Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

LOST: Season One

#lost #abc lost #lost one cap per ep #this was a project i was gonna do anyways but the timing worked out that i could post the first one on the 20th anniversary!#this is one cap per ep every season. from left to right. and this is important: its not a cap that sums up each ep #its a cap that REPRESENTS each ep. the way i choose them varies every episode #sometimes its an utterly iconic moment. sometimes it reps the theme of the ep. or it hits with a theme of the character themselves #sometimes the cap i use won't even involve the character whose centric episode it is. trust me. this makes sense #anyways i'll give a good example: for outlaws i was so tempted to use a shot of the judgemental soulful gaze of the boar #or perhaps sawyer in the rain after he shot that man #but! i used that shot of sawyer's dads legs as sawyer is hiding under the bed. i feel it worthy because this moment. this scene #is literally a core part of sawyer. it's a defining moment of his backstory. of his character. so yeah. makes sense yeah?#anyways some eps had Too Much going on (lord i could make one of these for exodus part 1 alone) and some not enough #or well they DID but like lacked in caps that Hit in the way im thinking. thank heavens charlie shot ethan cuz i was worried about that ep #i was like ''aw shit what am i gonna use'' and then an iconic lost moment happened kjhfdsjkhfd #anyways. there are 25 eps in season one. so im really glad that the last ep contains one of the moment iconic visuals/moments in all of los #oh i should add that these caps are unedited. i did not fuck with the colours or saturation in any way #i found 'em and i pieced them together. this is harder than it sounds. i browsed through all the screencaps of every ep of season one #and i will do so the remaining five seasons #some of these were super easy like i knew what cap i'd be using before i even started (eg. do no harm. the moth. in translation)#but some took some real Thinking. and some eps even had several caps that would have worked. this has all been quite interesting #also yeah. y'all already know damn well what cap i'm using for the very last episode

I finally saw the Naruto Road to Ninja movie last night, and I gotta say, it was really good! I went in knowing it had quite a bunch of Narusaku ship tease and wacky alternate versions of the Konoha cast I knew and loved, and then got hit by surprise by all the family drama and feels.

Really I'm surprised and disappointed there's not much discussion or content related to that movie (especially among Narusaku fans, since this movie is an obvious goldmine!), but maybe I'm just coming to this topic years late and missed it.

#naruto #narusaku #the way this movie contrasted naruto and sakura's family situations just to then flip and/or parallel them was SO GOOD #and the way they got virtually identical scenes of just... walking through konoha witnessing parents & childs while they were ALONE?#with sakura's scene used to explicitly make her realize that damn. naruto has had to live with that his entire life?#idk if i can properly express my thoughts but. it just feels like this movie did a great job...#of interweaving narusaku's friendship and their different experiences with the family drama and how that changed in alt konoha #like. those could have been two entirely separate plotlines. but they weren't. they connected and entangled together #and it was beautiful

allow me to provide Over Explanation for this supposedly simple yes/no answer. technically, yes! however

the au is structured into four main chunks - Acts, if you will. we've got Act One, which is the story i've shared bits and pieces of with you all. it's the main body of the au, the "in the dark" part. the Only romantic relationship progression / development (beyond little blink-and-you'll-miss-it hints) is FranklyDear.

Act Two begins with Sally waking up, and there's a whole... thing for that, where everything falls apart in an entirely new and way more sad way! Act Three and Four are the "aftermath" of the au - in a sense.

like - if i were to write a fic, the main one would be Act One + (maybe) Two, though that one might need it's own - shorter - fic. then Act Four would be the immediate squeakual. Act Three could be just an extra fun addition, cause it wouldn't be strictly necessary or overtly Vital due to Act Four's needs. it's more of a... uh... ~Behind the Scenes~ thing.

ALL THIS TO SAY! Popstar would become a thing either in Act Two or Act Three, but Laughingstock would solidify well into Act Four.

#minor unicorn overlord spoilers #somehow the ''owl single mom and her adopted children (1 lion 1 human)'' is the healthiest most normal family unit in the game #my quest to unlock as many rapport convos as I can before I get bored got put on hold bc I decided to see if I could salvage half my units #(I've been using like maybe 5 units total at any given time; they are all significantly overlevelled)#(I will probably keep using those same 5 units but I wanted to see if I could make any more usable units and grind them via aux. battles)#BUT HOT DAMN NONE OF THESE CHARACTERS--save Ramona and her family as mentioned previously--ARE OKAY #also love that there's basically an ''eldest sibling club to commiserate'' going on between all the eldest sibling characters #Berengaria Magellen Hilda and Morard are all shaking hands nodding offering support to each other #Rosalinde and Aramis weren't invited bc Rosalinde's having too much fun doing whatever she feels like and Aramis is busy being Aramis #anyhow I've said it before I'll say it again I am rattling these characters like maracas they are SO good #I'm gonna experiment with units for a couple more battles and then it's back to the tavern to figure out how to obtain the rest of the RCs #oracle of lore

if you’ve ever “wondered” why i get on such a soapbox about industry sexism, consider that my entire career in that field which was not short i never had any creative or higher-ranking positions that paid well, because every time i advocated for/applied for one they gave it to a man over me, and in more than one instance it was the man i literally mentored. so.

#shock horror. i am not asking for a friend #turns out going to uni bc you had no idea what else to do + taking a course you’re mostly interested in bc you like space #is not necessarily a good idea. who would have thought #see the thing is if this didn’t cost money i wouldn’t be so worried. but i don’t want to keep having this breakdown and eventually drop out #in like a year’s time with twice the amount of debt or whatever #rn now i keep looking on indeed like hmm. i could totally drive trains that would be an amazing idea. driving a milk float!! so slay!!#bc i realised shortly after getting here that i do not want to do a phd which basically rules out any astrophysics jobs #my mum suggested looking at summer placements but quite frankly i need to get a job over summer if i stick with my degree bc i am ✨broke✨#rn i’m saying shit like oh i’ll just write a book and get it published. totally feasible way to make some quick cash (delusional)(knows it)#november has been hell i do not have a draft let alone a book #and i’m tired and i haven’t had a proper meal since thursday and my room is a tip #i‘ve had like three conversations with my friends in the past fortnight and none of them lasted longer than five minutes #i was so fucking excited for uni!! it was going to be so good!! i feel bad for wanting to drop out bc i don’t hate it!!#i just don’t really like it either #god fucking damn it. this shit is worse than a sexuality crisis. at least they had zero real world impact bc i was an antisocial fucker #this is the rest of my fucking life!! the hell!!
