No (I've purposely ignored all the joke messages I've received on this topic for being in poor taste) because it's a terribly irresponsible red flag to assume any random girl can just magically 'fix' a guy like that. I hate it. To rudely use and throw away a woman like simply slapping on a disposable bandaid. >:[ If anyone ever suggests this, even as a joke - which is quite offensive actually, never take their word seriously.

And in Garou's case it would be even worse since it'd just be running away from the root of his actual problem. (And it's never a woman's job to do this as a substitute!) So focus on fixing that first - on Bang's neglect and reconciling their broken/estranged familial relationship, before Garou's ever ready for a serious emotional commitment elsewhere. Otherwise it'd only be fooling around with something so shallow to discard, as a temporary distraction at best - wholly unhelpful to him, and hurtful to the hypothetical partner.

So if Bang ever dared to try and coax Garou into being the same type of playboy in his youth (and we all saw how much 'good' that did him /s cause it truly solved nothing until his brother Bomb intervened to set him right) then Bang would be deliberately shirking his responsibilities as his guardian (relapsing back into his old bad habits actually) and deserve a slap for that repeated failure. So if he's to be trusted at all, where it's Bang's reformed job now to provide and care for Garou's supportive needs, then he should not fail Garou again.

watching people discover the fucked up science guy part of viktor's lore and then being like "we need to acknowledge that he's a fucked up science guy 😔" is so funny. like yeah, he is a fucked up science guy who thinks ethics committees are bullshit because in his mind having rights temporarily violated is perfectly fine if it means saving lives—especially when the ones condemning his beliefs don't offer what they consider to be an ethical alternative to fix the problem and simply let it continue to exist.

and yeah, he's a fucked up science guy who experimented on himself following a, quote: traumatic period of introspection. he had a mental breakdown, fell into a major depressive episode, and spending this horrible time of his life "alone in the depths" reinforced and radicalized his previous beliefs, and to showcase his beliefs (and to try and get rid of his emotions because of how overwhelming they were) he turned himself into a cyborg (and did in fact make himself worse in certain ways but ehh who cares /j).

and yeah, he's a fucked up science guy who gave a kid back alley anti anxiety meds so he could face down his bullies, but he did so after making him a cozy beverage, teaching him about the dangers of propaganda and baseless rumors, and having him scream into a megaphone to freak out said bullies because it was funny (not that he'd admit to finding it funny because then he'd have to admit to having emotions, and well he can't do that, no sir).

so yes, viktor is a fucked up science guy, but that's half his charm! he cares so much about helping people, but he's a weirdo and freak about it! though to be fair, in the city that also has a chemically enhanced werewolf (warwick), a sentient blob of goo (zac), a wind and water goddess (janna), and a literal war criminal who invented chemical warfare (singed), among many other wacky individuals, he's pretty normal all things considered! fucked up science is just a part of life in zaun, my dudes!

Oooo!!! What if Sam helped Danny with the "dodging the bullet" moment!!!

Sam knew Danny in highschool Peripherally. He was one of the popular kids (the good kind). And Sam was a bookworm. The new girl Paulina, Sam and she became friends (along with Val, star, dora) a few months later, Paulina started dating Danny. At first she seemed cool and they would talk about everything. At one point, she starts talking about how she has been hooking up with her ex-boyfriend (Dash Baxter) behind Danny’s back. Just before the end of the school year. Paulina tells Sam she is pregnant and that she knows it belongs to her ex boyfriend. She is laughing and really proud of herself because Danny is going to do the right thing. Withdraw his college application and go work to support her and the baby. Her ex, the father of the baby, is kind of a loser, so she thinks it’s the best thing, even if she can continue banging dash while making Danny support her. 

Sam really didn’t know Danny that well, but she got his phone number from an acquaintance of hers who knew it (Tucker Foley aka Danny BFF). Sam anonymously Texted him about the Paulina ploy and said “get a paternity test. The baby isn't yours.”

He then thanked Sam. (through text)

Danny and Paulina broke up. He cussed her out and Danny went to college and made something of his life.

I thought maybe... Paulina told Danny that they had sex at a party when they were drunk, Danny believed her of course, it made sense at the time. but in reality they never had sex because Paulina was with Dash.

