganoff and cheese bread, and his favorite fruit is oranges. Pollo gets uncomfortable when someone touches him without permission, or a stranger he doesn't know touches him. He is sensitive to touch sometimes, so ask before you touch him! The antennas on his hat are connected to his gloves, and also to his goggles… If you change the antenna settings, Pollo turns into a TV or a kind of radio because of these antennas, turning his goggles into a screen XD He has a pet rat "Test subject 73"
Pollo is a fan of the Brazilian soccer team "Corinthians"
Pollo is very good at physics and astronomy. He's also very good at engineering. But he has a secret hyperfixation about aliens
Even though he often looks angry or annoyed, he may not be angry! He has a hard time showing emotions or facial expressions, so if you're in doubt as to whether he's okay or not, ask!
He has already caused 55 explosions in the Toppats' laboratory, and all of them were chemical experiments that went wrong
He's a workaholic and is always building something for the clan, he builds everything Reginald asks him to and has built some cyborg parts of RHM He has already had a medical license but lost it due to lack of proper care during surgeries (he slept during the surgery…. WAIT HE DID THE RHM SURGERY?!)
[edit]
He may sometimes act like a mad scientist and want to play god with science, this led to him losing his medical license XD
His gloves are gravity gloves that allow him to control and lift whatever he wants into the air

Trying Brazilian food with matt
Matt Sturniolo x Fem!Reader
Warnings: none, just fluff
Word count: 3628k
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Matt and I were in his car because we were going to record a video of him trying Brazilian food.
Hiiiiii loves, today I'm with the love of my life so he can try foods from my home country. - I said smiling and then looked at him
Hi guys. I could say that I'm a bit scared, since I'm afraid that some of these foods contain ketchup. - He laughs
Hey, I wouldn't do that, would I? Of course none of these foods have ketchup. - I say looking at him and wink at the camera.
I saw that - he says a little startled but then laughs.
Ok anyways. I didn't tell him what I bought, so we're in for some surprises. But I know that one of the things I bought he's already tried and I know he likes it. So let's go to the first item I'm looking forward to. - I say, picking up a bag of food from the back seat of the car.
Right, I've listed the foods on my cell phone notes from 1 to 8, so whichever number you say, I'll look it up and give it to you. Which one do you want first? - I explain and ask him
Hmmmm it could be 8 - he says thoughtfully
Okay, let me see. - I pick up my cell phone - Hmmm yes. - I take the most famous coconut candy, beijinho, out of the bag. - Here, one for you and one for me - I hand it to him.
What is this? - He asks
In Brazil we call it beijinho. Which in English would be Little Kiss - I say laughing - Okay let's eat together in 3 2 1
So we put the candy in our mouths and I look at Matt who smiles.
- Wow, it's good! What's it made of? - He asks looking at me
- Coconut - I say as I finish eating mine
- From 0 to 10, how would you rate this? - I ask
- 8/10 I think, it's good but it's very sweet - He laughs
Okayy, next number? - I ask him
- It could be 1 - He says
- Okay, then we'll have to - I look at my cell phone again - Oh, you'll love this one. - I say, this time picking up the paçoca candy. - This is paçoquinha and I'm not sure how to say it in English, but it's a peanut candy. - I smile and hand it to him - But be careful when you open it so you don't - OH GOD - Matt interrupts me by shouting and I look down to see all the crumbs of the paçoquinha on the bench
- That's what I was trying to say - I laugh and hand him another unopened one - Be careful now. - I laugh again and we eat the sweet
- Hummmm, this is better than the other one. - He says with a bit of paçoca falling out of his mouth and I laugh.
- I think so too, love. So what's the score? - I ask
- 10/10 totally - he says smiling. - So, now I choose 5 - He says as I pick up my cell phone to take a look.
- Ohhh this is one of my favorites - I say, taking two Toddynhos out of my bag - This is a wonderful chocolate drink that I used to have almost every day for breakfast. I think you'll like it, but be careful not to squeeze it and leak through the straw - I say and he looks at me with a strange face - You're very dirty-minded, aren't you? - I laugh and he laughs back and I hand him the box with the straw and open mine too.
