people on tumblr will literally post things like “you have to eat vegetables and expand your palate i dont care if you are a picky eater because of autism (if i can overcome it you can too)” and everybody will reblog it being like “yes this is true for everybody no matter what” and think its okay. like sorry but that wont work for everyone and there is no one size fits all and some people will never be able to eat these things no matter how hard they try. im only allowed by my doctors to eat recreationally and not for nutrition, because my ARFID is so severe that i get my nutrition solely from a specially made formula drink. your suggestions of “try vegetables roasted!” or “try them in soup!” and assurances of “i did it, you can too!” don’t work for those of us with more severe mental illnesses and disabilities. stop tying a person’s worth to their diet and stop assuming everybody has the ability to do what you can.

your mysticcacao headcanons reminded me the worst part of this burning spice update. you see, when THAT scene dropped, the "let me hold your chin while you gaze helplessly up at me" I was changed as a PERSON. I was bouncing off the walls you could say. Bananas. It hyped me with the idea that every beast was gonna have a mentally ill physically intimate moment with their special little ancient. but when that didn't happen between spice and cheese I was like 🥲 devsis why. now I'm worried not even vanilla and shadowmilk will get a scene like that, if I was in charge I'd make it MANDATORY!!

But then they didn't do it with Spice and Golden and I was so upset lmaooo. Not good enough for any of us, I don't think. But it's ok, they fed the BurningCheese nation with plenty of other food in the form of Spice obviously being down horrendous all throughout episode 6. (I wanted a scene of Spice personally carrying Golden to the bird cage, but whatever. "Mine Forever More" remains canon in my heart 🥲)

And nooooo they HAVE to have SOMETHING for Milk and Vanilla. Milk is fucking GONZO about that guy, and he's a silly billy with obvious boundary issues. Does Caper self-project onto his puppet? Even if just sometimes (Talking about the iterator cabin fever). Just curious since he'd have to interact with Sparrows through it and I'm wondering if that would do much.

ah! i thought about this as one of the first things when considerin their relationship!

Sparrows makes it a point to always bully him off of his puppet like the good Iterator Mechanic/Admin that she is (when they aren't havin a Cuddle Session). when they learnt about these type of things back in school, it actually all horrified her So much that one of her projects was a detailed exploration of ways to prevent mental sicknesses like that. it was... all "too" humane, according to the teachers, so much so that she got a bad grade. she uses these methods with Euros either way tho, gotta make sure her boy is as healthy as he can be

it does often end up with her sitting on the floor of his chamber with the puppet suspended above her, unresponsive, while she converses essentially with an empty room. it sometimes fucks her up a lil cuz like that there is nothing shielding her from the reality of an Iterator's sheer merciless size. it's a one hell of a mindfuck. Euros keeps making fun of her whenever she spaces about it a lil n she kicks one of his walls in response

I can see why some people are upset about the pit madness concept with Jason, but I still think it's a great tool for having actually literally affected his mental health. It's not about his anger. Jason's anger comes from his core, and all of the decisions he made because of his anger were his alone—but I do think the madness should fuck him up in that way that his hands shake and he gets so angry when he shouldn't. When theres no reason to be. When people are just talking or breathing or living in the background and it being irritating and overstimulating is what triggers the biochemistry that was affected by the pit to turn that to eleven. To try and make him respond like it's a threat. The smallest things set him off to a higher degree than they normally would—not every time, but often enough he has to check himself and really get a focus on regulating his emotional state. On forming a healthy relationship with his patience. It should keep his adrenaline too high, so he thinks he can keep going and going past when anyone should in a fight, and no one knows to tell him to stop because he seems fine and he genuinely thinks he is. It doesn't affect his vision, but it triggers a hypervigilance and hypersensitivity to what's around him—and the paranoia he already suffers with takes that and runs; turning shadows into people long enough he thinks to grab at his guns before he cools off.
