I decided to create a character for my profile in the game! We only have a few more days in the studio, but today was my last day in the zoi world! Can't wait for the game to be released!

By the way...
The official system requirements for inZOI if you're curious:
Minimum System Requirements for inZOI To simply get started with inZOI, your computer will need to meet the following hardware criteria: CPU: Equipped with at least an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or an Intel Core i7-6800K, your processor should be able to handle the basic demands of the game. RAM: 16 GB is required for your system to run inZOI efficiently, letting you enjoy gameplay without significant lag. Video Card: A GPU such as the AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT or NVIDIA GeForce 1080 will be necessary to render the stunning graphics inZOI offers. Dedicated Video RAM: 6144 MB is the minimum to ensure those graphically intense moments look as beautiful as intended. Pixel Shader: Version 5.0 support is needed to achieve the full visual effect of various in-game textures and lighting. Vertex Shader: As with pixel shader, version 5.0 is required for proper rendering of the game’s complex models and environments. OS: Ensure that you have Windows 10/11 with the latest updates installed to support the game's software requirements. Free Disk Space: A minimum of 50 GB of available disk space will be required to install and run the game comfortably. Recommended System Requirements for inZOI For those wanting to experience inZOI in all its glory with high frame rates and the most detailed visuals, aim for the following recommended specifications: CPU: A more powerful processor like the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X or the Intel Core i5-10600K will deliver a smoother performance even in the most demanding scenarios. RAM: Doubling the minimum requirement, 32 GB of RAM will ensure that your game runs seamlessly and enables extensive multitasking. Video Card: Upgrading to an AMD Radeon RX 6800 or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 video card will allow you to enjoy inZOI at higher resolutions and with better graphical fidelity. Dedicated Video RAM: A hefty 10240 MB will give you the bandwidth needed for ultra-quality textures and prevent any graphical stuttering. Pixel Shader and Vertex Shader: Remaining at version 5.0, but coupled with more robust hardware, you’ll be able to maximize the game’s visual settings. OS: Windows 10/11 with the latest updates is again recommended for the best compatibility. Free Disk Space: A consistent 50 GB of free space is recommended for game files, mods, and updates.

And has a partnership with Curseforge. (And a placeholder on ModCollective.)
Friendly reminder to my moots that Inzoi’s build mode uses generative AI for the creation of things like art and wallpaper and it’s not worth melting our planet for a vidya game thank you

since i've seen people being unaware or uncaring about the catastrophic toll generative ai has on both the environment and the workers behind it here's some information about what that toll is actually like. i'd encourage everyone to read the full articles, but i've highlighted some important parts for convenience

A screenshot of a Steam review of Inzoi. Above the actual review, it reads:
This game will steal your data, they also use AI image generation for their shitty posters and other features
Steam review by user double barrel daryl:
Not Recommended gpp.krafton (dot) io/legal/1942dfaf-5da-4028-b55c-5f4e38d1a49
Here is the link to the legal document you are accepting, since there are many different Inzoi Privacy Policy websites that get more priority than the real one, and this link is inaccessible in-game. Mind you "bad company" EA has their Privacy Policy both in launcher and in-game. Also closing the game when at the policy screen auto-accepts it next time you open the game. I had to make a whole new Steam profile in order to document that link. Bug, or feature - I don't think this is legal man. Quote from the Privacy Policy:
Retaining and Deleting Personal Information "we retain your personal information even after you closed your account with us [...] if retention of your personal information is reasonably neccessary to to comply with our legal obligations, meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, chaeting or abuse, or enforce this Policy or any other agreement we have with a player."
End of Quote
What reason do they have to keeping my information forever using competitive multiplayer issues with cheating and piracy when I'm doing a single-player playtest demo of their character creator?
Quote form the Privacy Policy
What Information Do We Collect Identifiers such as SteamID64, email address, password, date of birth, nickname, name, IP address, postal address, phone number, date of birth, country of residence, language, nationality, etc.;
End of Quote
That information is terrifying when matched with the facial scan. Best believe I exercised my rights to access and deletion.
Tumblr media
Ummm... I thought you guys should probably see this...
I'm really glad I didn't decide to download that character creator demo, even though it was free.

