but hey, that promised bingge pov post! (full disclosure i am writing this before ive written the sqh scene so some info may be repeated!)

binghe was aware of sy’s nature from the very beginning. he knew it was demonic, but meng mo was the one who let him know about the concept of demon dolls and how theyre created. when he chose sy for qing jing, he was fully convinced it was actually a demon doll with sqq’s exact soul/copy and wanted to get ahead of whatever revenge he and/or yqy may be planning.

meng mo also told him that since sqq’s been dead yqy had probably used his own soul to help ‘create’ sy so both of them were hesitant to use their dream manipulation incase it let yqy know something was up since they could be spiritually linked and lbh’s half demon status was unknown plus he’d be the first person yqy would want to blame. while he wouldnt use dream manipulation since it was spiritual based, he would use the blood parasites as insurance since it was fully physical.

upon meeting sy, he began to have doubts about whether it was sqq’s soul. hence the fungi mission. he used that mission to judge just how human or demonic sy’s body is and also gauge his reaction to not being affected by the spores if his body was demonic to tell how “in the know” he was. when sy was genuinely confused and just accepted whatever explanation lbh gave him, he concluded sy knew absolutely nothing at all and shifted his focus to actually making sy care for him.

his confrontation with yqy after the fungi mission was basically yqy and lbh trying to psych each other out about how much the other knew. it ended with lbh implying he knew what was up, that he could reveal yqy for colluding with demonic cultivators and/or demons, and that he wouldnt let sy get found out unless yqy does some shit bc hey, thats his disciple. so up until now (chapter whatever this is linked on) they’ve operated under a strained truce that yqy stays away from sy and lbh wont reveal them.

for lbh getting close with sy was just a fun little side project. after all, a little sqq who adored him more than anything in the world? sqq would be seething and rolling in his grave. it doesnt hurt that sy was so earnest and cute either and him being on the peak made nyy happy so he was fine with getting some revenge like that.

in the fic’s og pidw, this grows into lbh desperately craving affection and validation from the kid who looks so much like his shizun who withheld it. he’ll grow codependent with sy, but the relationship stays very much master/disciple. on some level he’s aware that though sy does genuinely care for and admire him, hes playing out a role to receive lbh’s protection.

but in the fic our sy, earnest and naive, found the jade pendent.

this is bingge, two decades removed from the abuse he suffered. he’s had two decades to get stronger, to realize the world bends to his whims. to realize no matter where he goes he’ll have women falling over themselves to get into his bed but none of them will ever truly love him and what they give him is shallow. to realize he’ll have men envying him and wishing him harm just for being better. this bingge doesn’t have mobei-jun or any wives to share even the illusion of closeness or companionship with. he has nyy yet she’s been relishing in her role as da-shijie and hes happy for her truly, but he’s been alone in the bamboo house for 20 years.

when bingge meets sy!sqq in svsss who shows him just two days worth of normal domestic kindness, he immediately wants to leave with him. so how would our bingge feel with our sy, who he’s had unrestricted access to for 2 years, who holds genuine affection for him with no ulterior motive, who admires him openly and unashamedly, when he returns the very symbol of his happiness and the last bit of true love hes ever felt?

this fake sqq, this flawed copy of the man who tormented him, gave him back this fake pendant that he held most dear, that he lost hope of ever getting back again.

was that not symbolic? did that not make shen yuan his as well? did that not make shen yuan another symbol of love for him? did shen yuan not hand himself over to binghe when he handed over the pendant?

he begins objectifying sy almost. this was his person. obviously if sy was defective for yqy’s purposes, then wouldnt it make sense for sy to have been made just for lbh? after all, who else could cherish and protect sy like he could? yqy let him out of his sight long enough for him to becomes lbh’s so he wasnt fit. sy cant look after himself. only luo binghe could.

the mission he took just after sy’s 16th birthday was to track down the demon clan responsible for sy’s creation and learn more about it to see if he could sever and/or work around yqy’s connection. as soon as he learned everything, he returned and used dream manipulation (after he figured out it was safe) to walk through sy’s memories like svsss bingge did to sqq. he realizes sy’s memories are gone, he and meng mo conclude it was probably an error in the connection to body and soul bc of the nature of demon puppets. but hey, a wins a win. sy has no affection for yqy and the fact sy is loyal to only lbh remains unchanged.

speaking of, he should probably make sy his head disciple officially so yqy cant make any accusations about lbh’s inappropriate closeness to his disciple, no matter how true they are.

