The satan character is decent.

A judge and a reasonable one at that who it seems is well respected among his peers, all the sins but sadboy showed to his court, there was plenty of room to speak and this court session was abruptly held because of one little snitch (with a good case) so we get the impression that he is a stickler for rules and justice.

No idea how powerful he is but he showed us something that this series has been lacking which is a hierarchy. A stickler for the rules but clearly had some favouritism and affection for Stolas who sits high as royalty, was Stolas spared by satan or is there a known and accepted exception to the rules when it comes to royalty? That was left open.

Stolas's punishment, if it's committed to could actually something excellent for his characters growth, the opportunity to genuinely slum it and gain empathy and appreciation for what is a lifetime to the average person.

I like how the moment Stolas lost his position the general public would turn on him, again, finally establishing that these titles stand for something.

We're definitely not missing out on sadboy Lucifer over at the hangout hotel, he truly isn't needed.

Stella can love her daughter and loathe her husband who loathed her right back. No proof that's she's the incompetent parent. Nothing hard to understand here. The Octavia scene could have made Stella look more of a villain had this all been her plan but no, her brother pulls the strings.

Still, Stella remains interesting .

I appreciate that Mammon was tediously bored, unbothered and was looking forward to taking a break to eat, like many people forced to be at meetings, this further told us that these meetings are something that must be attended like it or not.

They really laid it on thick that nobody likes this guy and were so petty about it, reminding us that he's gross, fat, glutinous, stupid, unfocused, childlike and doesn't get that those who aren't snapping at him don't like him either.

Were we supposed to find a grownup playing with toys that ranged from fidgit to toddler an annoyance or amusing, since the whole direction of this character is that he's offputting and wrong in every way possible?

Mammon had no time for Stolas's song yet Stolas would approach him briefly and knock over his building blocks, is his lack of interest in 'emotional' song and dance another reason we should be disliking him, who didn't have a song to sing in his episode where he additionally broke the mould of 'no fun'?

Why does Bee have issue with him? Wasn't she a fun, dismissive and shallow, binge eating and drinking pushing party girl when we last saw her? Couldn't these two easily be close?

What exactly is ancient Ozzie's issue with ancient Mammon outside of the past 10 years with 30 something Fizz?

Bee and Ozzie being attached at the hip and practically sharing lines is so tacky. They're reduced to cheering on Blitzø despite their few exchanges with him, exchanges which involved unresolved critique, these two are truly the worst, they got worst, Ozzie heckled Blitzø on before he got neutered, but after neutering he knows that Stolas had been lending out his grimore, Blitzø no longer has Stolas's book but now has Ozzie's crystal, so he's unser his jurisdiction now, a deal Stolas and Ozzie made behind Blitzø's back, how about talking about that? Bee on the other hand got neutered during her introduction, when she all of a sudden saw Blitzø as a huge problem that was ruining her party and killing a vibe though we saw no NPC walking out, now she's arguing that he's harmless? We don't get much of them but the brief moments we do get just dump on their credibility further but hey, what matters is they're both dating on Blitzø and co. level so they're 'nice guys'.

Two sides of the same coin is what they are. Though their opening lines were to cape for Blitzø things soon turned to Bee sex shaming Mammon, yes Queen Bee, the prince gluttony who sat cringing at Mammon's gluttonous display, makes the sex remark. I repeat, coin, two sides.

Really gives more credence to critism of fat phobia and acephobia (because asexual means nobody wants you, it's just another word for incel) that I've seen, there may be room to throw neuro divergence ignorance in there too.

eli is also responsible for this nebulously connected to the WK-verse oneshot ive been struggling with, and he doesnt even know it. basically, he suggested making an oc to play around with, and ive slowly been coming up with one. (she is still Unnamed lol) but she is a bit of a gag character, and not really involved with the Tortuga crew. I just really love an outsider pov, it amuses me, and i think someone tangentially involved makes for a lot of humorous moments. (think the "my cabbages!" guy from A:TLA) but basically she is a former NASCAR racer who got injured, badly, her very first season, and suffered permanent hearing loss in one ear, and partial in the other. she is now a getaway driver, and she is cringe. she's cocky and a schemer, but she's also an absolute fool. it took her a while to get behind the wheel again, and she still struggles. and somehow she chose working as a getaway driver for various WK villains as an optimal career path. everytime she leaves her car unattended, she comes back to it totaled. like Kevin from Ben 10 lmaoo

aviva and zach will parallel some sort of elementary + middle school friends type of thing where in HS they go to separate schools. both zach and aviva are in fire nation but aviva is from a colony and zach is an actual fire nation kid. both are non benders, or possibly zach is a weak firebender, who uses his flames for like, the forge or smth idk. Maybe he cant bend at all. Its still something I'm figuring out. the two meet as they always do, first rivals then weird friends.