Sam did the right thing; she cut Paulina off and moved on with her life…

Meanwhile, before they graduate. Danny wanted to know who sent him the text? He wanted to thank them personally, and wanted to repay them by saving his life.  After a couple of days, Danny almost wanted to give up. He tried calling and texting them. But they didn't respond. Until, when Danny arrived at Nasty Burger and sat at the booth next to Val, star, dora. He overheard their conversation about their ex-friend and how they were lucky to have good friends like Sam in their lives. Praising her for warning Danny from paulina.

When Danny learned that it was Sam who warned him, he went to find her...but Sam was really busy. Because they were graduating soon, Sam was too busy apartment hunting, packing her stuff, and etc.

Unfortunately they never did meet up, after graduation Sam left right away. (I'm being lazy so I'm going to reuse some of the office love idea lol) Sam and Danny met again later in life, (they are 25-26 years old) Sam and Danny were at a bar or some cafe. It was Danny who approached her first. 

Danny: “Sam is that you?”

Sam: “huh? I'm sorry, do I know you?”

Danny: “It’s me Danny! Danny Fenton…we went to the same highschool…and you saved me from Paulina.”

Sam: “Oh! OMG!!! Danny!!!”

Danny: *Chuckle*

They got to talking about life, careers, etc. Sam told Danny about her great job as a game illustrator, originally she wanted to go into business, but she wasn't happy. Then she entered a game art contest, won first prize and got an internship. Sam dropped out of college and has been working for the company ever since. And she loves it. And to further her career she is taking night classes to gain the skills as a generalist animator and/or 3D modeler.

Danny was impressed by Sam, but not as impressed as Sam when she learned Danny is an Aerospace Engineer!!!

Sam: “WOW!!! That is so COOL!!!”

Danny: “it’s nothing.”

Sam: “don’t be so modest, Mr. Aerospace Engineer. I bet you're making Bank. your gf is a lucky lady to have you.“

Danny: “actually…no.”

Sam: “wha?”

Danny: “I-i don't have a gf.”

Sam: “....”

Danny: “....”

Sam: “....im sorry, i have a hard time believing that.”

Danny: “it’s because of the incident with Paulina, i'm having difficulty with trusting women in an intimate/ romantic setting. ”

Sam: “oh..right, yeah i don't blame you.”

Danny: “Sam…i've been wanting to thank you, for saving me from a miserable fate as a factory worker to support that wicked woman and raising someone else's child. It was thanks to you, I was able to pursue my dreams of working in NASA and freedom.”

Sam: “Oh please, anyone in my position would have done the same.”

I was thinking Danny kind of lied but not really, don't get it wrong. Danny was traumatized. He was never serious in a relationship but he has had a lot of one night stands. and Danny has been very careful. He took every precaution. Danny knows he's in a position where women would do anything to lock him down (baby trap him and etc) because he is very successful and financially good, so yeah.

also it will be interesting throughout the years when Danny is sleeping with other women he imagines he's with Sam!!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Danny: “What about you? How was your dating life?”

Sam: “It sucks, I've only been with two…well technically one serious relationship.”

The first guy was mostly a “friend with benefits” and the second one was her ex-fiance. (Gregor,) the liar and cheater. Since then Sam has been single since.

I think it would be really sweet if Danny only sees him and Sam having a future together. So Sam and Danny would have a second chance in love/ Friends to lovers type of love story story.

I am uninformed about the director of the acolytes and their takes. Could you inform me?

Per her Collider interview, the show reportedly "won't be kind" to the Jedi. Which would have been bad enough but this show is specifically set in the High Republic era.

You know, that period they've been exploring where the Republic and the Jedi are actually functioning in harmony and working together and the fandom generally agrees that it's a golden age for everyone?

The show takes place towards the end of that era, 100 BBY, so what I'm expecting is a lot of leaning into the ever pervasive and irritating idea of "Oh the Prequel Jedi Order LoST tHeIR wAy!", especially since she seems to think Lucas was telling that story with the Prequels. (AKA the perpetually annoying "The point of the Prequels!!!!" talking point.)

