similarities between loki and hela:

both feel entitled to the throne of asgard, harbouring resentment and anger when it is denied to them (ketu and heirdom themes).

their relationship with thor is marked by rivalry and attempts at dominance (uncertain of thor's astrological significance to be caught in conflicting positions with a raven-haired sibling, twice, who has ashwini influence – could be a coincidence).

they have daddy issues. their father, odin, is played by a mula moon native. interesting, as mula is the one who sees those whose roots are pure or not. though debatable if he's a terrible parent, loki's roots had been highlighted as monstrous and hela was a sociopath. this could go back to ashwini's association with serial killers, contrasting mula's inherent force of goodness and ashwini still finding itself (acting out selfishly and destructively for the self, 1H themes of identity are more prominent with loki though).

both possess a ruthless desire for power and control, which is vampiric and draining on a massive scale (causing literal genocide — ketu is the great destroyer and mars is the great conqueror).

loki excels in illusion, shapeshifting, and deception (already touched on this through other ashwini characters of the same abilities). his deceptive and trickster nature, again, linking back to ketu. the mcu character agatha harkness is a trickster who is played by an ashwini moon native, and has been compared to loki as she is infamous for her backstabbing, mischievous tendencies.

both loki and hela struggle with feelings of abandonment and loneliness. they quite literally live in the shadow of thor, who could be played by a possible uttara phalguni moon native (which explains loki-hela being shadows of the sun, which would be thor. ketu is darkness and ignorance, while sun illuminates and wards off darkness. thor could be interpreted as a solar native. sun nakshatras are very kingly themselves, after all).

both commanded terrifying armies, solidifying their roles as forces of destruction. hela's army were skeletal, zombie-like soldiers while loki's army were fearsome chitauri alien creatures. army = war, battle. battle and wars = mars. loki and hela both make the most sense as aries characters, especially ketu with their association to beastly creatures as they were commanding them under their war-like force (aries, again again again *thinking of ARES, THE god of war*).

loki’s green-and-gold and hela’s black-and-green armours are interesting. another highlight of the colour green is in the character morgana. although, green is exclusively associated with mercury. but, green is said to lessen anxiety, evoke a sense of renewal, hope, and new beginnings... literal ashwini themes. ashwini = rejuvenation, healing, freshness... all the energy which green possesses.

artemisia in the film 300: rise of an empire also wears gold-and-black, much like loki did in thor: the dark world. she's played by ashwini native eva green. this is all a coincidence but a funny one. gold makes far more sense too, as the ashwini kumaras are the golden armoured horse headed twins. speaking of horses, loki is the parent of sleipnir.

in the mcu and norse mythology, both hela and loki are figures associated with or commanding wild beasts — a major ketu hint. hela is the master of fenris, a gigantic undead wolf. in norse mythology, fenris is instead ruled under loki – which just signifies the ashwini influence. loki is the literal father/mother of some of the most terrifying beings including fenrir, jörmungandr (a large serpent) and sleipnir (an eight-legged horse) and hel herself who is beast-like too.

there is an interesting connection with serpents and aries (and ketu, as ketu is the tail of the serpent or dragon), as the serpent is the sacred animal of ares, the god of war. the serpent was a symbol of rejuvenation to the ancient greeks because it shed its skin — and ares has a lot of animal symbolisms!!! ares was also associated with famous dragons: the ismenian dragon and the colchian dragon.

a bit random but not quite, but in the young adult film through my window, the character ares is portrayed by a mula moon native. mula's animal yoni is the dog and young dogs were sacrificed to ares. the character ares is quite literally compared to the greek god, too, being portrayed by a ketuvian.

loki's redemption arc is interesting, as i already explored such a theme in my sun dominant themes post. there, i touched on ashwini as well, and talked about renewal and new beginnings, and how these themes further support the sun's exaltation in ashwini. loki's redemption arc is literally representative of a new beginning from his infamously backstabbing, trickster nature.

I'm still learning; this is just me laying out the obvious for myself. I might come back to this as it's laid foundation of my thoughts regarding this nakshatra. It's nothing much for now.

it feels like a lot of people have given up on fully connecting ISWM/Engie Mark to the wider lore (aka WKM) since IRL Mark straight up told us he wasn't Actor.

i have this entirely insane theory about iswm that Engineer Mark is actually Damien, but only sometimes.

the most obvious places i can spot him is in the abandoned ship with the candles ("captain needs their sleep" and whatnot), as Old Mark (specifically in the empty diner), and most definitely as the "Mark" we see as part of the finale, the one who realizes he was wrong.

Actor is allergic to admitting fault so I Don't Believe That's Him.

this explains the thematic focus on sleep and rest in these scenes, things told to Damien and told to US by DARK several times.

speaking of Dark, it explains why he isn't there. we DO however see the suspiciously Darkiplier-esqe Ms. Whitacre, which it isn't controversial to say atp is CLEARLY Celine.

that is, until the universe does its final kablooey and Dark as we know him, Damien attributes and all, comes to take the warp-crystal.

and besides, think about it.

given Actor's whole goal in all this, as laid out in the Damien Project, do you REALLY think he would write a story in which all problems arise from HIS OWN NEGLIGENCE? NO!

that would make him a villain, and all he ever wants is to be portrayed as the hero, literally for eternity!

but you know what i think he would do? set up a farce for the most troublesome of his "co-stars".

you, the viewer, want genuine choices? you want to have some real control over the story? some responsibility? FINE.

everyone looks to you, but under your leadership everything goes wrong, no matter what. you don't know why, but you're actively villinized and the harder you try to go back and fix things, achieve an "ending" on your own, the more people HATE you. the more the thought that maybe there IS something wrong with you specifically will stick in your mind as a possibility.

all these options, but none of them "right", creating MORE suffering instead of fixing it just to find that ever elusive end.

damien wants control of the narrative? he wants his old friend, you, the District Attorney to be released from his eternal story and given back to him? FINE.

here's his role back in earnest, given the possibility to engage and choose instead of intrude and twist like usual.

