i am SOOO unbelievably thrilled by your anthro au omg. do you have fashion ideas for the characters? like their favorite outfits, fabrics, etc? imo one of the best parts of anthro characters is deciding how they'd express themselves through their clothing :]

I HAVE A FEW ALREADY!!!! i dont have many specifics because theres so many characters ahd i havent drawn them all yet LOL but i'll share the ones i do have at least SOMETHING for

im also trying to keep these reasonable for the time period and location, as in my au the clan cats are mostly rural and in small towns set (mostly) before the 2000s so most may dress more modest and conservative (especially if theyre older and very religious)

squirrelflight - the best i can describe her sense of fashion is that it ranged from tomboy as a younger girl and is currently closer to a working class butch. im not sure if masc would be a more appropriate term since i dont hc her as a lesbian (shes bi) but she dresses "like a man" and owns a lot of jeans, slacks, and button-up shirts of all kinds of fabrics and patterns. she also enjoys bright colors as well, but as she got older her fashuon sense got a little more sensible and less "loud" like it was in the 60s and 70s. she also has glasses like her daddy once shes like 35 or so. she and firestar dressed very similarly, and a lot of her shirts and neckties are things she stole from his closet

feathertail - very feminine. hippie adjacent, lots of loose and flowing garments and jingly pieces. breatheable clothes and open toed shoes. her favorite swimsuit had some little frilly bits on it i think. often combines neutral earthy tones with blues and whites

crowfeather - lots of handmedowns from his father. clothes you can do farmwork in like jeans, overalls, hardy flannel/denim shirts and boots. never grew out of this and still dresses this way and he likes it

jayfeather - he looks like a modernized (as far as the 80s goes) version of his father - same hairstyle snd way of dress. he isnt too formal but does have some more preppiness to his clothing style (polo shirts and sweaters). he avoids full button downs since buttoning them himself jjust gets frustrating since he cant match them up every time. new wave band shirts. he also wears orange tinted glasses to protect his eyes (in this au i wrote that hes able to perceive shadows and light pretty okay, but not much else beyond that) And Kinda As A Fashion Statement cuz it goes well with his facial structure and hairstyle i think

lionblaze - hes like if the stereotypical jock and stereotypical 80s rock+metal enthusiast had a baby. muscle tees and bandanas, ripped jeans, those absurdly short shorts, crop tops, etc. he's a drummer i think if that matters LOL

ivypool - punk, also sorta like joan jett to an extent. very homemade, tho sometimes she gets lazy and doesnt really commit to the outfits all the way (but definitely has the mindset, dint get me wrong). one of those girls with a chest small enough to go braless 99% of the time; wears a lot of tank tops and sleeveless shirts LOL

bone/brick/scourge - just google "the outsiders movie" or "greaser" and you'll get the idea. tho i imagine these three in particular also have some kind of bare minimum formalwear scraped together from their escapades. theyre kinda like the jetts/sharks from west side story if that helps at all

daisy - she combines flowing, pretty dresses with a sunhat and work boots. she also teaches horseback riding and owns a few (its a business she runs w smokey and floss. i think its be funny if they were polyam ITS MY AU I CAN CHANGE WHAT I WANT) and she has horseback-appropriate clothing as well

poppyfrost - THEE preppy girl of the 80s. big hair, perm and all. dresses with pastel colors. her sisters cinderheart and honeyfern are pretty similar, tho i imagine honeyfern is a little more sporty and cinderheart takes inspiration from madonna once shes trying to court lionblaze

hazeltail - long haired country girl butch. enough said

okay okay i finally have the brain to answer another headcanon post. so!

-knuckles loves and protects the chao on angel island with his LIFE. he named every single one of them even though there are a LOT and he remembers all their favorite fruits and stuff and he just. cares them sm 💚

-kinda stole this one from @maltdown but it stuck in my head so: amy has sooo many hobbies and she always wants to learn new types of arts and crafts and new instruments and stuff but there isnt NEARLY enough time in the day to do all she wants to do. she does get overwhelmed by this btw. (she just like me fr-)

-amy always shows a good face around people and doesn't like showing her faults but oh my god. the executive dysfuncction on this girl. also she's bipolar so she can sometimes just. shut down for a week. or go manic and end up overwhelming herself, or spending too much time doing something she shouldn't be doing, or spending way too much money. she'll only show this side to sonic or knuckles because she knows she can trust them to help her keep the image she wants to keep around others.

-she made friendship bracelets for everyone btw. she enjoys making bracelets so much that this isnt something she keeps special for just her best friends. she makes bracelets for anyone she thinks had an effect of some sort on her in life and she makes matching ones for herself. she ends up with basically a whole sleeve of bracelets, each one different to remind her of the person it represents. she doesnt always wear them but she makes sure to on special occasions

-sonic once tried on shadow's shoes and he HATED it. whats the point if you cant feel the ground underneath your feet. whats the point if you dont constantly move your legs really fast. sonic doesn't want to GLIDE he wants to RUN

-sonic is faster than shadow btw. if you even care

-back to amy's bracelets. she gave one to eggman btw. it has a bead with an angry emoji on it

-amy loooves playing animal crossing. she invites all her friends to her island. sonic doesn't play the game nornally so she had him make a character on her switch and build a house on her island. she likes to leave him gifts even tho he's probs not gonna play again any time soon

-sonic loves reading and fantasy action is his favorite. he loves all the ways that people can create worlds and interpret worlds to their own needs and stories

-sonic's favorite flowers are dandelions (i am NOT projecting) because they're strong and they carry with the wind...