when they're both around 16/17-ish aviva meets some other earth nation ppl and they fill her in on what's going on outside. she decides to leave. Zach obviously calls her a fucking idiot cuz wtf aviva you're gonna die out there. and aviva is like nah man trust me they said they have leads on the Avatar so if we bring him back then it might actually end the war. zach is obviously hella sus about this but he can't convince avuva out of it so he resigns and tells aviva to be careful. The next time they meet it likely wont be as friends

there's more to the au ofc, but i was thinking of maybe doing a series of connected oneshots set in this verse for them and to explore the other characters as well.

but. zach’s dad as the goblin king, zach as a half mortal half fae? like i know the goblin king himself was a fae that rules over the goblins so, i’m thinking he’s part of the unseelie court? of more malicious fae. so, that, for zach’s dad, and his mother is either a nature spirit, or a fae in another court. and zach is making multiple attempts at getting OUT of his dads labyrinth.

and meanwhile. meanwhile CHRIS is in the labyrinth trying to get to MARTIN who is, idk, for some reason in the center of the labyrinth? so i know the brothers would never wish each other away and that’s for kids anyways. but. i’m thinking. smth is up, a festival of sorts for the spn creatures villain seminars or smth.

and so its either martin who there? for some reason? and chris is trying to get to him, OR its a Wild Kratt Kid, im undecided

Chris is trying to rescue whoever it is, with aviva as a guide bc aviva HAS braved the labrynth before when she was a child

(she was trying to save zach. who she met at science camp. idk i’m still figuring out how the modern aspect is incorporated here? i’m thinking it’s mostly compliant? like the supernatural exist and are known to some but a lot of them are like, hidden in plain sight? not everyone knows)

aviva thought zach was wished away to the labrynth and under threat of being turned to a goblin she wasn’t aware that, yk, the labrynth is his HOME (prison, whatever you wanna call it)

so it’s like—zach trying to get out and his attempts bring him to aviva and chris who are trying to get IN. as a kid and throughout his teen years, zach WAS able to go to the mortal world, hence the science camp, neighbors-ish with the kratts, etc

i’m thinking that, the varmitechs do have a business in the mortal realm too, which is why he lives there, but they also have business in the fae realm? so like, ima have to work that out later

still, i plan on writing this as a one shot, (though its gotten rather long ill be honest) with it going back and forth between zach's many failed runs, (the past) and his current run (which is where he bumps into chris and aviva)

Digimon Data Squad (Savers) - Episode 3

Wait. Why are they suddenly appealing to the female gaze with this episode? Having rival dudes is par for the course for Digimon, but the fanservicey (or should I say MANservicey) shower scene in the Japanese version really threw me off lol. Of course it was cut from the dub...(probably for the best, it was hella awkward).

Notes:

Why do they keep drawing the girls in this show with soulless/brainwashed eyes? It's very distracting

This series no longer does the thing where they pause to give you the digimon's name/info and I kinda miss it. It is more natural this way, but sometimes I appreciate the info.

All of the Tohma exposition in this was pretty cringe. They were like "he's super duper handsome, a genius, and he's an olympic-level boxer, and he's fixed all of our computer systems and you'll never be as good as him Masaru!" Like, please show don't tell, show. Sitting through people talk at me about how great a character I've barely met yet is is not fun.

Gaomon kinda has that "silent and serious" vibe that Renamon had. Kinda shocking we haven't had a dog digimon in the main cast yet! (Unless you count Terriermon, but everyone knows he looks like a bunny. Also, Garurumon is a wolf). Just like Agumon he's got ~accessories~ I like his curly tail in his digivolved form.

Suddenly I'm watching One Pound Gospel again with that boxing match lol. That face punch Masaru gave Tohma was pretty satisfying.