Im north Indian with a little spanish in me shifting to NY actually but yea the indian dc fanfic community is smaller. I love the idea of a traditional indian s/o with Jason particularly. doesnt want to go. Really thinks your family wont like him and they probably wont the first time they meet him. Will still wear his leather jacket but at least he wore a white shirt and clean jeans? He even agreed to take the car rather then the bike. Will stop complaining the moment he sees you in your element. Like goddess pro max what even , so ethereal ,the world is shaking . Staring dialed up to 100/10 . plus his complaining was never serious to start with. He wants you to have a family, be connected to your background,. Its just one of the things that make you you and he wont change a single hair on you. Will probably get insecure ( I get set up or marriage proposal talks when I go to family functions - just indian girl things I hate it tbh. And I've noticed its a thing in a lot of cultures) because he'll think that you deserve that traditional life with people who 'get you" but no one will ever get you the way he does and you just need to remind him of that. He is a bit broody , tall and just kind of sticks by you . The men and boys of the group are probably fascinated by him so as the night goes he starts getting more comfortable around them. The kids lowkey like him a lot so its cute and you may get baby fever. And the older women of the group are poking at him( why the jacket? whats with that scar) and you'll have to rescue him. He'll do it all over for you though.

Tim drake-

time to put on that practiced facade. He is used to putting on a fake winning smile at those galas so imagine his surprise when his old tricks don't work at your family function. Personal space? privacy?? fake formalities?? don't exist. Bonus points if it isn't a fake rich family. But he gets to see you In a pretty clothes and he is simping, teasing you on how you look like a real girl now(but he lowkey prefers you in the geeky shirts you guys share) . he did research so like ask him the They are still very impressed by your respectful young man ( who is super rich and smart). He gets by tbh, a bit shy because he is just so not used to all this. But keep him near you, show him how to dance properly and get a few drinks in him and its a party. He loves it, your family loves him and your cousins are now his besties (don't ask when that happened). He loves having a family and it just leaves him with wonder. He is in awe of this and so grateful that you let him into your life.

Bruce wayne

does a lot of research . He knows exactly how to act, what to say and what to do. A bit cold and aloof . Still surprised by the whole chaos . But unlike tim he keeps his cool. your family is impressed by you "bagging" the rich billionaire boyfriend. If this is batman with robins ver then they are worried about the huge amount of kids he adopted and what that means for you. So uh..just mention the billion again? They ask really personal questions but bruce prepared and is so ready for it. He loves seeing you in your traditional clothes, probably encourages you to wear them casually too. As if anyone can stop you, go to galas in traditional clothes or just wear home traditional in the mansion. Over all he loves getting a peak into your life and what experiences shaped you to be the woman he loves so dearly now.

If there's anything offensive about this let me know and I will change the content or even delete the whole thing. a lil concept/design sheet of the gangs' costumes for my deltarune halloween comic! :]

multiple paragraphs of yapping about it under the cut bc i actually put way too much thought into who got which costume lol

i kept a few things in mind while trying to decide each character's costume, the biggest of which were probably A) it should still look good when combined with their dark world outfit B) i wanted them all to be classic halloween monsters (so no other characters like mario or minecraft steve or w/e) C) none of them could dress as a monster who is another major character in ut/dr just cuz i thought it'd be a little weird lol (so no skeletons or ghosts for example) and D) i tried to keep in mind each character's family life/accessibility to a costume in the first place (so kris + noelle have the more elaborate costumes vs berdly and susie having theirs be more low effort/over their normal clothes)

originally i had sketched susie as a zombie/frankenstein sorta creature, but then i remembered susie calling kris the 'school zombie' (plus kris's general zombie-like neutrality) so i ofc switched that over to kris. had the idea that the dark world would make their halloween costumes more 'real' so thats why their brain is out in that one lol

didn't have too many other ideas for susie, as a lot of the ones i was having broke some of the rules i listed above. at first i was thinking maybe werewolf but i felt that the ears/tail might lean a little too cutesy for her, and then i was thinking maybe like godzilla-esque but didn't know how to do that when susie is already vaguley godzilla-esque by herself. i also wanted to keep her costume looking more low-effort due to her parents (if they even exist) probably not caring enough to get a nice costume. which is how we ended up at toilet paper mummy susie