- It's good, but I don't think it's that great, it's like the chocolate here too - he says, sipping it all the way down.
- You've got to be kidding, right? It's wonderful Matt - I laugh
- I don't know, I think this is a 7.5/10 - He says and I'm still a bit indignant but I don't say anything.
- Say one more number - I say to him
- Hmmmm 7 - He says
- Now it's not one of my favorites because I'm not the biggest fan of cheese, but here we have pão de queijo. Which in English would be cheese bread. - I say looking at him and he's already eating - You cheater, I haven't even counted yet.
- Oh sorry - He says spitting
-"owwww you didn't have to spit it out, that's disgusting." I laugh and he laughs, eating again.
- I liked this one, I think this one is 10/10 too - He says smiling as I eat mine and he wipes his hands - Now I choose 2 - He says and I pick up my cell phone
- This is the one you've already tasted and I love that you speak the right Brazilian way and not the American way. - I take it out of the bag
- Açaí? - He asks happily and I smile at the fact that he speaks correctly and respects the accentuation.
- Yes, love - I take the lid off the glass and hand it to him. - This is an açaí with banana. It's all yours because you know how I dread bananas with wet food - I laugh
- This is definitely a 100/10 - he says with his mouth half full and I laugh at him.
- Now there are only three more to go, say one more number - I say, looking at him
- Which ones are missing, I don't even remember anymore - He laughs
- 6, 5 and 3 are missing - I answer
- Okay, I want 5 - he says
Here's one more that will only be yours, it's a banana candy and I only bought it because I saw it in the store and decided to bring it for you to try, but I hate it - I laugh and he takes it and eats it.
- I'm not going to say I hated it, but I don't think I loved it either, I think I'd give it a 6/10 - he says
- That's a candy that's very controversial in Brazil - We laugh together
- Now I want number 3 - he says
- AHHHHHH I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS - I shout and he startles and laughs - I love this one too much, it's that chicken snack I always told you I loved, here's the coxinha - I say and hand it to him.
- Wow, it smells really good - he says and we bite into it - Yeah, so now I understand the reason for the outbreak, it's wonderful. Definitely 10/10 too. - He says
- Now can we get married? - I ask and he laughs
- And now the last one of all, drum roll. - Matt laughs and claps his hands on the steering wheel - The best Brazilian sweet ever invented. Brigadeiro. - I say and Matt makes a noise of surprise and I laugh, handing him the sweet.
- WOWWW it's definitely one of the best sweets I've ever had - He says and eats the rest.
- It's just perfect, love. Now before we finish the video, I want you to tell me the worst and the best food you've tried today. Just don't choose açaí as the best because you've already tried it.
- okay, the best I think was the coxinha for sure and the worst, well not that I didn't like it, but I think it was the banana jam - I laughed thinking it was cute the way he said coxinha
- So we're the same. I also think the coxinha is the best and the banana jam the worst. Well, that was it for today's video, loves. If you want me to bring him back here for more foods, let me know in the comments. Don't forget to follow us and subscribe to my channel. See you! - I say smiling and give the camera a kiss
- Bye - Matt says and I turn the camera off
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
It was long and most of the foods I put are very Brazilian and I gave my opinion on y/nn's version
Thanks for reading 🫶🏻🫶🏻

In honor of Starbucks declaring bankruptcy in Brazil, the country that drinks more coffee than the rest of the world, here is my ranking of Brazilian coffee options:
cafézinho: 10/10
Our blessed little coffee or the small break coffee. Usually served as a courtesy after lunch in any restaurant. You can find this one literally anywhere in Brazil. Your office’s breakroom. Hospitals’ hallways. Literally any business that has a waiting room. The only place you won’t find it is in a dentist’s office for a matter of principle, I suppose.
