#im very scared about talking about aus#since im not a writer... im a reader!!! shout out to all the fanfic authors you guys really carry me#also this is very obviously a modern au#in said au i like to imagine that when kaveh isnt actively drawing he wears compression gloves that double as normal art gloves theyre just#expensive as fuck so he tries not to get them dirtied in ink and graphite#in a similar vein al haitham owns 1 billion compression shirts cause comfy compression#i have a bunch of really specific and small headcanons tbh#ANYWAY ABOUT THE NURSERY PART#kaveh is a regular that likes to support his friends by buying way too many flowers he doesnt have the time to take care of :3#also he buys samples to show clients when he has an idea involving flowers for decoration#collei also works there part time#also kaveh and al haitham knew each other in college but the Fallout(TM) happened so they stopped talking until they met again#met again in the nursery lol!!!#imagine being surrounded by carefully tended to flowers and trees and other flora while slowly falling in love#with the same guy that tore open your chest and peered directly into your soul#haikaveh#kavehtham#kaveh#alhaitham#genshin impact

Since I just write my pens dry instead of doing some kind of weekly or monthly setup, I decided to do a currently inked page in my ink journal when a significant number of them has switched up. But I like the little grids so much and I like seeing how the colours interact, so I’ve decided to make slightly larger scale currently inked grids on loose leaf tomoe river paper every time I switch an ink out. I just feel like it would be so satisfying to flip through them and see the colours switching out gradually. Not sure how long I’ll stick it out, but we’ll see. Still very much figuring out what I like

A couple more watercolor esk, testing out some new paper! It turns out that uh, using high quality watercolor paper has some benefits huh.
#watercolor#twwm#quirk#drawing stuff#i did find that the 300lb cotton paper was way more ink-smudgy than the cheap paper i had been using#which took some adjusting#and the bottom one is on hotpress paper and the smoothness was almost a little disconcerting#but i have these sitting on my desk and the paper is SO flat. beautiful#these were just sample cards but maybe i'll have to try picking up some more#really entering my watercolor era....#also i saw a new gall and gave it to quirk :)

maybe wrangling this new pen for pages and pages is what finally gets me to finish this sketchbook
#art#ink#sketch#i got a pen with a supposed flex nib and it's nothing like a flexy dip pen nib#i think ive got it working smoothly now. im accepting the lack of line variation haha#i hope it will work okay with the waterproof black ink ive got at home (platinum carbon black) but we will See#ive almost used up the entire ink sample i got with this gjslbfkd#anyway ive had this sketchbook since 2018 which is bonkers#up to that point ive filled up probably 30-40 sketchbooks total#but this one i got as a gift and it's like. big hardcover chonky boy#really good quality!!!!!!#and i think i started using it and then filled out a different sketchbook before coming back to it#and it's also around that time when i was done with university and didn't have much Sketch Time as before which is sad#combined with the fact that it's big and heavy and i do not bring it everywhere#it's slow going!!!!! there's so much doodles in it but ive still got like a quarter left of it??? maybe a fifth#but now i have like eight pages of fountain pen wrangling hahaha#i should add that any Thin Lines are not because this pen flexing but me drawing with the nib upside down#for extra fine lines u_u

I’m having so much fun reading up on the Lamy Dark Lilac situation. Utterly fascinated by how a company that produces a somewhat niche product (fountain pen ink) has absolutely no idea said ink has a cult following. How could they not know?
(As someone who missed out on the original Dark Lilac ink I must say I’m disappointed. It’s not the same colour, it shouldn’t be called the same, my quest to find the perfect purple ink goes on)