-amy will purposefully leave many dandelions to grow in her garden for him even though she likes to have a variety of different flowers there

-i am so normal about the fact that amy cares about sonic so much okay. yes she may be aroace but he means so much to her. i will sob

-amy's favorite colors are pink and red because of their associations with love, but she's also big on yellow and green

-sonic is really into how to train your dragon. he got tails into it to. something about being different and finding a friend thats different, yknow

-sonic and amy are so genderqueer okay. sonic got top surgery, amy's on puberty blockers, and they are best friends. they mean so much to me

-amy wasn't super into pokemon before but tails showed her tinkaton. she started a party just full of them and called her her little minions. shes hungry for power (but also she loves every single one of them with all her heart)

-amy's favorite drink is raspberry tea!!!!!!!!!! raspberries are her favorite fruit in general

-sonic's more of an orange guy. he will chug orange juice WITH pulp and you CANT STOP HIM

-tails isnt big on fruit tho

-knuckles LOVES fruit except for grapefruit. fuck grapefruit

-tails is an avid tooth brusher. he will brush his teeth THREE times a day. he also makes sure sonic brushes at least twice

-sure sonic is the older one and he raised tails but sonic isnt the best at taking care of himself. they both kinda force each other to do self care stuff all the time

Hi I've seen ppl tag this saying that they'll use it for writing or OC stuff and I think that's REALLY COOL, so I figured I could give you some more context too. This post is already kinda long tho, so I'll just put the rest under a readmore:

First of all, I don't think I made it clear what they were really about, beyond being a "working class subculture." Their ideals basically center around a denouement of anything bourgeois- They're very anti-authority. They might also be communists (My papou was, and notably raised children who would spraypaint stuff like "μπάτσοι γουρούνοι δολοφόνοι" (cops are murderous pigs) around town, so thats the kinda anti-authority we're dealing with). The arm being worn improperly out of the jacket might have been a symbol of this, not really on a "We agree this is what it means" kinda way, but in the sense that it showed a lack of care for wearing the suit the "right" way, mimicking a cape. The one-sleeved-jacket was also why they had the characteristic limped walk.

There's another explanation for the sleeve thing though... Stabbings. The idea is that if they were attacked by a member of another gang, they could wrap their sleeve jacket around the attacker's arm to protect themselves from being stabbed. I don't know how realistic that is, but it would be cool in a fight scene! This may have also been why they wore thick fabrics as belts, it protected a lot of their vitals. Again, these guys all carry around knives all the time, stabbings happen.

Also (And this is totally on me for using black and white pics) the outfits actually do have some pops of color! Red is the most common, especially on the belt. peep these:

These are all super caricatured depictions of course, but you can spot pretty much any stereotype on them because of this. The komoloi in all their hands, the knives in the fabric belts (Right seems to have a gun), the hats, mustaches, the arm out the jacket (Right and left), and the bouzouki for rebetiko music (Middle). You can see where they'd usually place the red on their belts or ties.

(The right image is especially caricatured because its from "Karagiozi," a puppet theater in which most characters play in these types of Greek cultural stereotypes. The main guy, Karagiozi, is literally a stereotypical poor drunk working greek guy, his famous slogan is, "We will eat, we will drink, and starving we will sleep." A lot of the characters from the past dont hold up and arent used as commonly, but the mangas one is pretty safe)

Of course, it doesnt have to be red, again these are caricatures of what's most popular. You can use any colors you want in a character design. Here's a super colorful picture of a bar fight:

Even with the bright colors you can't mistake what they are! If you look closely their arms are not in the jacket sleeves, once again! Plus, since its a bar fight it's the perfect time to take out those knives. Their ties are matched to the colors of their belts too, which is just good fashion sense, I'm sure. Also theres an MP that seems to be about to intervene. Again, manges hate authority. If you know anything about Greek history, you'd know its not just a typical "I hate being told what to do" attitude either, but the government was incredibly oppressive- there are lots of horror stories I could share from family, but thats neither here nor there. The point is there really was something they were rebelling against.

Oh, you didn't read all that because you were thinking, "Is that a fucking hookah?" yes it is.

They were super common, and actually part of the reason komboloi were popular too. Even to this day one of the things that "Worry beads" are marketed to people, especially tourists, for is to help you quit smoking. They don't actually help you quit on their own, and most manges werent trying to, but what it does is keep your hands busy when youre craving a hit.

Pic on the right is also an album cover, so you might be wondering what kind of music these guys actually listened to. Well, its not exactly punk rock, and by today's standards it's sort of just seen as old timey, but this is exactly it:

Lyrically most of the songs tend to be about the reality of being a working class urban citizen at this time. Or really, any time. That hasn't changed, and thats why they stay classics. They can be about crime, violence, sex, drugs, poverty, love, war, death, family, whatever. They're not always sad either, sometimes they celebrate their lives through this. But what's important to understand is where the style came from, I'm sort of going to use a Wikipedia quote here because I cant put it better

The womb of rebetika was the jail and the hash den. It was there that the early rebetes created their songs. They sang in quiet, hoarse voices, unforced, one after the other, each singer adding a verse which often bore no relation to the previous verse, and a song often went on for hours. There was no refrain, and the melody was simple and easy. One rebetis accompanied the singer with a bouzouki or a baglamas (a smaller version of the bouzouki, very portable, easy to make in prison and easy to hide from the police), and perhaps another, moved by the music, would get up and dance. The early rebetika songs, particularly the love songs, were based on Greek folk songs and the songs of the Greeks of Smyrna and Constantinople.