noelle is a witch because i thought it'd be cute + i wanted her to be matching with catti (who i think would also obviously be a witch for halloween). her costume is the most elaborate (complete with matching candy pail), both because i think she'd like dressing up for halloween and well. the mayor's daughter certainly has appearances to keep up doesnt she? (also quite proud of her little shawl changing to look sort of like angel wings in the dark world :] )

berdly i also struggled with. my first impulse was to make him some kinda video game character, but like i said i kind of wanted them all to be more classic halloween monsters, plus i didn't really think any of those ideas would mesh well with his dark world outfit. ended up going with vampire bc i feel like its one of the more nerd-coded halloween monsters out there. i liked drawing his little fake fangs it makes him look silly

So overall I do love the new Superman suit. A couple of things though. Then a whole analysis of what I liked lol.

I was never a fan of the high collar look though but it doesn’t ruin it for me. Im just glad it doesnt look as military as it does in the New 52 comic look. I always preferred the wider and open collar because it seems more relaxed and less like a uniform if that makes sense.

But yeah I’m not pissed about it either since it flows with the overall design at least and the cape attachment isn’t as clumsy as a design like this could make it. And I’m just relieved it’s not a crew neck like Routh and Hoechlin had. That’s the worst Superman neckline imo.

It is kinda bulky but I’m also glad it’s not a weird muscle suit. I hate the fake abs look with a passion so I’m glad it doesn’t have that. I do hope onscreen the bulk/bagginess isnt as visible.

Some of the suit lining like on the shoulders and knee pads add to the chunkiness. But again maybe thats not as obvious onscreen.

But the good of the suit does outweigh these things to me. It’s actually brightly colored, has trunks, even has the yellow symbol on the cape, and the design is mostly simple. I hate when they overcomplicate. Staying basic is best with superhero suits.

Like I will take a little bit of bulk any day over the Snyder suit’s weird scaly look. Like yes, it was more fitted which is a plus but the scaliness plus the fake abs, puffy chest, and dick cup thing just nope. Along with the muddy ass colors just nope.

I’m pro trunks cuz I’m sorry but lack of the red in between just makes throws off the look for me. Maybe its a color theory thing but the suit being all blue is just off putting. I have yet to see a belt that fixed that problem.

The only time I’ve seen a full blue suit work with the belt was the CW Supergirl show, her second suit which is saying a lot cuz CW suits arent great. Though I do think a woman’s physique does make a difference in how the full blue can look better. The waist to hip ratio difference helps add some dimension plus matching her belt color to her cape clasps. ie:

(I actually fucking hate the cape clasps like how Hoechlin’s first suit had but here they actually made it look ok because of the smaller size and matching them to the belt)

Anyway trunks also take care of hiding that dick. (Sidenote I love that Martha Kent in both MAWS and Lois&Clark: TNAOS are concerned about that 🤣)

I also like how the trunks and belt are connected and again how simple that design is.

The symbol is really nice too. I’m don’t know much about Kingdom Come but it’s ok design. I prefer the traditional but they made this one look really pretty with the yellow outline on the front side and the full yellow symbol on the cape so it’s a yes for me.

Also happy with the size of the symbol on the chest. It’s not oversized like Cain’s was, nor is it way too small like Routh’s. It’s right with Reeve and Cavill being perfectly proportionate to their bodies and suits. (I mainly mean Cavill’s first suit. The second wasnt bad either but they def shrinked it and I don’t get why since that was the one thing I was pleased with his suit about)

The red boots are perfect. Nuff said there.