Masaru and Tohma's red, angry faces post-fight were cute. Lots of great expressions this episode. (Hopefully Yoshino doesn't take a backseat with how much they're pumping the dudes up as fighters).

The PuchiMeramon digieggs were very specific looking (with flames on the digieggs). Sometimes digieggs are really vague and sometimes they're not lol

I kinda wish they'd just reveal who that old dude is already. It's so obvious that they're gonna reveal something about him and I just wanna get it over with

I feel like it's easy to put deLulu in the crazy bucket, but she's definitely motivated more by selfishness than by any kind of mental illness. She could have easily asked Bucky out at any point over the last four years. Who knows-- he might have said yes. She just kind of expected him to fall for her, so don't feel bad for her. She's been manipulating his relationships for a long time now.

She's definitely put Bucky in this quasi-boyfriend role, where she treats him like a bf and expects him to treat her like a gf, just minus the sexual/romantic element... for now (in her mind). She's used to being the only girl of significance in his life, and it's going to hit her hard when that changes. And it changes very, very soon.

Bucky will start seeing problems with the way she acts, but he won't necessarily put two and two together right away. Because, to him, the idea of a romantic relationship between him and her is just... so far out there. She is a friend; he's never, ever seen her as anything else. The idea has never crossed his mind. So, when trying to come up with motives for her behavior, jealousy will not be the first one to come to mind.

I think I would have been too terrified to have ever written a Jade POV. It would have been so scary in that head, lol.

-Andrew Kreiss:

I like Andrew for a lot of reasons! His design, gameplay, overall theme, there's so much I could ramble on and on about. I remember what really cemented him on my fave list was parts of his personality and general character tidbits (one being sun sensitivity). Additionally, a lot of what I consider to be my "weirder" interests happen to align with him. Sometimes it's easier to delve into them and be my authentic cringe self with the guise of character deep dives haha.

All in all, I think he's an interesting character. Kinda my go to guy to say "Ah yes my son" when speaking about fictional characters.

-Emma Woods:

One of my faves from when I first started! She actually was one of the 3 that drew me in tbh (I called her the "cute gardener girl" back then). I remember being convinced I would main her, but alas.... only in duos. Despite this, she's stands strong as one of my top faves. I find her backstory/manor game to be really interesting - and weirdly entertaining considering the drama she causes in the game. I really enjoy her general "cutesy but dangerous" vibe. I've always been a sucker for that troupe.

Additionally, Lady Truth is one of my favorite spin off characters in the game! I love a good mystery with a female lead!! I honestly hope we see more of her outside of anniversary events.... She has so much good lore potential!

-Kurt Frank:

I didn't choose the Kurt life.... the Kurt like chose ME. No seriously I never would have guessed I'd end up mailing him. The percypocolypse does things to a man. I'm glad it did though. Kurt has honestly become one of my fave characters, I find him so silly and interesting. While his deductions are...interesting to read, I loved his manor game story! I wish there was more content of him (ex. translated twitter replies) I could look at for him :/ That aside, as a fellow daydreamer, I find Kurt's attitude contagious and his rambles fun. I wish he didn't die before sharing said story, but whatever. Maybe another event with him leading it will appear to fill the void with silly.

-Martha Behamfil:

Not only was she my first rescue main, but Martha helped me figure out my gender (real) (not clickbait). So uh, I do love her a lot for that. I also love her general themes of independence, while still keeping in touch with one's femininity in a way (ex. chasing her dreams to be a pilot while also indulging in a love life). I also just honestly love her outfits and gameplay as well. She's never not slayed in my eyes thus far. I have a very soft spot for her dskhafj -Ann

Annnn!!!! My lovely hunter main. She's sunk her cat claws into my heart and I do not wish for her to let go. I honestly love everything about her. Her backstory is hella engaging (NETEASE GIVE ME MORE FOOD), her abilities are fun, and honestly I find Apostle funny.

She was very quick to becoming one of my faves. I honestly could gush about her forever, but Im trying to keep these explanations semi fair!

I love Michi..... She brings me great calm and reminds me of my grandmother (she had a painting of geishas in her house when I was little). She's one of the few characters I've genuinely nearly cried after reading their backstory.

