pirate radio, december 2023 risograph printed in bright red and black ink

my final graphic design thesis project from about this time last year! i made a sleeve for a diy vinyl record (track featured by my friend aria @everlastingwife ^_^). this process was so much fun to experiment with!! on my first attempt, i tried to 3d print a record using a 3d model i generated from the wav file. this did not work because i didn't have access to any printers with a fine enough resolution — all of the grooves holding the audio information totally melted. for my second try, i used a subtractive process instead and badgered my department into buying the gakken toy record maker, which was essentially a tiny record lathe. the audio quality was total ass but it worked much better and was playable! lot of trial and error involved but i'm overall very satisfied with the final outcome :-] hope to make some cd mixtapes now that i no longer have access to that little lathe.

sick and tired of seeing people use zip ties for boning. listen to me i am a costume designer stop using plastic which does not hold your shape (the whole point of boning) you do not need to buy proper coiled boning or anything: go to a hardware store and find flat metal tension spring (google tells me that's what it's called, unfortunately i also don't know what its used for in hardware store related things so i cant describe it if that isnt the correct translation, soz) you can get a roll of 15m x 4mm tension spring for about 15 euros where i live and then you just have to cut it with metal shears (you can use a regular cutting pliers probably but if you have metal shears you will be happier) then either file down the edges a bit if you're genuinely gonna wear it a lot, or you just wind some tape around the edges to make sure putting them in the channels isn't gonna rip your fabric and anyway now you have an actually functional boned garment. go to a hardware store and show them this pic btw:

^ this is what you want. also bc this is 4mm wide around stress points like closures you want to make 2 channels right alongside each other and put in 2 pieces of tension spring for stability

Mechtober 2024 Day 19: Headcanons

The Lyfrassir Edda working at Sawedoff Police Department is the same Lyfrassir Edda from The Bifrost Incident,, they ended up on Zeta Quadstar B after escaping the Bifrost,,, no one can change my mind on this matter and none of you know what the hell I am talking about or who those people in the background are and I am so sorry.

This is mostly a Mutants & Masterminds campaign headcanon but it’s MY PERSONAL OPINION on what happened to Lyf after TBI. So it’s also a mechanisms headcanon now. :)

I am fully aware that this drawing has a target audience of exactly 1 (me), so here’s Lyf by themself so no one can be mad at me about it:

I'm a ceramics TA at a university :) so that's taking up a lot of my time and brain but I'm hoping once I'm settled I will be able to build a routine for art and Etsy again. Greetings and bienvenue, everyone! Here’s my deliciously wicked treat to share today: it’s Vincent Vladislav Argost who is actually the infamous Abominable Snowman aka the Yeti!

I grew up watching this series on Cartoon Network when I was younger and this show is so unfortunately underrated. But honestly, the show is famous for its signature antagonist which is V.V. Argost. Voiced brilliantly by veteran voice actor Corey Burton (Captain Hook of Disney’s Peter Pan fame)!

THIS is what a villain is supposed to be: eloquent, intelligent, and charming in his own twisted way! I found this character is intriguing yet intoxicating to find out that the plot twist of this show, basically being about cryptic creatures of folklore, is actually a cryptid himself. The Yeti! 😬🫢😳 That’s amazing and scary to know as Argost disguised himself as a human to blend in while posing himself as a international TV celebrity being a parody of famous Hollywood horror legends such as Alfred Hitchcock and Vincent Price. So brilliant and so original! That’s why I drew this crazily sinister ape-man! 🤪🤪

i remember when i was so contentpilled back when i was on instagram. i used to schedule when i would post and when i would finish my drawings alongside my tests and oral exams eeee yikes...