With the cape length, I love the long look but anything at the knee or longer is good (Reeve’s was at the knee). Anything shorter than the knees look weird to me like a kid’s costume.

yknow ive been thinking again lately about how i would like to see more realism in batman content, both canon and fandom, but not the Dark And Gritty kind. the kind thats like.

yes actually he is highly emotionally intelligent and does understand himself quite well and has just accepted that he is A Freak and decided to roll with it rather than being so horrifically emotionally repressed that he can barely even acknowledge that what hes doing is based in trauma. hes been in therapy since he was like 9 years old. he studies human psychology extensively both for himself and so he has better odds of predicting whats gonna go wrong and how when hes up against a rogue or negotiating a hostage situation or whatever. he meditates for two hours a day and is fully capable of keeping a healthy handle on his anger 98% of the time. he's nice to people and fun to be around and sincerely caring. if he were just Always Right but super isolated and reactive and cruel and controlling everyone would fucking hate him and no it wouldnt be enough to sustain his crimefighting activities, thats a stupid lone wolf fuckboy fantasy

he has a strict 9pm bedtime that he only breaks for mandatory WE/brucie activities or emergencies. if theres a gala where he needs to rub shoulders with ppl to gather intel or keep his company running he'll do it but hes Not Happy about being out until midnight and cuts out early as often as possible, and when hes chasing the joker around until 3am hes lamenting his poor sweet circadian rhythm that did nothing wrong ever in its life the whole time. when hes batmanning hes expending a fuckton of energy and he needs to make it up and have a well-established routine to counteract the punishment hes putting his body through. on a similar note, this man is building braces and compression into his suit and doing extensive physical therapy exercises every day of his life bc he wants to have helpful little things like "knees" and "shoulders" by the time hes 40, and hes probably eating a small farms worth of assorted leafy greens and several chickens per day

he is simply Never drunk and he doesnt actually have that much sex. hes really really good at faking a) being drunk and b) getting a high priority phone call from lucius the minute someone hes making out with starts trying to get his shirt off. he also does a lot of "hey look i gotta get out of here with my reputation intact, can we help each other out and pretend we're gonna go fuck?" kind of negotiating with ppl (see: his 9pm bedtime, plus sometimes hes gotta slip away from an event to be sneaky), which is how a lot of the more wild stories about him start circulating lol. this is a man who's regularly getting gassed/injected/etc with highly experimental substances created by maniacs trying to torment or kill him, he does NOT want substances like drugs or alcohol in his body that could potentially interact with them, and the last thing he needs is to be dealing with a pregnancy or sti scare. plus if he can play it safe with someone and have them think of him as a nice and trustworthy dude who just has a bonkers reputation, all the better for his batman activities!

idk i just feel like theres unexplored potential in a lot of that stuff bc so much of recent batman mythos is like HES SO HARDCORE AND CAN DO ANYTHING AND HES ALWAYS RIGHT CAUSE HES SO PARANOID AND DISRESPECTFUL OF PPL AND THEIR BOUNDARIES BUT ITS OKAY BC ITS IN THE NAME OF BEING RIGHT and im like. okay. gotta admit that i dont rly find that believable or in line with my values. can we talk about WE's sweet sweet employee benefits package and bruce designing his suit to take most of the impact off his knees when he jumps off a roof. members of the jl discovering that he gives shockingly balanced and insightful advice about their mundane personal problems. bruce printing his own batsymbol envelopes to leave people cash after he misaims his grappling hook and breaks their window. things of that nature.

its a complicated situation and theres a rat-king tangle of emotions she doesn’t want to even begin to parse through knotting in her chest and stomach after the carnival w Mason and what she overhears from him back at the warehouse. she didn’t particularly DESIRE to kiss Bobby (but the girl lying in bed w her cat and 18 kirbies cackling evilly and choosing whatever’s funniest did shh) but they have a history and hes easy and she has steam to blow off and destructive habits to engage and the devil you know, you know. if there’s one thing about Deva she does not let things go and she will get even after taking the slightest hit to her ego, as shitty as that sounds 😭 zero emotional regulation . so yeah she initiates the kiss 🕴️

she is meh towards bobby in general (thinks hes funny in ‘i hate my job and this nosey ass reporter i used to fw in college adds a little entertainment’ way) but doesn’t regret the kiss in terms of feeling bad with regards to mason. wildly, she went into book 3 with a good relationship with bobby (truly chaotic exes) despite being a huge bitch in book 1 to him so he did NOT bring up the kiss to mason which she had forgot all about until that point. i would say thats when it starts to weigh on her subconscious a little, an uncomfortable niggling that she suppresses with her usual vices and louder simpler thoughts and feelings. im hoping thats not the end of it and that it does get brought up again just to make her squirm hehe