While I don't main her much anymore, I can't say I have ever stopped loving Michi as a character/looking at cool content of her. She's just gRAHHhh /POS

I'm still learning the best way to play her, but I find it a fun relaxing experience to do. Overall I associate her with great calm and zen. She's a great gal.

-Miss Fisher She is the moment, she is iconic, she IS Miss Fisher. No character has made me feel as empowered as she has. Like it's actually insane. She is another character that I associate with my grandma as well as they introduced me to the series itself. Its been overall a very nice piece of media to sink my teeth into... NOT TO MENTION THERES SO MUCH OF IT!! I HAVENT EVEN FINISHED THE BOOKS!

I love Dot. In both mediums of the series. Her character growth and overall attitude complements Miss Fisher's perfectly and is honestly such a delight to see. I also find her own moments of sleuthing to be really fun! I love when she has that strong confidence. TLDR: I wanna pinch her cheeks

The Contortionist

My biggest feat this month is not DNFing this.

Quality is never guaranteed with anything, but even then, I didn't see this coming. To be fair, it hasn’t been trending on Booktok at all—I don’t think I’ve ever seen it on there, tbh—I knew of it mainly because of Reddit. All I can say is that that subreddit has taken a huge hit on their credibility (I’m half-joking).

This reads in some part like an edgy thirteen-year-old wrote this. There is so much telling, not showing. It feels… I don’t know how to explain it, but like I’m reading a high school composition / essay. I am constantly told things, like how “insane” Simon is, like how close the main character is to Trent, but I’m never really shown that, especially the latter. 

Let’s talk about Trent, her gay best friend and the driving force of most of the story. He’s supposed to be dearest pal and the person she wants to protect, and I’m like… Why? He acts nothing like a friend. He’s just a selfish, conceited person who only cares about his own interests. She tells him she was molested, and this—this monstrosity—is what he says:

 I… I don’t even know what to say about this. Firstly, what kind of friend advocates for fucking sexual assault? Secondly, this is a horrific caricature of how a gay person is portrayed. It's an insult to gay people. All this character thinks about is fucking hot men. The heroine, Cora, his best friend, is very clearly distraught because of the circus but he has never once noticed—never once cared beyond going there to get dick from someone at the circus:

And then later, when he’s in danger, she thinks: 

Ah, right. The good old flashbacks. Because other than flashbacks to remind us how supposedly close these two people are (which are just shoe-horned in and not convincing at all), Trent has never done anything worth risking her life to save him. 

Anyways, enough about Trent. Let’s talk about Simon, whose characterisation makes me puke.

I’ll start with the obvious—he’s insane. Don’t worry, you won’t forget this, because he reminds you of this every chapter. He’s insane. His smile “reeks” of insanity, whatever that means! He lost his sanity a long time ago! He is bonkers!  (These are phrases all written in the book)

This is the cheapest way to describe a crazy person to me. My petty pet peeve is that I hate an overload of adjectives—show me he’s unhinged through his actions. And him constantly thinking to himself that he is insane made me cringe; can he… not? I have nothing against crazy people in fiction (if anything, they’re hella interesting if done right) but reminding me over and over again as if ‘crazy’ or 'evil' is his main personality trait is... a choice. And if he’s not reminding you of this, his circus co-workers are: 

I... laughed, and I think I wasn't supposed to laugh. This story is supposed to be about a creepy, spooky circus, but other than Simon, everyone else just acts like normal people, save for the barker, who was creepy at first then had a personality transplant and became a normal, decent guy the next day. And them calling him “a dangerous, murderous piece of shit” had me in pieces.

I have to add that I read the “Unseelie Prince” by the same author and DNFed it, and it confirms to me that she writes the same type of male lead that is not for me. Why is he constantly cackling? Once or twice is… fine, I guess, but every time he cackles I envision a crazy witch-hag. And he gives big granny vibes too because he keeps calling the main character “cupcake”.  No, I'm not kidding:

(Of course, we gotta be reminded that he is a psychopath. Can’t forget the reminder!) Also, he'll sometimes go on long rants when he’s angry, and the abrupt switch and the way the dialogue is written is... not done well. It's hard to put a finger on it and say exactly why, other than it didn't work for me.