Wikipedia also lists the important tenants of the music as, "Love, joy, and, sorrow." However, I think this is a rough translation. The word "Kefi" is translated as "Joy," but does not have an exact english counterpart. It's a passion deep within your soul, that yearns to be physically let out. This "Kefi" is where art and music comes from. It's also why Greek people break plates at parties! It's to let out your kefi. (Going back to the OG post- Stimming is letting out your kefi too!)

Anyway this is all very traditional stuff, so if you're trying to write a modern mangas... It's honestly a bit of a different story! (Though a traditional guy in a modern setting is fun). You could get away with just sort of writing a tough arrogant guy in general, and he'd still be labeled a "Mangas" because that term has sort of just become shorthand for "Tough guy" nowadays (Kind of like "Punk" doesnt always mean... Punk.) But there are some things like...

Stereotypes that sort of get perpetuated through movies, for example! This is one from the late 1960s. The super buttoned down shirt wasnt that common of a thing way back when, but it seems to have become more of a thing over time (You can see it in that album cover from before), and media may have aided in that. The belts are also just regular belts and carrying a visible knife isn't as much of a thing (He might still have one on him tho). Also the necklace is important, i cannot stress enough how Greek fuckboys who wanna look tough will always be wearing a chain, often with a cross or icon (Mostly to be aesthetic rather than religious). Fashion from the 1900s-1960s is obviously going to change a bit. Also, holy crap that shirt on the right is yellow as hell.

Anyway uhhh this post was originally about komboloi remember? I feel like some people didn't fully understand how the "Stimming" with them works- It's not just sort of playing with the individual beads, you do tricks! It's cool to know the tricks, boosts your komboloi status. Check out this video:

So yeah! I hope this helps anyone who would wanna write a character with the "mangas" archetype. Even if you wanna do a traditional one in a modern setting, I think that's a fun sort of trope! It would also be cool to do a rare woman mangas lol. In general, it's an archetype you don't really see outside of Greece, so I think people being interested by it is really cool! Even if you don't wanna write anything about it yourself, and you just wanted to learn a bit about a different country's subcultures, thats also really cool!

Some designs for the Smithy Gang for Weapon Fam AU: An smrpg au where Geno is Smithy’s son, leaving him a strange half-Weapon half-Star hybrid... and also leaves him as half-siblings with the entire Smithy Gang because Yes Smithy Adopted Them All, Fight Me

I infodump about their designs versus canon under the cut because they were really fun!!!

Yaridovich!

Yari is the oldest of the siblings, and I really wanted to convey “strict older bro” vibes. In canon Yari’s probably the one who intimidated me the most, while most of the other Smithy Gang were Goofballs(which is not a bad thing! It IS a Mario game XD) 

When designing him, my biggest complaint was that it looks like he’s wearing a goddamn diaper, so Stella suggested giving him a kilt instead... AND IT WAS SO GALAXY-BRAINED HOW COULD I SAY NO! I took the kilt look a step further and even added a fly plaid over his shoulder! Straightened the posture, darkened some colors for a more intimidating/sinister look, and tattered up the cape for Drama~ Honestly this one’s my favorite design

IM SORRY FANDOM, I JUST- I KNOW ITS A JOKE THAT HE DOESNT WEAR CLOTHES BUT I JUST- I JUST WANTED TO GIVE HIM AN OUTFIT ;_; I really wanted to give him something casual but practical: you know something to go adventuring in. You’ll tear space-cape from my cold dead hands. Also some extra curls sticking out because why not! 

Growing up with the Smithy Gang, Geno would obvi have a different palette of clothing to more match them, but when turning “traitor” to help save Star Road, he’d don a more star-like look to get everyone in the Mushroom Kingdom to trust him more

Bowyer!

OUGH. This one gave me the most hell- WHAT IS THAT CANON DESIGN???? The biggest things I kept in mind while coloring was: 1- I wanted more metallic pieces so that he fit the look of the Weapons more and didn’t stick out as much, and 2- wanted to give him more of an archer look- hence the quiver and bracers!

Made his tail more tail-like, de-saturated the colors to something a little more forest-fitting and les eye-straining, smoothed out a lot of the... whatever bumpiness is going on in the original design... went with more a Sonic look for his mouth/cheeks/whatever that hell is supposed to be. Oh! Nearly forgot! Pulled the classic “their eyes are one color in the art, and another color in the game, so I guess they’re heterochromatic now”

This one’s still up to change, I’m not as happy with this as I am with, say, Yari, but I still like what I came up with so far!

The Axems!