7. What does your detective think of the glimpse of M’s past and their “not guilty” judgment?

dev has an eerie sixth sense for weird shit and a knack for springing into action at pivotal and intense moments, but putting effort into dissecting and finding meaning in these strange situations is not her specialty so she doesnt bother. what she sees hardly makes sense to her at that moment other than the real flesh-and-blood-not-mirror Mason is on his knees in pain so um yeah she fucking shoots the mirror LMAO. crazy ass

later when its mentioned that what was playing out was Masons past, she feels sympathetic for sure — it looked like torture and experimentation to her, plus later when she gets another piece of the puzzle that M purposefully chose to have their memories wiped, she figures thats precisely why. having something like that haunting you, especially for an eternity as a vampire, would for sure fuck you up and she’d do the same.

as for the not guilty verdict, well she barely listened to Falk 😭 but she’d believe it. even if mason went beast mode and killed everyone in that room, it looked like they deserved it to her, and she has off-kilter morals and a twisted sense of justice anyway to put it lightly (capt sung was off the shits on his 8th line of coke with jeremy fragrance and mayor friedman on the day he promoted this woman in law enforcement I can tell u that much . Had to be)

15. What is your detective’s relationship with Rebecca like? If they saw the conversation that she has with M before the end of Book 2, what would they think?

BAD!! oh so so bad. *slaps devas head* this oc can pack so many grudges and let absolutely nothing go, ever . i delve a bit away from canon with her backstory and give an extra L to rebecca to keep secret and feel guilty about — in dev’s early childhood, after rooks death but before her 7th bday, rebecca permitted the agency to wipe a memory from deva which was of an imaginary friend that actually wasn’t imaginary and in fact a supernatural 🏃‍♀️ i go into that a lot more in the fic im writing and what it does to their relationship when dev finds out so ill spare details cuz this is long as hell already.

for the talk with Mason, god im fuzzy on it atm but if i remember right becky stays in her lane 😤 thats another thing that drives dev insane, is Rebecca thinking she can suddenly just involve herself in her personal life because theyre working together now. much too little far too late. rebecca is less than a stranger to her as far as deva is concerned and she is extremely harsh and unforgiving (which if mishka doesnt, i will make come back and bite dev in the ass bc truth be told i do like Rebecca as a character hehe)

WHY THE AGGRESIVE SPY PLAYSTILE SUCKS (AND HOW TO FIX IT)

Since the release of the dead-ringer in the sniper vs spy update, the aggresive spy playstyle has been quite the sensation with spy mains.

(tryhardius spycicus trying to mate with a fictionalius waifius caught in the wild lands of doublecross)

but lately, i have seen quite the discourse when it comes to such interesting specimens. I always thought it was universally agreed that such playstyle was terrible, and that it was a terrible deviation from how spy is supposed to be played. But surprisingly, some like this playstyle. Lets break it down.

THE KUNAI:

Spy is a spy. We can all agree on that. And what does a spy do? Well, a spy can do many things, but the most important thing is that he should try his best at not getting caught, and if he gets caught, he should be punished for it. But the kunai just sorta says "fuck that, imma do my own thing"

By giving spy the health of a soldier and the movespeed of a medic, he just becomes a fucking beast. "But Hatty, spy only has 70 health when using the kunai!" well, when the kunai is paired with shit like the dead-ringer, the 70 health penalty just becomes a small annoyance. And the fact that the backstab hitboxes are kinda broken doesnt help the kunai's case. So overral, the kunai fucking sucks. But thats only like, 80% of the problem.,

THE DEAD-RINGER:

There are 2 types of weapons in TF2: poorly designed ones, and poorly balanced ones. The deadringer falls into the poorly designed ones section. Look, i get it, faking your death is cool, but in practice, its pretty overpowered. I mean, its a free get out of jail card. And when paired with the kunai, this thing becomes flat out busted. Like cmon, just running away from your problems while also having 225 health without any penalty is pretty busted.

