I keep thinking about how by the time Sang-Woo died, his mother probably knew Gi-Hun better than she knew him. In all honesty, it’d most likely been that way for years.

There were undoubtedly a lot of thoughts going on in his mind when he killed himself, but I can’t imagine he didn’t at least consider that even if he goes home, he’s not sure how well his mom will recognize him. Poor and battered, but more than anything guilty. At the very least, Gi-Hun is still who he’s always been. Sang-Woo’s not even living in his own future.

I can’t imagine how he’d feel seeing S2 Gi-Hun. And while I still think he’d choose to do it again for his mother, I wonder if he regrets the change he brought on. Because this time, it wasn’t his future he was investing in, and the coin flip left Gi-Hun on a different side than he’d begun on.