I only drew Red cuz I’m lazy- the rest look about the same, just with slightly different body types like in canon and their respective colors. My biggest beef with the Axems was that they’re clearly supposed to be teenagers(like cuz of the Power Rangers ripoff), but in the game they look like toddlers and... honestly it’s hard to take them seriously XD

So one day when thinking of designs, I thought to a character in FNaF called Lolzhax, who looks roughly like this. I thought to myself “Hey, what if the Axems had a Lolzhax-type of body type?” And I doodled it and... Lo and behind, I think it really works! Also slightly inspired by Axem Rangers X from SMBZ, of course. I wanted them to have that ARX look while still looking something relatively close to canon XD

Green comes to nearly Bowyer’s height, Pink is a little taller than Red, Black is about Geno’s height, and Yellow’s somewhere between Geno and Mack, def closer to Geno in height tho

The baby of the sibs! This one I admittedly deviated the most from canon design with, but... I like this design, sue me! I wanted something less “a devil in a red bodysuit and green shoes” and more “a rogue machine who actually looks like he’d use knives”. Darkened the palette to reflect the “rogue” goals, and like Bowyer, added a few more mech-ish points to fit the overall group look of “yes we’re weapons not organics”

The setting: It’s new york babey! We’re following our protagonist April O’Neil, 17 years old, as she navigates the confusing waters of high school, first jobs, and accidentally stumbling upon a mutant underworld. This samples a lot from rotmnt and 2012 bc i have no creativity

characters i’ve thought out

Irma- 18, senior, about to go to college to major in Architecture. She’s aloof but she actually cares about people deep down, she just doesn’t like to show it. She’s trying to let her natural hair color grow out from the years she dyed it black. She likes documentaries, chess, hanging out at graveyeards, and writing horror short stories. Seems sorta doom n gloom but is more apathetic than negative. She’s the president of the journalism club (who runs the school newspaper and morning news segment.) She’s looking for someone to take over the club after she’s gone, and has the perfect candidate in mind… if only April had the skill to match her enthusiasm.

April O’Neil- 17, junior, and aspiring journalist and reporter. She’s upbeat, determined, confident, and a real bright spot ot the people that know her. Her favorite things to do are listen to music, sing, take pictures, and take walks in the sun. She’s a go-getting, very self driver to acheive her goals, and her ultimate goal is to be the greatest reporter that has ever lived. Unfortunately, april doesn’t have the knack for reporting, and every piece she’s submitted to her schools newpaper has been fluff pieces… Irma tasks her with writing a front page headliner for the paper so she feels confident passing the club onto her, and in Aprils attempt to come up with the greatest story ever, she sutmbles upon a gang war and 4 mutant turtles…

Casey Jones- 18, Junior, and barely passing. Casey’s the kind of boy no one really expects anything of, so he doesn’t bother trying bc at least then he won’t fail. April inspires him to be better. He likes bad jokes, terrible coffee, and hockey- he’s hoping that April will tutor him enough to be able to bring his grades up enough to be allowed back on the school’s team. He seems sorta prickly and rude at first, but he’s just got a spiky outer shell and he’s really sweet inside. He loves horror movies and extreme sports competitons. He makes a point to walk april home whenever she stays late working on school stuff,

the setting: They still live in the sewers, Splinter is still their dad but he’s very old when he gets the turtles, making him even older now. He does a lot of meditating and watching tv and doing crosswords, yknow old people stuff. He relies a lot on Leo to be the head of the house now that he’s old enough. He still trains the boys to learn martial arts bc he thinks it’s important they can defend themselves, considering what they are. He can kick ass when he needs to, tho

leo- 19, red ear slider, silent and stoic leader, raised as a child to be responisble for his brothers. He’s pretty socially awkward and weird bc he was divided from his brothers at a young age and didn’t get a lot of chances to grow and play with other kids his age. raph- 18, Snapping turtle, and he’s got a short fuse and a big appetite. He’s a bit resentful of his families situation stuck in the sewers and darkness, and he hates being looked down upon. He’s only rebellious bc of how confined and trapped he feels, and though he can act like a grump and lash out he has a heart of gold. He likes wood carving, it’s actually how he made his little sun pendant he wears, it’s something to remind him the sun will rise soon and he’ll be there to see it.

donatello- 17, softshell turtle, bookworm and tech wizard. he likes to read for fun and he’s super into mechanics and computers. smarter than his brothers but thinks WAY too much, often holes up in his lab for hours trying to work out some particularly tough programming problem and will only come out for tea or pizza. he can be snooty/superior in situations where his intellect can be flashed. the worst ninja of the bunch (he thinks more with his head than with his body and never practices)

mikey- 15, box turtle, goofy gooey heartfelt younger brother. He cant draw for shit but still tries because he thinks it’s fun. He’s good at writing and poetry, he likes words and keeps a daily diary he writes in every day. He also keeps a dream journal and a log on all the tunnels in the sewers they’ve explored. He like to keep notes. Comic books are his favorite reading material but he’s picky about the art styles he enjoys, and he is very naturally talented with anything physical. good at easing tension but has 0 common sense, just a round angel

Leo is the shortest and lightest, agile and quick. Mikey is second shortest but he’s fat, which doesn’t detract from his natural flexibility. Raph is second tallest and broad shouldered with big arms, a powerhouse. Donnie is tall and lanky, a little uncoordinated but still strong.

Everything about Keiths design makes me think of G Gundam and I fucking love it. His stupid fucking anime mullet, the silly jacket, his fucking attitude he just exudes when hes not even saying anything. Its funny as hell and also amazing. Its like the fused Domon and Kyoji. I love it.

Love this chonky boy. I like his outfit better without the vest but overall I think his design is cute. The green vest is just one too many for the colors to me... maybe if it matched his gloves.

I actually love Lances design. His lanky ass, his stupid choppy hair with the side bits. The colors work for me... his tiny pupil eyes are weird to me but thats so nitpicky its unbelievable. Shame about that early personality and a good chunk of his fandom though.