HOW TO FIX IT

also, the deadringer is pretty simple, just make it so that you have a slower cloak regen and less damage res.

but now., lets talk about something else.,

I often call playing engineer as "roleplaying as a single mother" because you have to take care of all your sweet little angels i mean, buildings, and make sure they get some cool frags and help your team. But pybro's turn the engineer experience into "1950's american housewife roleplay". Why, you might ask? Well, maybe its because there is a pyro constantly taking care of my precious little buildings, while i do absolutely nothing outside of maybe moving my dispenser to the other side of the room so its the pyro can more easily access it. That just makes engineer a boring class. You play engi so that you can feel the rush of grabbing your buildings and saving them from those big, mean, and ugly soldiers. But then also watch your sentry get a cool ass frag on a trolldier. Do you get it? DO YOU SEE MY VISION? I WANT TO PLAY ENGINEER BECAUSE I WANT TO FEEL SOME SENSE OF ADRENALINE AND RUSH, AND ALSO PRIDE WHEN MY LITTLE SENTRY MASSACRES THE OTHER TEAM. BUT THAT MUSH MOUTHED FREAK JUST COMPLETELY REMOVES THAT, AND WHY? WHO KNOWS WHAT INHUMANE THOUGHTS LIE BEHIND THAT MASK? I WONT BE LETTING THAT PYROMANIAC ANYWHERE NEAR MY BUILDINGS. Thoughts continue on letter Вv. While learning or reading, gleaming over all definitions starting with Вв(v), all seem congruent with my high priestess card. Though some minor differences should be made to make it more compatible. Interesting how its connected to number 8 and lesser so to number 4.

The surprising thing that came to attention is letter Ы. There isn’t anywords that start with this letter. And therefor it cannot be capitalized beyond using it in reference to itself. And though all words starting with Bv can for greater or lesser for the priestess card, all words starting with Вы, mean “outter”, to out, conclusion, and finish. Though the word Вы means you. Most words starting with ВВ mean lovely and good. Though other words like Вы, Ты, Мы, all mean the subject of the phrase. Whether its us or you.

Though with my cards drawn to conclusion, including number a 8 leading to 9 and Г4 and 3B. Speaks of rescuing or protecting the girl. Its great.

Wow, К is one big letter. But, i can loosely connect it to temperance. Which falls on letter R. They look similar beyond K being more open. Я is an interesting letter. Much simpler. Connected to the egg. The ash tree, the self. To speech. Also containment. As a precursor to opening and hatching. Its also connected the lizard. And light. People calling it ai is wild, like it sounds like an anime opening? I know the lyrics can't be ai, the lyrics are too specific for that. Basically every line has a reference so even if they did ai the lyrics they'd have to go back and basically change every line to the point its basically a completely different song because they'd have to change the flow to accommodate and everything.

If they're calling the singer ai then also listen to warriors path before coming to the conclusion, the amount of range between the two songs doesnt feel like ai to me

Plus they also have a list for their band in the about, Anthony Stewart is credited as the singer and they're planning to release an album, if it was ai it'd be a lot easier to just....not give a fake credit then and not list band members, most people won't go looking for that information

And while there isn't a LOT of information about these guys (makes sense, they just started uploading music over the past like three days) They also mention in the comments of Warriors Call about paying royalties to the artist for pictures, which the art does trace back to 2014 so thats DEFINITELY not ai, though i kind of doubt they actually have the correct person it's hard to be certain with old reposted everywhere anime vibes art but at least they're trying

I've listened to a lot of metal that sounds just like this kind of song, so maybe im just more used to the eccentricities of it, but like, gives me powerwolf vibes

It's possible! I won't say it's not, but I just straight up think there's nothing that screams ai, the lyrics are good, the singing is a bit stiff at times but they are a new band, ive heard far too many singers with that kind of pop-punk accent warriors call uses to see it as an immediate red flag. If it is, then egg on my face, however calling it ai with so little information before they've even dropped their first album that they're planning to do next month seems very short sighted

Edit: The second art likely is ai generated I will admit, however, you can find dozens of similar looking ai cat pictures on free image sites, which means there's a decently high chance they just went looking for a cool free cat picture and went "oh that looks cool and we can use it!" like they did for the first song.

TLDR; I think it's too early to fully tell until they drop their album or more songs, could be, could not be, rather support an ai musician for like 15 days and have them turn out to be an ai musician then discourage a real beginner band, and at the very least the lyrics are almost certainly real

see, the issue doesnt lay on whether the eng translation is discourging it or not as both versions come to the same conclusion: its not incest because the two sombrons are different. Rather, the issue in terms of translation as i understand is that the eng version in its eagerness to over clarify the matter accidentally made it more confusing, thereby doing the opposite of what they intended.