Also per the Collider interview, Kathleen Kennedy loved her idea and I don't think I need to tell you how much fandom does not trust that woman's judgement.

Additionally! Her IMDB credentials are pitiful (directing a season of the The Bachlorette does not qualify you for speculative fiction) and another interview there reveals that she wrote Star Wars fanfiction when she was younger, which is first of all cringe to bring up in any kind of professional context and always always a crapshoot when it comes to hiring writers because you can't guarantee that the writer hasn't 1) marinated too long in their own personal fanon interpretations of the characters and world, 2) subscribed to some of the popular but wrong fanon ideas pervading the fandomsphere (see aforementioned "The Jedi lost their way!") or 3) brought some of their bad writing habits with them into the professional world.

So we have an inexperienced director with a potential head full of bad fanon tropes and misinterpretations about the source material put in charge of a project because the unpopular boss lady liked her personally.

Yeah. I'm hard-passing this show and I'm probably going to have to blacklist it because the discourse is going to be insufferable.

r/WritingPrompts: A AskReddit post which reads: "Superheroes/Supervillains, what's the most awkward situation you found yourselves in during your career?"

I conjured a spirit to conceal my identity on this post, and it was a mischievous thing, so I have no idea what name this is appearing under. Apologies to whoever’s identity I’ve stolen for the moment, I suppose.

I’ve never kept a “costume” name, as I’ve just never really been one for that sort of thing. And I’m certainly not giving out my real name, no matter how much of a “nobody” I may be outside of the heroes-and-villains business. Names carry too much power. By way of introduction, I’ll use the title I carry among the spirit world and those who traffic with it: The Witch of the Book.

If you know that name, you are likely wary, but I assure you there are no bindings or charms concealed within these words.

If you operate within the circles I do, you are likely at least somewhat aware that the majority of the power at my disposal comes from my namesake book. However, I’m not without power of my own. It’s a minor gift, nothing that would have me fighting monsters on its own, but I have slight mental manipulation abilities. I come off as trustworthy, my requests sound reasonable, and people are generally willing to listen and take my side. It’s no mind control — it takes quite a lot of conversation and effort on my part to even plant a suggestion in someone — but it’s helped me on more than a few occasions.

One thing it has never helped with is getting dates.

You would think, right? I like to believe I present as a mysterious, powerful, and wise entity. Between that and natural charms I should have it easy. But no. Apparently being WLW and involved in all manner of mystical nonsense puts me in an extreme niche. It doesn’t help that I’m rather prone to falling for people too easily…

But you wanted specific incidents. I have two.

First, I once took an apprentice in the mystical arts. I don’t think I would, anymore, but I was less experienced at the time. And I was… a bit charmed by her. She was clever, enthusiastic, funny, relentlessly positive, and had a habit to turn any interaction between us into a flirt. We were dancing around the topic of dating — our relationship wasn’t as imbalanced as a student-teacher one, but it still felt awkward — when one of my own familiars had to break it to me that while I may have found the girl charming, she was quite literally enchanted by me. In one go, I discovered my charm was amplified against those who could be attracted to me, and my apprentice learned she was abnormally strongly influenced by enchantment.

I had to break off the relationship for ethical reasons, and end her apprenticeship because the arts were too risky for her.

The second incident might be worse, honestly, and also probably more familiar to the rest of the vigilante community. Having gone years without any further prospects, I was desperate enough to turn to a dating app. Surprisingly, I got a hit almost immediately, and it didn’t take long for us to hit it off on the app and set up a date. And of course, it turned out to be one of my fiercest rivals. We’d both used enough magical obfuscation over our encounters to not know it until we sat down, but I knew that voice in an instant, and I could tell from the look on her face that she knew mine. Of course, I was without my book and she was without her enchanted sword, so it wasn’t like things would turn to blows, but I still expected her to cut things short. Stars know I should have.

But no! She was perfect. Polite, funny, charming, seeming genuinely interested — and I knew from our battles that my charms didn’t affect her. And I had always found her beautiful, despite constantly being at odds. And now, knowing she’s also interested in women… it makes me want to scream. I swear she was only doing it to act superior or mess with me.

But now… I’m honestly considering seeing if we can work things out between us, no matter how stupid or desperate that makes me.
