Mountain Climbers!!! β£ Although they look daunting, mountain climbers are a super simple to get right and a fantastic exercise to get those abdominal muscles firing β’ Here's a handy little guide on h ow to position your body when performing the exercise; β£ ππ» Hands - Traditionally, Mountain Climbers start in a high-plank position, and your hands should be directly underneath your shoulder joint (there should be a straight line, from your wrist to your elbow to your shoulder) β’ In order to increase the difficulty - you can drop to a low plank or combine with a plank press and alternate between low and high plank to work those core muscles extra hard! β£ πͺπ» Hips & Shoulders - When doing Mountain Climbers, your hips should be positioned below your shoulders (imagine a diagonal line running from your shoulders to you feet). β£ π£ Feet - In order to create better balance and stability, your feet should be hip-width apart, too close together and you risk losing that crucial core tension and balance. β£ π§π» The Movement - Draw your knees up towards your chest, one at a time, making sure to engage your core and not to rotate your hips (they should remain parallel to one another) β’As with all exercise, it's quality and not quantity that counts so go slowly at first and focus on form before building up your pace! β£ π’ These are a great exercise to use in timed sets (as opposed to focusing on reps) so I recommend doing 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest and repeat for 4-8 sets. β£ #WorkoutWednesday β£ β£ #getstrongertoday #buildyourbody #workingonmyfitness #athomefitness #quickworkout #athomeworkouts #athomeworkout #workoutwithme #athomeworkoutideas #homeworkouts #workouteverywhere #athomegym #garageworkout #livingroomworkouts #backyardworkout #sweatathome #getfitathome #inhomeworkout #bodyweightexercises #noequipmentworkout #noequipmentneeded #nogymneeded #workoutideas #freeworkouts #quarantineworkout #quarantoned #betterforit #findyourstrong #fitnessforlife (at Leeds) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDx4iPeB8up/?igshid=pk31n6kqnq5s

#socialmumsoct challenge Day 17: slow down Yesterday I received my t-shirt and tracking sheet for my 2000 burpees in November. I have slowly been building up to make sure that I can do enough each day to complete the challenge without injury (hopefully). Sorry no music or IG blocks the post soooo first video we have plank twists or add a kick through (if youβre ready) 20 reps Squat jumps 20 reps (keep heels on ground, I fell forward the first one) Get ups 15 reps (if you need to use your hands, lean to the side, however you need to get up but do it 20x. 3 rounds ladies and gentlemen! 2nd video starts with knee push ups or more challenging regular push ups but keep your elbows in either way. 10-20 reps Plank walks 10 on one arm then switch to other arm. These can be done on your knees for beginners. Need more challenge? Raise one leg up.