I love her and everything about her design. The soft pinks and blues, her off white hair with the blue tinge, blue eyes... YEAH KNOW I GUESS IT WASNT THAT HARD OF A JUMP TO MAKE HER THE BLUE PALADIN. Galra-

Ulaz design is one of my absolute favorites, I love the shapes on him especially his really angular face... but he looks sick as fuck with this mask too.. hes got a real intimidating, elegant charm to him. ... I miss Ulaz.

Kolivans design... while I like it cuz Im a sucker for a big buff boy... is so fucking weird. The weird crown part to his head is bizarre but not unpleasant. The red on his face looks cool and gives him a whole war-paint look but I just dont like red that much LMAO and with everything else going on with his head its a little cluttery but maybe its the scars fault... they shoulda made it more deep looking so it doesnt blend in with his markings so much? MAYBE.

Im on the fence honestly.My first instinct is to think hes a rather handsome cat boy... but his lack of defined ears and the weird spikes on his head is weird. I know its just wacky Galra bullshit but.... I mean I like it its simple... but if his ears are the the pointy bits on his head I wish they were more pronounced so I would just think hes got no ears and Wolverine hair. LMAO

I love Sendaks design. He looks fucking WILD. He does Kolivans weird crown thing better and scar thing better. Hes amazing and such a fluffy lad. What a bastard... but I love it. His cool ass arm too! Gosh hes a cool fella.

Zarkon... MEH. I dont have much to say about it. I like the fluffier Garla looks better. Its weird that some are totally scaly/leathery and then some are fuzzy/downright fluffy... Im guessing there was an equator and like hot places and cold places on... GALRA PLANET which would evolve different Galra types but still... I LIKE THE FLUFF. His last form when he was like full fucking zombie fighting Lotor... was pretty sick though.

FUCKING AMAZING. Shes got a lot of colors on her but they really enhance her mermaid/Galra cross better because their just little dashes of color and not overbearing. The dark blueish purple with the bright pink under looks amazing... that chick from She-Ra has a similar hair do but the more pastel look makes it kinda weird... this dark/vivid contrast is much better. Zethrid is amazing.

you my friend get to hear about benji my best friend benji!

his name is benji rento and originally he was part of a thing where we made mashup ocs of our favorite characters and he was a mashup of i think sal fisher and jason voorhees. but hes his own thing now and i really like him a lot! i used to draw him nonstop because hes just so easy, unfortunately i dont have any art of him on hand but if i find one ill share or maybe i can doodle him real quick.

basically, benji is a sort of modern day Frankenstein's monster - his father is a necromancer and, for undisclosed reasons, took it upon himself to try and create life from "scratch." (he steals corpse parts from the cemetery. lol)

he's made up of at least a dozen people at any given time, so hes mis-matched and his appearance is different every time he's seen. every patch of him is a different color in various states of decomposition; hes constantly losing body parts (mostly hands/fingers/feet/legs) but his dad is quick to patch him up with a fresh(er) piece.

the only things that haven't been replaced in his 23 years of existence are his face and brain - benji's dad is very sentimental about this, and despite the extremely advanced state of decay both are in, he cant bring himself to replace them. plus a change of brains would essentially alter everything about benji, and it wouldnt be him anymore.

because of the absolutely horrific state of benji's face, benji wears a mask. he's a big fan of spongebob and kirby so his friends like to draw and put stickers on it for him.

his height is usually around seven and a half to 8 feet tall depending on who he's made of. he has shoulder length ratty gray hair with a purple tint - no matter whose scalp piece gets attached to his head, the color and texture always change to match.

given that he is what he is he has the intelligence of a child around 4 to 6 years old and probably wont get any smarter. hes very nice but quick to anger as he can get overwhelmed easily but cant control how his body responds to excess stimuli so he sort of goes on an unintentional destructive rage on his surroundings (aka mostly his room lol)

kids also love him - when he goes around the neighborhood they like to stop and play with him and use him as a jungle gym because hes so huge lol

some little trivia about him:

contrary to popular belief about zombies he does not need to eat at all, much less crave brains and flesh - he does really like cold food tho because of how it makes his insides feel (and also helps to preserve organs!)

his favorite season is winter because he decays a lot slower in cold weather. in summer hes falling apart at supersonic speed

he can be quite stubborn; its hard to teach him things or get him to pay attention when he doesnt want to but he Is capable of learning. he mostly picks up things his dad doesnt want him to learn, like parroting things his friends will say or do (mr pottymouth nishima). once he picks something up its nigh impossible to get him to stop doing it

he has very minimal tactile sensation so its hard to get him to feel something. bc of this he doesnt realize when the stray cats in his yard are snacking on him

its simple, its safe, u know i love traditional wear. did not expect the bow but am not against it. 7/10.

2. My little baby, off to destroy people

looks traditional yet modern at the same time, its a good look. points for the signature Uchiha High Collar™. also is that a water bottle? nice, stay hydrated for flawless skin, hair, + nails. 9/10.

