For the discussion for my intro to psychology class this week, the assignment is literally:

"Pick one of the mental disorders you learned about in this module. Think of a fictional character who you think might fit, at least to some extent, that type of disorder. Consider cartoon characters, Disney princesses, favorite sitcom characters, etc. Do some research on the disorder to write up a diagnosis. Explain which disorder the character might have, describe the disorder, then provide at least three evidences or examples of how or why that character meets the description of the mental illness."

so is the sbpd's two-way-mirror setup just kinda shit and no one's realized, or can shawn spencer actually just. perceive things through two-way-mirrors? is the implication that his knowledge of lassiter's behavior is so complete, he's just able to predict his precise position and actions with perfect timing? this is never explained.

#the second two explanations are batshit insane but i kinda fuck with them as ''actual psychic shawn spencer'' au fodder #i thought the first one was unlikely bc surely someone else would have noticed #but then i suppose shawn's whole deal is noticing little things that no one else ever does and exploiting them #i looked it up and apparently if the ligting ratio between each room is off #you can actually see through the reflective side and into the other room #so maybe one of the bulbs was dying or smth and the change in light level was just enough for shawn to see #this is about the scene immediately after the intro in s3e4 ''the greatest adventure in the history of basic cable''#psych #shawn spencer #carlton lassiter #running my mouth

See I was always fond of skeleton decor but ever since dead boy detectives melted itself into every single one of my braincells, they have taken on a new meaning. So now when I wrap myself in my skeleton-in-a-flamingo-floaty beach towel after my shower I am like hehe Charles and Edwin towel ^‿^ instead of me enjoying my cutesy towel a normal amount

#dead boy detectives #i love the intro to pieces but it has done things to my psyche that i think are irreversible #i have a bag you know those large cheap plastic totes 5 below has with the same pattern as the towel #that i bought specifically cause i needed more fun skeleton items that are dbda coded #dbda has grown my skeleton decor fondness to new heights #with the halloween decorations beginning to creep up i think i will become insufferable #with the amount of skeleton items i will be purchasing in the name of dbda coded glee every time i look at them #everyone say good luck to my roommate who will be having to put up with all my skeleton decorations i will accumulate by the end of october #dbda

How to remove the words seratonin, dopamine, and oxytocin from the minds of people who take psych advice from unlicensed tiktokers. Bonus points if it takes the tattoos they got of the molecules bc they’re scientifically illiterate and think a chemical structure adds legitimacy to their pseudoscience.

#my stuff #i see so many med students with the tattoos and your honor i can’t take it.#i’ve met people who have lifelong mental illnesses who have gotten one of those molecules related to their lives experience #meanwhile freshman med students in intro chem see a molecule and slap it on #i personally don’t believe in doing tats of things you don’t really care about #things that matter to you or significantly changed you #i wouldn’t put anything scientific on myself that i had not worked on #rn i’m working through the list of hobbies and stories that i’ve loved deeply for Years #idk ppl with the 3 Psych Molecules specifically just bugs me so much bc i feel like it’s become a popsci tattoo #and you either get it because you’re Traumatized For Real or bc it’s a cool shape that has poppsych implications #the latter of which feels shallow and disrespectful to associate with the former
