every time i read an autobiographical comic about a transfeminine person practicing putting on makeup as a visual metaphor for the difficulty of Performing Womanhood i can feel my whole heart vibrate with sympathy. like. one of the absolutely most common Girl Experiences is feeling like you're never girling right or enough. there's so many rules and expectations and there's fucking makeup. i could never wrap my head around makeup!! not even for gender reasons, it's just this whole culture i don't understand. trying to grasp makeup feels like being a street urchin at an extremely exclusive high end restaurant crying because i don't know what fork to use and they won't let me eat with my hands. my seventh grade classmates tried to help me be girl by taking me shopping for nice clothes and mascara and i couldn't even wear it for a week. not only do you have to go through the intricate rituals of application but you have to remove it at the end of the day??? and everyone acts as if this arcane knowledge is something inherent to girlhood that you're just born knowing and feel naturally inclined to do??? i don't understand!!! i don't understand!!!!! people treated me as if i was being rebellious and making a statement but i just do not understand all the powders and inks and pencils and gunks and creams and brushes!! they feel bad against my face and i'll flinch from anything getting too close to my eyes. it doesn't matter how many offers for help i get or how many tutorials there are, i never wanted this for myself! i shouldn't have to do this! i can be a person without it just fine if you let me!
watching anyone trying to learn how to do makeup from scratch is like watching someone learning a new language. if you think it's hard it's because it is hard and don't let them tell you it's not, just because they've been speaking it for a long time

I hate the stretch lines in the front of Curly's uniform because that means the devs rushed to make a model in like a month or so and thought "They gotta at least know he has huge knockers, gotta know he's got back pain." Cause like what is the thematic importance of his tits having overhang?
What responsibility is that representing? Breast reduction? It shows an inherent greed in his character due to the excess and heshouldletmeholdone and that he clearly is blinded cause if he tries to look down his damn ladder all he's seeing is his own cleavage.

i think you can be as critical about the venezuelan opposition and maría corina and edmundo as you want but arent venezuelans allowed to choose for themselves even if the options arent perfect? are you willing to justify electoral fraud and police brutality, class inequality, bad management of resources, lack of maintenance of the country, breach of the law, lack of investment in health services and education etc etc just because the person doing it is someone you like or because you don't like the other option? are people at fault for wanting something different?

i guess it is a given that i am probably not an average or standard user of websites but whenever tumblr staff says something about the website being hard to use, or refusing to let us have options to turn something on/off in the menu because "it's adding bloat and too many complicated options for new users" i just get so confused. like what?
i love settings. i love little toggleable sliders. the first thing i do whenever i get any account or device is go into the options to make it exactly how i like. i spent 2 hours setting up my firefox to perfection. i have memorized and examined every tumblr feature multiple times. getting a new phone or laptop is like a fun 2 week long process of arranging settings and personalization and notifications. it baffles me that tumblr wants to REMOVE options. i love options!!
#when i got my new work laptop i tried to pin settings to the taskbar and the IT guy looked at me like i was stupid#very critically too. he was like why do you need that. folks only use that when they're poking around; you shouldnt need to ever access it#and i didnt have the heart to tell him that i just absolutely do poke around in settings a lot. also....why WOULDN'T i need to access it?#anyway who else out here likes BUTTONS!#TOGGLEABLE SWITCHES! Okay so, for this challenge we did a spiced up version of the classic sketch swap where you simply finish the other's sketch. However, to add some extra challenge to it, we decided whe had to sketch something with an extreme perspective and had to pick a palette of six colours the other had to use.
And so, Brekker sent me this sketch and palette:
So much attitude, so much Eros. I can hear Viktor's wobbly knees out of frame. And the colour palette is WILDLY outside my usual comfort zone as anyone familar with my art can tell. I was in for a rough ride I tell you. But I'm pretty happy with what I ended up making.

Rereading Flashback for my fanfic is getting me. Flashback is the SLOWEST book to read through but…SIGH… Fitz and Sophie were kinda cute (very cute together). Fitz kinda (by kinda I mean he did) tore down this scene