3. Bro, We Are Teens

kinda like that one sasuke shippuden outfit but with better colors. i like the short sleeves that show off his limp noodle arms, and the bow (throwback to fetus days?) - but idk how i feel about the strange split hemline. would look better if it was just… idk not parting like that??? 7/10. the bow resurfaces! very close to the previous outfit but points for the normal hemline and wrist bandages. 8/10.

this is p much the same as My little baby, off to destroy people but im sad that he ditched the wide belt. (which either was, or looked like an obi. rly maintained the traditional-but-modern vibe.) plus it would accentuate his waistline better smh. 8/10, but only because he added the gloves. i love gloves. otherwise, 7/10.

where to even begin. my biggest question is where tf are the straps? ropes? anything? holding that chest piece up??? the color is boring too, u have been so good with monochrome color blocking so far but the armour rly needs to Not be grey (esp since we Know u can do better w the red). on the bright side, the signature mantle is saving this whole look because double tassets sans the middle panel is a Risky move since it kinda weirdly frames the crotch area? case in point, doesnt it just look, idk too empty? at first i was like, maybe a hemline would fix it, but on second thought, that seems a bit weird too - i cant think of anything besides a mantle breaking up the space effectively so congratulations on making it work i guess. 6/10.

bonus: headband doesnt suit his character but it does look adorable on. have a better pic from the manga.

ok everyone knos how this one looks so i just picked a CUTE display pic. triple  tassets and shoulder pieces r a good addition. out with the grey, in with the blood red, thank u!!! a bold break from the usual emo color palette. objectively a solid look, 9/10. (personally tho, 7/10 cuz once my sister said founder trio kinda look like lobsters and i haven’t been able to Unsee. its fair tho, i guess the armor does look… vaguely,. crustacean-y ㅠㅠ also i miss the wide sleeves and uchiha collar. uchiha collar is gr8 bc it both conceals,,, and reveals,, like head on, the high neckline covers, but from an upwards angle,, its like looking into a bowl or smth… collarbones on display, aaaaaaaa)

one of my fave aspects of this show is that after a few eps, despite them all having the same face, it becomes VERY EASY to tell them apart haha this is part of why the character writing is so strong imo!

but here’s a few tips and tricks to look for just in case you cant tell right away!

if theyre all wearing matching outfits you can look at their hair shinies bc they’ll usually be their color when nothing else is! (tho those are a bit more subtle in coloring bc ..well..shinies haha)

He often dresses as animals, and is used as an “attack dog” to torture whichever brother he’s commanded to (usually oso). A very unpredictable boy to say the least. Its hard to imagine an ooc version of him bc there isnt much he would not do or say.HE IS MY FAVE BEST SUNSHINE BOY

neutral expression: 8Dvoice: lowest pitch of the bros but also the loudest, often making weird/nonsensical sounds/noises such as: BBBBOEHBA!! 8Dquirks: - often goes cross eyed - is incredibly strong, can lift and throw his adult brothers like nbd - never has eye shinies in the anime unless he’s about to cry - wears shorts when everyone else is wearing pants, also some times wears a traffic cone on his head- wiggly arms and sleeves too long (even when its not the hoodie, usually his sleeves are always too long haha)- only one hair sticking out on the top of his head

the designated darkmatsu, ichi is the slow moving, constantly slouching, quietest boy who thinks cats are way better than people. the least motivated matsu, even going out to do fun things (like drinking or gambling) is some times too much trouble. for him a good time is laying on the floor and thinking about death (and also cats). a fan of torture, if the situation calls for causing trauma he’s suddenly very talkative and plays w his voice a lot. he is the second brother (after my boy jyushi) that is often called upon when one of the other brothers (or anyone) needs to be tortured. i love this boy and he is good to my fave boy god bless suujimatsu

the resident brother mom and a total idol otaku, choromatsu isnt concerned w much else besides his idol obsession and proving he’s way more responsible than his brothers. he often walks todomatsu to the bathroom at night and waits for him to finish since youngest bro is scared of the dark (reminder theyre both grown men in their 20′s). he thinks he’s better suited to be the oldest brother and leader rather than osomatsu and even points it out once, with agreements from both todomatsu and ichimatsu.if anything crazy happens choro is the first to scream about it not being ok. he’s got the strongest will of all the brothers and can never be persuaded to change his mind about a situation. he’s not a fighter at all and usually chooses to stay on the sidelines even if he agrees w whatever the bros are fighting about (killing god for instance).he’s under constant stress bc he’s pretending to do his best while his brothers are terrible i love him give this poor green man a vacation

 FINALLY these are finished here’s a bunch of backstory about my favorite shitty girl

1. How does your character think of their father? What do they hate and love about him? What influence - literal or imagined - did the father have?

she kinda idolized the guy tbh. she saw him as an ideal to aspire to, someone who was a hero and lived an exciting life, and ultimately he was more of a symbol than an actual person that she remembered (he disappeared when she was 8). he represented freedom & excitement that she didn’t have in her life, and later on what it meant to be a “hero” (alongside mara). the idea of him influenced her path in life a lot, even if she probably would have fucked off to travel around anyway. 

2. Their mother? How do they think of her? What do they hate? Love? What influence - literal or imagined - did the mother have?

it’s…. complicated. she loves her mom a lot, her mom is her favorite (living) family member, but their relationship is sort of muddied by ilde being the Family Disappointment™ (and fucking off at the age of 16 to be an adventurer) and the kind of weird relationship that her dad has to the family (bc she looks a lot like her father and is a lot like him). so. it’s weird. they’re very distant now.

3. Brothers, sisters? Who do they like? Why? What do they despise about their siblings?

She has an older half-sister, who is about 6 years older than her, named Ada. i’d characterize their relationship as… distant? more than anything else? they’re just far apart in age and in personality that they grew apart as they grew older, although when they were younger ilde was a pain in ada’s ass, very loud and always wanting to play. 

at the end of the day though, ilde’s also a little jealous of her sister because she’s everything she couldn’t be– she’s smarter and more responsible and always seems like she’s figured everything out and has found her place in the work. ilde doesn’t regret her life decisions but she know that they made her the black sheep of the family, so sometimes she’s jealous that ada just seems to fit into that life so well.

