Issa Dee is a literal ray of sunshine. She's awkward, she's in her head, she's hilarious, she's gorgeous, she's flawed, she can be mean, she speaks her mind, and she loves. Deeply and with a whole lot of fumbling along the way. Issa has an exciting love life with no clear "best" match. She's building a career that means something to her. in my hall of fame of stories where cell phones/ texts carry a HUGE emotional weight . Just punching me in the « too close to home » part of my belly. This was so so well done. The last message being « Take your time » when they both stare at that screen for days ! Possibly weeks since the timeline is always voluntarily blurry. Jeng reaching for his phone to text Pat when he is upset about his father. Pat asking Boo not to text him then WAITING FOR HIM TO TEXT ? Plus Jeng breaking AND DOUBLE TEXTING. In English because that’s THEIR thing ?
