Xaden’s “Welcome” Speech

One thing I genuinely love about Xaden is his nonchalant audacity at times. No other character in this series quite matches him in this department, some are definitely close, but he really takes the (chocolate) cake.

Consider his ‘welcome’ speech to the new cadets -

He tells them it doesn’t matter who their parents are because it’s not going to help them in the Riders Quadrant; his example is of course how Alic Tauri didn’t survive his first year, despite being the second prince.

But the reason he didn’t survive, is because

XADEN FUCKING MURDERED HIM DURING THRESHING!!!

Don’t get me wrong – Garrick being alive is far better than some bully we never met. But still… I mean, come on. Seriously, Xaden?! Seriously?!

I just…

I love him. He's such a fucking delight with how much he doesn't give a fuck. It’s also fun to imagine that during his little speech Garrick was thinking –

Dude, what the actual fuck? Sure, people don’t know we’re the ones responsible, but maybe let’s not tempt fate by bringing him up. We're so close to graduating.

What more can I say? I just adore the sheer amount of audacity Xaden has so goddamn much.

I can't BELIEVE that the whole fandom would just right up absolutely fucking SLEEP on two of the BANGERS from this book. Lemme just—

The sheer gall this diva possesses is so amazing. Imagine finding out you have a darn noble with inbuilt translator in him, and the reason he simply chose to NOT participate was because "eww. dead people. don't know, don't care." I LOVE THIS GUY

Based on the dragon relics we've seen so far, the most common location seems to be back or shoulder/upper arm. But I just really want someone to have a tasteful dragon relic tramp stamp

Theory/Ramble

Near the beginning of iron flame its mentioned that xaden has to move out of his room fairly quickly cause the new leadership will move in when the results are posted right.

And of course dain becomes the new wingleader...

So its probable he moved into xadens old room, which if i recall last time xaden was actually in that room before war games a window may have been broken. And there is no way that they had time to fix that window in the middle of war games or in the little time when he was back. And i doubt he would have wanted to eith the possibility of Dain becoming wing leader.

I can just picture Dain coming into his new room like why is the window broken 🧐