Café da cantina da escola: 10/10
The coffee you find in school/colleges' cafeterias. Usually has more sugar than advised to serve to teenagers but that’s the point. Only costs R$ 1,00 to R$ 2,00 reais. Served in plastic cups so you can carry it around with you and hug it against your chest if you live in one of the four states that has a winter season. Kept me awake during many many boring classes.
Café no copo americano: 11/10
The one from the bakery/bar closest to your home/school/job. This cup, called ‘american’ for industry history reasons, is a staple of Brazilian culture. Does it taste good? Honestly I don’t know but habit is a powerful thing. You’re gonna drink this coffee until the day you die and think it is the best thing ever. Bonus points if comes with a pão na chapa.
Café do metrô de São Paulo: 10000/10
Literally any coffee served in the metro stations in São Paulo. This coffee keeps Paulistas - and consequently, the whole country - one step further from total collapse.
Café com requeijão: 10/10
(sorry that's the best image I could find but it's really good I promise)
It’s coffee. And then you cut small pieces of a special type of Brazilian cheese and add to it for a burst of flavor. Makes your intestines work like crazy. Popular in the northeast region of Brazil. Not for everyone.
Café da casa da vó: 100/10
Your grandma’s coffee. She thinks you’re too thin. You’re not escaping her home anytime soon. The coffee is only an excuse for her to feed you. Must be served in the classic brown cup.
Café com leite: 10/10
Half and half. Popular with kids. What do you mean kids aren’t supposed to drink coffee?
Café mineiro com pão de queijo: 1000000000+/10
Minas Gerais’ coffee served with cheese bread. If you come to Brazil and don’t experience this combo, what are you even doing with your life? What’s the purpose of your existence? You’re gonna think about this flavor until the day you die.
#congratulations to starbucks for declaring bankruptcy in the country that drinks six times more coffee than the rest of the world#maybe we don't like overpriced things#who knows#coffee#café#brazilian stuff#brazilian coffee

how. how do you deal with gluten free flour. share your wisdom please
Okay so I don’t bake- like at all, I’m a cook, I can make a slappin dinner with just about anything.
That being said gluten free flower is VERY PICKY. The gluten free products I buy are usually pre baked. And the recipes I make that are gluten free are NATURALLY gluten free, (didn’t contain gluten in the first place)
Here’s the knowledge I’ve got for ya:
Most recipes that call for flour actually won’t work very well if it’s replaced with GF flower
Your best bet for GF recipes that actually taste good are naturally gluten free ones
The internet has many adapted recipes for gluten free flower that help the final product turn out correctly, so rather than replacing flour with GF flour in a recipe, find a recipe that calls for GF flour.
Also one of my favorite naturally GF recipes is a Brazilian cheese bread called “Pão de queijo” made with tapioca flour 💜
#ask#hi new followers I’m gluten free!!#it causes my joints to be inflamed lol#yes I’m old like that leave me alone

There is: (i got too excited and it's a bit long sorry)
What kind of brazillian foods/drinks the mercs would like the most
Scout:
He would love any kinds of street foods, his favorite ones would be coxinha, a fried snack stuffed with chicken; Hot dogs in the São Paulo way, they usually have mashed potatoes, corn, peas and shoestring potatoes above (with ketchup and mustard, of course) and pastel, a fried dough (the texture is similar to a puff pastry) that can have many kinds of fillings, the most usual one is mozzarella cheese. He also would love eat this while drink sugarcane juice (it's a classical combo).
Soldier:
This one is funny, bc in my head all the other mercs had to lie to him that they were getting 100% american food so he could at least try some, and he keep eating it without knowing the thruth. His favorite ones would also be ones of the most iconical ones, by irony of the destiny, such as feijoada and pão de queijo. He would also love farofa (is made either with corn or cassava, braised with oil and can have diverses other igredients too) but since Soldier is build diferently, insted of eating it as a side dish he just cook a huge ass pan of farofa and eat all of it with a spoon.