There’s a lot more issues with this book that I don’t care to go into, because I’m not continuing this nonsense. Cora constantly going back to the circus when she’s traumatised by it yet and yet again makes no sense, and the horrible characterisation of everyone is another step down. Even “Hide” by Kiersten White did a better job setting an eerie atmosphere for a circus than this book did. I think a part of me did compare this book to “Hide”, and it falls awfully short. 

Buried underneath this bilge is a plot that could actually work with the right execution. The puppet thing is honestly kind of interesting, but with their puppeteer being some man that talks like an edgy grandma, it is just not working for me. Goodbye, and good riddance. I've decided to write this author off once and for all.

my life is a comedy

Things are funny when you are grown up. That or straight-up crazy and f-ed up. I would like to call them funny, just to put the positive vibe here.

The realization started when I was losing sleep and functioning like a weird robot several years ago. One good outcome was the fact that I was well aware of the state that I was in. I remembered running around places trying to get help, and at times it felt like nothing would be better for me. Until I discovered someone like an angel, staying with me with 255k per month. That was my turning point.

You see, it is funnier because I cannot remember many things from my past; they have skipped and gone in my head. But I know everything was funny to me since at the same time it was also crazy. When I first started, it was mostly the work thing. The new kid, new units, new coworkers, new environment, new romusha, and new hell. Result: insomnia, lack of sleep, tiredness, migraine, headache, unstable emotions, a.k.a. the worst days, and I was only 24. But after some time and pills, some things wouldn't go away: self-criticism, self-hatred, lack of confidence, overweening pride (hilarious, I know), daydreaming, hopeless romanticism, and other minus emotions my app told me to name. And after so many sessions, I could point out that family was the culprit.

Learning about my trauma as a kid and later on discovering much more traumatizing events (spoiler alert: officially broken home) were not on my 100 things I want to do before I die. Another funny yet cringe list that motivators told kids to make. Who would want the family drama to be revealed on a sunny afternoon? Who would write 'seeing my brother ugly crying' as their top 10 list? But most importantly, I did not write 'being angry all the time or whenever my dad was the subject of convo' as my dream.

My life is a joke, honestly.

However, it is a truly humbling yet amusing experience for me. One moment you fuel yourself with anger, and the next you can feel numb, just empty in your head. And now, you just want peace. You just want to sleep 7 hours a day, have your coffee in the morning, workout, have a nice walk at the park, and read your books. We can say that or it is another mental problem.

The thing is... Letting go of the bag of emotions is wild for me since I never expected to do that. The current goal and daily activity now is unlearning all the toxic traits and the trauma responses. For that, I can say that it is the hardest thing to do because how do you train yourself to do the opposite thing you have been doing for the rest of your life?

Just another day of trying not to die. What a struggle. But I have to admit, I am hella curious about what will happen in the next week, month, year, and life. I can live with this genre, as long as I know for sure that I will be laughing happily at the end.

Fingers crossed, it will be the real happy laugh, not the crazy laugh. Wish me luck.

yikes judgemental is the opposite of the vibe I was going for (oops). but see its difficult for me to get cuz my trad isn't descended directly from english lore that I know of - I'm an appalachian mutt. water witches originally. we have some similar threads with english tradcraft, we have deals and we have a man in black (they don't all call him that but like... six of one, best i can tell from what lore I have), but we don't like... do hag mounting. we do have the going out as an animal but we don't really ritualize it. It's more of an accident. at least my particular set. and i mean. i have a coyote pelt but its more like a spirit vessel than something i have to wear. (coyote is important to my particular splinter) We also don't really have 1:1 at all with english tradcraft in the prescribed methods of becoming a witch. there's overlap but not in like a... modern tradcraft gradual type way at least. We do have stories about how a person who isn't can become one, and some of those are similar/contain requirements from english lore (if my reading of the books is right anyway) but we also have lore that lays out that sometimes witches just happen and that there's little they can actually do about it outside of more witchcraft/exorcism and in that light i just don't see the point in putting a hat on a hat. that certain spirits might just decide a person is useful. or that person might be born that way because of previous deals made in prior generations. or cuz they died and came back. Or almost died. backwards prayers... lotta ways honestly. Supposedly we're best at spooky things when we're hella old, so that's definitely a parallel but the point I guess i didn't communicate as well as i'd hoped was i pretty much think if you can break a stick in the name of a guy you don't like and then he breaks his arm you should be able to have a cringe unwitchlike altar as a treat, and most importantly that i think witches are fascinating and I want to hear the og clean room superstitions before the pageantry of the social media of it all turns their brain into a shoe and they become completely unrecoverable

