I truly truly believe that the most important thing you can do in fandom is be a cheerleader. comment on fics. reblog art and rave in the tags. support the people making the things you want to see. this is how you keep a fandom alive. this is how you get more of what you want. you never know: that person could have decided to make more just because you liked it.

i think the thing that gets me the most about Rick saying he wants to bring in more authors to tell more stories in the series is like.

a.) Sir you ALREADY HAVE GHOSTWRITERS. DOES STEPHANIE TRUE PETERS MEAN NOTHING TO YOU. Mark is NOT the first time another author has written Riordanverse characters. And it feels Really Weird that we're completely ignoring the two ghostwriters who happen to be women. And what about Secrets de L'Olympe / Racconta i Miti Greci? Can we PLEASE stop pretending like Haley and Mark are the only times someone other than Rick has written for the franchise??? It's a blatant lie!

b.) "That would be really fascinating to find other authors from those cultures who might want to adapt the characters" Richard you have literally already shown that you fail at step 1 there. You can't even find a neurodivergent author for the neurodivergent series, a disabled author for a disabled character, or a fucking Italian author for an Italian character and then proceed to absolutely butcher everything Italian about Nico. You couldn't even get his name right. You said the guy who lived in Venice for 10 years had never once stepped foot on a boat. Despite having moved to the States after that - yknow. most likely on a boat, because its the 1930s. Or, yknow, he traveled around Italy. Perhaps. By boat. Also what happened to "I don't like other authors writing my characters" (briefly ignoring that he already had ghostwriters by that point). Like, we're just going full author-collective-under-a-pen-name a la Erin Hunter here anyways is what it sounds like. Did you finally give up or something? Is this just a means to poach authors from the RR Presents stuff for reasons? Cause clearly you aren't capable of finding appropriate sensitivity readers to become co-authors so that's the only thing I can think of. Are authors going to be assigned characters based on their demographics?? I doubt you're going to be getting Greek Hellenic authors for this to write the gods. And why this instead of just using sensitivity readers? Because the first time it was a PR move. So what's this?
