Do Gallifreyans have some sort of Braille for the visually impaired? Do we have any idea how it'd look?
Do Gallifreyans use a Braille-like system for the visually impaired?
To begin with, it's important to note that blindness/visual impairment appears relatively rare on Gallifrey—only a few known Gallifreyans have completely lost their sight, and each has found their own way to adapt to it. This matters because eyes are very important on Gallifrey, as Gallifreyan technology often uses retina scans.
Unfortunately, there is no known documented equivalent to Earth's Braille on Gallifrey, so there is no real idea of how it might work.
... But never let that get in the way of some theories.
👆Theoretical Gallifreyan Braille Systems
In human terms, Braille is a tactile writing system that relies on touch. Gallifrey, with its five-dimensional tech, might push this concept further. Imagine a Braille that conveys letters and words through touch and dimensions beyond typical human perceptions.
Multi-Dimensional Touch: Gallifreyan Braille could utilise a form of tactile feedback that incorporates temporal and spatial dimensions. Each 'dot' could represent different states depending on temporal phase shifts. So, a single touch could convey layers of information about an object or concept, not just its name or description.
Sonic Enhancements: Gallifreyan Braille could integrate sonic feedback to help convey more complex information. Different frequencies or vibrations could be used to add layers of context or emotion to the tactile experience.
Holographic Projections: For a society that can manipulate light and space, why limit Braille to a static surface? Holographic projections that can be felt and manipulated in the air could be an everyday reality for the visually impaired Gallifreyans, allowing them to 'feel' the data as it floats before them.
Neuro-Sensory Integration: Taking it a step further, Gallifreyan Braille might directly interface with the nervous system, allowing a user to 'see' through touch by translating tactile information into visual-like perceptions in the brain. This method would bypass traditional sensory routes and offer a direct, immersive experience.
🏫 So ...
While Gallifreyans may not have a direct equivalent to Braille, we can certainly have lots of fun thinking about it. Of course, you may decide all these theories are rubbish—the floor is open!

Factoid: How do Gallifreyans cope with extreme vision loss?
Do Time Lord-specific disabilities exist?: Types of disabilities specifically for Gallifreyans, both known and theoretical.
Hope that helped! 😃

every day I thank god fans aren't in charge of making updates to games
#unless ofc you play tf2#but STILL like. ive seen so many bullshit rebalances for spies and snipers#and like. ik the current system is plain tiring to fight against but these people WOULD MAKE IT WORSE#i just saw a post about fallout 4 changes#and some of them are obvious. like changing danses dialogue after blind betrayal etc#but like. NO. some of these.....#WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO REPAIR NICKS FACE?#1 thats his charm. hes old and broken down. 2 it would NOT help his identity issues#like this is the face and hes made it his own. hes no longer an institute synth AND he's no longer the pre-war human detective valentine#also romancing him....eh. i admit i would also love to romance him#but to quote one of the disco elysium creators: the thing about desires is that theyre much stronger when theyre not fully satiated#thered for sure be still nick simpers ofc. as am i. but imo i think thered be less#and again coming back to tf2. i saw recently a post on reddit that made a concept sapper for spy to use on medics#and like please 😭😭😭you want to sap the medigun? you want to sap übercharge? you want to hurt medics EVEN MORE?#playing med well is hard enough as is normal girl. there was a comment down below saying that the spy should have sappers for each class#and WHAT. STOP. the spy ALREADY has a way to hurt all classes!#if he gets close enough he either dies immediately or backstabs! why do you want to sap too!#and spy is already SPECIFICALLY a counter to engie! and gets countered by pyro! its a good balance imo#ofc theres some tweaks to be made for each class but CMON. thatd be a HUGE rework for spy#and some other comment said that a sapped medigun should hurt teammates. FRIENDLY FIRE IS EXPLICITLY NOT A THING!!!#we should bully spy mains more btw#okay. bitching over. sorry#i have more to say but ughhhhhhhh#thatd be pretty much just repeating what i already said basically#mine#rant

wild to me that stb made it front and centre (all but waving a billboard in your face) that hingashi doesn’t have primal issues like eorzea does bc the populace doesn’t implicitly think of their ‘lesser’ beastman races as anything other than different dudes with different cultures that intermix in population centres freely and are given the respect any other sentient being would deserve and as the fishing quests show the interplay between them is necessary to preserve local ecological health, and the designated ‘bad’ factions are just ones that have chosen different ways to survive the crisis affecting them (which would be a far more interesting moral quandary to explore if the game bothered to designate them as anything other than ‘the bad guys in red you can kill’, remember the beastman designation and treatment eorzean groups get is an ul’dahn custom)
and it’s wild to me that shb did this AGAIN with the mirrored races living peacefully with each other in the wake of a world-destroying apocalypse and are integral to the survival of a great many communities and this is normal and why would you treat them any differently, they’re just people and they look a little different but we could say the exact same for you.
and at least so far, not once does this ever trigger any serious self-reflection in any of the scions abt their role in perpetuating a racist regime of violence and surveillance in the cultures of other people bc they’ve arbitrarily designated them as dangerous and violent and evil (even tho even the base game allied quests prove this assumption wrong) and never once do they actually ever even attempt to figure out what the real cause of excessive primal summoning is bc if they cared they wouldn’t be sucking off the alliance leaders for clout they’d be telling them to fucking stop treating the beast races like shit for existing, which they never do even when it’s explicitly laid out for them (like limsa betraying a peace treaty which is one of the direct causes of their issues w/ the kobolds and the sahagin and it’s very much Their Fault but the scions consistently and always side with merlwyb on the issue)

I had to kill Danse ):
He started murdering my settlers in Sanctuary. Because the Brotherhood hated me
Interestingly, he used his death line for when you kill him in Blind Betrayal.
Weird bug. Because that quest just didn’t work. Like I could not trigger it
I then proceeded to blow up the Institute and then the Prydwen.