I actually always rather like sombrons cobra design, it helps distinguish him among the villainous dragon designs and i think it suits his character in the manner that he's less about raw powering his way to victory and more prone to subtlety, manipulation and playing it smart [even if he is a powerhouse at the end of the day, and the writing of his plan doesnt always make sense]. in that manner hes a solid combo of medeus and gharnef which makes sense and works in his favour.

as for the other designs, nel and rafal are sombron lite designs that work for what their going for, and well i really wish we got to see more of lumineras dragon design what we do get to see is fairly standard but work well.

tikis is pretty obviously based on her warriors dragon form design but more fa'ish in the sense it looks more chickenish this time. which, i dont mind cause the chicken destroyers of worlds are adorable.

the generic enemy dragons ya come across are fine for what their suppose to be, though it does make me wish we had a manakete unit to play with in the base game. that woulda been cool.

joking aside, i imagine they went with the design less because of the biological nature of a king cobra and more so because of its cultural and symbolic significance. namely hypnotism which sombron uses rather prominently in the plot and which cobras are often connected with due to portrayals of snake charming. aside from that its also a very distinctive snake with its frill thing and a poisonous one.

idk anon, kaga if anything set the precedents for skirting around incest implications but in a very obvious way in fe that the series has dutifully followed to this day. deirdre and arvis are if anything more of an outlier being a very direct case of incest.

but speaking of fe4, i seriously doubt it'd get slapped with an m rating. putting aside the incest, well its a dark game its not any more explicit then any other fe in terms of content, and taking the incest into consideration even thats not particularly explicit in its depiction. it undeniably happens, but even then its a while into the game before its clarified that it did indeed occur and its treated with a tragic gravitas as opposed to being hyper sexualized.

You certainly can't win if ya go about things the way treehouse does. I dont doubt there would be discourse over these things mind, but ever since treehouse got involved in fe translations these matters have been particularly egregious. so i dont largely blame the fandom outside the bad actors.

i suppose it depends what happens with the manga adaptation, where it goes and what it might alter to fit its format. its possible we'll see them, but in a completely different context for instance.

I agree the internal story logic is confused anon, but i would note that a story need not necessarily be logical to work if the emotional appeal is there.

and in that regard fell xenologue is a mixed bag, admittedly in part because its internal consistency is kinda muddled. fighting the mirror royals, seeing and engaging with their personalities, the atmosphere, even the intellectual implications of the twist all work i would say [atleast for me they do]

but how we get to this points is underwritten, the twist doesnt quite work in implication because of the questions it rises, and the actual heart of the story going on there with nel and nil and rafal feels somewhat disconnected from its world and sloppily handled.

i would have been fine with a delay on the dlc if it gave em time to hammer out the finer details of the xenologue, but as it is... mixed bag.