Another thing that rubs me a tiny bit about the witchternet is how quickly the aesthetic gets into peoples heads before they start thinking about if theyre saying what theyre saying because they think its what a witch would say and not like... something genuine that might come from a legit well of wisdom through otherness but it isnt as "witchy" aesthetically because its just their own thoughts and theyre used to those so they throw them out and convince themselves to drink tea they hate and parrot their model of a witch until it gives them ulcers and we never really get to pick their actual brain cuz its not theirs anymore. Thinking about that one Sonadow story on Sonadow.com that was written by like 3 people and how it was a very well-written plot about Chris Thorndyke turning into kind of a twat after Sonic X and becoming obsessed with Sonic that he was able to fix his machine to send him back to Sonic's world and still be an adult.

He was obviously kind of disturbed and Sonic was trying his best to be cool about it but it was causing a lot of interesting tension between Chris, Sonic, Shadow and the gang.

But then like it was also obvious that one of the three writers was really into that non-con seme/uke and ruined the fic so bad everytime to the point it contradicted and did a 180° flip on the plot/characterization and then the group just didn't even finish the fic at all. and it's somewhat disappointing/uncomfortable in context because it was a really cool start.

but the deterioration was so fucking funny at the same time because you could SEE the 'creative differences' taking place.

Then i also feel bad because i had friends read the fic completely forgetting that it devolves into madness because the latter half is so detatched from the story that i misremembered it was even apart of THAT FIC and we all just sat there collectively like:

This will be a running theme in my fanficiton, so I'm all for this. Also, I am barely Gen Z, and continuously learn new slang from my students, so excuse the cringe 😅

In my personal opinion, Alucard very much gives supportive grandpa vibes.

He's happy to view whatever "KidToks", "YouViews", or "Bumblr" memes you shove in his face. He's not going to understand it, but he's happy to watch if it makes you smile.

He really loves BookTok for reading material when he's chillin in the dungeon, especially murder mysteries and modern fantasy.

When he first got a taste of your Vine-Vocab, he legit just thought that was the way you spoke.

Seras delivering you a birthday gift: "so you just gonna bring me a birthday gift on my birthday to my birthday party on my birthday with a birthday gift?"

When you eventually informed him it was from a dead meme-site that defined your generation, he was very impressed that you young-folk have such an extensive reference log to communicate with each other.

His favorite moments are when your Gen Z slang is directed at him. He has no idea what you're talking about, but he loves it cus it's you. You love it too, because you can use it to your advantage and flirt with him incognito.

"Alucard, I admire the 40s coat and sunhat drip, but it's a little camp these days. We really need to give you a glow up."

"I saw the footage from your last mission, and I have to say, you were an absolute snack. Totally bussin'."

He enjoys your silly words. Such admirable youth.

But when it came to your self-deprecating humour, it was kind of 50/50 for him. He understands it with no issues, and as long as it wasn't too hurtful towards yourself, he thought it was hilarious.

"Sorry, demons! There’s no room inside me because I’m self-possessed." Hella relatable for him.

"I question my sanity a lot of times. Every now and then, it replies." He's like, "same."

You'd think he would enjoy it all, given his dark-humour streak. However, when you talk too poorly about yourself, it really puts a damper on his mood.

Even though he's a grandpa, we have to remember that Alucard is incredibly intelligent. So whenever you're shitting on yourself, he plays your game to his advantage.

You: "I'm the human equivalent of a typo."

Alucard: "But you'll always be my type."

Wait. What?

You: "If I remember correctly, the last time that I was someone’s type was when I was donating blood in the blood drive."

Alucard: "I had it for my dinner last week, it was one of the best bags I've ever drank."