4. What type of discipline was your character subjected to at home? Strict? Lenient?

i think her mom erred on the more lenient side, trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, or save that try to approach the situation by talking it out rather than going straight to punishment. she probably couldn’t keep it up all the time though, ilde was a troublemaker

5. Were they overprotected as a child? Sheltered?

not really? she had a normal family who took care of her but she wasn’t overprotected by any means

6. Did they feel rejection or affection as a child?

a weird mix of the two, and probably not on purpose. her family loved her and cared for her (ada will always say that ilde was mom’s favorite) but ilde, physically and personality-wise, is just a little to reminiscent of her father. this meant her mother treated her with a little more leniency, but her sister and her grandmother saw her father in a much less favorable light (that he abandoned the family or that he was too reckless and a bad example), and through either being compared to him or them obviously not looking highly on his chosen profession (which ilde idolized) she felt somewhat rejected. she just felt like she couldn’t fit their vision of what they wanted her to be, basically.

7. What was the economic status of their family?

they’re middle class, they own a small cobbling business.

8. How does your character feel about religion?

she didn’t like it when she was younger (her family worshipped waukeen but in a very ‘goes to church on sunday’ kind of thing, so ilde just saw religion as just a thing that she was supposed to do and therefore boring and annoying), but she’s grown to respect those who practice religion (hanging out with a paladin for like 3 years will do that to you) although she doesn’t want to have anything to do with it herself. she doesnt want anyone telling her want to do or believe.

9. What about political beliefs?

street-smart, not very book-smart but that’s a good amount due to a) not liking school as an institution because it’s boring and she’s bad at it so why bother, and b) i think she has a learning disability of some sort, probably dyscalculia or dyslexia which made school difficult for her and thus she figured it wasn’t for her and kind of gave up on it

11. How do they see themselves: as smart, as intelligent, uneducated?

she sees herself as smart when it comes to life skills and street smarts, and sees herself as dumb when it comes to traditionally academic spheres

i don’t think she comes across as very educated– she’s very crass and generally doesn’t use a lot of complex vocabulary, and her speech in general tends to be very informal. she probably also has a bit of an accent that reflects where she’s from

she hated all of it. too many rules and too much structure, and as a result she got in trouble a lot. she also didn’t have a lot of close friends and ended up getting into fights with other kids

i dont think her school had much of that? and if it did i don’t think she’d be interested in much of it.

she’s the equivalent of a high school drop out

she’s an “adventurer” which really is just a fancy word for doing odd and dangerous jobs for not as much money as she should be making. it’s tough work and it’s never as stable or safe or as glory-filled as she’d imagined. she wouldn’t have it any other way though– nothing else affords her the same amount of freedom. also in other jobs you dont get to hit stuff w/ an axe as much? what’s even the point then

17. Did they travel? Where? Why? When?

yes, everywhere she can, because staying in one place too long is boring and she needs to keep looking for work. she’s still traveling now, really

18. What did they find abroad, and what did they remember?

a great mentor, new skills, a cool ass axe, and a sense of like... personal responsibility. she remembers what she learned from mara, both the practical skills and the lessons that she didn’t even know she was learning. she remembers bandits and monsters and getting cheated out of money and the feeling of pride in a finishing blow. she remembers seeing mara die and thinking “was it like this for dad, too?”

19. What were your character’s deepest disillusions? In life? What are they now?

the adventuring life isn’t everything she thought it’d be. it’s kind of thankless, and kind of lonely, and there’s not as much glory in it as one would expect. this doesn’t mean she wont brag about her life like it’s actually really cool tho

20. What were the most deeply impressive political or social, national or international, events that they experienced?

discovery of the other continent, but that’s about it

21. What are your character’s manners like? What is their type of hero? Whom do they hate?

she’s, uh, kind of an asshole tbh? or at least she can be very rude and crass and really doesn’t care about manners all that much. as for heroes, she thinks a true hero is someone who is willing to give up everything, including their life, for other people. sort of by extension, she hates cowards and people who hurt the innocent. the worst type of people are a mix of those two.

22. Who are their friends? Lovers? ‘Type’ or ‘ideal’ partner?

she doesn’t have many friends, and most of the friends that she does have are friends of circumstance rather than long-lasting relationships. her closest friendship was with mara, but that was also very much a mentorship and born partially out of the benefits of having a traveling partner (and ilde having a bit of a crush) right now though, she’d consider her squad and some of the pirates and prisoners to be sort of friends.

she doesn’t have any lovers lol, but her type tends to be “cute girls who could probably kick her ass”

23. What do they want from a partner? What do they think and feel of sex?

i think she wants someone who could match her & challenge her, push her to be better but also not make her settle down or give up her freedom. really, she wants a romantic AND traveling partner. as for sex, it’s something she enjoys but she’s kinda shy around girls unless she’s drunk so it’s not something she’s having a lot of lol

not many? if she’s in a social group she’s usual a part of one because they’re all on the same job (or, as w/ this campaign, all thrown into the same bad situation). in which case she likes to take charge and drive the group forward, even if she’s not the technical leader, although she often just ends up being the fighty one who’s maybe a leader in battle but not in the rest of the mission (or not in a meaningful way)

25. What are their hobbies and interests?

26. What does your character’s home look like? Personal taste? Clothing? Hair? Appearance?

the closest thing she has to home is her family’s shop, which i think of as being very cozy and well-maintained. her room is probably kind of sparse but messy when she stays there. 

as for personal taste, i don’t think she’s very aesthetics-oriented in general, and will go for usefulness over looking good, although she’ll make an exception for anything that looks badass or has the color red in it. she’s currently wearing her pirate’s uniform with the sleeves ripped off, along with her armor. she has long red hair that she usually keeps up in some sort of bun, or in a braid or braids in her downtime. she is short and stocky, with pale skin and freckles, large brown eyes and a strong jaw. i rolled for it an apparently she’s pretty hot too, although i don’t think she puts much work into her appearance beyond the basics.