GELATIN AND NAILY LOVE HORROR MOVIES Naily comes over at gelatin's house to watch them sometimes I think Btw for these upcoming answers, Nate is answering them (Im just writing out what xes saying to me) cuz I am NOT a horror person at all nor do I really watch movies... but Nate on the other hand When It comes to horror movies Naily would like the more "obscure" ones, she has some kind of fascination w them cuz usually when it comes to those theyre either pure gold or very crude but that doesnt mean she doesnt like the more popular ones as well Gelatin loves sci fi horror and also stuff thats like, 80s-90s horror films that are just shitty slashers movies there for a cash grab lmao - anything thats "so bad theyre funny" Leafy and Gelatin usually like the same things but Leafy does Not like horror movies unless theyre also comedic because most of the time he just gets bored by them in the "Its not real anyway" type of way, hes that kinda person. Plus most of them r live action which shes not a fan of Cake prefers those horror movies that are I guess more "down to earth", think of those horror movies that r like "oh group of teen girls having a sleep over" and then someone gets their asses, he just likes the vibe of those. He likes older stuff a lot more (around80s to 2000s) and he doesnt rly like cheaply produced ones, he leans towards more popular stuff. The one thing he doesnt like about some movies is excessive gore, he has a high tolarance to it cuz he can tell its fake most of the time but sometimes Its just too much ykno NOW LOSER.. Loser is the complete opposite, he's like terrified by it even If she knows It knows real but It gets her anyway - as a kid she thought they were real though which is why he doesnt like em as an adult either. She still sits down to watch them with cake cuz he acts like he can handle it but give it about 10 minutes and Loser's like shaking and clinging onto cake. The gore and jumpscares get to him more, the former making him squeamish most of the time so he tends to just Look Away or Leave or Turn That Shit Off etc. Not a big fan of horror movies My addition was that I think cake would only pretend to be scared the first one or two times they watch horror movies so he can cling onto Loser HEHEH The death pact frat house occasionally has movie nights so horror movies are a thing that come up for sure. Bottle and Pie love watching them, Pillow as well but not as much. Bottle likes the more gorey shit because - to quote nate - "Shes quirky like that". Another thought by me (Certified Pie Enjoyer) but I feel like Pie doesnt actually like horror movies in the way you would expect but she LOVES picking them apart and making fun of them which can sometimes annoy others but half the time Its rly funny so Its okay. Its her way of enjoying things. After they watch movies Bottle and Pie would def discuss the movies afterwards n Bottle takes them WAY more serious than Pie does sometimes but mostly Its just for the funsies Pen acts like he can handle it but then cant fall asleep, Tree seems calm cuz he's quiet but when you look at him he's like clutching onto a pillow for dear life HAH. One of them probably sleeps with the other that night cuz theyre both scared. I COULD GO ON AND ON BUT ITS ALREADY SO LONG I HOPE U DONT MIND ANON

Bruce: he is a recluse with his own extensive library. He buys everything he wants to read, and keeps everything organised by use, accuracy, and historical value. He has a section in the manor library for completely debunked but still funny conspiracy theories. Sometimes he goes to the public library for special events or fundraisers. Jason bullied him into getting a new card while he was robin. It has remained unused.

Alfred: knows all the libraries in the state and has access to a few that no one else knows of. Prefers the super specialized university collections and occasionally spends time reading there, when his duties permit.

Dick: used to use the school library as a hangout spot but thats about it. He reads ebooks when he's feeling it but usually has better things to do. Sometimes listens to audiobooks while working out. Has not yet figured out that he can check them out from the library, though Babs has told him like six times.

Cass: HAS figured out about the audiobooks, though she tends to get them online so she can slow down the playback speed. The librarians had to help her set up her hoopla account when she first came to town but she was so excited they all left with a smile. Likes how calm most of the library patrons are and visits often.

Jason: library nerd. Has over twelve cards for extra check-outs, one for each fake ID plus one for the public library in every new city he visits. The librarians consider him a cryptid because he's so polite but everyone knows him by a different name and he always checks out the max number of books. Can speed read, which freaks out the other patrons. Has only had to pay for a bloodstained book once, and boy did the asshole who tried to get one over on him pay three times as much in turn.

Steph: mostly uses the university libraries, sometimes to go cry over exams until the tutors notice and help her. An expert at using the online catalogue, sometimes she checks out really weird titles just to see what they're like.

Tim: used to hang out at the public library all the time, he knows the layout by heart. Often the public library doesnt have what he needs but he is well versed in the interlibrary loan process. Library staff only has good things to say about the young WE CEO. So polite, so cute, though he occasionally has late fees.

Duke: keeps going to the library to ask the librarians what books they reccommend, and thus has read a wide range of things, though sometimes he gives up halfway through. Is absolutely appalled by everyone else's library habits except Alfred. Refuses to be seen with any of them.

Damian: preferred the manor library until he discovered graphic novels, now he's read everything the local library has in print and is working his way through the ebooks. He also likes drawing, animal, and history books, though he will throw a fit if someone directs him to the kid's section. Uses Bruce's card for extra check outs. The staff thinks he's amusing during slow days and a hassle when it's busy. Everyone within earshot when he's at the desk knows exactly who he is. Kid name drops himself like whoa and it took him a while to develop an indoor voice.

Winner for most cards: jason, followed by alfred.

Winner for most checkouts: again jason, followed by steph.

Winner for most fees: tim, followed by bruce (all books he checked out as a kid and didnt return, he just paid the library off)(do not think about what life event might have caused this to come to be).

Winner for most stern looks from the librarians: damian. hands down.