Pyro:
He would love brigadeiro, because is sweet as him (awwn). He would love churrasco (brazilian barbecue), so much that he, engineer and sniper would be the ultimate churrasqueiros of the team (however only engineer and sniper are alowed to touch on the grill since the incident). From the many things that can be made in a churrasco, Pyro likes garlic bread the most (because it gets burned at outisde really quickly but still ok to eat). The last thing from his list would be cuscuz paulista, recipe that blend corn flour and many other igredients, and that people from other brazilian states keep saying its ugly but THATS UNTRUE YALL JUST DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT - me, a sad paulistana.
Engineer:
As said before, he would love churrasco, and any kind of red meat should be his favorite (picanha, striploin…). He would also like the local beer options and condensed milk pudding (pudim). No special rasion on the last one (besides giving all the mercs at least 3 itens).
Demoman:
He would LOVE drinking cachaça (alchoolic drink made with sugarcane) and caipirinha as well (drink made with cachaça, lime, sugar and ice). For eat, his favorite food should be torresmo (pork skin with fat cut into small pieces and fried until crispy), that is also a good side dish in brazilian bar's.
Heavy:
His first favorite option would be estrogonofe, wich is actually a brazilian version of a russian recipe (stroganoff), with some alterations. He would also enjoy virado à paulista (plate composed of a beans and cassava flour mix, together with pork chop, tuscan sausage, fried egg, braised cabbage and a piece of breaded banana), it's a really big meal to a really big guy. Finally, he would go for "caipiroska" for drinking, with is a caipirinha variation but with vodka in the place of cachaça (wich i didn't know existed until i started writing this kkkkkk)
Medic:
Cuca de banana (a cake with bananas and a sugar & cinnamon on top) would be one of his favorite desserts (it also has a germanic origin i also didn't knew kkkkkk). He also would like specific foods from Bahia, such as Acarajé (dumpling made from black-eyed pea dough, onion and salt, and fried in palm oil, can be stuffed with shrimp or other options of filling) and cocada (candy made with coconut), but I can't specify why yet bc it envolves a headcanon/AU i'm still making and i want it to be a silly surprise, i'll edit here once it's done.
Sniper:
The last one of the ultimate churrasqueiros, his favorite item would be chiken's hearts. Aparently pumpkings are very used in australian culinary, so i like to imagine he would also like doce de abobora (dessert made with pumpking). Finally, i guess tapioca (cassava gum, can be fried like a pancake and stuffed to taste, among other uses) just suits him idk.
Spy:
He would love Carolina (looks like a éclair, but is smaller, rounder, and filled with dulce de leche) and sonho (fried dough, usualy filled with vanilla cream and with sprinkled sugar above. The name of this recipe translate to "dream" in a literal form btw kkkkk). Ending this list, Spy would enjoy queijo com goiabada (a slice of minas cheese thogeter with a slice of guava paste).
Thank you for reading until here, and sorry if i made you fell hungry hihihi
holy shit this is so good
also i want carolina that looks so good
i also want the sugarcane drinks, please god i’ll do anything

raghh now i’m both hungry and curious, what are some popular/traditional foods from brazil? i really only know a couple but i mean i like to eat and cook so…
I actually made some other posts about brazilian food (here and also here) but I'll include some of the others that didn't make it to these posts
Churrasco is like a....barbecue in some way, but it's very different. The image you have of a barbecue probably is a USAmerican grilling hamburgers or something, while churrasco you would probably see a brazilian family together celebrating something or just having fun in the weekend, drinking and listening to music while gossiping. It's SO common seeing families having a churrasco in weekends or on holidays, me personally I eat churrasco almost every weekend even though I'm not a fan of meat (I really love the bread in that picture though)
Pastel is also one of the most popular foods we have here, it has SO many different flavors you can eat it with and it's still so good regardless of it being sweet or salty. I already ate it with cheese, chicken, chocolate and goiaba fillings and I really can't decide which one is my favorite...