27. How do they relate to their appearance? How do they wear their clothing? Style? Quality?

her relationship to clothing is very pragmatic, but she likes anything that will carry across the notion that she’s cool and badass and not to be messed with. she wears her clothing in whatever way is most comfortable, and goes for comfort and quality over anything else.

she is very single rn (altho she thinks lionheart is cute)

a very bad mix of pride and recklessness. she’s incredibly prideful and doesn’t want to ever ask for help and it’s gotten her in trouble before. mix that with a propensity to not think very much before she acts (although she’s gotten better about that as she’s gotten older) and it’s a recipe for disaster and also lying to her mom too much

30. Are they holding on to something in the past? Can he or she forgive?

kind of; she’s still holding onto her father and mara’s death, but not really in the sense of holding onto a grudge, more in the sense of holding onto those memories because she admires them, and especially with mara wants to follow in her example to honor her memory. so her holding onto the past grounds her with some ideals and morals, especially about sacrifice and what it means to be a hero

31. Does your character have children? How do they feel about their parental role? About the children? How do the children relate?

she has no kids and doesn’t want any

very aggressively, put her in a stressful situation and her first reaction is to fight back, either verbally or physically

yeah a general feeling of anger is pretty common, right now mostly directed at someone i can’t talk about because spoilers, but she’s dealing with it. she chopped of a worm’s head so she cooled down a little, even if so and so is still a fucking coward

unless they’re particularly spectacular failures she just tries to move on from any mistakes she makes and not linger on them too long. her first instinct usually isn’t to blame herself tho

she doesn’t like to suffer, but she thinks that all of the struggles (physical or emotional) that she’s had to go through have made her stronger, so she’s okay with having gone through them. she doesn’t like seeing innocents or friends suffer but if it’s the person/thing she’s fighting it’s fine. she’s not going to draw out anyone’s suffering though.

37. How is your character’s imagination? Daydreaming a lot? Worried most of the time? Living in memories?

she tends to live in the present and focus on dealing with current problems rather than be off in her own world, although that’s more of a result of her growing up than anything. when she was younger, she was constantly dreaming about being an adventurer.

a weird mix of suspicious and enthusiastic? like, she’s constantly seeking out new experiences but at the same time she’s been doing this shit long enough to be aware of potential danger and ready to fight it.

oh so much. SO much. she generally likes to ridicule people she doesn’t like, especially people who take themselves too seriously or who are very uptight

she definitely has a sense of humor but it’s kind of a mean one-- she tends to laugh at other people’s embarrassments and fuck ups

she’s gained a bit of this as she’s grown older. she’s not terribly introspective but she’s gained a better sense of her own strengths and weaknesses and is at least able to reflect back on her younger self with something resembling self-criticism

she wants freedom, hands down. it’s not a very tangible “want” but it’s the thing that drives most of her decisions-- it’s the reason she rebelled so much as a kid, the reason she left home, the reason she continues to travel and take odd jobs to make ends meet, the reason she want so badly to get off these islands. she’s will to cut ties and even hurt others if necessary.

43. Does your character have any secrets? If so, are they holding them back?

not to the people around her, but she’s been exaggerating how cool/exciting/good her life is to her family for a while because she’s a prideful shit who can’t admit when she’s wrong, and it keeps her from having a closer relationship w/ her family and a stronger support system. (i don’t think she went home right after mara died because of this and just dealt with it by herself because she couldnt bring herself to tell her family ‘oh this life kinda sucks sometimes,’ and she only ever goes home when she’s doing well for herself)

44. How badly do they want to obtain their life objectives? How do they pursue them?

she’s a girl of action-- she wanted to be an adventurer so she became one, even not being super prepared for what it would be like at all. she tends to jump in head-first into things

she’s grown more pragmatic as she’s grown up, but she’s fundamentally very action-oriented and puts her heart into what she’s doing. she was very irresponsible as a kid but has grown more responsible w/ age.

she’s tall for a dwarf (like 4′11″) but short overall, her body type is pretty broad/stocky and muscular. she has pretty decent posture but it’s only because her grandmother was strict about it– she doesn’t care about her posture much but she tends to fall back into good posture. as for her body, she’s very proud of it! the way she sees it, her body is a weapon that she put a lot of work into honing and mastering, and her muscles and her scars are the result of that hard work, so why not be proud of them?

depends on her mood. all of her movements tend to have a lot of weight to them, and her movements are either v energetic or v relaxed

uhh kind of on the lower side (somewhat deliberate bc it gives off an air of her being confident and serious or some shit), and she tends to be kinda loud. she talks very casually so she doesn’t care if sometimes her words run together a little. she speaks like she wants to be heard and get her point across. she probably has a light accent that one would probably recognize as being from Drag’t, and vaguely dwarvish (bc that’s probably her actual first language and one she spoke at home a lot)

a general expression of “don’t fuck with me”