Motherfucker. There more you try to put yourself down, the more creative he gets. It's like a ping-pong game of put-downs and affectionate counter-attacks.

obligatory 6am episode thoughts (and MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF TED LASSO SPOILERS)

so far it's ep2 > ep1 > ep3 imo. this episode was basically the start of various plotlines but didn't have any big moments for any of them, so it's a little 🤷

ngl, hated zava with a passion and all of his scenes were cringe and boring to me. we already went over the dick star player arc in season 1 with jamie, and zava purposely has less redeeming moments (because he doesn't have a three-season story ahead of him). this plot could only be interesting if it leads to a break in format or character development: ted yelling and giving up on a player / rebecca firing him despite the wins because she cares about the team / west ham drama.

I was SO FOND of colin and michael in this episode!!! they were sweet but not over the top and those moments were literally so far removed from the rest of colin's scenes in the ep, which just stresses how long colin has been hiding this. really liked michael coming to sam's restaurant and their collaborative cover story, because I'm pretty tired of gay relationship drama being one dude angry that the other one is "ashamed" of him. framing the media as their enemy and not each other is a good start.

speaking of which: trent. big sigh. could SO see that plot coming from all of the interviews mentioning trent as both a good and bad presence in richmond. idk if he'd actually out colin, because it'd be hard to come back from that in the eyes of the audience, but there's definitely drama coming and SOMEONE is going to either out colin or threaten him with it, leading to him coming out himself. could be rupert, and that'd be the start of nate realizing he's gone too far. either way that's one plotline I'm hella excited for.

that being said, if michael ends up outing then, I'm 🤡

I simply do not know what to make of tish's predictions. rebecca being upside down and drenched is foreshadowing the amsterdam episode, and whoever saves her (probably ted) would be the knight/shite. but being a mother? obviously not biologically, since hannah explicitly said it's no longer an option. so... tedbecca future???? I'm not even a shipper, I honestly can't see who else she could adopt. rupert's daughter somehow? idefk

jamie was my fave this episode, followed closely by roy. thank god for that bromance, and all of jamie's sudden vocabulary moments were laughing out loud funny. praying for a shot of him reading a dictionary and explaining his sudden word knowledge 😂 am Not Amused at the scene by the bar where keeley looks at them both, but we shall see. I'm actually kinda here for a jamie/shandy thing? their vibes sort of fit lmao. also YES to sam and his chef falling in love. let the man have some happiness and normalcy!

the ted/sassy ongoing hints confuse me, and their purpose escapes me even three seasons later. remind us ted can fuck? I don't feel like it's an endgame thing.

This has to be the fiftieth time I’ve checked my setup in the past twenty four hours. But no, I’m definitely not nervous, what are you talking about. Pshhh. Nah, being nervous isn’t in my brand. Plus, what do I have to make me nervous - a group of famous streamers inviting me onto their stream to play Among Us with them because they enjoyed my own streams? Ok yeah, that’s a pretty good reason. Not gonna lie, I almost chucked my phone out of excitement when I received that DM from Toast, telling me they’d picked me to be their guest streamer for today’s date. My stomach was doing somersaults for a good forty-eight hours following that text and then the anxiety slowly started setting in fueled by the expectations they probably have of me.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not inexperienced in the streaming field, I’ve been a streamer longer than some of the members of Toast’s streamer gang actually. But I never managed to garner that big of a following which I’m honestly quite ok with. I have a modest - ok, maybe larger than modest - following consisting of incredibly loyal fans which I will never stop being grateful for. They are all so respectable of me, my privacy and my boundaries. They know the main rules: no shit-talking in the chat or in any of my comment sections, no bashing other YouTubers in my comments/chat, and most definitely not asking for a face reveal. Fun fact: I didn’t even set up that last rule, they all just collectively know not to ask for it. 

I’ve been keeping my brand pretty low-key to avoid garnering some unwanted attention - some of which I’ve already experienced on certain social media platforms following the full body pictures I posted on there - face not visible of course. I tend to also have my webcam on, facing towards my hands working away on the keyboard sometimes when I stream. I don’t know why people obsess over faceless content creators’ hands, but I appreciate the enthusiasm - it also drives me to do a manicure every now and then which ain’t so bad, self-care and all that you know.

Now, back to the subject of my ridiculous nervousness.

You see, it has layers.

I’m nervous of ‘preforming’ underwhelmingly and I’m nervous of what my own fans will think of the person I will become during this stream. They know me as a super chill and laid-back person, which I am by the way, but they might think I’m putting on a show if I exhibit any nervous gestures/vocabulary. I highly doubt they would, but the possibility is not letting my mind rest. And now that it’s about ten minutes till the stream starts, I’m getting doing my best to calm my nerves.

