Kate asks her cousin an important question (also this is an interesting concept I learned about Bruce even if the comics will never bring it up):
Kate while reading a magazine: Bruce, you know our third cousin Linda?
Bruce, while looking through paperwork: The crazy one?
Kate: Yeah the one who hit her husband with her car. Her son's son is having a bat mitzvah this Friday, they invited us. You're going.
Bruce: I'm busy.
Kate: Oh, I'm sorry, what I said wasn't a question. It was a command, I'm not going alone.
Bruce: Why not?
Kate looking up from her magazine: I am a lesbian woman and cousin Linda will be there and has made it very clear that "Oh, it's just a phase, darling. You'll find the right man!"
Bruce: Why am I coming? I don't like her.
Kate: I'm bringing you so then she asks why you've adopted those kids and aren't married yet, but also dating a former bank robber. And some other things I informed her about you in the group chat.
Bruce: Oh, okay I have no say in the matter. Got it. What time are we going?
Kate: The party is at like three so we can show up at four. You bringing the kids?
Bruce sarcastically: That was a question, thank you so much for allowing me to answer that.
Kate: I can be nice like that.
Bruce: No, they aren't going. I don't even want to bring Damien to that. They aren't practicing and wouldn't like that side of the family.
Kate: I never asked, are you practicing Judaism?
Bruce: Nope.
Kate: Why, aunt Martha was Jewish, thought you'd do some fun-
Bruce: They died when I was 8 in an alley and you lose the spirit of anything when that happens!
Kate sighing: You use that excuse too much.
Bruce: My parents died!
Kate, silent for a second: And one of your sons shook hands with God, it's not a competition.
Bruce: The way Jason tells it he met Satan for some time.
Kate: Fair, are they aware you're Jewish?
Bruce: Yes, but again I'm not practicing. So it's like, yes, but no.
Kate: Oh so me. Cool.
She returns to reading.
Bruce: I enjoy the times we spend time together.
Kate: Aww, same cuzzo.

Half-foots are highly discriminated against in the world of dungeon meshi.
They have a difficult time living in places outside of their own territories because places where larger races live aren’t built for their size and crowds can be dangerous.
they’re the least valued race by long lived races because their life spans are the shortest out of all the races. this means that they’re dehumanized and often considered disposable. their superior senses make other races use them as “lures” when hunting succubi/mermaids (usually dying in the process).
They’re often mistaken for/treated like children because of their appearances, and because of this they have a difficult time getting jobs because it’s assumed that they’re immature/can’t handle it.
Because of this, when living outside of Half-foot territories they’re forced to get money by any means necessary (often resorting to crime), so other races stereotype them as “cunning” “greedy” and “manipulative”.
On top of that, members of long lived races who tend to fetishize them.
Even the name “Half-foot” is discriminatory.
Ryoko Kui does a fantastic job at world building.
But even after all of that, im not gonna stop talking about how bad i wanna put Chi Chi in my pocket.

i think perhaps my greatest gripe with vld (and dynamite) is that the storylines of the pilots ultimately feel too individualistic (tho dynamite also suffered with having only strong focus on keith and a little bit allura and hunk and everyone else was kinda. just there. so its no wonder).
i think one of the things abt voltron is that you really can't...let the pilots go off on their own. not that they have to be attached to the hip 24/7 but their storylines should be bringing them in together, not sending them into wildly different parts of the galaxy. they need to function not just as a unit within the story/to fight as voltron, but narratively as well; their arcs should really be complementing and enhancing each other. i feel like vttd understood this pretty well with the way arcs like lance's fed into the overall dynamic of the group, and in vforce, they seemed to treat the force as a proper unit that functioned together while still having their own personal stories (allura becoming queen of arus is still linked to what it means for voltron, keith on his way to becoming king consort for arus is linked to allura and also to the shifting dynamics within the formation with daniel as head, pidge deciding to remain as castle defense still means he supports voltron etc etc)
with vld...its complicated. you have allura going on what is essentially a path to godhood with alchemy and oriande and the secrets of the lions, keith literally peacing out for about two seasons with the blades to find krolia, and then shiro is a clone for a decent part and they subsequently shove him into the atlas once he's not. that's 3/6 paladins being dragged into different directions away from being a unit. keith leaving the team was...such a terrible move. a character who's lost family and been abandoned time and time again and instead of him making his own, he leaves it? and then he chills out on a space whale for two years and i'm supposed to believe he's voltron's leader now when he hasn't done the work to bond and connect with his paladins? keith and allura are also arguably the most important characters within voltron as a franchise, representing both voltron and the alliance, and its those two who are dragged away from the unit in vld (to the actual point of allura dying!!! willingly!!!!!!!!!). what results is a dissonant team with no real core to speak of, what with the constant changes in the chain of command. vforce worked so well because they understood the need for a core! golion is so endearing because within the first few episodes it knew that the team being together was the most important thing.
the storylines are just too...separate. they go on paths barely any other character can follow. and for a show about teamwork and working as one, it doesn't feel that way.

In my opinion, Bruce should be above average height or at least average. But since he surrounds himself with demi-gods, aliens, meta humans, etc, he's just dwarfed next to them. Like maybe about 6'1 or 6'2, but that's NOTHING compared to Diana '7'3 feet tall' Prince. Or Clark '6'9' Kent.
All the tabloids claim he has to be at least 5 feet tall because the only photos they can get of him are when he's next to his giant ass friends.
It is also my personal headcannon that all the robins stay shorter than him, except Jason, who should be at least 4 inches taller.

Thinking about how Diavolo’s feelings transcend time and how in the Nightbringer UR+ card Demon Lord’s Castle Tour this conversation happens.
When asked, “Do you wish to see your father?”
Diavolo responds:
“I suppose I do . . .” isn’t the typical reaction to how a child would feel about wanting to see their parent. Especially when said parent has essentially been in a coma for a year.
Along with how Diavolo describe his father.
It makes more sense why when you learn in Lesson 56 how Diavolo was treated by him growing up.
Diavolo can tell when others are lying but is unable to understand his father’s intentions.
Diavolo mentions that he lived a very sheltered life growing up. That from a young age his father never allowed him a chance to talk to anyone outside the castle.
His childhood friend was Mephistopheles. A demon literally RAISED to be his friend. Putting a barrier between the two because Mephistopheles would put Diavolo on a pedestal.
The isolating childhood he experienced riddled with his strict father constantly scolding him.
Despite everything MC is so important to him he wants to see his father again so we can meet.
