Bucky has to be under some kind of blackmail from Val or whoever because there's no way you can look me in the eye and say honestly that Bucky would choose to work for the government that screwed over Sam (and Steve's wishes along the way), and did to Isaiah and his troop what Hydra did to him by experimenting on them; dehumanizing them, unknowingly and unwillingly turning them into super powered weapons of war, then punished and imprisoned Isaiah for doing the same shit they made Steve a hero for.

Ok since I don’t have to worry about spoilers anymore here are some old doodles of Father Isaiah as well as a loredump. I usually draw him with his hood up because his hair colour and ears (as well as other things) were a large plot point and spoiler—blood red hair is the main symptom of being Blood Stained, which is essentially a werewolf on steroids (they’re generally between 8-9 feet tall in their canid form and very powerful and agile) and is a blessing/curse (depending on how you view it, it’s generally considered a curse but a blessing by those who receive it) given to someone by the moon numen.

Isaiah has other features that show that he’s Blood Stained—he’s used his canid form a lot so some of its aspects bleed into his human form, such as his elongated ears and fangs, a small tail, and his right arm and leg having a more bestial appearance.

Queer Christian "mini" ramble :P

I'm a nonbinary lesbian and a practicing Catholic Christian, and ik that Christianity has been and continues to be used as a justification for queerphobia (by people who have clearly never read a Bible smh), but that hasn't stopped me from thinking ab how even just the themes of faith and queerness collide and intersect and come together and shit in such,,,,, just,,,,, beautiful ways imo???

Even going beyond the whole "Love thy neighbor as thyself" and Jesus just being a Swell Guy—The Swell Guy—it can get really fucking interesting, especially considering the context of modern times (I'm a little coo-coo for literary analysis, so just allow me to get my energy out here lol)

Like, Isaiah 49:15 says, "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!" (wording varies based on the version of Bible, but you get the picture)

God is literally saying, "I love you even if your own mother doesn't," and somehow, in the context of so many queer kids getting kicked out/disowned by their parents—to the point where 28% of queer youth have experienced homelessness at some point in their lives as of 2021—too many fucking Christians think God hates gays??? Pick up the damn Book, bitches???

God is an ally, you fake motherfuckers. Leave Their kids alone, goddamn.

(As an aside, I don't want to make anyone feel like I'm pushing my faith onto them, especially when it comes from a religion and institution that has done a lot of fucking harm. I'm not trying to convert anyone—that would be a bitch move. I just get really excited about these two parts of my identity that are very important to me lol)

I feel like this adds up to the bigger point that God is all ab the OutcastsTM, those who mainstream society has marginalized and all that. Several examples from the Gospel to support this come to mind immediately, but listing them all would take a Hot Minute.

But this line from Isaiah is one I think ab a lot. In a text that relies heavily on parable—to the point where you'd think more Christians would understand what metaphors are by now—this line hits especially hard in the context of today bc it's something that literally happens frequently to a specific group of people.

It's eery, at the very least, how on-point it is.

To anyone that's read this far—not to be that cheesy Christian, but I'm gonna be that cheesy Christian—God loves you. Even if you're not religious or have a rocky relationship with religion, I want you to know that God loves you. I have textual evidence and everything. Take it or leave it, doesn't matter <3

baldwin says he was diagnosed with leprosy as a boy*, so its not like at this moment he just didnt know about his disease. he knew he was sick and what his fate was. but that victory, that feeling of success, overpowered the more logical parts of his brain. and he just… forgot about the reality of his situation. at least for a little while.

and sure a 16 year old boy having an “im invincible! im gonna live forever!” moment isnt anything new. but baldwin having a moment like that after getting diagnosed with a chronic degenerative (terminal? for his time period?) disease… theres something very bittersweet to me about it. makes me wonder how long that feeling of invincibility lasted. what was it that Reminded him. brought him back down.

(*irl baldwin, while suspected of having leprosy as a child, wasnt formally diagnosed until after he became king. wether they told him about these suspicions or not he wouldve still Known there was Something Wrong.)

Today is the first day of Advent. In the Christan year, this is our new year. This is a time of waiting and anticipation. This first week of Advent is the day of Hope.

What does hope mean today? I have been struggling with this question. How are the Christians celebrating the first Sunday of Advent in Bethlehem? How are they celebrating in Nazareth? How are they celebrating in Jerusalem? How are they celebrating in Gaza?

What does hope mean, today of all days? The truce has ended, the bombings have restarted, thousands more have died. I have seen parents holding the bombed and shattered bodies of their children and I think of all the children I've ever held in my arms. I think about how Jesus was an infant. Born in a land occupied by the Roman Empire. I wonder what it means to have hope today. What does it mean to be Christian today?

At today's service I took comfort and inspiration from the words of Isaiah 65. I thought I might share them here.

For I am about to create new heavens and a new earth, the former things shall not be remembered or come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I am creating, for. I am about to create Jerusalem as a joy, and its people as a delight.

I will rejoice in Jerusalem and delight in my people, no more shall the sound of weeping be heard in it, or the cry of distress. No more shall there be in it an infant that lives but a few days, or an old person who does not live out a lifetime. For one who dies at a hundred shall be considered a youth, and one who falls short of 100 will be considered accursed.

They shall build houses and inhabit them. They shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit. They shall not build and another inhabit, they shall not plant and another eat. For like the days of a tree shall the days of my people be, and my chosen shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labor in vain, or bear children for calamity. Just watched the new movie Crater and it’s a great movie! anti-capitalist message, found family dynamics, kids getting to be kids and heartwarming bittersweet ending. definitely watch if you have the time and means.

Right now in TATA only Jacquie and Isaiah have been reimplemented as Legacies, its up in the air if Helena will be brought back cuz i havent decided if Bloody Painter will be brought back or not. These are all really rough doodles just meant to be reminders of the old designs

Jacquie has def had the biggest change in TATA, Isaiah looks.....the exact same 🤭 We're at about 76 percent towards the positive end of Helena being brought back but i just dont know yet.

Goat's designs are separate from TATA! They are making their own story, so those designs will be theirs and theirs alone! Yes they are technically the same characters but we go different directions. You guys will probably get content here and there of their designs from me once Goat establishes them on their own more.