inZOI - Madzie & Max Lightwood-Bane (Shadowhunters)
After making Magnus Bane, I decided to make his kids to try out the kids for the demo.
IIRC, the TS4 CAS demo didn't let us make kids (did they even effing HAVE kids as a lifestate back then, or was it just zero toddlers & bassinet babies?). So we're already off to a better start than effing EA.
I'm sad that Krafton didn't let us have access to any sliders to really customize kids in the demo. The presets are ok enough, though some of them look like mini adults or something--the eye bags are too much (at least 3 poor kids looked like they'd been huffing a pack of cigarettes a day since the effing womb).
Kids have no nails & accessories, which is bogus. They get all the adult hats--fedora included--which is...interesting. We need some clips & barrettes & scrunchies etc--real 90s Throwback At Claire's.
Tumblr media
Even TS3 gave kids earrings & bracelets & watches etc, so Krafton needs to step their game up, this is unacceptable that kids barely have EFF ALL.
The kids' clothes are also woefully low--no SKIRTS or DRESSES?! Just one set of PJs for outfits, why? They're all basically the same choices for adults & kids, which is kinda cool but kinda lazy? Give kids their own unique sense of style & identity--Asia has the cutest stuff, come on, don't be generic like this. U_U More kawaii, less Baby Gap. 4/10.
But it made me realize that I like the shoes options on the kids waaaaay more than I do on the adults. The adults need better shoes; that was my least favorite part; TS4's demo had much better shoes.
General
Two things I realized I'd overlooked on the adult zois:
EYES & TEETH: we need to be able to recolor the eye sclera, and the teeth. Both are just way too yellow for my liking, which I noticed as soon as I made Blueberry, and the blue made his eyes & teeth look like he had jaundice.
CUSTOM PATTERNS/TEXTURES: This is so frikkin cool! It's basically a lightweight version of TSRW's Pattern Tool (without the recolorability, sadly); allowing you to directly import DIY textures onto clothes. You can change the tiling & X/Y axis position, it's great!
Tumblr media
I added the constellations & skeleton on Blueberry's tops. We need more GOTH fashion representation, Krafton! \m / (^0^) \m/
One of my favorite features is the hair that you can cut. Max's hair is gorgeous--you can make it really long, or really short. I went with medium-ish. And I LOVE the highlights options, iirc it had like 4 or 5 parts. Again: ALL hairs need AT LEAST the highlight function, if the length feature can't be universally implemented for whatever reason.
Tumblr media
(I'm posting links to this & my first "review" on inZOI's Discord, so hopefully someone over there gets this feedback. I bloody doubt it, but yolo.)

First generative AI, now Curseforge. (Not to forget the placeholder on Modr, erm, ModCollective.)
And I thought my only reason not to try inZOI were the hyperrealistic graphics that give me the creeps.
Tumblr media
Happened to see this and thought yall might be interested in seeing it, if you've been looking forward to inZOI.

I’m definitely not applauding The Sims 4 for giving us a lash update after 10 years of existence.

i also watched the demo video for inzoi and i am so sat. i've seen other people play the demo too. i said before how much i love super realistic games. so if that actually launches at any point, i will be purchasing it. i wanna give it a shot. it looks heavy though fr. i hope my pc can handle it. it seems like a mix of gta v and the sims. they even said they're gonna have a program for making mods and cc for the game so if it does come out and that happens, i wanna try that out too. i hope it actually comes to fruition. like this is the exact simulation game i've wanted for a while. it's supposed to come out later this year soooo we'll see.

The average person will love inzoi because they don't know/don't care, and we're gonna have to watch it.
@simandy hits the nail on the head.
very disappointed to see how games that use art for their vision to come to life are actively trying to spread the use of ai. it seems like self kill at this point for these companies.
Unfortunately it's not a self kill. The Average Normal Person (tm) does not care a bit about the issues that the existence of generative AI causes. They're not artists nor writers who are being threatened, they have a fun app in their cellphones that turn their selfies into pixar cartoons and another fun app that turns their RPG prompts into a whole story without effort and they think this is cool. Here in my city we have a graphic design school that has been around for a few years and it has started using generative AI as a tool, they even got a contest for it. I was called there to talk about mental health with the manager and that's how I found they were using AI to design things now. Her face, when I told her what generative AI truly was, was pure and absolute shock. She simply didn't know. She had no idea it was stolen content, that it was robbing their students of the creative process. A graphic designer who was experienced enough to be a manager. The average offline person has no idea, and that's why those companies aren't in danger. It's the same reason why EA keeps spitting out half assed content, because the simblr community here might be huge, but you know who are the 99.9% of The Sims 4 players? Children and people who are not on tumblr, or even on twitter. They don't know it could be better, the kids weren't here for The Sims 2 and 3. They think the content EA launches is at the very least "ok".
The average person will love inzoi because they don't know/don't care, and we're gonna have to watch it.

All the inzoi characters on my feed really makes me want to play the demo so badly, but I only have my MacBook with me right now… so I’m crossing my fingers that they’ll extend the end date so I can check it out!