They are all just people. You know they are super chill too. Just be yourself, that’s why they invited you, because you are yourself on all your streams. They liked you for your personality, humor, maybe even your gaming skills. So chill the hell out and be yourself, damn it!

Easier thought than put into action that’s for sure.

I start my stream five minutes early just so I can vibe with my viewers for a little while before I have to meet the gang. My fans always have a way of injecting me with confidence, they remind me of where I was when I started and how far I’ve come. How much I achieved when I thought I’d be nothing and no one, someone the algorithm would simply overlook. But then they entered my life and I entered theirs and it all became much better than I ever thought it would get to be. I rarely tell myself ‘good job’ for the milestones I’ve reached or the hard work I’ve put into my content, but that’s probably cause I orient myself based on that quote from the movie Whiplash: ‘There are no two words in the English language more harmful than good job’ - simply put, I’m never satisfied with what I do and I always strive to do better. My fans, however, make sure I don’t go overboard with it - always serving as a reminder that I’ve done plenty for myself and others. And that’s what makes an amazing fandom, one I consider family.

This rattles me a bit. I can hardly believe it - am I really receiving a compliment from an A-list name in the streaming world? My fans must be hella proud of me right now. A quick glance at my chat confirms that they indeed are. That in and of itself fills me with joy and newfound confidence.

“Oh Gosh, thank you so much Rae! That means the world to me. You’re all so sweet.“ I reply, lifting my ice cold hands to cool down my burning cheeks, my lips spread into a grin, my stomach filled with butterflies.

“Oh please, we have some real savages around here.“ A male voice, seemingly Charlie’s scoffs, “Don’t overlook us please.“

“Wait, we do?“ A deep voice, one I immediately know the owner of speaks up, “Who? How come I don’t know about that?“

I can’t help bust snort, “Nice to meet you, Corpse. Sarcasm central, I see.”

He laughs, “Just returning it to where it’s due. Nice to meet you too, Y/N. Sick Outlast series, by the way.“

Ok, wait, I have two A-list streamers complimenting my content. Ok, I’m bound to crack open a few beers to celebrate later cause OH MY GOD.

“Thanks! I’m a horror junkie so I’d be lying if I said I haven’t binge watched all your story-times. Personal favorites are the deep web ones, they fascinate me.“

“Oh, you’re one of my kind even more than I expected, huh?“ He replies, the tone of his voice changing, raising a bit due to what I can only describe as excitement and enthusiasm. “I’ve had people tell me it’s twisted, but I really like seeing the lengths to which the fucked up human mind can go to. Like, the shit I’ve read is insane! Some stories I didn’t narrate cause I would’ve probably had my video taken down, it was that messed up.“

My eyes widen, sharing the same excitement at the thought of digging deeper into this phenomenon, “Careful, Corpse, you’re walking a dangerous line of tempting me to deep-dive on Reddit in search of those exact stories.”

“No need.“ Corpse says, his tone now taking up a bit of a cocky note, “I still got them all saved, I can send them to you no problem.“

“Please do! I seriously gotta read them now. If I can’t sleep afterwards, I’m blaming you, Corpse. Just FYI.“ I say, giggling slightly, finding myself all but completely comfortable now. I wonder where all that anxiety went? 

“Blame fully taken. Given that I’m not much of a sleeper, I’ll keep you company whenever you think there’s a killer hiding in your closet or fear a red room pop-up will appear on your computer screen.“ He replies, chuckling.

“Um, that’s oddly specific.“ Charlie comments, “Been there yourself, buddy?”

“Perhaps.“ Corpse wheezes, getting a laugh out of me too, “I will neither confirm nor deny.“

On another note, today is a good day omg. Content from Jimin, Tae, and Yoongi. (My bias line!) Yoongi’s documentary teaser feels like a road trip. The clip where he’s driving 🥵👌 Can’t wait for April to be Yoongi’s month 🙏 Model boyfriend Tae at Celine’s store! His legs look so long omg! Jimin’s performances! The crop top!👌

But it is getting a lil cringe and annoying that people insist on saying they’re jealous because of the touching choreo.
