Hello ! I did make this a long time ago and the reason you didn't find it is probably because it's almost a decade old (and also very badly tagged). You can find the original post here. I think back then I had no idea what actual medieval clothing might look like, lol. How far we've come.

if you or your partner are disabled, and you can't split the work in the relationship 50/50, that's okay. you're not abusive, or a baby, or unloveable because of that. I promise

Shockingly underrated thing about Leo is that he’s legitimately charming when he wants to be?

He’s the Faceman! He’s persuasive! That’s not just some random title he gave himself with no backing to it. People will listen to him. Even if they think he’s being annoying or if they’re upset at him, people listen to him anyway! There’s a reason his bros push him out front to talk to people, and when this happens, that talking nearly always works.

Moreover, Leo knows people. He looks at them and takes into account how they act and what they’re like as he makes his way through the conversations. It’s easy to forget this aspect of Leo’s character because he only brings it out when he really needs (read: wants) to, but it really is a notable part of him that always love to see.

And I say charm in particular because he has a knack for not only getting people to pay attention, but for getting people to stay and listen to what he has to say.

if i'm honest, the mcyt fandom has the biggest case of 'except for the acceptable target' syndrome. they'll make posts about 'handling cringe' but make it clear the acceptable cringe is not dsmp fans or dream fans. they'll talk about growth and nuance and change but it's never applied to the people they hate. bullying is wrong, of course, unless you're 'driving out' the dream fans.

there is always an exception to any of these statements, there's always someone who you're allowed to treat poorly and i really hope one day the fandom can move away from that and be kinder.

I think Finnick and Johanna do act very sexually forward, to a degree that it can make people very uncomfortable, and it seems like the fandom agrees on that but the why of it really gets lost. Trafficking survivors and survivors of sexual abuse sometimes do act extremely provocatively, especially when they want something or are in a situation where they feel unsafe, but also they’ll do that to get a reaction or redirect a difficult conversation. it’s a trauma response. it’s a defense mechanism and a way they’ve learned to navigate the world. it’s not some deep intrinsic part of their personalities and we see that both Finnick and Johanna will not and do not act like that if they don’t feel the need to. so seeing fics (in particular modern aus) where their experience of being trafficked is erased but they still act extremely seductive really rubs me the wrong way. it’s at that point such a deep misinterpretation of their characters that i won’t engage with it. if what you’re taking away from everything is that Finnick’s a womanizer and Johanna’s stripping in the elevator is meant to be sexy, i honestly don’t want to see whatever else you have to say.