(yes, i do think Damien/Engineer is genuinely going down his own hopeless path while we find our own. in one of the descriptions leading to the final "Hold On/Let Go" confrontation, it says "you're not the only one making choices. you're not alone, you never were".)

he is allowed to fight for the safety of others, side by side with his closest companion, just as they did when they were alive.

BUT, the twist is Damien becomes a genuine villain. in his quest to do the altruistic thing and help at all cost, he is personally responsible for the death of LITERALLY EVERYONE EVER.

this is a personal hell for someone like Damien, as seen from WKM, all he ever seemed to want was help others and guide them towards peace.

for his actions/leadership to fail so unthinkably catastrophically, seems like the exact hell a bitter Actor would want to subject his "old friend" to for meddling. :/

Actor sets the stage for a theatrical punishment game. Mayor and Attorney, together again, taking an impossibly long stay in a personally crafted hell for the horrendous crime of ever even thinking they'd be worthy of ✨️staring roles✨️.

Actor turns you two against each other, and once Damien is brough down to the depths of despair and you have finally learned that true responsibility can lead to catastrophic, painful results, we're brought back to our proper places.

you go to a proper ending, with the Engineer role now being played by Actor once and for all, and Damien once again becomes part of Darkiplier, pocketing the warp-crystal to plant on the box in Heist.

Engineer isn't Actor, it's a role he plays when it suits him and his goals, to make his enemies suffer. he's willing to be Damien's understudy, if only for this purpose.

but at the end of the journey, Actor becomes Engineer to take in the fruits of his labor. ..and maybe invite you to a Heist while he's at it.

OKAY HERE IT IS my Book of Hours TMA au, still kind of unfinished

jon (knock lantern) is the 12th librarian, of course. i'm still haven't nailed down his backstory, but BoH literally has a book of children's stories filled with terrible secrets written in a language with "addictive qualities", so there's something good there i just need to figure out specifics

the most obvious choice is to make gertrude (knock heart?) 11th librarian, but i don't think van lauren's whole deal lines up with her at all. granted, she doesn't need to be doing van lauren's thing to work as 11th, but still, considerations. another option is to make gertrude governor of the cucurbit instead? i mean it's pretty terrible even for her, but it fits into her ends-justify-the-means protecting the world from the supernatural thing, so there's something interesting there.

if gertrude is governor, either sasha (knock lantern) or gerry (...lantern forge?) was 11th librarian. not sure who's better for that. if gertrude is 11th librarian, maybe jonah (lantern, and rose?? not sure) was governor of the cucurbit? (but i don't want him to be out of the story lol) if he's alive he's jon's superior at the bureau, if he's dead it's maybe sasha? altho the beureau doesn't seem like her thing. maybe sasha was another previous librarian?

actually wait i've just had another thought. jonah is from way earlier in hush house's history instead, a baron probably, and just like in tma jon mostly finds a bunch of homoerotic letters written to him. he'd probably have tried to become immortal, maybe a lantern long? he could theoretically still be around. probably visits during numa

jon's friend in brancrug is georgie (winter heart) -- not sure what her job would be. also living in brancrug is martin (heart moon)!

jon and martin initially get off on the wrong foot, but eventually jon admits that martin is useful for clearing out rooms and they start spending more time together (jon definitely starts hiring martin even if other assistants would be more efficient sometimes). one day he invites martin up to help out but they get distracted talking about things and never actually get around to work. jon tries to pay martin his promised shilling on his way out, and martin refuses; jon says that even though he didn't end up helping jon still wasted his day, but martin says he spent the day with his friend and it wasn't wasted at all. he spends more time there after that, even without a reason. (one time, they uncover the wine cellar and get drunk together; by the time they realize martin needs to go home it's the middle of the night and a storm is raging, so jon insists martin spend the night at hush house. unfortunately there is way more than one bed, but they will eventually get together).

jon reads and rereads martin's poetry for memories.

among hush house's many visitors are a pair of edge-long, daisy (edge grail?) and basira (edge rose), who sometimes come looking for each other. occasionally their visits overlap, much to the librarians' chagrin (so much collateral damage). jon once put a chess board in front of them and managed to delay the physical fighting long enough to move the breakable things elsewhere.

hmm now that i'm thinking about it, gerry works very well in christopher illopoly's place. had a falling out with his mother, who could easily have been a librarian, then later lived at hush house under a different librarian (gertrude), that's fun.

many more characters show up in this au, some as visitors and some as historical figures jon reads about as he restores the library (many characters will be long gone by the time jon becomes librarian, but they might not be the ones youd expect. reading about historical events and people is such an important and compelling part of BoH, and i think it would be cool to learn about major characters we care about solely from books). i haven't figured out who they all are in this setting, but i've figured out principle aspects for a lot of them!

well this post was as much stream of consciousness as it was writing down what i'd already planned. in conclusion: jonah as a baron (or maybe the second son of a baron who didn't inherit the estate, which everyone said was probably for the best since he never married or had heirs); mary, gertrude, sasha, and jon as librarians; gerry in a similar role to christopher illopoly; georgie and martin as villagers in brancrug; daisy and basira as an edge-long dyad.