This one might anger some people... But this is brazilian hot dog, or how we call it here, "dogão". Everytime we include an international food into our country, we tend to do it OUR own way instead of sticking to the real traditional way of cooking these foods. Hot dogs didn't escape from brazilification, hot dogs here are filled with different types of meat, corn, potatoes, tomatoes and much more!!
This is pão de queijo, it's a dish from the state of Minas Gerais, but it's quite popular in the entire country. It's, as the name suggests, a bread made with cheese, and it's actually really tasty!! Even though I'm not from Minas, my grandfather was a mineiro and because of that my mom has the recipe and a lot of knowledge about the state
We call this fruit caju (I think the English name for it is cashew?? But I am NOT calling it that) it's a fruit from Brazil and we consume it a lot, whether it's eating the fruit, drinking the juice, eating sweets made with caju, soda made out of caju or eating the nut. My state is famous for having the biggest Cajueiro in the whole world, so it's a bit of our symbol-
We have a Caju flavored Fanta actually, which I'm judging that it can only be found here since Caju is a food native to Brazil

Random facts and canon tidbits from Heroes’ Feast: The Official D&D Cookbook
Dwarven cuisine doesn’t use many spices because dwarves have extra-sensitive taste buds and can detect complicated flavors in simple dwarven dishes like potato leek soup and corned beef and cabbage.
Halfling dishes include community cheeses (cheese fondue), melted cheeses (grilled cheese), oatmeal sweet nibbles (oatmeal cookies), and hogs in bedrolls (pigs in a blanket).
One recipe, Elven Bread, is said to be able to sustain an adventurer for a full day with only one bite. No, it’s not like any other fictional elven breads from famous high fantasy worlds. It’s cinnamon-swirled!
Speaking of totally original, legally distinct fantasy concepts, halfling meals include “second morningfeast.”
Dragonborns live in communal clans and eat mostly meat. As a result, they invented Brazilian barbecue. (Be careful when attending one, though, as some of the meat is from humanoids.)
Tieflings are the opposite of dwarves: their taste buds are charred, so they prefer extremely strong flavors. They also have a high spice tolerance, to the point where most tiefling spices could kill a human.
Half-orcs, being nomadic scavengers, often eat insects and grubs. Sometimes, they fry them or drizzle them in chocolate.
The book includes menus for restaurants on four different worlds. The menu for The Yawning Portal, a Forgotten Realms restaurant, offers four types of cheese. Checking the Forgotten Realms Wiki, I found that all four cheeses are from previous canon material, but the funniest one is Luiren Spring, which, according to the wiki, is a hard drug for halflings.

Point of view on: Brazil x US
As an international student from Brazil studying in the USA, one of the biggest cultural shifts I’ve experienced is the difference in food. Back home in Brazil, meals are deeply tied to family, tradition, and flavor, while in the U.S., food often revolves around convenience and variety. Here’s what stands out to me:
In Brazil, meals are a ritual. Lunch, the most important meal, usually includes rice, beans, a protein (like steak or chicken), and fresh vegetables or salad. The food is vibrant and seasoned with garlic, onion, and fresh herbs. Street food, like pão de queijo (cheese bread) and coxinha (fried dough filled with chicken), is affordable and beloved. And let’s not forget churrasco, our famous barbecue, which is a social event as much as it is a meal.
In the U.S., the pace feels faster. Grab-and-go options like burgers, sandwiches, and wraps dominate daily meals. Supermarkets here are massive, with an overwhelming variety of snacks and processed foods that we don’t see much of back home, additionaly something I noticed are the portion sizes here, a small drink here would easily be considered a large in Brazil. I’ve also noticed the love for international cuisines here, from sushi to tacos, which isn’t as common in Brazil.
Here’s a quick list of the most notable differences:
Brazil: Rice and beans are staples; fresh, homemade food; churrasco for gatherings. USA: Convenience-focused; fast food culture; wide variety of cuisines. While I sometimes miss the comfort of Brazilian flavors, exploring American food has expanded my palate in ways I never expected.
